edit: This is about how people in the fandom prioritize Odysseus and Telemachus (and even Diomedes, who is not in the Odyssey) despite the Odyssey also being HER story as well. I've seen many fics about Odysseus and Telemachus in their youth, and never really seen that for Penelope.

starting a new project is basically committing to one of two equally chaotic paths. you either:

a) spend weeks meticulously outlining every plot point, character arc, and worldbuilding detail, only to abandon it halfway through because the vibes took you somewhere else entirely, OR

b) you raw-dog the whole thing, trusting your brain to 'figure it out,' and end up with a draft that’s half literary brilliance and half 'what the hell did i mean by this note that just says "cows are symbolic."'

either way, you're writing by the seat of your pants, but one path comes with a fancy map you’ll never actually use.

there's an idea here, and the idea is slowly turning into a story, and in march I've got some one shot comics about pirates I want to post! ideally, in march. hopefully in march. there's a lot of stuff to figure out, drawing wise. I spent an amount of time I won't mention researching the history of leg prosthetics & vintage leg prosthetic designs for basilica, and I haven't even figured out tall ships. which is. well. it's pirates, what are pirates without tall ships

You mentioned in a previous post that a tip for finding motivation and practicing drawing is to "start with dessert", drawing the really self-indulgent stuff that might not even make it into the final product but you just really like those interactions.

So anyway, do you have any self-indulgent scenes you've written/drawn for aurora that didn't make into the final script?
