wow, I love this... it really made me think creatively. as we know, our boys love dr. jart.... and dr. jart loves them back! as a maxxinista myself, I love when I can find dr. jart for the cheapskies. however.... which enha member would be most likely to pick up some random questionable sheet mask you only ever see at Marshall's is a totally different matter...

for the record, i'm a new engene so I may not have the best insight here! tbh I also feel like they're super interchangeable, so don't trust my ranking too much (word count: 532)

IMO... the boy most likely to use some random no-name brand from Marshall's would be:

MOST LIKELY: Jake - tbh I feel like jake would slap anything on his face if you told him to. he's truly down for whatever. he doesn't strike me as the kind of dude who is super picky about his skincare... if you saw the vogue korea what's in my bag video, you may have noticed that jake quite literally seemed as if he'd never seen a dr jart product in his life. I do believe he'd be the first to pick up some random cute packaging no-name mask excitedly and claim his skin is super tolerant of any ingredient Heeseung - I feel like he'd be willing to try something if you really saif it was good... and would try it with minimal attitude once he stealthily looked it up online to see the mostly positive reviews. however, you better hope that product doesn't give him a reaction or he will be super annoyed with you for days afterwards </3 Jungwon - I just feel like he's so willing to do whatever makes you smile, even if he's a little unsure about it. he'd try out some no-name skincare if it's what you wanna do... but he'd probably give you some side eyes over a couple of the products... but I don't think he's actually saying anything! just givin you a look. Would probably see how the product impacts your skin for a few days before giving it a try... LMAO. Jay - Jay is just along for the ride. If you wanna do some random esfolio mask together, he'll just quietly go along with it... but he may make a few snarky comments about your selections. I can even see him spot testing some of the products on his arm before putting them on his face. tbh jay heeseung and jungwon are interchangable here to me Niki - I feel like Niki would trust your judgment if you vouched strongly for a random Marshall's product... like yes maybe he'd be a bit skeptical but he'd try it once if you really convinced him. he seems like the type who really wants to be "on top" of what's trending/what'll be the next big thing, so I feel like he'd relish an opportunity to stumble onto something new at Marshall's to recommend to his hyungs. Sunghoon - I feel like Sunghoon has sensitive skin. I have no evidence for this but I feel it in my gut. I just feel like he would be skeptical to try anything other than his tried and true. This man is a loyal patient of Dr. Jart, I feel it. I do feel like even if you picked up a Dr. Jart that had found its way to Marshall's, he'd be paranoid it somehow was expired. Sunoo - This man is so particular about what goes on his skin and in his body. I see the way he be chugging vitamins. He even has a skincare fridge... I see this man as only using the absolute best, and rightfully so! he needs to stay in tip-top shape and can't get any wacky reactions from a tjmaxx product! London - Wednesday 13th September, 2023.

Wednesday was a busy day. I started off on Sloane Square and picked up some jewellery and a jar of Dr Jart+ Cicapair Treatment from Peter Jones, then headed to Zara on Duke of York Square. It's not very often I find anything I like (or that fits me) in Zara, but this store in particular is laid out so well, has a lot of natural lighting, and doesn't feel stuffy and overcrowded. I found a lovely soft white tee and a cream A-line jumper. After, I headed down King's Road and had lunch at Pizza Express. I treated myself to a rhubarb and raspberry gin and a gluten free margherita. The weather was cloudy but very mild, so I sat outside under their covered terrace.

After lunch, I walked up Sloane Street to Harrods, passing the beautiful pink flowers in Cadogan Place Park. I only really wanted to dash in and out of their gift shop to pick up a few souvenirs - I got my mum and step-dad some chocolate, myself a keyring, and I had to get the 2023 Christmas bauble. I tried to spend as little time as I could here because it was super hectic. I jumped in a taxi outside and visited my final location of the day - Fortnum & Mason. My brother is a big fan of Russian Caravan tea so I wanted to get him some loose leaf from their tea counter. Fortnum's is such a magical place, I loved every minute. I will probably visit earlier next time so I can wander around more leisurely.

After gallivanting around West London for 6 hours, I jumped on the Bakerloo line back to my apartment.

unfortunately i don't think either of these are great for hydration!! hard for me to think of anything that's both pore refining + hydration on the spot! I don't also use face masks that much these days - although laneige has this sleeping water mask I keep getting as the sephora bday present and it's very nice & hydrating.

but for moisturizers, I'd rec: peter thomas roth water drench, khiel's, belif true cream moisturizer bomb, and first aid beauty.

also shout-out to dr. jart + tiger grass serum which is probably more soothing/calming redness than hydrating but i've found it really nice in the winter months when my skin starts getting wack.

Solo Command re-read part one.

Spoilers, naturally.

1. 'Naval Lieutenant Jart Eyan looked rested and cheerful. The fact that he had only twelve minutes to live would have changed his disposition, but he dud not possess that knowledge.' What an entrance, Allston.

2. And Piggy thwarts an assassination. And he does it really awesomely, too. Reminds me a bit of one of the half dozen Sherlock episodes I've ever seen.

3. So, one of the best parts about this book is the fact that one of my favorite platonic relationships, and one of my favorite romantic relationships, both come to fruition. Firstly, the platonic one: Face and Lara. I'll probably elaborate later, but they're cool. I'll definitely elaborate later on the romantic one, Myn and Lara.

