Severus Snape was not one to believe in the whimsicalities of fate. But then, there were days when he couldn't help but wonder if life had a funny way of playing with him. He had always considered himself a man of logic, someone who would not be swayed by frivolous emotions. And yet, there he was, daydreaming about Lily Evans in the middle of a rather important Potions lesson, staring out the window instead of focusing on the bubbling cauldron in front of him.
Lily, with her bright red hair and those emerald eyes that sparkled with warmth and kindness, had been his obsession since they first met at the age of nine. He was certain she'd never look at him the way he looked at her—how could she? He was just Severus Snape, the shy, awkward, slightly odd boy with a dark reputation, while she was the shining star, surrounded by friends who adored her.
But there was someone else in his Potions class who always caught his eye, though he tried to ignore it. Y/N. She wasn’t like Lily—no, Y/N had a quiet elegance about her, with a mysterious air that Severus found fascinating. Her long hair, dark as a raven’s wing, framed her face perfectly, and she always seemed lost in thought, as if she were pondering something far more important than whatever they were learning. She was pretty, yes, but she was also clever, independent, and a touch distant—qualities that Severus admired but also didn’t know how to approach.
He had never spoken to her, never had the courage to cross that boundary. Instead, he observed her from the corner of his eye, day after day. She was a Slytherin, though not in the same social circle as him but still a close friend to Narcissa Black. She was more quiet, more reserved, more… unlike the rest of the Slytherins who crowded the common room, loudly boasting about their latest exploits or schemes.
But then there was Lily, always at the forefront of his mind. Always. And that was the problem. Severus could never seem to break free of his obsession with her, and no matter how much he tried, it felt as though his heart would always belong to Lily Evans.
At least, until one afternoon, when the weight of his unrequited love for Lily was finally too much for some of his friends to bear.
"Severus," Lucius Malfoy said, his voice smooth as ever, leaning against the doorframe of their shared Potions classroom, "you've got to stop this nonsense with Evans."
Severus, who had been staring at the delicate glass vials lined up on the desk before him, stiffened at the sound of his name. Lucius always seemed to know when he was lost in his thoughts. Narcissa, standing beside him, was looking at Severus with an almost exasperated expression.
"She's never going to notice you, Severus," Narcissa added, her voice cool but tinged with concern. "We need to do something about it. You're wasting away."
Severus opened his mouth to protest, but Lucius cut him off.
"Don't bother," Lucius said with a sly grin. "We’ve already come up with a solution."
Before Severus could ask what that solution was, Narcissa flicked her blonde hair over her shoulder and smiled slyly.
"We’ve set you up on a date."
"A date?" Severus blinked, incredulous. "With who?"
Narcissa’s smile widened. "With one of my friends. I think you'll find her… quite interesting."
Severus didn’t have time to argue. Lucius was already pulling out a small piece of parchment with details scribbled hastily on it.
"It’s at Madam Pudifoot's Tea Shop," Lucius said. "Tomorrow. Seven o’clock. Don’t worry, we’ve arranged everything."
Severus’ stomach tightened in a mixture of anxiety and confusion. He didn’t want this. He didn’t need it. But as Narcissa’s gaze bore into him, he realized that he had little choice in the matter.
The next day, Severus found himself pacing outside the entrance to Madam Pudifoot’s, the quaint and overly pink tea shop that had somehow become popular among Hogwarts students, despite its tendency to give him a headache just by looking at it. He felt utterly out of place, his black robes stark against the pastel-colored walls and frilly tablecloths.
When he walked in, a bell tinkled above the door, and the smell of lavender tea and scones wafted through the air. Severus couldn’t help but feel a little ridiculous as he stood in the doorway, searching for the person he was supposed to meet. He half-hoped to see Lily waiting for him, but of course, that was impossible. This was a blind date, arranged by Narcissa, and he had no idea who he was supposed to be meeting.
Then, as if from nowhere, a soft, melodic voice caught his attention.
"Severus? Are you… Severus Snape?"
He turned, and there she was. Y/N.
Her long dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her green dress seemed to shimmer in the soft lighting of the shop. Her smile was warm, but there was a nervous edge to it, just like the way he was feeling.
"Y/N?" he asked, almost too quietly. "What are you doing here?"
She tilted her head, her lips curling into a small, amused grin. "It seems that Narcissa thought it would be fun to set us up." She raised an eyebrow. "I’m assuming you're as surprised as I am."
Severus felt his heart skip a beat. He hadn’t been expecting this. He had been bracing himself for an awkward encounter with someone else entirely, but here was Y/N—the very person he had admired from afar, sitting across from him at a small table, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
"I—" Severus stopped himself, unsure of what to say. "I didn’t know it was you."
"Neither did I," she admitted with a soft laugh. "But I suppose we’re here now, so we might as well enjoy it."
They sat in a slightly awkward silence for a moment before the waitress arrived, offering them menus. Severus found himself staring at the menu, but he wasn’t really seeing it. His mind was spinning. Y/N was here. On a date. With him. Not Lily. Y/N.
"So," Y/N said after a moment, breaking the silence, "what have you been up to, Severus? I don’t think we’ve ever really had a proper conversation before."
It was true. They hadn’t. And Severus found himself oddly relieved. This was a blank slate, a chance to get to know her, not as the distant girl in his Potions class, but as someone who might actually become… more.
"I—well, I've been working on my Potions," Severus said, then immediately regretted it. "You know, trying to perfect a few of them."
Y/N smiled, a knowing look in her eyes. "I’ve always thought you were one of the best in Potions," she said, and Severus felt a heat rise in his cheeks. "But you’re also a bit of a mystery, Severus. Why is that?"
His heart pounded a little faster at the question. It was so open, so direct. There was something in her eyes—an understanding, maybe? Or a curiosity?
"I suppose… I’m not very good at opening up to people," Severus confessed, his voice quieter now. "I’ve never really been one for… socializing."
Y/N nodded, her expression thoughtful. "I understand. I’m not exactly the most social person either." She paused. "But sometimes it’s nice to have someone to talk to, don’t you think?"
Severus found himself nodding, but he was still unsure. Was this really happening? Was he really sitting here, with Y/N? It felt almost surreal.
The evening passed quickly, and to Severus’ surprise, he found himself genuinely enjoying the conversation. They talked about everything and nothing—Potions, of course, but also books, the latest gossip at Hogwarts, and their shared experiences as Slytherins in a school that often seemed to push them to the sidelines. By the time they finished their tea and dessert, Severus realized something he hadn’t expected: he was no longer thinking about Lily.
Instead, he was thinking about Y/N.
They walked out of the tea shop together, and Severus felt a sense of peace he hadn’t known in a long time. The night air was cool against his skin, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. In fact, it felt oddly comforting.
"I… I’m glad Narcissa set this up," Severus said quietly, not looking at her but feeling her presence next to him, comforting and warm.
"Me too," Y/N agreed. "I think we make a good pair."
Severus couldn’t help but smile. It was an unfamiliar feeling, but he liked it.
Maybe, just maybe, fate had a hand in this after all.
Weeks had passed since that fateful evening at Madam Pudifoot’s. Severus found himself thinking about Y/N more often than he had ever thought about anything else. Their dates—yes, dates—had become a regular occurrence. After that first meeting, he had found that Y/N was a surprisingly easy person to be around. They’d spent time in quiet corners of the library, discussing their shared love for Potions and the art of brewing the most complicated of brews. They’d visited Hogsmeade together, strolling through the cobbled streets with nothing but the sound of the wind and their quiet laughter accompanying them.
Each date, each conversation, left Severus feeling more at ease. He never expected to enjoy spending time with anyone as much as he enjoyed being with her. For the first time in what felt like forever, he found himself genuinely looking forward to seeing someone—not just because she was a welcome distraction, but because she was someone who understood him in a way that few people ever had.
