I'm curious, wfat was Roxy's mom like in Turnabout?
How much of her seer abilities did she have access to before the end of the workd?
Tumblr media
hello anon youve just stepped on a landmine that is tb beta sesh guardians, but ESPECIALLY roxys mom
i always liked the implication that guardians in homestuck inherit some of their classpect powers, so i leaned onto it in tb as well (with minimal spoilers, g!dave appearing at the right time to assist dirk with entering the medium, g!dirk creating sawtooth, squarewave and g!hal to help out dave in the future, post-scratch guardians kinda falling apart once g!jake is gone (LOSING HOPE U GET ME AHAHAHA *sobs*))
its the same with g!rose. she appears to have a lot of knowledge about the game the kids will play, and uses it accordingly to guide her kid - roxy - and prepare her for it. its not a good thing. her sources are... dubious. she laser focuses so much on the process of making sure everything goes according to her visions, she loses the thread of what she was really supposed to do - be a good guardian to roxy. she assumes all those bad things have to happen to roxy, because thats what her visions show her. roxys suffering is simply ineventable, and it all has to happen to make the session go as its supposed to go.
i think by now its blatantly obvious that mom in turnabout will mirror bro in the og comic. i once answered an ask that inquired if striders will get the rooftop scene, and i said itll be two other characters that get it in tb!au. yep, its gonna be lalondes in this one, fellas

Thoughts on Jayvik classpects?
Oh lord, lmao.
I haven't actively engaged with Homestuck fandom for about a decade at this point, so my memory of what the classpects represent is very rusty. However, I decided to look up some guides so that I could examine the details and make some calls.
Viktor: Sylph of Doom
I stumbled across a fanart of Viktor as this classpect and it immediately struck me as "yeah, this seems correct." Looking up the details, that remains true to me. According to the guides it is the class that "heals their aspect, or heals via their aspect" which seems very Viktor coded to me. Healing with doom? Healing doom itself? Hell yeah man.
This also appeals to me as a huge Sollux Captor fan who was always disappointed that the story was never particularly interested in doing anything with his character or classpect as Mage of Doom. According to the guide I'm looking at, Sylph is a "confirmed female exclusive class" but I think that having Creation classes exclusive to females and Destruction classes exclusive to males is stupid and sucks.
Jayce: Bard of Hope
This feels mean but it's also very funny to me so I'll take it. The guide I was looking at said this about bards: "The passive destruction class, Bards mess up everything inevitably, as they 'invite destruction through their aspect or they invite the destruction of their aspect' in other words they are the only player who can legitimately mess everything up by doing nothing." And isn't that just very Jayce-like in the most tragic way. Inviting destruction with Hope? Goddamn.
I think there is something interesting to Viktor healing with Doom and Jayce destroying with Hope. Like, ultimately, that's how Jayce defeats Viktor in the end. He destroys him with hope. Meanwhile, Viktor thinks he is healing the world by dooming it.
I'm not hard-stuck on this for Jayce because I feel a bit bad having his classpect inevitably fuck him up in such a way, but it kind of creates an interesting story in my head. Also, he canonically owns a lute, so yeah. What else do you need, really.

LIFESTUCK ?!?! (pt 2 here!) (pt 3)
i was sick a couple days ago and spent like 12 hours straight doing nothing but classpecting life series characters and then was like Yeah i have to draw this now. so here's some sillies 👍 (super long classpect ramble under cut because i spent far too long on it not to share hfshjf)
quick note: i really really love @/classpect-navelgazing's theories and used them for a lot of the ideas here. go check their blog out it rules :]
ok you guys flower ranchers (scott tango jimmy) are making me so insane for this au specifically because of this idea i had about doom/life players. doom in true canon is related to inevitability, fate, and knowledge of the specific rules that keep the characters trapped within their story, right. and life is sort of related to healing, physically and mentally, within the confines of the game. so within this au, the aspect of life refers to the rules within the game that the players can see and are aware of (last life’s trading lives system + boogeyman, third life’s soulmate mechanic, secret life’s tasks, etc.). life players have some amount of dominion over these elements (depending on their class, of course). doom on the other hand refers to everything surrounding the games (stuff like admin powers, the world barrier, and whatever happens to the players after they die).
as a mage of doom, scot (his name is so funny to me. like yeah he sure is) has a bunch of intrinsic knowledge about the way the games function on a logistical level. he’s like a guy who read the script a while ago and forgot all the characters’ names but knows the basic plot and how it’s going to end. or who knows all the ins and outs of tech crew and for whom the apparent magic of the show for the audience is lost on, since he knows how it’s being done. the thing is, scot isn't especially able to act on this knowledge during the game. what director wants someone in the audience — or one of the actors — taking all the magic out of the show, spoiling how it works and how it ends? no, it’s best if they keep that knowledge to themselves — and so scot’s narratively unable to affect the stories of those around him, even his close friends who he’d want to help. he’s aware of this, of course, which makes him more than a little depressed, as he can see the futility of it all and can’t even explain to anyone what’s going on and how the game works. (the only story he’s able to affect, of course, is his own. which. depressed doom player + mage martyr complex + guy who Really cares about his friends is not necessarily a good combination.)
