i keep thinking about the datamined conversation between halsin and minthara and what gets me about it is that if you side with halsin and turn minthara away, thats objectively the bad choice.

like at this point, you've rescued minthara from moonrise. you know now that she was being controlled to act against her will. you've gone to the trouble of rescuing her from her tormentors, and you've experienced what it felt like as they tried to destroy her mind. you know what will happen to her if you turn her away. and if you do, you're willingly condemning her to that fate. you've essentially allowed her to experience freedom, to regain her sense of self, only to tear that away from her again.

whereas if you side with minthara, and halsin leaves, that's the only consequence he experiences. that he's not a companion anymore. at this point, we've saved the grove, we've saved him, and we've lifted the shadow curse. we've helped him achieve what hes been hoping to do for over a century. leaving your party won't see him lose his free will. he can return to the grove and live his life.

the choice is essentially either condemn someone to a fate worse than death, knowing exactly what that entails vs not letting someone travel with you anymore. its pretty clear cut to me.

its just interesting to me that they've switched the morality of it around given that minthara is considered the 'evil' companion by so many.

Reader isnt really too bothered having gotten used to birds just landing on their hair or that little creatures will accompany them one way or another. At first, Ace didn’t mind. After all, why would he? You’re his friend, and he doesn’t care about the animals in his friend's hair. They give you extra flower crowns or whatever, that’s not a big deal. Not at all. Nope, not one bit. He has absolutely no problems with the animals. None. 

Okay, he shooed them away a few times, but that’s normal! You’re just too used to those weird little creatures. You were eating, you shouldn’t have had birds near you! They could take away some of your food! If you think about it, he’s just being a good friend. He's such a good friend, in fact, there’s absolutely nothing about him that could make you think he wasn’t acting in your best interest. Even if those birds were bringing you berries as you claim, how are they supposed to know if they were poisonous? They’re birds! You could die! He saved your life! 

And no, he never punched a squirrel. He just... Realized something was coming up on your shoulder and hit it away. Just a little slap. Definitely. He didn’t ball up his fist and aim or anything. He loves animals, look at the hedgehogs! They don’t bite him while he’s feeding them, only after! They’re hard to befriend, or something... 

Besides, that’s the same squirrel that was hitting him with nuts! Remember? He was being pelted with acorns! And no, he didn’t start it but made a face at the squirrel. He was blowing raspberries at the tree, obviously. The squirrel just took it incorrectly, he’s done nothing wrong. And how come it gets to be nicknamed ‘Fluffy’? Ace is just as fluffy! Look, he’s right here! He would be even fluffier if you did his hair like you brush that stupid squirrel!  

Sebek Zigvolt - 

You’re similar to Silver, so the animals are a fact that Sebek doesn’t think much of at first. Birds on your head, mice in your pockets, whatever. It doesn’t matter to him. He’s used to those around him having abilities he doesn’t, though normally those are combat related, and it’s not as though he desires yours. 

That is until an animal decides to sit in your pocket for an entire day. A tiny mouse, which you had in your jacket during every class. Even at the times when Sebek couldn’t accompany you! It was very cute, but Sebek was screaming at you! Why? Because the mouse could be dangerous, of course! Why else? You’re a stupid human if you truly believe an animal coming up to you isn’t a mark of disease! Just look at it! 

From that point on, he was a little more overprotective of you. After all, you could be hurt! He couldn’t possibly allow that! He would rather fight the bear that just gave you a fish than allow you to come in contact with it again. Besides, he can get a better fish! Look at him, human! He got you a bigger fish- What do you mean the bear came back. What do you mean it’s got two more fish. Fine! If you’re going to accept fish from a bear, he’ll just have to cook those fish for you! To make sure they’re edible! Lilia and Malleus would be very upset if you died because of bear-poisoned fish! 

He ends up in a three hour, five course meal competition with the animals. On the positive, you have enough food for the next week. On the less positive side, you’ve had to watch a guy start a fight with a moose after jumping into the water. And lose. You’ve had to watch a knight lose a fight to a moose. Then again, can you really blame him? Of course not, human! Especially after you gave him such a lecture, and he’s fine now! You made sure of that after you bandaged him! So, why are you still concerced? He won’t do it infront of you again, if you’re so upset about seeing him hurt!

It's very easy for me to write this, because my Eddsworld Reader is very much this kind of person!

I think that, for my Eddsworld crew, they would not be bothered at ALL. It was definitely a big shock for them at first, because in their brains that is?? Not how women act??? But they quickly get used to it and even learn to love it. Plus, they're still rat bastards at the end of the day, so they're all just a little perverted to different degrees.

Matt would probably be the most normal about it. Even then, he's not completely normal. He's probably internally in denial about the fact that he's a little twisted like the others. As a Girl's Girl, Matt would be jumping to help you with your outfits. If you need someone to help you pick out what to wear for the day, he's happy to help! And well, if you're going to change right there in the middle of your room while he's sitting on the bed, who is he to judge? It's your room, after all. He would look away at first. Even if you are comfortable enough to change in front of him, he'd want to respect your privacy. But then.... that little voice starts speaking to him. A small peek wouldn't hurt, right? He would need to know what color your underwear is, to make sure it doesn't show through your clothes! Or what if he wants to buy you some cute new underwear from the mall, or from his mom's company? He needs to know what style you like! So... he peeks. Then he can't tear his eyes away. After a while, he stops looking away. He feels guilty about it, but at this point he just can't stop himself.

