I finally finished making this after wasting more than a month on it, even though I had all the time in the world to be able to finish it in only a day or two, but whatever. I obviously wanted to draw these two for Pride Month. For my Always Sunny AU, this is a reference to the episode when Mac and Dennis are pretending to be real estate agents who are also a couple. Both this show and The 7D are definitely very different shows, one being very family-friendly while the other is not. The 7D is, of course, an underrated show, and even though Always Sunny has been airing for almost 20 years, it is still underrated to me, at least.

Explaining my OTP with ship dynamic memes!

Snow White x Kuzco (Snowzco) is my OTP.

For those who don't know, Kuzco and Snow White are a couple in my Disney Mirrorverse college AU. The AU is called Mirrorverse University, and it's set in a modern magic school setting where Disney and non-Disney characters learn to become guardians to expel the fractured, like Jujutsu Sorcerers and such.

I ship Kuzco and Snow White because I thought it would be cute for them to bond over the fact that they were both poisoned. I love them because Kuzco is a narcissist who sees only what's on the outside and thinks that he's the fairest one of them all, and Snowie, who is kind and sees only inner beauty, is oblivious to the fact that she's the fairest of them all. Snowie negates Kuzco's narcissism and teaches him humility. This ship also, surprisingly, has a lot of angst.

When Kuzco first started liking Snowie, he confused his feelings for her as a one-sided rivalry over hotness.

How do I feel? Pretty neutral. I'm a classic!complicated!Galadriel truther, I don't like the late texts making her a "did nothing wrong ever". She's ok. Just not one of my favs. And same as Finrod, she shouldn't have taken Thingol's hospitality while lying to him by omission. you want to keep your cousin's dirty secrets (and their murder of your other cousins)? OK, fine. Just go live somewhere else.

Also, I'm sure she liked pizza with pineapple XD

Ships. She does have a husband. He's easy to ignore but he's there.

But tbh if tRoP was allowed to go off-canon… those two look cute on gifs. Very non-canon but cute. I'd need ship anyone with real Sauron, but the tRoP-BudgetAragorn-Sauron… I like his face. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I know it's very much not canon or anything. But I like their faces on the gifs.

OK, if I wanted to get edgy… I think that in the Years of Trees, with Galadriel's canon lust for power, and her being all shiny and exceptional… Let's just say I'm very glad that Finarfin apparently kept her away from having any longer conversation with Melkor. Because things might have happened. Bad things. Really bad.

Yeah I like Celeborn but also he's very much a non-character and so I can easily do an AU and delete him from FA and see Galadriel with someone else. I don't ship her with anyone in the sense of having emotions about it etc. But I can see possibilities.

Hmm I think I like evil!Galadriel more than evil! other good character.

Non-romantic OTP. OK I know she had an intense relationship with Melian, and so probably with Lúthien, but I'm probably more interested in her relationship with Finrod.

Unpopular opinion: She was quite problematic in her youth and narrowly escaped ending up evil. And I love it.

One thing I wish happened: More details about her&Celeborn, and about Celebrian's youth… Generally it's sadly quite visible that Galadriel was inserted to Silm late.

Feels. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ He's ok I guess. Funny name. I don't like his father, he's got Budget!Thingol vibes. Might be just the movie. I should reread the Hobbit someday. Also, making drama about jewelry? While being a Sinda? And having Feanorian-related-trauma? Come on.

I don't ship him romantically.

Non-romantically? Canonically allegedly he's the guy who managed to get a Dwarf to Valinor, so that's sure something. But they also had a great chemistry with Aragorn, all 3 had great chemistry.

Unpopular opinion: I don't like his dad, is that unpopular? Also, I'm fine with non-blond Legolas because the books don't specify it anyway.

What I wish happened in the canon: OK maybe I'm basic but I wish his dad sailed eventually. I'm sad about elves staying and fading.

Also, I wish Tolkien told us anything about Legolas' mom.

Many years ago, my partner, my best friend, and I were looking for ways to kill time when we were waiting for the first episode of Critical Role campaign 2 to go live. We decided on DND and made joke characters: Beep and Boop, two adopted siblings. My partner quickly prepared the first adventure from Candlekeep Mysteries, and we played all night. The joke campaign quickly evolved into something more serious, and more people joined, revealing that our parents also adopted more siblings,Bubbles and Baby, while we were on our first adventures.

