Lock, would you please explain the differences in your husband rotation when they're in a "normal state/character" compared to when they exhibit yandere tendencies/ are extremely yandere? I'd love to read your thoughts🖤!

this was such an interesting question that i've been thinking about it all day HGETJNKR

speaking in general terms, even when writing 'non-yandere' versions of the husband rotation, i still make them a lil weird. just a dash of unhinged. what changes depending on if they're yan or not is how willing they are to consciously impede on the reader's wishes for their personal gain. now, getting into specifics...

my take on non-yandere and yan chrollo

there are a lot of little specifics that change depending on the variation of the character i'm writing for, but we'd be here all day if i got into that. so, i'll be focusing on the most prominent differences. regarding mr. lucilfer, i consider the most pertinent changes to be: him divulging his identity to reader and how out of his way he goes to rope reader in.

yan chrollo holds off on revealing that he's the leader of the phantom troupe, but is eventually fine with you finding out. it serves a dual-purpose. first, you're Extra cognizant of the power difference, thwarting any potential shenanigans you might get up to. second, he can unapologetically be himself. non-yandere chrollo's fine expressing his apathy toward the plight of others in small, socially acceptable increments. he's less blunt about it overall because he doesn't want you to drift away from him.

then there's his manipulation of outside variables to scooch you his way. yan chrollo accepts subjecting you to some traumatic things as a 'means to an end,' whereas his non-yandere counterpart values your mental well-being more. thanks king. regardless, they're both going to stalk you to varying extents, utilizing morally ambiguous methods without any guilt. they're also both going to make liberal use of lying by omission.

non-yandere and yan gojo

i am physically incapable of writing gojo being normal toward reader. it'd lack the pièce de résistance. that being said, non-yandere gojo is weird and yan gojo is weird with malicious intent. i'm not sure if that makes any sense, so allow me to elaborate.

they're both not the best with respecting boundaries, although in non-yandere gojo's case, that'd improve slightly with age. i always write reader as having attended high school with him because that's the dynamic i find most intriguing. in both cases, gojo in his teenage years is going to be obnoxious and unapologetic about keeping your eyes on him. non-yandere gojo deviates in his ability to mature by trusting you enough to believe you when you say you're not going anywhere. yandere gojo always has that gnawing fear that he'll end up with no one who can truly understand him if he isn't vigilant.

either way, you're not locked up in some dungeon where you'll never see the light of day, which is a boon. they're both content to let you interact with geto & shoko in your high school years, as well as their students into adulthood. selfish as yan gojo can be, his dream of the next generation usurping the status quo is paramount. he believes your influence too invaluable to deprive his students of. they both complain about how much you dote on megumi though.

non-yandere and yan scara

... ahem. the differences here are less pronounced. a driving factor behind scaramouche's character is his fear of abandonment, along with the resentment from the betrayals he previously experienced. they're both not the easiest people to be in a relationship with (or the healthiest). there's always going to be some level of codependency with non-yandere scaramouche. his yandere variation just cranks that to the highest setting.

the key difference lies within your ability to steer him away from being a weirdo. there's a skill ceiling for yan scaramouche, you can only make it so far. non-yandere scaramouche, on the other hand, has a sliver of hope. it'd require a mind-numbing amount of patience and forgiveness, but it's technically possible. everything comes down to how much you love him at his worst. should you accept him, albeit with some conditions (such as him being more honest with his feelings), he will make a legitimate effort to reform himself.

anything else nets you a bad end. he's emotionally volatile and prone to callousness. it isn't like yan scaramouche wants you to hate him — he's driven by paranoia. compounded by your understandable distaste for his new, restrictive behavior, he ends up saying things he'll later regret. tl;dr scara is eevee and will evolve into a slightly normal partner or yandere depending on your stats.

non-yandere and yan blade

somehow the most normal from this lineup?????? not that that's an achievement, since that bar's in hell, but it's still kinda funny.