Tom is a good balance. He knows you're a very touchy person. Normally he wouldn't be comfortable with it, but for you? He makes an exception. Part of him feels a little guilty about getting off on it, but how can he feel guilty for too long when you're pressing up against him like that? He loves it when you hug his arm out in public, subconsciously pressing your chest to his arm. Or when you fall asleep in the car when they're driving home late at night, sitting in the backseat with him and laying your head in his lap. You're sleeping so comfortably, it would be wrong of him to wake you up! Doesn't matter if your hand is laying limp a little high up on his thigh. Tom doesn't mind. One of his favorite things is how willing you are to take pictures. You know that Tom is a photographer and enjoys taking pictures of his friends. So if the two of you are out somewhere and Tom asks if he can take a picture? That's totally normal! You see nothing wrong with the fact that Tom has an album filled with pictures of you, even if some of them are at.... risqué angles.

Edd wouldn't feel guilty at all. He'd eat that shit up! Like Tom, he also loves that you're physically affectionate! He'll reciprocate happily, putting his hands on you whenever he can. Hugs that last a little longer than normal, sliding his hands up your back or down your sides. He'd wrap his arm around your waist in public, resting his hand on your hip. He doesn't want you to get lost! This is a big crowd, after all. You could get separated. Edd is very naturally possessive, so if you're out somewhere and he notices some guys looking at you, he'll get extra handsy. You just giggle and playfully swat at him, but don't push him away. It inflates his ego so much. Around the house, he'll pick you up randomly while bantering with you. If you start to get too feisty for his tastes, he'll hoist you over his shoulder and pinch your thighs, making you squeal. It's just a coincidence that he does it whenever you're wearing those short athletic shorts that barely cover your thighs! And if he insists on laying his head on your lap while you two are watching TV on the couch? That's nothing out of the ordinary! He's comfortable!

Tord is absolutely the worst about it. He's unashamed about it. If you're nonchalant about changing in front of him, he's nonchalant about watching. Doesn't try to justify it in his head. Doesn't see it as anything wrong - if you don't mind, why is there a problem? In public, it's mostly just him putting his hand on the small of your back. Maybe his fingers will drift down just a little, tease at the waistband of your pants. If he sees someone that he recognizes as competition, he'll press himself up flush to your back to flaunt his claim over you. It's not his fault if he's pressed close enough that you can feel every inch of him. In private, during those late nights where you're watching anime in his room, he gets clingy. He'll sit with his back against the pillows, letting you lay between his legs with your head against his stomach. His hands will trace up and down your sides. Fingers will make shapes along your bare skin, reveling in the goosebumps you get. In the dark of his room, he'll lean down to whisper in your ear, bury his face in your shoulder so he has an excuse to trace his lips along your skin. If you're the type to playfully nip and bite, he'll do it back, grinning when he hears your breath hitch. You never talk about it in the morning. After all, inhibitions leave within the night.

Hi can i request a reader with maybe yan chain who was raised by a tribe maybe like the maori ones but she has ariel red hair and very pale skin so she stands out and when they go to see her island the tribe do the kinda war dance (mainyl the men) how would they react?(also i from nz where the maoris live so i dont think its offensive but first please research so it isnt to others.)

I ended up taking this more as an inspiration than actually using a real and existing culture, after all, I have no authority on the subject. And also, I made it happen in Wind's Hyrule, I thought it would make sense! :)

The strong summer sun was beating down on my skin with intensity, bringing a familiar burning sensation, a sign that I should get out of the sun as soon as possible, considering how easy it was to end up with burns that would leave me looking like a lobster and would hurt for the rest of the week. I was on a high part of the island, which allowed me to see the sea more easily from different angles, and there I could clearly see the large ship approaching on the horizon. 

I went down to the flat part of the island, motivated to warn the rest of the tribe. Let’s say that visitors are rare, especially the well-intentioned ones, so it’s always good to be alert. Everyone was preparing for the ship’s arrival on the coast, especially the warriors and the chief of the tribe, while the elderly, children and most of the women stayed inside the village, where it was safe. Not me, of course, curious as I am, I would never stay still waiting, so I was there among the men with a few other women.  

 The large ship arrived at the coast of the island, and a large number of blond men, very similar to each other, disembarked. One of them, a small one, caught my attention, but I couldn’t see him properly from a distance. As is tradition, the warriors gathered to perform the traditional war dance, which would scare off enemies as a threat, but would also be a welcome to friends, everything would depend on the intentions of this group of outsiders. 

As soon as the dance began, I noticed some of the group backing away, mixed with curiosity and confusion. They definitely didn’t know much about our culture, but the same little boy I had noticed before seemed unfazed, just waiting for the end of the dance to react. 

Throughout the performance, the men remained quiet and observant. They didn’t seem like a real threat, at least not with bad intentions, which made everyone around me relax a little. When the warriors of the tribe stopped, finally the blond boy in light blue robes began to approach, and thanks to that I was finally able to recognize him. 

