i think i recall some info you've posted about suicide hotlines, sorry if i've mixed you up with someone else. with the lgbt youth silo being disbanded under 988 next month, do you think it'll have an impact on people? part of me wants to believe if 988 sucks then who cares. but if lgbt youth have been helped by this subservice then it's another kick in the teeth.

Yeah probably was me you were thinking of, I've posted quite a bit about the problems with 988 in terms of all the ways they collaborate with cops, do "nonconsensual active rescue" and involuntarily hospitalize people.

And honestly this is one of the reasons I said from the beginning that I didn't think hotlines such as the Trevor Project and other independent hotlines should have became part of the 988 network. Mostly because I think that 988 is a deeply unethical hotline and I don't think that other hotlines should have agreed to uphold the mandatory nonconsensual rescue policies that are required to become part of the 988 network, but also because then their operation becomes even more closely tied to federal funding and federal policy changes, and it opened the door to something like this happening.

I certainly don't think it's good that the fed government specifically cut this service and are signaling that they don't care about supporting suicide prevention for LGBTQ and specifically trans youth, but I also don't think the solution to that is pouring more money into unethical hotlines or lobbying into getting this service back into 988. I think the solution is supporting independent hotlines like the trans lifeline or thrive lifeline that don't collaborate with cops, trying to direct more funding to them so that they can support an increased influx of calls, and sharing those hotline numbers so that more LGBTQ youth are aware there are other LGBTQ hotline services out there. I also think there should be more of an organized effort to get other hotlines to quit working with the cops, quit working with 988, and implement the crisis callers bill of rights.

This is remake of my original version from 2022 when it was just a few Cartoon Network shows like Clarence, OK K.O! Let's Be Heroes, and Infinity Train among others removed from the streaming service.

As time went on and many more Cartoon Network shows were purged from the service before and after HBO Max's rebranding to Max, even Dexter's Laboratory (the very first Cartoon Network original series) and Steven Universe (one of the greatest modern CN shows), I knew I had to make a new version to present with Max reverting its name back to HBO Max to get my critique out with the "reverted" rebrand launched.

I started yesterday on June 2 after finishing my latest trailer style video. I started creating more characters in the row that were from shows that were removed from HBO Max/Max during Warner Bros. Discovery's start.

After all the characters were done, I started added text for the words on the sign Bridgette (Close Enough) is holding to express my hope and concern for the future of the rebranded HBO Max and bringing back all these purged Cartoon Network shows.

This was finished on June 3.

I thought about posting this on the same day Max was relaunched as HBO Max, but I figured I'd get it out there now than later.

This is the first time Time Squad has been available on a legal streaming service in a very, very long time. From the looks of it, the episodes are in high quality as well. This is huge news!!

2025 Supported Org Umbrella: organizations serving vulnerable LGBT people

For the past five years, FTH has supported one “umbrella” cause: we invite participants to donate to their own local grassroots organization, while also suggesting a handful of exemplary organizations working in communities where the need is especially acute. This year, our umbrella category is community organizations serving and supporting vulnerable members of the LGBT community.

It goes without saying that the challenges facing the LGBT community under the incoming administration are numerous, from attacks on gender-affirming care to the rollback of hate speech protections on social media. The anti-trans and anti-queer goals of project 2025 are a chilling read. Meanwhile, a disproportionate number of queer youth and adults experience homelessness and housing insecurity, with trans, Native/Indigenous, and multiracial youth being particularly vulnerable. The needs are great across the spectrum, and intersect with every area of life.

There are dozens of small, local organizations working to support the LGBT community, including:

Sherlock’s Homes Foundation provides housing, employment opportunities, and a loving support system, for homeless LGBTQ+ young adults in which these young adults learn about responsibility, accountability, financial independence, life skills, but most of all how to love themselves.

The Kentucky Health Justice Network has been on our list before for their support of reproductive rights including abortion, but they are also active in advocating and assisting the trans community, working to provide access the healthcare they need, as well as reaffirm their autonomy and community.

Brave Space Alliance is a Black-Led, Trans-Led LGBTQ+ Center that strives to 'empower, embolden, and educate each other through mutual aid, knowledge-sharing, and the creation of community-sourced resources as we build toward the liberation of all oppressed peoples.'