Y/N, for her part, seemed equally comfortable with him. The distance he’d once put between them, the awkwardness, had slowly vanished as the weeks passed. Her wit and intelligence matched his own, and they both found joy in the most mundane of activities, simply because they were in each other’s company.
It wasn’t just that she was pretty—though she was undeniably that—it was her quiet, thoughtful nature, the way she could sit with him for hours in companionable silence, or the way she would challenge him in discussions about magic, Potions, and life itself.
Severus had never believed in love at first sight. But he was beginning to wonder if there was something more than coincidence behind the way things were unfolding.
One afternoon, as Severus sat in the Slytherin common room, his mind lost in thoughts of Y/N, he was interrupted by a familiar voice.
"Severus."
He looked up to see Lucius Malfoy standing there, a curious expression on his face. Narcissa was just behind him, her eyes gleaming with the same sort of interest that Severus had come to recognize in them when they were scheming.
"Lucius," Severus said, his voice a little guarded. He wasn’t exactly keen on being interrogated about his personal life, but given his friends' penchant for prying, he suspected that was exactly what was about to happen.
Narcissa took a seat next to him, her tone casual, but with a knowing edge. "We’ve been noticing something, Severus," she said, her eyes narrowing slightly in amusement. "You’ve been spending an awful lot of time with Y/N lately."
Severus stiffened slightly, though he did his best to hide it. "I… I suppose we’ve gotten along well. What of it?"
Lucius raised an eyebrow. "I’m asking because it seems that you’ve… become rather fond of her." He let the words hang in the air, almost as if testing the waters.
Severus felt a knot form in his stomach. He didn’t want to admit it—not to Lucius, not to Narcissa—but it was true. He had become fond of Y/N. More than fond, if he was being honest with himself. His feelings for her had only grown stronger with each passing day. She was no longer just the girl he’d noticed from afar in Potions class—she was someone he genuinely cared about.
He opened his mouth, then closed it, unsure of how to respond.
Lucius, ever the opportunist, pressed further. "So, Severus, tell me. Is it serious between you two?"
Narcissa leaned in slightly, her expression softening as she spoke. "You’ve always been rather reserved with your emotions, Severus. But if it’s serious, you should be honest with yourself. And with her."
Severus’ heart was pounding in his chest. He hadn’t fully acknowledged it yet, not in the way Narcissa and Lucius seemed to want him to, but the question was inevitable. He had spent weeks with Y/N, sharing laughs and moments of genuine connection. He was feeling something, something deep and real.
"I—" Severus hesitated, his mind racing, "I think it might be."
Lucius grinned, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Well, there you go. I always knew you weren’t as hopeless as you let on."
Narcissa, ever the more calculating of the two, tilted her head thoughtfully. "You should talk to her about it, Severus. Don’t let this opportunity slip away." Her voice was calm, but there was a sincerity there that Severus hadn’t expected.
The next day, Severus found himself walking down to the courtyard where he and Y/N had agreed to meet. His thoughts were a jumbled mess. Lucius’ questions had brought everything into sharp focus: he did care for Y/N. More than care, he wanted to be with her. He hadn’t been sure of it at first—he’d been so consumed by his obsession with Lily, by his doubts and insecurities. But with Y/N, it felt different. She made him feel seen, understood in a way no one else had.
As he approached the spot where they had planned to meet, he saw her sitting by the fountain, her back to him, her long hair swaying gently in the breeze. The sight of her heartened him, but also left him feeling a bit anxious. He had no idea how she felt about him. Was she just enjoying their time together? Or had she begun to feel something more?
When she turned and saw him, a smile blossomed on her face, and Severus felt his anxiety melt away, just a little.
"Severus," she greeted, standing and brushing the grass from her robes. "You’re early today."
"I wasn’t sure if you’d be on time," Severus replied, his voice softer than usual. "But I’m glad you’re here."
They fell into a comfortable silence for a moment, as they often did, both of them unsure of what to say next. Then, Y/N spoke, her voice quieter than before.
"You’ve been distant lately," she said, her eyes searching his. "I can tell there’s something on your mind."
Severus took a deep breath. This was it. He couldn’t keep hiding behind his doubts. Not anymore.
"I’ve been thinking about us," he said, his voice steady but his heart racing. "And I realized something… I care about you, Y/N. More than I’ve ever cared about anyone."
Y/N’s eyes widened in surprise, but there was no fear in them, only curiosity and something else. Hope, maybe. Her lips parted slightly, as though she was about to say something, but Severus took a step closer, not wanting to wait any longer.
"I know I’ve been… hesitant," he continued. "But after everything we’ve shared, I can’t deny how I feel. You’re not just a distraction for me. You’re not just some pretty face. You make me feel things I didn’t know I could feel."
For a moment, there was only the sound of the wind between them. Then Y/N stepped forward, closing the distance, her hands reaching for his.
"Severus," she whispered, her voice soft yet clear. "I’ve felt the same way. I didn’t know how to say it, but… I’m glad you did."
And in that moment, as if the entire world had aligned just for them, Severus felt his heart swell with emotion. Slowly, he leaned in, his breath hitching, and pressed his lips gently to hers.
It was tentative at first—neither of them sure how to navigate this new, delicate part of their relationship. But as the seconds passed, it became more natural, more real. The kiss deepened, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Severus felt truly alive. All the confusion, the doubt, the years of loneliness—it all melted away in the warmth of Y/N’s kiss.
When they finally pulled apart, Severus kept his forehead resting against hers, his hands still holding hers.
"So," Y/N said softly, her smile shy but sincere, "does this mean we're… official?"
Severus smirked, his usual guarded expression slipping away in the face of her warmth. "I think it does."
And for the first time in years, Severus Snape felt like he had found something worth fighting for. Something more important than anything he had ever known.
The next few weeks passed in a blur of shared moments, laughter, and quiet companionship. Severus had never felt more certain about anything. Y/N was his, and he was hers. And in the quiet of the night, when the world seemed still and he allowed himself a rare moment of peace, Severus couldn’t help but think that perhaps, just perhaps, he had found something even more powerful than magic.
Love.

"All rumours told, a Malfoy daughter had not been born in near three hundred years, since the time of the great Dark witch — Morwenna the Malicious. They were said to have drowned each girl child at birth because of the madness that had infected every one of them, a blood blight cursed upon the Noble House of Malfoy centuries past.
Whether Lyra Malfoy was mad or not was never in question — only how she would use her madness to change the Wizarding World as they knew it."

✨ELOISE APOLLONIA BABBIT✨

My sweet and entirely too introspective girl🥹
She was born the second child of Oberon Babbit and Elladora Black in 1874. Her older brother, Leonard, has been prepared from birth to inherit everything and carry on the family name. (I love Leo so so so much too♥️). The Babbits are one of the oldest, most powerful wizarding families and quite reclusive, being able to trace their lineage back to pre-Roman times. If the Babbits had been around in the 1930s when the Sacred 28 list was created, they DEFINITELY would have been on it.
Her relationship with her mother is quite complicated. I made a huge post (for myself and @elliecutte 😭♥️) about Elladora, which I think shows her loneliness and loss of control. She put too many expectations on her daughter - the women of the Black family are known for being exceptionally powerful (& unstable😶) and was unable to handle the shame of having given birth to a squib.
As Eloise got older and older, without any sign of magic whatsoever, she was slowly isolated until the day came and went when she SHOULD have received her letter to Hogwarts. When it never arrived, she was burned off of the family tree and made like she never existed à la her great-nephew Sirius. HOWEVER…for reasons I haven’t explained yet in my fic (so I don’t want to spoil too much🤐) her parents decided to take advantage of her situation and enrolled her in a muggle boarding school and pulled strings to betroth her to a prominent muggle landowner to take advantage of connections and make it so that her life wasn’t a complete waste.
