Requests not able call multiple routes in same Flask application

I am not able to successfully use Python Requests to call a second route in the same application using Flask. I know that its best practice to call the function directly, but I need it to call using the URL using requests. For example:

Drabble - Skating

“Hey, Dante, do you have any plans for tonight?” “Well, I was planning on finishing up this article before grabbing a drink. Why?” “Well…” Walking over to the man who looked far too comfortable at his desk as usual, you gently set down the paper that you were holding and slid it toward him. Seeing the man peer around his magazine and skim his eyes slowly over the sheet presented to him, you waited a moment before you continued, “I found out that there’s a roller-skating rink near here from the local attractions list, and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?” “Roller skating?” Dante chuckled as he closed this booklet and set it on the desk near the paper you had just set down. “Of all the attractions on here, what made roller skating stick out to you?” “Well, I used to roller skate all the time when I was younger, and I kind of miss doing it,” you explained as you leant against the worn wooden desk’s edge. “It’s been years since I’ve gone roller skating, not since I did derby anyway.” “I didn’t know you played derby before. What, did you miss being smacked around by women and decide that demons were a good substitute?” Dante asked as he crossed his arms over his chest, his voice light and playful. “I mean, I didn’t necessarily enjoy being smacked around by women; it was just part of the game.” “Necessarily?” “Look, do you want to go or not?” you asked as you rolled your eyes playfully. “They have an open skate from 7 to 10 tonight, so we’d need to leave pretty soon to make it.” “… Yeah, this could be fun. I’ll join you.

”The roller-skating rink was way more different than any of the ones you had ever gone to in the past, its wooden rink floors shiny and barely scratched, and the padding along the walls barely looked dented and torn from being smashed into. The carpet that covered the floor outside of the rink was very boring and quite clean too, lacking the colourful assortment of random shapes over a black base that you were accustomed to, and you wondered when skate rinks had followed the rest of the world into the movement away from obnoxious and nostalgic carpeting to a more modern and boring appearance. Shaking your head a bit and then shifting your eyes down from the skating rink to your skates, you firmly tugged your laces into a tight knot before sitting up right and gently sliding your feet back and forth a bit on the terribly boring carpet to make sure your skates felt alright. Happy with the feel, you turned your head to the man sitting next to you and watched as he slowly looked over the rollerblades that he held in his hands. His face looked a bit puzzled as he looked over them, a look that was very rarely seen on Dante. “Dante, have you ever been skating before?” you asked quietly to the man, your fingers gently sliding against the carpeted seat you sat on as you spoke. “Nope,” he answered honestly as he slowly slipped the blades onto his feet and began to create a knot in the laces. “It’s pretty easy actually,” you said as you watched him. Standing yourself up, you slowly rolled yourself around to face the man as you waited for him. He didn’t take a long time to tighten his laces, and as he finished and looked up to you, you couldn’t help but smile a bit. “Ready?” you asked. “About as ready as I’ll ever be,” Dante replied with a small smile. You reached your hand out to him, and when he gently took it, you carefully helped the man to his feet, your other hand reaching up and gently grasping onto the man’s other arm as he stood. He didn’t fumble as he stood up, and you were only slightly impressed by the sight. Turning your head and looking over the wooden rink floor, you were happy to see that there weren’t many people on it. Turning back, you released and then held out your other hand to the man and waited for him to take it. “Thankfully there aren’t a lot of people here tonight,” you said as Dante gently placed his free hand in yours. “So, the basic jist of skating is kind of similar to walking really.” Feeling yourself slip right back into the groove of skating, you pulled Dante with you as you made your way backwards to the skate rink. The man didn’t fall as you slowly moved over the carpeted area, and he didn’t fall when you both made it to the more hazardous wood flooring, something that impressed you only just a bit. You explained how to skate as you pulled the man, your feet moving yourself backwards very naturally as you made your way around the skate rink. It had been such a long time since the last time you had gone skating, but the feeling hadn’t left you in all that time. It was such a nice feeling to experience again, and you couldn’t help but smile as you moved. You and Dante moved at a moderate pace once you had explained the basics of skating to the man, his movements a bit stiff but deliberate as he kept your pace well. Your hands never left the mans as you guided him, and you enjoyed the warmth and the familiar feeling of his callused touch as he held tightly onto yours. You circled the rink with him a few times as you watched him and tried to gauge how comfortable he was. The more you and he moved, the more relaxed and comfortable you became, your hands and his not letting up despite how comfortable you became. “Hey, I’m a bit thirsty; do you want something to drink?” you asked after a while of skating. You had forgotten how tiring skating could be, and it was only when you had slowed down a bit that you felt how dry your mouth was and the light layer of sweat that covered you. Seeing Dante nod a bit at your question, you slowly led