the amount of stock i put in the idea of gendered classes is close to zero so tangoe gets to be a maid of life because ohh my goodness. i like the theory (thanks classpect-navelgazing) of life as “the aspect of affluence,” where life players usually enter the game with some kind of material wealth or status that helps their position in some way. i also like the idea that maid players start the game with a surplus of their aspect but often end up feeling as if they’re only seen as a provider of that specific thing as a result of this, and so end up longing for something else instead. this primarily applies to last life tango because that’s the season i’m most familiar with lol, but i thought the way he started out with so many lives there and quickly dwindled as a result of everyone taking from him and only him was Really interesting. mans has all the luck of the game he could need, but only wants friends to actually be able to live with. being a life player also ties into his little gambling games and things (again, dominion over stuff within the overarching game/story, but nothing beyond that).
then we get to jimi (again fantastic name). the basic premise of an heir is that they’re played by their aspect, right and Oh Boy is jimmy played by life in the life series. i don’t personally know much about anything he’s done other than heehoo canary guy but along with the previously stated points it’s So fun to see him as a life player because it allows for some really clearly contrast between the way he interacts with tangoe and scot based on their aspects. i really like the idea of scot being like “you’re a life player jimi. it's in your name. the game is not going to let you die” and jimi like “you really think so? aw thanks man” neither of them knowing that dying as a life player in this game is literally like in the job description. (ok. i kind of feel like i’m letting jimi down by basing his story so far around other people.. but this is just for fun and i can always change it later)
(also i could easily have put tangoe and jimi as doom players too but for the fact that i don’t think they necessarily see through the game as much as scot does (or at all). and so life it is.)
feel free to ask me questions abt them!!! i have so many thoughts about this bro

classpects....? o.o (am watching from a corner w binoculars)
THE 'AURA EXPLAINS HERSELF' SEGMENT OF THE SHOW
Tumblr media
right. a bit naive of me to think no one would care enough to ask. i must warn you, what you're watching is a crash site, my friend. or a confessional scene. your pick. either way, welcome
so, firstly, i'm still assigning titles to siffrin and loop as a pair here and secondly, i'm going by classpect inverse rules for them just like before. a surprise tool that will help us later
in my previous assignment, i made siffrin a mage of doom and, conversely, loop an heir of life. i've since moved on to greener classpect pastures but let me explain myself on this wild pick first. i'll tell why i've done this:
i stupidly mixed and matched domains of time and doom aspects in my head ✌️
mostly that. some of it was also really wanting loop to be the heir of life because that's like the epitome of a progress-providing guide they end up being and it seemed really funny. but most of it was time and doom being unfortunately deceivingly similar to me. happens! i guess! in my defense, they really are quite similar, if you really get into it, aaaaand doom has the entire thing with sacrifice and being a cosmic joke - but at the end of the day, there's more time elements there sighh. a bit embarrassing that i'd defended my train of thought so valiantly but i was, in fact, incorrect. we move either way
so my main defense was that mages learn through experiencing all parts of their aspect and, by the end, possess enough knowledge to self-actualize. and doom is largely about entropy and things passing, and letting go. also rogue of doom did not fit them at all so mage was the thing that made most sense
but yeah, the more obvious title of the rogue of time fits siffrin better, y'all we're right, i'm ready to admit it, fine
time is mostly about death and passing, but the thing that evaded me in my initial analysis was that it's very much about endings too. and siffrin, subconsciously, steals away the end again and again. some other rogue of time propaganda:
firstly, their ability of speeding up the party is a huge point towards that, i can't believe i somehow forgot about it. passing on the turn less so, isa can do that too, but the point stands that they literally redistribute time in favor of their party. secondly, duhhhh time travel, not much to add here. thirdly, seeing doomed versions of yourself is. yeah. very time-coded. similarly, having your fckin time clone just hanging around is. time-coded. speaking of.
you know what is the most important here, though? the thing that made me rethink my initial analysis?
MAKING LOOP THE KNIGHT OF SPACE IS EVEN FUNNIER THAN THEM BEING THE HEIR OF LIFE
so knights, other than their usual quests and tasks, and business with their own aspect, are meant to help the space player create the universe frog in the game. but if the space player is the knight, they're So Screwed. cosmic joke type of character. can't catch a break. everything on their shoulders. it's so funny to make loop that, and when i realized that rogue of time inverses into that, i immediately started thinking that hmmm you know maybe it does have some merit......
so yeah, thank you loop for bringing me over to the light side with your sheer propensity for tragedy. i took the scenic route but we're here now
oh yeah mira is still a knight of breath and king is still the prince of hope. idk about the others yet even if odile immediately seems to signal either mind with her. entire thing. or heart with her search for identity. and isa has some page-ism about him maybe, and bonnie feels? like they'd be rage, and it'd pair nicely with the king's aspect. but idk, not yet lmao
anyway thanks for listening to my penance, have some doodles i made when figuring it all out as i was messing around with an old brush

Homestuck Ultrakill classpects go!!!