They grew up together, and when their town was struck by a mysterious curse, they set out for Candlekeep together.

Ugh I am so uncomfortable right now

I have a sinus infection and I haven’t been sleeping well the past couple of nights, so I’m tired, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to fall asleep

But I’m also too tired to do anything else, so I’m just stuck in this state of absolute boredom

So I just binged a bunch of anime today

Finished Dungeon Meshi and loved it. Absolute banger of a show. And so many attractive character designs. Laios? Kabru?? Daya??? The other female dwarf???? That evil elf twink????? The female orc??????

All it needs is a super femme, super bitchy queen bee type character, and it will have satisfied ALL of my types

Also Falin and Marcille are so yuri coded, love that friends to lovers schoolgirl energy

I also watched the first episode of that omegaverse anime. It was p good. I was confused why they decided to make alpha/omega relationships the taboo one, since typically that is the most common one. Because they wanted the characters to face adversity without directly including homophobia, I suppose?

Then why not make them an alpha/alpha or omega/omega pair?? That’s something I haven’t seen before, and it would better align with the whole metaphorical homophobia thing!

I mean, I know why they didn’t, but idk. It would have been more interesting in my opinion.

Additionally, I had a hard time focusing on the anime due to the way they portrayed the child, Hikari. They said he was 1 going on 2, so as someone who works with that age group, I couldn’t help but notice every time Hikari wasn’t acting his age.

I won’t bore anyone with details, but basically, his gross motor movement is pretty behind for a boy who is almost 2. Meanwhile, his cognitive and emotional development is quite advanced for that age group. His ability to speak in nearly full sentences is not entirely out of the realm of possibility (I’ve taught 1 year olds with advanced vocabularies before) but his ability to still access his vocabulary during moments of emotional distress is less convincing.

I wish it was that easy to communicate with toddlers in the midst of an emotional meltdown. It would make teaching so much easier.

However, I did think it was a cute touch that after being compared to a star, Hikari spent the rest of the day pointing out every star he saw and calling it his own name. And I appreciate that they didn’t bother showing us the 20 more times he did the same exact thing the following two weeks.

Toddlers will 100% become obsessed with a tiny detail they overhear, and talk about it almost exclusively for weeks afterwards.

So be careful about what you say around toddlers. You never know what they will internalize and repeat like a broken record for the next 14 days straight.

Anyway, that’s basically my day in a nutshell.

oooooh, tough call. I go through ships like I go through fun outfits, so I don't have super strong OTPs most of the time. We're gonna give this one to a tie, for balance between fun and tragedy. Tuggofelees is super fun and I love it dearly, they're just fun guys to play around with. Orphydice, on the other hand, is an absolute tragedy that rips my heart out, and is the One True Pairing of its story. I don't really interact with it in a shippy way, but I love them and the entire story so they're going in here

Hitter Hacker Thief, no contest. I love a lot of poly ships, but these three are far and away my favorite darlings. It's the banter, and the absolute trust, and "till my dying day," I just love them. They're all so weird and spiky in their own ways, and they manage to fit together so so well.

oooooh! Gonna do two, and reach outside of my standard fandoms

One from my Ao3 bookmarks that is very far from any fandom I'm actually part of, but was so damn good that I still go back and reread it regularly anyways: 257 Years of Unanswered Correspondence with an Ardat-Yakshi Monastery. It's a Mass Effect fic by mylordshesacactus, companion piece to Nightwish (also very good!) by the same author. It makes me bawl my eyes out every single time I read it, without fail. It's an epistolary in the form of exactly what the title says: 257 years of messages sent by an Asari woman to a former classmate, with no response. It's painful, reflective of real world issues around disability and illness through a sci-fi lens, and so deeply hopeful. The line that stuck with me most, and makes me cry thinking about it, will not have its impact without the context of the full story, so I'm not going to quote it and will just say that it is very much worth reading to go find it yourself.

