It's been a little while since I've made a poll, so I'm going to shake off the dust with a simpler question (although choosing an answer to this one is probably anything but simple for mystery fans.)
This is mostly oriented towards live action mystery/crime TV series, I'll probably do a later poll for animated shows or anime.
I can't possibly fit every series worth a shoutout in the 12 options Tumblr allows per poll, so please let me know your favorites in the tags and comments if it's not listed here. :)
Please reblog for a larger sample size, thank you!

Another from the list of polls I've been wanting to start, this time about your favorite "Watson" or sidekick character in a detective or mystery related piece of media! They can be an adaptation of John Watson or an entirely different character who fills that role, so long as they have a Sherlock-type partner they work with to complete that dynamic.
I can't possibly cover every Watson type character, especially since Tumblr polls only give me 12 options, so I've filled out some on the top of my mind or ones that are more famous, and then there's the "Other" option to support any favorites not on the list.
There's several John Watson adaptations where he's pretty close to the book canon, so I haven't listed all separately here, mostly just ones where there's a more distinct change (modernization, etc.) or he has more focus.
So without further ado:
Please reblog for a larger sample size :)

Do you ship it?

reason under the cut!
:) (I am constantly thinking about them and I love this ship so so much) (THere are so many reasons. Like, so many! I remember there was an episode where Stottlemeyer was staying at Monk's apartment and it got kind of couple-y IMO. And they've both said I love you to each other or told another character they loved the other or another character as said that one of them loves the other. (This next point is spoilers for the season 6 finale)
There was one episode where Monk was framed for murder and Stottlemeyer offered to mortgage his house to pay the bail and then later helped Monk fake his death and go into hiding and Monk makes his fake first name Leland (Which is how another character figures out he's not really dead, but that doesn't matter right now.) And there are so so so so so many other moments, but I'll stop talking now.)

Queer Fiction Free-for-All Book Bracket Tournament: Round 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Book summaries below:
A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers (Monk and Robot series)
Centuries before, robots of Panga gained self-awareness, laid down their tools, wandered, en masse into the wilderness, never to be seen again. They faded into myth and urban legend.
Now the life of the tea monk who tells this story is upended by the arrival of a robot, there to honor the old promise of checking in. The robot cannot go back until the question of "what do people need?" is answered. But the answer to that question depends on who you ask, and how. They will need to ask it a lot. Chambers' series asks: in a world where people have what they want, does having more matter?
Science fiction, cozy scifi, science fantasy, philosophy, slice-of-life, novella, series, adult
Imperial Radch series (Ancillary Justice, Ancillary Sword, Ancillary Mercy, Provenance, Translation State, and other stories) by Ann Leckie
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest.
Once, she was the Justice of Toren - a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy.
Now, an act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with one fragile human body, unanswered questions, and a burning desire for vengeance.
Science fiction, space opera, far future, series, adult

RTD said he wasn’t going to undo the Timeless Child or the destruction of Gallifrey, ¡but he never said anything about taking individual Time Lords off the table! ¡Explain who you voted for and why in the tags!
(No, the Master isn’t an option, that fucker’s return is as inevitable as the TARDIS “accidentally” landing nine galaxies and a million years away from where she was supposed to go)
