It’s very interesting that you stopped supporting and talking about Dead Boy Detectives the moment it got canceled, not one post from you trying to help the actual fans save the show, support it coming back, ect nothing. I assumed it was because you and your friends (Lissy, Ashley, Swirly, Madison) finally stopped pretending that you liked it which seems like the case.

It’s just very telling the way you guys were the hype team of the show and instantly stopped talking when you didn’t have to fake it anymore.

As a longtime follower and friend I wish you actually enjoyed the show. It’s unfortunate.

Thank you for taking the time to write. I will now in detail address every single wrong assumption about it and I would simply advise while reading through this to remember that you sent in the ask and I owe to everyone the most honest answer I could possibly muster, thank you. Now, let's break this down assumption by assumption:

We stopped talking about DBD as soon as it got cancelled - that is entirely untrue. Even though, our original fandom is the Sandman we have all made the collective effort to continue talking about the show in the capacity that we wish to. If you indeed were a "friend" you would know I have not stopped showing active support for the cast of the show post cancelation as any normal person ought to.

Not a post to support the show coming back - Yes, and I will not because the show is not coming back. I am an adult. My life does not revolve around entertainment, I have a job and bills to pay. ALSO, the way this campaign to bring back the show is being handled is extremely poor. Several baffling choices are being made that interfere with my ethics and morals, and I have no desire to align myself with such choices. The internet is a free space, so please do continue to support what you wish, but my love for this show is my own and the same goes for my friends.

It appears the remaining supporters of the campaign fail to realise that in terms of numbers, the show DID fail by any and all metrics and are willing to blame everyone about it but the numbers. It is neither my nor my friends' fault that this was the case. We did our utmost best online and irl to promote it but it is also true that we exist in the reality that we exist and harbouring delusions about changing the world is not realistic for me at the big age of 20+. And if I do, those aspirations pertain to much larger issues than a show I absolutely earnestly enjoyed.

Name-dropping my friends is sweet to appear personable but I will reiterate the following point - Lissy, Ash, Swirly (who is no longer social media active at all), Madison and I, WE owe NOTHING to anybody. WE ALL went above and beyond (and still do, iykyk) to support this show. On that point, it is very important to note that bullying me, What's on Netlfix or any other indirect contributor of content as opposed to simply capitalism and Netlfix, is not very mature behaviour and it warrants inner reflection as opposed to outer aggravation.

We WERE the hype team, exactly. I'm glad that you recognise that. We were the most active people trying our utmost best to make sure the show gets renewed. But then again, we are free to return to our special interests, in our case the Sandman.

AND NOW let's talk about why we ACTUALLY stopped talking about it in the way you wish us too - the remaining fraction of the DBD fandom cannot decide whether you want the support of the Sandman fans or not. On one hand, you hold onto us as the bigger fandom that has more 'power' and wants us to help. On the other hand, ever since DBD was cancelled it has been non-stop harassment of Sandman fans - whether it would be spamming under a completely unrelated post, ridiculing the main IP for it 'being next on the chopping board' (which is very funny because we will not have a chopping board, we have one season and our show is wrapped up. The Sandman will be a grand total of 23 episodes it seems like). Like, it's almost as if we are not allowed to simply talk about our interests without aligning it with DBD which has been CANCELLED.

It's over. It's done. It is fucking sad, it is absolutely unfortunate. The Cat King is an extremely important character to me. I, personally, spent months promoting the show at conventions and it breaks my heart that this was a character that was so important to Lukas that he will never get to see through. BUT that's also how show business is- it's unfair and it's dirty and it's not always the way we want it to be.

I also believe that feeding into the delusion of renewal is unhealthy for the very talented cast of the show. You are pulling them back instead of grieving and accepting the circumstances. Allow them to move forward. If you truly LOVE DBD and its cast, you'll support them in their future endeavours without making it about DBD. I know my consciousness is absolutely clean because I have been doing that from the moment the show was cancelled (again, if ykyk).

We loved Dead Boy Detectives but we are adults. There is a large conversation that needs to be had about the way art gets trampled under the unforgiving foot of capitalism, but that will not change the current circumstances. It is an important conversation that I TOO BELIEVE IN. We all do. But I highly doubt, our characters are slandered because we don't wish to align ourselves with a campaign that doesn't align with our values.

I hope you use this as a form of reflection as opposed to a bouncing point for more arguments, because I simply have nothing more to add. Thank you.

I adore Kipp's speech in the book and the actor really brings it to life so well and really makes it shine (and the actor will really sell the joy at seeing what the goggles has to offer him)

I love Inspector Barnes so much and the handshake and "you're alright Lockwood" solid foundation

I love them walking off together (also how did the skull get back)

Golden hour my beloved, the ending narration which i do love I just wish it was a little better (see whichever post it was as I did talk about it more indepth earlier on) and cliffhanger my beloathed (fuck off Netflix)

Review: The Last Airbender Episodes 4&5

Why was Netlfix so hell-bent on adapting this show instead of making something new in the ATLA universe? Make a Kyoshi spin-off! Everyone would have been hyped to watch Kyoshi crush skulls between her thighs. Make some other avatar we’ve never heard of with complete freedom to do whatever you want with their story. The 100-year war can’t be the only conflict in the history of this world and the gap between Wan and… I believe Kuruk is the earliest-named Avatar in canon after him, is massive.