4. Oh. Great. A replacement medic. Just great.

5."Elassar Targon, master of the universe, reporting for duty!" Wedge: oh, great, another maniac.

6. Face becomes the leader of the squad. When I started this series for the first time, I had no idea that Face was gonna end up Wraith One. Unexpected, but not unwelcome.

7. Wedge is analyzing the other lieutenants to see how they feel about their new squad leader, and all seems well thus far.' That left Myn Donos, a lieutenant with more years and more experience than Face. He looked serious and contemplative. But then, serious was merely a step up from his usual expression, that of dour intensity.' Yep, Myn's facial expressions are pretty much limited to intense and...... More intense.

8. Wedge is going on a da-ate. According to Hobbie, "He smells like a fresh spring breeze ". Bet it's with Iella. Speaking of OTPs...

9. 'Dia Passik, the female Twi'lek, said, "He (Face) insisted that he wasn't feeling well." Lara Notsil smiled over her shoulder at them. "He lied. He lies all the time, you know." "I know. But he seemed so genuine." "He does that all the time, too. This is the right thing to do. Myn, Elassar, back me up. " For context, they're going convincing him to go for a night out with the four of them. See? BROTHER.

14. It's amusing to realize that Wraith and Rogue Squadron are assisting Wedge in his 'I refuse to become a general' scheme. Because they are.

15. So apparently, Corran and Han have never been in the same room together during this trip, so there's a baseless conspiracy theory that they're the same person. Hilarious.

16. Piggy's fresh out of the bacta tank, and the Wraiths are here to greet him. And troll him, naturally. 'Shalla said, "Kell and I worked up an instructional manual for you. It's called, *How to Dodge*." Piggy mopped away at his damp skin and allowed himself a slight smile. It was good to be home.' *gets bowled over by found family feels*

31. Okay, Solo's gone off the deep end. "Without her (Leia), I don't have a place. I'm just a drifter with an irresistible dose of roguish charm. It's so obvious, even a blind man could see it.

32. So, Wedge is giving everyone the night off, unofficially. Including the astromech droids. Also, he's not Wedge. After all, Commander Wedge Antilles would be wearing proper rank insignia.

33. The book calls it 'Wedge's mutiny of anonymity,' and I really can't do it justice. It's hilarious.

Decko and Lies

Summary: Before Fives could shift, a wall of plastoid slammed into him. It could only be one thing: his twin.

His strained knee locked, and down he went. His batchmate rolled past him. “Hey, kih’vod,” the traitor said before racing off again.

He groaned. “‘M older than you,” he mumbled.

The ground wasn’t too uncomfortable. He could just stay down here for the next while. It was a better friend than his brother was being.

Rex leaned over him. “I’d ask if that was normal if I didn’t already know it was.” He didn’t look amused.

Fives shrugged as best he could. “I should’ve seen it coming, in all honesty. That’s another batch thing of ours. We didn’t tackle as much until the two of us became ARCs, though, since we can take it better now.”

The captain sighed, muttering something that sounded awfully like, “This is my own fault for insisting I got them instead of Cody.”

In which Echo decks Fives to the ground in the middle of the mess, Fives decides to just lie there afterward, and some troopers have to change their perceptions of the Legion's ARCs.

It was an average day in the 501st Legion. Or, what they considered average and not what a civvie or even some other battalions would call average. Between campaigns and in hyperspace, troopers settled into routines and shifts and enjoyed the free time they found. 

Echo and Fives, recently returned from a campaign with the 41st, were more beaten up than the rest of their brothers, who were returning from a short shore leave. Echo himself wasn't too bad. Just some bruising and a few scrapes and plenty of sore muscles, but not at all unmanageable. He felt worse during ARC training, quite frankly, and he survived that. 

It had only been two days since they went straight from one battle and a short trip on a cruiser to the Resolute headed back out to the Outer Rim and he already felt antsy. Definitely a side effect of being an ARC now — any downtime longer than a day, much needed as it may be, began to feel too long. He couldn’t imagine what being stationed on Rishi would feel like now, as bored as they had all been before that fateful day.

Rolling a stiff shoulder, Echo stood from finishing up his mission report. He needed to do something about this restlessness that was pestering him. A good spar might help, or maybe an overly complicated brain puzzle someone was struggling with, get either his body or his mind working. Luckily, he knew just where to find both.

Exiting the ARC barracks, he headed for Torrent’s. The trip wasn’t long, officer and ARC barracks being far enough for privacy yet close enough to still feel connected to the men and any emergencies that may arise. Stepping inside got him just what he wanted: a handful of off-duty infantrymen arguing over the rules of sabacc while playing what appeared to be a completely different game.

“Echo!” Hardcase perked up from the middle of the circle, effectively silencing the group. “What can we do for you?”

He gave them a half-wave in greeting. “Have you seen Rex or Fives? I have a question for them.”

The heavy-gunner snapped in recognition with his free hand. “They were just in here, actually. Left for the mess not too long ago.”

“I’m kinda surprised you didn’t run into them in the hallway on the walk over here,” Jesse added. “It really wasn’t that long ago, about twelve-forty.”

Echo stifled a laugh. “Jess, it’s thirteen-fifteen.”

The group blinked back at him. For once, silence resounded in the Torrent barracks.

“Have we really been arguing that long?” Ringo asked, eyebrows near his hairline.

“Either that or Jesse forgot how to read a chrono properly,” Echo responded. Jesse put a hand on his chest, sending him a faux-offended look.

