champagne/ramune fight kanarumi version sketch/wip - if i ever do finish this, i'm making it into an acrylic stand for myself. but if anyone else is interested, i can put it up on re/dbubble too? i lowkey plan on slowly making khr merch some time around next year too anyway
note: the katakana in the official merch literally says シャンパン = "champagne" (is alcoholic) but the bottles literally say ラムネ=ramune (is non-alcoholic). maybe its because there are characters in the art that's below legal drinking age? lol
i drew this to cope while making the webcomic. i usually have a hard time doing fullbody art but my brain was so thirsty for kanarumi content that it manifested fullbody sketches of two characters in under 40 minutes lmao 🤣🤣🤣i have nothing much to post so i thought to just post this for now
it's based on this set btw! tho now im looking for a better looking pants pattern than what they have shsdvfhgsvfhsd but don't get me wrong, i'll still try to get that hibari tho, sopping wet cat hibari merch is always a must-have and they drew his face so nicely here! (is it because its kuji? hahahaha)

TGCF SPOILERS
This is a major spoiler do not open it unless you're done w TGCF.
Jun Wu and Mei Niangqing's relationship somewhat mirrors Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's. A foil, maybe?
I saw a fanart recently of Hua Cheng painting Xie Lian but I had to readjust my eyes because at first glance I thought it was Mei Nianqing painting the Crown Prince of Wuyong.
🎀 Also yipee first long yap sesh post 🎀
pls take my yapping as a grain of salt; i also think other ppl posted abt this already and if that's true i didn't see it yet
Which he does at like, book 7 or 8, I don't remember, I was trying to study for government while reading the book. Mei Niangqing paints murals of Jun Wu and his four vassals around Mt Tonglu so Xie Lian and his gang can find out the truth.
Many readers did establish already that Xie Lian is Jun Wu's mirror/foil because like that was what leads Jun Wu to be obsessed with molding Xie Lian to be like him. They're too alike, it's almost eerie, but let's be honest, Jun Wu was rigging Xie Lian's fate so he will end up like him. Let's focus on HC and MNQ
That being said, here are some scenes I remember that kinda mirrors MNQ and HC:
Mei Nianqing makes art of Jun Wu, in reverence and remembrance of him. Hua Cheng does the same. However, their stances are different. MNQ is wistful about it, HC is more like manifesting his gege into reality and manifesting their marriage.
MNQ and HC both stayed with their princes. MNQ stayed even if the other three vassals left because they were friends and he didn't know JW murdered their other three buddies. However, he left JW the moment he found out abt that. HC stayed with XL and followed him everywhere, even willing to die for his prince, even if it meant dying multiple times.
They were both separated from their hubbies.
MNQ has known Jun Wu in all his eras, and HC has known XL in all his eras too, but maybe only from a distance.
Despite everything Jun Wu and Xie Lian did, MNQ and HC still wanted to stay by their side and remember their true selves. RIP Jun Wu and his mountain tho lmao. MNQ kinda confirmed it for me when he asks Jun Wu after his defeat (not a direct quote btw): Aren't you tired, Your Highness? I just miss how things were. HC tells XL that "what matters is you." The only difference was that MNQ made a choice and worked against Jun Wu while HC consistently made the effort to be there for XL.
I think my Ted Talk is done.
I will say tho, TGCF has this theme of breaking the cycle of abuse and recovering from trauma — Xie Lian choosing to go against Jun Wu, MNQ holding Jun Wu accountable for his crimes, Hua Cheng becoming someone strong so he will never feel unsafe just as he did in his childhood, Lang Qianqiu swearing that he will never be like Xie Lian and then having to revive Qi Rong so Guzi will never have to live the pain of losing one's dad, Mu Qing finding the courage to reunite with old friends, Qi Rong learning to be the person he wanted to be there for him— to name a few, I will probably have separate posts for this.
I guess in Heavenly Official's Blessing, they did shatter taboos.

Soooooo live has been interesting to say the least. At this point I believe that I have a minor form of the fanfiction writer curse on me.
But beck to the interesting bits people.
1. If you've been wandering about the situation with my uncle I can give a kind of updates / explanation on what's has been and been happening.
So my uncle l broke up with is girlfriend of (I think it was 8 years) and how it happened was like 🤨😑🤯
He, his girlfriend and her children were on vacation and apparently they had a fight, which lead to the brake up, he left the vaccination early, which HE WAS PAYING FOR IN FULL and they apparently stayed fir the rest of the vaccination.
He moves in with my grandma and starts his such for a new apart, in that time he is like once every tree weeks at our house for dinner and etc.
He finally found a apartment, which my sister is kind of sad about (wtf ik) and moves. (also btw his dog is staying with the his ex and her children, they don't like talking care for it)
Then we had the family skiing trip this year and boiiiii was I crashing out....
My parents were trying to find a Airbnb that would fit us all and what do i mean us all, I mean my parents, sister, her boyfriend (everyone is still astonished that they are still together), me AND GUESS WHO.... MY UNCLE.
And I guess I've been manifesting the joker (I'm sleeping with my uncle) a bit to hard, because there was a time in finding a Airbnb where the possibility of sleeping in the same bed as my Uncle was a whopping 100%
Anyway we found a nice place only had to share the room with my uncle and not the bed.
AND I KEEP MY DISTANCE, BECAUSE I KNOW THE FANFICTION AND HOW THEY START AND END...
on vacation he was on call every night (while keeping an eye on me) and I knew that he was probably talking with a new potential girlfriend, so I would always go out of his way to give him some form of privacy.
Unlike my sister: what are you doing? Who's on zhe phone? Is that (name of work college)? I heard a woman's voice who is she? What's her name?
At that point in time I was ready to kill either her, my uncle or myself.
After vacation a lot of time past kind of, I don't really care about the family gossip like that and I am my Uncles favourite the Niece, because i don't text him, call him and just let him be... And on the rare occasion when I do call him he immediately picks up and doesn't Reject my calls, unlike my sisters who calls hin at least once a day.
