Buck witnesses tommy get hit on at a call and hears tommy say he’s got a husband, Evan… but he and tommy aren’t even engaged yet.

The comment stops Evan in his tracks. They’re out on a three-alarm fire, having contained a generous portion of the blaze, when Evan is in the process of heading back into the building to ensure security on higher floors with Eddie. 

They’re midconversation, Eddie giving him all the bullshit today, and generally not paying attention to their surroundings as they walk through the outside of the destroyed apartment complex. 

“I’m just saying, I could lay you out easy,” Eddie states as he turns on his heel, glancing up at Evan with a smirk on his face. 

“Sure, maybe,” Evan replies, pulling his hat back on his head as they near the door. “But also, I have Tommy.” 

“Pfft,” Eddie snorts. “I’ll lay Kinard and you out in one hit,” he retorts, sass rising. 

“Better watch how you’re talking to my husband there,” Tommy’s voice comes then. Evan’s eyes widen as he glances to his right, spots Tommy some five feet away with a few of his coworkers, working to take down a severely damaged wall. Eddie lets out an incredulous laugh at the statement as Evan points back and forth between the two of them slack-jawed. 

“Di-…did he-?” 

“Buck, Eddie, let’s move it,” Hen says as she pops around a corner from the second floor. Eddie laughs and slaps a hand on Evan’s shoulder before turning and jogging off towards their coworker.

kids these days are like “i need chat gpt to write an essay that would normally take 12 hours in 2” but back in my day i did that all the time by using a little technique called “writing some absolute bullshit.” and yet i still walked away with a better essay and more critical thinking skills than i would get if i used chatgpt. write a bad essay that you started on the day it was due, but write it yourself.