Eloise HATED living with the muggles. When she arrived at the school, she was clearly from an important family, and yet none of the girls had ever heard of her. She didn’t know who the Queen was, she didn’t know the basics of etiquette that had been drilled into them from birth, etc. the only enjoyment she got from that time was learning to play the piano and learning about muggle literature♥️ she especially loves Satie’s gnosiennes and Chopin, and reads anything she can get her hands on.
Her parents were actually FURIOUS when she was accepted to Hogwarts at the age of 16. They were counting on exploiting her future connection with her muggle betrothed’s family/wealth, and they lost their chance. Now, they’re trying to take advantage of her in other ways, working to prepare her for the life she had always been denied before.
My girl is STRESSED THE FUCK OUT !!!!!!!!! She hates herself so much for how badly she wants her parents approval; they threw her aside without a second thought, so why in the world is she bending over backwards and going along with all of their demands, hoping for a tiny scrap of affection?????????😔😔😔
She has a LOT of growth, character development, maybe not always for the best. She is imperfect and fallible and just a teenage girl with too many emotions roiling around inside of her to know what to do with.
My fic includes a lot of horror, blood rituals, sacrifice, magical theory, mythological references, lots of romance & slowburn, making all the wrong decisions, arranged marriage to the wrong person, complicated family dynamics and conflicting emotions that are all existing simultaneously & a very sweet girl who is going THROUGH IT😔🙏 my masterlist links to all of my Eloise posts, my fic, PLUS she is the unnamed MC in my two oneshots, clumsy and note-taking🫶

Thank you so much @bookie-bookdust for starting this & for tagging me🫶🫶🫶
The MCs of this fandom are just all so very amazing and creative, and I genuinely love seeing every post I come across during my morning coffee scroll♥️ lately I’ve been more of a silent lurker (all of my likes come from my main blog @oerflink), but hopefully I can be more active again 🤞 If you see this and haven’t done an introduction post yet for your own, PLEASE DO !!!!!!
#sorry this is so stream-of-consciousness#if you read this we are getting married or at least you get a kiss and a hug I’m sorry I don’t make the rule#other small things I didn’t add bc it was just getting too long I yapped too much#are things like the wood for her wand and Bellatrix’s wand came from the same tree#unfortunately she shares a lot of similarities with her mother Bellatrix Narcissa andromeda etc I just genuinely love#the women of the Black family so much they’re fascinating to me#hogwarts legacy#hphl#hogwarts legacy fanart#hogwarts legacy mc#hogwarts legacy oc#eloise babbit#hogwarts legacy fandom

Your idea about Molly throwing Weasley!Reader on the back burner until they start making money breaks my heart but it’s so real
Lestrange!Daughter would catch onto it before anyone else — seeing her darling trying to buy his mother’s love with desperation — she’d call Molly on it but never in front of him knowing it would make him upset
And it’s something the three Black sisters notice to.
Bellatrix isn’t sure how to approach the situation, for all the faults her parents had, they were nothing but loving towards the three girls so it’s a completely different atmosphere watching a child nearly kill himself for scraps of his mother’s attention
Andromeda’s heart breaks in the rare times she bares witness to it, wanting to go all mama bear, and Tonks would be just as protective
Narcissa, much like her niece, would simply resolve to making snide comments about it
Definitely! I imagine the dynamic between Molly and the Reader is what really garners Bellatrix’s, Andromeda’s, and Narcissa’s own fondness towards him, leading to their own maternal obsessions kicking in cause how dare Molly treat such a precious child like that, let alone her own child for that matter.
Lestrange!Daughter!Oc would greatly resent Molly for the fact she neglected and put the Reader to the side in favor of his other siblings. And she would not bite her tongue about it either, at least not when her darling was around. She doesn’t need her darling to divulge anything to her about the situation or how he feels about it, she knows him better than anyone after all and she can see plain as day how much he tries to earn an ounce of his mother’s attention, let alone her affection. And it enrages her to no end. After all, her darling only ever took up being a criminal and building a criminal empire in the first place to support his family, to support his mother. And Molly is none the wiser to how she’s treated him, or rather how she hasn’t treated him, all she sees is that one of her sons has come into money and a consistently large amount of it at that.
I definitely see Bellatrix basically adopting Criminal!Weasley!Reader especially after knowing about his relationship with his mother, or rather the lack of it. She would be more affectionate towards the Reader, she would tell him how proud she is of him, she would actually make the effort to know about him, to see him as his own person unlike what his own mother has gone about doing herself. Like, does Molly even know his favorite color?? No. But Bellatrix does and she didn’t even need her daughter to tell her.
Bellatrix would greatly detest Molly, at first it was only for her amusement and in defense of her daughter that she behaved the way she did but after learning how Molly has been towards the Reader, Bellatrix can’t stand the woman whatsoever and would insist that the Reader live with her and her daughter even before he graduates. Even if he doesn’t move in right away, Bellatrix will ensure he stays over during the entire summer. Hell, she may just pop into the Burrow herself and collect all of the Reader’s belongings herself or she’d probably just buy him everything new that he nor she has to go back to the Burrow and be in the presence of that woman again. She would really try to get him away from Molly as soon as she can.
Andromeda would honestly be disgusted with Molly. She gets that Molly and Arthur have quite a few of children but there’s no excuse to not pay any mind to one of your children more so over the others until they start bringing something to the table that benefits you and the rest of the family. Unlike, Bellatrix and Narcissa, Andromeda would bite her tongue and keep her opinions very much to herself but she will make sure to give the Reader the attention he deserves and more so that he does feel seen and heard. I can imagine her actually really only having long in depth conversations with the Reader that isn’t just small talk and fluff to fill an awkward/uncomfortable silence. She greatly enjoys the Reader’s company, criminal or not, and she would be more than happy to have the Reader stay over at her home if ever need be, possibly in the scenario that Molly does find out about him being a criminal let alone him running an entire criminal empire and kicking him out (possibly even going as far as disowning him?) for it before he’s even close to graduating Hogwarts.
I could see Tonks taking on an older sister figure relationship with Weasley!Reader. Maybe she’s even come across him doing his criminal activities as an Auror and she just turned a blind eye, even going as far as covering for him. She knows he’s not a bad person, he’s just trying to make a living to support his family the only way he can. She doesn’t exactly know the full depths of Criminal!Weasley!Reader’s activities and inner workings, and honestly she doesn’t want to know in case she’s ever used to try and get to him by the Ministry, but she’ll help protect him however she can. Not to mention after finding out about how Molly treats the Reader, Tonks would very quickly lose respect for her and not be able to look at her in the same light again from then on.
Narcissa would be very similar to her niece and Bellatrix in how she doesn’t hold back too much from ripping into Molly. The only difference is the way she goes about it, she chooses her words very wisely but they’re still sharp enough to cut deep. And she aims to cut Molly very deep. Narcissa would prefer not to interact with Molly whatsoever but especially after finding out about how she’s been towards the Reader his entire upbringing. She would be outright appalled to hear how a mother can treat her child so terribly so and without meaning to. Like, it’s not like Molly purposely picked the Reader out of the lot and chose to neglect him the most out of his siblings, but that’s just how it ended up. Either way, Narcissa is only all the more repulsed by the Weasley matriarch after learning everything. Similar to her sisters, Narcissa would also give the Reader all the attention and praise he deserves, tenfold. Whenever Molly is gushing about one of her other children, I could see Narcissa being the first to chime in/interrupt her about the Reader and the accomplishments he’s made for himself all on his own, not allowing Molly to get away with neglecting the Reader anymore than she already has.