Gabriel - Maid of Rage, Prospit dreamer
Minos - Sylph of Blood, Derse dreamer
Sisyphus - LORD of Time, Prospit dreamer
(These are my short-ish explanations loosely based on optimisticDuelist and @/ homestuckexamination's classpects analysis + the official homestuck personality test btw, I haven't studied classpect stuff in years tho so I might be very off lmao I'd love to hear opinions)
Gabriel: Maids tend to have a character arc where they realize they aren't meant to serve someone else, but themselves (Like how Gabriel freed himself from the Council), Rage because one of it's main traits is hating a system built on lies and willing to tear it all down preferring anarchy over such lies (Literally Gabriel), Prospit dreamer is uhh mostly just a hunch, it jus feels right, for reference Prospit dreamers tend to live more in the moment and just be themselves and also tend to tidy up their bedroom, while Derse dreamers tend to live in the past, putting up a mask to hide their true self, and having a messy bedroom. So yeah idk Gabriel has Prospit vibes
Minos: Sylphs are selfless creators/makers. Blood is the aspect for someone who is an inspirational leader, whose strength comes from close friends and allies. Derse dreamer... is also a hunch lmao, he'd just look better in the Derse's purple clothes don't you think? He also seems like the type that constantly thinks about the past.
Sisyphus: Lords are Commanders, and it's also one of the most powerful classes (along with it's selfless counterpart, the Muse), the Time aspect is for people who constantly fight agaisnt what fate has in store for them. Prospit dreamer because he lives in the moment being himself, no need to think too much about past failures. Also he'd look terrible in purple clothes lmao.
This probably sounds like a bunch of nonsense to non-homestucks but I hope those who read everything enjoyed it lol, I'd also love to hear other classpects headcanons, I'll try to make more if I can think of it, I tried thinking of one for V1 but I don't think his personality and story arc is all that clear to make one for him.

My guesses of what the Candy/Omega Kids' Classpects will be
Currently, we lack information on both the classes and aspects of all the new BC-original characters. But since they all seem to be entering the game, and Vrissy in particular has been confirmed to have a god-tier outfit, it's safe to assume that they'll have classpects.
A theory that's been common since the original launch of ^2 is that the Candy kids will have the Classes & Apects which remained unused by the Beta & Alpha kids. I agree with this, as continuing the pattern would let the team examine the less explored parts of the classpect system, and help separate the Omega kids from their parents. Furthermore, I think that the new kids just represent the unused aspects very well. So, as for which person I think goes which which class & aspect, I believe the following: Yiffany "Yiffy" Longstocking - Sylph of Rage Tavros "Tavvy" Crocker - Bard of Doom Harry Anderson Egbert - Mage of Blood Vriska "Vrissy" Maryam-lalonde - Thief of Mind
I have considerate faith in my aspect guesses, though less so in my Class guesses.
As justification for Yiffy being Rage, I am simply going to post this excerpt from Page 562 and the EZ Rage description and let them speak for themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for her being a Sylph (with sylph meaning "understands their aspect"), I think her attitude of thinking she understands everything about how the world works fits that description.
(Alternatively, she could be a Bard because her muteness and the orderly bullshit she's dragged into [like being held captive or, even worse, private boarding school] prevent her from showing her rage at all times [in a similar manner to how Gamzee's sopor, Kurloz's sewed lips, and dirk's overthinking suppressed their aspects]. Not to mention, her love of watching shit get destroyed. This class has a blatant issue, which is that she shares it with Gamzee, which is why I have my doubts on it despite it lining up so well with her character.) As for Tavvy, I say he's Doombound because of him being the Crockercorp CEO's son. Being in that position, he's been put onto the side of the organization/empire that's brought most of the suffering and conflict currently encapsulating Earth-C. Tavvy's whole attitude also has an aura of 'doom and gloom,' to it, even in comparison to the original Tavros Nitram. Also, it should be noted that him being Doombound would be an interesting subversion of Jane & Meenah, the previous Crockers, being lifebound.
I say he's a Bard because he goes against the Doom-full situation he's been stuck in, albeit in minor ways. He's allied with the resistance, and is dating the daughter of one of the main resistance leaders. And despite him not being the most optimistic, he doesn't let it show too much. Harry and Vrissy were a bit harder for me to decide on. Starting with Harry, he's described as a "social climber," in the patreon commentary of the page where we saw his phone, works with others for musical plays, and appears to be the person who's most into the celebrity-esque role thrust onto him by his literal-son-of-god status. He also appears to be closer to his parents than the others are, or at the very least talks about them more. Being bloodbound would give yet another candy kid an inversion of their parent's aspect, as he's the opposite of John's Breath. Lastly, I want to add the anecdote that when Vrissy makes fun of Tavvy for his genocidal parent during the pre-hiatus run, he's the first person to say that it's not cool to bring Tavvy down for that.