It would have been free from all the “the cartoon did this better” nitpicks and legit complaints.

If they wanted to Game of Thrones-ify it, they should have taken notes on how to deliver exposition. Opening the pilot spoiling the best reveals of season 1 would be like opening GoT with Jaime Lannister stabbing the Mad King with full context for why he did it, instead of waiting for that reveal when he’s confessing to Brienne.

“The Storm” was perfect, and you soiled it!

Season 1 of the original is the weakest in terms of consistency. This season has both “The Storm” and “The Great Divide”. It didn’t have the biggest budget and didn’t have the intense overarching story of 2 or 3 with the struggle over the Earth Kingdom and the climax with the Fire Nation.

So skipping and rushing a few episodes like “The Great Divide” or even “Bato of the Water Tribe” and just sifting out all the important beats wouldn’t have made too many complain. I didn’t have a huge problem with shoving 3 episodes worth of content into one menagerie because it still worked, even if it didn’t stick the landing.

But it just keeps going. If they hadn’t cut away to the Fire Nation scenes, maybe they could have reworked all this Omashu plot into one episode. I’m bored. I’d rather be annoyed, than be bored. Boredom is the cardinal sin of entertainment. They take forever in the Spirit World too with all these unnecessary flashbacks for Sokka and Katara.

Still don’t like Iroh. “It seems we are always getting on or off boats, perhaps that is our lot in life, Prince Zuko.” Wow. Sagely wisdom. I want that on a t-shirt. Totally.

*Side note: Couldn’t you keep any of the original episode titles? Name the premier “Boy in the Iceberg,” episode 2 “Warriors of Kyoshi”, episode 3 “Jet”, episode 4 “The King of Omashu”, episode 5 “The Winter Solstice”.

Aang’s conversation with Iroh in the crystal cave prison cells looks and feels like they stole it from “Crossroads of Destiny”, except that Aang is way more vitriolic than he should be. He gets indignant, but he never gets so judgemental.

When I said in my last review that these characters aren’t cartoonish enough — Bumi is supposed to be over 100 years old, as old as Aang. His actor looks 60. Costume is pretty, though and coding the kingdom of Omashu as Indian and the rest of the Earth Kingdom as Chinese implies they were their own kingdom for a very long time and got annexed so, kudos.

Bumi’s voice attempts to fill the cartoonish void but because everything else is so grounded, it’s just awkward. He got turned into a royal jerk, not just a crazy old man like he used to be. Also not letting the “Bumi” reveal happen, that even one of Aang’s ties to his old life is still kicking, is disappointing. This isn’t Bumi. Not to mention that Bumi, in season 1, would never let this happen to his city, or his prisoners of war. Manufactured drama is manufactured and we all noticed.

I am actually shocked they kept the hippies. Very well brought to life.

I didn’t mind episode 3 playing fast and loose with the episode order and content, but butchering the “Cave of Two Lovers” is a crying shame (and dragging it out of season 2, no less). The story of the two lovers (read by Katara, not the hippie whose name escapes me) was reflected in Katara and Aang’s journey through the caves. Romance has never been Avatar’s strong suit, but the episode was still entertaining. Now it reads like Katara and Sokka are the lovers, which is a *choice*, but no, they just bicker.

Iroh’s side plot with the Earth Kingdom soldiers, with this unnamed dude we don’t care about, certainly fills the more adult tone they insist on going for, it just doesn’t need to be here. Once again, the original got away with implication flawlessly, instead of preaching the horrors of war explicitly.

I can’t remember exactly, but Lu Ten was danced around as a topic until Iroh’s mini-sode in “Tales of Ba Sing Se”. We could see that he wasn’t all smiles, we knew the wacky uncle was a bit of a mask, but that episode showed you exactly who Iroh is when no one saw it coming. All this filler is just a whole lot of unnecessary scenes and dialogue hammering home a backstory done way better with far less.

And, that episode was in season 2. Once again, the writers can’t hold out on a mystery for anything.

*Side side note: For shame slipping a piano into the score! For shame! Get that Western percussion out of here. Maybe GoT is just on my mind thanks to that rumor, but the theme music for the Southern Water Tribe sounds a lot like the Winterfell theme in the beginning. Hell and gone from any asiatic influences.

“It wasn’t the crystals that guided Oma and Shu,” no, actually, it was. You just didn’t want to animate the wolfbats so you turned the gentle giant badger-moles into snarling beasts.

Oh, there’s Zuko’s sympathetic side in that flashback about Lu Ten. Nicely done, no notes. That’s the Iroh I want the entire season. I hear that Leaves from the Vine in the background.

Episode 5 opens with some ham-fisted exposition and wow, that was impressively bland. 

I… spoke too soon about omitting Bonzu Pipinpadaloxicopolis. My mistake. And I spoke too soon about enjoying Azula and Ozai. They’re both still great, they just don’t need to be here yet.

Because they have to make up scenes for these characters, they still say a whole lot of words without saying much at all – except that Ozai now randomly actually respects his son and chastises his daughter for mocking Zuko. That’s new. Ozai is all about “self-serving flattery and coy whispers.” Dude named himself the Phoenix King and invented a rank above Fire Lord for his own vanity. He would be a loser if he wasn’t so powerful.

Okay, the show got me. I actually laughed out loud when Zuko tried to bribe the Earth Kingdom tavern keeper and it didn’t work.