A true classic: Sansukh by determamfidd, a Hobbit fic. It's over 570k words of inter-generational trauma, love, kingly guilt, and amazing female dwarfs. Set in the dwarven afterlife with views into the living world during the events of the War of the Ring. The relationships between characters are the selling point here, they're written with depth, genuine care, and unique complexities to each one. Bagginshield is the main focus ship, but the importance of familial relationships and how they effect people is the main theme.

Hmm. I'm not really an author or artist, I mostly just write spontaneous essays while talking with friends, so I guess I'd like to find someone I can subject to my Leverage essay brain for character dissection purposes (I am so normal about them all). I've also had a cosplay planned but not created for Rose Red from the Mechanisms universe for a while, so I'll put her in here as well. I love her whole deal a lot, and I think being her (visually) would fix me for a bit.

My beloveds!!! Gonna go with a simple and sweet one today. They live with an old woman and her young wiccan grandaughter, and when the grandaughter is having a bad time and doing her own rituals to try to make things better, they'll slip a little of their magic in to make the things she's doing the ritual for happen faster and better than they might otherwise. She doesn't know that's happening, but grandma definitely does and slips them a little extra treat when they help.

How I Feel About This Character: He is actually everything to me. Every time I am watching the show I am waiting for him to show up. His character arc is everything to me. I'm not even there yet but at random times I just have flashes over the "If you're scared of losing your happy ending that means you've found it. What is it?" "Don't you know Emma? It's you." OH it's everything. I know that's captainswan... I'll get INTO them later. But just the idea that Hook spent ALL this time on revenge and then he turned himself around. ALSO just his fucking devotion. Like the whole revenge thing was because of his devotion to Milah. Like He is just everything to me. He is my guy.

All The People I Ship Romantically With This Person: I'll make it easy. It's one person. It is Emma. Captainswan was the first ship that I ever felt crazy about. I remember being like 11 and watching little captainswan edits on my iPod I still have them saved on youtube. They just made me so feral. I was sat in front of my TV every Sunday for Captainswan and Captainswan only. HE SOLD HIS SHIP FOR HER??????? He also WAS SCARED OF LOSING HIS HAPPY ENDING BECAUSE SHE WAS HIS HAPPY ENDING???????? EMMA THREW HERSELF INTO THE DARKNESS TO SAVE HIM!!!!! SHE WENT INTO THE UNDERWORLD PLANNING TO CUT HER HEART IN TWO TO SAVE HIM???? THEY WERE TESTED FOR TRUE LOVE AND THEY PASSED IT!!!!! Sorry I love them. I'm having flashbacks to the elevator scene and oh Hook kissing Emma's hand as she was going up kills me. I'm also thinking about the scene where Emma is trapped in the ice wall and Hook is like trying to get her out with his hook and nothing else. And then when she got out and they hugged and it was the most romantic fucking thing even without a kiss like they are so so so. They are everything oh my god. I don't care what anyone else says. They are everything to me. No matter how far away I get from them they are still everything to me. I haven't been obsessed with them in years and yet I'm all the way back there again. They are taking over all of my waking hours.

Anyway moving on.

My Non-Romantic OTPs for this ship: Neal. That's the first person I thought and it might be the only person who matters. Like their whole relationship was so like... I'm just thinking about that scene after everyone thought Neal was dead and he's in the hospital and Hook is there with him. And he lets him go find his dad or whatever but first he just hugs him and he tells him everything got in the way and messed them up and OH. In every other rewatch I didn't like Neal but this time watching it I fucking loved that man. He is my boy. and Hook and Neal together and their complicated history is just so... I wish there was more of them. I don't care I wish Neal with still alive and they could just be friends I don't care all the shit they had to work through. I want them as friends!

My unpopular opinion of this character: I have to be so honest right now. I have no idea what people think about Hook. Like I'm trying so hard to think of something I think of him that no one else does but I can't 😭 like in my head everyone thinks of Hook the same way I do.

