You can try to bring me down.
You can try to break me.
You can try to render me senseless useless and defenseless.
Yes, you can try.
But I promise you:
I will become a phoenix
Rising from the ashes.
I will become a mockingjay
Surviving against all odds.

The bird in thg is a very interesting symbol that flies through the whole story.
First of all, in many cultures, the bird has become entrenched as a symbol of freedom. Then it is not surprising that it was the bird - the mockingjay, that became the symbol of the uprising against the oppression of the regime. And this bird has a voice - the voice of oppressed people.
- The Mockingjay will not lose her voice.
The voice of this bird is a song. Not only metaphorically, but also literally - such as the hanging tree song or mockingjay whistle (the same idea was later transferred to tbosas, but Lucy Gray Baird is a different kind of bird, a songbird).
Mockingjays cannot repeat words, only a motive, but the melody is repeated over and over again, louder and louder and it will not be possible to drown it out. Just like it is almost impossible to extinguish a flame lit by a spark.
From here comes the connection of fire and birds - the phoenix bird. I don't know how to develop this idea further, but Katniss has become this combination. Has freedom risen from the ashes? Or history repeats itself, just like the cycle of the phoenix's life?
The phoenix is a symbol of renewal, and it was the bird that renewed Panem.
By the way, the emblem of the Capitol is also a bird - an eagle, which is a reference to the Roman Empire, where the eagle on the banner symbolized the power and dominance of the god Jupiter, the main god of the pantheon.
In general, "bird parallels" often appear in relation to Katniss:
- I am Cinna’s bird, ignited, flying frantically to escape something inescapable. The feathers of flame that grow from my body. Beating my wings only fans the blaze. I consume myself, but to no end.
But it seems to me curious and important that such comparisons apply not only to the main character, but also to other characters, for example, Primrose:
- I notice her blouse has pulled out of her skirt in the back again and force myself to stay calm. “Tuck your tail in, little duck,” I say, smoothing the blouse back in place. Prim giggles and gives me a small “Quack.”
- The small white bird tinged in pink dives down, buries her claws in my chest, and tries to keep me afloat.
Or Rue:
- Rue, who is dressed in a gossamer gown complete with wings, flutters her way to Caesar.
- "We sing at home. At work, too. That’s why I love your pin,” she says, pointing to the mockingjay that I’ve again forgotten about.
and even to the Capitolians:
- I stand there, completely naked, as the three circle me, wielding tweezers to remove any last bits of hair. I know I should be embarrassed, but they’re so unlike people that I’m no more self-conscious than if a trio of oddly colored birds were pecking around my feet. (+ their special Capitol accent).
Panem is a kind of "bird state", which is funny. But apart from jokes, symbolism of the birds is very interesting and versatile, there is always something to think about. The symbol is simple, but understandable and beautiful.
THG is a great example of how to harmoniously and beautifully fit this symbolism into the plot so that it becomes not only poetic beauty, but also a driving idea of the story.

Book Recs
Hello! so for my first post, I'll recommend some books, so y'all can have a closer look at some fandoms I'll post about! enjoy!!
1.
Tumblr media
Harry Potter By J.K. Rowling is definitely an interesting, well-written series! there are 7 books however, and the books get bigger as the series progresses. It's sometimes difficult to know the exact order, so I'll list it below:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Although the movies are great, they don't include all the amazing details, as with all movies. A short summary:
Harry Potter, a young boy who’s being constantly abused by his uncle Vernon and aunt Petunia, gets a peculiar letter from the magical school of Hogwarts, where he spends most of his time, becoming his home.
Quotes:
“To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." ― Albus Dumbledore
“You’re just as sane as I am" - Luna Lovegood
“Mischief managed" - Fred and George Weasley
It is Important to know that j*r is a huge transphobe, along with other things, and is currently being erased by the fandom itself.
2.