“Eh, well, either way, you might still be able to catch them as they leave,” Ringo said. 

The ARC shrugged. “Thanks anyway, guys. See you around.” 

A chorus of replies followed him through the doors, arguing picking back up before they fully closed again. 

The mess, huh? Great. So long as he had the space and Fives was there, Echo knew exactly what he could do, and it wasn’t asking a question. Or, at least, not at first. Plus, he could go for some food right now. It might be contributing to his need to move more than he initially thought. Two jarts, one stone.

Setting off with a purpose, the walk to the mess didn’t take long. Entering, the room wasn’t too crowded, considering the time of day and how the shifts aligned. Fives and Rex were easy enough to spot among the crowd. The duo stood conversing, the captain in an aisle between two rows of seats, the other ARC in the walkway. Their helmets sat on the table next to them, forgotten like the meals a quick glance told him they hadn’t gotten yet. 

Rolling his eyes to himself, Echo walked toward the beginning of the aisle Fives stood in. Now, if he started at this exact point... avoided the trash can... attacked from that angle... rolled tightly, so long as nobody walked past, he was good to go. He could continue on and get his food, and, considering how Fives’ stance seemed to be favoring his left leg since it’d only been two days, nobody would or could stop him. 

Perfect.

Reaching the first row of tables, he set his feet, shook his arms out, and sprung forward. Grinning to himself as nearby observers vocalized their confusion over his actions, he ran toward the duo. Trash can avoided, he dove, snagging his twin by the waist with his left arm. 

Down they both went. Using his momentum, he did a combat roll as planned, popping to his feet. Fives groaning behind him, he said a quick, “Hey, kih’vod,” and took off toward the line at the opposite end of the mess before either man could follow after him. 

Yep, that did the trick. He felt much less restless now. And now that he was thinking about it, he really could go for some food. Another successful plan, and, if Echo was being honest with himself, it was retaliation for Fives waking him up by pushing him off his bunk. 

Three jarts, one stone.

Fives was glad to be back with the 501st after their campaign with the 41st. He had strained his right knee avoiding some droids early into the campaign and, while he could deal with working through the pain because of ARC training, having a medic threaten him to stay off it for a few days was surprisingly refreshing. 

Other than that, all he had was some minor bumps and bruises, though Echo certainly was the better off of the two of them. Nothing that could actually stop him from postponing his mission report for a tad longer and talking to Rex. Really, he would get to the paperwork. He just needed to talk to Rex about this next campaign. And training. And how he and Echo have been since they last saw their ori'vod. And whatever else that may spring to mind while they talked. 

So when Rex ran into him on his hunt to find the captain, he took the opportunity to do so. Nevermind the fact that they decided to get lunch together after checking in on Torrent and still hadn't gotten the food yet.

“So, is there a reason you’re talking to me about upgrades you and Echo have been working on instead of writing out your mission report?” Rex abruptly changed the subject. 

Fives scoffed. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, sir.” 

Rex gave him a pointed look.

“My brain works too fast for my typing skills to keep up?” Which wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t quite the current reason he was avoiding doing his report. “My whole batch had a problem with that, even as our typing speed increased.”

“If that’s so, then why did I just receive a notification saying Echo just sent me his to forward to Cody?” His older brother crossed his arms.

“Ah, you see, that’s one area he has better self-discipline than I do.” He shifted his weight more onto his left leg. Hopefully, that’d help the ache spreading through his strained knee.

The captain rolled his eyes, a ghost of a smile on his lips. “As long as you get it to me by the end of the cycle. Was there anything else you wanted to talk to me about?”

Fives clasped his hands together. “Yes, actually. Echo and I were talking about the upcoming campaign, and we had a few ideas that might work.”

“Great, let’s hear them.” 

Launching into the strategies they talked through last night, still adjusting to a different sleep cycle, Fives explained multiple possibilities for the legion. They were going to take the planet back, even if it took all of Fives’, Echo’s, and Rex’s combined plans (and Skywalker’s improvised ones) to do it.

Halfway through Plan Ebla, subpoint Holo point six, one of Echo’s, something rushed toward him. Before he could shift, a wall of plastoid slammed into him. It could only be one thing: his twin.

His strained knee locked, and down he went. His batchmate rolled past him. “Hey, kih’vod,” the traitor said before racing off again. 

He groaned. “‘M older than you,” he mumbled. 

The ground wasn’t too uncomfortable. He could just stay down here for the next while, rest his knee like he should have been. It was a better friend than his brother was being. Though he had a feeling Echo tackled him because he shoved him off the bunk this morning because Echo had slapped him upside the head the night before. Eh, whatever.

Rex leaned over him. “I’d ask if that was normal if I didn’t already know it was.” He didn’t look amused. To be fair, he didn’t look upset either.

Fives shrugged as best he could. “I should’ve seen it coming, in all honesty. That’s another batch thing of ours, though between Echo and Hevy it tended to be more aggressive-aggressive and not just lovingly-aggressive. We didn’t tackle as much until the two of us became ARCs, though, since we can take it better now.”

The captain sighed, muttering something that sounded awfully like, “This is my own fault for insisting I got them instead of Cody.” He held his hand out for Fives. Louder, he said, “You say stuff like that, and every single time, I have to reevaluate the hour or so I knew Hevy. Makes me wish I could’ve gotten to know the other three like I have with you two.”

Fives gave him a weak smile. “Me too, Cap. Though I think you’d have more grey hair if you did.”

