More DMC x DP XD Danny hanging out with the crew uwu. Ghost be his mum uwu. ;3 Imagine Danny like 16-17 and since Patty did always claim she date someone younger (even if its a joke) she does get a mini-crush on danny. But then they become cool friends uwu Patty sticking up for him and showing him around properly. And when Dante away for long periods he crashes with Nero and them. Ends up being Nico's driving buddy. OH NEAT THING IS- I imagine like Danny helping dust and clean and accident knock open a case that had the swords from dmc3 (Agni and Rudra) Which Dante had cooped up because they wouldn't shut up again. Which then becomes Danny's problem and Dante nopes out letting kid handle them. They end up becoming rings for him though since he has such an affinity to magic he can make use of their full power. (Granting him control of fire n ice which he lost since he got into this world) Which is why he can casually light Nico's cigarettes to keep her from trying to find a lighter while driving :D I explained the situation poorly its much funnier situation and makes sense in my head. But I can't draw it out atm T w T. Danny bumping his fist to shut them up sometimes. Dante like uwu you felt sorry for them kiddo uou. They can be annoying and butt in- but Danny also encourages it... to annoy Dante in revenge =w=b But only when Dante is around. XD For having him fight them. Which they fought him- so he could claim ownership =w= And then the thing with his mom. Sadly it is a character from DMC I killed off >> and have to work around to make the storyline work with the other dmc titles. But I felt like She would work well for this kind of story, and also just pain :D ;w; I actually like her.. I swear... But I imagine at least atm (could change depending) that she was tricked by chronos ( the half that still laid in this world) to create a portal to save Danny- which it did send him to a safer home-but the portal required a sacrifice to work... and she ended up becoming it.
Only for technically Danny becoming one himself :D Also Danny because of his ghostliness is very attuned to magic and imagine Vergil helps spur this on- noting it right away that he's a spell caster. Which does give Danny his niche. Also imagine Danny doing his own kind of work- being able to see spirits and interact constantly- they both help him while he also helps them in return. The ghosts when completing their business turning into a crystal tear of memory. Which has its own uses. The ghosts both help and hinder missions. Though can also see them mistaking Danny for an angel of death which disturbs him a bit.
which this is all head canon stuff that can change hehe. I've been simmering over this for months. I really dove deep in the weeds and can't express even a quarter what I thought of XD. Oh and the bracelet thing becomes like in universe reason how danny can carry all his shit.. also like a gift from clockwork/chronos as the chain comes from the staff. Like he "knew" ;3 That's the god of time for ya.

oops i accidentally wrote a review for zelda II: the adventure of link
(originally posted to Cohost on Feb 22, 2024. you can ignore this if you want, i just wanted it archived somewhere before that site disappears)
Finally beat Zelda II for the first time last night (I forced myself to finish it before starting Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC, because I knew if I didn't push through to the end of the Great Palace THIS time then it'd be years before I tried beating it again. This is probably my 4th or 5th attempt at this point). Not that this is a particularly hot take by most people's standards, but I don't think it's all that good, at least from a gameplay standpoint.
I don't regret playing it though, because I think I'm finally able to put my finger on the stuff I actually disliked about it vs the stuff that was honestly fine, or even (very rarely) actually good? I'm kinda fascinated by it, honestly. Sequels where they immediately screw around with the first game's formula (to mixed results) are neat! FE Gaiden is another example that comes to mind (hey they should give Zelda II the Shadows of Valentia treatment, that could be really cool actually).
Obviously Zelda II has a reputation for being kind of a rough experience. It's an NES game, and NES games are often susceptible to being frustrating, buggy, hard to control, or overly punishing. Sometimes, all of the above! And for what it's worth, the original Legend of Zelda was a tough and sometimes very cryptic experience as well. But I feel like the two games are challenging in drastically different ways, and I think TLoZ ended up being the formula that was retained in the long term primarily because its method of challenging the player overall did a better job of inspiring curiosity and exploration. Despite narratively being a direct sequel (with a really badass story premise that is unfortunately not really conveyed at all in-game) Zelda II took a different approach to nearly every element of the original's gameplay, which is a pretty bold move I suppose. Whether or not it succeeds at anything is fairly subjective, but it's undeniably had a lasting impact on the series, as well as the people who grew up with it (and then they went on to make some really excellent mid-2000's flash games inspired by it that I frankly enjoyed a lot more than this... and also a weirdly solid licensed Adventure Time game on the 3DS? I should go back and play that sometime, it's really fun).
Where to start with this...? Uhhh, the EXP-based leveling system where you choose what stats to put your points into is interesting! It creates a risk-and-reward system for fighting enemies instead of avoiding them, whereas in most other Zelda games besides BotW/TotK, the only reward for killing monsters is "they are no longer bothering you while you solve puzzles, and also sometimes they drop rupees/hearts/ammo". It also introduces a bit more player choice in what areas you'd like to get stronger in first, which is cool! I just wish it actually mattered in a way that let you feel powerful for even a moment. Instead, leveling Life (which is functionally just defense) is never enough to actually make you feel like you can afford to take a hit - the expectation seems to be that leveling Attack, Life, and Magic is something you do purely to keep up with how badly every single thing in this game wants to stomp you into the ground and soak up a million hits and waste all your magic. You CAN skip out on leveling one stat to prioritize another, or even try to evade tough combat situations entirely, but if you aren't leveled enough and in the exact things the game expects you to be WHEN it expects you to be, you'll immediately bump into some new asshole who jumps out of nowhere and can cut you down in 2-3 hits. Leveling doesn't make you tangibly stronger, it merely keeps the game barely playable.
This actually ends up being the core problem I have with Zelda II's design, far more than just the combat being clunky and overly punishing or the levels being visually samey and super hard to navigate. In most Zelda games (and also in a lot of other RPGs!), you get a better sword or a new power or item, and it opens up exciting new options for both exploration and combat. In Zelda II, you level up or earn a new item/spell, it's useful for maybe 20-30 minutes, and then it's immediately nullified. Wow, you got the Fire spell! Now you can finally deal with Tektites and Basilisks (which are immune to all other attacks) on the way to the next area! Well, I hope you had fun with that, because Fire doesn't work on most things you run into afterwards.
Easily the biggest game-changer is when you unlock the Downward Thrust sword technique, and finally have another option for combat besides just crouch-hopping and poking monsters with a dull butter knife. It's satisfying to use, it looks cool (by this game's standards), and it even has some utility for crossing hazards or defending yourself against swooping enemies! Cool! Unfortunately, they don't let you play around with that for long either, before nearly every enemy you see starts rolling up with helmets or shells that make them immune to attacks from above, and you never really get anything like that again (the Upward Thrust exists later, but it's far more situational and frankly not very fun or intuitive to use). Rather than feeling like you're being given tools to overcome challenges and stay above the difficulty curve, it feels like you're constantly just slightly underequipped for everything (even if you grind to earn extra stat levels) and any edge you're given is swiftly taken away from you. (Except the Reflect spell, which is ALWAYS a banger after you get it because it makes your shield Actually Do Its Damn Job after nearly every enemy starts shooting projectiles you can't block. Good work, Reflect spell.)
I feel like I grew up hearing plenty of people talk about the overall difficulty of Zelda II, though most of the complaints about its puzzles were surface-level jabs about the short cryptic NPC text, and none of that prepared me for just how ridiculously obtuse its mandatory puzzles/secrets can be. I genuinely have no idea how anyone would EVER find the Life spell - pretty much your ONLY source of healing outside of towns, since there are no hearts to pick up in this game - without some kind of guide. I was FURIOUS when I finally looked up where to find that lady's mirror and discovered that you have to walk into one of the houses, go over to the table that looks EXACTLY like every other table in every other house in the entirety of Hyrule, crouch, and press B, and you'll just pull the mirror out of nowhere. This type of interaction does not exist ANYWHERE else in the game and there's no in-game hint to indicate that you should try this. Absolutely maddening.
This and its predecessor are both games that seemingly expect you to have the physical manual on hand to help you find secrets, but at least in the first game, the way the game was designed was consistent enough that you COULD feasibly find your way to the end of it without a guide. Bombable walls in dungeons always being located in the center, things like that. It had rules and it could generally be trusted to follow them. Zelda II, in comparison, has a final level (the Great Palace) in which there are numerous rooms that look IDENTICAL and if you make one wrong turn you can go through the entire [very difficult and dangerous] dungeon on a path parallel to the one you need to be on, only to hit a dead end and be able to see the spot you're supposed to be reaching on the other side of a wall. Except you would also never KNOW you need to get there, because it looks like another dead end full of monsters but there's actually a completely invisible hole somewhere in the floor over there that drops you into the hallway leading towards the final boss. Also there is no map. TLoZ had a map. I don't know why this game doesn't have a map. Possibly because if you try to look up maps online, most of the dungeons feature non-Euclidean spaces? Idk, even a Super Metroid-style grid map would've done wonders here.
The combat is... fine? I truly don't understand how anyone thinks it's GREAT though. Zelda II is kind of like a version of Castlevania where you don't have a whip and instead have to stab everything at extremely short range, and also sometimes enemies have shields so you have to crouch sometimes to stop them from blocking you. It feels tense and high-stakes but only because, as I mentioned earlier, you really cannot afford to take stray hits in this game. Most enemies chew through your health at an alarming rate, even with the Shield spell active, and there's almost no way to replenish it unless you use a Life spell (which costs a huge chunk of your magic, possibly softlocking you if you end up in a place that requires other spells to progress). I got better at the combat over the course of my playthrough, but I never felt like I got good at it - most of my victories against strong enemies felt like pure luck and there were rarely consistent strategies for success. All of this combined with the fact that Zelda II has limited lives (and I mean LIMITED - there are only six 1-UPs in the entire game, which can each only be collected once) and getting a Game Over anywhere outside of the final palace will send you all the way back to the starting area, and it makes for an incredibly stressful experience. Even making use of savestates to lighten the fear of death can only do so much to improve it.
Overall, I think that Zelda II is a game that has a lot of really promising ideas, but then just absolutely flops when it comes to the execution. I didn't have a better way of organizing these but here are a few examples of elements I DID particularly like, even if they didn't always stick the landing:
I like the idea of the RPG leveling system in theory, but wish it was more empowering in practice and actually let the player make meaningful choices instead of just being required to survive. Choosing to hold off on a Life upgrade and instead save up just a little longer to boost your Attack feels awesome, until you time one of your inputs wrong and get destroyed. In a game with better-tuned difficulty and combat, this system would be great!
I REALLY like that Zelda II introduced a magic system to the series! I think it's cool as hell to have Link learning and casting spells to protect himself, solve puzzles, and exploit enemy weaknesses, instead of relying purely on items. (It's honestly weird to think that a system I associate so strongly with classic Zelda gameplay has only actually showed up in 4 of the games?? I guess you could consider the runes/hand abilities in BotW/TotK to be kind of like modern spells, or the slowly-refilling energy gauge in ALBW to be the most recent iteration of a Magic Meter, but both are highly debatable. Anyways I just think they should let Link shapeshift into a fairy again, that was cool.) But most of the spells in this are fairly situational and your access to magic refills is so limited that you rarely have the freedom to experiment with the spells' secondary functions (hey did you know the Spell spell turns most enemy types into slimes? that's wild. I wish I'd known that sooner).
The overworld functioning like a traditional JRPG, with top-down exploration broken up by semi-random enemy encounters, was something I honestly didn't hate. It's a little weird for Zelda, sure, but I could see it working well to support other systems in a more polished game. Overworld encounters that switch you into a type of gameplay other than turn-based JRPG combat are something I've always been fascinated by!
Anyways, weird game! I'm glad I finally got closure so I could figure out how I personally feel about it, independent of whatever the random youtubers I watched as a teenager thought. And now I never have to play it again :)