unlike the other weirdos on this list, non-yandere blade could come to accept if you loved another. it isn't inconceivable or a reality he'd seek to alter. if anything, non-yandere blade would find your romantic interest in him far more perplexing. he's a jaded, immortal weapon who guiltlessly sheds blood. he knows you deserve better and that you're likable enough to find another partner. said partner would be subject to his scrutiny, but he wouldn't be vehemently opposed.

yandere blade thinks a similar way. what changes is his self-restraint — or lack, thereof. would you be happier with another? yes. can he love you the way you deserve? absolutely not. that doesn't remedy the incessant urge to possess you. you don't even have to like him back, per se, just having you around satisfies him. you quench this hunger that his non-yandere self ignores (with great difficulty).

Finally, revealing your true intentions, yet perfectly concealed in this manner, is my favorite moment in the entire series. The tension and atmosphere that follow are truly captivating..

The initial portion of the series is truly remarkable. I sincerely wish it were possible to erase it from my memory, so that I could have the pleasure of reading it for the first time once more... *sigh*

For me personally that specific story was written so well it truly felt as if I'm part of it. It didn't rush anything and it felt "realistic" because of the build up tension between them. It made me feel as if I was an integral part of the story. The pacing was deliberate and unhurried, allowing for a gradual buildup of tension between the characters, which lent a sense of realism to the narrative..

It is undoubtedly my favorite work of yours. I apologize if this message is a bit lengthy, but I simply could not resist praising you a little.

So I was just listening to that in bed ...and imagined how Kaeya is opening up to us about his past.. and his feelings towards us while waiting for Diluc at the winery. It's so nostalgic... if you have the time make sure to check it out it's so beautiful. I was wondering what makes his fake self crumble? Or what could his darling do that makes him lose his temper/he's out of "character" and they finally see his awful side? He's been trying so hard to keep the smiley attitude but now they know. I can see him be extremely intimidating if everything went downhill for him / things didn't go as planned for him. ----------------------- Ahhh yes I love resilient darlings <3 He absolutely can be driven over the edge... with time. Childe does like maintaining a certain image, he's got a bit of an inflated ego. Unfortunately, he can often match the image of himself in his head, so it's not exactly an unfounded ego. But what with his talk of world-conquering and all, needless to say he can let his prowess go to his head a bit, and that makes him prideful -- which is exactly how you have to wear him down. And he's actually very resilient, in terms of your attempts to wear him down, namely because he realizes what you're doing, and that just makes him resist the temptation to snap that much more. Not to mention, if we're being realistic, he can outdo you in terms of being annoying. It's discouraging because at first, everything you do, he just turns back on you, or plays into your little acts. You wanna be annoying? He can do the same things right back to you. You're being mean, violent with him? Jokes on you, he likes that, just gives him opportunities to mess with you. Pretending to like someone else to make him jealous? Hey, having a rival is exciting, he can prove how much better he is and remove the competition, two birds with one stone, at the same time... not to mention seeing your reactions to death and gore is always amusing. And defiance? You should know all that does is make him more horny than upset. So the normal methods you might try -- annoying him, being defiant, etc -- doesn't work out well for you. Probably the best, quickest, and most fool-proof way to actually break him is silence and ignoring. Note that this is still hard to pull off because he will do everything in his power to fix it, and you'll have to have some immense iron will and tolerance yourself to successfully pull it off. Because if you're not, he can easily be the one to break you of your attempt. First, you try short, curt responses, cold shoulder, refusal to get emotional or react to his antics... but he can get around that fast by doing things to upset you. Then, complete silent treatment, pretending you don't even hear him. Once again quickly ended by him being so annoying and pushy that you snap at him, not realizing that you're giving him what he wants until you see him smirk. Aw, that didn't last very long... maybe you just wanted attention...? The next time you ignore him, he takes it a step further by offering something you wanted -- oh, well, I was going to ask if you wanted to go outside for a while, but I guess if you can't even hear me I'll just have to go by myself... to which you leap at the chance. At least the way your eyes get all teary when you get frustrated once you realize what you've done is cute. 