One Thing You Wished Happened To This Character In Canon: We've already talked about this but yeah he should've been dark for longer. He should've been a dark one for a whole season. He should've had to deal with the darkness teasing him for weeks it should've followed him. He should've killed one of the dwarfs and I stand by it! You also already have all my thoughts on this 😭 so I will hold myself back from saying any more.

favourite canon pairing: ymmv on how canon it is, but considering it was pretty strongly teased in the series finale, Julio/Doña Paloma. I do find Carla/Mateo pretty cute as well.

worst pairing ever: I wouldn't say any of the pairings for the show are bad. It's just a lot of them don't particularly interest me. I could say Elena/Mateo, because personally I find it overrrated and I'm already gonna talk about it later. But I am going to go with Esteban/Doña Paloma.

I did actually kind of ship it the first time I watched the show...right up until the episode where their AU selves got married. And even though the whole point of "to Queen or Not to Queen" is that everything is absurd and everyone is wildly out-of-character (especially the two of them), they just seemed so miserable together and I couldn't unsee it. I also find it kind of annoying that Paloma is treated as sort of the default "acceptable" Esteban shipping option for people who don't want to pair him with OCs. And just...it's fine and I understand why many people would feel uncomfortable shipping him with certain characters (even if I don't)...but like...Victor is also right there. And honestly, I'm able to get a lot of the same vibes that I initially liked about esteoma out of estevictor, esteban/naomi, gaberico, and Julio/ Paloma---plus just I find those dynamics are more interesting in general.

guilty pleasure pairing: It used to be estebalena, but now, I have much less shame over it. It helps that I really only see it happening in S3 or later and that I hc that Elena would be the much more dominant/instigating partner in the relationship. I mean I guess Shuriki/Esteban is the obvious answer. But it is worth noting that I don't like it when it's genuine/mutual/romantic. I only like esteriki in the noncon/dubcon "Shuriki abusing her power" sense. So my guilty pleasure ship is less Shuriki/Esteban and more "Esteban/severe Shuriki-related trauma that leads to extreme woobification." I want him sad and pretty and haunted by the Dark Times™ so that he can have allll the angst, whump and hurt/comfort.

a pairing you want to see more: Literally every ship that isn't just some permutation of the Four Amigos. There are so many great characters in this ship that can be paired in so many interesting ways, but they rarely get acknowledged. I think I am particularly baffled by the lack of m/m in this fandom, since it's like the complete opposite of every other fandom ever. There's a bit of Mateo/Gabe, but honestly, it's positively dwarfed by other pairings for the amigos. (Also I don't care about Mateo, lol). There's also a criminally small bit of Gabe/Rico, but there could be so much more.

But honestly, the ship that I am genuinely baffled isn't more popular and really really want to see more of is Victor/Esteban. Like it just seems like a no-brainer to me. It has so many tropes that people normally go feral over. Childhood friends to lovers? Enemies to Lovers? Foe yay? Mutual redemption arcs? There isn't even an age difference and Victor's marriage is all-but-over. So, what is stopping people? I've seen at most a handful of ambiguously romantic ship art and not a single fic. Where is it? Where is the estevictor? Give me the estevictor!

that pairing everyone likes but you’re like “lol no” : Elena/Mateo. I mean I get why it's so popular given the popularity and attractiveness of both characters. But personally, I just don't find them interesting. I feel they both have better chemistry and interesting potential with other characters than they do with each other. And its popularity within the fandom certainly doesn't help, as my little contrarian hipster brain turns its nose up about 90% of fandom juggernaut pairings. Plus, I just don't care enough about Mateo to care about a ship with him. He's casually cute with Carla and I can see him with Gabe as well. But otherwise, nope. Don't like him enough to care who he's shipped with.

favorite non-romantic pair: There are a bunch of dynamics that I do ship sometimes (or more than sometimes) but I also love platonically. (Esteban & Elena, Elena & Naomi, Esteban & Naomi, Naomi & Gabe, Elena & Gabe, Elena & Valentina, Elena & Marisa, Chloe & Maliga, Cacahuate & Bobo, various permutations of "Team Isa"). "What is your favorite thing about the show in general?"

FOUND FAMILY!

