Why are you shaming people for kink? Did you forget this was fandom and not Sunday service?

so like here's the thing: i'm sure there are people out there who genuinely just want buddie to be into petplay, and whatever, that's fine. it's not my thing, i don't really engage with it for any of my ships, but as you said—no kinkshaming. i don't have a problem with those people, i'm not criticizing those people.

but the "buck is a dog, he needs to be trained, eddie needs to keep him on a leash, he needs to go to obedience school and go through clicker training" stuff? the post i saw this morning that started this whole thing mentioned buck potentially dying and eddie being all "oh you nearly killed my dog!!!" not his partner, not his friend, not even his coworker: his dog. and i really do think that speaks volumes about how a certain subset of the fandom talks about buck: treating him like he's too stupid to exist or do his job unless he's being "cared for" or "trained"? the way he's fetishized in fanon as eddie's housewife or christopher's mom? i think i'm fully allowed to criticize that if i want to, actually.

and frankly, at this point, it no longer even feels like a kink: it feels like people taking buck, removing every actual trait he has, and turning him into a paper doll that they can project onto. it feels like hiding that behind kink so they can screech about kinkshaming and act like they're being repressed when people don't like their opinions. just write a goddamn oc.

you want to yell at me for kinkshaming for being upset at how they treat my favourite character? sure. it's a bad faith argument but go for it, i guess. i've been in fandom spaces on and offline for over twenty years; i've been active in the kink community (like, the real one. offline. where there's actual people) for around ten. i am not fucking new to any of this. but i've never seen such a vocal part of a fandom engage with a character they supposedly enjoy this way.

anyway. as i've said before, and will probably say again, i don't have any issue with buddie itself, or people who ship it. i did ship it when i first got into 911, i find the dynamic compelling in a lot of ways. honestly, i'm a multishipper at heart, but in this fandom i'm a buck girlie first and foremost and it genuinely pisses me off that i can't enjoy buddie anymore because of the way he's treated.

I absolutely loved your IF of Viatica, must say my clear favorite is the little bird, Robin. (>ᴗ•) ! .

So then I decided to check your other projects. The April fools one was absolutely hilarious, Keiko learning brain rot , Heron banging his head on the door, the MC's dad being a menace.

And then I eventually tried your newest IF, the one that everyone has been talking about recently, Cantata. It's so GOOD! I loved the story and the thing about the cordis, I picked the Air attribute, and receiving a fan as a weapon is SICK! Like how elegant can your combat get? All the characters are unique and interesting in their own ways, especially Calliope, Vicente and Tellus.

Ah yes Tellus... we have a dilemma here, I feel so bad for the MC- (ㅠ﹏ㅠ).

My boy is probably breaking down and the water works are gonna release any time soon, poor Evelyn is in panic and is stiff as a statue, and if I were in that situation, I would probably freeze and mentally break down inside and overthink- or if I was crazy enough run to a window and hop out because this is a tense situation brother. Can't wait for chapter 4, your work is truly inspiring!

I need baby drag queen Steve being mentored by Billy. Like he’s so confused. Got kicked out of daddy’s house for putting on lipstick and his mother’s heels. He doesn’t think he’s a girl - he’s not trans. Maybe? He doesn’t know. He just knows he likes how certain things feel, makeup on his eyes, the flowy hem of a skirt against his thighs. But it’s always been forbidden. Taboo. He can’t have those things without certain labels - consequences. Like getting kicked out of his parents house with no job and no prospects to speak of.

I need him to land at some out of the way bar, spending his last few dollars on a cheap meal and indoor heating. It’s drag night and Billy’s the headliner - whole crowd buzzing in anticipation for some queen named Cherry Lane. Billy kills it. He’s so enthralling, and Steve barely breathes through the entire first song. And it’s only when Billy speaks that recognition slams through him. That’s Billy Hargrove. Cherry Lane. Fucking duh.

I need Billy, suspicious and snarly at first because what the fuck is Harrington doing here and looking at him like that. But when he finds out Steve is basically living out of his car he lets him cash on the couch and before too long he realizes the way Steve looks at him is about want, and not just wanting Billy’s body. I need Billy teaching Steve how to do his makeup and giving him shit for his terrible taste in clothes - he always ends up looking like a Real Housewife of Jersey Shore - and I need them to kiss and cuddle and fuck when they’re not being a bitchy dynamic duo.