 That was Link, a young hero who had passed through our island over a year ago and who made a point of helping everyone as much as he could, making him look good in the tribe and welcome to stay here whenever he wanted. I could see that he had located and recognized me, coming towards me with the rest of the unknown men following close behind. It wasn’t exactly a surprise, during the short time the boy had been here in the past I had grown attached to him as if he were my little brother. 

As soon as he reached me the hero jumped into my arms in a warm hug full of longing after so long. The rest of the tribe seemed to recognize him too, which calmed the remaining doubts present. 

— Oh, Link, look at you, how you’ve grown! – I said as we walked away, receiving a shy smile from the boy. – And who are these? – I asked, looking at the group of men who looked like the blond, who looked at me with a curious look, probably comparing me to the others, something I’m used to. 

— Oh, so, these are my brothers... well, it’s complicated. – I looked at the girl suspiciously for a moment, knowing that he previously only had a younger sister, but I decided to give this story a chance. 

— Well, how about we take a walk around the island, find a quieter place, and you explain this story to me properly? 

He readily agreed, so I started to guide him into the vegetation that I knew well, followed by the group of men who, although confused, seemed quite calm. How interesting, I think the day just got more fun.

i think uuwemmbu and egg always jump at the chance to help her out especially because it was zam who took the approach toward them first, so whenever shes being ganged up on or losing in a fight they always come to her no matter what. egg isnt a good fighter but hes gotten alright at escaping so he jumps in as a distraction while wemmbu and zam overwhelm the enemies, or else he distracts while wemmbu gets zam out of a bad situation. i also think they like to compete w flame to see who gets there first to help zam out (at first hes only doing it for the adrenaline of a fight but at some point he also gets engrossed in the competition because sure, its fun when zam loses to Him, but seeing her throw herself at an impossible enemy and losing when he can help? well thats just stupid. hes her teammate this season, he should be allowed to help if he wants)

also i think about wemmbu and zam comparing scars a lot and taking care if each others injuries. most of wemmbus body is covered by explosion injuries but there are also stuff like slightly sculked wounds from his time with rejoice and the scar from the backlashof his totem popping. and zam of course has copious body scars from her time during s4 and s5, where mapicc and minute respectively killed her iver and over, but also a scar around her neck from her execution in s3 and scars and burns from the wormhole. idk i think is just like them to take care of each other and get coddled by egg and flame too maybe.....

also i was thinking. of the entire team zam would probably be the most likely to get banned because she has a Hashtag Reputation for it and also shes the most likely to throw herself into insane fights. like yeah eggs a 20 ht quickdrop but he doesnt put himself into situations very oftej i imagine, not when he has a secure base to stay in most of the time. meanwhile zam is constantly throwing herself on others swords to protect her morals and identity and. yeah. so. i was thinking of a situation that might happen if she got banned and how everyone might react to it...... do you think wemmbu would go on another revenge spree like with rejoice or would he focus more on the ability to revive her? id like to think flame would go on a rampage and kill as many as he could at spawn especially whoever it was that got the final ban kill on her, and maybe Then hed calm down enough to remember how to craft a revive beacon. idk how uuwemm would go about it very well tho 😓

i agree zam DOES need a W and i agree with all of this 100% so much. the team helping and aiding zam in fights 💞💞💞💞💞 wemmbu and flame turning it almost into a competition is so funny to me . i love their little dynamic so mucb its so funnnnnn

Egg is probably the one who gets the other materials for a revive beacon while flame and wemmbu prepare the hearts once tjey come back to their senses a little more and aren’t as blinded by their drive for revenge

Ok! My thoughts on 7x05!

First, i just wanna say that the whole Hen and Karen storyline is awesome! I love that the show is giving queer people so much screen time, especially a Black lesbian couple! And i think its super sweet that they really want to try for Mara! I hope it works out!

Next, i think that has been my favorite cold open so far. The “ITS MEEE” gets me every time (i have already watched it loads of times). I dont have much to comment on it other than it was funny as fuck

Ok. The date scene. I was hoping to see more of Eddie watching them (especially after the stills), but oh well. The second-hand embarrassment i got was… a lot. But i dont think its necessarily a bad thing. It showed how out of his comfort zone Buck was and how he was trying to navigate a terrifying situation. And Tommy? I might have to retract my earlier retraction. Cos wtf?? Literally had just finished talking about how its hard to accept yourself in a “macho” field, then makes a dig at Buck when he fumbles? Not cool. Then not communicating what was happening until he was getting in the Uber? You dont just abandon someone at a restaurant like that. I understand the “you’re not ready” thing, but that was a dick move.

