Well, whoever took the photo did so from a downward spot, or was kneeling, or may just have been short. Maybe a kid took the photo, I don't know. This was like thirty years ago, I don't exactly remember that party. Anyway, sorry I got sidetracked. But the person who took the photo is doing an upward angle shot. The person in costume is holding four balloons. I'm colourblind and can tell one of the balloons is pink, I'm lost on the others. I assume yellow is involved cause yellow hates me. Okay but back to the main point. The image has a dust is settling look to it. Almost mystified. The person in costume looks trapped standing in time, begging for help with the balloons. The image is haunting. They are leaning ever so slightly forward almost out of frame. It looks like they are on the verge of passing out, I think. There's so much going on here to try and describe. The only thing I'm left with when I look at this is the utter shock and confusion that this is a genuine thing and not a haunted internet image. Well maybe it should be. Anyway, the suit looks super uncomfortable and way too warm to wear. Kudos to whoever did.

given that people keep telling me i'd like the hotel and i should listen to it i'm actually remarkably indifferent? nothing about it has grabbed me by the throat yet. maybe this is just because i'm only at the end-ish of season 1 and therefore have not experienced it enough but i'm not really seeing it

tommy shelby reminds me terribly of melancholy acoustic folk music. he might as well be the central character joan baez warbles, “forget the dead you’ve left / they will not follow you” warningly to in it’s all over now, baby blue. he’s somewhere in the forlorn voice of marlene dietrich as she asks, “where have all the young men gone? / gone to soldiers every one / when will they ever learn?” he could very well be the one asking “who by common trial? / who in your merry, merry month of may? / who by very slow decay?” in leonard cohen’s who by fire. he’s even in the delicate ballad of george harrison’s sir frankie crisp, the one where he implores his listener to “let it roll for all it’s worth.”

i do think its really funny in both the mcu and 616 that both of bucky's operative handlers (pierce in the mcu, red skull / lukin in the 616) are both so pompous and self-absorbed they think their best course of action is to, i dont know, employ the guy who knows captain america better than anyone else and at one point in his life was the most important person in it, to kill him? like i get its because the winter soldier is extremely efficient and, considering bucky knows exactly how steve fights (he was initially trained by him in the 616 and copied all his moves before he expanded into his own advanced territory), would be one of the only people who is likely able to apprehend him if the circumstances are right.

but like. idk i think its very good writing they both have such narcissistic egos in both mediums that they don't even consider it would be a bad idea, that steve would do anything to save bucky, etc. its worse in the 616 since red skull knew bucky very well and claiming him as the winter soldier is like a vengeful thing.

“Thank you,” you say, filling the quiet with as many innocuous words as possible. “I appreciate you waiting for me, after everything, I didn’t mean to keep you…”

You face him again as he closes the door and turns back into the light. For the first time you notice his jacket is gone, and he’s in plain shirtsleeves with his tie removed and two buttons undone. The lines of his neck are still partially obscured, but you follow them down until you lose sight of them, and instead focus on the vivid blue thread of his waistcoat where its almost metallic sheen reflects the light. It reminds you of something.

“It’s no trouble.”

His eyes are paler than that blue, but they hold some of the same bright light.

“Do you… I mean, um, where—”

“On the counter.”

Perhaps that should have been obvious, even to your clouded thoughts; if Cain thought you foolish for asking, he didn’t show it. Despite his more casual appearance and that tempting peek of exposed skin, his demeanour doesn’t deviate even a little from your morning memory of him.

No, there’s one exception: his eyes aren’t inspecting his work, they’re on your face, your glowing cheeks, and they aren’t moving. Gentle tingling touches move up your back, phantom fingers retracing his earlier steps, but it’s just a memory: he’s still two paces away, hands safely out of reach.

Hollow…

Hollow. Empty. Drifting through these whitewashed hallways of the hospital with no purpose, no direction, just a lingering presence that no one seems to notice. Nurses and doctors rush past, their eyes sliding over me as if I'm not even there. I suppose, in a way, I'm not.

