people have posted about it before but there really is so much potential for an actual like. proper story where jason and roy wake up during rebirth and roy immediately dips out of the friendship because he’s just remembered his life?? the titans and his kid??? and there’s a massive emotional fallout because of these fake memories that roy no longer cares about? like he’s been someone that isn’t himself for years. he’d forgotten lian entirely. half the titans had been written out of existence. how does he begin to untangle the knot of his identity that he had no part in twisting?

During the Under the Red Hood comic, there's a scene where Red Hood is fighting Black Mask, and proceeds to get killed by Black Mask. The helmet exploding when Black Mask removes it
As it turns out, that was a fake Red Hood. Jason had put him in the costume and had been speaking remotely through the helmet.

Id personally argue that whether or not taash's fire breathing is magic entirely depends on how they are able to do it. I cant remember if they ever talk abt it in game whether they have a gland or smth to do it (tho i vaguely remember something like that?)
If the fire comes from nowhere then > its magic (even if theyre not casting per se)
If the fire comes from somewhere > not magic.
That said, I'd say that technically its not magic. Also I think watching Fenris and Taash duke it out could be really fun
Yeahhh I can't remember either. Either way theyre definitely the strongest warrior. I'd love to see that fight as well. 🤔

Trying to figure out how their whole situation goes after the game ends and keep landing on "Caterina definitely thinks she can get away with offing Lenore," but then that leads to a whole lot of questions I will need to sort out before I can definitively make that a part of their story.

I will say I'm a fan of this puppy love crush angle. like yeah Tokatti does feel like the kind of character to develop feelings for his friends. and this tendency would be compounded by the fact that the toqs only have each other, the weird older conductor and the weird ecchi robot lady to socialize with
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Equally a fan of Hikari being a good foil for Tokatti. he reminds me a wee bit of Suna from Ore Monogatari; the stoic, "straightforward in a way that could perceived as rude" friend to a much more emotionally open but bumbling guy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also this is the most open Hikari has been abt his feelings with anyone thus far. like he's confided in Kagura abt how he struggles to just say what he feels but admitting you're envious of someone? to their face? that ain't easy to do, especially if you're an icy tsuntsun like veggie-disliker green boy here

Completely unrelated tangent but this is exhibit A of the 16:9 aspect ratio being homophobic. 4:3 woulda had these boys nose to nose smh

sunday six :D
thanks for the tag @mike----wazowski @overdevelopedglasses @passthroughtime @four-white-trees @skysquid22 !
haven't done a whole lot of writing this week... but i did touch up this exchange between arakawa and sawashiro for a canon divergence fic 👍
“That’s fine. I expected as such.” Arakawa took a sip of his own drink. “It bothers you though, doesn’t it?”
He’d noticed how Sawashiro would stare, and how his steps had hesitated the first time he’d encountered the boy outside the office. Sawashiro was struck by something about him, didn’t treat him like the average teenage punk. Perhaps he was reminded of when he himself had joined the family. Truth be told, Arakawa hadn’t fully settled his feelings on the situation. A boy so young, asking to join the yakuza. It was hardly unusual, but as a father it hurt nonetheless. He wanted to hear Sawashiro’s thoughts on the matter, though he wasn’t sure the man himself might fully understand why the boy had struck him so personally.
“It does.” Sawashiro admits. His tone gives little, and his expression far less.
“He is quite young, and he’s out there all day.”
“Does he have nothing better to do?” There’s an edge there. Personal.
“He should be in school, you mean?”
Sawashiro meets Arakawa’s eyes, and whatever was there within him passes. The edge retreats. “Yes.”

I love IDW rodimus…
he loves being a leader but he’s kinda bad at it (at least as far as I am in MTMTE). He’s like the opposite of Optimus, who hates being a leader, but he’s good at it.
Whenever rodimus fucks up he goes “well I guess I’ll never lead again and do everything alone forever” but then. He wants to be a leader again.
His backstory in autocracy is like. Holy shit no wonder he has issues with what being a leader is. And that’s why he reacts like that with swerve…
He has a big ego, but incredibly low self esteem. He says as much and everyone knows it.
Drift has to write his speeches for him. He calls drift…something undisclosed (WHAT DOES HE SAY)…if he doesn’t respond to texts immediately.
Love him 🩷

yknow, i always think about how many of those alternate timelines, exactly, graha and the ironworks saw while they were fucking around trying to pen down their timetravel plan for shb. theres a lot of appeal to me abt graha having potentially seen the 'nin never becomes the wol' ending and whether or not he ever tells him about it

For I am—or I was—one of those people who pride themselves on their willpower, on their ability to make a decision and carry it through. This virtue, like most virtues, is ambiguity itself. People who believe that they are strong-willed and the masters of their destiny can only continue to believe this by becoming specialists in self-deception. Their decisions are not really decisions at all—a real decision makes one humble, one knows that it is at the mercy of more things than can be named—but elaborate systems of evasion, of illusion, designed to make themselves and the world appear to be what they and the world are not.
— James Baldwin, Giovanni's Room

One of my favorite things about Arcane season 2 is that it is embodying not just cycles of violence but also has an example of cycles of mercy
Powder is not abandoned
Tumblr media
Jinx does not abandon
Tumblr media
It is not just how violence begets violence, one side of the coin, but the opposite as well, mercy begetting mercy--and it's sourced from the exact same character no less
This really is the Show of Duality of all time

Yes!
I do imagine that most Shinobi aren't "tamed" or "caged". They are let to roam free and come back if they wish. And those who run along side them earn their respect.
This is very much like Rai's and Kakashi's relationship. Both don't want to tie the other down, but are willing to be there when/if they come back.
Ok so. Slams this on the table. Notes from an unrelated fic, doesn't matter rn.
Tumblr media
BUT.
I wanna have a conversation about the potential in-world fetishization of shinobi (from civilians and particularly noble courts who may view them as a sort of status to hold) + specific shinobi clans (also from other shinobi)
I have no specific thoughts or direction for potential plot w this one, I just think it's interesting to think about.
Ummm the evolution of fetishization and romanticization from aimed at clans from the warring states into more modern eras. With shinobi being slightly less sexualized and more romanticized as time passes (and they can be mistaken as more "civilized" due to formation of villages helping with the stigma of the clans constantly being at eachothers throats + the sudden broadening of how easy it is to hire shinobi for things making them more accessible/normalized)
Tales of a gutsy ninja and other books probably also helped the culture shift, shout out to my boy Jiriyah for that one, thank u king
Anyways. More animalistic clans getting the brunt of those who want to "tame" a shinobi. Meanwhile more ""normal"" clans are mistaken for more approachable because of it and then often recieve the brunt of actual approaches / propositions
There are groups of just. REALLY freaky civilians out there who have Thoughts(tm) and Ideas(tm) ab shinobi. Word of advice to said shinobi? Avoid them like the plague. Never turns out well.
But idk, like I said I have no specific thoughts I just find the concept interesting. The civilian perspective of shinobi is a fun thing to think ab, in all it's aspects