Mages are a... confusing class, and one with very little to work with. My personal (and admittedly unpopular take) is that it's the Active equivalent of either Heir or Maid. Since the role of popularity is something which has been thrust onto him more than note, and because he gets dragged along with his parents' feelings consistently, I think it fits.
Lastly for the Omegas: Vrissy. One class and one aspect remain: Thief and Mind. Firstly, I would like to mention that Vrissy has not once been shown bearing the Scorpio sign. It's nowhere to be seen on her outfit, and when she texts someone her face is used instead of any symbol. As such, there's nothing tying her to Light, Despite Vriska and Aranea both being Lightbound. Considering that this story has gone out of its way to never associate her with Light, I believe her aspect is something else. My best guess is Mind. I say this because unlike Vriska, who's usually going straight into things without a plan, Vrissy consistently comes up with a plan before taking a step forward, though given that she's still a Serket, this usually results in her arguing with her friends while trying to make said plans. Finally, Vrissy being Mindbound makes her a Serket with the Pyropes' aspect, while her being a thief shows some inheritance from Vriska.
The previously mentioned arguing is also why I say she's a Thief. She's the one making her partners go through impulsive shenanigans for her, may it be to hide a body or to crawl through a window for a makeout session. Also, her improved Vriska mind control abilities enable her to literally steal minds.
Aaaaaannndd that's it. I was originally going to conjecture over the Deltritus kids as well, but I'll save that for another post since this one has gone on long enough. Just as a bonus: Harry, Vrissy, and the Satyrs (Dirk's Species) are Prospitan, while Tavvy, Yiffy, and the Nymphs (Rose's Species) are Derse. Why? Because it came to me in a dream goodbye

Ever wonder what would've happened if The Owl house aired in 2013?
That's right.
We would have had an OWLSTUCK.
They would've been rendered accordingly and there would've been a short-lived comic spoken of fondly by both fanbases.
Anyway here are some kids and their classpects.
Luz Noceda - Page of Light. Duh. Most obvious one on this list. You *could* make a very strong argument for Page of Hope too, but aside from her name literally BEING Light, I think it fits a bit more. Too bad you can't multi-aspect. Though let's be real, if anybody COULD, it would be Luz Noceda, so who knows, maybe that's her special Snest (in-world Sburb variant) given gift.
Amity Blight - Witch of Breath. Breath is a lot to do with one's self in the sense of self-actualization and understanding. She needed a lil help getting there but I feel Amity fits this quite well!
Willow Park - Mage of Life. In Homestuck, Life as an aspect is most closely tied to healing, but it can also be quite literal, as we do see Life aspected characters resurrect dead friends. I think if any aspect would allow one to wield life in the most literal sense via battle plants, it'd be, well, Life!
Gus Porter - Seer of Mind. This is a class and aspect wombo combo that fits him to a goddamn T. He's far sharper about others thoughts and natures than people think, including himself. Learning to trust in his intuition is his arc. He has a pretty good grasp of others, even if he does tend to try to focus more on the good bits than the bad, even when the latter may be pertinent.
King Clawthorne - Prince of Blood. Literal royalty in name and nature, with the Blood of the Titan running through his veins whether he realizes it or not. A Prince is an active destructive class with incredible offensive capability, one that destroys its aspect or through it, in this case, Blood. As a Titan, that potential is there for King. But we know the little guy wouldn't use it unless he had to. Right?
Hunter - Heir of Time. Of all the characters, no one fits the aspect of Time better than Hunter given his relations and just how many of him have existed throughout the ages. And as for Heir, I mean, could it be any more obvious?
Vee - Sylph of Space. Conceptually, Space means a lot of things in Homestuck, and is seen by the fandom as one of the "fundamental" aspects. A common theory is no game has a potential to win without both a Space and Time player. But one thing Space represents is Form and Boundary. It is the amorphous stage the play of reality is set upon. What better for a shapeshifter? Sylphs are essentially a Healer class.
Masha - Rogue of Doom. A Thief steals for their own benefit, and a Rogue for the benefit of others. Masha Stole Doom from the entirety of her Reality Check Summer Camp crew, *especially* Vee, giving her her very first friend, potential crush, and a new home and lease on life.
The Collector - Lord of Void. He is Everything and Nothing and can create or uncreate both at will. The Lord embodies their aspect to the absolute. They are a Master class, all-powerful and uncontested in their domain. He is a leftover from a previous game of Snest, one played between just two people, the other, of course, being...
