Hello! I have a question about yellow jackets. Are they calmer in autumn? I’ve had one land on me twice, and it was late October both times. Neither me or the wasp were harmed either time. (I live in Ohio if you need the location.)

Actually, they're known to seem more aggressive in fall because of the large amount of wasps born that summer and the dwindling amount of food available as weather turns colder. They may turn to human sources to find food and people can often see that behavior as aggressive. If the temp is lower, though, they may be sluggish. Either way, they have no reason to attack/sting you unless you're threatening their nest. It's not unusual to have a non-threatening counter with a lone wasp or two! That's true any time of year, though.

I am Manal, a mother from Gaza, not only living under bombing and fear, and the death that steals lives without mercy... I live every moment watching my little daughter, Swar, who is only a year and a half old, crying from hunger 🥺, and I can do nothing...

I started a series on my messages with Manal shortly before I had to go on hiatus in December, so here is the long-awaited second installment -- Manal's warm wishes for Eid.

The name behind the blue is my chosen family sister, and Gandalf is our cat.

I told Manal how Gandalf stayed by my sister's side during her recent illness. Manal and I say Gandalf is magic because when my sister is sick, he lays himself across the affected area and purrs; some studies suggest purring supports healing.

Manal's choice to see hope in the future is a lesson for us all. Some billionaire preaches about hope and perseverance, it means nothing for how I can keep going.

But when Manal tells me there is somehow hope for the future, that fucking means something.

What it means is, there's work to be done, and it provides food and clean water for a math teacher and her four beautiful kids.

Alrighty then. Just let me turn my music up and get my fingers warmed up. This will be good to get me in the zone for my PhD application that I will write after this.

I woke up last week, and checked my Tumblr for the first time in a while. Lo and behold, there was an Ask waiting for me. Cool. Very rarely do I actually get them.

So I looked, and to my surprise, the bottom ask is what I was greeted with. Huh.

An account that I have never interacted with (as far as I'm aware) sending me abuse. I was going to send them a message to inquire why they had sent me that, but alas, messages are closed to people they dont follow.

So I sent an Ask back, asking why they had sent it, with the reply being below.

Further to this, I sent one back asking for the evidence they have used to make this judgement.

I cant quite remember if these were sent individually or not, as I seem to think that some of them came in pairs. Believe it or not, I was actually going outside doing things, rather than being chronically online.

I will admit, there is a post (my pinned post in fact) that is entitled Stupid Girls. However, if anyone actually read it, they would find out my views on stupidity very quickly. I will discuss my actual views at the end of this.

The top ask from the picture below was in response to the one I sent them (the one from their post). From my experience on here (about a decade and a previous nuked blog) there are some girls who enjoy being 'broken'. So I took a punt with that ask.

And that was it for almost a week....... Until today.