Runes and Ruin Part 3
An Arcane G/T Fic
Notes: you can have some fluff on top of the hurt/comfort I suppose. I really needed the boys to talk through some stuff so here you go I hope you all like it :>
—————————————
It was a week before Jayce couldn’t make any more excuses to get out of council duty. Surprisingly, Viktor had almost forgotten that that was still something Jayce had to do. The two had been so focused on figuring out how to solve Viktor’s problem that it almost felt like when they were young- when they’d spend hours together bouncing ideas off each other and dreaming of what they could create. The rift that had opened up between them after Jayce had taken up his spot on the council- usually gaping and hungry, too difficult to cross at best and impossible to see the other side of at worst- had closed to something almost ignorable. Almost.
“Do you think they’d believe it if I said I had another doctor’s appointment?” Jayce groaned, running his hand through his neatly groomed hair as he stared at himself in the mirror. Viktor watched from Jayce’s pillow, where he’d taken to sitting whenever Jayce wasn’t in bed, with mildly hidden amusement as Jayce picked and preened at his appearance, much like the birds that took up residence in the campus gardens, although he knew the man would argue about the comparison.
“Not unless you want them to think you’re dying,” Viktor scoffed.
Jayce groaned again, eyes falling from the mirror to Viktor apologetically, “I know. But I…I’m still sorry I have to do this.”
“It’s fine, Jayce,” Viktor shrugged, trying his hardest not to let his disdain for his partner’s position show through, “Like you said, we can go to the lab later. And what’s another late night?”
Jayce nodded halfheartedly- and the small jealous part of Viktor beamed at the knowledge that at least for once he took priority over the council. The brilliant man that all of Piltover adored would rather be with him. Viktor chose to stop that train of thought immediately.
He watched raptly as Jayce continued to get ready. The warmth of the pillow enveloping him and the smell of Jayce’s cologne still sticking to the fabric was almost enough to put him back to sleep. But sleeping would mean even more time still stuck being powerless, and that wasn’t something Viktor could afford, even if the momentary comfort of having Jayce to himself for once was rather nice.
From across the room, Jayce huffed as he brushed his hair back into something more neat, more fitting of his position, and in the mirror Viktor could see his lips quirking up into a half-smile, “You really should be sleeping more though, V.”
“Once I’m the right size again we can have that conversation,” Viktor laughed softly, “Hm?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Jayce agreed, still visibly exasperated as he got ready, pulling on his large white jacket, the House Talis emblems on the arms shining under the soft morning light like liquid gold.
“I won’t be long,” Jayce said as he walked over to his bed, his shadow falling over Viktor.
At the mention of the time spent away, at the reminder of all the times before Jayce had chosen the council over him, Viktor felt a familiar fire burn in his chest. For a moment, the ever-closing fissure between them seemed to crack wide open again. If the meetings truly weren’t long, why hadn’t Jayce come to see him more?
“We both know that’s not true,” he frowned.
It was quiet for a moment, but a pained sigh and a quiet apology from above him followed by the soft press of a thumb against his back was all he got in response. Viktor wasn’t sure what he expected. He wanted Jayce to fight, to yell, to tell him the council was more important than him anyway- anything to make the anger that had built up inside him for months feel valid... But he also wanted something else. He wanted Jayce to touch him again, to hold him in his hands, to not leave again once this whole debacle was over, to choose him not because he had to but because he wanted to.
Yet Jayce gave him nothing but a brief warm touch. The feeling lingered in his skin long after Jayce had walked off, and Viktor swore he could feel the vibration of every step of his boots across the wood floors even from so high up.
They had argued about this, for hours almost. Jayce had to go back to his council duties, and while Viktor was keen on continuing their work while Jayce was gone, Jayce had had other ideas.
“Come with me?” he remembered Jayce asking, eyes wide and hopeful, with the same passion that had won them over so many sponsors. He had asked as if it was ever something Viktor could agree to.
Viktor had tried to end the conversation kindly, telling him he doubted the council wanted him to hear what they were saying, but Jayce persisted, as he always did. And while Jayce had been helpful throughout Viktor’s struggle, the independent nature ingrained deep into his bones from years of being looked down on caused him to snap. He hated the thought of being carted around as if he couldn’t take care of himself.
Perhaps he was being unfair to Jayce, but truly he didn’t know what the man was so worried would happen in the few hours Viktor was alone.
Viktor raised a brow as Jayce took one last look at him, eyes unfairly sad, as he left, the door locking behind him. The moment the sound of Jayce’s footsteps faded away, Viktor sunk back into the plush satin of Jayce’s pillow. He groaned, rubbing his hand over his eyes, trying to combat his body’s desire to curl up in Jayce’s bed and never leave. He had work to do still, and thankfully Jayce had left the notebook out and open on the bed so Viktor could review their calculations.
However, even though Jayce insisted he worked like a machine, Viktor was just a man; a man who couldn’t help but pretend for just a few more seconds that he was laying in Jayce Talis’ bed for different reasons.
After a few minutes, Viktor begrudgingly pushed himself up, the plush feathery mass of the pillow sinking down under his weight. It was too difficult to actually stand on it, so instead he opted for sliding down onto the bed. Jayce had moved the blankets to the bottom already, so Viktor wouldn’t have to navigate them, making the trek to the notebook much easier.
He had rolled his eyes when Jayce had sheepishly adjusted everything in the morning to be easier for him, but he was thankful now that he hadn’t told Jayce to stop… even if the acts of undue kindness made Viktor’s stomach flutter and cheeks grow warm.
It took a bit of effort but finally Viktor managed to pull himself up onto the notebook’s open pages. It was hard to read the words from that angle, and absentmindedly he found himself wishing Jayce was there to hold him up. The man’s fingers were always gentle with him, and as much as he had initially hated being manhandled, the longer he was stuck small the more he found that he didn’t really mind…as long as it was Jayce.
Viktor wasn’t sure how much time had passed with him looking over the same equations until his mind spun. He had tried to flip the page at one point but ended up falling over and giving up. Mostly, he spent the time thinking- about his predicament, about Hextech, about Jayce.
He barely noticed when a soft click came from the door’s lock. Careful yet quick footsteps came from behind him, and he didn’t have to turn to know who it was. The dip of the bed beside him as Jayce sat down, back straight against the backboard, almost sent him toppling off of the book. Before he could fall a hand reached out to steady him- giant fingers there for him to grab onto.
“How was it?” Viktor asked, cautious as he raised a brow at his partner.
Jayce groaned, bringing the hand that Viktor wasn’t using for stabilization up to his face and wiping his eyes, “Bad. Long. I don’t know.”
Viktor’s lips shaped into a small concerned pout as he watched Jayce, studying him like he was an equation to be solved. He hadn’t seen him so stressed in a long time, although he supposed the two of them hadn’t spent much time together in a long time either.
“Sorry,” Jayce sighed after a few moments of uncomfortable silence, “It was just pointless. They don’t want to listen to me, and all I could think about was coming back.”
At that Viktor’s face flushed undeniably red. He coughed awkwardly, and leaned a little more of his weight into Jayce’s steady fingers, needing the support but hoping the other wouldn’t notice.
“I eh…I’m sorry to hear that,” Viktor choked out, exceedingly grateful that Jayce still had his hand pressed to his eyes.
“It’s okay,” Jayce said, his voice tight, “I signed up for it didn’t I?”
And truly how could Viktor argue that when he’d said the same thing countless times before when Jayce had complained about his extra duties. When he would come to the lab after days of absence only to tell Viktor about whatever new disagreeable policy the council was pushing. He did sign up for it, and in the process made Viktor a side character in their own dream’s story.
“You can say you were right, you know?” The heavy blanket of silence in the room shattered.
Viktor’s brows drew tight, his lungs still as if any sound was too much, “What?”
“You were right- about the council,” Jayce continued, still not looking down at his partner, his eyes wide as he looked up at the ceiling, “About everything really.”
“I…I don’t know what you mean,” Viktor grimaced.
“I’m just a scientist, Vik,” Jayce said, voice monotone and resigned, “I shouldn’t be there.”
“The people look up to you, you’re a symbol, Jayce,” Viktor retorted. How funny, he thought. Only weeks ago he had been dying to hear those words from Jayce.
“I didn’t ask to be.”
The expression on Jayce’s face cut right through Viktor like a blade, twisting deep in his chest. He didn’t think he’d ever heard Jayce sound so defeated. If he had been feeling like this all along, why hadn’t he stopped? ‘Why hadn’t he come back?’ the poisonous nagging voice in Viktor’s head growled.
Viktor ignored it for the moment, instead, pulling himself up as best as he could so he could lean his weight against Jayce’s hand, more for comfort than anything else. “What brought this up?”
“Hextech is both of ours. But while I’m out there you’re stuck here until we can fix you,” Jayce’s eyes fell on Viktor, and gently, he wrapped his hand around him, picking him up to bring him closer, his hand resting palm-open on his lap with Viktor carefully cupped between his fingers like he was something precious. “It’s not fair, and it’s not what I should be doing.”
“Well…we’ll fix this soon,” Viktor offered him a small sad smile, barely a quirk of lips, “Then you can go back to the council guilt-free, hm?”
Apparently, it was the wrong response, given how Jayce’s face scrunched up like he’d been hit, “I do miss you, you know. I have missed you.”
“Jayce,” Viktor warned, his expression guarded.
“It’s true Viktor. I really have,” Jayce continued, words leaving his mouth quickly like he was afraid if he didn’t get them all out they would escape him somehow, “I know I’ve done a bad job of showing it, but… this has been nice at least. And I don’t want to leave you to deal with this alone.”
Viktor sighed, uselessly rubbing his hand against Jayce’s shaking fingers, “You haven’t, Jayce.”
“But haven’t I?” Jayce scoffed, his tone venomous- aimed at himself but still burning Viktor in the process, “Not just with this, but with everything?”
“I…” Viktor’s head was spinning to come up with the proper response.
Jayce’s head fell back against the headboard, but even so far away Viktor could hear the shaky breath he exhaled, “I’m really sorry, Viktor.”
And that… that was not something Viktor was ready to hear. He’d dreamed of this moment, of an apology, of Jayce coming back to him and begging at his knees for forgiveness- of going back to the way things were years ago, when they could finish each other’s thoughts without a word and work in tandem like they were both gears of the same machine. But he was finding that in reality it was much less satisfying. Especially if it meant the face of the man he adored would look so pained.
“I…I forgive you, Jayce,” and to Viktor’s surprise, his voice was steady. He never expected himself to forgive so easily, but he found it simple in the moment. What other choice did he have when he had been wanting Jayce back by his side more than anything, missing the warmth and comfortable partnership that came with it.
At that, Jayce looked at him like he was about to cry, his eyes squeezed shut, and Viktor’s face fell in sympathy as the fingers around him shook gently. The tremors ran through Viktor’s body as he tried to soothe his partner in any way he could, rubbing his hand up and down his shaking fingers, catching on every callous.
“I think you should rest, Jayce,” Viktor said gently, trying to mask his own turbulent emotions, with a softness he didn’t know he contained, “We can go to the lab tomorrow. You’re in no state to work right now.”
“No, no,” Jayce scoffed, more so at himself than anything else. “We can go. I won’t make you wait. I’ve done that enough.”
“What’s one more day?” Viktor found himself asking, surprising even himself at the honesty in the statement, “You deserve the rest. And the work will still be here.”
Jayce looked down at Viktor, and the softness on his face was almost unbearable. With a weak wet laugh he smiled, not the bright ones given to the press or possible investors, but a real one reserved for late nights at the lab when they were exhausted but so close to a discovery. “Okay, V. Yeah I…I can make lunch soon. We can still go over the notes here- talk about what you looked at-”
“Jayce,” Viktor sighed, amused at Jayce’s surprise at being cut off. He was sure the fondness in his tone wasn’t lost on Jayce, “You’re starting to sound like me. When I said rest I did mean it. You’re near tears, why don’t you just eh…take a nap?”
Jayce frowned, his nostrils flaring as he breathed out slowly, like he was trying to release the emotions so clearly welling up behind his eyes. When he spoke he sounded so desperate, so defeated, “I want to help you, Viktor.”
“And you will,” Viktor reassured, “I’ve never known you to back down from a challenge. It’s okay if it doesn't happen today.”
His words finally seemed to get through to Jayce who visibly relaxed, his body practically melting into the bed as he allowed himself to lie down fully. With a look of determination Viktor stepped off of Jayce’s hand, stumbling a bit before he could steady himself on the man’s chest. Behind him, Jayce’s hand tensed, like he was waiting to catch him if he fell, and in a way Viktor thought that that explained this whole situation quite well. Jayce was always there to catch his mistakes, and he had missed the ease at which he offered his assistance- never pitying and always kind.
“You know, it’s almost like we’ve switched places,” Jayce laughed softly, his lips tilted into a smile, “Usually I’m the one convincing you you don’t have to work.”
“Well, perhaps all this time with you is starting to affect me. Just another reason to get this solved, hm?” Viktor retorted slyly, tipping his head to Jayce and earning him another deep laugh that shook under Viktor’s feet. The possessive jealous part of Viktor warmed at Jayce’s reaction- a real laugh, something he prided himself in pulling out of his partner.
“Yeah, yeah,” Jayce smiled, his face still tired, “You should sleep too though. Maybe later if I feel better we can still go over to the lab?”
“If you wish,” Viktor hummed as he stretched his arms up above him. He didn’t miss how Jayce’s eyes carefully followed his movements.
Viktor tilted his head to the side table, expecting to be placed down on his makeshift bed which consisted simply of one of Jayce’s shirts, neatly folded up into a square, but Jayce made no effort to move. Under his gaze, Viktor felt even smaller than usual- like a specimen to be studied rather than a man.
“I…” Jayce started, looking away nervously, “Is this okay?”
Before Viktor could ask what he meant, Jayce’s hand, which had been resting behind him, moved to hover right above Viktor. Viktor watched, confused for a moment, before it slowly pressed down into him, forcing him to lie down and keeping him still against Jayce’s clothed chest. He would never admit it, but the silky fabric of Jayce’s jacket felt nice against his skin. His first reaction was to push Jayce away, to reject the attempt at touch that he didn’t know how to handle. But Jayce was watching him so nervously that he couldn’t bring himself to deny Jayce the comfort, even though he could feel the warmth blossoming in his cheeks.
“Yes, this is eh..this is fine Jayce,” Viktor stumbled over his words, the almost unbearable warmth from the man’s massive hand making it hard to think about anything but every point where they touched.
Jayce’s eyes widened a bit, his hand curling around Viktor just a bit to secure him, and there was something on his face Viktor couldn’t quite put a name to. The closest expression he could think of is when he had first shown Jayce a completed Hexgem, eyes soft and almost awe-struck. His gaze caused Viktor’s skin to prickle with embarrassment.
Some part of Viktor argued that he should stop this, that he should tell Jayce to put him on the side table, so he wouldn’t be able to keep pretending that somehow Jayce held affections similar to his own. But again, he was weak. And if Jayce was offering he would be remiss to deny it.
“It’s nice- lying like this with you,” Jayce mumbled, his voice rumbling throughout Viktor’s body, and even through his embarrassment Viktor couldn’t help but agree with a slow nod.
It didn’t take long for Viktor to fall asleep like that, completely covered by Jayce’s warm hand as he leaned his body into his chest. The rhythmic up-and-down pattern of his breaths and the thumping of his heart against his entire body was like a lullaby. He was sure Jayce was still awake as he felt his thoughts grow hazy, given that every few moments Jayce’s thumb gently rubbed against his back.
Later, he was sure he’d be embarrassed for this- for allowing himself to give in to his own wants, but for the moment, he let himself accept the warmth, falling asleep in the safety of Jayce’s presence all around him.