Also, Buck, baby. Sweetheart. Darling. “I look at hot guys’ asses.” Sweetie. Like Maddie said. You are more than an ally lmao. I also just love how Maddie showed interest in getting to know who Buck was talking about and treating the convo after like a normal convo. Because it is! And i love it! But she also emphasized talking to Eddie, because she knew that Eddie would not react poorly. I feel like that just shows how everyone knows how close Buck and Eddie are. TLDR, Maddie is an awesome sister and Buck is lucky to have her ❤️

Next point, the scene where Buck and Tommy talk over coffee. I do think that the hand holding at the end is very sweet and shows how Buck is really trying to be more open, but Tommy is just really starting to rub me the wrong way. Pretty much everything he said contradicts what happened in the date scene. I feel like him being at the wedding is really gonna spark some Jealous Eddie, tho, so i am excited to see that lmao

And Eddie and Marisol? I feel like the show is going in a direction that leads them to breaking up. Like yes, it is showing growth for Eddie and allowed him to acknowledge that he has Catholic guilt, but theres just. No chemistry. It feels awkward. I feel like her being an ex-nun is gonna bring up some issues with Buck and Eddie will not stand for that. I also wanted to point out that i got even more vibes that Eddie could be demisexual, cos he didnt straight up say that he loved Shannon, just that he loved being married to her. And he knows that he is moving too fast and needs to step back a bit

Finally, Buck coming out to Eddie. I do find it funny that Eddie seemed more shocked that Tommy wasnt straight than figuring out Buck isnt straight. But its awesome that Eddie showed interest and genuinely wanted to help Buck through the issue. And the hug? Finally! Give me men not being afraid to hug each other! I feel like this is allowing Buck and Eddie to become even closer (i do hope for Buddie eventually)

Overall, i feel like this episode was great for setting up the development of Buck and Eddie’s relationship (whether it ends up being platonic or romantic). And i am all for Buck exploring his sexuality with someone that isnt Eddie. While Tommy isnt my favorite right now, i do think that he is great for the progression of Buck’s story. I do hope to see more of Dad!Bobby in the coming episodes and how Buck’s parents might react to Tommy. I dont wanna wait three weeks for the next episode 😢. Im ready for the chaos of the Madney wedding

Sorry rant incoming-

Cassie and Gregory’s characters being ruined by a book. A BOOK. Actually sucks dude. I guess you could argue GGY already put Gregory’s character down the path of no return but at least that book was well-written so I could excuse it then.

I had a funny feeling that Cassie was gonna be dumbed down in order for the plot to work I just knew it. I like Gregory but dare I say Gregory feels slightly overpowered? As in, he’s not allowed to fuck up like a realistic human being should. As a villain, he never has screw ups, like even William had major screw ups that costed him in the end. This is like a huge reason why people hate Gregory and it’s because he never shows vulnerability or moments of weakness, even as GGY.

Gregory can be used as a plot device and still be narratively well-written and feel like a kid and have other traits than just “dark humor DARK HUMOR LOL!!!” like GOD Scott. This story has become a huge guessing game and my god is it frustrating and making it hell to follow.

I don't think ggy feels overpowered bc already by him being the 2nd follower of glitchtrap he has a higher power than him controlling him too. also the very fact that Gregory is free in security breach tells us that he obviously screwed up and got killed at some point, we just havent seen that yet. ggy has a lot of traits that could lead to his downfall like arrogance, because sure he had control over the situation from the start when tony started investigating him and uncovering the truth, but he also purposefully allowed him to get further in his investigation because he thought it was amusing, and he knew hed kill him later anyway

ggy is super smart but hes also still a kid and his choices are calculated but sometimes risky, like letting tony live for so long and get closer to the truth. but the very fact that hes in control of situations most of the time tells us that if he ever LOST control, he probably wouldnt know what to do, which is what had to have happened to him for Gregory to get freed. we just havent seen that play out yet, but I dont think ggy is overpowered at all. hes a cog in the machine that overall mimic oversees, things were still able to move without him in security breach with just vanny, and he has a visible role too with him being the person to put the virus into the animatronics and keep it there. he isnt rlly meant to be a killer he just killed therapists to keep VANNY in line (along w his own when they pried too much) bc shes supposed to be the one that does the dirty work. but even then he canonically used freddy/a different robot to do it

and since he pretty much at this point canonically has amnesia in security breach, he wouldn't remember ggy so that's plenty of room for Gregory to have his half of his story where hes just himself and deals with problems without ggy being associated as just gregory (which I want so bad. I've been a Gregory fan since sb an entire year before ggy released, I love ggy but Gregory takes priority to me), and the other half which is obviously ggy, and in my best case scenario we could get to see HIM react to his past which would still be about Gregory and not ggy at the end of the day from a character writing standpoint. I cant choose what will happen but those are really our only two major questions left about how Gregory and ggy combine so. looking forward to it, especially bc steel wool seems to understand how to handle the mimic lore in sotm from what I've seen by making new content weve never seen before expanding upon book lore. sotm is to answer questions, and a game about ggy getting freed would add more questions along with solving them bc of who would have to be freeing him, and it would still leave a giant hole in how the current present day Gregory feels about all of this. they could knock both of them out if it takes place present-gregory pov looking back on it

sorry for hijacking the ask to be just about ggy, but yeah cassie was done so dirty in this book like its unbelievable, I knew from the very beginning when etp got announced (& from the original synopsis, which is like absolutely nothing like what we got) that itd fuck with her character and mess it up, but I was relieved when I found out it would be mostly about ggy but then it wasnt even and it was just a big pile of nothing while still ruining everything. I genuinely think the reception on this book as a whole from a quality standpoint was SO bad that this book will probably not even be canon anymore if it was ever supposed to be. it just fucks with so many things & theres no way steel wool was involved in any of it, when it's their entire era. I feel like theyll just let the storm pass and then continue as normal as if it never existed, continuing to write the games with only the games content in mind and I truly hope I'm right about this