Basically just these three women becoming absolute protective mama bears for their poor neglected and pushed aside ginger bby. Meanwhile, Lestrange!Daughter being that overprotective wife of her darling husband who deserves more than the world has to offer for doing what he does solely to help his family have a life they never had the chance to experience before. And Tonks being just as protective of the Reader cause he felt the need to go down the route he did believing it to be his only option.

What do you think Lucius Malfoy’s relationship with his dad looked like?
Abraxas was a domineering figure in Lucius’ life. He controlled every aspect of his son’s upbringing to lead him down a path that would lead Lucius into the hands of the Dark Lord. The Malfoy family’s alliance with Voldemort was so strong that it was almost tangible and Abraxas wouldn’t dare wasting an heir to just be a simple purist lord. No. Lucius needed to carry on the Malfoy legacy and secure the survival of magic amongst pure-bloods. Abraxas dedicated every breath he took to ensuring that muggles had no place within the wizarding world, because the thought of them intermarrying with the pure-bloods and dirtying up their bloodlines. The former lord of the Malfoy family strived to indoctrinate the purist ideology to his children, drilling it into their heads so that they’d share in his disgust and hatred towards the mudbloods threatening to tear down everything the pure-bloods built for themselves.
Lucius was weak. He was a coward. Abraxas knew this. He always blamed Lady Malfoy for being too soft on the boy. No matter how hard he tried, Lucius could never impress his father in the way Abraxas had expected of him. The young Malfoy heir was a failure. Abraxas could tell that his son disappointed the Dark Lord, which brought a lot shame upon the Malfoy family. Compared to Rodolphus and Rabastan, the young masters of the Lestrange family, Lucius was much less valued to Lord Voldemort. The two talented brothers had always managed to catch the Dark Lord’s favor, and that obviously bothered Abraxas. Lucius was constantly pressured, but very rarely succeeded in pleasing his father.
Abraxas died ashamed of his son. The only string of pride he had left was living to see the birth of his grandson who Lucius had fathered with an exceptional witch from a good pure-blood family. Either way, the deceased wizard couldn’t fathom the thought of his heir holding less value in the Dark Lord’s eyes compared to the children of his other followers.

Lucius x Reader in which Draco hypes him up to court the Reader. Maybe she is Lucuis old hogwarts crush who is visiting the manor with her family for pureblood stuff, (No hating on Narcissa tho,)
Title: Old Crush
Warning: none
Words Count: 3000+
Masterlist
---
The Malfoy Manor stood tall against the waning twilight, its grand silhouette casting long shadows over the carefully manicured grounds. In the distance, the dark stone walls of the estate loomed, holding secrets—secrets that had been carefully locked away for years, only to be stirred up by a seemingly innocuous dinner invitation.
Lucius Malfoy was pacing inside the drawing room, the ornate chandelier above him casting a soft, golden glow over the room. His fingers tightened around the edge of his crystal tumbler, the amber liquid swirling inside as he tried to focus on the current matters at hand. His thoughts, however, were elsewhere—toward a time long ago when his life had been less complicated, when the future had seemed as bright as the stars themselves.
The evening had been meticulously planned. The table was set with the finest silver and crystal, each piece gleaming under the soft, flickering light of candles. The house-elves had been instructed to prepare a banquet of the highest quality. The guest list had been carefully curated, and there was one particular name that occupied Lucius’s mind: Y/N.
Y/N.
The name had not crossed his mind in years, not since their last encounter at Hogwarts. It was a memory he had buried deep, choosing to focus on the present rather than the past—on the rise of the Dark Lord, on the responsibilities of being a Malfoy, on marrying Narcissa, and eventually having a son. Yet now, with her impending arrival at the manor, the memory resurfaced in a wave of nostalgia that caught him off guard.
It wasn’t just the passing of time that had changed things. It was the sudden realization that, all these years later, he would see her again, this time as an adult, no longer the shy, innocent girl from their youth. The girl who had unknowingly occupied a special place in his heart, a place he had tried—unsuccessfully—to forget.
Lucius adjusted the cuffs of his pristine robes, his long fingers brushing over the fine fabric, his mind returning to their last interaction as teenagers. He could still remember the way she had looked—radiant, graceful, the very definition of elegance. Her laughter had been soft, like the gentle tinkling of silver bells, and her smile... he had always wondered if she even realized how her smile had haunted him.
He had never acted on his feelings for her, never had the courage to tell her how much he admired her. But now, years later, the same inexplicable pull he had felt back then was beginning to return. He wondered what had become of her, what path she had walked after Hogwarts, and whether she would still remember him, or whether he had faded into the background of her life as the years passed.
There was a knock on the door, snapping Lucius from his reverie.
“Master Malfoy,” the voice of the house-elf called through the crack in the door. “The guests have arrived.”
Lucius straightened, inhaling deeply, before giving a subtle nod. “Show them in.”
It was time.
The grand double doors to the drawing room opened slowly, and there, standing in the doorway, was Y/N.
Lucius’s breath caught in his throat.
She looked exactly the same—yet not at all. Time had sculpted her into someone more refined, more poised, but the essence of the girl he had once admired was still there. Her hair, long and dark, cascaded down her back in soft waves, her eyes gleaming with that same quiet intelligence he remembered. She was dressed in a deep sapphire gown that complemented her complexion, her posture exuding the kind of regal confidence only a powerful pureblood could possess.
Her presence filled the room, commanding attention effortlessly. Lucius found himself momentarily lost in her gaze, his heart racing in a way he hadn’t experienced in years.
Behind her stood her father—an older, more imposing figure—and her mother, a woman whose face was lined with the wisdom and grace of decades spent in the company of the finest families in the wizarding world. But it was Y/N who held Lucius’s attention.
“Y/N,” Lucius finally managed, his voice low, almost tentative. “It’s been so long.”
Her smile was warm, though it held a certain distance. “Lucius,” she greeted, her voice just as melodic as he remembered. “It’s good to see you again.”
The formality of the greeting did not go unnoticed. Lucius gave a polite bow to her parents, who had entered the room behind her, before turning back to Y/N.
“I trust the journey was comfortable?” he asked, his tone polite yet undeniably genuine.
“It was, thank you,” she replied, her smile never faltering. “Your home is as magnificent as ever.”
Lucius chuckled softly, though a pang of nostalgia tugged at his heart. “I suppose I have to keep up appearances.”
It was then that Draco entered the room, his steps light but deliberate, his eyes scanning the group before landing on Y/N.
Lucius’s son, now a young man on the cusp of adulthood, had been observing the scene quietly from the corner. He had never met Y/N before—his father’s feelings for her were not something he had been made aware of—but there was something in his father’s demeanor that immediately caught Draco’s attention. The way Lucius stood a little taller, the subtle way his gaze lingered on Y/N, the shift in the atmosphere that seemed to hum with unspoken tension.
Draco’s sharp eyes didn’t miss a single detail. He could feel the unspoken history between the two, even if he didn’t fully understand it.
After a moment of awkward silence, Draco’s natural instinct to break the tension took over. He gave a slight smile and extended a hand to Y/N. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Y/N. I don’t believe we’ve ever had the honor of crossing paths.”
Y/N’s smile was kind but polite as she took his hand. “The pleasure is mine, Draco. I’m sure we’ve heard much about each other.”
Draco gave a small laugh, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “I imagine the stories have been exaggerated.” His tone was light, but there was something calculating in the way he observed the interaction between his father and their guest.