We need to talk about AI
Okay, several people asked me to post about this, so I guess I am going to post about this. Or to say it differently: Hey, for once I am posting about the stuff I am actually doing for university. Woohoo!
Because here is the issue. We are kinda suffering a death of nuance right now, when it comes to the topic of AI.
I understand why this happening (basically everyone wanting to market anything is calling it AI even though it is often a thousand different things) but it is a problem.
So, let's talk about "AI", that isn't actually intelligent, what the term means right now, what it is, what it isn't, and why it is not always bad. I am trying to be short, alright?
Tumblr media
So, right now when anyone says they are using AI they mean, that they are using a program that functions based on what computer nerds call "a neural network" through a process called "deep learning" or "machine learning" (yes, those terms mean slightly different things, but frankly, you really do not need to know the details).
Now, the theory for this has been around since the 1940s! The idea had always been to create calculation nodes that mirror the way neurons in the human brain work. That looks kinda like this:
Tumblr media
Basically, there are input nodes, in which you put some data, those do some transformations that kinda depend on the kind of thing you want to train it for and in the end a number comes out, that the program than "remembers". I could explain the details, but your eyes would glaze over the same way everyone's eyes glaze over in this class I have on this on every Friday afternoon.
All you need to know: You put in some sort of data (that can be text, math, pictures, audio, whatever), the computer does magic math, and then it gets a number that has a meaning to it.
And we actually have been using this sinde the 80s in some way. If any Digimon fans are here: there is a reason the digital world in Digimon Tamers was created in Stanford in the 80s. This was studied there.
But if it was around so long, why am I hearing so much about it now?
This is a good question hypothetical reader. The very short answer is: some super-nerds found a way to make this work way, way better in 2012, and from that work (which was then called Deep Learning in Artifical Neural Networks, short ANN) we got basically everything that TechBros will not shut up about for the last like ten years. Including "AI".
Now, most things you think about when you hear "AI" is some form of generative AI. Usually it will use some form of a LLM, a Large Language Model to process text, and a method called Stable Diffusion to create visuals. (Tbh, I have no clue what method audio generation uses, as the only audio AI I have so far looked into was based on wolf howls.)
LLMs were like this big, big break through, because they actually appear to comprehend natural language. They don't, of coruse, as to them words and phrases are just stastical variables. Scientists call them also "stochastic parrots". But of course our dumb human brains love to anthropogice shit. So they go: "It makes human words. It gotta be human!"
It is a whole thing.
It does not understand or grasp language. But the mathematics behind it will basically create a statistical analysis of all the words and then create a likely answer.
Tumblr media
What you have to understand however is, that LLMs and Stable Diffusion are just a a tiny, minority type of use cases for ANNs. Because research right now is starting to use ANNs for EVERYTHING. Some also partially using Stable Diffusion and LLMs, but not to take away people'S jobs.
Which is probably the place where I will share what I have been doing recently with AI.
The stuff I am doing with Neural Networks
The neat thing: if a Neural Network is Open Source, it is surprisingly easy to work with it. Last year when I started with this I was so intimidated, but frankly, I will confidently say now: As someone who has been working with computers for like more than 10 years, this is easier programming than most shit I did to organize data bases. So, during this last year I did three things with AI. One for a university research project, one for my work, and one because I find it interesting.
The university research project trained an AI to watch video live streams of our biology department's fish tanks, analyse the behavior of the fish and notify someone if a fish showed signs of being sick. We used an AI named "YOLO" for this, that is very good at analyzing pictures, though the base framework did not know anything about stuff that lived not on land. So we needed to teach it what a fish was, how to analyze videos (as the base framework only can look at single pictures) and then we needed to teach it how fish were supposed to behave. We still managed to get that whole thing working in about 5 months. So... Yeah. But nobody can watch hundreds of fish all the time, so without this, those fish will just die if something is wrong.
The second is for my work. For this I used a really old Neural Network Framework called tesseract. This was developed by Google ages ago. And I mean ages. This is one of those neural network based on 1980s research, simply doing OCR. OCR being "optical character recognition". Aka: if you give it a picture of writing, it can read that writing. My work has the issue, that we have tons and tons of old paper work that has been scanned and needs to be digitized into a database. But everyone who was hired to do this manually found this mindnumbing. Just imagine doing this all day: take a contract, look up certain data, fill it into a table, put the contract away, take the next contract and do the same. Thousands of contracts, 8 hours a day. Nobody wants to do that. Our company has been using another OCR software for this. But that one was super expensive. So I was asked if I could built something to do that. So I did. And this was so ridiculously easy, it took me three weeks. And it actually has a higher successrate than the expensive software before.
Lastly there is the one I am doing right now, and this one is a bit more complex. See: we have tons and tons of historical shit, that never has been translated. Be it papyri, stone tablets, letters, manuscripts, whatever. And right now I used tesseract which by now is open source to develop it further to allow it to read handwritten stuff and completely different letters than what it knows so far. I plan to hook it up, once it can reliably do the OCR, to a LLM to then translate those texts. Because here is the thing: these things have not been translated because there is just not enough people speaking those old languages. Which leads to people going like: "GASP! We found this super important document that actually shows things from the anceint world we wanted to know forever, and it was lying in our collection collecting dust for 90 years!" I am not the only person who has this idea, and yeah, I just hope maybe we can in the next few years get something going to help historians and archeologists to do their work.
Tumblr media
Make no mistake: ANNs are saving lives right now
Here is the thing: ANNs are Deep Learning are saving lives right now. I really cannot stress enough how quickly this technology has become incredibly important in fields like biology and medicine to analyze data and predict outcomes in a way that a human just never would be capable of.
I saw a post yesterday saying "AI" can never be a part of Solarpunk. I heavily will disagree on that. Solarpunk for example would need the help of AI for a lot of stuff, as it can help us deal with ecological things, might be able to predict weather in ways we are not capable of, will help with medicine, with plants and so many other things.
ANNs are a good thing in general. And yes, they might also be used for some just fun things in general.
And for things that we may not need to know, but that would be fun to know. Like, I mentioned above: the only audio research I read through was based on wolf howls. Basically there is a group of researchers trying to understand wolves and they are using AI to analyze the howling and grunting and find patterns in there which humans are not capable of due ot human bias. So maybe AI will hlep us understand some animals at some point.
Heck, we saw so far, that some LLMs have been capable of on their on extrapolating from being taught one version of a language to just automatically understand another version of it. Like going from modern English to old English and such. Which is why some researchers wonder, if it might actually be able to understand languages that were never deciphered.
All of that is interesting and fascinating.
Again, the generative stuff is a very, very minute part of what AI is being used for.
Tumblr media
Yeah, but WHAT ABOUT the generative stuff?
So, let's talk about the generative stuff. Because I kinda hate it, but I also understand that there is a big issue.
If you know me, you know how much I freaking love the creative industry. If I had more money, I would just throw it all at all those amazing creative people online. I mean, fuck! I adore y'all!
And I do think that basically art fully created by AI is lacking the human "heart" - or to phrase it more artistically: it is lacking the chemical inbalances that make a human human lol. Same goes for writing. After all, an AI is actually incapable of actually creating a complex plot and all of that. And even if we managed to train it to do it, I don't think it should.
AI saving lives = good.
AI doing the shit humans actually evolved to do = bad.
And I also think that people who just do the "AI Art/Writing" shit are lazy and need to just put in work to learn the skill. Meh.
However...
I do think that these forms of AI can have a place in the creative process. There are people creating works of art that use some assets created with genAI but still putting in hours and hours of work on their own. And given that collages are legal to create - I do not see how this is meaningfully different. If you can take someone else's artwork as part of a collage legally, you can also take some art created by AI trained on someone else's art legally for the collage.
And then there is also the thing... Look, right now there is a lot of crunch in a lot of creative industries, and a lot of the work is not the fun creative kind, but the annoying creative kind that nobody actually enjoys and still eats hours and hours before deadlines. Swen the Man (the Larian boss) spoke about that recently: how mocapping often created some artifacts where the computer stuff used to record it (which already is done partially by an algorithm) gets janky. So far this was cleaned up by humans, and it is shitty brain numbing work most people hate. You can train AI to do this.
And I am going to assume that in normal 2D animation there is also more than enough clean up steps and such that nobody actually likes to do and that can just help to prevent crunch. Same goes for like those overworked souls doing movie VFX, who have worked 80 hour weeks for the last 5 years. In movie VFX we just do not have enough workers. This is a fact. So, yeah, if we can help those people out: great.
If this is all directed by a human vision and just helping out to make certain processes easier? It is fine.
However, something that is just 100% AI? That is dumb and sucks. And it sucks even more that people's fanart, fanfics, and also commercial work online got stolen for it.
And yet... Yeah, I am sorry, I am afraid I have to join the camp of: "I am afraid criminalizing taking the training data is a really bad idea." Because yeah... It is fucking shitty how Facebook, Microsoft, Google, OpenAI and whatever are using this stolen data to create programs to make themselves richer and what not, while not even making their models open source. BUT... If we outlawed it, the only people being capable of even creating such algorithms that absolutely can help in some processes would be big media corporations that already own a ton of data for training (so basically Disney, Warner and Universal) who would then get a monopoly. And that would actually be a bad thing. So, like... both variations suck. There is no good solution, I am afraid.
And mind you, Disney, Warner, and Universal would still not pay their artists for it. lol
However, that does not mean, you should not bully the companies who are using this stolen data right now without making their models open source! And also please, please bully Hasbro and Riot and whoever for using AI Art in their merchandise. Bully them hard. They have a lot of money and they deserve to be bullied!
Tumblr media
But yeah. Generally speaking: Please, please, as I will always say... inform yourself on these topics. Do not hate on stuff without understanding what it actually is. Most topics in life are nuanced. Not all. But many.

I don't know about you, but I'm a bit mixed about Calypso in EPC. I mean, her songs are good, her singer's quite talented, so I don't have a problem... musically, at least.
But, story-wise, Calypso seems a bit too victim-like in my taste. "I'm not sorry for loving you" seems like it wants to make us sympathize with her and to consider her as Odysseus' friend.
While making her nuanced is interesting, the Epic fandom could be inclined to forget what she did to him in the Odyssey. And how miserable he was alongside her.
On the plus side, "Love in paradise" affirms she's the powerful one and Odysseus later confirms he doesn't love her romantically (plus Athena's 'he never cheated on his wife' line in "God games")
So it won't be detrimental for OdyPen 🥰.
What do you think ?
Oh, I'm definitely mixed about Calypso in Epic. As just like you said:
"While making her nuanced is interesting, the Epic fandom could be inclined to forget what she did to him in the Odyssey. And how miserable he was alongside her."
The Epic Fandom already DOES forget what happens in the Odyssey or think that they are the same thing. :/ I see stuff talking about Scylla in how Odysseus lights the torches and yet, it's tagged as "Odyssey". I love "light up six torches" as it's very dark but also very painful for Epic!Odysseus and that's really fun!
But I get saddened when people think that happened in the Odyssey ;~; as it's one of my favorite parts where Odysseus, knowing that Circe warned him, still goes to put on his armor to try and fight Scylla himself. He tried so fucking hard to save them. And they all grieved later on together. Eurylochus does mutiny in both but in the Odyssey, it isn't because of Scylla or anything. They were all just...Hungry ;~;
That's not even talking about how the Epic Fandom was when we only got the snippet of "There are other ways" ;~;
I still remember when there were jokes about how Odysseus is just like Hamilton and "Couldn't say No to this." Also Circe never did that to "protect her nymphs" in the Odyssey. She did it for funsies as she's a goddess and can do what she wants. That doesn't mean he was happy though.
I DO trust Jay to do well with Calypso's island. While I really am nervous about "I'm not Sorry for Loving you." like very nervous. I think HE'LL also make it clear that Odysseus isn't well or happy. As he has that cut song with the lyrics of:
"Is this some kind of trick? Pretending I can go Because if so, you're sick My heart's already broken"
So even though he cut that song because the beat and the music did NOT fit the situation, I'm very sure he'll have another like it showing Odysseus' despair and suffering.
I just... sighs I'm in a funky situation where I love Epic. I love it a lot. I think it's a genuinely good and fun retelling. I think while some spots are inaccurate, some are still really neat. I just get sad about this almost...disdain towards the actual Odyssey?
"Oh, Odysseus doesn't mention Penelope and Telemachus as much as he does in Epic-" Yes, he does. It's in so many of the metaphors and there's so many moments where he's clearly thinking about them. I love singing Penelope's name longingly too but an ancient epic poem is gonna be a lil different xD
"Oh Polites isn't really in it-" ...And?? That's okay. You enjoy Jay's character he created who really isn't in the Odyssey as much.
"Odysseus is such a manwhore in the Odyssey-" I am beating you over the head with a fucking rock.
Jay is clearly so fucking passionate and cares about this story so so much (he had a MENELAUS SONG (I grieve it's loss every day ;~; THEY CAN BOTH SIMP FOR THEIR HOT AF WIVES)) He had other characters planned!
But yeah ;~; I get so fucking sad every time someone talks about Epic being better than the Odyssey. Like even JAY wanted to clear that up that "hey, the Odyssey is really cool! I mean I wrote this because I love it so much." and yet... people don't wanna know or even TRY to understand what happens in the actual Epics.
I have hope. I just hope the FANDOM follows through.