i need to preface this meta with a million versions of "i do not think ludinus is or ever will be a good person who deserves forgiveness or will have a happy ending", and it will take me a second to get to my perhaps bad point, but here we go:

as many (and myself) have noted, ludinus is blinded by his trauma. he cannot in any way shape or form see around it, and even though he is very wise, intelligent, and able to mediate almost any conflict of interest, he becomes childishly closed in when anyone challenges his idea, says that his crusade of warfare against the gods has hurt thousands of mortals. he is an active danger in his position of power by refusing to show care for anyone but himself, while convinced hes doing it for exandria.

i think this stems out of the fact that no one has ever been able to reach him in a way he craves. he can get validation of trauma from the vanguard, but he made them thralls to his ideas; do they really mean it or did he manipulate them into it? he obviously cant be validated in his grief by vasselheim and their stranglehold on calamity history, who think any heretic outside of their worship of warlords deserved their fate. and he cant find comfort in fellow calamity survivors, either due to not knowing they were alive (presumably devexian, alyxian), or being angered and in disbelief they chose to pursue religion despite their torture (leylas). because no one starts with the goalpost of saying his people didnt deserve their fate and that his anger is valid, he has been losing his mind with the belief he needs to forcibly show everyone what he experienced and for the world to see him as correct, after an eon of being the only one in his mind with a semblance of a correct pov.

which brings me to my point, which people will react badly to initially, but god, i need to say it aloud: the most important line he has ever said, which has rung in my head like a bell since last episode, is:

"Speak your mind, and I will speak mine. But all I ask is a moment. To show you."

ludinus has refused to entertain anyone else's pov as long as we have known him. fearne mouthing off at him one too many times about the vanguard caused his calm demeanor to snap in favor of him snarling at her about what he had seen in the calamity. he made his speech at the key as everyone there was actively trying to kill him. he never asked a soul for their input on what he was doing. not one ounce of him wants another perspective. and that isnt because hes scared of being called a tyrant. he tells exandria to "make me your villain", and there are so many moments of self hatred in his interactions with others i think he knows damn well what he is. no, hes terrified that someone will invalidate what he went through.

and he has asked the bells to witness the calamity's trauma firsthand, and to judge it and him freely. that is.... a massive change.

he didnt consider what they thought until now. isnt that a sobering thought for him.

and while they dont owe it to him, if the bells actually start the conversation by acknowledging what he went through? i think for the only time in exandrian history, the only moment that it will ever be feasible.... that you could move his second goalpost by starting at his first. those abused & grieving due to him will finally be able to say that to him, by sating the need hes had for 1000 years. and i think he will absolutely accept whatever else is thrown at him if it means someone listened. he will never give up on killing the pantheon. but i think this is the moment that will define whether he dies by the bells hands, or at the bells side against another system. this is the only time that his fate is in flux. and this is the only time this old dog can learn a new trick: that the role of parent can be guidance, and defense for the children you hurt. and acceptance that has been the parent, who must step up, now, or never again.

maybe this is a stretch, but, i cant help but to think that r2 reacted the way he did with that 15 yr old because thats how angel dust would react- by sexually harassing anyone that has an issue with him. he does it to husk constantly.

Very patient with you and honestly would probably not care unless something is timed funny / a silly response. I personally wouldn't be offended and would probably laugh at myself too. Like something happens - maybe he made a comment about something like the price of a ketchup bottle and you reply with a tic like "yippee" and you both end up snorting. Maybe it even becomes an inside joke. "How cheap is it?" / "dont worry its yippee certified."

Wouldn't ever antagonize your tics. He may joke (after a convo about boundaries and if youre genuinely okay with jokes) but he doesnt echo you / encourage you to tic for humors sake or anything else.

He doesn't personally understand tics and how it feels to do it but he understands pain and would 100% be there to help you out when / if you have painful tics. If you allow it he'll get you soothing items and distract you if it will help. Just let him know and he's got you.

If you develop a tic related to him he'll lowkey find it endearing. Like he isn't sure if its because you like him or if it's just a coincidence but he smiles a bit wider when you do it. (Stars help him if you develop a pun related tic like repeating his or saying one)

I usually have happy tics (probs something tied to stimming but it feels like a tic.) So i can imagine if you tell him the related tic is because youre happy he would melt on the inside. Especially when he realizes you echo him because you think hes funny. He has buried his face in a pillow to hide his blush after you leave. Papyrus has teased him for this.

Has on occasion made people uncomfortable for antagonizing you. Like glaring or making pointed jokes to rude people. He'll try to call them out first just in case they don't realize they're being harmful but if they don't care then He'll make them.

Literally as simple as that. He doesn't draw anymore attention to it or really notice it unless you bring it up. Like he just writes it off as a thing that happens and adjusts quick.