The hand fell back to Rex’s side. “Alright, that’s it. Pick yourself up off the ground, trooper. I’m not that much older than you.”

His smile turned into a smirk. “Whatever you say, ori’vod.”

At that point, Echo reappeared, tray in hand. “Hey, get up,” he said, kicking Fives in the ribs. 

Fives groaned again, curling in on himself. 

Echo scoffed. “Oh, please, I didn’t tackle you or kick you that hard. I know you’ve survived worse.”

“Yeah, like growing up with you. You should respect your elders better.” 

Echo kicked him again. He slapped the foot away. “I’m older than you,” his twin had the gall to say.

“No, you aren’t.” The floor really was looking like the better friend at the moment.

Rex cleared his throat, the two of them turning to him. He had crossed his arms again. “Are you two done?”

They glanced at each other. “For now, sir,” they answered in unison. 

“Good. Fives, I’m serious, get up or I’ll let Echo or Hardcase pick you up. We really should go and get our food. We’ve been standing and talking for too long, and we need to finish going over those strategies you were telling me about. Preferably not on the floor in front of all the men.”

“You started to go over them without me?” Echo asked, moving away and placing his tray at the table the helmets sat on. Distantly, Fives realized Echo didn’t have his helmet on or on his belt; he must’ve left it in the barracks.

Sitting up, he stated, “I was going to comm you. Eventually,” he quickly added at his fellow ARC’s look. Standing up, he turned toward their older brother. “Okay, Rex, let’s go get some food before Echo decides to punch me again.”

Rex and Echo shared a look. “Lead the way, then.”

Off they went, Echo’s chuckles following them. Yeah, being back with the 501st was always a comfort, being able to slip back into habits and relax from the stress of missions. No matter how many grey hairs they may have already caused Rex.

Etch still couldn’t believe he’d been deployed to the 501st battalion with Captain Rex, General Skywalker, and Commander Tano. The 501st! It was a dream come true. One deployment and his first, albeit rather short, leave on Coruscant later, and they were headed out to his first campaign. But they still had a ways to go, traveling through hyperspace for the next day or so. Nobody ever mentioned that even hyperspace travel could take a long time.

Lock and Key, two of his new squadmates who were batchmates, sat next to him in the mess. Etch’s own batchmate was off doing who-knew-what with the rest of their squad. Probably exploring the ship — the Resolute, he still couldn’t believe it. If he wasn’t so hungry, he’d be with them. 

Lock tugged on a bit of exposed blacks between his armor. Looking up from the (still as bland as Kamino) food, he asked, “What?”

Instead of answering, he pointed ahead and to their right. 

“Captain Rex and ARC Trooper Fives!” Key exclaimed. “Wow! I didn’t think we’d see Captain Rex again until maybe training or the campaign or something. I haven’t really seen him since he welcomed us on board.”

They weren’t part of Torrent Company, which was apparently the Captain’s personal Company. Not that they expected to be put there right from Kamino. The Captain spent a lot of time with Torrent when he wasn’t running the rest of the Legion or doing something with their Jedi. For now, they’d only seen him supervising their training, which Sergeant Pry ran, and giving orders during their first deployment. Other than that, orders had come from a Lieutenant or Sergeant Pry, and they hadn’t been able to catch a glimpse of the Captain in the downtime they were beginning to suspect he didn’t have much of. 

“When did the ARCs get back? I heard they were on a mission with a different battalion and that’s why they weren’t there when we arrived and the officers were introduced to us or on the deployment,” Etch asked. 

Lock shrugged.

“I don’t know, but I frankly don’t care,” Key stated. “Did you hear that ARC Fives once ripped a droid’s head off with his bare hands— ”

“I thought that was the Captain that did that.”

“— and another time he took down a Seppie base with nothing but a single detonator, a vibroblade, and his dual pistols while ARC Echo sliced into the base from a safe distance and gathered a bucketload of information that saved us a base or two? Or how one time ARC Echo faced down a whole droid platoon with an injured and unconscious ARC Fives on his back and came out with only a twisted ankle?”

“Wow.”

“I know, right?”

Lock nodded in agreement.

“Actually,” Etch began, “I heard you know ARC Trooper Fives considers you a friend if he punches you. That’s so weird, but, like, now I wanna see it happen, you know?”

Key furrowed his brows. “He does?”

“Yeah! It’s like how Sergeant Pry keeps patting us on the back and nudging us when we do something good, except ARC-levels of roughness or something. Now that there aren’t any kaminiise around, I’ve noticed everyone’s more open about doing that stuff. ‘Parently, the General’s okay with it, hasn’t sent anyone back for it.”

Lock and Key both had wide eyes. “That’s amazing.”

“Yeah, it is. Also, I heard that ARC Trooper Echo punches ARC Trooper Fives back in retaliation. But he doesn’t start it, as far as I’ve heard. I also heard they’re batchmates, that’s why they work so well together. Like, ARC Trooper Echo’s the brains most of the time and ARC Trooper Fives is the brawn, even though they can easily switch roles if they want to since they’re ARCs and all that. They just know what the other’s gonna do.” 

“Chip told me that Twos told him that Flopper told him that Zeck told him that he heard they were twins and when he asked them, they said ‘maybe’ in unison and didn’t say anything else on the topic.”

Wait, look, Lock signed. There’s ARC Echo. He pointed at the entrance of the mess. 