Have we gotten a houndoom line review yet?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how GameFreak's response to Pokemon's Satanic Panic problem was to make a hellhound the next Gen. And not just a hellhound, but a really good hellhound! I like that they went a more subtle route with Houndour than the Cerberus option by basically taking a Doberman and adding hellish motifs to it—black with fire-orange accents and white bones all over its body. Also nice are the shackles, which are likely a nod to how Cerberus is sometimes said to be chained.
Tumblr media
Houndoom is even better, and does everything an evo needs to by expanding greatly on the original. Now a full-grown Doberman instead of a puppy, Houndoom has gained a pair of ribcage horns on its head, moved the skull to its chest, added an extra layer of shackles, and added a classic pointed devil tail. These all build upon the base design and themes wonderfully, and both stages are very distinct.
Tumblr media
My only (very minor) nitpicks with Houndoom are that the skull on its chest could've been more skull-shaped as it looks more like an alien head, and the head is a weird shape. I hear a lot of complaints that it has no ears, but it has no ears because it has horns and there was no room for both on the original teeny tiny sprite. However, the Diglett-shaped head isn't quite anatomically accurate, making it look a little strange once you separate the horns from it.
(Also, side note: judging by the sprite above the chest skull and ribs were supposed to be a collar, which is a really neat idea that I kind of wish they kept. No big deal either way though, it still looks good regardless.)
Tumblr media
I hear a lot of people say they wish [X] mega was an evolution, and like 90% of the time I disagree with them. Megas are generally handled differently than actual evos—evos often make drastic changes to the body shape and progress the Pokemon's theme in a notable way, while megas typically stick close to the original design and just add Stuff(TM). There is some overlap, of course, but generally speaking a good mega won't necessarily work as an evo and vice versa.
All of that is to say that mega Houndoom is one of the only megas where it could (and should) have been an evo. Every theme is expanded upon, the body shape has advanced pretty drastically, and there are about as many changes between it and Houndoom as there are between Houndoom and Houndour. It doesn't technically matter one way or the other, but megas are a rarely-appearing gimmick whereas evos are permanent, and this is a great design that should be used more often.
Tumblr media
Anyway, this design is pretty perfect. It has a more muscular body than Houndoom with greatly improved head anatomy and longer legs (especially evident when you see all three lined up next to each other). The bone elements go from the small skull on Houndoom's chest to a giant wrap-around skull with tusks, as well as bigger horns and more ribcage bones. The shackles on its legs have also been broken, which is a great detail, and it's added a pitchfork motif in both the tail shape and the face markings.
My only minor nitpicks with this design are that the red claws feel a little distracting; keeping them orange might've balanced the colors better. Also, the orange on the chest should've gone under the bottom of the skull, as it creates a bit of a tension point as-is. Otherwise, this is pretty perfect all around.
Tumblr media
Overall, a great line. There's a clear theme, each stage progresses in a logical and obvious way, and the designs are well-balanced. 10/10 would go to Hell again

Whats updated codex Lion doing and how is he handling that hi brothers are back
lion is rockin the dad bod if i’m bein honest
Tumblr media
ah yes. lets talk about the championship warcrimes mcgee everyone forgets to rank with the other championship warcrime mcgees.
Lion is less concerned with his returned brothers than he is with the emperor and gman. Lion’s whole deal is loyalty, particularly to those above you (we’re still working on being loyal to those who rely on you but we’re getting there). To him, emps accepting magnus back into the palace isnt so different from him collecting the Risen, but emps’ refusal to take the reigns from guilliman despite his brother’s measured response to stuff like the ecclesiarchy is baffling to him. He’s mellowed out a Lot since imperium secundus, but his most basic thought process does not understand why they aren’t all just wiping planetary governments and starting from scratch now that dad’s back. Why go through the trouble of installing the triarchy when you leave all the rest of the stupid 40k imperial bureaucracy anyway? Why is dad allowing gman’s 20 stupid space books of space rules when the first one sucked anyway?? Why isn’t dad in charge???
I say most basic thought because, again, he’s had some time, he’s done some Introspection, he has admitted to himself banishing people for mistakes is not always the neat and tidy solution it’s made out to be in his head, and that his paranoia is a problem, it’s just hard for him to change that pattern of thinking. also he’s not entirely wrong i mean. gman is slow going because he’s got approximately the entire universe on his plate but like. some of this stuff feels like something that should have a ten-step removal plan. right??? point is it’s complicated, and he doesn’t have a clean solution and is actively restraining himself from enacting his own version of a ‘clean solution’ which he’s at least learned is maybe a bad idea without running it by dad first.
In the meantime dad said to continue gathering the Risen, so that’s fine he can put his energy into that. Dad also did not say shit about the risen being not codex compliant so take that gman. so lion currently is largely occupied with trying to get his legion in order, which is a bit like herding cats pun absolutely intended. lion is constantly fighting new fissures between what he and the risen envision and what the newer astartes of his geneline are used to expecting, issues that run hot enough that there are some days where it feels like they’re creating fallen instead of saving them. it’s a constant uphill battle even with the newfound self awareness. running back and forth to gather bits of his old legion means he’s mostly out of the way of his brothers, and that’s just fine as far as he’s concerned.
That said, him and his arc are more central to Updated Codex than one might expect. For one, lion is the one who tattles on gman to emps. He takes one look at juno and goes
Tumblr media
'i'm telling dad!!' and runs off to do just that, forcing gman to introduce juno to the wider imperium. she’s about 4 at the time.
An older Juno, as stated in the snippet below, has been boots-on-the-ground for fallen retrieval missions; in fact they were probably some of her first joint campaigns outside of ultramar/ultra successors. Lion has seen her work as and with astartes, and generally is alright treating her the way he does his formerly wayward sons.
that doesn’t mean he trusts her. The paranoia didn’t magically disappear. when she gets her own little specialist squad consisting of some weird serf, the child of a traitor, and a xeno spawn, He manages to get a dark angel attached to their retinue, and instructs him to report on their actions regularly.
Juno isn’t impressed.
Tumblr media
Melwas is a brand new Dark Angel looking to prove himself in a time when living legends, tarnished though they may be, walk amongst them and his primarch is personally watching every move he makes. Mel has a massive guilt complex, for both genuinely enjoying the oddball squad’s company (a betrayal of his mission) and for spying on them (a betrayal of his friends). It’s a lot of pressure, which isn’t helped when, upon reuniting with a former neophyte friend of his, he is promptly subjected to a barriss offee style turncoat plot where his friend tries to kill him (and the squad) in an effort to make a point about how the DAs are losing their way of life, yadda yadda, angst, yadda yadda etc. yaaaaay!!!
He gets a weird dog and some hugs from his friends and maybe his dad figures out how to tell him in words he was handpicked for the oddball squad because lion is actually quite impressed with his level head. maybe lion will go the extra mile and figure things out with luthor and mel can make out i mean up with that friend who tried to kill him or something. who knows.
Tumblr media
but that’s what uncle lion is up to!

Greetings!
I wanted to ask, how do you go about creating character reference sheets?
I have closely studied your oc refs, and observed the timelapse process of one that you have on YouTube, but still can’t seem to grasp how you are able to make your ocs so… natural when in a ref sheet…? (I’m not exactly sure how to explain it, but they just end up looking really neat).
I struggle when making ref sheets. my ocs usually come out wonky in them, but they come out perfectly in anything else.
Then I get unmotivated since my poor blorbos come out weird, and then I leave the piece unfinished.
Oh, and a little extra bit about your ref sheets; I really like your simple, uncluttered backgrounds. And the organization of the text and drawings is very appealing!
Ohhh, that is indeed a question
First of all, I'm flattered, thankyou ;;
Second, I've actually had a love-hate relationship with refs for the longest time, and I still somewhat do. I love doing them because they're fun and I also really enjoy designing layouts, but truth be told, I've had very similar struggles, actually. I can draw my blorbos fine for everything else, but for some reason on reference sheets my characters just never end up looking right!!
Aaaand I think it's honestly as simple as the fact that they are reference sheets. They are the reference of the character, it's meant to be the most accurate, the most them, it needs to be the best representation, so you're probably going to view the references with a way more critical eye than your other art, and possibly go into it being overly perfectionist - and I think that is a big part of the problem. I dunno about you, but for me, as a person who likes to focus on character consistency in art as well, this stuff would drive me up a wall.
You have no idea how many unfinished references I've made over the years (ノへ ̄、)
So part of it is honestly, I think, about just letting it go and viewing it as any other art piece. I still struggle with this at times, like my most recent reference of Zac, there are things I think that 'could be better' or that it isn't exactly 'him' but I just need to recognize that whatever, I'm overthinking it, and I can just appreciate what I've made again.
I dunno, maybe I've got this all wrong and this isn't your problem at all, but since I went through a similar struggle that you describe, I thought maybe that might be helpful to you as well.
As for my process however,
I've found that drawing the main image for the reference in a character line up with the correct height helps A LOT because it puts the character in context. It just helps with proportion and being able to see how they look next to other characters.
I use some of those height comparison sites to start and then just screenshot the chart, stick it in CSP and viola. (Mark and Aaron are just silhouettes here cause they're refs aren't public yet lol. Patreon first n' all.)
Tumblr media
So yeah, I draw em here and then make a copy of that file to then make the ref.
Besides that though, and just the obvious 'practice makes perfect' thing, I can't think of much else to add.
Just, based on how you described what you're struggling with, especially that in 'every other art piece it turns out fine', it sounds a hell of a lot like a mindset thing. It definitely was for me ^^;
Anywho, I hope this helps, and good luck ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Hiya! I've been really enjoying your posts for the last year. I would spend my mornings or afternoons' reading over so much of what you've written, though I don't like stuff cause I was worried it would be too spammy. I love sm the different perspectives on Prisoners I've seen through your work, love how you look at Yuno's and Fuuta's crimes, your stuff with Kazui and how you've approached (my fav) Mahiru's crime. Also more general, dissociation gang, looking at the split of prisoners (oh no accident vs active killing) I'm baffled at how little notes you have on some of your posts when I've found them very insightful. Also love how you colour-code text, very neat and makes long posts easier to read! Before encountering your blog I just kind of looked at youtube comments for help understanding the prisoners' crimes, but your analyses are so much more concise and interesting.
apologies if this is weird, thank you sm for all you do!
Firstly, I’d like to say thank you! It makes me happier than anyone could ever know to be told in such detail how much you’ve enjoyed my work and for how long. I especially appreciate the detail you’ve gone into. I love hearing the points that people like about my work and it’s kind of a walk down memory lane to read in a way.
That's why I want to take this time to- I also wanted to highlight some of the other people that have added so much of their own time and personal flair to the Milgram community on Tumblr!
7-4-N
Not a creature, not a specimen, not a being. Do not refer to this existence at all but if you really must Tsumi or 74 can work well enough. Just know your social constructs won’t stick. This being doesn’t adhere to such things. After all happy or sad why decide. One of many fans of Yuno Kashiki. This blogger puts on full display the many social boxes society creates and tries fit the prisoners into. Sometimes even the ones the prisoners try to fit themselves into as well.
Characterization analysis and art mix together to create a truly unique experience-
Theory on what Amane's cult is based on
I wrote something on the post itself but this was really good! I enjoyed reading it a lot for personal reasons. It presents the religions in a very nuanced and unbiased way without sugarcoating anything. Ultimately a very nice collaborative effort that gives a lot to chew on.
Yuno is a "side/supporting character" post
Tsumi is also in charge of their very own Milgram- Tsumigram! Remember what Jackalope said,
"Don't go messing up my (or other people's) Milgrams!"
Tumblr media
Tsumi sometimes translates analysis into other languages and has hosted some really fun fandom events. 74 has always tried to create an environment where everyone is able to feel comfortable and have fun together. In a way it’s no surprise Tsumigram is the way it is.
Its focus on communication and the connections between people showcases 74’s willingness to put forth the effort to understand others. Even when things aren't going smoothly. Even more so to the fear and vulnerability that can be created through knowing and being known by someone else. Along with the worry of what one knows about someone becoming obsolete due to that person changing and growing as all people do.
Tsumi understands the problems that can come about when communicating.
How one can try their best and still end up being scorned, ridiculed, misunderstood, or misinterpreted. Recognizing those sorts of things are just as much a part of life as anything else and can give one the freedom to try simply for the sake of trying. Not because it will led to a positive outcome. Sometimes we can't please everyone. People will butt heads.
That’s natural.
None of us can avoid doing things we can't take back, things others may never be able to forgive us for, or understand. Even so that doesn’t change what we as individuals are capable of. Tsumi showed that all it took for fun things to happen was taking that first step and asking if anyone would like to do something together.
Because if no one ever asks then no one can get an answer.
It’s difficult to put oneself out there in such a way to so many people. It could go wrong and when things go wrong as they so often are inclined to- One may feel like they should stop putting themselves out there all together.
That closing off is a good answer. Possibly the best answer one can see in that moment. I know I’ve felt that way. That I’ve backed down, secluded myself, and hid away my opinions while avoiding stressors. It's easy to say to others or even oneself get back on the horse and keep trying.
Yet the truth is time to on one's own is important and can be productive. It can give us the time we need to process the experiences we’ve had recently and collect our thoughts. Then when one is ready that person can come back far better than when they left. Even as true as that is, it’s still important to take caution and not worry about bringing the best of ourselves in everything we do.
Because this idea that we have to meet everyone at our very best can be isolating and tiresome. Sometimes even though it may be hard to believe just showing up is enough. Just a small greeting is enough. It's important to recognize that what we may do that we view as trivial could be everything to someone else.
Tsumi shows me through persistence and compassion that even the tiniest gestures can be cause for celebration.
That things don’t have be grand to matter. No one has to overheat to feel love or freeze to feel loneliness. That both those things make up warmth. That said warmth can be comforting and disgusting all at once. Through Tsumi's presence I’ve gotten to learn the value of multitudes again. Instead of just being interested in the same old thing.
Which I greatly appreciate and believe many others could too.
amugoffandoms
With a mug full of passion and the drive to see what they start through this fandom regular probably needs little introduction. Yet, for those who don’t know I’ll give it my best shot. Stating she’s the number one Yuno fan would be an understatement. I’d need a new title entirely to explain her earnest affection towards one of the most drastically overlooked and prone to oversimplification characters within this series.
Man, Mug and Tsumi both have it tough- Having a fave that’s critically underrated... That’s looked at as an easy open and shut case. Regardless, Mug through their art, writing, and ever-present enthusiasm manages to highlight the subtleties of Yuno’s characterization.