Nice to see they paid as much attention to the “Great Divide” as the Ember Island Players, but for shame about “The Waterbending Scroll.” That was a decent episode. They also skipped most of “The Fortune Teller” and carved out June and *man* is that some rushed CGI on Nyla.

Wan Shi Tong?! *checks notes* 20 episodes early?! His VA is great. Gravely goodness.

Iroh accidentally reads the script notes when he says “Zhao is already making his moves and we have yet to draw our tiles”. These two are aimless, leadless, and hitting plot points like potholes.

Regarding Aang dragging Sokka and Katara into the Spirit World with him, as far as I know only avatars and Iroh can enter the Spirit World. They don’t need to be part of these scenes. When I said the writers did their homework in the pilot, they must’ve read the SparkNotes for “The Winter Solstice”, and instead filled it with stolen flashbacks from season 3.

I take it back. I take back wanting to skip “Bato of the Water Tribe”. Hakoda never got the chance to do Sokka’s ceremony, that’s why it was Bato’s job, that’s why Sokka was left behind and so much older than the rest of the kids in the village, because he wasn’t a man yet. Are all these supposed to steal from “The Swamp”? They aren’t from season 1.

Koh looks great. That’s the best part of this whole over-long sequence. Koh. Even seeing Gyatso again doesn’t feel earned when this scene doesn’t need to exist. It’s not like Katara and Sokka are learning new information, nor are they the bridge between the worlds. Aang doesn’t quite feel like the “last airbender” if he can chat with Gyatso’s ghost whenever he wants, he’s supposed to be utterly alone, 100 years divorced from everything he’s ever known.

Gyatso’s speech is nice, if I extract it from its context.

This show is missing artistry. Some beautiful establishing shots and cinematography, scenes I can freeze-frame and stare at and turn into wallpaper – not to mention that once again, it’s too damn dark to see anything in night scenes.

Once again, the VFX is very obvious and distracting. I know the artists aren’t to blame, but, gee, had the whole thing been a cartoon, there wouldn’t be a need for realistic CGI.

Slamming all these episodes together like this makes them messy. The plot isn’t a meandering adventure filled with side-quests anymore. It’s not written like a show where you tune in once a week for a good time. It’s written like a bingeable Netflix property, and released all at once like one. They could have at least staggered the release to two episodes at a time.

I don't think I'm actually going to finish it. At least not now. I don't want to give Netflix the view thinking I watched beacuse I was invested. I wish it were as bad as the original movie, if only so I could make fun of it.

I’ve just watched and loved the TV series We Are Who We Are directed by Luca Guadagnino (director of Call me by your name) and it made me realized one thing i regret about Young Royals.

Don’t get me wrong i think YR has genius writing-acting-directing and i love it sm BUT i wish they could have take their time a bit more. I’m sure they’ve done their best with the time they had and the show is amazing as it is. But i hope more time would be given to them for season 2 in order to make more episodes/longer ones. Some scenes are cut early like the kissing scene in ep 2 or Wilhelm and Simon cheerfully walking on lake shores in ep 5. Other scenes are just very cut (a lot of different angles or just a longer shot cut into pieces to make it shorter), like scenes where Wilhelm walks alone outside at Hillerska. I’d love more sequence shots or just shots who linger a bit more even if it doesn’t bring more ‘action’. For instance I wanna see Simon getting up and getting dressed up and walking out of Wilhelm's room with his heart full of joy and the biggest smile on his face in ep 5. It won’t had anything to the story but it will allow us to connect even more with the characters and their feelings. Idk if it’s clear but ...i feel that a lot of productions (mainly on netlfix us tho) are made to be extra energetic with a fast rhythm but slow doesn’t mean boring or useless. And i regret some the deleted scene that we heard about : the one between Simon, Ayub and Rosh about the date weekend at Hillerska and what this invitation meant for Wilhelm, or the one between Wilhelm and Simon about consent (heard about it but not sure). Both wouldn’t have added any narrative material BUT they would have brought so much to character understanding and depth and emotions.

On that note, i can only enjoin you to watch We are who we are. It is a very unique teenage coming of age TV show. There is a truth and realness i haven’t seen or felt anywhere else. And the soundtrack is amazing omg. And the ending is beautiful, it won’t let you in tears with a broken heart as Young Royals did.

Ok I’m going to go in a different direction and say which fics I don’t want more attention for, which would be any of my weirder Richard fics or the Netflix/Old Guard Fandom BDSM fic. Because I’ve had a couple of people go from reading Ink & Ivy straight to those and getting whiplash (and potentially trauma) so... I am beyond overjoyed you want to read more of my work but it’s 100% safer if you sort by kudos and avoid anything that includes the Netlfix Geeked Week sex dungeon.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

Absolutely! I mean I always feel inadequate because I can never reply to comments as well as I can write fic, but that’s life I guess.

What sorts of things do you normally write?

Fluff, smut, crack, and the occasional longer AU.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Last time I got asked this I forgot I did actually have an angsty-ish fic, because normally I avoid angst like the plague. But Lowlands Away ends with Andy thinking about losing Quynh which is as angsty as I’ll ever likely get!

What's a fic that pushed you out of your comfort zone?

Take a Breath and Softly Say Goodbye, purely because it was by far the longest fic I’ve written. Also the Richard/Valerio sounding fic because... it’s a Richard/Valerio sounding fic.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you've written?

