new tragic plot line by the way is both the to-be snake witch (older daughter) and the current snake witch (mother) die so it goes to the younger daughter who is too young to even traditionally be a witch but the mothers familiar deems it to be so

#the original plot line was that the oldest daughter dies soon after she starts to inherit it (the phase mochi goes through pre-timeskip)#so it goes back to the mom #but post time skip the mom also dies so it goes to the younger daughter #but i want to make something specific to that region of the map that has strong soul connections so she can still talk to them #but yeah shes gonna be the tragic character #who mochi lowkey adopts in spirit #more like a cool older sister but the young snake witch latches onto her emotionally #the only other person to watch out for her is like an older brother figure who was in her sisters guild #he was like the lime to her sister #(and marshall lowkey but thats more like a hinted future relationship for a post-game spinoff quest or something)#but in my mind when i think about the 5 witches that fight the witch king the young daughter is among them and not the mom #shes forced to learn a lot very fast #(young like maybe 13-14 post timeskip?)

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison

I liked this book for its court intrige and enduring kindness and really unprecedent depth of storytelling

Witch King by Marta Wells

I liked this book for being a cool concept, easy to read while having deep subject matter and absolutely no romance while really being about the connection between people

Swordcrossed by Freya Marske

I liked the textile industry intrige but mostly it's about the gay swordfighting thirst

The Murderbot Chronicles by Martha Wells

I love these for being so funny, so easy to read and so contemplative about the nature of personhood and self determination

Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell

Romance that is all about personal boundaries, court intrige and Prince Kiem, one of the best people person characters I ever read.

Maurice by E.M. Forster

A classic gay novel for classic gay feelings. Gave me unexpected aro feelings as well. A happy ending despite it being a 1914 novel.

Astielle by Kitty Unpretty

I will happily accept the fact that this is a monsterfucker webnovel for the prequel chapters which are a heartbreaking account of empire building featuring Vaelon, a man so charming the moonlight grew legs to follow him around. I adore him. Also this one is free to read, but not finished yet

The Grand Princess by 墨书白

This one is a cnovel that's only partially translated, but the show is on Netflix so I'm watching that now. Don't know how it ends yet, but I love the slow romance of two political power houses who killed each other in a past life. This is the fan translation I've read

Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett

I'm rereading this one because I was told I should be falling asleep thinking about adding value to my company and it sounded so much like this person needed Mr Nutt in his life

honestly galadriel being a witch in the way that *we* know what a witch is, is so so so good. words have meaning and you told a demon to bind himself to you. you enchanted a demon to touch the darkness. yeah you’re a golden paladin NOW. you’re a paladin to the elves sure. but paladins swear oaths and you’ve been casting spells, and they look so similar don’t they.

#silm #silmarillion #second age #ar pharazon #reverse gondolin au #(well more like the aftermath of gondolin reversal)#this au has consumed my life #on the plus side inspiration for feanor is finally reemerging from under the metaphorical couch so i might get something finwion-y done soo #aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa so much to draw so little time #seriously though golden nazgul is such a cool idea #whatever the mordor equivalent for the angband trio is (sauron pharazon and shelob maybe?) is going to look so cool in black and gold #black/gold black hole shelob!!#and prince elrond is super finwiony looking #also he has his wings & glowiness out a lot more so that'll be fun #but yeah basically in the au Prince Elrond realized via foresight what was happening/going to happen in numenor #so he went there and disowned ar pharazon (by extension removing him from the throne) and crowned tar miriel rightful Ruling Queen #then later when sauron showed up he came back kicked sauron out and outlawed the death cult #but between that time sauron secretly recruited ar pharazon by promising him kingship in exchange for his support #and anyways ar pharazon survived all the way to the TA as the Witch King #(mr. angmar here gets to be second in command of the nazgul sorry)#-imagine this guy showing up to be all 'bagginssss' though #the witch king of numenor is somehow even more dramatic #also the whole 'no living man can kill me' is. a bit different coming from a guy who has many enemies in the form of #a) his cousin the Ruling Queen of Numenor #b) his uncle the choice-of-elves-peredhel #c) a bunch of Faithful in the Halls #the dead guys aren't too much of a problem #but i wonder if he heard that prophecy and worried a whole lot more about the Ruling Queens #or Prince Elrond who in the au has very definitely embraced his maia-ness #and then imagine his surprise hearing 'but no living man am i' and it coming from. a random human lady.

every so often i get a horrible little thought in my head that says but what if you DID adapt all of toh season one into your daemon au.

and every time i beat that god damned thought back with a stick. but do know there IS a section in my notes document that is me REALLY wanting to adapt a few s1 episodes dkjgdfg.

bc like. i made the right choice. the stuff i was/am still most excited to write is all s2 + s3 stuff--but like. agony of a witch? young blood old souls? the intruder?!

it would be me writing like 250k more words of entirely setup but that doesnt mean i dont think about it!