So my sister started her fbi worthy interrogation on my Uncles for weeks and then he brings his new girlfriend to a meet up with my grandma. Next thing I know is that my grandma is sitting with my mum, my sister and me and starts telling us about her. Which is the part where my sister starts her intern and social media such for the girl amd finds her....
(If by some f-ing mechanical, she actually finds this and recognises everything, I would like to welcome you and advise you to run this family is a nightmare)
We still haven't met her official and I hope for her, my uncles and my sake it will never happen.
(ps. I found out a couple of weeks ago that apparently she also already has children... So my Uncles has a type)
2. I finished school and am now in university, I sadly didn't not kill my art teacher, but there is always time for that later... I'm pretty sure that Woman gave me PTSD.
I then found out that my parents don't really give a fuck about me, because Im the easy child and why would you worry about the easygoing kid?
I didn't go the graduation party, didn't get a party at all, my parents didn't take any photos of me on stage, not like I was on there twice because I was the manager for the school radio...
So i have three very blurry photos of me on stage from a friend. Thank you btw.
I also had a huge fallout with a friend mine. Found out she was talking shit about me behind my back and after I didn't give a fuck about salvaging the relationship, she came back to be like "hi my bestie in the entire world how are you? 😃"....
Her name is Jessica if that tells you anything.
3.....I don't really have a 3th thing and this is probably already long enough. But yeah this is what's been happening...
If anyone has experience, advice or just wants to Idk text me or comment.....
bye

4/5/24: r/SketchDaily theme, "Free Draw Friday." A twofer this week.
This week's characters from my anthro WWII storyline are Kolten Himmel and Anna Maria Himmel. Wait, didn't I already do Kolten Himmel...? Yes...technically, Kolten Himmel II. This here is his grandfather, and his grandmother; these are Capt. Otto Himmel's parents. They never appear in the main story as they're long deceased by then, though they played a big role shaping Himmel's actions and values. (Himmel's old description is way out of date, BTW.) Kolten senior is a merchant marine/sailor (thus the cap) whose ship is lost at sea when Otto is very young; his mother, who is poor but hardworking, very pious, and prone to mystical visions, dies when he's fourteen, so he decides to lie about his age and join the army. There'll be more about them later in my art Tumblr and Toyhou.se.
Regarding their designs: Kolten's cap design is based on what I could find of late 1800s/early 1900s images of German sailors, though I'm unsure if he's part of an official navy, or just a random sailor who ends up on whatever ship will take him (I lean toward the latter). I'm not certain about Anna Maria's hairstyle or hair color (she's supposed to look a bit more, uh, Edwardian, I guess?--but I had too much trouble drawing an upswept hairstyle), so that may change; there's a lot of sea-themed religious symbolism regarding how she and Kolten meet, so I decided to grant her one indulgence, sapphire earrings. (When Himmel leaves home he takes these, and Kolten's tally which he'd previously given to Anna Maria, to remember them by.)
TUMBLR EDIT: I wanted to draw these two as a pair. As I worked on them, the story of how they met poured into my head. I'll treat them as one entry but truncate Anna Maria's entry to avoid repetition; result, since I know a bit more about her than him, Kolten's entry here will be from her POV.
Anna Maria Traugott is poor but a hard worker, scraping by doing odd jobs--typing, filing papers, mending clothes, various sorts of housework, she toils for whoever will pay her, and does so without complaint. She comes from a Catholic family as hardworking and humble as she is, though by now she's on her own. She's also very religious, though her piety manifests in a somewhat unusual way: She has prophetic dreams and occasional visions, which sometimes almost seem to predict the future, though more often, they give her signs, divine signs, which she uses to guide her actions. She's especially devoted to Mary, her namesake, keeping a little shrine to her in her living quarters and often praying for advice. Hand in hand with her mystical visions comes an occasionally crushing melancholia; it's only her faith that keeps her going through it, though it gets difficult sometimes, and a dark cloud always looms over her. She has the brooding feeling that her life will be cut short at some point...she doesn't fear this, rather it just seems inevitable, fate, somehow. She just plows through her days with the steadfast belief that God will provide until He no longer will. It's not her place to question.
Anna Maria is busy mending clothes one day when the owner of the shop directs a customer to her. A tall man in a sailor's outfit enters, removing his cap respectfully; he offers her a shirt with a torn sleeve. Anna Maria says she can fix it, if he'll wait just a bit. She looks up at him as she takes the shirt. He has pale blue eyes, like the daytime sky; she blinks, and he does too. He offers a very small smile, thanks her, and takes a seat. She quickly stitches the shirt, good as new; he pays the shopkeeper, who sets aside Anna Maria's cut. The sailor thanks her again, bobbing his head; he seems to linger just a beat longer than usual before departing. Anna Maria has a funny feeling. He wasn't at all like most of the sailors who pass through. For some reason, her thoughts keep wandering back to him throughout the day. On a whim, when her work is done, she heads to the river where the nearest port is and the docks are always busy. She glances at the ships, having no idea really what she's doing, but then, she sees it: A ship's bow, emblazoned with the name DAS LICHT DES MEERES. The Light Of The Sea. She doesn't know how she knows. But she knows that's the ship.
The sailor with the sky-blue eyes is nowhere to be seen. Anna Maria wanders the dock for a few moments. She starts feeling a little foolish--why is she even here, what is she doing?--and turns around to head back toward land. And gasps when she nearly runs right into him. The sailor exclaims, "I knew it!"
Anna Maria: *recovering herself* "Knew...knew what?"
Sailor: "I knew I would find you here!" *shakes head* "I know I sound mad but...I had a feeling. That you'd be here looking for me. You are looking for me, ja...?" *starting to look embarrassed* "Bitte, tell me I'm not mad."
Anna Maria: *shakes head* "Nein...you're not mad."
Sailor: *encouraged* "I just...had this feeling. It's so odd. I don't know how to explain it, but I knew."