My room is a small, sterile box with a window that never opens and a bed I never lie in. I sit by the window most days, watching the leaves on the trees outside change with the seasons, wondering if I’ll ever feel the sun on my face again. The other patients are a blur of faces, none familiar, none acknowledging my presence. I try to speak sometimes, to reach out, but my words fall flat, unheard, like whispers on the wind.

I don’t remember how I got here. There are flashes, moments of clarity that fade before I can grasp them—a car ride, a sharp pain, darkness. I search for answers in the eyes of the nurses, in the hushed conversations I overhear, but they offer no clues.

Sometimes, I feel a pull, a whisper in the back of my mind urging me to leave, to move on, but I don't know where to go. How do you leave a place when you’re not even sure how you arrived?

In the quiet moments, when the world outside slows to a hush, I feel the weight of my hollow existence. The loneliness is a cold, suffocating presence, wrapping around me like a shroud. I watch the world go by, untouched and untouchable, and wonder if this is all there is.

If only I could remember. If only I could find the pieces of myself that seem to have been scattered to the wind. Maybe then I’d understand why I’m here, why I feel so empty, so invisible. Until then, I remain the Hollow Girl, a ghost of a person, trapped in the limbo of my own existence.

This is probably something out of the blue but

Can you imagine all the obey me characters (except MC, I'm saving them from the trauma) going through the Corpse Party experience? Aka doing some weird charm, ending up in a haunted school, witnessing too many dead bodies and unable to get out because haha haunted school cancelling their demon powers so they have to appease the evil spirits the hard way?

While I have never experienced Corpse Party, I think I get the general idea!

I have to say I think even just losing their demon powers would be pretty crazy for most of them. But then to be in a haunted school, too? Yikes!

My immediate first concern is Mammon because we all know how that guy is about haunted stuff. He'd be scared out of his mind, but trying to pretend he isn't. And MC isn't there to comfort him?? Who's gonna protect him?? His brothers?? They're more likely to spook him further on purpose lol.

I see Satan getting serious and being like okay this is a mystery to solve. We don't have our powers, but we have to get out of this somehow.

I dunno if anybody would have an issue with actual dead bodies or not... Levi kinda strikes me as potentially squeamish, but he's also a demon and has likely experienced corpses before.

This may be weird, but I kinda imagine Belphie would fall asleep in a pile of corpses if they weren't too decomposed. Hmm I'm both concerned and amused by this mental image.

As always, I may be biased, but Barbatos is known for being ultra competent at everything he does. I can't imagine he would have any issues getting out of such a situation. And if he's with everybody else, I imagine he'd be a calming presence to all.

If we're dealing with non demon characters too, does this mean that Solomon would also not have access to magic and such? Because while i don't think he'd be too concerned about haunted schools or corpses, I do think he'd feel incomplete without magic. And that'd make him antsy.

However there is something to be said for mob mentality in a situation like this. Since we're saying all the characters ended up in this place at the same time, we can assume that more level headed ones like Lucifer and Diavolo might be able to keep the rest calm. But I could totally see them all losing control of the situation if the others were chaotic enough. Mammon running off screaming, Asmo worrying more about the state of his clothes than getting out, Beel starting to eat things that quickly make him sick... even just Belphie falling asleep. Some of them wandering off and getting lost.

Oh I also hadn't considered Luke or the three undatables in this scenario... but if they were included too, you know Simeon would just be completely preoccupied with protecting Luke. Raphael might be more helpful but I kinda see him raining down spears on every ghost he encounters and being more of a hindrance than anything. (Assuming the spears don't require magic.) Mephisto thinks the whole thing is stupid and leaves everyone to their own devices. Thirteen might actually be the only one who's helpful since she's a reaper and possibly knows something about ghosts and such?

It's a good thing you left out MC because they'd be the only one capable of keeping those fools in check. Let MC rest for once!

Sorry I got a little carried away but apparently I had a lot of thoughts about this lol.