They’re even the host of her very own milgram Mugram. Admittedly all of the kids there are troublemakers. A rather eccentric bunch but none of them seem to have done much particularly bad. A lot of what they do seems to be related to their work or how they make a living in general (if they can’t call it work). Though those could just be the characters I decided to focus on. I do find that pattern interesting though. Fan Milgrams are really good at homing in on specific societal issues.
Their writing has a good grasp of imagery. Usually setting up scenes in a way that makes it easier for readers to visualize. When it comes to her art their expression work has great emotional depth conveying feelings in a direct manner.
coffee-without-anesthetics
No painkillers and all energy!
Itha has been around in the community for what feels like before I was here, but I’m actually its senior by a year. Maybe I’ve been here too long… Let’s not dwell on that! I don’t remember a time when it wasn’t here or exactly when it showed up. Giving it this very ageless entity feel that is honestly goals.
Sometimes I just want to phase into existence and out too!
Still just because not many were there to witness its first light doesn’t mean this star burns any less! Its a regular within the fandom that needs very little introduction at this point. If it isn’t talking about Lies of P it can be found just actually blogging generally- Seeing anything come across my dash with that familiar Es icon is a breath of fresh air for me. (Though its icon has changed now.)
Now hold on you didn’t think that was all-
It does translations and art! Translating fanfics from English to Polish or French with the creator’s permission. Well, if you ever feel like translating any of my Milgram ones you’ve got my permission for that. Though… that would quite an undertaking considering how much I write, hm.  Ah- This isn’t about that right now… Sorry.
Its also into Arcane, House MD, The Magnus Archives, Mathematics- and Linguistics & Music. Here’s hoping Milgram and it remain a match made in heaven regardless of how hellish thing get~
DoctorBunny
Ahnnnn- What’s up doc? Now don’t let the name fool you this dude is a Haruka fan- and that diagnosis is lifelong. He’s also not a doctor yet! Curses you to more college- I’m joking, I’m joking! This is another milgram fandom regular who’s dabbled in a little bit of everything.
Art, analysis, translations, documentation- You name it he’s probably done it!
And done it well at that,
DoctorBunny is inquisitive, considerate, and welcoming to his peers in any fandom and anyone within this fandom as well. Always looking for a way to not only enjoy himself but make sure those around him are enjoying their selves too.
Milgram Earphone Translation
Milgram Hallucination Booklet Translation PT1
Milgram x Karatez Interrogation Questions
He’s been a mod on Milgram servers, done real time quick translations of the material, and just generally been a joy to get to know through this series. While he has his biases- He’s not afraid to interrogate them and look at things from different angles.
His thirst for knowledge has created space around him for the opinions of others while still holding consideration towards his own thoughts. He knows that sometimes leaving space for the idea that one’s interpretation may be wrong is not only a reasonable thing to do but the first step to figuring out what may be right. He is one of the people I discuss my posts with in advance. As well as discuss how I engage with media in general with.
Pretty daily at this point, actually. I hope my stubborn nature isn’t getting grating.
He once explained to me that because my wording can come off so adamant and certain in my convictions it can feel a bit overwhelming. Some may think that’s a bad thing but to me I thought it was a really great observation. It made me recognize that I do get incredibly caught up in my beliefs and am prone to speaking as though what I believe is the one obvious truth of the matter.
I can come off as really confident in my convictions because when I see something one way I can become blinded to the other ways it can be. Sometimes I do believe in my reading comprehension too much and that can be limiting. It can be off-putting. So, I’m glad I found a friend who can recognize and not get annoyed by that habit of mine when it comes to discussing media.
Especially since I can be a fast-paced talker and texter when super invested in something.
So, Bunny’s more relaxed and down to earth pace along with straightforward nature of being able to just simply go that isn’t what I meant I meant x. Is incredibly grounding. He brings that measured analysis and grounding personality into the fandom spaces he occupies through he’s leveled responses to media and willingness to meet his peers where they’re at. Rarely engaging with the points of others in bad faith but not letting himself be barreled over either. He's willing to hold space for others but will never compromise on what he believes fully is right.
On top of that he knows how to ask for help and when to be skeptical of what’s being presented and how something is being presented. Ultimately having internet and media literacy that far surpasses my own at times. This makes him an amazing person to have in any fandom and as a friend in general. Sometimes I get up in arms about something I’ve seen online because yes I can be reactionary and at those times I’ve gone off complaining about it and Bunny has more often than not managed to show me a new perspective I’ve never considered before.
It’s important to have people like that who can level you out and understand where you’re coming from especially in fandom a space that thrives off of eliciting a reaction at times.
His art style is dreamy having a lovely display of colors and lighting.
Haruka in pyjamas
When it comes to art he’s very versatile with a good understanding of lining, form, and style. Allowing for an astounding deal of variety between his pieces. His appreciation for drawing as a creative form is fully displayed in every piece he’s made. Though I think the best part is regardless of the drawing there always seems to be a bit of fun put into it!
Good-beans/ Good-beansdraws
Now this is a fandom regular that should need no introductions. She’s the guard of milgramblrgram and done it well at that! Not one person has died or gotten irrecoverably injured and that’s all due to her caring, compassionate, but fair guidance.
Balancing Mahiru’s bleeding heart with Kotoko’s drive for fairness.
She’s created an environment for a good majority of milgramblr to hone their talents and indulge their interests amongst peers with the same passion as themselves. It should be no surprise that this user inspires me every day to turn my words into action.
So, when I say it’s up to us to create a community worth being in those words don’t just sit there empty and I instead do things that highlight the talents and intricacies of the people who make this fandom the place it is for at times the better and the worst.
Because that’s what Milgram is about.
Taking the good, the bad, and ourselves all into consideration and looking for the best path forward together. It’s about realizing that in this life we won’t only see things we agree with, the things we think may not always be right, there are biases in us all that need unpacking and questioning.
Good-beans gives creatives in this fandom a space where they can explore these things within themselves through their many talents.
In everthing she does- She highlights what it means to form community out of fandom in every fandom that’s lucky to have her while still making space for herself and her own feelings about the works she enjoys. Being sure to share her views on the characters through her own headcanons and giving feedback on the writing and headcanons of others.
On top of that she creates a good deal of fanworks. Art and writing. Good-beans art reminds me a lot of graphic novels and western comics. Examples off the top of my head would be Stephen McCranie’s Space Boy, Eric Anthony Glover’s & Arielle Jovellanos’ Black Star, and W.I.T.C.H.
Mahiru Butcher's Vanity
Futa Indulgent Top 3 Redraw
If art isn’t your thing which in this age I seriously doubt it- But you know what they say a picture's worth a thousand words. I personally think that’s undercutting the value of words though. Well, that’s when it’s taken literally it’s more of a figurative statement implying that what a picture does all by itself would take a thousand words to describe in every detail if not more. So, if a pictures worth a thousand words then a hundred thousand words equate to one picture- Again if we’re taking it in the literal sense.
What I’m saying is if you’re looking for imagery then she’s got the words for that too. Sometimes all an artists needs is for a writer to create just the right words to show them something they never could imagine otherwise!
Lights, Camera, Sing Your Sins (A Milgram actor au where the audience gets to see the innerworkings of Milgram!)
So Morning Rise to Light Us (How do you spend your mornings. The time of day where it feels like no one else around. The prelude to everything else you'll do that- We hardly ever think about it but having a morning routine in Milgram must be hard, right? Some people can't handle one roommate let alone nine. This fic goes over the prisoners morning routines.)
himawari-candyy
Let’s keep this simple the way it always should’ve been.
Death, murder, direct, indirect, intentional or unintentional- The meaning of life after loss. Who gives a damn about any of that wax poetically elsewhere. Let’s call a spade a spade. No need to complicate matters.
Let’s all just take a breather and sit with the facts.
There’s a victim here, a life that could’ve been spared. Compared to that undeniable fact do the justifications of the living really matter? Do they matter enough to overshadow the life lost, what it was, what it could have been?
I mean those justifications can only be given because they’re still standing. All of them still have a life to live, something to go back, things to look forward to. In that sense the prisoners have been in the limelight far too long and many fans seem to agree-
Well, at least the number one Hinako fan does!
This girl knows in her heart that Hinako deserved better in every way! In the narrative, in life, and especially in screentime. So many prisoners have pleaded with the audience to think about their victims. *cough* *cough* Shidou trial one voice drama.
Eh-hem sorry that was weird.
Himawari-candy heard that plea and said ya know who deserves that sort of thought Hinako! Because- Damn it, looking at Shidou’s victims on an individual level is impossible even for him.
Q.02 What do you think of your victim?
Shidou: I don’t know who in particular you’re referring to.
Seriously people might just have to ask this man trial three what he thought of his patients to narrow things down. So, what the hell are fans supposed to do? Just make them up think of the families he hasn’t even bothered to mention other than offhandedly?
Every individual that has been notably displayed as a victim within the characters’ stories has fans and detractors just like the main cast. Taking a minute to put ourselves in the victims’ shoes can never hurt and can allow people to get a look at the whole situation. Let alone any member of this audience. We could all do with a little back to basic by asking ourselves what would we do in the victims' circumstances.
Because let's be honest more often than not we're putting ourselves in the position of the prisoners not the victims. Everyone wants to be the misunderstood one who stood up against an earthly injustice or evil but never the victim of someone who saw wrong where there was none. We all wanna be the tragic hero nobody wants to be just another person in the pile of bodies the tragic hero racks up though. No one wants to be the one killed for telling this tragic hero they may have strayed into evil or getting in their way.
People tend to want to be the one that lived. That's why it's so easy to agree with the prisoners sometimes. I mean who else is their to agree with. To the victor goes the spoils. Once the other party is dead the the one living can tell whatever story they want. The worse the victim could do if their grudge is heavy enough is haunt them. Most people that do these things are more afraid of being haunted than being caught for a reason.
So-
Take a walk down this alternative path covered with cute art and her bubbly disarming sociability. Unlike my more morbid and pragmatic speech her casualness makes this line of interrogation far more welcoming. She reblogs fan art others have made as well.
Her own art has a nostalgic look to it akin to a children’s book making the most unsettling things have a sparkle of familiarity and warmth.
Happy Valentines Day
A Heart like A Birds
Always a pleasure to see it making the rounds. Oh yeah, she’s a fan of Alien Stage too! I wonder who her favorites are?
Kyanako
Huh- what’s that sound? Mourning bells- Now, who on earth would… Eh- Ah, of course. Hey, now- Don’t fault the execution(s). Things ending (like lives) is what gives them meaning after all! Well-known for her inclination towards angst and as one of Amane Momose’s biggest fans/defenders.
Kyanako has a habit of exploring the good, the bad, and the angsty-
Order of Attack Banner
Order of Attack
Given her interests in Danganronpa, Your Turn to Die, as well as Long Live the Queen. She's definitely no stranger to dead ends. Hmm... Long Live the Queen, huh? I wonder if she could put some focus into Mu for a little bit to fling her in a Long Live the Queen au? Of course, Mu wouldn’t do the lumen route though.
When she’s not making the fandom a bit more lively with her presence Kyanako can be found enjoying her many ocs, appreciating and making music, and making some really cute clothes for her Milgram plushies.
She’s shown the prisoners hell and heaven alike.
The focus she puts into the interpersonal relationships between them before the collapse makes it all the more shocking when things finally come to their inevitable conclusion.

Direct, prudent, and always welcoming she’s a joy to have in any fandom environment- But! Watch out just like Amane she gives as good as she gets.

Purge March Usurps MeMe
As one of the milgramblrgram prisoners she’s known for teaming up with others behind the scenes and sneak attacks galore- But; it’s all in good fun!
Huh, did any of you know about all the multitalented individuals in the fandom? Well, of course you did you’re all here as well! All of you are more here than I am. It must get daunting. It’s easy to get self-conscious when surrounded by talent on all ends.
Even easier to talk oneself out of trying but it’s important to remember that no one can provide your voice but you. It’s something wholly unique to yourself and at times that can be scary and sometimes you won’t always agree with or get along with others because of that uniqueness.
Hey, but it’s not scary- you know that right? It can’t be scary because it’s love! Putting our unique visions and feelings out there in the way that best represents and is most comfortable for us as individuals is the biggest form of self-love one can commit to. It’s something that everyone within this and any fandom chooses to do every day. Hitting those creative walls over and over feeling overlooked that’s an experience any artist is used to feeling be it with their original works or fanworks.
It's something every Milgram fan has become acquainted with due to the nature of the series itself. It incentivizes putting yourself out there in ways that one may have never done before otherwise. Kyanako has shown me in the way that she conducts herself what it means to be a fan of anything really. How being a fan isn’t about gatekeeping or knowing the one true reading it’s about allowing your passion for something to drive you and your interests to paths you may not have trodden otherwise.
Being a fan of something should invite a person to do things they’ve never done before. To look at something in new and interesting ways. It’s something that is more for the individual than the group at times. Kyanako reminds me that liking something quietly doesn’t diminish how much it’s liked. Through her plethora of interests outside of Milgram and her willingness to always look at something new.
I think taking a moment to remember that could be so comforting to a lot of people here just as it was for me.