“Holy kriff, he’s here to talk to the other two, isn’t he? Do ya think if we get closer, we can hear what they’re talking about?”

“You mean eavesdropping on our superiors?” Key looked scandalized. He paused. “Count me in.”

Just then, ARC Trooper Echo broke out into a run. Etch stood to his feet. Why was he running? Was something bad happening or about to happen that he didn’t notice? “What —” 

The ARC Troopers collided, flying to the ground. ARC Trooper Echo rolled, stood up, stated, “Hey, kih’vod,” and continued on his way. ARC Trooper Fives stayed on the ground, groaning. “‘M older than you,” he mumbled to the empty air. 

As the Captain leaned over his ARC, Etch, Lock, and Key stared at each other. “I think something we heard was wrong,” Etch murmured.

Lock and Key merely nodded at him.

“Maybe we shouldn’t believe everything we hear about them.”

They continued to watch as ARC Trooper Fives stayed on the ground, conversing with the Captain. Soon enough, the other ARC headed over and kicked his brother. Once again, the trio shared shocked looks, unprepared for this development, almost missing the wack back ARC Trooper Echo received. Captain Rex, though sounding exasperated with what they could catch, looked… was that fond? 

This was not how Etch thought his meal would go.

As ARC Trooper Fives and Captain Rex went off to get food, Etch’s batchmate, Chip, ran over. 

“Where’d you come from? I didn’t see you enter the mess.”

“A cloning vat, thank you very much,” Chip replied. “I have more news!”

The trio leaned in, eager to learn more.

“I heard from Dean, who heard from Flopper, who heard from Feedback, who heard from Oz, who’s in Torrent Company that both ARC Trooper Fives and Echo once saved Captain Rex and Commander Cody from a Seppie base after they’d been captured with only a ten-minute window, a handful of droid poppers, and their normal gear, and against a whole fifteen rollies! They made it back to the rendezvous with four minutes to spare and Captain Rex took down three of them himself while midair and Commander Cody punched one to bits…”

And just like that, the group of barely-not-shinies forgot the lesson they just learned, getting swept up in stories and rumors of their commanding officers. Well, shinies are gonna shiny, after all. They’d have the lesson they learned that day knocked into their heads permanently in a month or so, once the shininess completely wore off. All in good time.

Oh, sorry for not being specific. I was referring to your post titled "Good Endings for a Yandere." There was this part: Heck, there’s a manhwa with a male yandere happy ending that I love, but whenever I think about it I’m like, “Yeah in real life that guy should have gone to jail…a LOT.” I was wondering what manhwa you were referring to.

Oh!  Thank you, I know exactly what you are talking about.  I was a little nervous to admit it at the time, but the manhwa I was referring to was 100% Perfect Girl.

In case someone hasn’t heard of it, I should make something clear:  This manhwa is a guilty pleasure of mine.  I enjoy it because it’s one of the few fairly longer media (11 volumes) where the male yandere (Jarte) is actually one of the main protagonists.  This is romance focused, but of course my favorite parts are when Jarte acts more antagonistic.  Yes, the couple does end up together in the end as well.

I cannot guarantee that everyone is going to like this particular manhwa.

If you like warnings or want to understand a little more as to “why,” check below.

Again, like the quote in the answer here suggests, this IS one of those cases where the yandere does several things against the S/O’s will in an effort to keep her.  Things that if they took place in reality, I’m going to go, “Nope!  You’re out.  You don’t get to be with her after that.”  But I’ve said before time and time again that I can still let fictional events slide a little if I’m enjoying the characters and/or the story.  Seeing character development and reflection is always a plus as well.  

I suppose I don’t feel as traumatized about things happening to fictional characters than I do real live people (usually...The Kite Runner still left a scar with me, so I will understand if some people say “I can’t stand seeing my favorite characters get hurt”).

Jarte does force himself on the female S/O (Jay) at least once or twice in the later chapters for example.  It’s not as graphically depicted as I’m used to seeing, but it’s pretty obvious it was unwanted.  So if that’s a hard concept for anyone, keep yourself safe and give this a skip.

Otherwise, believe it or not I’ve seen yanderes act a whole lot more hostile than Jarte eventually does.  Maybe that’s another reason why it doesn’t bother me as much.

Anyways, so why I call this a guilty pleasure is because it is genuinely one of the few LONGER yandere media I’ve found that’s also strictly focused on the yandere and the S/O.  I really do have a hard time finding longer yandere media.  It may also help that I like it best when Jarte’s being antagonistic in the later volumes.  This probably shouldn’t surprise anyone here because I’ve always said I prefer “romance turned horror��� yanderes.  I still view Jarte as a pretty solid yandere overall.  No guarantee he’s necessarily a character everyone will like, but just because you don’t like a character, doesn’t mean they aren’t a yandere.  It’s the same vice versa, where liking a character doesn’t necessarily guarantee that they are a yandere.  You have to look carefully at the character’s overall actions and motivations/emotions.

I did see genuine character growth and compromise in this story towards the end, so that’s another plus.

100% Perfect Girl is...interesting to say the least.  I like the drama in the story (it is ENTIRELY drama).  It is over the top sometimes, but I did find myself enjoying seeing how the two characters reacted to the same situation, and how they are affected as individuals with each aftermath.  There’s a point in the story too where the characters are not together for awhile (I won’t spoil why), so that gives you another view regarding the relationship.  The two main characters also do TALK a lot with each other regarding their relationship.  Yes, there are significant points where they withhold thoughts or don’t speak their true mind.  But eventually they always place their full thoughts and concerns on the table with each other.  Communication is the key in any relationship after all.