Lucius’s expression shifted subtly, a flicker of annoyance flashing across his face before he masked it. It was clear to Draco that something about Y/N had affected his father deeply. And given that Draco had never heard of Y/N before, this piqued his curiosity even further.
As the dinner began, the conversation turned to more mundane topics—the state of the Ministry, the ongoing political shifts, and the upcoming Quidditch season. Lucius was doing his best to appear composed, but his attention kept drifting toward Y/N.
There was no ring on her finger.
It was a detail that had not escaped his notice. Lucius had always assumed that, by now, Y/N would have married someone, settled down, perhaps had children of her own. The absence of a ring intrigued him, though he told himself it was of little consequence. The years had passed, and his life was no longer the one it had once been. He had responsibilities—his son, his family, his position in the wizarding world. Yet there, sitting across from him at the table, was Y/N, and he found it impossible to ignore the feeling that something had been left undone between them.
Draco, ever the observant one, had been watching his father closely. He could sense the shift in the air, the subtle tension that lingered around Lucius whenever Y/N spoke. It was as if his father was trying to suppress some old, long-forgotten feeling.
Draco’s mind worked quickly. He didn’t know what had transpired between his father and Y/N in their youth, but it was clear that there was unfinished business between them. And Draco, ever the opportunist, decided to play the matchmaker.
As the meal progressed, Draco made several subtle attempts to draw Y/N into conversation, asking her about her travels, her work, her family. Each time, he steered the conversation back to his father. He did it casually, but with a knowing glance. Lucius, however, was hardly aware of his son’s matchmaking efforts, too focused on Y/N.
Finally, after dessert had been served, and the conversation had shifted to lighter matters, Draco leaned back in his chair, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He smiled at his father, and then at Y/N.
“You know, Father,” Draco began innocently, “I was just telling my friend Theodore Nott the other day that it’s high time the Malfoy family expanded its connections. The right connections.”
Lucius’s eyes flicked to Draco, an eyebrow quirked. “And what do you mean by that, Draco?”
Draco’s gaze flicked to Y/N, and then back to his father. “Oh, just that perhaps some old friendships could be revisited,” he said casually, but with an unmistakable undercurrent of mischief in his voice.
Lucius froze. His heart thudded loudly in his chest. Draco’s words were carefully chosen, and Lucius couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of discomfort. But Draco’s eyes were innocent, yet there was something knowing about them—something that suggested he had picked up on the tension between the two.
“Perhaps,” Lucius replied, his voice tight, “it’s best to leave the past where it belongs.”
Draco merely shrugged, but his eyes gleamed with a kind of satisfaction.
The evening wore on, but for Lucius, time seemed to stretch on forever. His thoughts were consumed by Y/N, by the memories of their youth, by the realization that life had led them both down different paths. Paths that, now, perhaps, could intersect once more.
The evening ended on a polite note, with guests exchanging pleasantries and preparing to depart. Lucius stood by the door, his eyes lingering on Y/N one last time. She was the same woman he had admired all those years ago—yet she was so much more now. There was an unspoken understanding between them, an awareness that something had shifted, though neither spoke of it directly.
As Y/N reached the door, she turned back to Lucius, her gaze softening.
“It was a pleasure, Lucius,” she said quietly, her voice filled with an emotion he couldn’t place. “Perhaps we should not wait so long before we meet again.”
Lucius’s heart skipped a beat. There was something in her words, in the way she said them, that held promise. The past wasn’t quite finished yet, and neither, it seemed, was their story.
As she walked away, Lucius found himself standing there, staring after her, unable to shake the feeling that his life had just taken an unexpected turn.
And so, as the last echoes of footsteps faded from the Malfoy Manor, Lucius Malfoy found himself at a crossroads—one that he had never anticipated, but one that was now as inevitable as the coming dawn.
--
Weeks passed after that fateful dinner at the Malfoy Manor, and life returned to its predictable rhythm for Lucius. The manor remained pristine, his family’s reputation intact, and his position in the wizarding world unchallenged. But there was a lingering thought, a feeling that refused to dissipate, a presence that had subtly taken root in his mind—Y/N.
Lucius had tried, with all his might, to push aside the memories of their evening together. He had responsibilities, his son to guide, and the political landscape to navigate. But every time his gaze caught a glimpse of something familiar—a sapphire blue cloak, a flowing dark mane, or even the scent of lilies—it reminded him of her. Of their past.
It had been years since he had thought of Y/N with such intensity. During their days at Hogwarts, their lives had been shaped by their families' ambitions and the great conflict that loomed over them. But now? Now, after the passage of so much time, it seemed the possibility of a future, or at least a rekindling of something, hung in the air.
The moment came, unexpected and seemingly out of nowhere, one crisp autumn morning in the heart of London. Lucius had been summoned to the Ministry of Magic for a series of meetings with various department heads. The Ministry had always been a place of both opportunity and political minefield for someone like him—navigating it required a careful dance of diplomacy, subterfuge, and a very keen eye on potential allies and threats.
Lucius arrived in the Ministry lobby, his steps deliberate as he made his way past the statues and glittering marble. His robes whispered across the floor as he passed familiar faces, most of whom nodded respectfully at him, knowing his status as one of the most powerful purebloods in the wizarding world. His mind was preoccupied with the matters he had come to discuss with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and he paid little attention to the mundane sights of the bustling Ministry.
But then, as he rounded a corner, he nearly collided with a figure emerging from an adjacent hallway.
Y/N.
It happened so quickly that Lucius barely had time to register the shock of her sudden appearance before their eyes locked. Her figure was as striking as ever—tall, composed, with an air of quiet authority that could command a room without a single word. But it wasn’t just the years that had passed that changed her—there was a subtle maturity about her now, a sense of self-assuredness that radiated from her, it was second time he noticed it, the first itme being during that dinner, and now...
“Lucius,” she said, her voice softer than he remembered, though still carrying that familiar warmth.
“Y/N,” Lucius replied, his voice a mixture of surprise and something deeper, something far more personal.
The moment stretched between them, brief but intense. It had been years since they last spoke, just the two of them, no one else around, but in that instant, Lucius was reminded of their time together in their youth—the secret moments shared when the world had seemed so much simpler. Now, it was as if no time had passed at all. But the world had changed, and so had they.
The noise of the Ministry seemed to fade as Lucius and Y/N stood there, as if the room itself had quieted in reverence of this unexpected encounter. But the spell was broken when a voice called out to Y/N from behind.
“Miss Y/N! We’re running behind on the schedules for today’s meeting. Shall we?”
Lucius’s gaze shifted slightly as the interruption pulled him from his reverie. The speaker was a young, eager-looking wizard, dressed in a crisp, understated suit—clearly someone in a position of power, though nowhere near the caliber of Lucius himself.
Y/N smiled politely, though Lucius could see the slight tension in her posture as she turned her attention back to him.
“I’m afraid I’m needed elsewhere,” she said, her tone apologetic. “But it was good to see you again, Lucius.”
Lucius nodded, though a part of him felt as though he had just missed the opportunity to truly speak to her, to catch up.
“I didn’t know you worked here at the Ministry,” Lucius remarked, his voice smooth but tinged with curiosity.
“I’ve been here for several years now,” Y/N explained, a faint but knowing smile on her lips. “I’m in the Department of Magical Transportation. It’s... far from the more public-facing departments, but I find the work fulfilling.”
Lucius’s brow furrowed in surprise. He had assumed, given her background, that Y/N would have found herself in a position more aligned with the prominent pureblood families—perhaps a post in the Department of International Magical Cooperation or even within the Wizengamot. But the Department of Magical Transportation was far more obscure, dealing with the intricacies of portkeys, apparition regulations, and other aspects of magical transportation that most wizards never gave much thought to.