Each and every time, he seems to be able to get you to break your act quickly, he either upsets you or annoys you or otherwise just pushes and pushes and pushes until you give the reaction, and thereby interaction, he's looking for. You have to have a certain degree of determination to get yourself to bite your tongue and maintain the ignoring, silent treatment act, and to not fall for the ways he tries to turn it against you. Which he does again, once you push past the first stage and he realizes he's not going to annoy you into snapping. Oh, okay, so you're a little more mad or stubborn than usual. Okay... well, since you want to be left alone so bad, he'll leave you alone. Or so he says with a shrug and a sigh, making some comment -- just hoping to get one last little jab in hopes it will maybe push you over the edge -- about how ah, guess you're being really moody today... if you wanna be left alone so bad, I can do that... I'll come back when you're ready to be mature about it, 'kay? and walks off... he pauses and hesitates, just a split second, when he gets to the door. This is the part where you're supposed to call out 'wait!' and stumble over to him saying you're sorry, or if you're really mad, maybe turn around and snap and snarl out your frustrations at him, maybe get so upset you cry out of frustration... but no, you stay quiet, you keep your back turned to him. So, you're being extra stubborn. Well, if that's how you wanna be, fine. It makes a jolt of anger run through him, that same itch for some form of violence he gets often, but now he understands this has turned into a competition.

That's how he sees it in his head -- this isn't one of your normal attention-seeking episodes, no, both of you are going against each other and want the other to be the one that cares more, is bothered more. Well, fine, he can easily win that. Getting mad would feel like losing. It's letting you win. Letting you get under his skin is a sort of power move, a victory for you. And there is almost nothing he hates more than losing. So he simply won't get mad. No matter how many days pass. No matter how much you ignore him. He'll win. You're already crumbling, he's sure. You miss his attention already. Little silent passive aggressive actions that say more than words could -- he doesn't give you the same (often unwanted) affection and greetings throughout each day, doesn't show you the same amount of attention, isolates you for some periods of time. But you still don't give. It makes him grind his teeth, makes him seethe. He goes off on his own to sort of vent his anger because he doesn't want you to see that you're getting under his skin, doesn't want you to think you're winning because you're not. He's certain you're on the verge of caving, yourself, so he won't need to hold out for much longer... soon you'll crack, you'll blow up in his face and tell him all the reasons why you're mad, you'll vent and you'll weakly beat on his chest with your fists and you'll devolve into blubbering and crying and he'll be right there to smile and tell you it's okay, but now hopefully you've learned a lesson right...? But you're too stubborn. You don't cave like he knows you want to and, in a moment of weakness, frustrated over this or that and a lot of external stress as well, he finally snaps. You're just quietly walking away, refusing to look at him, but you finally at least show some reaction when he grabs your arm and jerks you back so hard you fall flat on your back to the floor. Not that you get time to recover before he grabs you, yanks you back up, grabs both your upper arms and slams you into the wall. Just one look at his expression silences any anger or mockery you might have expressed, you instead go stiff and silent with fear, wide-eyed. You think this whole thing is funny, don't you? You're probably soooo proud of yourself, you think you're so clever. For figuring out how to be fucking irritating. He's put up with your antics for days, and you're so, so lucky he's been willing to tolerate it for this long, hasn't set you straight for being a bratty, obnoxious little--

He cuts off halfway through a sentence. Hit with the realization that he's lost. You feel his grip tighten. But, no, he hasn't lost. No, because this entire thing in the first place was just... He smiles again, laughs. Back to his normal so fast it leaves your head spinning. You only get to really see it break but for a short time.

It was just a cry for attention, in and of itself. You were so cute, pouting and wallowing... he says it in that same voice you hate so much, that makes you seethe in anger, all mocking and condescending, like talking to a kid or a dog. He says he could tell how upset you were, how you were trying so hard to get him to get mad at you because you were insecure and wanted affirmation that you matter. He just played along to see how upset you could get, and it was fun, but you know, he realizes now... that this was mean of him, he shouldn't have fed into it so much. It was just... entertaining. It's all because you want his attention. It's a weird psychology thing where you push him away because you're scared of affection and vulnerability and stuff like that. It's immature... but, luckily for you, it's cute. 