the man to the edge of the rink, your hands not leaving his until you were both safely at the edge. “What do you want to drink?” you asked as you slipped yourself off of the wooden floor and onto the carpeted area once more. “Anything is fine with me,” the man said as he leant himself over the rink wall to meet you at eye level, his face resting in his palm gently as he spoke. “I’ll surprise you then,” you said with a light chuckle. “Be right back.” Seeing a nod of confirmation from Dante, you slowly pushed yourself off toward the concessions stand. Thankfully there was no line as you got there, and it didn’t take long for you to get a couple of lemonades to drink. The chilled drinks’ condensation mixed with the slight sweat on your hands as you made your way back to where Dante was, the cold feeling a welcome one to your over heated feeling. It was as you slowly neared the place where you had left Dante that you noticed the man was not where you had left him. Confused as to where he could have gone, you stopped yourself just short of the entrance to the wooden floor nearest where you had just seen him not but 5 minutes ago. You gazed around the whole area, your eyes drifting around the boring carpeted area as you searched for where Dante could have gone. You were extremely confused as to how you could have lost such a prominent man in a place that wasn’t terribly crowded until you heard the very distinct sound of rubber scooting over wooden board. Turning your eyes quickly to the sound, you couldn’t help but frown sharply at the sight. There was Dante, in all his all-mighty show off-y glory, skating backwards with the grace of a seasoned professional near the far back wall of the rink. No stumbling seen, and no hesitation in his moments, the man had his hands comfortably interlocked behind his back as if he had no other care in the world. Watching intently, the man didn’t notice you as he carelessly lifted his leg up and rotated on his other to face forward, the sound of rubber on wood occurring again as his lifted foot met the floor again so that he could continue skating forward. The man skated until he was forced to turn, his eyes slowly meeting yours as you continued to watch him ever so closely. On meeting your intent gaze, the man could only smile, his eyes barely softening as a slight cheeky smile appeared on his face. Knowing the farce was up, Dante made his way over to you, one of his heels leaning down so the rubber break scraped along the floor to slow his movement as he neared the wall. The smooth stop at the wall the man made was accompanied with his elbows gently resting on the top of the wall, his eyes meeting yours at eye-level once again with his grin never left his face. “Get enough practice in while I was gone?” you asked as you shoved the man’s drink into his hands a bit roughly. Dante could only laugh a bit as he grabbed his drink from you. “This wasn’t the hardest thing I’ve ever had to learn. And you never asked if I knew how to skate, to be fair,” he replied as he lifted his drink to his lips to sip from. Rolling your eyes once again, you sipped your own drink a bit before holding your hand out to the man. “Alright, you goddamn show off,” you said as Dante handed you his drink, your voice very light and playful. Skating backwards a bit, your gently set down the two drinks you held before spinning yourself around before quickly pushing off the carpeted area and onto the wooden floor once again. “Show me what you can do,” you called out to Dante as you moved away from the man. Seeing the cheeky grin on his face turn into a genuine smile, you watched as Dante pushed himself off the wall and began to make his way toward you, his one hand slowly reaching towards yours as he neared you. “Shall we dance then?”