Maristelina
Ah, this guy- I don’t know much about them. Wait now; hold on! Just because I don’t know much doesn’t diminish any of her many contributions to this fandom. I’ve seen them in passing often and I really like the one post they did on Harrow with translations of the newspapers.
That definitely gave me a lot to chew on. Oh yeah and there was the second link which is my personal favorite of theirs.
She does art, translations, and a few theories here and there.
Milgram Portal Timeline Masterpost
Trial 1 Song of the Prisoners
One could say he was a little integral for the more than two alter Mikoto theory. Some may know their name from the posts they made on that back in the day.
But Gunsli- I thought you didn’t like that whole line of questioning, and I still don’t. Please don’t get it twisted. Then why- Hold on, hold on. I like information whether that information is contrary to what I know, believe I know, or personally feel is the case does not matter. I treat most information neutrally.
If there’s a way it can make sense I will fucking look for that way.
I’ll walk that bridge whether its with someone else or by myself I have walked that bridge.  Even though I can say I don’t see it. Some good points are made within a good deal of those posts, and they’ve undoubtedly contributed to this space.
Now I’m not singling Maristelina out by any means there are more people on this list that discuss this idea and present it through art. Like it is not personal I am just giving credit where credit is due. They provided a lot of information in regards to this that’s worthy of respect. Information I’m certain has contributed to many people’s enjoyment of this series and that character.
That’s something commendable. I will say I feel more depth could’ve been gone into in some of them and that it fell into a lot of the trappings that those conversations tend to.
Still for all their time spent doing what at times can be incredibly thankless work, his genuine love of the series, her immense persistence in displaying that love even when life starts being life. Maristelina without a doubt deserves many thanks from this fandom and me personally for always showing me something new and impressive.
Also like I said they make art as well- I really like the ways they use lighting it’s super comforting and can give off this fluffy feel at times that I’m partial to.
meowkusunoki
Some may know this user from its Milgram memes. Maybe even his enjoyment of the Evillious Chronicles which was the first thing to come to Star’s mind when she saw the name. Personally, since I am not in the tag often this is the first time I’ve been acquainted with a good few of the people on this list works.
I tend to stick to my little section, my little things, and not branch out too much.
So, I mostly know them as the creator of Dollgram,

First Trial Commencement Notice
An ocmilgram with some very good character amvs and art.
Right now, I would have to say my favorite character is Tadashi just because of how blatantly suspicious she is. She seems to be the sort of person who’s straight forward about their shortcomings despite trying to remain vague.
Very blunt which I like. The character dialogue is organic but feels like it could be flushed out more. The conversations are really engaging and the characterization shines through well. It gives off a feeling of idle chitchat well. I’d recommend checking it out. I had a lot of fun reading it.
Milk-ly
It’s your turn to- Create! If you’re reading all my ramblings, then I got no doubt you may enjoy hers as well! Always happy to start or contribute to a train of thought- if you’re looking to hammer out an idea this girl is the sort to start hitting out the dents with you!
Sweet and to the point she focuses on evening out the foundation of any idea. Fandom is a space where its quite easy to fall into a pattern of dismissing the opinions of others or getting defensive when someone else’s thoughts contradict your own beliefs.
Hell, not even in just in fandom in life it can be very difficult to allow new perspectives in.
Kotoko and Futa's connection to witch trials and werewolf trials
What one believes to be common can be completely foreign to another. Because at the end of the day we’re all living lives that will for better or worse be independent of anyone other than ourselves. So, it’s nice to have someone who’s willing to take a moment to make space for your ideas and discuss them.
For me that’s one of my favorite things even when people disagree with what I believe. Such as the Kazui situation. At the time it felt like a dogpile but I was really excited to hear everyone’s thoughts on it. The timing was simply not the most ideal with life stuff going on. It really gave me a lot to think about when it came to the depictions of instruments in art.
Plus, I got to have a lot of fun looking up instruments and trying to disprove myself in a way. But in hindsight I was pretty whiny heh-heh though I was happy to talk to the person about it and enjoyed her genuineness. That experience reminded me that well people aren’t our worst assumptions and viewing things differently from each other is and should be enriching not degrading or disparaging.
Milk-ly is someone I’ve enjoyed seeing in the fandom because she’s a relaxing presence and tries to give everyone a fair shake. I respect that a lot. Especially when I recognize my own immatureness at times when it comes to presenting myself and my own views.
I can’t help but be impressed by her.
Regardless of how turbulent online spaces can be she’s been a chill presence all while providing sweet art and good laughs!
Mikoto art and memes
Any fandom is lucky to have someone like her in it. She’s into Your Turn to Die as well maybe one day I’ll go back and do that rhythm game.
Monopoisonous
Poison can be sweet in small doses. Don’t worry, don’t worry- Things haven’t reached the point of lethality yet. Known for their expert use of colors and grasp of anatomy- It’s a bit scary when this resident Mikoto fan goes all out, right?
Yuno art
Mikoto art
It’s an overwhelmingly unique style that blends realism and animation influences together in all the right ways. Hopefully they don’t end up overdosing on Mikoto content before making more~
I wanted to say more so I came back and said more! It's rather clear that Monopoisonous has a solid sense of artistry. It can be easy to take the art at face value simply because of how good it is. To me it comes off as perfectly balanced at times. The structure leans more into realism with a good understanding of the human form.
The anatomy, use of colors, and shading immediately make the art stand out their's to me whenever I see it. They're also a Kagepro and Project Sekai fan. I really liked their Mikoto Additional Memory art. I wish I could say more but I truly am at a loss for words.

Where it’s up to the reader to discern what the prisoners have done through a series of websites. A beautiful combination of graphic design, storytelling, and the old fashion website formats come together masterfully in this new prison.
Except there’s a twist in order to move forward here one party must be found guilty. Whomever the majority of guards find innocent will be innocent and the person who fails to meet the majority’s expectations will be guilty by default.
It’s a bit of a strange balancing act where one party needs to look bad for the other to appear good.
I don’t know how well it will turn out though. Some people have more of an advantage than others going off of the first pair on trial. It’d be very easy for some to view one party as helpless to their circumstances and the other as an instigator or complicit.
I’d be surprised if the verdict there is even close. Though maybe others would disagree. Take a look at it for yourselves and come to your own conclusion. Regardless of the conclusion one ends up drawing it’s a hell of an experience all the same.
Their art style is very reminiscent to some old school visual novels. Well, at least to me it’s giving off that sort of vibe. It really adds to the atmosphere of their Milgram. Oh yeah- In general they seem to have structured way of presenting their thoughts online that sometimes breaks into a more casual tone. They tend to elaborate in a grammatically correct way hence the casually punctual.
It was more about punctuation than timing ha…bad joke, huh?
Alright, alright I get it fandom is filled with a lot of talented visual artists and people who can hold a writing utensil better than I can. The amount of art people have access to at the swipe of a finger can feel daunting. One might just figure it’s easier to just find a singular artist to stick to and call it a day.
Ya, know like how some may enjoy the illusion of choice more than the actual ability to choose.
An abundance of artists in any area is a good problem to have. It can foster variety and ingenuity when engaged with in good conscience. It’s easy to take visual art for granted when we’re all exposed to it so often. Even those who create can fall into the trap of comparisons and end up discouraging themselves. But-
Art appreciation is a skill one must hone for themselves not only as a creator but as a viewer. It’s easy to look at a piece and stay ignorant of the process it took to get there.
It's easy to like something in passing but much more difficult to enjoy something wholeheartedly without pause and show that for all to see. The milgram fandom is lucky to have visual artists from around the globe who won’t hesitate to make their appreciation of the series known through their works.
But Gunsli it’s soooo much art it’s so many links- what a modern society problem to have back in Kazui’s day they didn’t have art. Why do you think colonizers stole so much of it? It was hard out there they had to find that shit in caves and call it history.
“I can’t, I can’t take it anymore.”
Aw come on don’t be that way. The best sort of person is the type who can tell someone every little reason they like something. What have none of you ever looked at a piece of art and gone more than wow nice. Instead said something like the use of colors is amazing, it gives off the feeling of a lazy afternoon, the anatomy gives off a loose unimpeded feeling, the rigid use of lines adds to the constricted atmosphere.
Come on go a little further why don’t you- Like our next artist!
Nomeniko
Now here’s a person that knows how appreciate art just as much as they make it!
Not only do they create amazing works but he also reblogs a good deal of art from others. She’s art appreciation embodied- It’s pretty amazing to be someone who not only creates but can see the value and beauty in the creations around them. People tend to forget that before creating comes appreciating- Ah, there’s so many works I’ve appreciated in my short life and I’m looking to enjoy many more.
Amane's birthday conversation (2024)
Mikoto system art
When it comes to posting he's got a pretty lax cadence that matches the casualness of their blog well. As for their art this is another nostalgic homerun being a bit reminiscent of FLCL and OFF. The emphasis of their art comes through in the forms with stunning gestures that manages to display movement and feel in a way that can be striking or comforting depending on the overall tone of the piece.
All that to say it’s really good. Sorry, I look at a lot of art but my descriptors can be quite lame- Plus I can compare a lot. I hope that’s not offensive to anyone’s efforts.
Polarmary
This person is never Vi-ing for anyone’s attention. Straight forward and earnest when it comes to her interests, she can be found displaying her enjoyment of Milgram, Arcane, and Kotoko in particular. With occasional post about their day to day here as well. She’s got an style that’s well to put it bluntly they’ve got a range. With a good understanding of form and lighting their art can go from cold and stoic to warm and fluffy.
Deep Cover Kotoko
Girls night
My personal favorites are their animal drawings, the one of the hippo is very cute. Oh then there’s the one with the girls having a sleep over- Plus, the one where Kotoko just adopts a wolf cub. Personally, I think if she just did that she wouldn’t be here but that’s neither here or there. (Give Kotoko and Futa emotional support pets. It’s always correct.)
Fun fact my favorites from Arcane are Jinx and Ekko.
I find this fact fun mostly because I think the reputation I’ve garnered from being in the Milgram fandom is people assuming that I just hate girls and are harsh on them for no real reason. Sometimes all while assuming my gender. My friends find this understanding very funny given what I tend to let slide- and their impression is I am,
Too naïve.
Too forgiving.
Usually, I’m taking Milgram so seriously or being critical as some may see it because that’s how I engage with and enjoy engaging with media. Milgram just happens to invite that sort of scrutiny. I’m pleasantly surprised to see so many people in this fandom are also into Arcane.
Purgemarchlockdown
Are you locked in yet? Well; are you locked in yet?
I can't hear you- Because this is a prewritten text interaction, and I literally cannot hear you and you can’t hear me. Huh I wonder what it sounds like when each of you is reading this internally what type of voice is given to me- Well that’s not important the fact is your eyes are on it and that means you're still reading.
I bet some of you may be wondering what exactly are you trying to sell us on here Gunsli?
What are you trying to accomplish through propping up these other fans. That’s exactly the thing I’m trying to accomplish though. Propping up fans. The one's that have made this environment what it is outside of myself. The people that elevate other people’s perspectives to make something greater than the sum of its parts.
The Milgram staff tries its best to give attention to its fans regardless of where they’re from. Yet, the truth is there are still barriers between the staff in their global audience. Their efforts to include overseas fans with everything is commendable. However, I want people to know there are other things they can do to show appreciation not only towards the pieces of media they may enjoy but the people they enjoy those things with.
It doesn't have to be like this.
Anyone can show their appreciation of other fans in ways that are completely unique to them. There are so many examples. Hosting games, having holiday events, art trades… Those are all things fans have hosted to make this experience more fun for everyone here. Even just sending a few kind words like the ones I received can mean so much.
To quote a certain piece of media “Without love, it cannot be seen”.
There's no one that knows this better than Purgemarchlockdown. It understands the weight of words more than most here. It knows that words have power. That a promise is a promise and that’s it. Generally referred to by Nott it has shown me the importance of not only recognizing the weight of your own words but the weight of the words the people around me use as well.
That one can recognize intent and impact simultaneously.
Regardless of what you’re interested in there’s a mindset specific to you and you alone that only entered this world when you did. Thinking on one’s own, liking, disliking to the point of tunnel vision- Those conversations, disagreements, and thoughts only you can have. The limits in ourselves only we can see.
That’s the thing we all bring to the table in any situation.
So,being able to take a step back and recognize one’s own intent in comparison to the impact one may have had. It’s important. Because no one can ever guess how someone else will take them. Everyone wants to be having fun but they can never really tell the point where that fun has become at someone else’s expense.
It’s easy to tote around values one never has to follow through on.
Easy to type a few simple words about how one doesn’t have to forgive their abusers or be near them, intrusive thoughts don’t define a person, promote one’s self as a safe space for people of color and the marginalized. Claim solidarity when all one wants is the accolades from seeming progressive for appearing kind. But it’s important to be able to wade through the bullshit and see how the people that one shares a space with actually treat marginalized individuals, how they respond to people they claim they’re a safe space for whether those people disagree with them or not, where’s their line at do they care about everyone or only those who agree with them.
How solid is our compassion, how firm are these things we think should be the natural course of things. Do we stand on it when we say it’s harder to be kind than it is to be cruel or when things get hard do we commit to the easy way. Mercy, kindness, active listening and empathy isn’t easy- Sin isn’t easy.
The impact we all have on the people around us isn’t easy.
At a point I had to learn I needed to stop holding my intent in higher regard than my impact. I had to look at how I responded to things and extend mercy to myself for the ways I fall short my own expectations and think about how what I do impacts others. All while understanding that doesn’t mean the intent doesn’t matter anymore.
Yet, the one thing remains true.
If one spends all their life worrying about how they’ll be taken, if something is too much or too little, if they should check in on someone that’s having a hard time or not because of how appropriate they think it may be…
No one gets help from that. No one benefits from someone squashing their own concerns.
Bravery to me is the ability to say I see someone is having a hard time and though it may make life a little more difficult for me or my attempts may be spurned I want to check if they’re okay. At the expense of my ego, even if I may not get answer, I want them to know how I feel and how even if briefly they made my life better.
It takes a lot of courage to put the ball in someone else’s court.
Just let go of control of a situation and meet someone where they are and hope they meet you back. Now you may be thinking,
“Gunsli what does that have to do with fandom- or the Milgram fandom specifically.”
A lot. It has a lot to do with fandom in general and the Milgram fandom. Yamanaka wrote these characters with the intent of them being like any other person in life. They aren’t meant to be viewed so two dimensionally regardless of what disorders or other issues they may have.
Kotoko and fascism
Power dynamics in Milgram
Every character is a full person with multiple ranges of emotions as well as beliefs. If we can’t treat the fans we share a space with like other complete human beings how can we in honesty give the same courtesy to the stories we enjoy. It’s easy to say this is simply the case. Someone is just x and this other someone is just y.
It’s easy to focus on compare and contrast reasoning. Yet, it’s harder to look at someone that one may disagree with and still ask,
"How is this person like me, though?"
Can we look past our egos? Can we stop allowing a character’s mindset to boost us up and validate ourselves. To make us feel good and secure in our existence because they get it this shows that people get it- And see these things for what they are?
Yes, it’s a glorious feeling to see someone write out exactly how one may have felt or has been feeling in any medium- But admiration is the furthest thing from understanding.
Feeling good is nice. Yet, knowing how and why something makes us feel good gives us all knowledge on ourselves. Knowledge that allows us to take a step back and recognize when our biases may be getting manipulated. Not just with Milgram but with things like-
Slay the Princess, Digimon, Umineko, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Puella Magi Madoka Magica- All things Nott brings the exact same energy it brings to Milgram to.
Because when one is able to recognize their likes and dislikes anyone is able to enjoy everything to the fullest like it can.