“Magical Transportation?” Lucius repeated, almost incredulously. “I must admit, I didn’t think you would be in such a... practical department.”
Y/N laughed softly, a sound that brought a flash of warmth to Lucius’s chest. “I suppose it’s not glamorous,” she said. “But it has its own importance. Not all of us are eager for a hight and important place as yours.”
Lucius’s eyes searched her face for any hint of irony or regret, but there was none. She seemed perfectly content with her life, though he wondered what had brought her to such a quiet corner of the Ministry. Had her path truly diverged so completely from his own? Or was it by choice that she had stayed out of the political spotlight?
“Well, I won’t keep you from your duties,” Lucius said, though the disappointment in his voice was clear despite his best efforts to mask it. “It was good to see you, Y/N.”
“You as well, Lucius.” Her smile was warm, but there was a hint of sadness in it, as though she, too, regretted the brief nature of their meeting.
With that, she turned, and her figure disappeared down the hallway, her footsteps echoing softly in the vast corridor.
Lucius stood still for a moment, his thoughts racing. The encounter had been so unexpected, so fleeting. He couldn’t help but feel the weight of the years between them, the paths they had taken that had led them to such different places. But in that brief moment, it was clear to him that whatever distance had grown between them in the past, it hadn’t erased the connection that still lingered, hidden just beneath the surface.
Later that day, Lucius sat in the sterile, polished offices of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, going over the details of an ongoing case. But his mind was elsewhere, occupied by the encounter with Y/N. He found it difficult to concentrate, to keep his thoughts fixed on the matters at hand. His gaze kept drifting to the corner of his desk, where a small piece of parchment sat, untouched—a note that had arrived earlier that day, courtesy of Y/N’s office. It was a formal request to discuss some bureaucratic matters between their departments, a rather innocuous request in the grand scheme of things. But for Lucius, it was a lifeline—an excuse to see her again.
He hadn’t forgotten the way her smile had made his heart race, how the years seemed to melt away when their eyes met. She was more than just a former acquaintance; she was a reminder of something he had long buried—a part of his past that, despite his best efforts, refused to stay buried.
Lucius sat back in his chair, steeling himself for what would come next. He knew he would have to play the game carefully—after all, Y/N wasn’t just a passing fancy. She was someone who had the potential to change everything. He wasn’t the same man he had been at Hogwarts, and neither was she. But their meeting was proof that the threads of their past hadn’t unraveled completely. There was still something there.
And Lucius Malfoy, despite his carefully curated life and responsibilities, was beginning to wonder if that something was worth exploring.

Doublecanons for Riddle era:
Cygnus Black
The saving grace of the Black family.
Cygnus was the fail safe for his parents and became heir presumptive when Alphard made it clear he wouldn’t be producing any heirs to continue the bloodline.
As a child he was his mother’s little angel.
A blessing to the family, something that brought security to the bloodline in case something prevents Alphard from fulfilling his duties to the House.
Cygnus’s birth brought Irma so much pride because it showed she was capable of providing not one heir but two.
He never got involved with the Knights at school.
Nor did he interact much with Tom Riddle.
For Cygnus, Riddle was an insidious presence that he evaded at all costs.
No good would come from Cygnus associating himself with Tom Riddle and he knew this.
The Knights of Walpurgis were a cult, a group of fanatics, not a band of elite wizards ready to take on muggles and muggleborns by storm.
They abused the power they were given by birthright in the servitude of a half-blood who was using them for his own gain.
Cygnus would not allow himself to be taken advantage of.
He would not let the filthy half-blood taint his family name.
He would not allow bend down on one knee, kissing the boot of someone who ranked lover than him in terms of blood purity and social class.
He wasn’t the golden child, he wasn’t his father’s pride like Walburga, or the heir and therefore the most valued like Alphard.
Cygnus was the extra.
Alphard was needed to ensure the continuation of the Black family, Walburga was Pollux’s favorite, and Cygnus was… well he didn’t have much purpose unless something happened to his brother.
He was close with his elder cousin Lucretia growing up.
She was almost like an older sister to Cygnus, but that’s not to say that he and his actual sister didn’t have a relationship of their own.
Walburga was always looking out for Cygnus, after all he was her baby brother.
She cared about him in her own way…
Wally was more of a tough love sort of gal.
I would say Walburga was like a second mother to Cygnus, as most elder sisters are.
As for his relationship with Alphard, well I wouldn’t say that they weren’t close, but I’d definitely consider their dynamic a little complicated.
Alphard was the heir and Cygnus was the spare.
Their positions in the family didn’t personally define their relationship.
It was just that their were often kept at a distance because of Alphard’s duties to the family.
He had to set an example for Cygnus and it was very hard to separate duty and family from each other because there wasn’t really much of a difference in the Black household.
That’s just how it was. It was easier for Cygnus to have a relationship with his sister than it was to have one with his brother because Walburga didn’t have to do much other than to marry pure.
His mother wasn’t very happy with the idea of her son not marrying a Black.
Cygnus was supposed to have a match arranged between him and his cousin Araminta Melifula Black.
But obviously Cygnus had other plans once he first laid eyes on Druella.
Wally was the one who defended him so that her brother could choose the bride he wanted.
“What does it matter anyway?” She would say to Irma. “His children will still be Blacks. You were born outside of this family, weren’t you? And yet we, your children, are still of this House.”
Irma would give in. Walburga was right.
And besides, the match was perfect.
Ella was from a prominent and influential Pure-blood family.
With the Rosier’s association with Grindelwald there would be no question that she shared in their purist beliefs.
Druella was close friends with Tasoula Shafiq so I could imagine double dates between Ella and Cygnus + Tasja Radolphus.
Especially once the field trips to Hogsmeade start up.
Cygnus and Radolphus would be buying both Tasja Ella sweets and Honeydukes, and the girls would be dragging the boys along with them into all different shops.
Cygnus and Radolphus would be trailing behind their girlfriends, carrying by their hauls of goods while Ella and Tasja are just walking hand-in-hand through Hogsmeade as if they were the ones dating.
Snowball fights and sledding races have most definitely happened between the four of them.
I could see the teams being decided in accordance to who was with who.
So Ella with Cygnus and Rudolph with Tasja.
But in the end I could imagine Ella and Tasja completely disregarding the rules of the game and just team up with each other.
They would turn on their boyfriends so that it was more so like boys against girls.
This probably had frustrated both Cygnus and Radolphus a few times when their girlfriends do end up switching the teams.
But they grow hard to it and even start to team up together sometimes just to give Ella and Tasoula a taste of their own medicine.
This tradition would carry well into their adulthood when they had children of their own.
I could see the Blacks and the Lestranges taking their children out to Hogsmeade.
Bellatrix and Rodolphus would be ruthless when it came to snowball fights.
Rabastan was a sensitive little thing growing up. He’d struggle to even throw a snowball at someone from the thought of accidentally hurting anyone.
Especially Andromeda (who he was secretly crushing on).
Cygnus would be carrying little Narcissa around since she was too young to play.
Maybe he’d build little snowmen with her.
Rudolph would be getting attacked with snowballs by his Rodolphus and Bella.
They would show no mercy…
Tasoula would notice that Rabastan was feeling a little out of place since he wasn’t playing the way his brother wanted him to play.
So she’d teach him how to make snow angels with Ella and Andy.
I like to think about the interactions made between Cygnus and the Lestrange children.
He was like an uncle to the three of them.
Between him and Radolphus, they would be carrying the babies Cissy and Renissa.
Sometimes Cygnus would switch with Radolphus so that he could carry Renissa and Radolphus could carry Cissy.
Renissa loved to be carried by ‘Uncle Cygnus’.
Just like her father, Cygnus would spoil Renissa rotten.