I know that trope gets thrown around a lot but this show really is the peak of it imo. Because so often media that includes found family will have either a bunch of people pairing off romantically and complicating things (my main issue with the American version) and the platonic bonds get less focus than the romances (see the Good Place) or they keep people in set rules of "this is the dad, this is the mum" etc. The found family in Ghosts has so many layers and nuances and different dynamics. You can throw any two random people in a room and know exactly how they will get along and it's always different. How brilliantly the show takes SO much time to build Alison's relationship with the ghosts, going from enemies to friends to family, is just so incredible and it makes rewatching the show from start to finish such a joy to see those bonds built.

I'll admit I'm not a big shipper. I have a few otps but very rarely do I care about sex and romance. So for me I love that this show is basically about this whole group being platonic (or queerplatonic) soulmates. The only other shows with dynamics that come close for me are Derry Girls, Friends and Red Dwarf.

- All the OCs! I have heard through the tumblr rumblings that not all fandoms love OCs? The nature of dragon age is such that OCs are baked in and people go wild. YES! MORE OCS. MAKE THE OCS KISS!

- The deep head canons in various, under explored corners of the game. People out there writing entire long fics in Avvar country! People writing dwarf dynasties and long-running Chantry dramas. YES! MORE!

- The size? Is that valid? It's JUST big enough where there is a steady stream of fanfic and fan art and engaged fandom members, but not SO BIG that it's an overwhelming sea of noise and you're drowning in it and can't be like, known in tumblr and discord server communities.

24. how has fandom positively impacted your life?

I had been in a fantasy text-based RPG for a long, long time. It grew increasingly toxic over the years and I had finally had it. I quit in early 2021. But I missed the writing. Fast forward to Jan 2022 and I am writing my first Dragon Age fanfic. I had written fanfic before but had forgotten how much fun it can be to just play with the blorbos in your head. It nicely filled in the writing void the game left behind, and it's a lot less toxic! Downright wholesome.

Also I've made new and real friends! Two fandom friends I made in early early 2022 are now coming to my wedding this June irl. YOU SEE? WHOLESOME AF.

2. a headcanon you weren't sure about at first but have come to like!

"Solas was a spirit that Mythal bound to an elven body" as in, he was never born in the typical sense. At first I was like "pfft" but then I was like "oh ho ho ho? Cole saying cryptic shit? Yes? Hello?" and now it is in a WIP as a FACT for me. I think it's decently supported but as with all cryptic shit Cole says, you never know 100%. Who cares. I like it. insert marge-simpson-I-think-it's-neat meme.

I ship Kuzco and Snow White because I thought it would be cute for them to bond over the fact that they were both poisoned. I love them because Kuzco is a narcissist who sees only what's on the outside and thinks that he's the fairest one of them all, and Snowie, who is kind and sees only inner beauty, is oblivious to the fact that she's the fairest of them all. Snowie negates Kuzco's narcissism and teaches him humility. (She basically baked him a big, humble pie.)

DISCLAIMER: I have no gender, all speculation and observations come from outside data and might be wildly off-base.

First Inclination: Mothwing is one of the only she-cats not to have motherhood / mates as a main story arc or character trait, marking her as "different" from most other she-cats.

(Counter: medicine cats are forbidden to have mates / kits so this means nothing and is not a personal trait.) (Argument: that's never stopped them, especially when they're she-cats, which means that this IS a personal trait.)

(Counter: Leafpool.) (Argument: the warrior cats writers have said they won't put in openly queer characters due to marketing reasons, so any gay there is shipping and non-canon, alas my otp but whatever)

Second Inclination: To be transfem without HRT or similar implies some sort of social culture in warrior cats that acknowledges there IS in fact a noticeable difference in what toms and mollys are expected to do or what character traits they are expected to have, outside of purely physical features. As in, a social or personal identity that separates the two and would have to be actively bridged.

In a world like this, the closest a transfem cat could get to intentionally embodying the "motherly" "kit-raising" "supportive" "accepts responsibility when things go wrong" traits associated with she-cats in the series would be through either somehow helping out the Queens with their kits, adopting kits, OR, stepping into the role of Medicine Cat, which would also take away any social stigma about the physical inability to carry kits herself, since Medicine Cats are (supposedly) not allowed to have any.