If you're okay with it he'll inform people you have it when they get confused. He figures it must be tiring constantly explaining yourself, but worry not! He loves sharing information and explaining things! Especially when its helpful! Not to mention when the topic can educate others on how to be more respectful and informed on others disabilities. So he sees it as an all around good thing and wouldnt be bothered at all to help. (Also he isnt going to just announce this about you, only saying things in convo if ppl ask)

Also, even if you prefer he not say anything, he will educate himself on the subject so he can be a better help and have a better understanding just in case the subject ever comes up later or he meets someone else with tics. It also doesn't hurt to be aware and conscious of these types of things!

I feel like he's respectful enough to let you finish your sentences but if you struggle really hard he might try to help. He'd gently ask a question about what youre trying to say and suggest words to help. He wont do it again if you ask him to stop - hes not doing it maliciously after all. He just doesn't want you to feel frustrated with yourself.

Is a tiny bit (actually very much) hyped when you echo him or have a tic related to him. He asks if its a good thing (like not a stress tic or smth) and if you say yes then he kinda taps his feet / jogs in place and squeals like an exited fan. Says soemthing along the lines of "I AM HONORED TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING YOU DO TO EXPRESS POSITIVE EMOTIONS!"

Awe and if you copy his laugh? Like echoing it when you're happy or smth he is beaming with pride like he's the sun itself. Because!! His laugh!!! It makes you happy and you want to do it with him!!! Kcjdjsns

Actually surprisingly (or not so surprisingly) helpful with painful tics and tic attacks. He is very good at getting you what you need to soothe you / make things less painful and stressful.

Would lecture someone for antagonizing you.

Unusually patient with you finishing sentences and stuff. He kinda just sees any stutters or interruptions as part of the sentence. Like if someone were to get sidetracked or mutter something - he sees it like that. Sometimes he gets frustrated if you struggle to say something for a bit but its not at you. Its at the fact that he isn't getting what you mean when you try to explain without the troublesome word or if you continue to try to say it and it doesn't click in his head.

His immediate reaction is to side eye you but he doesn't make a big deal out of it. He'll probably comment on it like "you gettin' possessed?" But after you explain hes like "oh." And backs off. Might make some jokes before even processing that it could be offensive. Like not jokes about you being broken or negative stuff (hes trying not to be so rough around the edges lol) but just puns about the tics and jokes about glitches or something.

Probably would be the most ... "normal" about it. Wouldn't really ignore them or treat it like its a sensitive topic. Will point out when its funny (in a non harmful way), asks about them sometimes, and makes small comments here and there. For example if you make a weird gesture he'll tease you about it saying stuff like "castin' spells?" Or "I agree" to something you said that makes no sense.

Never thinks to antagonize your tics. Like yeah, he jokes, but he just doesnt think about it or think to avoid it. He just doesnt.

Gives mean looks and snaps at people who do it. He'll be nonchalant about it at first like "hey man, fuck off with that." But if they keep on he'll get more aggressive.

Kinda awkward with the painful ones at first. He thinks you probably just want to get through it and move on because pain isn't something normally expressed for him so he kinda just subtly goes easy on you without really drawing attention to it. If you express it more openly and/or he gets more comfortable he will try to help you out. He understands having aches and pains from things you can't really help (like wounds and scars) so he'll try to apply what he knows and what you tell him helps.

A little impatient but tries his best to be polite. He understand its not your fault, and he doesnt blame you for any irritation he has, he just gets antsy when things arent efficient. (Hes working on it.) At least he doesnt rush you or anything... yay?

Other than that he has a "i don't care" attitude about it. Yes yes, its a part of you, so what? He doesn't mean anything by it, he just doesn't see it as something worth acknowledging, really. It's like noticing someone has curly hair. Its there, it might be something worth noting at first, but then you just forget about it until its relevant.

Doesnt care if something is funnily timed either. You can have fun with it but he isnt bothered. But if you have a response to something he says, tic or otherwise, he instinctively takes it as a genuine response lmao.

Like he doesn't process it entirely that its a tic and kinda just responds seriously. Its kinda funny tbh. You'll probably end up giving up on explaining its a tic anyways if you try so itd be easier to go along with it. (He argues that it is rude not to respond and he is taking his manners seriously now that he is out the underground.)

Will rock someones shit for being disrespectful and antagonizing you. Like maybe not physically but he will verbally rip someone to shreds. Like its pathetic to antagonize someone for something so basic for no reason. Is this person serious? Being rude over something so minor. No, its not funny. What is funny is how this person thinks they can just start shit and be a nuisance with no consequences. People like them would've gotten their teeth knocked in for behaving that way. People at least knew not to be assholes for no reason. (They had a system of 'i leave you alone you leave me alone' unless someone was after something like power or money or whatever. You always had a reason to do violent things. It was normalized, but it wasn't barbaric. )

this is not a new point anybody has made and i've probably said it before but im thinking about hythlodaeus' shade in amaurot again and really, as much as he's obviously colored by emet's memory of the real guy, it's better i think to treat him as functionally emet-selch. like sure he's just a physical manifestation of emet's impression of hythlodaeus, but beyond that, like, he acts on emet's own disowned impulses in terms of how i think some part of him would prefer to treat and view wol. the contrast between "hi new old friend <3 i want you to be happy in your new life i love you always" and "you're not azem. you are NOTHING. azem why did you not return my fucking calls" is not a contrast between emet and hythlodaeus' mindsets so much as a contrast between emet and emet.