Papa Titan - Muse of Life. We've never seen an adult play any variant of Sburb. But to deal with the Collector and his games, I think he may have had no choice. A Muse, too, is a Master Class, but far more passive. The Titan is how all life in the Demon Realm exists. The Titan *is* the Isles. How much more Life-aligned can you be? And as effectively just a corpse at this point, obviously, he's pretty passive.
Emperor Belos - Knight of Rage. A perfect mastery of his aspect to both directly harm and to manipulate, a truly terrifying foe. Again, adults aren't normally players, but, you better believe he's the reason this whole damn apocalypse happened in the first place.
Boom wrote that up in like 20 minutes, welcome to my special hell.
If by chance somebody actually *likes* this and wants more for some godforsaken reason, I'll give the kids a strife specibus too.

Hey I actually was wondering if there is an alternate timeline where that Gray Blooded Karkat and Tavris actually got to live, or if that was just a what-if thing. Because I think it would be interesting if that means in that timeline everything is the same, but Tavris is alive along with Tavros (both being azure signs) and gray bloods are a thing.
In that case would that as well mean that gray bloods are a separate blood caste or would they just be identified under the lime blood bracket like how Mutants are?
Also, one last question. Can all the sprites choose which godtiers they use the powers of? (Erisol being a Prince of Doom and Mage of Hope, Arquius being a Prince of Void and Heir of Heart, etc)
I am just curious because I would love to make gray blood ocs and am curious if Tavris lived in another timeline since they’re one of my favorite underutilized/underdeveloped sprites!
Hi, well those are all just what-if scenarios. when it comes to Tavris, i made a random timeline where they could live. the details about the silverblood caste are in it's own post.
as for the sprites, only davepeta can switch claspects, the otherones are definitive. i'll link the posts down.

Fan classes? Uh, judge of Void, dose that mean they can like, rule it or lock it away or?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YEAH! Fan classes. From left to right, the rogue here's from cannon but the Dunce of Blood and Judge of Void are not. I only have 2 fan classes out of the full set of 36 trolls, mostly because I didn't want to dupe any cannon classpect combos so these guys were a kind of 'get out of jail free' card or way for me to experiment more when I just had a funny idea. Below the cut is some writing on the subject:
Dunce of Blood. Orthid, once much more judgmental and skeptical, has graduated from getting involved in others business. Instead she acts with blind faith, relaxed and confident. Her support is invaluable, and she doesn’t need to know anything for her bonds to stay strong. Dunce is class empowering blind faith. Where as a mage suffers the consequence of knowing, a dunce needs to know nothing and suffers not. It’s sort of an ‘idiot savant’ type ability.
Judge of Void. As a jadeblood believer of culling, Themis judges the ways in which others are inadequate and wishes to impose fate on them. A judge is a leadership position who excises control over players and their aspect. Essentially, she judges about them what is VOID, what is WORTHLESS. Themis can create black holes and dismiss other player’s powers for some time. However, perhaps the void aspect of her powers mean her ‘judgements’ themselves are what mean truly nothing. When their judgments are denied or made obsolete by others, the judge loses their control.
When Orthid learns that her hemoanon best friend is a purpleblood, she has a bit of a crisis because she didn't expect that. She's also struggling as a former hemoanon herself being forced to represent her own bloodtype and being seen that way by others. To make matters worse, society is pushing the two apart. Orthid's godtier represents her moving past worrying about stuff like that so she can once more embrace her friendships, and as a dunce, everything just sort of 'works out.'
Themis on the other hand was intended to be a villain leader character, who's irritated by the blatent disrespect for the hemocaste and society itself put on display by her fellow players. She believes one job of jadebloods is to cull grubs showing signs of being too weak to live or not contributing to the empire--this is conflated with Artemis, the greek god of the hunt, as one of the god's domains was killing young girls and babies. Essentially, she held dominion of both the life and death of girls. There's a metaphor conflating deadly birth defects with invisible arrows--doing just enough, highly precise damage to take the little one's life. Additionally, jadebloods are expected to be a group of virgin nuns, not unlike Artemis's hunters. I know lots of people like Artemis, but it's important to remember she was a complex figure. I think Themis can represent that in a really interesting way, as she carries with her a cruel responsibility she believes is incredibly important.

opinion on yiffy as a mage of mind? imo it works well since every facet of her suffering is because of some decision- her capture is from jade and roses decision to tell jane ab her, her school-based isolation was because of jade deciding to have a baby with a married woman, even her tail is from the decision to god-tier!
this is just like a very interesting way to go about classpecting someone… like yeah everyone’s existence is due to choices made before their birth. tavvy wouldnt have been born if not for jane choosing to intoxicate jake etc
but as for my actual thoughts of yiffy mage of mind… i don’t know! i DO like the theory that the omega kids will represent the four yet-unrepresented aspects, but i’m not sure who would really be what.
the thing about aspects for me is that they are fucking all-encompassing. they paradoxically inform absolutely nothing about a character’s personality and yet also everything. only sburb players can have them, so it’s really just game nonsense— yet sburb players can’t exist without the game, so doesn’t game nonsense really make up their dna?