He’d buy her anything she wanted from the stores at Hogsmeade: her favorite sweets, new plushies that she saw on display in the windows…
She had him wrapped around her finger, as if she too were one of his daughters.
They all made up one big family, which is why none of the parents were opposed to the idea of Rodolphus and Bellatrix becoming betrothed when it came time for them to graduate.
Let’s just say Tasoula and Druella were ecstatic.
And Cygnus, well, he just wanted his little girl to be happy.
But he was comforted by the fact that it was indeed Tasoula and Radolphus’s son that was to marry his daughter.
Cygnus wasn’t at all hesitant to give Rodolphus his blessing.
One engaged soon-to-be-married daughter down, two to go.
Andy was going to be arranged to marry Rabastan, but this was something that Andromeda herself was still unsure of.
When Andromeda ran away to be with Ted, Cygnus was distraught.
He didn’t want to disown his daughter, but at Walburga’s insistence, as well as the added stress from the weight of his family’s expectations of him, he had no choice.
He locked himself in his office for days.
All he could think about was how broken his family was now, overwhelming himself with his past memories of Andromeda.
She was his little girl, he was supposed to protect her, and he failed to do that as her father.
Now she was running off somewhere with a muggleborn who Cygnus viewed as a threat to his daughter’s safety.
He didn’t care about blood purity, he didn’t care about continuing his line…
All he cared about were his daughters and the fact that one wasn’t tucked away, safe at home anymore.
What hurt him even more was that Andromeda had left of her own accord and that he’d never get to see her again.
As of that day she was dead to the family.
Cygnus lived with a void in his heart for the rest of his days.
One day, a few years after this tragedy, Cygnus had gotten word regarding the birth of his first grandchild who Andromeda had by that muggleborn swine.
But he could feel no joy, no pride, nothing at all. He had already accepted the fact that his Andromeda was gone.
Tasoula Shafiq
Tasoula was born as the first daughter of Aykut Shafiq and Letitia Greengrass in 1927.
Her name means “resurrection” and is a diminutive form of the name Anastasia.
Tasoula’s nickname is ‘Tasja’, which bears the same meaning as her given name.
She was born with the blood malediction of her mother’s family which caused her severe Fibromyalgia.
Tasja was one of five children; she has three older brothers and one younger brother, who was a year younger than she was.
Tasoula was betrothed to Radolphus Lestrange when she was seven.
Ever since then she and her parents would make frequent visits to Lestrange manor.
She would always be a subject to Madame Lestrange’s scrutiny, especially as she got older.
I could see Madame Lestrange circling around a sixteen-year-old Tasoula in the receiving room of Lestrange manor, almost predatorily as she examined her.
I believe in this moment the Madame would say something along the lines of: “I suppose the girl does seem to posses quite pleasant facial features, and… child bearing hips, which is necessary if she plans to carry the next heir.”
Despite being a victim of Madame Lestrange’s harsh criticism, Tasoula was also the carrier of her hopes and aspirations for the future of the Lestrange family.
Tasoula carried herself well, a perfect pure-blood witch with both elegance and grace, which was appreciated by Madame Lestrange.
Madame Lestrange saw something in Tasoula that reminded her of herself a bit.
She was young and naive, a vulnerable sheep thrown to a pack of bloodthirsty, merciless wolves.
Tasoula was being introduced to a new world… a cold, cruel, vicious world where the weak didn’t survive.
She was now part of the system which she was unfamiliar with, and she would have to play by the rules if she wanted to remain in the family.
Tasja was a breath of fresh air to the family, which was both refreshing and threatening.
It was Madame Lestrange’s job to teach her how things worked in House Lestrange and Tasoula would need to conform to their expectations if she wanted to become Radolphus’s bride.
And so Madame Lestrange took Tasoula under her wing.
Even when she was at Hogwarts, Tasoula would join the Madame every Sunday for tea at Lestrange manor.
They became close after a while, their relationship developing into one a mother and daughter would have.
Tasoula was close friends with Walburga Black, Eileen Prince, Euphemia Fawley, Cassandra Selwyn, and Druella Rosier.
She and Druella were the closest out of the six. They were each other’s ride or die and their friendship remained constant throughout their lives.
Tasja was not afraid of Tom Riddle. She was the only one who could look him in the eye and not feel a shiver of trepidation running down her spine.
She was the only one who did not experience the feeling of sheer dread overwhelming her when he entered the room.
Tasoula didn’t hate muggleborns, nor did she think that muggles should be oppressed by the wizarding government.
Tasoula harbored affections for Étienne Rosier.
She’d often visit Rosier manor for Christmas in order to see Ella.
There was probably an incident at some point where Tasoula has accidentally spilled a glass of New Year’s champagne on her dress and had to change clothes.
So Druella took Tasoula up to her room and lended her some lounge wear which just so happened to be a hand-me-down from Étienne.
Like some oversized dress shirt or something.
And so that night when the girls were getting ready for bed Étienne would catch Tasoula wearing his clothes and say something like, “is that my shirt?”
Tasja’s face would be flushed red from sheer embarrassment and she’d just stutter out an incomprehensible sentence that was originally intended to be used as an excuse if it could even be understood.
“I-, no… yes— I mean no, Ella let me… she…”
Étienne would just laugh and shake his head, flashing her a wink before heading to his bedroom for the night.
Vinda Rosier was the first to notice that her nephew and Tasoula had feelings for each other.
She would be sitting in the morning tea room, spectating from affair as Tasja and Étienne awkwardly interacted with one another.
Vinda could tell by the way Étienne and Tasoula looked at each other that they were in love
She knew that her nephew had fallen madly in love with Tasoula, to the point where it was almost painful for him to love someone that he knew he couldn’t have.
This was because they could not act on these feelings due to Tasoula already having been betrothed to Lestrange.
But in the future, her marriage to Lestrange was a happy one.
She was a doting mother.
By providing the Lestrange bloodline with not one but two sons, she brought security to the family.
Since Radolphus had been the only heir to the English side of House Lestrange as his parents had no other sons.
Tasoula loved her children and was a doting mother.
She was very gentle and attentive towards them.
In spite of it being scandalous at the time for a noblewoman to do so, she breastfed them.
And Tasoula also refused to let a governess raise them.
She was their mother, not some woman that she and her husband paid for.
Tasoula would not schedule meetings for when her children were allowed to come and see her.
They were allowed to go to her whenever they pleased.
There was no such thing as ‘evening tea time’ where that’s the only time the children could truly speak to their mother and father.
No. Tasoula was a pretty hands-on mother.
She was in charge of their early education and would choose the best professors and governesses who came to the manor to teach the kids.
Tasoula would not accept any teacher whose main focus was on blood purity, as many of her friends had done with their children.
She wanted the main focus to be on real education such as history, mathematics, languages, science, literature, etc.
Her children didn’t need someone to teach them about the importance of blood purity and the strain muggle blood has on the magical lines of pure-blood families.
Tasja wouldn’t let a nurse maid bathe them, she’d do it herself.
Just as her mother did when she was a child.
Nor did she let any of her children go to bed without a goodnight kiss, or a bedtime story from both her and Radolphus.
She would make sure that her children knew that they were loved.
When they were babies she’d get up every time to change their diapers, feed them, rock them back to sleep.
Even though Radolphus often told her that they already had a wet nurse and a nurse maid to take care of all that during the night.
In response to this Tasoula would always say: “Well I’m their mother.” Every. Single. Time.
She’d request to eat in a more smaller, more private dining room or breakfast room in the mornings and evenings so that the family could be closer together.
They would serve themselves, no servants were allowed to watch them dine during this time.
It was a private moment between Tasoula and her family and she didn’t want to feel like she was being spectated while she enjoyed time with her husband and children.