The kicker here is...all of those points I just listed as to why I like this manhwa can also EASILY be the reasons why someone might HATE this story and/or characters.  Especially with the talking.  You may either like how they communicate with one another, or it may be done in a manner that drives you insane.  It’s hard to explain.  This manhwa feels kind of unique with how the characters interact...though I’m not sure why I feel that way either.

I had a friend I suggested this manhwa to and made sure to both warn them and apologize prior to them starting the story XD  I believe they got through it all the way, and they did end up hating it.  I apologized again after all was said and done, haha.  They made good points though on their complaints, and then we had some fun coming up with different story scenarios where Jarte’s just the flat out antagonistic yandere, and the love interest for Jay was someone else.  I’ll admit, I think the ideas they came up with were actually better than how 100% Perfect Girl played out.  I would have read those :P  What can I say?  I liked Jarte being the bad guy the most.

As for whether the good ending Jarte and Jay get is believable and warranted...well I think that’s kind of up to the individual reader.  If I told you different scenes that happened in various parts of the story, the viewer could say “yes” or “no,” but that wouldn’t be a fair judgement.

If you want to read the story and decide for yourself if you accept the two being together in a fictional format, my suggestion is you take into account the entire journey and character changes the protagonists go through.  In other words, judge the story and characters as a whole if you’re going to give the ending a thumbs up or thumbs down.  

That could either be a lot of fun for someone to do, or a nightmare honestly.  Depends on how critical of a view you have and if you enjoy the kind of story it is to begin with.

I feel like I tried very hard here to make some kind of point, but I just ended up falling flat on my face.  Oh well.  Haven’t written any long yandere posts in awhile.  I also just wanted to cover my bases prior before someone comes running back to me saying, “Violet you didn’t say THIS would happen?!” or “How on earth did you think I should have viewed these two as a valid couple?!”

They just end up together guys XD  You can decide if you like that or not yourself.

On a side note, if you read 100% Perfect Girl and like it, you could try reading another one of Wann’s (the author’s) manhwa called Give to the Heart.  Sadly, I never found a free way to read this one, but there are one or two characters in it you MIGHT classify as a male yandere (who are main characters).  Between the two, I like 100% Perfect Girl better.  So if you read 100% Perfect Girl and DON’T end up liking the story, I think I gave you the lesser of the two evils, haha.

Fun Fact:  One thing I consistently hate about Wann’s work is that I can’t tell if the characters bite their lips a lot, or that’s just the style of how he draws them >_<

just wanted to put a little something together because we all get pooped at the end of a busy busy week 

i. face masks!!! after my skin routine at night, if i’m feeling like i need a little treat, i’ll whip out a cute little face mask to calm my skin as i read a book / scroll through social media / take a little nap on my bed. 

my favorite brands are mediheal (they have super cute line collabs), nature republic, and papa recipe (the honey mask smells AMAZING), but if you’re feeling a little bougie, go for the dr. jart rubber mask (hydration is my favorite) or the jayjun real water brightening black mask.

2. calming music  i love listening to lofi music or instrumentals - especially piano or cello. bonus is if it’s a kpop song cover. and when i mean listening to music, i seriously mean just finding a comfortable place to sit or lie and just be there, with the music of your choice. if you have a designated calming playlist, perfect! because that’s all you really need. youtube has great compilations (1, 2) and my favorite piano covers are created by funguypiano, doopiano, and smyang!

3. watch something

watch an episode of your favorite show, vlive, or some youtube (since i don’t watch tv anymore, i somehow always end up on vlive and then youtube afterwards). but don’t forget to set a time limit, maybe an hour max. remember, binge sessions will only add stress.

4. read a book  get in the zone for some peace and quiet. there’s not much to say except to find a place to chill and get some of that reading going. here’s my goodreads if anyone is interested!

5. take a walk  after dinner, walking around your neighborhood is a great way to digest. i like to take around thirty minutes without any electronics and stroll around. try not to listen to music. instead, listen to the world around you. enjoy the little things–the cicadas chirping, the laughter of kids, the wind blowing past–and just observe. 

6. exercise  as everyone knows, exercises releases endorphins. personally, i love running in nature so i get to embrace my surroundings and enjoy the view while i work out my body! remember to curate a playlist so you can always jam out whether your working out at the gym or outside. 

7. hang out with friends considering it’s the end of a long week, meeting up with friends over a meal or dinner is a lovely way to vent and get everything out. talking is a great way to destress, and when there is someone you trust listening, the entire process is extremely therapeutic. 

8. clean and declutter yes. do it. because cleaning and working is a destress mechanism even though it is more work. having a fresh room or work area will also freshen up and clear your mind. your environment reflects your inner thoughts, so tidying up your belongings will inspire you to refresh your mind for a new week!!!