I do! They range from the relatively serious TOG but make it ancient Greek/Roman ones I’ve done to the weird-ass TOG Shadowhunters crossover I wrote for Julia’s birthday. It was written entirely with her in mind and as such is probably the nichest and weirdest thing I’ve written.

Nope, and likely never will. I feel like it’d be similar to playing doubles tennis, where I’d just worry about letting the other person down the whole time.

My Knight’s Tale AU for the Old Guard. It’s barely 1k atm, and there’s just so much to write and work out that I don’t think I’ll go back to it any time soon.

So much, I need WIP restraint, really. Besides my Bridgerton and Downton Abbey fics I have a sequel to The Blood and Sand Beneath Our Feet that’s racking up words quickly, a Nile-centric fic, and ofc the iceman!Nicky AU that’s going... slow. And then, because I love pain, I’m slowly picking up my original novel again and trying to get back into that.

I’ve been told it’s the authors notes I leave at the end of fics, but also Sarah reliably informs me it’s blowjobs.

What are your writing weaknesses?

That part when I’ve written all the interesting dialogue and action and have to work out how to fill in the rest. Agony.

astrology & upcoming changes in hollywood 🎬

While reading about the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike of ‘07/08, I took time to check out the astrology of that time and was pleasantly surprised how the transits supported and illustrated the strike. 

The following post will take a look at the transits that influenced the strike and the Golden Globes’ recent decision to cancel its 2022 awards ceremony in a protest against the HFPA who Netlfix, Amazon have also taken a stance against due to their lack of diversity in their voting members.

                                       Let’s get straight into this shit.

A little background info first : WGA announced a strike on Nov 2 ‘07 and the strike began on Nov 5th, the following Monday in attempt to gain increased funding for their writers which were significantly smaller compared to the profits that larger studios and producers in the country made. The strike was one of the longest for the guild and reportedly, the industry lost $500 million dollars to due productions stopping and forcing networks to show reruns.

The transits of that day (using Nov 5th when the strike actually started) that were most important were 

Saturn in Virgo at 6 degrees - as we know Virgo rules over workers and it’s ruling planet is mercury (writing). The double influence of Virgo with Saturn (limitations + larger organizations) showed there was some restructuring that needed to take place.

On the first day of the strike, Jupiter was transiting Sag at 20 degrees (20 = Scorpio deg = jealously / the writers were upset at the lack of funding they received compared to the other parts of the industry ) and moving towards Pluto which was also in Sag at 27 degrees (27 = Gemini = writing). They would make a conjunction in the sign sometime in mid December of that year. Jupiter and Pluto together ->  brought on a wave of upheaval which left plenty of productions put to a halt, productions that were viewed world wide (sag) and networks had no choice but to show re-runs of shows affected. Obvi, Jupiter expands everything it touches (good or bad) and unfortunately during the period the strike took place, not a lot of common folk realized the extent and depth of the issue.

Additionally, the north node was @ 3 degrees in Pisces (3 = Gemini + writing and Pisces = Neptune = film industry) was in opposition to Saturn. They felt a need for order in the workplace with Saturn touching the south node transit in Virgo.

And the cherry on top of the sundae, is the moon - venus conjunction in virgo that happened that first morning. 

In the beginning, Saturn was in the opposite sign of both Jupiter and Pluto’s transiting signs and by the time the strike ended, Jupiter and Pluto both went into Capricorn (Saturn's ruling sign) making a trine aka an easy aspect to Saturn in Virgo. The negotiations between the WGA and other party finally were agreed upon and the strike was able to end with rules and legislation (cap) that supported the writers (virgo). Remember Virgo traditionally rules the 6th house of work and its trine to the 10th house of career, public institutions trad. ruled by Capricorn.

As a writer myself, this is a big issue we can face. We watch actors like RDJ and the Rock earn $50 million for one movie and directors cashing in similar profits while the writers who create these stories have a greater chance of getting snubbed. They also are not really the face of the industry as that role is given to the prominent actors and filmmakers. Writers and other professionals in the industry are often forgotten and not visibly recognized.

Early 2021, saw The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) came under repeated backlash and fire for the lack of diversity in their members and for an email sent by a now - former member of the HFPA that called the BLM movement a “racist hate movement”, to other members. In addition to other actions that were made by this former member ( I rlly wanna call him an ass***), they tried to take action by promising a reform that would bring in inclusive policies and more members of colour specifically black voting members. However, groups like NBC, Netflix, Amazon, WarnerMedia and others made arguments that the proposed changes were not enough to tackle the inclusion challenges in the industry AND it would not be completed soon enough to reflect in the 2022 GG broadcast. The HFPA ultimately decided to cancel the 2022 Golden Globes Ceremony and made this statement:

"change of this magnitude takes time and work, and we feel strongly that the HFPA needs time to do it right"

The HFPA made this history making decision on May 10 ‘21

This acc happened a day before the new moon in Taurus went exact. (note: the moon was in Taurus on this day as well) New moons represent new beginnings and Taurus is associated with - slow & steady. As a result of the arguments and concerns that were brought forward, the change that the HFPA thought was appropriate was actually going to take longer than they believed. Look back at the above quote [ needs time to do it right ] That’s very much Taurus new moon energy right there.