Tumblr media
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, along with the other series by Rick Riordan, is a definite must-read. With each book, you can really notice the character developments and a lot more! There is loads of representation in this one, with lgbtqia+ characters, black characters, Muslim characters and more. It's very action-packed and addicting, sucking you into the magnificent world of Half-Bloods and Demigods within the first page. The first series consists of 5 books, in the following order:
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief
Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters
Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse
Percy Jackson and the Battle of The Labyrinth
Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian
THE MOVIES ARE TRASH SO I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND WATCHING THEM BEFORE READING THE BOOKS!!! There were many changes and the movies aren't nearly as good as the books. A short summary:
Percy Jackson, a 12 year-old who lives with his mother, Sally, and step-father, Gabe, attends the private boarding school Yancy Academy. While on a school trip, his teacher, Mrs. Dodds, turns into a fury and attacks him. This, in turn, triggers a series of other problems and adventures.
Quotes:
“If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself.” - Percy Jackson
“With great power, comes great need to nap. Wake me up later." - Nico Di Angelo
“Even strength has to bow down to wisdom sometimes." - Annabeth Chase
3.
Tumblr media
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is one of my most recommended series! With everything it deals with, from the Capitol to the districts to the champions, the books are amazing!
Order:
The Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mockingjay
Starring the movies is the amazing Jennifer Lawrence, but with all books, the movies have slight differences, although I definitely recommend watching them when you're done with the books.
A Short Summary:
In what was once North America, the Capitol of Panem maintains its hold on its 12 districts by forcing them each to select a boy and a girl, called Tributes, to compete in a nationally televised event called the Hunger Games. Every citizen must watch as the youths fight to the death until only one remains. District 12 Tribute Katniss Everdeen has little to rely on, other than her hunting skills and sharp instincts, in an arena where she must weigh survival against love.
(FILM SYNOPSIS)
Quotes:
"May the odds be ever in your favor." - Effie Trinket
"Fire is catching, and if we burn, you burn with us!" - Katniss Everdeen
“Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.” - President Snow
4.
Tumblr media
Divergent is another book with a huge fandom, and rightfully so. This book is amazing, and you honestly can't live without having read it!
Order:
Divergent
Insurgent
Allegiant
Surprisingly, I haven't watched the movies yet, but I hear that they aren’t that bad, so you should give them a go!
Summary:
In a world run by fictional classes known as factions, children who reach the age of 16 begin to choose which factions they wish to call home for the rest of their lives. Each faction comes with its own ups and downs, so it's definitely a hard choice, especially for someone as unique as Beatrice.
Quotes:
“Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it“ - Four
“We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.” - Dauntless Motto
"We are not the same. But we are, somehow, one." - Tris
5.
Tumblr media
You might have heard of this series, and it's really addictive, trust me! The Mortal Instruments is one of the most astonishing books I've ever read, and it's most definitely my go-to when recommending a book series!
Order:
City of Bones
City of Ashes
City of Glass
City of Fallen Angels
City of Lost Souls
City of Heavenly Fire
Again, (I know this is rather disappointing) I haven't watched the movies, but do check them out!
Summary:
Clary Fray's search for her missing mother leads her into an alternate New York called Downworld, filled with mysterious faeries, hard-partying warlocks, not-what-they-seem vampires, an army of werewolves, and the demons who want to destroy it all.
via: https://shadowhunters.com/shadowhunters-novels/the-mortal-instruments/#:~:text=Clary%20Fray's%20search%20for%20her,want%20to%20destroy%20it%20all.
Quotes:
“Heroes aren't always the ones who win. They're the ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don't give up. That's what makes them heroes.” - Clary Fairchild
“If I cannot move Heaven, I will raise Hell.” - Sebastion Morgenstern
“The descent into Hell is easy.” - Motto of the Nephilim
6.
Tumblr media
Gay. What more needs to be said?
SADLY, there isn't a movie yet, but I think they're working on one, or sure though
Summary:
Set in a world in which a female Democrat from Texas wins the presidency in 2016, Red, White & Royal Blue chronicles the illicit romance between the president's son, Georgetown senior Alex Claremont-Diaz (Dad is a Mexican-American senator), and Prince Henry of Wales, his childhood nemesis.
