Since time eternal, a few random letters strung together to formulate words and sentences and phrases and expressions have had the power to sway the minds of the most ardently averse and the most obstinately opposed.

Possessing the power to so quickly turn the mind of man that once housed brilliant intelligence to one whose sanity is ground down to become the lingering, useless dust of misunderstanding and misconception.

Therefore, whilst forewarned is forearmed, it takes more than just knowledge to be able to see with the eye of a seasoned arbitrator and not a weathered follower, flitting about with no solid grasp on identity nor any compass guiding to the perfection of a moral code.

Thus indicating, that while a man may have absorbed degrees of expertise, practical and personal experience, the scales of justice will always weigh in favour of the deserving; those who talk the truth and then continue steadily in its far reaching shadow.

expression immediately reflects the wound he feels in his heart,   deep in his soul,  all the way down to his toes.  in a rare instance,  shawn stands in stunned silence before responding,  voice reflecting all the not-sweet sadness that scars his insides...  even the ghost of his appendix    ❪  he’s still unclear just how he’s survived without it,  may it rest in peace,  he really must just be that remarkable  ❫.

“see!”   shawn stomps over,  gesturing to the surface where he’d made the cake,  revealing a mess that he plans on waiting for gus to clean up,  all centered around an easy bake oven.   “see this?!  i worked so hard on that!”

the  evening  had  been  mighty  boring     ,     john  deciding  some  dumb  sitcom  on  television  was  enough  to  pass  the  time  until  he  got  tired  enough  to  head  to  bed.  of  course  that  changed  with  the  knock  on  his  door.  quite  uncharacteristic  for  the  time  of  night  but  he  was  answering  it  anyway.  the  first  thing  he  notices  is  how  disheveled  she  seems     ,     eyes  widening  with  worry.      

❝     hey.     ❞     his  voice  soft  as  he  spoke     ,     stepping  aside  to  silently  tell  her  to  come  in.      ❝     did  you  get  in  a  fight  with  the  drive - thru  worker     ?     ❞     probably  not  the  best  way  to  diffuse  the  situation  but  maybe  some  dumb  joke  was  enough  to  break  the  tension.

Someone had struck an alarm in his system. It seems on purpose, just from the location. It was one of his more discreet safe houses. Only known to him even. He doubted any of the kids would have wandered into it without his indulgence. 

But perhaps he had underestimated her…to some degree. 

Walking in and sharpening his gaze on the unwanted guest. Eyes narrowed sharply as his fingers itch to throw a batarang in her direction just out of annoyance. It would be a perfectly good waste of it, he figured. Turning on the light then.

HE’D  CAUGHT  HIS  REFLECTION  IN  THE  WINDOW.  and  suddenly  all  thoughts  of  the  mission  had  evaporated  from  his  mind  as  he  combed  his  fingers  through  his  hair.  lips  pursed  as  he  realized  how  disheveled  his  hair  had  become  after  their  little  run  in.  and  not  in  the  charming  rogue  sort  of  disheveled.  he  ignored  the  very  loud  sigh  from  his  left  as  Sharon  crossed  her  arms  and  gave  him  a  pointed  look.  no  one  was  going  to  die  if  he  took  a  second  to  fix  his  hair.  probably.  right  when  he  almost  had  it  to  perfect  he  felt  someone’s  hand  grab  hold  of  his  shirt  and  yank  him  in  the  direction  they  were  supposed  to  be  headed.  he  tried  to  make  his  limbs  heavy  but  Sharon  had  no  issue  supporting  his  weight  and  dragging  him  along.