Trans Queer Pueblo works to provide a safe space for LGBT migrants of color in Arizona. They create community solutions to meet basic needs, cultivate the leadership of LGBT people of color to transform needs into community power, and fight for social justice for all.

TransFamily Support Services guide transgender/non-binary youth and their families through the gender transitioning process to help make it the most positive experience possible.

You can support any of these orgs as a creator in the 2025 FTH auction (or as a bidder, when the time comes to donate for the auctions you’ve won.) Alternately, you can find and support an organization in your own community that fits under this umbrella!

It was snowing in the quaint town with an ocean view. Since the townsfolk weren’t used to such snowy weather, they all stayed indoors, leaving Mingi’s delivery service to be on hold until the snow cleared up. Granted, he would’ve still done it since his main transportation was a broom, but then again, he had to counter in the fact that perhaps the snowy weather would intensify. The last thing Yunho, his boyfriend, wanted was to have the witch be stuck in the snow. Speaking of Yunho, he was currently staying with Mingi since the snow was so heavy that he couldn’t walk through it even if he tried. It felt like he swapped places with you since you were currently somewhere else and in that different place, you were forced to stay in until the snow cleared up. Not that you didn’t mind of course. 

After all, you had a hot man to look out for you. 

Choi San was a cat hybrid whom you bumped into when you were giving Yunho and Mingi some privacy as they were sharing their first kiss. In the time that you got to know him, you learned that San was adopted by the rich couple that settled down in this quaint town when they retired. 

Mr. Park Seonghwa and his husband, Mr. Kim Hongjoong. 

You’ve seen them around before when you went with Mingi to make deliveries, yet you’ve never seen San around before. You figured he must’ve been recently adopted, but that was beside the point. In the time that you two were together, you found yourself falling for him and were relieved when he felt the same way. When it started snowing, San was more than happy to keep you in his arms until it let up. Seonghwa and Hongjoong were more than happy to keep you around as well. They were fond of you and assured Mingi that you will be well taken care of. Currently, you were in the kitchen making hot cocoa for you and San. As you carried the mugs, you saw where he was sitting and it made you panic a bit. 

He was sitting by that weird place with a huge fire blazing inside it. 

Truth be told, you weren’t used to fireplaces. The only time you’d somewhat been near a fire was either near the coal furnace sitting in the corner of your master’s home or the brick oven Wooyoung used to bake bread and pastries. To have San casually laying on the couch and swishing his fluffy white tail dangerously near the fireplace made you feel a bit apprehensive. Despite the multiple assurances that he was ok, you couldn’t help but be afraid of him hurting himself. 

“You do realize that this is the perfect time and weather for stories near the fire. Right, kitty?”

You chuckled nervously and nodded slowly as you neared him carefully, setting the mugs of hot cocoa down on the coffee table and sitting at a distance where you were still near him yet you were away from the fireplace. Even though you were shivering, you remained adamant in not sitting near the fire. San’s excited smile dropped when he subtly smelled the nerves on you. He sighed lightly and grabbed your waist before pulling you close to him. He wrapped his arms around you and kissed the side of your head before laying it on his chest. Hearing his steady heartbeat made you relax. 

“I’ll be ok, kitty. And I’ll make sure to protect you.”

The softness and reassurance in San’s voice made your heart swell with adoration. Even though deep down, you knew you were going to outlive San, you would make sure that you spend your life with him by your side. You snuggled closer to him and left a light kiss on his jaw, to which he hummed in content since he loved those types of kisses from you. 

“What tales do you want to regale, hmm? I actually want to know the story of how Mr. Mingi found you.”

You nodded in agreement before proceeding to retell the story of how you met your master. As you droned on and on, the fire dimmed down slowly yet you didn’t care. You kept talking and he kept listening. It truly was the perfect time to cozy up by the fire. When you finished, San couldn’t stop giggling and gushing about how your story was truly endearing. You blushed and thanked him for his kind words before letting out a small yawn. The warmth the fire provided left you feeling sleepy and San noticed this. He adjusted your position so your head was tucked in the crook of his neck and he could tighten his hold on you. He leaned down to whisper one final thing in your ear before you dozed off. 