9. create  this can mean anything including doodles, collages, printing pictures, scrap booking, or writing. similar to talking to a friend, having an outlet to brain dump all the jumbled thoughts has a cleansing effect. grab a blank notebook and get everything out in any form you prefer. (on another note, i’ve been meaning to try out morning pages. it seems super helpful for practicing mindfulness)

Hey! I saw you talking to someone about retinol products and I’ve found that the Dr. Jart+ Tiger Grass Cream was amazing for when my skin started peeling due to tretinoin. Did you ever find that the topical creams made your skin more oily? That’s what I’m struggling with now...

hey anon, here’s a good rec for you from someone who has been there!! with topical creams, they’re going to make your skin more oily because they’re taking away the oil in your skin so your skin makes more and it’s just a big ol’ mobius strip of oil. SO use a moisturizer specifically for oily skin and that should help to combat it. so put it on, let it sink it, then moisturize.

oh! pregnancy!

My friends, my peers, on my way to my 36th week of pregnancy, im getting more anxious, excited, and felt all that jazz all over my body. instead of bringing negativity somewhere else, let me just write all my rants, experience, and even tips and recommendations here!

PART 1: HOW COULD I GET PREGNANT?

As an Indonesian-newly wed, the question will be “udah isi belum” for months and months ahead. Be ready, be not too salty because it’s tradition (i guess), a tradition that I. and most of our generation starting to get rid of. My response was easy, all smiley and still trying to be polite, but at times I got sad too. After three months of my wedding, I started to cry everytime my period comes :/ dont get me wrong. i want to get preggo not just because the pressure but my husband and I wanted kids too. I browsed through internet and do some tips, like both of us start consuming vitamin E (I use natur e & ever e), a more healthy lifestyle (we really tried our best to dodge junkfood), and the most important is to do the pembuahan when I am in my fertile time. To know my fertile time is not easy either, I take fertility test (it’s shaped like testpack) every morning and nigh, three days after my menstruation is done. It’s very hard to be consistent but I do this anyways. Sometimes I slack off too, but I think this is the best way to know your fertile time if your cycle every month is always changing like me. And Alhamdulillah, I have my baby on me!! It was magical, surreal, and unbelievable..

PART 2: IM PREGNANT, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

When I first found out I was pregnant, I kept it to myself, i still not believe what i saw until i test with another testpack. It’s clear, it’s two bold lines. And I prepared myself to talk to my husband, of course with a lil surprise and not to forget to record his reaction ~ (IT’S PRICELESS... TRUST ME YOU SHOULD DO THIS TOO). And after all the happy tears we should make sure everything is in there, on my belly, alive, breathing, and healthy. We decided to go to RS Hermina Galaxy, to dr. Wulandari (by my in law’s recommendation) and everything went well. I found out I was in my 6th week and there’s this little precious human on my womb. 

PART 3: SHOULD I STAY ON MY FIRST HOSPITAL?

After my second visit to RS Hermina, I decided to stop and move to Halobayi Bekasi (Nadya Medical Centre) with dr. Riene. Halobayi provides 4D USG in such reasonable price, at first me and my husband didnt really expect anything because 250.000? for a 4D USG? dudee? but we were wrong. the doctor is super duper nice to us, new parents, she explained everything soooo well and detailed, and didnt seem to rush us, she also answers all of the questions we have. So up until now, I stick with Halobayi and dr. Riene for my my 4D USG every month. There is plenty of doctor choice too, and besides Halobayi, there’s halobumil, intipbuahhati, that provides super worth 4D USG if you didnt want to go to RSIA. Just dive into their social media and see the reviews!

PART 4: TF IS SKINCARE??? IM TOO FRIGGIN LAZY!

Trust me, Ive been there... for the first three months i stopped ALL of my skincare (and really i just washed my face and sometimes apply sunblock if i must go outside). But after that three months i felt my skin is very dull looking... theres dry patches everywhere... i look kuyu and not fresh... sis this is not what we want right?!! we should be a sharp lookin preggo women... then i did my research and tried zhofira.. it’s a skincare brand by selebgram i guess, i havent heard any bit of the owner nor the products. but the review?? is very intriguing so i tried their toner and serum, it’s surprisingly good! i felt my skin lighter, and very well hydrated. it’s more than enough for me. for good two months i used them up alongside with Sensatia Botanicals Unscented Soapless Face Cleanser omg did i spell it right... and I love the result. 

but the serum’s bottle and its consistency annoy me v much so i started to research another serum... Then it comes to my new routine for the past two months I think??? and I changed my facial wash to Jarte Beauty & Sukin Original face wash. I like them both but i think Sensatia face cleanser is still my number one!!!! anyways this routine do pretty good job to my face, it’s nice, plumpy, hydrated and brighten my face a little (it’s the somethinc i believe!) and I am comfortable with them maybe for a long time i wish!

PART 5: HELLOO STRETCH MARKS!

I thought.... just my thought only... I wouldnt get stretch marks because I started using bio oil in my 4th months. BUT I WAS WRONG -- they really comes suddenly at my 7th months, and now it becomes super bold lines around my belly, under my belly, on my thighs, buttsss.. I was so shocked but I think it’s because i’m petite and my skin is not prepared to get ~this~ stretchy... First i used bio oil, but lately... because it gets very, very itchy i tried using herborist zaitun oil and it works well too. I didnt hesitate to use it much because it’s cheaper than bio oil lmao.. the most important is my skin isnt dry so if they becomes bigger the marks would minimalized (i wish :p) but dont worry... it’s normal!!! i get insecure sometimes but my husband is supportive enough to convince me that i look beautiful, that he will love me for everything that i am. ahaha.