Anna Maria: "You don't have to explain...I understand it. I had a feeling, too."
Sailor: *beams for a moment* "I...I didn't get your name. I meant to ask..."
Anna Maria: "Anna...Anna Maria. Traugott."
Sailor: "Kolten. Kolten Himmel."
Anna Maria: *blinks* "Himmel...?"
Kolten: *smiles* "Ja." *pause* "I wondered...could I see you again? Tomorrow maybe?"
Anna Maria: *blushes* "Ah...all right. There's...there's a little outdoor cafe, not far from the shop, we could meet there...?"
Kolten: "Cafe." *bobs head* "Tomorrow, then...? At noon?"
Anna Maria: "Noon." *nods & blushes* "Ja."
Kolten: "I'll see you then." *steps back* "It was good to speak with you, Fräulein Traugott."
Anna Maria: "Good...good to speak with you, Herr Himmel."
The sailor--Kolten--smiles, turns, heads back for the ship. Anna Maria heads home. After doing her own chores and eating her little supper she kneels by the tiny shrine and lights a candle. Clasps her crucifix and stares at the small figure of Mary imploringly. "Is it a sign...?" she murmurs. "His eyes...the ship...Himmel?" To run across a sailor named Heaven, with eyes as blue as the heavens, sailing on The Light Of The Sea, when she's named after, and every evening prays to, the Star of the Sea...I mean, how can it not be a sign? A sign of WHAT, she's not sure--she gingerly asks, "Does it mean...he and I...the two of us...?" before trailing off. She's seriously never given a thought to such things; she's just assumed she was meant for a solitary life of hard work and contemplation. And she tells herself not to jump ahead of herself. But her heart's been beating a little bit faster since she first looked up into Kolten's sky blue eyes and saw his small smile...it looks like a sign. She blows out the candle, goes to bed, sleeps only fitfully. She keeps dreaming of the sky and of the sea.
The next day she heads for the cafe. As she draws near, though, her step falters. Will he even be there? She's heard of sailors and their ways, what does she even have to offer him? Yet...he'd said he had a feeling. Just like she did. Like it was meant to happen. It's not her place to question. She looks over her shoulder, briefly contemplates turning away and forgetting this impulse, then makes up her mind and turns back. And ahead of her, coming from the opposite direction, there he is. He sees her at the same instant she sees him, and a smile spreads across his face. She feels herself smiling in return, and goes to meet him.
They stop before each other and both say, "I thought--" then cut themselves off. Both gesture for the other to speak first; he does so, saying, "I thought you might not come." She admits she thought the same. "I'm not used to visiting cafes," Kolten says as if mildly embarrassed, casting it a glance; realizing that sailors are far more likely to visit taverns, Anna Maria blushes and says, "Neither...neither am I, to be honest." Though she has a reason different from his; to take lunch at a cafe is a luxury she can't really afford. Kolten looks at her, seems to understand; he glances aside, toward a nearby park. "The weather is good today," he suggests, "why don't we go for a walk?" Anna Maria accepts, feeling a twinge of relief. Although it's a sin to be proud, and she's not really ashamed of being poor, she does feel bad that she can't treat him to something nice, and she doesn't want to have him pay; his small suggestion helps put her at ease.
They head into the park, getting to know each other a little better as they slowly walk along the path. She asks him how long he's been a sailor. About as long as he's been able to climb aboard a boat, Kolten tells her; he lost his parents and took to the water when he was quite young. He practically grew up on the ships, raised by the crews during the day, rocked to sleep by the waves at night, so "I have land legs more for the sea than for the actual land, as funny as it sounds," he says. Anna Maria says she lost her parents when she was rather young as well. "Seems we have some things in common," Kolten says, and it's true, in a way they're in the same boat...metaphorically speaking. Although they've known each other only a day, she feels comfortable with him, and he's so kind and warm, a ray of sunlight in her relatively dreary life; as their walk nears its end she asks him when his ship is heading out again. Kolten's smile fades. "Tomorrow morning," he replies; Anna Maria's disappointment turns into a sharp pang of despair when she asks how long he'll be away, and he replies, about four months.
The dark cloud moves in again. Still, it had seemed like a sign; Anna Maria feels that they aren't meant to part yet, not so soon. She summons the courage to ask, "Will...will I see you again?" Kolten replies, "If you come looking for me." Emboldened, Anna Maria promises she'll come to the port to wait for him, and in return, he promises he'll be there, looking for her. The dark cloud dissipates a little. "Oh," Kolten says, as if just thinking of something; he takes off his cap, and unties the tally, removing it; he holds it out to her, saying, "Here." Anna Maria shakes her head, "Oh--no, I can't," she protests, but he says he can simply get another one, so she tentatively takes the ribbon. "Keep hold of it," Kolten says, then, "For luck, until I come back." "For luck," Anna Maria echoes, and they share a small smile. They part ways at the park's entrance, she heading home, he to the docks. She visits the port the next morning to watch Das Licht Des Meeres depart; she catches sight of Kolten untangling ropes on the deck, and he spots her as well. He smiles, lifts his cap, bobs his head; he's already replaced the tally, and the long ends of it whip around in the breeze. Anna Maria smiles back, shows him the old tally clasped in her hand, and waves. He disappears from sight, likely called to some ship duty or other; she watches for a while as the gangway is removed and the ship slowly pulls away from the docks, then heads off to work for the day. That evening, she lights her candle, clasps the tally to her breast, recites prayers for the ship's safe journey. She follows this little ritual for the next four months, without fail. She's certain her meeting with Kolten was predetermined, that it means something. She knows they'll meet again.