(Counter: the Medicine Cat role still skews more male than female, so how can it be more associated with she-cats?) (Argument: all leadership roles are more commonly held by toms, but the Medicine Cat is specifically meant to nurse and tend their clan when they are sick and injured- as in, when they are reduced to the weakness and helplessness of a kitten and need someone to look after them as such, a role that most closer mirrors Queens with their kits.)

(Counter: if fulfilling the role of Medicine Cat counts towards Mothwing's social transition in the eyes of her clan and or herself, then wouldn't her failure to fully embody the role- due to her lack of connection to Star Clan- count against either this interpretation or the legitimacy of it in the eyes of her and her clan?) (Argument: Mothwing being exceptionally good at nursing cats- re: Mudfur her mentor's comments on her- and having THAT as her sole focus rather than being go-between for Star Clan and her clan / clan Leader, highlights how the caring and nurturing side of the Medicine Cat role is the one she is best and most interested in, further tying her to any she-cat / motherly connotations it might have and showing an active disinterest in the more tom associated roles in her clan.)

Third Inclination: while canon says Hawkfrost, her brother, was the larger one, I personally love the idea of super massive giant muscle fluff ball former warrior turned doctor Mothwing.

Toms are generally understood to be bigger than mollys, and while an exceptionally large she-cat is perfectly possible, I dream of a Mothwing that dwarfs all other cats but is so Mothwing about it no one really notices until she wants them to.

Transfem Mothwing can exist without this idea but I like doubling them up for a Mothwing to rival even fanon Tigerclaw in size. The Mothwing who casually stopped a pursuing patrol on her own... and yet... the irony of giant Mothwing frozen in horror watching a clanmate almost down the same way her brother did as a kit, size and strength meaning nothing against the memory of being small and helpless... the impact of Hawkfrost's emotional hold over her, not posing a physical threat but being a more terrible emotional and social one as her ambitious and cunning brother, the only family she has left...

Imagine a sick cat being treated by her for the first time, looking around for the nice Medicine Cat to heal them- and this absolute UNIT of a cat comes padding over, the biggest gentlest giant, here to delicately patch cobwebs over an open wound and make sure the injured cat is comfy- then softly but Firmly push them back down with a paw if they try running off before their wound has healed.

(Counter: definitely not canon.) (Argument: trans Mothwing is not and will never be canon anyway, at least let me have fun dreaming about it.)

(Counter: the idea that all physically bulky females must be trans is bad and harmful to everyone.) (Argument: canon Mothwing isn't physically bulky, she's at most very fluffy, and making more trans cats in general would allow for many different ways of being trans to be shown. Picking any single one of them alone will always turn it into a stereotype, because there is no way of being trans that isn't in some way hated. If we're worried about Mothwing being 'good' rep then have her be just one of several trans cat characters, to allow for a variety of trans body types, personalities, and story arcs, and the realism that brings.)

Final hypothetical: the name "Moth" and trans symbolism.

While not canon, it would be a thematically and emotionally appropriate scenario for Sasha to watch her- then unnamed- golden dappled tabby kit intently watching a caterpillar complete it's journey into a moth, then, when asking about the kit's fascination with it, be answered with a question-

If caterpillars can turn into moths, can the kit turn into a molly like Sasha too someday?

To then have Sasha answer by naming her kit "Moth", later to be combined with "Wing" as Mothwing is fully accepted into her new home in River clan later, would be a cute and affirming bit of visual word play for a trans character to have.

also the idea that Mothwing would have gotten a fellow Medicine Cat pregnant for any reason makes me want to run head first into a tree

Least Favorite Thing About Them: How the writers of the 2015 ABC sitcom the muppets. portrayed Janice as so over the top ditzy that she acted passive and with no opinions or desires of her own while the male characters Sam the Eagle, Floyd Pepper and Dr Teeth treated her as an object of dispute wich they were entitled to have as a romantic partner.

Unpopular Opinion: Her toddler design with open eyes and already big lips in 1984's Muppet Babies looks pretty unsetling. The illustrations for the Muppet Kids books reached a better natural look for a young Janice, with more subtle lipstick around her lips and her characteristic closed eyes.