Saturn was transiting Aquarius at 13 degrees. 13 - Aries (first) aqua (groups of ppl specifically marginalized communities) This was the first taste of karmic actions that organizations such as the HFPA have to fix and correct to include equality and inclusion of less represented individuals in an industry that has incredibly dense roots in whiteness and patriarchy. This was the first time that an awards show was cancelled to address this issue.

Jupiter was transiting the final degree of Aquarius (29 deg = Leo) and with Jupiter representing opportunities, this was symbolic of black people (aqua = different/ marginalized groups) getting the chance to be equally represented in the entertainment (leo) industry. 

Coincidentally, on both the dates of the HFPA announcement and the WGA strike, mars was in its detriment sign - Cancer - This transit could bring about strikes and fighting with groups of a close belonging. Take a look at the writers on strike. They were a close knit group of ppl (aka family) within their industry or community who helped defend each other and defend against limitations (Capricorn/Saturn) that threatened their livelihood and security (cancer).

I have an additional interpretation of the mars in cancer transit however (idc if ppl get mad) SOOO imo and from what I’ve read, white ppl are ruled by the moon/cancer and the book of rulership suggests that black ppl are ruled by Capricorn/Saturn. Now when mars was in cancer in 2007, Pluto was in sag which is inconjunct from the sign mars was in (cancer). Sag = other cultures, international -------- The conflict affected not only the country that the strike took place in but many parts of the world that consumed American media. Note: this was also media that majorly represented white Americans (ruled by cancer). Now fast forward to 2021: Pluto has been in Capricorn since ‘08 - a time which marked a visible rise of black achievement in the US (Obama becoming president, black voices being given bigger platforms and so much more) and heavy discussions and protests revolving around the growing violence and systemic oppression against African Americans (BLM, Trayvon Martin) Capricorn is opposite to Cancer so with the recent mars in cancer transit that was opposing pluto in cap we saw actions that needed to be taken to bring about change and mars in cancer moves slow to make those changes and really only makes changes and takes action based on comfort and now  with pluto in its opposite sign being like “cmon bitch move yo ass” changes are finally slowly coming together. Pluto defo destroys and rebuilds but leaves what needs to be kept.

My take on what could happen as Pluto leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius, we could see the film industry being left and cared for by the general masses. Pluto in Leo brought the control of the industry to a select few and the nepotism in the industry that exists today was fortified. We could really start to see everyday ppl, really different ppl outside of the “norm” brought to prominence. Neptune’ future transit into Aries will help strength this change. (aries = first). Things you can do to help Anne With An E be Renewed

There are so many different ways big and small you can help in the fight to get Anne With an E renewed. I’ll do my best to compile all the ways you can contribute.

1) One of the easiest ways to let networks know there is a demand for more Anne With an E is to request it on their help page. Request Anne with an E season 4 so they know you want the show to continue. There is also no limit to the number of times you submit requests.

2) Watch Anne with an E on Netflix. Just constantly stream it in the lead up to the season 3 premiere. When the show premieres Jan 3rd make sure you stream the new season that day and in the days after. Not only do we want Netflix to know that the new season has a big audience, but we also want as many people watching at the same time for the show to make it to the “Popular on Netflix” category. New people may be attracted to the show if they see it is popular on Netflix.

3) Write emails to Networks. Netflix and CBC are not the only options when it comes to Networks that could renew Anne with an E, since it seems that the rights to the show are currently owned by Northwood Entertainment the production company behind Anne with an E. Many other fans have done the hard work of compiling lists of emails of network executives. I will provide links to various tweets I have seen with important emails. 4) Write emails to magazines, newspapers, websites, etc. Any form of Press about Anne with an E will draw attention to the show from people who may not have heard of it before. You could write emails to ask them to cover the news of the show's cancellation, to review the new season, to discuss certain topics the show addresses that set it aside from other shows and more. Anything that you could dream up that could be an article that could be written about Anne With an E you could pitch the idea to someone to write about. 

5) Appealing to other fandoms with similar interests. Two big movies that are about to drop that have an audience that may be interested in a show like Anne With An E, would be Little Women and P.S. I Still Love You (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel). Little Women is also a period piece with a feminist heroine, so you could point out the similarities in the stories’ themes to appeal to fans of that film (which premieres Dec. 26th). For P.S. I Still Love You, the big connection is that in the third book of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy, Forever and Always, Lara Jean,  Lara Jean states that Gilbert Blythe is her ideal man. Screenshots of this quote have been going around all over tumblr and twitter since the P.S. I Still Love You trailer dropped. The selling point could be that if you enjoy the films and relate to Lara Jean then you should check out the stories and adaptions of those stories that Lara Jean considers peak romance. ( It also helps that the premise of the films relies on love letters and AWAE season 3 features love letters as well). When entering into other fandoms tags to recommend Anne With An E make sure you are always being RESPECTFUL and don’t just spam the tags with Anne promotion. You could always create side by side edits of the two programs to demonstrate how similar they are. Basically, make sure your posts in their tag don’t seem like a blatant promotion for AWAE.

6) Rate Anne with an E on IMDb. (Note: It is listed as Anne(2017) on IMDb). Right now Anne is listed in Top 250 TV Shows, but it is toward the bottom of the list at #248, with an average show rating of 8.4 stars. If enough fans rate it, the show could move up on the list, which may attract new people to watch the show. You can rate the show overall, and rate each episode individually. Plus you can leave a review. 