Anna Maria keeps her eye on the newspapers posted near the docks. They carry schedules of the ships' voyages, when they leave, when they're expected to return. Every day she anxiously scours the listings; her heart leaps into her throat when Das Licht Des Meeres appears, along with the estimated date of arrival. She waits on the dock every morning with Kolten's tally in her hand, fingers rubbing the cloth as if it's the beads of her rosary. The ship slowly pulls in to port one crisp morning; she cranes her neck, watching as the gangplank is brought out and the sailors begin to disembark with their duffel bags; she doesn't see him exit the ship, but as the noisy crowd thins, there he is, further along the dock; he sees her the moment she sees him, and just as before, he beams at her, and she smiles back. She goes to meet him, holds out the old tally. His smile goes from ear to ear; as if in jest, he removes the ribbon on his cap, and trades it for the old one. "Now you keep that one for luck," he says, tying the old tally around his cap, and Anna Maria's heart thumps.
Kolten is on leave for two weeks. He makes it clear he'd like to spend all that time in her company. Anna Maria blushes bright red, but doesn't mind. She regrets only that she has to work every day, yet Kolten promises he'll see her in the mornings, noons, and evenings. He does well enough to rent himself lodgings in the meantime. The next two weeks are absolutely lovely, and Kolten is an absolute gentleman; he never tries anything inappropriate, even though Anna Maria confesses to Mary that she has feelings for him, and she's sure he feels the same for her. She feels a twinge of guilt that she has a few rather impure thoughts, yet doesn't act on them, and he never pushes her to. When the time comes yet again for them to sadly part ways--his next voyage will last about three months--he does pause, and hesitantly makes a request: "Would you...would you mind, if I kissed you...?" Anna Maria feels her face flush hot--she wants to bury her head in the ground, and to yell, "Nein, nein, NEIN I would not mind!!", at the same time--but she manages to swallow the lump in her throat and stammer, "Uh--I--I wouldn't mind." Kolten pauses--giving her a moment to collect herself--then leans down and gently places his lips to hers, lingering only briefly before pulling away. It's chaste, it lasts but a short moment, yet her heart hammers in her breast and her neck tingles. Kolten stands straight again and offers his soft smile--"For luck," he murmurs--and heads for the ship. Anna Maria stays long enough to look for him on the deck and wave farewell at his cap-lift-head-bob; she heads back to work, then home. Lights her little candle. Says her little prayers. Retires to bed, and has all sorts of dreams...she makes sure to stop by the church and pop into a confessional the next day, she's so overwhelmed by the feelings. What she's not overwhelmed by is guilt...she has a feeling they're meant for each other, that soon, they'll be together, as husband and wife.
The process repeats. She prays at night, works during the day, starts checking the newspapers when the three months is almost up. Das Licht Des Meeres arrives; it feels like an old friend by now. Kolten appears on the dock as if by magic, smiles his beaming smile at the sight of her. His mood dims a bit when he says his leave this time is only a few days, she's saddened too, but they decide to make the most of it. "I wish you didn't always have to go," she murmurs when they prepare to part ways again, clasping each other's hands; "I wish I could keep you near." Her words seem to have an effect on Kolten; he pauses, bites his lip, then pulls his hands free and unties his duffel, digging inside. "I wasn't sure when to give this to you," he says as he looks; "now feels like the right time." He finds what he's looking for, pulls it out--"I found this at our last port of call, it made me think of you"--and holds it out to her: A small box. Anna Maria stares at it a moment, thinking surely it's not what it looks like; then Kolten kneels and opens it. A gold band, with a glittering blue jewel adorning it. She sucks in a breath of disbelief at the beauty of it.
"I saw it in a shop and it was like a sign," Kolten says; "It reminded me of your earrings...and your eyes." He takes the ring out of the box and holds it toward her earnestly; Anna Maria hesitates only briefly, swallowing, before holding out a trembling hand. Kolten slips the ring on her finger, then lingers holding her hand in his. "Now you can keep me near," he says, "until I come back." Anna Maria's eyes blur; she takes a breath, finds her voice, and, "Ja," she murmurs. "Ja...I will."
Kolten and Anna Maria wed on his next leave, and she becomes Anna Maria Himmel. She feels like her heart will burst. Sure, there's still the ever-present complication of his work, taking him away for weeks or months at a time, over and over, yet he always returns, and then they're near inseparable. For a long time, the dark cloud only lingers at the periphery of her vision, as she has him to focus her attention on. More than once he expresses the desire to spoil her--he's not rich by any means, a sailor's savings come and go, but he does well enough--yet she insists she doesn't need much, she's happiest having him by her side.
As the two stroll through the park one evening, Anna Maria suddenly gasps and stumbles to a halt--for an instant she's blinded, then the vision floods her head. She dimly hears Kolten exclaim, "Anna--? Anna Maria--!" before she slumps to the ground. The vision burns overwhelming all her senses for what feels like ages, though when she finally, slowly comes to, lying on the path with Kolten kneeling over her and squeezing her hand, she can tell it's been only a moment. Her visions never last long. He calls her name a few more times, relieved that she's awake, but worried that she may have hit her head, and even when she says she didn't he wishes to take her to a doctor; she declines, insisting she's fine. He's unconvinced until she attempts explaining the reason for her "fainting."
Anna Maria: "I...I didn't want to tell you...I was worried what you might think of me."
Kolten: "I'm your husband, it's obvious I would find out sometime. What didn't you want to tell me?"
Anna Maria: *reluctant* "I...have visions, sometimes."
Kolten: *furrowing brow* "Visions...? What sort of visions?"
Anna Maria: "...Visions from Mother Mary...sometimes the saints."
Kolten: "What do you see?"
Anna Maria: "They show me the answers to things...once in a while something that's to happen yet." *pause* "Kolten...I'm sorry I never told you. I worried you might think me mad."
Kolten: "Why would I think you mad...? It's plain you have a gift."
Anna Maria: *peers up at him* "Sometimes...it feels almost like a curse, instead."
Kolten: "Don't for a moment think of it that way. There are people who would kill for such an ability. You have something special." *pause* "What was it that you saw just now?"
Anna Maria: *faintly* "...An eagle...black...with two heads."
Kolten: *furrowing brow again* "The Reichsadler...? Do you have any idea what it would mean?"