Huh- Ah, hello to you! I hope your year has been going splendidly. Hm, I’m probably about to say something no one will understand other than me. Bu-but her art kind of reminds me of playing with clay! Ah how do I explain it. See this is what I meant in the last one about my way of describing art being weird.
I don’t describe it in the technical sense, I describe it based off the weight or feeling it gives off. I’m pretty sure Star doesn’t even understand this one and she’s proofreading. It’s like when I look at art I kind of think of it in the sense of what it would be like to touch. It gives off the firmness but flexibility of molding clay.
That’s been sculpted into a fine shape but could bend or break under the slightest pressure. It has a firm fragility to it that I really like, it’s rather impressive! It’s difficult to make something rigid but cushiony all at once. On top of that her expression work is really good too.
Princess Mononoke Yuno and Kotoko
When she’s not drawing fanart she can be found posting about her interests and talking about her ocs. I wish I talked about my ocs more openly! Hopefully you keep it up and all your years to come are better than the last.
Waivyjellyfish
She hardly ever stings with an affable way of speaking she makes waves in any fandom. One of Es’ biggest fans! It’s Waivy- Her art is very squishy. I’d say the feel of it is very reminiscent of flan. Since it doesn’t give off a feel as hard as jello or as soft as pudding this is a nice middle ground comparison.
Harlequin (Arlekino) Es
Es art
Her lining tends to be fluid causing it to catch the eye more easily. Even sketches end up having a nice yet not overbearing weight to them. Giving off a solid but squishy to jiggly feel. Now where Waivy's abilities shine through the most is with character designs, displays of movement, and perspective.
She’s great at drawing things in a way where one is easily able to pick up the mannerisms and movements of the subject. Meaning despite being still it still manages to feel very animated and lively. Her expression work also gives a good deal of incite into the characters making them easy to read from a glance.
This shines through the most with her ocs the Dokuro Family. Outside of drawing Waivy also does 3D printing. I’m a bit curious about how that goes in general since I don’t know much about it myself. She’s a 3D printer by specialty with a bunch of other media interests.
Some that I hadn’t heard for a while such as Katekyo Hitman Reborn (one day I will finish what I start that day won’t be today sorry Tsuna), One Piece (sorry Luffy), and Zenless Zone Zero to name a few.
My friend is into Zenless Zone Zero and I had the pleasure of seeing that all their sponsored ads on tumblr had been flagged for breaking community guidelines because I don’t know tumblr is a functioning website, I guess. This has nothing to do with anything it was just weird as fuck like what did this ad do?
Tumblr media
It was every one of them on my mobile for a bit. Like I’m not complaining it was kind of like going ad free. Still weird none the less. So, I mostly know that one due to that. We were actually talking about the four horsemen of the apocalypse because of it recently.
Waivy sometimes writes as well but it’s rare. She tends to be a pleasure in the fandom and open to requests. Just don’t expect anything immediately and follow the rules!
Lastly, I know that it’s difficult to put oneself out there when it comes to communicating likes. It can feel embarrassing and cause a good deal of unwarranted anxiety to express positivity. Especially when one is uncertain of how the other party may take it.
As someone who gets anxious about doing those sorts of things myself, I can empathize. That or maybe I’m just projecting.
I’ve realized lately that it’s very easy for some to be dragged into a sandpit of negativity. It’s so much easier to give into to being critical when something strikes a nerve than to find anything good within it. It’s an honest but short-sighted response to a stimulus but that’s what makes it so human.
Contrastingly, people tend to put a lot more thought into being kind or showing positivity. So much in fact that they may talk themselves out of doing anything at all or convince themselves they’re doing too much. Just thinking about it can feel embarrassing and spark self-doubt like should I really be saying this, is it too much etc.
So, I wanted to make it clear that this wasn’t weird at all to me, and I greatly appreciate you spending your time on writing up such nice words for me. I know that it took a lot of time for me to answer. My apologies for that. Ultimately I saw this as a good opportunity to pay it forward and to show some respect to the others that make this fandom more unique.
Even if I don't engage with others often.
I hope that wherever anyone is at right now that we're all having the best new years eve or day that we can. That we go into the new year having learned more and looking forward to the amazing things to come regardless of the struggles that may crop up along the way. There are so many things that online creations can't convey be it a piece of art, analysis or a post, I hope in 2025 people are able to recognize the existences behind the screen more than the things they make on it.
That we all start appreciating and respecting each other more regardless of how close we may or may not be.
Though I know certain people would find that hypocritical coming from me. I'm not a saint and I don't forgive everything or everyone. Though the one thing I carry in everything I do is respect for the agency of others. I do believe fully I don't have to like someone to respect that they're alive and disliking them doesn't make anyone a object of my disrespect.
That's always how I'm gonna see it.
Outside of that I hope to get to spend a lot more time with Star while talking about things I enjoy. I want to make it clear this ask really made my year in a lot of ways. I'm not trying to be holier than thou or force some air of false positivity. I really do think internet spaces can be a lot more fun when we manage our expectations of others within them and sit with our feelings for a bit before reacting.
At the same don't get used to like all this kindness- I'm going into 2025 like a mirror people are getting what they give with me. I'm not a saint I'm a petty, mean, individual who is doing their very best to choose kindness every day and when I fail to choose it I will fail to do so in an spectacularly human way.
Bottom line is I'm going to be obnoxious about Milgram next year. I am going to have as much fun with it as I possibly can as respectfully as I can. I am ready to see hell and bring hell right back. Because I'm enjoying all of this until the very end.
(Star here: Ever since Gunsli came up with this idea I've been interested in seeing how it pans out. This year has been rough but there have also been a lot of people trying to make things better than how they first came across it. Even if it's by only a bit.
Gunsli has put in so much effort and energy into milgram stuff, it's been impressive to see. She's been reaching out more and more and it's heartening to see at least some of her efforts responded to in kind. Excited is a good look for her :- 3
That being said, I'm the one hitting post, since Gunsli is going to be out for a good few hours. >:- 3c if you want to, you should surprise her with messages. Also, from me- I hope everyone's new year pans out better than this one!)

alright so i don't have any drawings to post for this yet, but as promised here's my explanation for that Odd Squad Glitch Techs au i mentioned the other day!!!
lots of yapping under the cut, i am very bad at summarizing things but. i tried
ok so basically. i realized that both shows involve kids solving weird problems and anomalies and whatnot and i thought it would be fun to turn the odd squad kids into techs! and it's really silly how well a lot of this stuff translates over lol. it's just odd problems but video game themed
so basically to start off the season one gang is pretty much the same but the roles have shifted around slightly, i have a whole rewrite plotted out for GT episode one where Otto is basically both Five and Miko (mostly Five though tbh) and there's the whole contest and everything. Mitch is Oren but like if he was worse at his job. i guess. less of a hard worker at least. Olive is also there despite already being a tech but y'know. but basically she and Otto pull the thing where they sorta team up or at least help each other out a bit because neither of them like Oren but like in the actual episode the game glitches and Olive gets pulled out of the game to fight the glitch, and while everyone is distracted Oren just resets Otto because he's a sore loser and doesn't want to admit he was losing to someone who's not even a tech. a little bit of time goes by and at some point Olive runs into Otto again while catching a glitch and he helps her defeat it, and afterwards she's like "oh hey you're that kid from the competition!" and Otto, who doesn't remember any of that, is like "lol what competition? :)" and Olive is suspicious now so she pretty much just drags him back to hq with her and then things happen and he gets the job and stuff hooray!
also some other notes
Oscar is like the support guy! he probably knows how to hack some stuff but mainly he just invents things and fixes people's gauntlets and such. hinobi tech support's tech support. if you will
glitch modder Todd!!!!!! he's literally a glitch modder you gotta believe me. same as in canon he got too bored with his job and started causing problems on purpose but specifically, he started modding glitches to raise their difficulty level to make them more entertaining, which then turned into just modding them in general and then into causing glitches on purpose. the pienado was a modded glitch of his, he took the original glitch which came from some sort of like. candy crush type mobile game i imagine. and made it more powerful than it should have been. so yeah Olive is also scared of pies here
Todd is also immune to resets Miko style because it makes him a bigger threat
the pirate-itis episode was a possessor glitch that was slowly taking over Olive. because i think that would be neat idk
the season two kids are here too!!! Olympia is still a big fan of the glitch techs and also Olive, despite the fact that she's. not really supposed to know they exist. she saw Olive take down a glitch one time and somehow avoided being reset afterwards. she's not interested in like exposing their existence or anything though she just really really wants to join and eventually she gets recruited and is absolutely overjoyed
as for Otis, he is still a former villain but in this case he's specifically a former hacker. Brother Quack is his actual human older brother who raised him and was also the leader of a hacking/modding group that was very against the Hinobi techs. at some point they start messing around with creating actual harmful glitches that could cause some serious harm and Otis decides that things have officially crossed the line and like in canon he runs to Ms. O for help. his brother doesn't remember the betrayal anymore but Otis avoids him anyway because guilt and also because he's afraid that he might remember at some point. tragic siblings moment
Drop Gadget Repeat still happens but it's not a literal time loop, it's a mapper glitch of some sort of puzzle game that Oona gets trapped in, and she can't get out until she beats the whole game but she's stuck on the last level so she calls in Olympia and Otis to help. it's one of those timed puzzles where the level gets reset when the timer runs out and they're all struggling. eventually they figure it out with teamwork though so yippee!
6:00 to 6:05 is something similar to that as well i think
Ocean is the pet guy kinda. because it's silly :)
anyways yea! silly secret agents show moments i love both of these shows so of course i had to put them in the blender together lol. i'll design the characters eventually, i have some ideas in mind already :3

I WANT TO DRAW CENTAUR HORSE CROSS SO *BAD* BUT I SUCK SO HARD AT DRAWING HORSES
Like, hear me out. This man??? He is HEAVILY associated with the royal guard. There is simply NOT ENOUGH centaur Cross.
I first though Abt making him a Clydesdale, because, y'know, they're MAJESTIC. Beautiful horses. However, I heard that, although you can ride them, they're not exactly the sort of animal ya wanna ride for much(apparently their feet"" get injured often), which, y'know, I can't picture Cross not being. They're apparently "draught" horses??
So, uh, they are more about carrying stuff. Even though the shape language would be amazing for these, because they're very robust, quadrangular, it does not quite fit.
So, uh, I found some stuff. I found stuff about "destrier horses", which were horses trained for battle, and the Wikipedia lists some breeds. There are some listed, but the one I thought coolest would be the Andalusian horse, because not only does he seem to be the one most popularly known for being a battle horse, but it is also known as "Spanish pure breed", which I thought would be nice, because it is a little callback (even if he is not Spanish, following the Sans nationality = creator's nationality thing).
The Wikipedia article also cites its use in diplomacy. I think it's a neat parallel to him being a tool to appease somebody else (after all, he is simply a result of Xgaster trying to create a perfect world for Xchara and Xfrisk).
The problem is,,, I do not know how to draw horses. Much less understand the difference between horse breeds and accentuate them.
But, uh, this is an idea. I've also been thinking about making the dream tale twins into elks because,,, it simply fits their vibe??? It would be hella cool to have apple slices, rotted away (perhaps apple cores?) stuck in his antlers, sprouting into small plants that droop low — bowing, if you will.
I also thought about minotaur Horror(or simply have something along the lines of Cross, but with a taurine body. I do not think the minotaur myth exactly fits with him, but this has never been about that tbh), simply because,,, isn't it fun when the bull is the owner of the slaughterhouse himself???? And, like, I feel like there's such fucking sick metaphors to make with that. Nobody creates carnivore animals to eat in an extensive fashion because the animal would eat more than it's worth, ultimately making for a model that does not sustain itself.
I've kinda thought about dust and Killer, but, like, there's just not enough reason in any of my choices??? I think Ram Dust is really sick, because "yes". I do not have a deep reason for it.
I,,, don't really know what to do for Killer tho, if I were to do something like that. I thought about those deer with fangs, because I think that the way that their outward display of aggression ends up being bad for them kinda mirrors Killer.
I mean, if I remember correctly, he's quite literally taken off his "powerful" eye. It's why he cannot summon gaster blasters like other sanses do, instead being able to only summon a single one.
It isn't exactly about aggression, as much as it seems to be about trill seeking.
I do know this isn't canon, but I see Killer as an absolute adrenaline junkie. Mfer wants to feel good desperately, and he will hurt himself in the process without thinking twice — he will pet the kitties, whether they give him rabies or not (maybe some days he'll understand what the scratches mean and just,,, go away. Others, he will just try to coo and insist that they are really cute).
Anyways.
I also kinda wanted to make Killer a deer because in portuguese, deer is slang for gay and I really needed to fit this joke somewhere.
I have no idea what stuff like Swap and Ink would be too,,, like, Swap might be a moose because they're close enough to elks and they're also hella bulky, and really remind me about maple syrup, but, uh, they're REALLY big. Swap ain't that big. He's a small tank. Which might bring him closer to sheep territory, but I need a sheep that is BULKY, a sheep that can pack a punch,,, but I'm not sure. Since he is usually regarded as looking fairly weak(AND HE IS WEAK AS HELL. Swap has the stats of a normal sans, but none of the benefits,, I think he has TOP NOTCH protective gear so that most hits simply do not cause any damage. He can take the weight. I also think he has a shield, and he absolutely uses that shield as a main weapon — he fights against people whose defense is attack by making his attack his defense) a sheep might work???
Ink makes me think about cows. Because of the splatters, and because cows scream unhingedness to me (miltank flashbacks), while being usually hella strong.
They're not agile, though.
Ink always felt like a monkey to me, as the closest analogy. I mean, think about him,,, just,,, it does not fit here, y'know?
I also think it would be funny.
Anyways, I ramble too much.