Via: https://www.wsj.com/articles/red-white-royal-blue-book-summer-beach-read-11565285001#:~:text=Set%20in%20a%20world%20in,of%20Wales%2C%20his%20childhood%20nemesis.
Also, classic enemies-friends-lovers arc and honestly it's amazing
Quotes:
“As your mother, I can appreciate that maybe this isn’t your fault, but as the president, all I want is to have the CIA fake your death and ride the dead-kid sympathy into a second term.” - Ellen Claremont
" 'that’s because you can’t hear all the menacing gobbling.' 'Yes, famously the most sinister of all animal sounds, the gobble.' " - Harry and Alex
"History, huh? Bet we could make some." - Alex
7.
Tumblr media
I’m sure you've heard at least a little bit about this book. While not nearly as famous as ones mentioned above, it's still just as good, of not better. I'd say this book is one of my favorites, to be honest. It speaks about a lot of topics people usually find disturbing, and it makes me so happy that it's there, it's written, it's amazing. PTSD, coming out issues, abusive relationships and more, this book is truly awesome.
TRIGGER WARNING
Summary:
A young boy named Charlie usually dissociates, and pushes other people away. He’s afraid of beginning high school, until he meets two other students who show him how bizarre and amazing the world is.
Quotes:
“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite” - Charlie
“We accept the love we think we deserve” - Mr. Anderson
“You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love" - Sam
8.
Tumblr media
This book is honestly pro-feminist and I think that's much more than enough
Summary:
Kaur explores the true impact of sexual abuse and harassment, as well as the difficulties of immigrating, being a female, and depression.
It's also a poem
TRIGGER WARNING
Quotes:
“what is stronger
than the human heart
which shatters over and over
and still lives”
“you do not just wake up and become the butterfly
- growth is a process”
“on the last day of love
my heart cracked inside my body"
9.
Tumblr media
This book isn't very well-known, which really sucks because I really love how it speaks about the consequences of WWII from the German point of view. And about the Germans who did not believe in Hitler's ways. It's also based on a real story, and it's so cool
Summary:
A nurse working in a nursing home meets a peculiar old lady who decides to tell her her story when she meets the nurse's younger son, Karl, who reminded her of her brother. Lizzie (the old lady) speaks about life in Dresden before the war, and even after it. She also tells them the story about the strange, magnificent elephant in her garden.
Quotes:
“That was the only way of keeping our hopes alive, by looking beyond all we were seeing around us, and the shadow of disaster that hung over us.” -
“I think I have always had a strong sense of justice, of fair play, of what is right and what is wrong.” -
“Our home should be an oasis of peace and harmony for us in a troubled world.” - Lizzie (Quoting Papi)
10.
Tumblr media
This book is pro-blm and it's ahead of its time (by like 2 years but still).
Summary:
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. via: https://socialjusticebooks.org/the-hate-u-give/#:~:text=Sixteen%2Dyear%2Dold%20Starr%20Carter,hands%20of%20a%20police%20officer.
Quotes:
“Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right.” - Lisa
“Daddy once told me there’s a rage passed down to every black man from his ancestors, born the moment they couldn’t stop the slave masters from hurting their families. Daddy also said there’s nothing more dangerous than when that rage is activated.” - Starr
“Everybody wants to talk about how Khalil died,” I say. “But this isn’t about how Khalil died. It’s about the fact that he lived. His life mattered. Khalil lived!” I look at the cops again. “You hear me? Khalil lived!” - Starr

Spring/Fall TBR/New releases I’m looking forward to.
Hey Tumblrians!
Depending on where you are in the world (northern part = Spring southern part = Fall/Autumn) I decided to make a TBR list highlighting the books I’d be reading while stopping and smelling the roses (this does not include the book I’m reading now: The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas considering I started that at the end of February)
MOST ANTICIPATED NEW RELEASES FOR MOI
1. THE BELLES by Dhonielle Clayton (already released)
I am going to read this simply because it’s a book I’m reading with my book club and I better start reading!