Anna Maria: "Nein...no idea."
Kolten helps Anna Maria back to her feet and they head home. He fawns over her the rest of the night, making sure she's all right and well rested; by bedtime they've forgotten all about the odd incident. Indeed, something else occurs a bit later that completely draws their attention away from the vision--Anna Maria wakes abruptly from a dream, her gasp waking Kolten as well, and as he attempts to calm her down he asks what she dreamed about. "I dreamed I was holding a pear," she says, sleepy and confused. Kolten seems just as perplexed, asks what does a pear mean. Without thinking, Anna Maria shifts her hands; she and Kolten both look down to see that she's placed them over her belly, as if to protect herself. They look at each other.
It's far too soon to go to a doctor, but Anna Maria is certain of it: She's pregnant. When Kolten's next tour comes up, he's reluctant to leave her on her own, and even contemplates a change of profession, something that would keep him on land. Although she wants him to stay near as well, Anna Maria objects: "Remember what you told me? You have legs more for the sea than for land. The sea is your home, I'd never ask you to give it up." "You're my home," Kolten says, to which she smiles and replies, "Then you'll have to come back to me."
Kolten's tour lasts over four months. Anna Maria is awaiting him on the dock when Das Licht Des Meeres arrives; he can hardly run to and embrace her fast enough. He exclaims over the sight of her; she's showing by now, something that was gradual to her, but not to him. After he gets his belongings put away he tends on her hand and foot despite her protests, though she has to admit the attention is nice. The amount of time he'll be on leave is up in the air at the moment, but he promises to stay right by her as much as he can. She even manages a break from working every day, and catches up on some much-needed rest.
The pregnancy progresses normally, no scares, no worries but the usual. Anna Maria hopes to be the best mother she can; she prays at her little shrine (Kolten doesn't share her religiosity, yet he never criticizes it either, and makes every effort to understand and accept it), asks Mother Mary for her guidance, pays close attention to her dreams and to possible signs, yet nothing else overt appears. Kolten is called up again and she can tell the news crushes him--he offers to decline the voyage--but she can't bear to be the one to stand between him and the one other love of his life; she insists that he go, there's nothing to feel guilty about, she'll be waiting as always when he returns. It's almost certain that he won't be back before the birth of their child, but he clasps her hands and vows that if even the tiniest shred of possibility for him to get back to her in time arises, he'll grab it. She sees the ship off, holding up his old tally for him to see; from the deck, he sadly lifts his cap, bobs his head, as Das Licht Des Meeres pulls away.
As expected, Kolten is still at sea when Anna Maria goes into labor. Neighbors take her to the hospital; the process is prolonged and painful, but she gives birth to a healthy baby boy in the sign of Capricorn, a creature half of the land, half of the sea. She cradles him close and when his eyes finally blink open, she sees that they look a lot like hers, a darker, gloomier blue than his father's light, sky-blue eyes. The nurses take him away to let her get some rest, and she dozes off into a dreamless sleep. When she awakes, she sleepily looks to the side and finds Kolten there, the baby now cradled in his own arms; he blinks out of a doze and immediately leans toward her when she says his name. His ship had stopped in another port previously; unable to stand it anymore, he'd requested an extended leave, and took the train to get to her. He regrets not being there for the birth, "But I'm here now. I'm not leaving for a while." He marvels over their new baby--"He has your eyes!"--and asks what she's named him. Anna Maria says she hasn't named him yet...she hoped the two of them could think of something together. Kolten seems surprised by this answer, and admits that he has no ideas. The two new parents sit there for a while staring at the sleeping baby before Kolten says, "Well...I'm sure a name will come to you, ja? Some sort of sign? We just have to keep our eyes open." "They want a name for us to put on the birth certificate," Anna Maria laments, but Kolten replies that they'll just have to wait: "I know it'll come to you when the time is right. We only need to listen."
The nurse visits with them, asks for a name, suggests that the hospital keep hold of the birth certificate until they think of something. They return home once Anna Maria is strong enough. She frets and fusses over the baby, though it's mostly just anxiety; he's healthy, he's well behaved and not colicky, he meets all the expectations a baby is supposed to meet. He just doesn't have a name. Anna Maria and Kolten try to give him the best childhood they can afford, which, in their circumstances, means lots of walks in the parks and streets. He's too young yet to ride on his father's shoulders, and they have no stroller, so they take turns carrying him; he blinks his big blue eyes curiously at everything around him, cooing curiously. Kolten tells him the names of everything he sees; he's too young yet to speak, but "He's bright, brighter than both of us, I just know it," Kolten murmurs proudly, "Just watch, he'll learn everything, and go to the best universities." "Liebe, we can't afford universities," Anna Maria protests; Kolten just pooh-poohs her: "We'll find a way! And even if we don't, even if he never sets foot in a university, just you watch. He'll make something of himself. He'll make a difference. I know you don't care for the big things. But even a small thing can be important. He'll do something that matters, just watch." Anna Maria says, "Even if it matters just for one person...that's enough. It doesn't have to be anything grand, I just want his life to mean something." Kolten grasps her hand and replies, "It will. I have a feeling. Whatever he does, it'll matter."
They visit a nearby, larger city, and stroll around through its heart, admiring the old buildings, the streets, the statues. Kolten is busy murmuring the names of various things that capture the baby's attention and make him wave his hands when Anna Maria, walking along lost in her thoughts, lifts her head and sees it--looming over her, a large eagle, black, double headed. She gasps and jerks to a halt. Kolten hurries to her side, ready to ask what's wrong, when he sees it as well, eyes widening, so she knows it's not just her this time. It takes a moment for her shock to fade enough for her to realize she's staring at the side of a pedestal of a statue; Kolten hands her the baby, and circles around to the statue's front, looking up--it's the figure of a crowned man bearing an orb and a cross scepter--then down again at its base. "Otto der Grosse," he reads from the inscription, "Holy Roman Emperor." He blinks, lowers his head, looks at Anna Maria and then down at the baby. "Otto," he says, with an air of immense confidence.