It's not hard to convince himself that that's why you did this, that's why you're still fighting and struggling even now as he carries you off to bed. But he's not going to play along with it again, not for so long... for your sake. It's probably emotionally damaging to be ignored for so long. You’re probably feeling so hurt by it all... but he can make it up to you. He’ll just be sure to not let things go this far in the future.

yan wriothesley takes a surprisingly offhanded approach regarding your day-to-day activities.

he doesn’t feel the overwhelming itch to breathe down your neck every second. in fact, there’s a certain pleasure to be found in watching you go about your business from a distance. observing how you conduct yourself, the way you interact with others, any schemes that might be building in that conniving mind of yours… this would be sacrificed if he just tossed you into a moldy cell. that’s the easy route. he hasn’t gotten to his esteemed position by taking the easy route.

everything about your relationship remains unspoken yet understood. the guards know he’s taken a shining to you, the inmates know it as well. oftentimes, if wriothesley is taking what looks to be a leisurely stroll, those who have been around long enough know he’s keeping an eye on you from a safe distance. not far away enough to make it seem like he’s hiding his behavior out of shame, yet not close enough for you to call him out on it. he’s a delayed shadow.

your fellow inmates are opportunists at heart. you might not be willing to press the advantage wriothesley’s favoritism brings, but they’re certainly interested in what it may provide. for this reason, you’re treated well. for instance, if you scrunch up your nose to a meal served from the cafeteria that day, they’ll rush to offer theirs. they try to make it come off as natural, yet it’s an unsuccessful pantomime. should they be new to the underwater prison, you can’t help but pity them for their misguided efforts; the duke won’t bestow any blessings to those who worship the ground you walk on.

it’s an unspoken rule. the inmates shouldn’t dare be rude to you or put you in harms way. on the flip side, if wriothelesly feels they’re cozying up to you too much…

I just think it's really wholesome how many positive messages you receive (deserved ofc!). I'd also love to add that I appreciate how especially your Prof. Geto fic is literally pure imagination and they're not doing much other than stealing some hot kisses like twice and the fic is so good not rushed no unnecessary smut just pure tension and adoration between them. Nowadays it's difficult to write something successful on here that doesn't include much smut you know it's nice you can even skip the imagined smut parts and it's still a banger. smut usually always has to serve some sort of purpose for me to the plot - it can't be just pure smut (unless that's just the nature of the fic), i usually always need some plot in my smut because it just adds more value to the fic overall :). but hey i also like reading pwnp so i think it all depends on what you want :)

Alright, mimyun asked a question earlier, and I promised to answer - she wanted to know my “top 3 Van Gogh paintings and why...” - well, I can’t narrow it down to only a solid, unchanging 3, but here are 3 for now that are really special to me.

Almond Blossoms, 1890 Not only is the compostion superb, and the coloring absolutely magnificient, but more importantly, this was to commemorate the birth of Theo’s son (also named Vincent). Knowing it was created for such a heartfelt reason, along with the fact that Vincent never had kids, and likely knew he never would, makes it my number one still life/tree painting. 

Patch of Grass, 1887 Maybe more than any other single piece, this work shows why Vincent is the father of expressionism; it’s so full of energy, color, and excitement that it immediately comes to mind any time someone asks me a question like this. Not only is it expressionistic, it borders on abstract; another neat point is that it’s covering another work.

Wheatfield with Crows, 1890 This is most likely Van Gogh’s last painting, made only weeks before he ultimately took his own life. Surely, sadness is in this piece, but it also feels like a hopeful goodbye, a desire to “fly-off,” possibly to a place where pain and sadness are but distant memories. To me, this was Vincent’s good-bye to you and me, to all of us left to admire his works, and to go, more or less, through the same human condition that he did.