2. OBSIDIO by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (March 13th)
This one is a no brainer! I love this series so much I reread it (I originally read this in 2016 but decided to reread for book 3s release)
3. CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE by Tomi Adeyemi (March 6th)
This is probably the most anticipated YA debuts of 2018 and I have my eyes on it.
4. LIFE L1K3 by Jay Kristoff (May 29th)
Book club read of May 2018
5. ICE WOLVES by Amie Kaufman (March 27th)
I met Amie Kaufman once. She’s amazing and I feel I owe it to her to keep reading her books
6. LEAH ON THE OFFBEAT by Becky Albertalli (April 24th)
Like Obsidio this is a no brainer I think I’ll be that crazy fangirl who becomes this demonic monster in the bookstores. Yeah, please don’t approach me in this form.
7. LEGENDARY by Stephanie Garber (May 29th)
OMG! I love Caraval like a kid loves candy floss! ARGH! I actually didn’t know this was out in May!
8. A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT by Sarah J Maas (May 1st)
No I am NOT going to reread the ACOTAR series. I have so many other books to read. (please refer to this list if you don’t believe me) also look, Sarah J Maas has so many unnecessary love scenes.
9. FURYBORN by Claire Legrand
Heard great things about this book. Hope book reviewers are being truthful!
10. PUDDIN’ by Julie Murphy
Never read Dumplin’ but that is on my TBR at the moment
11. ON THE COME UP by Angie Thomas
Still haven’t read The Hate U Give
12. THE COLLIDE by Kimberley McCreight
Do I still like The Outliers? Good question should probably check out The Scattering while I’m at it
FALL/SPRING BOOKS/SERIES I WILL (HOPEFULLY) READ
1. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Believe it or not I STILL haven’t read this book! I attempted last year in July but I just wasn’t into it. I will try again and see if I like it. I wanna be hyped up for War Storm!
2. Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
To be honest, I’m not reading this just to finish the Grisha trilogy. I want to get started on Six of Crows so that I can FINALLY understand the hype around it.
3. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
I had my eyes on this for a while so hopefully this would go well!
4. Throne of Glass + Crown of Midnight + Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas
The biggest YA book series out there... and... I haven’t read it yet despite my new blog title. HEY AT LEAST I’M TRYING PPL!!
5. City of Fallen Angels + City of Lost Souls + City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
It’s about time I finish this series! THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: 2015-2018 MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.
6. DUMPLIN’ by Julie Murphy
I think this will be a feel good book! (Hopefully) and I think it has an important message for readers nowadays!
7. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
One of the most powerful YA debuts EVER (I swear!) I heard so many things about it!!
8. The Scattering by Kimberley McCreight
Read The Outliers last year. I think It’s time to pick the series up again!
9. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Should finish The Hunger Games series since everybody else has read it...
10. Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix
Read Harry Potter up to book 4... that was 2 years ago. I’M NOT REREADING BECAUSE IT TAKES ME FOREVER TO READ A SERIES K? So I decided to commit to Harry Potter so that I can officially call me a book nerd. I’m gonna read the rest of the series later on because I don’t know how long my Spring/fall TBR would take me.
____
There are so many books I haven’t mentioned that I haven’t read yet! But this is a broad outline of what you can expect soon on this blog/Tumblr. These are books that I had my eyes on for what feels like forever! And I bet you’ll shove it into my hands. (I’m sorry if I haven’t read one of your faves! I’m really bad with series’s)

Sorry to bother you but do you know of any fics where Peeta is the mockingjay instead of Katniss?
This blog is so helpful, thank you.
Hello Anon!
You are no bother at all! Sorry it took a while to answer this, I've been busier than anticipated with life and had to do some deep dives to find Mockingjay!Peeta.
Hopefully these are new to you (and actually fit the request):
Becoming the Mockingjay-dinosinspace (ao3)
Summary: What if there was a point of view change at the end of Catching Fire? Peeta is rescued while Katniss is taken by the Capitol and miraculously survives. How does the boy with the bread react to Katniss being taken by the one thing she tried so hard to escape? What does Peeta have to overcome as the Mockingjay?