PART 6: TO STAY FIT

Stay fit and active is a must.. from 20 weeks i went to yoga class in Nadya Medical Centre once a week until now, i think i slack off for like 3-4 times but I tried do do yoga at home too. Bidan Kita and Kriwilife is my go to channel. But i think it’s veerry important to follow a yoga class with bidan first, so that you could feel confident doing any movements you see on youtube. Besides yoga, walking is another recommendations from so many people. but for this one I still got so lazy at morning (if you’re 30weeks above your sleep cycle wouldnt be the same). But i tried to make it up with walking inside the house or on the treadmill aha.

PART 7: MY UNDERWEAR... IT’S SO SMALL!

my dear, i got you. as someone who’s in her life being small at any aspect of the body, I really am shocked by the size i have become right now lol... I tried couple of underwear (panties and bras) to see what i really like. turns out i really like these brands! for panties i use CD Maternity Mamabel (aquoshop on shopee), and Sorex 1128 Maternity Panty (i buy it offline but there’s a lot on shopee too). these two are comfortable and didnt push your womb, the karet is superrr big and with the mamabel ones you could adjust them. For the bras, I really love Sorex 8200. IT’S WHAT I NEED... it’s comfortable, holding your boobies well. the karet is not annoying (you can just add the bra extender if you felt like it’s not enough) and it’s super soooftt. I bought them at cherrybabykidsshop on shopee. I have four of them lmao im obsessed. AND.. if you like to do yoga or you’re comfortable with leggings, maternity legging by sorex is also super recommended. they’re super stretchy and suit for any activities. By this time i sound like sorex’s marketing huh. but they really made such nice quality products.....

MY TRETINOIN ROUTINE

SCHEDULE

WEEK 1: SHORT CONTACT THERAPY

Application: 30 min in the evening, 3 days apart. I applied a ½ pea sized amount each time, and washed it off afterwards with a gentle cleanser.

Skincare: Humectant toner and moisturiser afterwards (Stratia Liquid Gold on one side and Dr Jart+ Cicapair Cream on the other).

Irritation: Zero irritation or peeling, only a tiny bit of dryness.

Results: None visible yet, although I didn’t get any new pimples

I decided to step it up.  buy tretinoin gel 0.1 online

WEEK 2: OIL UNDERNEATH

Application: I slathered a thick layer of oil (Stratia Fortify or Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil Light and More) on my face, then applied a very small amount (maybe ¼ pea) of tretinoin cream on top. The oil helped the cream spread really nicely. I did this every second day.

Skincare: Moisturiser afterwards (Stratia Liquid Gold on one side and Dr Jart+ Cicapair Cream on the other). On alternate days I used either humectant toner or weak AHA.

Irritation: Here’s when the peeling started in earnest. My peeling has a lag time of around 36 hours, so I kept thinking I was off the hook but then my skin would start peeling in the middle of the day when I didn’t expect it. But then it’d clear up after a day. There was also some dryness and very mild stinging.

After the second application I zoned out during my skincare routine and ended up applying 10% AHA… bad idea! It left my skin feeling tight and stingy the next day when I applied sunscreen. I tried some 5% AHA later and it was fine, so I banned my regular acid exfoliants from my skincare table until further notice.

There was also a noticeable difference between the Stratia Liquid Gold and Dr Jart+ Cicapair Cream sides – Dr Jart+ was significantly better at calming down the flaking than the Stratia. I also tried the Bioderma Cicabio product, but I found that it was a bit too thick and gave me a few whiteheads near my nose (probably also partly from the irritation).

Results: I usually get a few big pimples around this time of month, but I didn’t get any which was nice but could have also been a fluke. I also noticed that some post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from a couple of old pimples was clearing up faster than usual.

WEEKS 3 AND 4: ON BARE SKIN, EVERY THIRD DAY

Application: 1/4 pea of tretinoin cream on dry skin (eep!) every 3rd day. Spreading wasn’t a huge issue. I tried to apply less on the parts of my skin that tends to flake and get irritated more (around my nostrils and chin).

Skincare: Humectant toner every day before tretinoin. Moisturiser afterwards (Dr Jart+ Cicapair Cream all over). Weak acid the day before tretinoin.

Irritation: For the first week there was some flaking around my nostrils and chin, but it was only visible near the end of the day thanks to foundation, and there was no irritation! By the end of Week 4 I was able to use tretinoin every second day.

Results: I didn’t really see much of a change – maybe a bit more glow?

WEEK 5: NONE

Here’s where disaster struck and I tested a foundation that gave me an irritant breakout. I haven’t broken out from a foundation before, so it’s possible that the tretinoin-induced irritation made my skin more sensitive. During this week I switched over to my emergency breakout routine and didn’t use any tretinoin.

WEEK 6 TO PRESENT: ON BARE SKIN, EVERY THIRD OR SECOND DAY

I was a bit worried about going back on tretinoin, since I built up my tolerance so carefully. But I applied 1/4 pea of tretinoin cream on my dry bare skin after my breakout subsided, and to my surprise there wasn’t any irritation! So for me at least, tretinoin tolerance doesn’t go away in a week. I moved up to a 1/2 pea-sized amount every second day and it was still fine.

Here’s where I am now: a 1/2 pea-sized amount, every second day, with mild acid exfoliant once a week on a day when I’m not using tretinoin. There’s no irritation, and I don’t have to use any special moisturisers (although I’m still using Stratia Liquid Gold on most nights).

That’s my tretinoin skincare routine, in excessive detail. I hope it helped some of you! I’d love to hear what you found helpful during your retinoid break-in period (if you survived it).