Anna Maria, however, isn't so sure; she furrows her brow. "Otto...?" she murmurs doubtfully; "It isn't even a Biblical name." She just assumed the child would end up named something like Johann, or Matthias. Yet Kolten seems convinced: "The vision you had with the Reichsadler! It was just before your dream, with the pear. They're connected, surely, ja?--this must be the sign!" Seeing her hesitation, he falters a little: "Unless I misunderstand...? You are the one who saw it...am I interpreting it wrong?" Anna Maria just stares at the baby for a moment or so; "Otto," she says softly, and he looks up at her, blue eyes focusing on hers. She glances up at the statue, back down at the baby, and he appears to notice the statue too, for he stretches out an arm and makes a noise, as if wanting to know what it is; "Otto," Anna Maria says again, without thinking, and the baby says, "Ah," because he's too young to speak, but all of a sudden her mind is made up. She looks up at Kolten, her own expression certain now, and nods.
After their trip they return to the hospital, have the birth certificate filled out. Anna Maria brings the baby to the church to be baptized and although she doesn't give him a new, Christian first name, she does give him a saint's middle name: Otto Aloysius Himmel. Baby Otto makes an unpleasant face and lets out a displeased mewl when the water trickles over him.
Kolten eventually returns to the sea; Anna Maria receives help from her neighbors and the church in raising young Otto. Just as his father had predicted, Otto is bright, curious, intelligent; he's quiet and a bit shy and serious--Anna Maria can't help but spot a trace of her own melancholia in him, and it hurts--but is also eager to learn new things, always asking questions when he's unsure of something, and always remembering what he's learned. Anna Maria is thankful that, although he always listens fascinated to the stories Kolten tells him of being at sea every time he returns home, Otto appears to have no inclination to follow him out onto the water; he remains firmly on the land, showing as much fascination for the rites and rituals his mother engages in, joining her when she offers prayers at her little shrine to Mary. She and Kolten pool their savings to send Otto to the best schools they can afford once he's old enough; Anna Maria hopes for him to have a better life than either of them had. They aren't rich, they have to watch every pfennig, and Kolten is far too often away from home, leaving mother and son on their own for long periods; yet they manage, and aside from a gloomy spell of Anna Maria's here and there, they're happy.
One lowering, cloudy day, Anna Maria and Otto accompany Kolten to the docks to see him off; he's to be away for a couple of months. They stop not far from the ship and Kolten turns to smile at Anna Maria. She blinks--suddenly, her husband is surrounded by a glow like a halo in a religious painting, backlighting him, nearly casting his features into shadow. She thinks maybe it's the sun breaking through the clouds, yet the sky is as dark as before. It's a beautiful, wondrous sight--yet Anna Maria's heart twists, and her blood runs cold. "Don't go," she blurts out, without thinking. Kolten blinks, furrows his brow; even Otto peers up at her, puzzled. Kolten seems to notice the distress on her face; "Anna...?" he says; then, "You saw something. What is it?" When she doesn't reply, he grasps her hands, hard. "If you want me to stay," he urges, "just ask it. I'll stay. I'll never go out there again if it's what you wish. I'll find another job...something working the docks, maybe...still near the water." He glances over his shoulder at Das Licht Des Meeres, then back at her. "All you have to do is ask me, and I'll do it."
Anna Maria nearly tells him to stay, to never go out on the water again, because something is telling her, an alarm bell is clanging in her head, that if he does, she's never going to see him again. Yet she sees something else, a flicker in Kolten's eyes. There's grief lurking just under the surface, grief and loss for something that hasn't happened yet--and only she can prevent it from happening. She knows, just as surely as she knows this is the last time she'll see her husband, that if she asks him to stay, she'll break his heart. He'll still be with her, he'll still be alive...but will he, really? He has two homes, after all, and she would be asking him to give up the first one he's ever known. She's known such feelings of pain and emptiness all her life...she can't bear the thought of inflicting them on anyone else, if she has the choice. She can break his heart...or she can break her own.
Anna Maria swallows, blinks the blur from her eyes, takes a breath. Summons the most convincing yet wavery smile she can manage. Clasps Kolten's hands back, and shakes her head. "Nein," she says, "just...come back to me?"
Kolten stares at her a moment longer before visibly relaxing. He touches her face. "I'll always come back to you," he murmurs, "I promise." He kisses her forehead, wishes her farewell; kneels to kiss Otto's forehead, tells him, as always, that he's the man of the house for now, and Otto promises to do his best and be good; then, with a last glance back, Kolten turns and heads up the gangway. Anna Maria and Otto wait on the dock until he appears far above; he lifts his cap, tally streaming, and bobs his head, blowing them a kiss. Then, he's gone. Anna Maria lingers this time, clasping Otto's hand, and doesn't stop watching until Das Licht Des Meeres is long out of sight. "Mutter...?" Otto murmurs, finally drawing her out of her thoughts; she smiles at him through the beginning of her tears, and they head home.
Anna Maria returns to working during the days, prays to Mary every night. Begs her to look after Kolten, to keep him safe. Otto does his lessons, does his chores, helps any way he can even though he's still so young, Anna Maria's heart aches for him, for the childhood he should have. She watches the newspapers, and eventually Das Licht Des Meeres appears in the schedule; she takes Otto to the docks to wait. The ship doesn't arrive on the expected day, yet this in itself isn't alarming; it's been as late as a week on more than one occasion. Anna Maria swallows her anxiety, puts on a brave face for Otto--"Maybe Vater will arrive tomorrow"--and takes him home. Yet the ship doesn't arrive the next day, or the next...a week passes, with her heart clenching harder in her chest every day, and still no word of what's happened. Anna Maria questions the dock workers, the merchants, the sailors and captains of the other ships that arrive; they have no news to give her, although they're obviously sympathetic. She asks the man who posts the newspaper near the docks; he says there's been no word of Das Licht Des Meeres yet, though he's heard there were storms reported along her route. Anna Maria fights back the tears as she mumbles her thanks; she manages to hold them off until she's lying in bed alone that night, and cries herself to sleep.