Fire is Catching-Melusine11 (ao3)
Summary: "If you'd been taken by the Capitol, and hijacked, and then tried to kill Peeta, is this the way he would be treating you?" What if Katniss hadn't been the one lifted out of the arena of the 75th hunger games by the Rebellion. Role reversal told from (mostly) Peeta's point of view. incomplete and on indefinite hiatus - 3/11/19
Phoenix-lunalark (ao3)
Summary: Mockingjay AU. " If you’d been taken by the Capitol, and hijacked, and then tried to kill Peeta, is this the way he would be treating you?" Peeta is rescued from the Quell, and Katniss is taken by the Capitol. With Peeta as the new symbol, does the Rebellion survive?
The Fire and Her Fuel-mem0rieslikeweap0ns (ao3)
Summary: An alternate version of Mockingjay where Peeta is saved by the rebels in the Quarter Quell (bc I love Peeta Mellark and I need him safe and happy and in love with Katniss)
The MockingJay (Peeta’s Version)-isitcrow (ao3)
Summary: Mockingjay, but Peeta is the chosen mockingjay and Katniss is taken to the captiol and hijacked.
Vox Libertas-ForFutureReference (ao3)
Summary: A chain of events in the final minutes of the Quarter Quell causes the victor rescue to go a bit differently than expected. Will Peeta be able to handle his role as the face of the Rebellion? And how will this effect the course of the war and beyond? Canon-divergent "Mockingjay" and Peeta POV.
Hope you enjoy! If I stumble on more I'll update this post!
As always, let me know if you have any questions, comments, or recommendations for authors or fics to add!

A Hunger Games prequel movie is a disaster waiting to happen
Lionsgate studio is planning a “Hunger Games” prequel based on a new novel by series author Suzanne Collins set. The upcoming novel is set to release next year. In a statement, Lionsgate said, “As the proud home of the Hunger Games movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne’s next book to be published.”
[This post contains video, click to play]
Lionsgate to release a prequel for The Hunger Games movie soon
Lionsgate is communicating the author and is looking forward to work closely with her for the movie. The novel is currently in the writing process. But there is no guarantee that the prequel would be a blockbuster just like the ones that preceded it. The four parts of the “Hunger Games” movies released one after another from 2012-2015. The movies were major hits and raked in a total of $3 billion from all over the world.
Credits: Collider
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 was the costliest of them all with a production budget of $160 million. The first movie had a budget of $78 million and earned around $694 million globally. But things are not the same as they were back then.
The Hunger Games Prequel Movie is bound to fail
It is not easy for any non-Disney tentpole movie to become a major hit. Movies such as Men in Black: International and Dark Phoenix did not go as well as its previous movies.
Credits: Hollywood Reporter
Lately, it has been really easy for Disney movies to dominate each year. The Marvel Cinematic Universe also has tuned in well with the audience since the last part of Hunger Games came out. The best comparison could be Harry Potter. While Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 made $1.3 billion, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them made only $800 million. Its sequel went down to $653 million.
Keeping in mind all this, it is all but given that The Hunger Games Prequel movie won’t be able to keep up with the success of its predecessors and fail miserably at the box office.

The End is Nigh-Teen
Tumblr media
Every year in film and television is a mix of beginnings and endings. For instance, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy came to a close the same year The Avengers first took flight. 2015 marked both the beginning of Disney’s new Star Wars films with The Force Awakens and the end of the Hunger Games film series with the release of Mockingjay - Part 2. But some years tend to feel like they will offer far more endings than beginnings and 2019 looks to be one of those years.
Obviously, there are some beginnings coming in 2019. Superheroes Shazam and Captain Marvel will make their live-action debuts in 2019 and there is no way to tell if audiences’ next television obsession will premiere in the coming year. However, from the look of what chapters are coming to a close in 2019, endings are overwhelmingly slated for next year. And this isn’t just easy endings, there are some heavy-hitting stories that will call 2019 their swan song.