7) Watch the Anne With An E Netflix trailer and share it with others. The more views on the trailer the better. The trailer is available on Youtube and Instagram. On twitter, people are organizing trailer boosting parties for Dec 23rd - Dec 30th.

This can also be done on reddit search “What to watch” , “Netflix recommendations” , “Period Piece” and comment on any of the relevant results with Anne With An E.

10) Tell EVERYONE you know to watch Anne With an E. A great way to spread the popularity of the show is by word of mouth. People trust the opinions of people they know, so your friends and family are more likely to listen to your recommendations than strangers on the internet (but there is no harm in trying #9 anyway). 

11) Continue to be your amazing creative selves. Gif sets, fanart, video edits, memes, etc. All of these can help attract new fans to the show, so continue to create and post things related to Anne With An E.

12) Make bookmarks or small promotional posters and leave them in public places. I have seen a trend of this on twitter and it's not a bad idea. One amazing fan even took it to the next level and made tiny posters that have QR codes on it that when scanned takes people to the Anne with an E trailer or the show on Netflix. Resuming Updates

Hi everyone~!

I hope everyone is safe and healthy. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to interact and make sure you guys are doing well.

First off, I want to thank you for the overwhelming support and love I’ve gotten this past week.

It’s been a stressful week for my family, given the death, but we’re doing okay. I got tons of love, and it meant a lot to receive supportive messages during a time like now - especially given the circumstances we’re all in.

I think the year 2020 as a whole has been super rough, and not just for me, but for everyone. 

I mourned, and I think I’m ready to get back into the groove of things because having a schedule and something to work towards and engaging with you guys does bring a smile to my face.

Expect updates to resume sometime next week; Limerence (the double update) being first to drop, then Eden.

I’ll try to play catch-up as best as possible, but I’m not going to overwhelm myself or rush any projects.

Quality over quantity has always been my rule.

On a other note, I hope everyone is enjoying watching ATLA on netlfix!

I’ve seen so much fun discussions and reactions, some old-school fans and new fans coming together! That saying, as much as fun as we’re all having, unfortunately some old ‘ship wars’ have been brought to light.

As you all know, I love a good discussion, raising points and seeing other people’s ideas, I want my blog to be a safe place where anyone can ship whoever they want, it doesn’t matter.

So in light of that, any asks regarding ships (in particular Zutara and Kataang) I’ll be holding off from answering.

It’s in no ways because I don’t wish to answer them (so please don’t think that), but I don’t want to bring unnecessarily attention to myself or any of you guys.

It’s one thing if I receive slander involving me or my story, but if any of my readers gets insulted for liking/disliking a particular ship, whelp - momma bear is coming out. 

After a few days pass, I’ll answer them (the heat of the moment will have hopefully died). I just don’t want anyone here thinking I’m ignoring their ask!

“We clicked, at least we did”

It’s been a year since my last post. I just to reactivate my tumblr account so that I could openly share what happened and where I am already.

I am currently with a new employer now. Much of the work is manageable and I can easily adapt on the environment that they have. I’ve been with them for a year now.

Covid 19 came all of a sudden. Most of the people all around the world are working from home and I am thankful up to this time that my current employer wanted us to do the wfh to proctes us. Ofc, lots of people are bored and they did try to play games, watch netlfix every now and then and install dating apps. I did all of those three and there you go, I met the man on the picture. We can say that we get along well, we have same interest and we clicked. It’s just like I found the male version of myself! Ngl, I am into him. We met and we spend the night together. It was just a chill night, netflix and lots of food coming in from the restaurant we dine and from the deliveries. Lots of stories as well and hugs. I did really enjoyed that day. The next day, we parted. Two days after that, we decided to call it quits. He is not ready to commit.

He is not ready to commit. I thought we are on the same page. I thought we clicked, what happened? Will I be losing him? And I did. The pain that I felt during those times were unbearable. It’s like my heart crashed so so hard that it kills me inside. It is really painful. He kept mentioning before that I should place my bet on him. I DID! but he didn’t.

Unfair, that’s the word I was looking. But now that I’ve been through enough rest, I am thinkng that it’s okay if we didn’t continue what we have, at least we discovered it this early and no more memories to create. However, I am missing him from time to time because we tend to play everynight, watch netflix together and ofc call while watching and playing. It’s like my routine and now I’m having some difficulties to adjust. But I know that someday everything will be okay again and I know I learned alot from this.

Take this note my friends, don’t let your guard down so easily because someone showed up and they tend to be the male/female versions of yourself. Always, always take the long process. Always make sure that you really know each other that deep. And never chase the people who left you when you needed them the most.

Rant, but please take note:

No, I will not be Netflix Witcher compliant. The way I write Dandelion is based on my take of him from the books and somewhat from the games. That doesn't mean I won't write with anyone who prefers the Netlfix take on certain characters, but my Dandelion has more depth to him than Netflix gave him. His relationship with Geralt has more depth than Netflix gave it. I prefer how he looks in TW2 more than 1 or 3, but I will always treasure his appearance in the books more. I will never use Joey Batey as his faceclaim. I will, however, use Christopher Mason.

What We Know Production-Wise about Fate: The Winx Club Saga

NOTE: Information on production comes from this Aerajugones article released on August 1st. The article is in Spanish, so you’ll need GoogleTranslate if you don’t use Chrome

The series has gone into pre-production, announced by Netflix’s French Twitter account (their replies are also hilarious, if you feel like going through the thread).

