Take the broken mask drawing as symbolism (?). A piece of him is now forever a part of Mask, and there's no taking that back.

There are many protrayals of Fierce Deity out there, but I like to think he ain't necessarily mean (quite the contrary), just a bit out of touch with how hylians work and feel. Fierce Deity deemed some things necessary for Mask's survival and well being, and not necessarily all of them were free of consequences. It was done with good intentions tho. If only he bothered to explain/tell Mask that...

07/22/2025 THWWICH Ch 8 Progress Update:

TLDR: 2.5K more drafted, at about 16.5K so far.

Cruising at a good pace now, I feel. I connected a lot of things today, wrote some panicked prose, the works. Most of today I just focused on getting dialogue written down. One of the things I try to do while drafting is get the dialogue completely ‘perfected’, disregarding prose entirely. I didn’t have some of the later-chapter dialogue written so I jumped forward and got a lot of the dialogue done.

One of my fav things to do when writing dialogue is to imagine it as a visual novel. Like, seeing the dialogue in the same format as you would DRV3. Weirdly it kinda helps, just putting down a bunch of script like it’s a visual novel and then inserting the prose later.

Would’ve liked to write more tonight but ended up unexpectedly making dinner for a bunch of people lol. I don’t like cooking necessarily but I do like making food for a big group, there’s just something about the running back and forth between tons of different tasks that is kinda exhilarating. And it’s always nice to hear at the end that they liked what you made. Maybe I was a caterer in my past life 🤣

Hope everyone has a good night! I was feeling pretty sick today and am hopeful for a better tomorrow. I’m looking forward to writing more, I truly love this stuff, it brings me so much joy 🥰

Hearth = Looks to the Moon! the theoretical hard and/or hunter campaign in this au. weakened from an injury and on limited time, she must traverse the hostile lands to deliver a message to a fallen god in one last act of kindness before succumbing to her injuries.

Drifter = Unparalleled Innocence. the survivor analog. they travel where they please, and found their way to new lands. they explore the lands and leave without much fanfare about them

Surveyor = No Significant Harassment! monk equivalent, but with some twists. surveying a slowly freezing environment where the creatures are already familiar with him, he is on a sedate and routine mission given by the iterator that created him, Nineteen Sharpened Hostilities.

Exiled = Five Pebbles. artificer with less bombs and scavs, and more leaping and vultures. consumed with anger and spite, his mission is to find take down the reason he was exiled in the first place: the King Miros Vulture. along his way, he finds a strange device and a fallen god who starts calling him her little citizen

Skydiver = Chasing Wind! gourmand food quest with rivulet movement. stranded with broken artificial wings, they move with purpose and swiftness to find enough materials to repair their wings, and convince an iterator to unlock the retaining wall on the way.

Inquirer = Seven Red Suns! the spearmaster campaign. with the world in their stomach and various other modifications, they are to locate and repair iterator Explosive Redamancy - a task given by their creator, iterator Seeking Requested Sojourn.

Martyr = Sliver of Straw. the saint, on a path to ascend. do they have a connection with the iterator Sunrise over Sleet, who sent out the triple affirmative?