dave for instance— i don’t think he could be anything but time. it simply isn’t possible, because his fucking dna, his core of self is built for sburb as a time player. people like to theorize that davesprite would have a separate classpect— but he wouldn’t. davesprite completed dave’s time quest. davesprite made the necessary sacrifices to save and preserve time, fought for it and suffered for it. he’s not a real player now, sure, but he’ll always be time because that’s who he is; it’s unchangeable.
simultaneously i do also think that classpects are not as rigid as people pretend. callie describes them like genders; i think this is meant in a different way than most people assume. not because classpects are nothing like gender, but because gender itself works much differently then people think. gender isn’t actually two boxes you can checkmark. gender is a scale, a gradient, a spectrum… or, it you’ll bear with me, a pyramid ;)
what i’m saying is that aspects are like gender in that it’s incredible personal and defining, yet at the same time the rules are not actually real, and two of the same classpect could act totally different. does this make sense?
the difference between aspect and gender is that aspects are a core thing that does not change because it’s quite literally a time paradox built around destiny.
okay, that was way too much rambling about how i think aspects work. all of this to say:
i don’t know what aspects the omega kids will be yet. but i think when we find out, it’ll feel natural, and probably, like it was obvious all along.
that being said i do like the common take that yiffy might be blood-bound. mostly because it’s red. but also because i think it’s really fucked up to give her the same aspect as karkat.

hey i got into a Media you know what that means.
(im classpecting the beebos. lmao.)
this is not!!!! going to be super in depth!!!!!! im lazy and theres a lot of characters to go through. gonna !!! put it under the cut so its not super long, though.
Beebo - Rogue of Light Light is fortune and information and Rogues steal their aspect for the sake of others. Oliver would be the puzzle solving classpect, taking information and using it for the benefit of the people around him. Rogues also do the stealing thing passively, though. In giving his information away, he also gives away his luck. He's an awfully unlucky guy.
Ángel - Heir of Void Look I know this is Equius's classpect. I try not to overlap. But look at him. Void is the aspect of secrecy and Heirs become their aspect. Things kinda work out for him, but it's not like he fades into the background. He's surrounded by obscurity but his actions are known - it's just the guy himself who's a mystery. Everything Ángel is is a lie.
Vivi - Knight of Heart Heart players are self oriented and Knights serve others. Which makes a Knight of Heart sound oxymoronic. Unless its someone who uses their knowledge of people and their own importance to serve others. Like, I dunno, a reporter who gets someone jailed? The photobook also screams Heart.
Nina - Sylph of Hope Sylphs are considered the 'healer' class, Hope is the aspect of belief. Gestures. She believes in the good of others and on multiple occasions her convictions lead to them bettering themselves. She's also very willing to believe in people who others think don't deserve it. She'll throw herself away for the sake of others.
Marigold - Witch of Mind Witch of Mind is a scary classpect lmao. But more than that Witches are manipulate their aspect. Mind is logical but not always rational. Mari's smart and knows when to put her foot down, she also plans real carefully. But more than that, the combination can lead to her sometimes coming off as cold or uncaring even when she knows she's making the correct choice.
Eugene - Bard of Doom I think being a passive class would piss him off. I think being an aspect associated with death would also piss him off. But for serious: Bards tend to reject their aspect and he lives life like it's a checklist. Like Doom can't come for him if he works hard enough. The house plays into that, he can't die! He passes the Doom onto others. But he can't run forever. Eventually it will catch up to him.
Nadia - Mage of Rage Rage is volatile but Mages have a clear understanding of their aspect. Nadia's an angry kid, y'know? But she uses that to her advantage. She pushes peoples buttons when she needs to and she's not often very outwardly afraid for herself. She serves her own whims but she's still more than willing to go out of her way for people she cares about!
Simon - Page of Blood Pages are the class most likely to be written off and also the one most desperate for approval. Blood is about bonds, connection. Simon tries desperately to gain and maintain the approval of his father only to be repeatedly sidelined and hurt for his desire for that connection. It makes him feel worthless.
Owen - Prince of Light There was bound to be some overlap at some point. And I think it's sweet for Owen's aspect to mirror Oliver's. Princes destroy their aspect with their aspect so they mirror their opposite. Owen takes information and shrouds it in mystery while still giving that information away. He also, unfortunately, ends up pretty unlucky.

Classpects
A “Classpect” is a player’s title in Sburb, which uses the formula [Class] of [Aspect]. Not only does a Classpect dictate a player's reality-bending powers, but it defines a player’s place in their session, their place in reality, and their place within the narrative itself.
There are two components that make up a player's Classpect: their aspect and their class. There are 12 aspects and 14 classes in total. Hypothetically, ANY player could be ANY of the 168 total combos of these, no matter the person, but Sburb will narrow down the options and pick a player’s Classpect depending on how it thinks it can BEST use them in the game/their specific session.