Brian Young has been announced as showrunner for the series. He has written extensively for CW’s The Vampire Diaries (referred to as The Vampire Chronicles in the article, likely due to translation issues), and has a single-episode writer’s credit for ABC Family’s Kyle XY.  This will be his first series acting as showrunner.

Judy Counihan has been announced as executive producer.  She appears to be based out of the UK, and has been in TV and film for over 20 years. She has worked on dozens of films and television series, including 2 Oscar-winning films (No Man’s Land and Antonia’s Lie, both won in the category of ‘Foreign Film’).

The overall series will be produced by Archery Pictures, a UK-based film company.  Their most recent production is Sky Atlantic’s Riviera. Archery’s founder, Kris Thykier, was a producer on the 2010 comedy movie Kick-Ass (yes, really. The guy responsible for Kick Ass is now in charge of Winx Club).

Filming will be done primarily in Ireland, and is scheduled to begin in the next few months. The cast has not been announced.  Filming is expected to take 6-12 months, depending on scheduling.

Netflix will distribute the series.  Iginio Straffi and Rainbow at this time have no direct part in production. An article from a French gaming website has said Netlfix ordered 3 seasons of 10 episodes running 1 hour each, but honestly idk about the legitimacy of the site overall. Take it with a grain of salt.

Though said to be called Fate: The Winx Club Saga, the series could go through a name change and I hope to God it does because that is a mouthful and not catchy at all

17 year old finds out if LOVE really is BLIND (watching the first episode of LOVE IS BLIND)

Hey, it’s Dana!

Obviously being a teenager I don’t have the advanced knowledge about love and true love that my parents or anyone older than me has (so my opinion may not be *that* in depth or informative). However, what I do know is that I enjoy reviewing new shows and Netlfix has introduced a series called LOVE IS BLIND which is basically a social experiment trying to come to the conclusion of whether people, who have never seen each other before, can actually end up finding true love in one another. 

Basically, this is just Netlfix’s version of another dating show like 90 Days Fiance (which I religiously watch with my mum), Take Me Out, and Come Dine With Me. All of which, I seem to enjoy purely for the drama I guess.

So, read on to find the answer to the question of whether love is truly blind...!

That’s a really nice shot...almost for a movie so it seems a bit wasted for a dating show, maybe.

So all these contenders do seem quite open minded about finding love without actually seeing the person.

While I do understand that many dating apps are toxic in the sense that you have to be someone’s physical type in order to get swiped, when you may end up having a great and compatible personality. However, physical appearance still matters and if people decided to date (or even marry, as they’re going to do in this show) before actually seeing someone, you might end up becoming dissatisfied and there is also the possibility of catfishing.

Obviously, in this show, they’re under conditions where everyone will be a reasonable age to date but if this is applied to real life then just about anyone could catfish you. And, if I’ve watched Catfish enough, there is an abundance of catfishers in the world (and people question why I have trust issues????).

Also, I don’t know about everyone else but, somehow when you end up liking someone - they instantly become 10x hotter so...

Lol, okay, so I’m not 30 but I’m pretty sure there are a lot of men who do want commitment at that age...and then there’s a lot of men who don’t. However, you would think that it would be the same for women because not all women want to commit themselves.

(Maybe Ebony just needs to search in other places...)

On a side note: I am wondering whether this is just going to be a test for heterosexual couples because I’m pretty sure homosexual people find it hard to find dates too (just saying).

Awwwwwww, the short guy struggle!

Being a short girl myself, most guys are taller than me so I don’t think height has ever been a problem for me. Nevertheless, I will truthfully admit that I probably won’t date a guy who’s shorter than me because it’ll just make me feel weird and that’s probably to do with societal norms that men should always be seen as stronger and taller. There’s also the fact that hugging would be a bit awkward (are we all following or is this just me???) because I’d prefer to be wrapped up in a tall guys arms than having to wrap a short guy in my arms. And the same probably goes for the other way around with tall girls (lol watch Tall Girl to understand the struggle).

Yes, it sounds insensitive but it’s the honest opinion of the majority (or at least what I’ve heard). If you don’t care about height, well, good for you because you are part of that small minority that doesn’t.

Being an English student it does annoy me when I realise that I feed into societal expectations and societal norms because we, as a society (have I said society already???), should attempt to break those norms and become individuals that don’t succumb to judgement of others. Sadly, I have to admit, that these preferences and discriminations does impact my opinions (and everyone else’s opinions) no matter how open I attempt to be. 

On the positive side, recognising that we do feed into these discriminative behaviours will make us aware of when we are exercising these prejudices.

I don’t know about you but voices do play a part in choosing who you want to date because you’re going to be listening to them all day so they might as well have a good voice.

This guy, has that good voice. Seriously, it’s like actual melted chocolate whenever he speaks so if he has a good personality to go with that voice then I think a lot of girls will be after him.

Why does that blue wall divider look like it can blend into the set from H2O Just Add Water???

That is true; Cameron may talk as if he’s evaluating candidates for a job but he does have a nice voice. It’s quite calm and deep, as if he doesn’t seem like the type to shout.