Anna Maria opens her eyes, then squints, confused, when light pours into her room; "Otto...?" she murmurs, thinking maybe he's opened the shutters. The windows are still dark--yet the walls, floor, and ceiling are rippling with soft bluish light. Kolten is standing across from the bed, staring at her, his eyes sad. Anna Maria gasps--"Kolten!"--and bolts upright in the bed, ready to throw off the blankets and run to him...yet he's surrounded by the same brilliant halo as before, and it's as if a soft breeze flows around him, lifting the edges of his clothes, the trailing ends of his tally. As Anna Maria stares, she realizes what it looks like...it looks as if she's viewing Kolten through an undulating wall of water. As soon as she realizes this, Kolten raises his hand. Tips his cap...the tally gently waving behind it. Bobs his head. And fades away, the soft blue glow fading away with him.
Anna Maria doesn't want to believe that the vision meant what it looked like. Tells herself, perhaps he's still out there, just lost. Perhaps he's telling her he's trying to come home. She hopes against hope. She has trouble rousing Otto from bed one morning not long after; he mumbles that he doesn't feel well, and he's not prone to malingering. She presses a hand to his forehead, gasps at how hot he is, hurries to call a doctor. The doctor can't determine what specifically is wrong, without sending Otto away to a specialist; Anna Maria can hardly afford it, and the doctor isn't sure Otto could handle the journey anyway. He advises her to give him fluids, place cold cloths on him, keep watch for if he gets worse; other than that, there's little to be done, but hope and pray. Anna Maria does both, praying to Saint Aloysius and weeping before her little shrine at night, entreating Mary as a fellow grieving mother: "Bitte, don't take him from me," she begs through her tears, "I can't lose him, too. Bitte, let him get better. I'd give anything. Bitte, without him I have nothing left. Bitte..."
Otto burns with fever for over a week. Kolten's ship does not return. Anna Maria's neighbors bring food and well wishes, clean the house for her, do the chores, as she's in no shape to do so, spending almost every hour at her son's bedside, leaving him in the care of a friend only to wait on the docks. She dreams that Mother Mary tells her her son will live: "Death will come for him, over and over...sickness, war, the blade...yet it won't take him. Only age will touch him." Late one night, into the second week of this hell, she wakes at a faint call of "Mutter...!" drifting from Otto's room. She tosses on a robe, hurries to his bedside, lights the lamp; Otto's cheeks are still flushed, his face still sweaty, but when she touches him this time he's not nearly so hot. The fever has broken. "Mutter, I'm thirsty," he murmurs drowsily, so she tilts his head up and gives him a sip of water. Then--"I saw Vater," Otto says faintly, and Anna Maria's heart nearly stops.
A tremor in her voice, she asks him what he means. He repeats that he saw Kolten: "He looked sad. He told me he's not coming home. But he said to be strong, that I'm the man of the house now." He peers up at Anna Maria, who's barely holding back her tears. "Mutter...why is Vater not coming home?" he asks.
Anna Maria swallows, offers a faint, pained smile. "He's not coming home because he can't, Liebe," she murmurs. "He's somewhere else now and can't come home from there. I know he would, if he could." "Will we ever see him again...?" Otto asks, to which she nods, and puts her arm around him. "Ja, we will...we'll go to see him someday." "Soon?" Otto asks, and she shakes her head: "Nein, Liebe, not soon...not for a long time. But we'll see him again. I promise."
Otto is weak for a while as he recovers. A notice eventually appears in the papers, reporting the disappearance of Das Licht Des Meeres, presumed to have gone down in a squall with all hands aboard. Anna Maria cries every night alone in her room with her shrine. Her heart feels both too empty--empty from the hole Kolten's absence has left in it--and too full--full of all the love she has for Otto, the only one left in her life. Yet her heart breaks for him as well, as it's obvious now that he's inherited her gift, or her curse, or perhaps both. She'd hoped for a normal, happy life for him. She no longer has any fear of losing him--Mother Mary made it clear he will likely long outlive her--but she regrets that she can't offer him this one thing, that he has to shoulder such a burden himself. She wants to give him everything. But she hurts so much, she feels she has too little to offer anymore, and on especially dark days--which are growing more and more frequent without Kolten's warm, encouraging presence to stave them off--she wonders if her son would be better off without her darkness pulling him down like the waves pulled down Kolten's ship. She takes to calling him mein Licht, my light, as he's the only spark she has left.
Anna Maria holds on as long as she's able. She sends Otto to the best school that her and Kolten's savings can afford. He learns languages, history, literature, fencing. What the school doesn't teach him, he looks up on his own. He's always at her side when she visits church, even though it brings her far less comfort than it once did, and she wonders if her prayers are even heard anymore; her visions, her dreams, seem to have faded away since the last message from Mother Mary, and she fears she's no longer good enough for the saints' wisdom. Worst of all, she never dreams of Kolten, no matter how much her heart aches and her soul cries out for him. She numbly does her work for a pittance every day, but in the home, increasingly it's Otto who tends to the chores; more than once he has to coax her to care for herself, ask her to eat, or help her off the couch and to bed. On nights after he tucks her in and kisses her forehead--"Schlaf gut, Mutter"--she weeps silently into her pillow, and hugs the one where Kolten once rested his head. She grieves that he has no grave for her to visit. That he's down there somewhere, in the cold dark deep, with no light to watch over him. That she just can't bring herself to be the mother her son needs right now.
She holds on. Otto grows into his early teens, soft spoken, polite, dutiful, modest; a hard worker and a true believer just like she is; the neighbors, the churchgoers, his teachers, tell Anna Maria what a lovely son she has, he would have made his father proud. She always smiles and thanks them though her heart clenches inside. Her Otto needs a father, a mother, yet he pretty much has neither, as he has to look after her when he's home. She fears he'll never get to go out in the world, start his own family, find his own happiness and purpose. She feels as if she's the anchor holding him down, holding him back. Dragging him down into the dark after her.