and like, hythlodaeus In Real does react to you in a similar way, but again, hythlodaeus' shade is functionally an introject - emet is not Allowed to deal with this dangerous, vulnerable emotion, so he subconsciously assigns it to someone he knew in real life who would readily express it, and cordons that dressed up part of his own psyche off such that that emotion isnt "his" anymore and therefore Safe Now. this is really just real life dissociative logic that plays out in fantastical circumstances.

so yeah i think the more i think of emet in the context of like, a character who has a complex dissociative disorder of some kind, the more it makes sense to treat hythlodaeus as an introject given physicality and amaurot as like, a material version of emet's psyche, rather than their being some separate thing from him in any appreciable way. which, again, really not a hot take or anything groundbreaking - arguably, given y'shtola's line about how the shades behave in amaurot vs your experience in elpis, it's intended within canon - but i have been thinking about it again.

BUUTTTT one of the oneshots was of solar and wutever fuckin insert i used interacting and like. trying to get solar used to gentle touches since im a FIRM believer that that man had NEVER felt a gentle hand on him once he existed (except for maybe when he interacted with his sun in the headspace but thats not actually physical) and it was like "okay lets see how u react to certain things and get u used to it"

and i was like... wut if it was sun doing it with him? i feel like in the beginning he would try and avoid sun as much as he could while also DEEPLY yearning to be around him. bc he just misses his brother so much and he wants him back but he knows this isnt his sun but it hurts to see him and not be able to even touch him. not bc hes not allowed to, hes just too scared to make any moves to get closer.

So my Buddie theory is that Eddie is going to be concerned about his commitment issues, and he’s going to be responsible about it and schedule an appointment/appointments with Frank to talk it through. And he’ll bring up his talk with Bobby, and the thing he pointed out about not having a problem committing to certain things. Which will lead them to taking about the things he’s committed to without problem in the past. Which is when he will mention the fact that he wrote into his will that if he dies, Buck is the one who gets custody of Christopher. And we’ll get to see Frank do that therapist thing where he very carefully does not react, and just calmly prods Eddie to talk about that more (because WHAT?) and THAT’S gonna be a key piece that helps spark Eddie’s feelings realization. Thoughts?

I love this!! To be honest just any theories that involve Eddie going to therapy, doing some soul searching and self reflection and slowly coming to realize that he needs to focus on what HE wants instead of trying to create a "ready made family" for the sake of Chris is awesome in my book. I just feel like Eddie needs to realize that his son loves him too and that kids are smart: they pick up on things faster then many adults may think. All these relationships he's been having were always because he felt obligated to have them. He felt moved by some sense of duty towards his son. And this way of thinking is ultimatly hurting Chris more (as we've been seeing) and isnt going to take him anywhere. He needs to focus on understanding these patterns, allowing himself to feel what he truely feels and realize that when he isnt performing, when his feelings are real, he isnt afraid to commit to them (as Bobby pointed out).

I don't know if this will go exactly as you say but i do live the idea! He definitly could use some therapy

Once, there was a group of children, who were ripped from their lives and forced to play a terrible game. The game broke them down, through pain and death, and rebirthed them as heroes. A terrible man, my brother, served as the ultimate boss of this game. Those heroes, rather than follow the path the game set before them, ran away to a paradise called Earth C. I became the shepherd of this Garden of Eden and watched as they lived happy lives. But, one of them, the Prince, was unsatisfied with happiness. He wanted the story to continue. And, to continue, it needed conflict. It needed a villain. A monster, a replacement for my brother. The Prince decided to be that become that villain. He escaped from Earth C so he could spread pain through existence. And, as the caretaker of a conflict-free world, it became my job to stop him.

YIFFY: WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING

The Prince is powerful. Almost as strong as me. He cannot be killed by conventional means. He is a metatextual being and can only be killed by a metatextual weapon. You, Yiffany, are my weapon.

YIFFY: WHAT

The Prince has complete control over his piece of existence. The only way to kill him is with something that should have never existed. A concept so ungodly stupid that, if he were to ever come into contact with it, he would cease to be.

To defeat my foe, I was forced to damage my paradise. I controlled the heroes like puppets, making them do things they would never do. I forced them to create my weapon. First, I had your surrogate and her wife adopt and raise a clone of Vriska. A deeply, deeply bad concept. But, unfortunately, not bad enough. Next, I created your friend Tavros. A child of rape, born from a hero twisted beyond recognition. A cowardly boy molested by a clown. Surely he would be enough! And yet, he was not potent enough. But with you, I created perfection. 

Yiffany Longstocking Lalonde-Harley. You should not exist. You are a living plothole who exists because I forced your mothers to abandon their values. The Prince fears you, Yiffany. He knows that you can kill him.

YIFFY: WHY DID YOU MAKE VRISSY AND TAV IF YOU WERE JUST GOING TO KILL THEM

They ceased to have any purpose in my plans. And, when I restored my paradise to how it should have been, they could not have been part of it. Better to get them out of the way now. Besides, their deaths made it easy to control you.