A Classpect is chosen via a sort of “sorting hat” method. The person you are (struggles, goals, gaming strategies, how you interact with the world and others, etc.) inadvertently dictates your Classpect, but that is only BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. Once you’ve entered Sburb, Skaia will ultimately decide your role based on everything it gathered, and you are stuck with it whether you like it or not.
[In total: Classpects are a predetermined in-game role to fulfill as well as a narrative tool.]
Aspects
Aspects are described as “the basic building blocks of everything that exists within paradox space”; a cosmic property that relates MOST to a player and that they have the potential to BEST excel at.
A player’s aspect is always something the player starts out STRUGGLING with in some way. No one ever has total control or knowledge of their aspect right off the bat. It is something that challenges the player and must be learned over time so the player can grow and reach their full potential as a Hero of their aspect.
Aspects are a neutral and nuanced concept- no aspect is inherently good nor bad.
The 12 aspects: Breath, Light, Time, Space, Life, Hope, Void, Heart, Blood, Mind, Doom, and Rage.
Breath: The aspect of freedom and detachment. Breath is impossible to hold down, easy breezy, head in the clouds, go with the flow. Breath is breeze, movement, flight, weightlessness, indirection, and independence. Breath blows whatever way it feels like, not caring about much else.
Narrative connection: Plot development.
Breath’s opposing aspect is Blood.
Light: The aspect of knowledge and illumination. Light exposes the hidden, brightens the dark corners, brings things into the spotlight. Light is relevance, illumination, luck, enlightenment, sight, visibility, definition, and attention. Light brings itself to what is hidden in the dark.
Narrative connection: Plot relevance.
Lights opposing aspect is Void.
Time: The aspect of rhythm and destruction. Time is connected to death, the past and future, taking action, small details, the destination over the journey. Time is repetition, iteration, cycles, pace, patterns, preservation, decay, continuity, and management. Time is the steady tick of a clock, the constant rotation of an ever-turning gear.
Narrative connection: Pacing.
Times opposing aspect is Space.
[Time is one of the fundamental fabrics making up paradox space and is therefore an aspect required to win Sburb. If your session does not have a Time player, your session is doomed to fail.]
Space: The aspect of creation and beginnings. Space is new things, focused on the wait-and-see, the big picture, the here-and-now, the journey over the destination. Space is destiny, matter, physics, making, innovation, and intuition. Space is a vast endless infinity of possibility.
Narrative connection: Setting.
Spaces opposing aspect is Time.
[Space is one of the fundamental fabrics making up paradox space and is therefore an aspect required to win Sburb. If your session does not have a Space player, your session is doomed to fail.]
Life: The aspect of agency and autonomy. Life is foraging your own path, own destiny, self-direction, growing and strengthening. Life is nature, health, resilience, energy, progress, healing, vitality, and nourishment. Life sees its route and fights to take it.
Narrative connection: Agency/action.
Life’s opposing aspect is Doom.
Hope: The aspect of belief. Hope is dreams and wishes, blind optimism, unstoppable force, the "there’s always a way, nothings impossible". Hope is faith, possibility, positivity, will, imagination, and determination. Hope is a clear, enthusiastic "YES!".
Narrative connection: Convenience.
Hopes opposing aspect is Rage.
Void: The aspect of nothingness and the unknown. Void is a blank canvas, an empty page, a dark corner, a shadow concealing darkness. Void is secrets, mystery, invisibility, unexplained, ignorance, irrelevance, and uncertainty. Void obscures what the light can't reach.
Narrative connection: Plot irrelevance.
Voids opposing aspect is Light.
Heart: The aspect of feeling and self. Heart is the core of a person, their identity, passions and interests, the soul, feelings instead of thoughts. Heart is motivation, love, emotions, uniqueness, personal, individualism, bias, and passion. Heart follows itself.
Narrative connection: Inner self.
Hearts opposing aspect is Mind.
Blood: The aspect of unity. Blood is down to earth, grounded and chained, has expectations, forms relationships. Blood is community, responsibility, care, effort, stability, obligation, and connection. Blood is running through everyone's veins and knows it.
Narrative connection: Character dynamics.
Blood’s opposing aspect is Breath.
Mind: The aspect of thought. Mind is unbiased decision making, apathy, black and white, blends in with the crowd. Mind is equality, ration, logic, reason, judgement, calculation, choice, balance, and justification. Mind pushes away feelings and thinks instead.
Narrative connection: Outer self.
Minds opposing aspect is Heart.
Doom: The aspect of fate and constraint. Doom works within the rules, within restriction, follows damands. Doom is burdens, prophecy, acceptance, necessity, limitation, punishment, and misfortune. Doom does not negotiate against the inevitable.
Narrative connection: Conflict.
Doom’s opposing aspect is Life.