“Happy holidays, kitty. I love you.”

The Transatlantic Railway, part 6

We’ve sorted out the logo, trains, route, and bridge, now it’s time for the most important part of the project: how on Earth are we meant to pay for this thing? At 5143km long, and based on some very rough estimates I put together bridges typically cost something on the order of £10-100 million per kilometer; giving us a cost of around £50-500 billion total. That sounds reasonable, it is at most half of the UK budget and also less than the US military budget.

🥪 Introducing... Door2Door! 🥪

Door2Door stars twenty year old possum Gigi Dempster, who lives in a rather ramshackle, podunk town in Vermont called Bendersville. After sending numerous job applications all over town with no word back, she finally lands herself a delivery driver position at an unassuming locally-owned sandwich restaurant named Dine 'n Dash. With no prior experience in the art of crafting a mighty fine sandwich or running a delivery route, Gigi is strapped in to experience the whirlwind of a first time food service job firsthand, and in an unpredictable town like Bendersville, quite literally anything can happen.

At last, witness unveiling of my latest project I've spent the last month conceptualizing, Door2Door! What once came about as a silly idea of basing a project after an inner-city delivery driver inspired after a certain gameplay section in Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, it has since blossomed into one of my dearest passion projects yet!

Though, before I get into any further detail behind Door2Door and its creation, I must stress— none of the above five images hail from a lost late nineties/early 2000s Cartoon Network show, and if by chance any of them were enough to fool you into thinking they were, then that just means I achieved what I set out for! 💙✨

Now, about a month ago, I'd been watching a retrospective on the critically un-acclaimed Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, a game I had growing up. It's important for me to mention that I had seen and personally played the aforementioned gameplay section before, though for some reason seeing it again struck me with a brilliant project idea.

Anyone who's been following me for at least a year knows that I've designed a cavalcade of candied characters for my own arcade game concept, Rascal, and initially my idea for Door2Door— which I also called Project JJ (In reference to the sandwich chain Jimmy John's)— was to give it a plot simple enough to translate into an arcade game.

The idea was that you played as a plucky delivery driver who rides through the streets of a seedy city to deliver a food order to the... er, order-ee. But your progress would be impeded by a fiendish gang of mobster alley cats who are after your sandwiches, so there would have definitely been a large cartoony element to the gameplay loop.

I drew concept art for Door2Door's protagonist, then known as Marcy, though I really wasn't vibing with either drawing. For one, making the protagonist a cat seemed a bit overdone, and I already have a cat character who's name rhymes with Marcy, so that had to go. More so, I also couldn't settle on a good spriting style, which prompted me to rethink the whole project.

Well, there is a general aura of cartooniness to Door2Door, I thought, why not just embrace that vibe whole-heartedly and reshape the project into a long-lost late nineties cartoon?

I did like the idea of having an excuse to drawing more animation cels, though if I was going to make Door2Door into something resembling a cel-animated cartoon, I was prepared to go the full distance in nailing that aesthetic, in the form of how characters are designed and the way I go about drawing each screenshot.

For those unfamiliar with cel animation, essentially it can be described as a traditional form of animation and involves objects— usually characters— being hand-inked and painted on clear celluloid sheets and placed over painted backgrounds.

Above, I've provided a visual for what a standalone 'cel' from Door2Door would look like, coupled with a hand-painted background. When overlaid on top of one another...

... you would get this! This is exactly how cartoons were animated up until the era of digital inking and coloring... but that begs the question. How am I achieving a hand-drawn and painted aesthetic if everything I've shown so far has been drawn digitally?

I have my ways! It involves a lot of studying how individual cels of animation look, and taking note of recurring hallmarks; grainy textures, paint blemishes, drop shadows, etc. Above, I've assembled a small gif of my process in composing a screenshot for Door2Door, from lineart to final product!

So, that all should loosely explain it; Door2Door is what would happen if I were in charge of a late nineties Cartoon Network show, and what you've seen here is merely the beginning. Going forward, I will be posting art of Door2Door's main cast with some additional character information and concept art for each one, though for the time being, enjoy all five art pieces I've supplied for this post— they are perhaps the biggest works of mine yet this year! 💙🏳️‍⚧️✨