I miss miss my Zaundads, but let's talk about moms for a bit
Vander and Silco were my jam in season 1 of Arcane.
Let's talk about their presence or lack thereof in season 2 so far and what might be coming instead.
They didn't have much of a presence in season 2 so far. I kind of expected we would have gotten more Jinx hearing Silco's voice in her head and that it would have been more of a story about what are her wishes versus what are his wishes and I expected that ther would be more creeping buildup to the Warwick stuff in the background.
They didn't end up going for that and I don't really have a problem with it.
I think in a way season 1 benefitted a lot from that traditional paternal power structure presence (and how it falls apart) and I think it's actually kind of brave to move away on that and build something without it. (note that even Singed who had a dark father presence in his own way, both as a mentor to Viktor and the one who creates Jinx with Shimmer was barely present in season 2 so far even though we expect him to do at least one more act of fathering).
And in a way it's forward thinking because of course their main characters, Jinx, Vi and Caitlyn are female so so they are going to step into the position of power role, they are going to female mentors or pseudo mothers.
(sidenote: as much as I think it would have been a cool and tragic and interesting story to see Jinx torn between what are her own wishes and what are Silco's wishes, I think it's also pretty neat that they went for not that and instead it's just Jinx having to figure out what she wants and what she is)
So.... mothers!
The main mother presences were of course Ambessa and Cassandra. And we have Jinx being forced in the Silco role with the young girl.
Ambessa of course is the overwhelmed mother, who already lost a child, invades the home of her other child and has to juggle pressure from the outside.
I got to say I feel really, really, really cheated that we didn't get to see a longer "seduction" scene where we see Ambessa manipulating the chembaron into attacking by inciting her rage over her dead son by Ambessa relating to how she lost her son.
She also steps into being a dark mentor to Caitlyn.
With Caitlyn the presence of Cassandra looms large and one of the most intriguing things was the little hint that Vi dropped that she knows that it feels like to step into her mother's role.
In theory she could have been referring to Vander and we could get something like in season 1 when she hallucinated him during the Sevika fight. But I'm optimistic that maybe we will get a flashback to Jinx and Vi's mom and how Vi was still sort of also in a mothering position with Powder (does that mean that Vi has failed her "child"?)
I do wanna say, if Jinx is going to mostly echo what Silco did with her, I don't necessarily consider that "motherly" just because Jinx is female. So Jinx could just as easily be "dadding" Isha. Or maybe she will remember her own mother or Vi and create her own blended version.
The only of the season 1 "dads" who still had decent amounts of screentime in season 2 so far is Heimer and I think its noteworthy that despite there being the "this is my former student, this is my current student" to me he doesn't feel very dad-like to me anymore.
In season 1 Heimer was a traditional dad/male mentor figure. He has students, he encourages them, he scolds them, he is disappointed that his influence on the world was negative, he is hurt when his "son" throws him out.
In season 2, it feels like he has accepted a new position in life. In season 1 his "dadness" was based on his knowledge and in season 2 it feels like he sees himself as having no clue and now having a lot of kid like enthusiasm. In way he put himself more in the student role because he realized he had no idea what was going on.
Of course it's possible that Warwick and Singed's roles will ramp up over the season and we will have more mixed approaches to "parenting" in general rather than primarily "mothers & daughters". (ie that Ambessa versus Warwick could be "the mom" versus "the dad")
(don't let me dream of Ekko co-parenting Isha or parenting his tree followers)
Of course there's a chance that Viktor will join the "dad club" in that he dads his followers, in the sense he creates something and feels responsible for what they do, just like Jinx will presumably have to deal with the responsibility of people following her.

What is webfishing about,, infodump on me boy (gn)
APOLOGIES, I WAS IN THE SHOWER BUT OH!!
Dunno if I'm the best to explain this BUT Webfishing is just a fun, cozy little game where you can sit down and fish with friends! Or without friends! Or with strangers! But just know it is primarily a multiplayer fishing game.
Big comfortable vibes all around! I saw it quite a while ago (as I understand it was on itch.io previously) and it recently came out on Steam so all my friends immediately hopped on it. I eventually caved and went eh, why not!
Tumblr media
The music in it is lovely, I love the style of the game (you can mess with the pixilization/turn it off entirely), I enjoy how you can play alone-- I like how nice the people who've joined my server have been-- it's very simple and very neat!
Tumblr media
You can create a fun little avatar to represent yourself (or be silly with), you can gain more cosmetics through quests (though the cosmetics are also cheap as HELL I've noticed), you can upgrade your gear to find more fish (there's almost a hundred I think? Plus the different rarity levels), you can play instruments, you can run around with a metal detector, you can place down props
There's just a bunch of stuff to do!
Tumblr media
It's chill. :] Even if it's been a bit fucky with me personally (my friends seem fine in this regard but the moment there's three+ people on the server it starts getting janky and the backpack starts glitching for me. If I'm not hosting the server players will be stuck in spot for me-- this is either a problem with my laptop or a region thing (maybe both))
Tumblr media
I dunno if anyone else will understand this descriptor but it's a good brainless game-- like, it's a good game to play if you wanna be a bit mindless/need to chill out. Brainless is a good descriptor from me I must reiterate this. It's also good to just play on the side while you draw or write!
(It's also REALLY cheap. It was $7.50 for me but I'm pretty sure it's $5 in USD)
This is very messy and I apologize for that BUT. I hope all this explains things decently well :']

I think my whole brand is like ... taking unpopular or controversial AUs, making my own take on them like giving them more personality ... and an aesthetic I think it's neat to rewrite a character, give them more depth and personality instead of them being something so blank, and one dimensional. People should do it more often, and I love seeing redesigns and peoples ideas for AUs !! Picking up a forgotten character and turning them into something memorable, too, is what I love. When people talk about like idk Bird and make their own stuff about him, I'm just happy 😭 he needs more attention
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FLOWERFELL BELONGS TO ITS RIGHTFUL OWNER who i don't know the name of yikes Flowerfell didn't deserve the controversy it got. For a long time I stayed away from the AU myself because I thought it was the creator who made it fr4ns based, when really, it was the fandom. In all honesty, it has to be the saddest AU, and for how simple of an idea it is, I love it. I feel like Fell in general would make a great dad 🔥 kinda But I do feel like there was a whole chunk of personality missing from this guy ... the only thing in his character was worrying over Frisk, and once they died, that was the end of the AU. But I feel like he deserves a bit more to him
After Frisk's death, I imagine he taught himself to make flower crowns, since those were what Frisk always gifted to him. It first started off as a kind of memorial, but then it turned into a hobby, and then it turned into a habit that he needed to do 24/7
He keeps his piercings in. He's still in Underfell, and he's gotta keep his edge...but despite him trying to look all mysterious and bad, when he lost someone close to him, he started to soften up a bit, feeling as though that maybe he should start appreciating the little things
He started wanting to take care of things so they could live a long, good life. Partly because that's what he wished he could do for Frisk, but also because he just wanted to feel that satisfaction of helping something grow. So, he takes care of any plant he finds, especially in waterfall and the ruins. Toriel keeps her doors open for him so he can tend to the gardens
He still has a short temper, and cursing is still a problem, but it's more out of anxiety now. And the temper thing, he's worked on it, and it's getting better, and he yells less now. In comparison, he's sweeter than OG Fell, but he's not gonna be as chill as Comic any time soon
He learned about AUs when he found Dream and Nightmare battling in the Snowdin Forest once. After, Dream spotted him, and they had a very long conversation about alternate dimensions and such...he's still new to the whole thing, but he's getting used to it.
(General HC) A monster's magic is developed by training and interest, which is why Sanses have their own Gaster Blasters. After enough time in the gardens, Flower!Red ended up developing the ability to manipulate plants, and even create them through the palm of his hand...specifically buttercups. He only uses it when he's feeling fidgety and needs to make a flower crown.
His multiverse name is Patch, like a flower patch :D

I know it may not be the most popular of opinions, but for me the "hard reset" and lack of content would actually be the *appeal* of a Destiny 3. Give us a brand new major story arc, give us new characters (the old could feature but focus attention on new ones), have us create an entirely new Guardian--total reset. (They could have new races, too--playable Hive Guardians! Okay yes I just wanna have a playable Eliksni Guardian that would be so fun). Current D2 content is... Honestly kind of overwhelming. Sometimes. Fresh slate with less content that the build back up would appeal to me a lot. I know they're not interested in doing so at this time, and I respect their preference to keep supporting D2 instead (especially given how many players WOULD throw a fit over the hard reset and lack of content), but I've definitely put in a lot of thought to what a D3 would mean and the big "negatives" are huge draws for me. (Especially if they kept the D1 and D2 servers online so people would have all that content at the ready to go back and play)
I totally understand that! The concept of there being D3 is really interesting and I think it's really neat to talk about possibilities!
There's definitely some appeal in this for me as well, but I think that unfortunately most of the other issues would vastly overshadow this feeling of getting to start fresh. I'm not too bothered with a lack of content overall but I don't think a lot of people truly understand how much of a lack it would be. We're so used to so much stuff to the point of it being overwhelming, but a full restart would be quite the shock.
I think some middle ground would be nice, but even when they did that (in BL, after initial vaulting), people were.... very mad. A lot of people were fine as well, and it's hard to judge because of the very vocal fans and content creators, but to this day people are still seething about how "bad" BL was because of all the stuff that was removed, despite the fact that a lot of stuff was also added.
If you've not been there during release of D1 and D2, it's hard to really imagine what the game looked like and played like, but these are completely unimaginable differences. I can't speak for D1, but vanilla D2 in comparison with even just a year after is an entirely different game. Basically, it would be a gigantic risk to do this, on top of splitting the community, and hope that maybe this time around people will accept a lack of content with the promise that in a few years there will be more. On paper it sounds reasonable, because it is, but unfortunately gamers aren't reasonable. We're currently witnessing this as well with people absolutely losing their minds about the possibility that for the next year or two or whatever we'll have smaller updates. This is very strange coming from these people because if we truly want D3 and for it to launch better than vanilla D1 and vanilla D2, then we'd have to let the devs work on that for years and not be occupied making constant huge updates for D2. More under:
Also! I know we would all love other playable races and that's definitely a big dream, but it will never happen as long as there's pvp in the game. Because of the hitboxes in pvp. As in, if they made playable Eliksni and Hive, they would be bigger than normal Guardians and it would not be possible to integrate them into pvp because of the natural disadvantage of having a bigger hitbox. Maybe if they did it in a way that genuinely just did not allow them into pvp modes, but that would be strange. The hitbox issue would also be a problem elsewhere too, even in pve. This is the most basic problem with this idea and a very difficult one to solve when the game is a first person shooter at its core. Other playable characters would be such a cool thing in Destiny though.
In a way, a lot of what we want can be done in the current game if the devs had time to work on a lot of fundamental changes and updates to the base game. It's just really difficult to do. They would probably need a dedicated year or more to do this, during which we wouldn't be able to get many updates. And this is less requirements than making a new game from scratch and risk a lot in the process.
I'm also wondering if both D1 and D2 could be kept around if they added a D3 as well. I feel like one of the old games would probably be shut down. This is definitely not possible with the reduced workforce, so unless they expand the studio again in the future, I don't think, realistically, we could get any of the positives with D3.
It's a discussion worth having for sure. Unfortunately it's dominated by the weird gamer bros and I genuinely don't think they understand anything about video games. There's this idea that "D3 would fix everything" and I simply don't understand what they're talking about because the same people are also the ones crying about content droughts, sunsetting, hit-and-miss features and activities and so on. And launching a brand new game would contain absolutely everything these people complain about every day. I've seen them also saying stuff like "I'd be okay with D3 if they don't make us repeat collecting everything again." And like. That's exactly what will happen. Do they think items will just be in their vault? No, we'll have missions again to re-earn the same exotics for the 5th time, just spaced out by years and then they'll be mad about how nothing new is being made and they're just reusing assets or whatever.
They could always just do a complete and total fresh start: nothing old is ever returned. No armour, no weapons, nothing. But people underestimate how much they'd miss their old builds and old options, and how new ones might end up not clicking with them all that much, but this time they wouldn't have anything old to fall back to. You know when a new weapon or exotic armour releases and they're brand new concepts? And they end up not really being something you connect to? You try it out, go "eh" and return to your old stuff? Imagine that but without the ability to go back to the old stuff. The idea of it is is exciting, but in execution it doesn't really work most of the time.
There's a lot of interesting angles when considering a potential new game, but I feel like at the end of the day, it's too big of an endeavour with a lot of very real risks that makes the whole thing not worth the effort. If anything, to make D3 into this perfect dream game right from the start, they would 100% need to just work on that for the next 5 years and we'd have to accept even fewer updates (if any) to D2 in the meantime. Otherwise we'll be in the same situation as with D2 launch and I know a lot of people don't remember or weren't there, but vanilla D2 was actually for real a time when Destiny almost died.
It's definitely something cool to speculate about, I just wish the weird gamers out there weren't completely hijacking this option while also doing everything in their power to tell devs that they have zero patience to wait for a good product, and that they can't survive 3 days without new content. Because that's just reinforcing the inherent risks with making a new game, on top of all the other risks involved and the potential that people will just not be willing to move away from what they've been collecting for years.