Over the past ten years, the twenty films that are a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have grossed a combined $17.5 billion at the worldwide box office - to put that in perspective, Disney only spent $4 billion to purchase all of Marvel in 2009. The three highest grossing films of the franchise globally are the three Avengers films that collectively earned just shy of $5 billion dollars - domestically Black Panther has out-grossed them all. In 2019, audiences will finally see the follow-up to this year’s Avengers: Infinity War, the aptly titled Untitled Avengers Film. This blockbuster is being billed as the culmination of the twenty-plus Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Franchise mainstays like Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth are coming up to the ends of their contracts with Marvel (Downey’s already ended, but he has been extending on a film-by-film basis), so anything can happen in this film to their iconic characters, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Next year, one very large chapter in the history of modern motion pictures will close with the release of the Untitled Avengers Film.
Although HBO has seen its market share when it comes to peak TV diminish over the past few years due to streamers like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, HBO is still on the top of the proverbial TV hierarchy - even though they are quick to point out that “It’s not TV. It’s HBO. This was a fact that audiences were reminded of this past summer when HBO premiered the quiet stunner Succession, which was fantastic. However, HBO is set to lose two of their best shows in 2019. The first of which is the comedy, Veep, which is set to premiere its sixth and final season in 2019, a political satire that is becoming too true to life by the day. And the second is a show that has the biggest audiences of anything on television right now, the prestige drama, Game of Thrones. For seven seasons, millions of people have tuned into the fantasy drama and have been wowed by the stories of kings, queens, bastards, and dragons. In the age of DVR, my television viewing has been broken up to a few sub-categories - Shows I allow to pile up and then binge later, shows I try to watch the week it aired, shows I try to watch the night it airs, and shows I have to watch live. Only two shows have been in that final category and forced me to watch them live-to-time-slot no matter what, Lost and Game of Thrones. With the final six episodes set to premiere in April, audiences will tune in with glee to see who will sit on the Iron Throne by the series’ end.
Next December’s, Star Wars: Episode IX is the final installment in the so-called sequel trilogy and marks the completion of the nine-episode of the Skywalker saga that began in 1977. The Star Wars sequel trilogy was always a pipe-dream of sorts. Even as George Lucas made the prequels he dismissed the idea of creating a sequel trilogy and Episode VII became this illusive what-if. And then on October 30, 2012, it became a reality. I can still remember the headline “Disney Buys LucasFilm; ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ set for 2015.” and like that. It was real. Next year that story comes to a close with the end of the trilogy that marks the third part in the trilogy of trilogies that is the Skywalker saga. Director J.J. Abrams returns to complete the story he began with The Force Awakens, one I am hopeful will tie the entire saga together.
Next year, marks the end of other shows and film series as well. Homeland is set to air its eighth and final season on Showtime next year and Orange is the New Black is all set for parole when the seventh and final season comes to Netflix in 2019. Gotham with meets its end when the Dark Knight finally rises in its final shortened season premiering in January and The Big Bang Theory will finally be coming to an end at the close of its twelfth season which is currently airing. The release of Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants could very well be the end of Fox’s X-Men franchise which began in 2000 since Fox’s sale to Disney would likely lead to a complete reboot of the X-Men characters to fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, every ending is just an opportunity for a new beginning. Audiences won’t have to wait long after the end of the Untitled Avengers Film for their next Marvel fix with Spider-Man: Far From Home scheduled for release two months later. Not to mention another eight Marvel films (the details of which are unknown) set for release in 2020, 2021, and 2022. In the case of Game of Thrones, that new beginning comes in the form of a prequel as HBO is already working on a series set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones starring Naomi Watts. As for Star Wars, well that franchise is never ending as numerous film series, spin-offs, television series, and theme park attractions are in active development.
Remember, an end is never an end. Even if it feels like it is, it isn’t. There is always more. For every Seinfeld finale, there is season seven of Curb Your Enthusiasm. And while 2019 is filled with endings, the years that follow will build new beginnings for them all.