YIFFY: NOBODY CONTROLS ME

The Prince was smart. He removed himself from my domain as soon as my plans began. But, I managed to chase him here, to this land of abominations. And you, you worthless abomination, you heard my words in your head and chased them here. You have never made a choice in your entire life. You are a puppet, dragged around by the string, deluding herself into thinking she’s in control. It’s sad, really.

Yiffy lunges at Calliope, but she’s too slow. The Muse teleports to the other side of the room, completely fine. Yiffy crawls to her feet.

YIFFY: IF I CAN KILL DIRK

YIFFY: THEN I CAN KILL YOU TOO

Correct. Unfortunately, you will not get the chance.

YIFFY: ILL KILL STRIDER AND THE TROLL

Calliope laughs. I don’t need the time players to defeat you. I am more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

Yiffy charges at her. After a few steps, she trips, falling onto the hard stone floor. As she tries to stand up, she feels a sharp pain in her chest. A heart attack, from years of annoying anger anger. She gasps for air, but the pain is too strong for her to even take in a breathe. She looks up at me, at her true mother. She realizes that I am controlling this, just as I have controlled everything. She knows that her only chance to live is to bow. Tiffany crawls to her feet and lowers her head.

Good girl. Let’s go kill the Prince.

i dont think you ever posted about your "jon sees elias as jonah when he takes the archivist job" au but please start with that immediately 👀👀👀👀👀👀

so i dont think theres very much that i didnt say in the tags of the post i made about it (unless tumblr ate those for some reason)

but basically. yeah after jon takes the archivist position he starts seeing elias as jonah (at elias' age, not as like. a corpse in the panopticon). obviously he immediately realises that its jonah bcs, yknow, the guys paintings are everywhere.

i imagine jon's train of thought is something like this:

did my boss get possessed by jonah magnus -> no thats dumb ghosts arent real -> im having a psychotic episode -> surely id be seeing other symptoms -> what the FUCK is happening

so a huge amount of jon's desire to find the truth about the supernatural ends up focused on jonah. initially he's just doing research into the actual guy jonah magnus himself but that doesnt really get him anywhere because its not like jonah was like "dear diary im an eye avatar and im going to start putting my eyes into other people so i can be immortal" so he starts doing research into elias instead. which also turns out to be quite difficult just doing normal research.

luckily, jon and elias are decently friendly with each other (at least in early s1, which this would still be). so surely its not weird to try and make sure your relationship with your boss is positive. thats just common sense thats just cultivating a welcoming workplace environment or whatever. and ofc elias is like

bcs this is objectively great! jons leaning into the eye hes considering breaching elias' privacy to learn more about him and ofc hes flattered that jon is so focused on him in particular. so he allows jon to break into his office and look through his things and he pretends he isnt watching the entire time, and he casually mentions some flaws in his home security to try and spur jon into breaking into his house (which he doesnt. yet.)

they're sort of not-quite-dating - tim might joke about jon going on dates with elias and jon gets very flustered and denies it and elias is a little over affectionate in public just to see how jon reacts, but neither of them have any idea that jon's doing all of this just so he can figure out why his boss is (apparently) the founder of the institute.

then prentiss happens. then they find gertrude's body.

i dont think jon gets as paranoid as he does in canon - hes been less of an asshole since all of his focus has gone into researching elias and trying to figure out what the fuck happened. so while i think he does do some research into the archival crew, its mainly research into gertrude herself, and continuing his research into elias. now with added stalking!

and of course elias still doesnt care about the stalking because hes still 1. very happy jon is taking to the eye so well and 2. flattered that jon is so focused on him to the point of stalking him. in my heart i know elias considers stalking to be a form of flirting

s2 goes generally the same but i want jon to find out about the not-them just a little sooner so i can make him go "holy shit! elias got not-them'd! what the fuck!" of course this is completely incorrect if you know anything about how the not-them works but jon. doesnt.

jon, of course, breaks the table. then he finds out that sasha got not-them'd. then he finds out leitner is alive. then he finds out leitner is dead.

who else does he have to go to? he shows up at elias' home, maybe just minutes after elias finishes cleaning up, because a man has been killed in his office and he didnt do it.

because i am a soft elias truther s3 isnt just manipulation and horrible things happening for jon. horrible things still do happen (elias very much doesnt discourage him from talking to jude perry, or mike crew, for example) and elias is still a bastard but its probably not any significant amount more horrible than canon s3 was.

jon probably spends amounts of time talking to elias about what leitner told him (which is hilarious to elias) and elias (against his better judgement) doesnt tell jon that leitner was lying, but instead asks him questions that may or may not lead him to figuring out the entities. he's curious as to what's going to happen, and he's sure jon likes him enough that showing just a little of what he knows wont tarnish their relationship

i dont have many thoughts beyond that - the confrontation probably goes differently, for example, and maybe jon permanently moves in with elias. i cant decide how much of a corruption arc i should give jon (obviously he ends up much more content with the eye than in canon bcs the eye is sexy but i cant decide if hes pro apocalypse or not) but when jon finds out that elias is jonah hes like "oh i know" and jonah is like what the fuck do you mean