Rage: The aspect of refusal and rebellion. Rage is the ugly truth, holding back, immovable object, being stuck, “it’s impossible, there’s no way out”. Rage is cynicism, defiance, fury, negativity, anger, riot and revenge. Rage is a loud, guttural “NO!”.
Narrative connection: Contrivance.
Rage’s opposing aspect is Hope.
Classes
Classes are the second ingredient of the Classpect formula. Since an aspect is a cosmic property that relates most to a player, a class is how that player USES/INTERACTS with that cosmic property & its powers. Classes are NOT something a player struggles with and are just dictated by how they approach/play the game.
Classes are a neutral and nuanced concept- no class is a “worse/better” or “evolved” version of another, no class is gender locked, and no class is inherently good nor bad.
There are six functions of classes: creation, destruction, exploitation, manipulation, knowledge, and relocation.
[Creation: Bringing something into existence.
Destruction: Taking something out of existence.
Exploitation: Having something and using it.
Manipulation: Changing or altering something.
Knowledge: Knowing all about something.
Relocation: Stealing and/or moving something.]
The 14 classes: Heir, Seer, Knight, Witch, Maid, Page, Rogue, Prince, Mage, Sylph, Thief, and Bard, and the two master classes: Lord and Muse.
Heir: One who changes with their aspect or is changed through their aspect. Heirs inherit their aspect and can greatly use it for their session and coplayers.
Class function: Manipulation.
Heirs' counterpart class is Witch.
Seer: One who knows their aspect or knows through their aspect. Seers are knowledge-seekers who obtain information by observing, and guide their coplayers using what they learn.
Class function: Knowledge.
Seer's counterpart class is Mage.
Knight: One who fights for/protects their aspect or fights/protects using their aspect. Knights are set on serving and defending their session and coplayers, using their persona as a shield and their aspect as a weapon.
Class function: Exploitation.
Knight's counterpart class is Page.
Witch: One who alters/bends their aspect or alters/bends using their aspect. Witches utilize their powers to bend the rules and test the limits of their aspect and session itself.
Class function: Manipulation.
Witch's counterpart class is Heir.
Maid: One who serves/repairs their aspect or serves/repairs with their aspect. Maids clean, preserve, and maintain their session with/and their aspect, just as a housekeeper would.
Class function: Creation.
Maid's counterpart class is Sylph.
Page: One who strengthens their aspect or finds themselves through their aspect. Pages start out as weaker underdogs, but once their potential is fully realized, they can use their power to an astounding degree.
Class function: Exploitation.
Page's counterpart class is Knight.
Rogue: One who steals their aspect or steals from their aspect to provide others with it. Rouges take from their aspect and redistribute what they steal to their coplayers Robin Hood style.
Class function: Relocation.
Rouge's counterpart class is Thief.
Prince: One who destroys their aspect or destroys with their aspect. Princes are powerful, blunt forces in their session who once fully realized, will stop at nothing until they reach their goal.
Class function: Destruction.
Prince's counterpart class is Bard.
Mage: One who understands their aspect or understands through their aspect. Mages are the experiencers of their aspect that utilize their experience with it to guide themselves.
Class function: Knowledge.
Mage's counterpart class is Seer.
Thief: One who steals their aspect or steals from their aspect to keep themselves. Thieves are focused on taking from their session and others in it, then keeping that power for their own benefit.
Class function: Relocation.
Thief's counterpart class is Rogue.
Sylph: One who heals/mends their aspect or heals/mends using their aspect. Sylphs are vastly supportive to their coplayers through both backstage influence and personal interference.
Class function: Creation.
Sylph's counterpart class is Maid.
Bard: One who allows the destruction of their aspect or invites destruction through their aspect. Bards can be kind of a wildcard for their session, possibly for the best (or the worst).
Class function: Destruction.
Bard's counterpart class is Prince.
Master Classes
Lord: One who rules their aspect or rules using their aspect. Lords are intensely powerful domineers who command their aspect, session, and everything in it to bow down to them.
Lord's counterpart class is Muse.
Muse: One who inspires their aspect or inspires through their aspect. Muses are completely in tune with their aspect and influence their session with it, leading it like a conductor with their baton.
Muse's counterpart class is Lord.

Note
wouldn't an official sourcebook with clear definitions of what the classes do just kill off a lot of classpecting discussion?
since instead of doing the whole thing with comparing panels, poses and associated verbs, which i'm pretty sure is the main appeal of classpect baloneyscholary, they'd just check a wiki
right? it seems to me like such an extreme example of grasping for a short term reward (there is now an instruction manual for how to make my homestuck kidsona{?!}) at long term detriment (classpect as a hobby is dead forever)
even in the extremely specific examples where we know NOTHING about a class or aspect having a lookup table that tells you everything about it is only going to narrow the possibilities rather than broaden them. like you don't want a spreadsheet for all the mage+aspect combos you want a sequence in the comic where sollux uses some mage of doom powers so we can extrapolate. and that's never going to happen now so you just have to accept it. the tradeoff isn't worth it bro