At first this was very strange to Radolphus as his parents didn’t even bother eating with him while he was growing up.
Usually he’d just sit and eat with his governess in the main dining room, with its high walls and long table that oftentimes made him feel isolated.
Even when he wasn’t used to what his wife had in store for him and the children, he still found it to be somewhat comforting.
If only Radolphus had this growing up… he was glad his children had a mother like Tasja to give them the childhood they never had.
They would all eat as a family, no one was allowed not to attend family dinner.
If Radolphus was ever busy in his office and planned to eat later in the evening, Tasoula would go to hunt him down.
She intended on eating with her husband and children, not just her children.
It wouldn’t take her that much effort to convince Radolphus to eat with his family.
Rudolph knew he couldn’t defy her. She was too stubborn. And if he wished not to sleep in one of the guest rooms tonight then he better do as she says.
After Rodolphus and Rabastan, Tasoula and Radolphus didn’t plan to have anymore children.
Especially after Rabastan since Tasoula’s pregnancy with him seemed to trigger her blood malediction.
But Tasoula soon realized she wanted another baby.
And who was Radolphus to say no to his wife?
So Tasoula had Renissa and their family couldn’t have been complete without her.
Radolphus was hoping for a girl, he didn’t want another son.
I pin him as somewhat of a closeted girl dad.
He didn’t know that he would ever want a daughter until he got two boys but no girl.
Renissa really did capture her father’s heart the moment she was born.
Tasoula almost died in childbirth and was bedridden for a few weeks after giving birth to Renissa.
The birth had weakened her and caused her great pain because of the malediction.
It was a miracle she survived at all.
After that her health was never the same.
One day she could be fine, and then the next day her health could decline rapidly once more.
But she would push through it for the sake of her children.
Tasoula never let her illness get in the way of the time she would spend with her kids.
Sometimes when it was really bad she would have no choice but to remain in her chambers the entirety of the day, but she would still have them visit her.
The children would play games with their mother, or rehearse little plays or dance shows for her in the bedroom.
Even Radolphus would sometimes watch, or even join in on the entertainment when he wasn’t busy with work.
When Rodolphus went to Hogwarts, Tasoula was there with her husband and two youngest children to escort him to the platform.
I would think Tasja was much like Astoria Greengrass to Scorpius Malfoy.
I could imagine her giving Rodolphus a bag of candies saying, “here, take these, and make sure you share.”
She just wanted her son to make friends.
Even though both Rodolphus and his father would probably remind Tasoula that there was already a trolly filled with sweets on the train.
She didn’t care.
Whenever either of her sons got into trouble at Hogwarts, she’d stick up for them.
“My sons would never do such a thing! They are perfect little angels.”
In spite of knowing deep down that they probably did do something that shouldn’t have…
But she didn’t let them get away with everything.
If it was very serious she would be the one to discipline them, and even encourage the school to punish them with some sort of chore.
Tasoula always wanted her children home for the holidays.
She wasn’t one of those parents who would keep their kids at Hogwarts.
Most of the time, Tasja and Radolphus would throw a Christmas party at their manor for all their friends and family in attendance.
But another tradition was also to visit 12 Grimmauld Place to see Wally and Orion, as well as Ella and Cygnus.
The children would play and the adults would chat amongst themselves.
Usually the husbands would go to have a cigar and a brandy in another room while the wives stayed with the kids and talked.
Wally was probably pregnant with Sirius by Bellatrix’s eighth Christmas.
She was the last one of her friends to start a family so Sirius and Regulus are a little bit younger than most of Druella and Tasoula’s children.
With the exception of Renissa who was born a bit later, perhaps shortly after Regulus.
On Christmas mornings the children would go out to ice skate on the lake.
I could see Tasoula teaching little Cissy to learn how to skate.
When Regulus was old enough to join the older kids he’d probably be afraid that the ice would crack and he would fall in.
But Narcissa would hold his hand and teach him just like Tasoula did with her.
“One foot in front of the other, Reg. That’s what Auntie Tasja told me.”
There would come a day where Tasoula would no longer be able to attend these Christmas parties and the winters within Lestrange would become silent and bleak.
Tasja would pass away during Renissa’s second year at Hogwarts around the late 1970s from illness brought on by the blood malediction.
Radolphus would never be the same man he once was before the death of his beloved wife.
He’d mourn her loss for the rest of his life.
And the children would be distraught, especially Rabastan who was closest with his mother.

Hello! I understand that naming characters can be difficult, I also understand that when we create AU's in which a character is trans or hiding and need to create a deadname/fake name it can be a struggle. HOWEVER-
When it comes to naming Black OC's or giving characters like Sirius and Regulus genderbent/deadnames I will not take any excuses for things like "Siriana" and "Regina". That is about the only family in canon who already HAS a naming convention, and yes, I realise not all of them follow it. However most DO.
So! For your perusal, I have taken the liberty of spending two weeks of my life scrolling Wikipedia to find a list of constellations, star names and star nicknames that could be used instead! Please use them I beg of you.
As a helpful guide, any names already used in canon are starred. Any names that MIGHT be used in canon (it's been ages since I've read the actual books, forgive me if I've missed any) are double starred.
And without further ado I present...

Hello :))
Do you ship characters? If you do, what hp ships do you like? Do you like any snape ship?
:))
Well, of course! Hahaha, I’ve always been total shipper trash in any fandom. Yes, yes, of course I ship.
When I was a teenager, I used to read a lot of Dramione. These days, I’m not really into that dynamic because it feels super toxic to me, BUT I do enjoy it when the story explores them as adults, even with their canon kids, and they meet again years later in a setting where they’ve both matured. I also like Hermione/Viktor Krum because it’s super cute, honestly. I’m not going to lie.
I’m old-school FF.net, so I’ve always had a soft spot for Luna/Theodore Nott, which became really popular in the late 2000s. And sticking with crack!ships, one of my current favorites is Neville/Pansy. It might seem weird, but OMG, THE DYNAMIC. Soft boy/BAMF girl—my cardio. Oh, and Cho/Dudley, because it’s absurd as hell, but canonically Cho married a Muggle, and what better irony for the Dursleys than ending up with a magical grandchild? Lol.
If we’re talking canon ships, I ship Dumbledore/Grindelwald so much because, while I have a lot of issues with Dumbledore, old-man yaoi gets me every time. Add the drama, and they have everything needed for a tragic gay Greek tragedy, and I live for the angst. Please, give me all the pain. I also love Lucius/Narcissa because I hate the theory that Lucius was abusive or that they didn’t love each other. They absolutely loved each other deeply, and as someone who was a teenager during the Gossip Girl boom, I have a soft spot for sassy old money couples who are awful people but are madly in love with each other.
When it comes to Severus, the most popular ships are usually with Hermione or Harry, and honestly, I find those really problematic because: 1) They’re his students (and I don’t like teacher/student dynamics at all; the power imbalance makes me so uncomfortable), and 2) He literally saw them grow up. He met them when they were 11, literal children. I don’t mind age gaps if both characters meet as adults (and by adults, I don’t mean 18—I mean 20+), but if one of them was a child when they first met, that’s a huge trigger for me. Then there’s Snily, which I only like in a platonic sense. I don’t think Severus and Lily would have ever worked as a couple. Like, ever.
And then there’s shipping him with any of the Marauders, which is a huge no for me because they literally sexually assaulted him. Honestly, the least problematic one is Snupin, but even then, I don’t like shipping Lupin with anyone (not even Tonks, lol) because I think he’s trash, and honestly, anyone deserves better than Lupin as a partner, lmao.
Nah, I don’t ship Severus with any canon characters. I much prefer OCs or Reader inserts.
