National Exit Exam For MBBS | NEXT MBBS Question Pattern
A single examination, termed NEXT (National Exit Exam for MBBS), which will replace the NEET-PG and MCI Screening exams as the final step in the medical school admissions process (FMGE: Foreign Medical Graduate Examination). Starting in 2022, it will be put into practice.
Graduates of medical schools in India and abroad will be required to sit for this exam. Internships will begin for students who pass the NEXT exit exam. Allotment of post-graduate (MD, MS, DNB, and diploma) seats in Government and private medical colleges in India will also be based on NEXT exam score (rank).
Pattern of NEXT exam
NEXT will comprise of two parts: Theory (NEXT-1) and practical (NEXT-2). Multiple-choice questions will be used to assess knowledge of theory (MCQs). Following final year MBBS and before internship, NEXT-1 will be held. Students will begin internships after completing NEXT-1. Those who pass the theory test (NEXT-1) must then pass the practical test (NEXT-2) at the end of their internship. After your internship, you will be able to apply for a PG seat thanks to the score you earned in NEXT-1. To better understand the strategy for the national exit test syllabus, consider the diagram below.
The NEXT-2 test will be pass/fail. The grades you earn in NEXT-2 will have no bearing on how many PG seats you get. As a result, NEXT-1 will serve as both a qualification test and a competition test.

Next Exam For Foreign Medical Graduates | Mci Approved Foreign Medical Colleges
Known as the MCI Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), the Medical Council of India (MCI) Screening Exam is a certified exam offered by the National Board of Examination (NBE). Graduates of Indian medical schools who have completed their MBBS outside of India in countries such as Russia, China, Philippines, Georgia, Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Bangladesh & other foreign countries must pass the MCI Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates in order to practise medicine in India. FMGE is only open to those who have completed their MBBS degree from a medical school in another country that is accredited by the Medical Council of India. The MCI website has a list of foreign medical schools that have been approved by the agency.
A one-year rotatory internship in India is required after passing the MCI Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates. Students who complete this requirement will be eligible for permanent registration with the MCI or State Medical Council in India.
FMGE and NEET-PG will be replaced by NEXT: National Exit Exam for MBBS, which will be a common exit exam for all medical school graduates, whether they are Indian or foreign.