#chatter #theres actually a nonzero chance i write the intruder lol i think i wanted it to be a side story at one point #but as of now it obvi wouldnt fit anywhere into the plot. it might end up more as a flashback?#i just think of ALL the s1 episodes that one would change the most #since the route i took with the owl beast is uh. way different lol. for one shes seen king as her kid since the start <3 #she and eda were just. very reluctant coparents at the start lol #actually back when this was just an idea and i hadnt started writing yet #i DID almost start off at agony of a witch instead of s2e1 #again i think i made the right choice (showed the Big Important Moment from the s1 final episodes in my s2p1)#but STILL. i THINK ABOUT IT #woes of writing a fic series that will likely end at over 1 million words </3 why am i like this #also i guess technically i wrote a daemon au version of the library episode #but that was uhhh forever ago and before s2 came out (or at least before i watched it? idk when i wrote that one actually lol)#and ive made some MAJOR changes since then lol.#i guess technically my massive au is a reboot of that. but. different.#tho of course mari and alma return <3 its actually really funny theyre the only kids w unique daemons/palismen #since like flapjack clover ghost etc didnt exist yet but by the time i started writing Big Boy Au #they did! and i just poached them!#still think i got the vibes pretty close tho. especially stringbean i freaking NAILED luz's arc i absolutely called it <3

My dad’s in Kolkata right now for reasons (don’t ask me why I’m just as clueless) but he offered to bring me a couple of my books from my old place there and I had to sit here 8938 kms away having to choose between all of my children. What will the rest of them do??? I feel like bad mother choosing between her kids.

There's like fifteen characters in Merriment and Mirth with corvid theming because I am a predictable ass motherfucker but the characters Ravena and Ravenley, who have Raven in their very names, use owls and rats (respectively) as their motifs

#auntie ravena is the witch of the wood #she's strictly speaking a wicked witch #really big on curses #she's turned at least seven of my characters into animals #ravenley is her son #he was taken by fairies as a little boy and now he's a fairy king #he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder because she never tried to get him back #and happily raised the fairy child they left in his place #at least until he got kidnapped by goblins #he may not have been kidnapped it's entirely possible she just straight up got bored and handed him over #she is not mother material our ravena #i love her dearly

Daichi urges him while gently telling Miko that he's completely fine, and he is fine with Ryuji being mean to him. "Don't worry, Miko! I'm Daichi PheonX! Words have no effect on me!" He smiles. Meanwhile...in the cafeteria....

"Yes! After what he did that to Todo!" Kinie Ger grins, "I'm starting to like this girl more!"

"Is that why?! Todo isn't that bad! He's intense sure but he isn't a bad guy!' Taz said.

"Ha! Even so, seeing him get beat up by Miko made my day better!' Kinie Ger responded. Taz sighs.

"W-w-wrestling moves?" Konekomura said. Shima whistles, "Wow, Izumo. You're so lucky!"

"What was that supposed to mean?!" Izumo said. "It means Miko hasn't tried to do an ankle bar on you or suplex you to the ground," Yuria said with Hana nodding with a happy expression. "Yep! Miko is a big fan of wrestling!" Hana said with a goofy smile. Izumo yells, "How is that a good thing?!"

Konekomura and Shima jumped when Ryuji is thrown back inside the cafeteria.

"Bon!" Shima and Konekomura went over and checked up on him. "Jeez...I hate to be the one who gets her mad." Said Shima. Konekomura nods, "Shiemi! We need your help."

"I think he's going to be fine." Izumo said. "Sorta...?"

"I am scared what else you taught Yuria and Hana...." Kamo sweatdropped. Panda raised a hand, "Not to worry, Hana is being taught by our Doctor Ieiri. As for Yuria, Daichi is training her." He said.

"That's what makes me so worried! Not Hana, of course. But Yuria? I can get Mai to teach her about firearms!" Kamo said. Yuria shakes her head, "Not to worry, once I get more teaching from Yukio-sensei! I think I got this in the bag!" She smiles.

"HOW CAN'T I IF SHE'S THIS STRONG! WILL YOU TELL HER TO PUT ME DOWN!! HOW CAN SHE EVEN LIFT ME ABOVE HER HEAD!?" Ryuji was shouting outside still but she was indeed holding him above her head.

"TRAINING THAT'S WHAT! HOW ABOUT I JUST BODY SLAM YOU INSTEAD YOU-"

"Miko, Miko. Thank you for helping me, just put him down! He has already learn his lesson!"

"YEAH PUT ME DOWN YOU CRAZY-" She then body slams him but now pulling his leg. "OWOWOWOWOWOOW STOP STOP STOOOPPP!!"

"She is indeed! She's part of it. This is too good!" Sukuna kept laughing with tears in his eyes.

"Sukuna please stop laughing! I know Kinie is too! This is not funny!" Yuji said.

"Oh yes it is!" He laughed more.

"What I been teaching her? Oh just defense and offense but she's really good in wrestling moves. With them, she can really twist curses in knots if she wanted to. Reminds me of the time she beat up this really giant vase curse by herself, she even took out a bad guy group that kidnapped her and an even bigger curse as well!" Maki said happy yet proud like nothing was wrong.

"Woah woah woah she did what!? By herself!" Rin, Izumo and Shiemi said shocked.

"Yeahhhhh...we didn't tell you that story. Pretty crazy but hey, it's thanks to her training. Miko is pretty good." she smiled. "I'm so proud of her."

Rioto whispers to Akia, "I'm glad I haven't met her yet when I was fighting Daichi."

"Thinking of much, if she knew you did, she would have done to same to you too.." Miwa said worried. "But I'm sure it would be fine...I think?"

Hana giggles, "That's Miko for you!"

"Yep that is her indeed.." Yuria said rubbing the back of her head.

"Yeah...wait! how could she even take them out like that!?" Rin asked.

"She just can. She is my student after all." Maki said smiling. "That's why one should never anger the honey badger or she will bite." she giggled before seeing Ryuji throw back inside the room but he was dizzy with stars over his head from the beating by Miko.