At first I was a tad bit sceptical about their relationship with it being a tad bit robotic but that’s probably because they needed time to adjust and get rid of the awkwardness. The real serious talk where they cried together is what sold me. Cameron truly seems like a sensitive and down to earth guy and that’s exactly what Lauren deserves!

So episode 1 just left me on a bit of a *cliffhanger* (that I should have seen coming) so I’m just going to go onto the start of the next episode to see how Cameron and Lauren ended (because that’s all I care about right now, not gonna lie).

Okay, good, they do seem to like what they see. Yay.

Ah okay so that’s the ending (well not the ending of their story because the rest of the series does end up following them up until the wedding where things do seem to get a bit dramatic, for TV purposes of course).

I’m just quite happy for Lauren and Cameron because they do seem to have a connection that is strong and I hope that they do end up getting married despite the racial divide because black women should feel comfortable dating white men and vice versa!

As for everyone else, I feel as though the love triangle between, Jessica, Barnett, and Mark is going to be overplayed for dramatic purposes but I don’t want Mark to get hurt (and I feel as though that’s where this is heading - my poor baby). No one else has really stood out to me (apart from the army girl) so I might watch the next few episodes to see what happens.

So if you like to watch dramatic dating shows, science, and relatively attractive people then watch LOVE IS BLIND on Netflix.

(Also, it only struck me now, and I’m sad that i didn’t notice it before, but everyone is to some degree relatively good looking so there’s not many people who seem as though someone would be massively displeased by their appearance. I guess that if you want to see people get massively displeased then watch the Undateables. This show, however, obviously selected these good looking people for the aesthtetic so i don’t neccessarily think it’s a good science experiment but for entertainment and reality TV drama, yes.)

OH MY GOD I WAS LITERALLY THINKING THE OTHER DAY HOW FRICKEN CUTE THIS WOULD BE SO THANK YOU FOR REQUESTING THIS!!!

Edwin had the day off for the first time in a while, so you both took the chance to spend the day together. You had woken up not long ago and had just finished eating breakfast, lingering at the kitchen table.

You noted Edwin examining his nails, picking at the last spots of nail polish that had been left on them from the last time he painted them.

“Wanna repaint them?” you asked him, reaching over and taking his hands in yours, running your fingers along his nails.

“Yeah!” he exclaimed, looking up at you and smiling.

“Can I do it?” you asked eagerly.

“Of course,” he smiled, “you’re probably way better at it than I am anyway, I always get it all over the place.”

You jumped up excitedly, running to your room and getting out all your nail polish, sprawling it across the bed. Edwin walked in behind you, laughing at how excited you were over painting his nails.

“What color?” you asked, looking at all of them and then back at him to decide what would look best.

“What about dark blue?” you asked, “you always do black so maybe keep it dark but change it.”

“Dark blue sounds perfect,” he nodded, taking the bottle in his hands and looking at it before handing it over to you.

You took his hand in yours and went back down to the table you had in your living room, sitting down in front of it as Edwin sat across from you, still smiling at your overwhelming excitement.

You put Netlfix on for background noise and started taking off the leftover nail polish he had on before opening the bottle, leaning down so you could have a better look.

You dragged the brush across his nail, smiling as you painted it.

“It looks so good!” you squealed, “do you like?”

Edwin pulled his hand back and looked at the color, telling you that he loved it before putting his hand back down. The truth was, you could have painted it any color and he still would have said that he loved it just because he loved how much you were enjoying it. He loved it mainly because you loved it.

You continued, biting your lower lip in concentration, humming to yourself as you went across the rest of his fingers, cursing yourself when you got it on his skin but quickly fixed it. When you were done one hand you sat up, looking at it and smiling proudly.

“Looks great!” you grinned, motioning for him to give you his other hand, which he did happily.

“You look so cute with painted nails,” you told him.

“Not as cute as you look painting them,” he said back, making you blush slightly as you began to repeat the same process on his left hand.

“Maybe a little too excited, huh?” you asked, laughing at yourself as you focused on painting the other hand, loving the way the polish glistened under the light that was above your head.

“Never,” he said, shaking his head, “I love when you get excited over small things, it’s cute.”

“You’re cute,” you said as a response, usually instead of taking compliments you just shot them back at him.

You finished the other hand and pulled out your phone, telling him to stay still while you snapped a picture, quickly posting it on your story and tagging Edwin. 

You leaned down and began blowing on them lightly, even though you knew the effect that had on actually drying them was probably very minimal. Edwin lifted his hands up and began waving them around in attempts to dry them as well, making you chuckle at how silly he looked flailing his hands and arms around.

“Can I paint yours next?” he asked, tilting his head to the side as he waited for your answer.

“Definitely,” you nodded, “couples who paint each other’s nails stay together.”

You guys hurried back to your room and you looked back down at Edwin’s nails, proud of the job you had done, loving how they matched the outfit he had chosen that day.

“What color for me?” you asked, extending your arms so your hands were in front of the array of colors.

“What about pink?” he asked, picking up a bright bottle from the bed, “or we could match.”

“You decide,” you told him.

“Let’s match,” he smiled, kissing your cheek as you both went back to the living room, feeling like little kids painting each other’s nails at a sleepover.

You grinned as you watched him paint yours, putting more concentration into it than you did with him, wanting to make them perfect for you.

“This is cute,” you smiled when he was done, looking at your matching nails.

“Best way to spend a day off,” he smiled before kissing you, careful not to mess up your nail polish