The rumble of war arises, but she's not paying attention. The darkness is crushing her; even crying feels like too much effort anymore. One day while Otto is off at classes, Anna Maria sits down to write him a letter. She has to wipe her damp eyes and take a steadying breath now and then as she writes to her son that she's sorry he's on his own now, yet she knows he'll be all right, Mother Mary told her so; her visions may have stopped, but they've never steered her wrong. She tries to explain the darkness closing in, slowly drowning her, though she's sure he knows already what she's talking about, she's sorry also that she passed it on to him--if she could take it from him, do one useful deed to ease his own pain, she gladly would. She tells him her highest remaining hope, that he live his own life, no longer burdened by hers; she knows she will bring him grief no matter what she does, just that this feels like the lesser of two evils. Her Otto has to be strong. He has to forge ahead. He may be alone now, but not truly. God walks with him, and Mary and all the saints, and his father and the ancestors who've gone before. And not least of all, his mother, who will always love and watch over him, no matter what path he takes. Kolten had had a feeling that his life would go somewhere, would mean something. She feels it, too. She tells him one last time that she loves him, and always will: "I have never once been disappointed in you, mein Licht."
Otto returns home late in the afternoon; after classes, he often seeks small work in the city like his mother does, making what extra money he can to help out; he's excellent with paperwork, with files and typing and writing and organizing, so it's not too hard to find chores that the townsfolk need done, especially now that so many of the men are heading off to the front. "Sorry I'm late, Mutter," he exclaims as he comes in, wiping his boots, shaking off his coat, hanging up his cap; he heads straight into the little kitchen, opens cabinets, takes out a pair of bowls, a pan, sets down the small package of groceries he picked up for that evening's supper, which he always prepares for them since the decline in his mother's spirits. He gets everything up and cooking, prepares a drink, enters the parlor, expecting to find her lying listless on the couch, ready to gently rouse her and get her to take a sip as he tells her about his day--he always manages to get a wan smile out of her that way--yet the couch is empty, no one is there. "Mutter...?" he says, puzzled; he sets the drink down, looks around. "Mutter?" he calls louder as he wanders, before spotting an envelope on the hallway stand; he opens it, unfolds the paper, reads the delicate script. His face goes paler as he reads; he reaches the end, drops the letter--"Mutter?--Mutter!" he exclaims, and hurries down the hall to her room.
Anna Maria is lying atop the bedcovers, fully dressed, curled up on her side with her arms loosely around Kolten's pillow. She looks like she's simply sleeping, but her face is pale, and she's not moving. "Mutter," Otto says breathlessly, hurrying to her and grasping her hand--then gasping and letting it go. He freezes for a moment before gingerly touching her face. It's as cold as her hand. He sees something lying in a tangle of cloth and picks it up. A small bottle, labeled LAUDANUM. Otto's breath hitches and his vision blurs.
He sits by her for a little while as the shadows, both literal and figurative, grow around them. Holds her cold hand in his own and cries. Wipes his eyes, sniffling, and gets up to go turn off the stove before there can be an accident; he dumps out the uneaten food, puts away the unused dishes. Goes to his room, pulls out a little suitcase, and hastily but methodically packs a few necessities, clothes, food, money, personal papers, having to stop and wipe his eyes repeatedly. His step falters as he returns to his parents' room. He stares at his mother for a moment or so; she's not wearing her earrings, the blue ones his father had admired as reminding him of her eyes and the sea--it got to be too much effort to put on unnecessary jewelry every day--though she's of course wearing her rings, both her plain wedding band and the ring Kolten gave her with the blue stone. Otto wants something to remind him of her, to keep her close, but he can't take her rings. She needs to be wearing them when she meets Kolten again, wearing his. He goes to the dresser, finds the blue earrings, and, beside them, a black ribbon emblazoned in gold, DAS LICHT DES MEERES. Kolten's old tally, which he'd given Anna Maria so long ago, for luck.
Otto takes a breath, rubs his wet eyes, grabs the earrings and the tally and shuts the drawer. He tucks them and his mother's letter in his shirt. Then fetches the bottle of laudanum, and hides it far under the bed, beneath a loose board, and out of sight. Tries to hold back his tears as he kisses his mother's forehead--"Schlaf gut, Mutter," he murmurs--and then fetches his coat and cap, and goes to the neighbors', knocking loudly and calling out.
The neighbors are decent people. This door belongs to an elderly couple who respond quickly to Otto's cries, hurrying after him as he leads them to his mother. He tells them he couldn't wake her, that he found her like this. He tells only the truth, though not all of it; he doesn't mention the letter, or the bottle. The wife leads him to his room and sets him down, comforting him as her husband checks on Anna Maria before calling her back. She tells Otto to stay put a moment, though he creeps up the hall to listen in a bit. They're talking in hushed voices, but his hearing is good. The husband has found the bottle of laudanum, and says they need to inform the authorities. The wife protests, "Nein!" and in a whisper, explains: "You see the shrine--? They're Catholics. Suicide is the one unforgivable sin. If you mention this, she won't be buried in consecrated ground." She says they'll report it as an accident instead, and adds that she'll tell Otto the same, to spare him the shame. They can take him in in the meantime.
Otto hardly hears this last bit. He's busy returning to his room, fetching his packed case, and furtively exiting without a word. By the time they realize he's no longer within the home, he's long gone, running along the street, heading toward the train station. He remembers the train from when he was little and they occasionally visited the neighboring city, where his father pointed out the statue of Otto the Great. There's a military recruitment office there. Otto is only fourteen. Yet he believes he can lie convincingly enough that he's of age, and given the budding war and the need for soldiers, they may be lax in checking him out too closely. He reaches the station, buys a one-way ticket, and bustles aboard just as the train is preparing to pull away; he finds his car and squeezes into the seat, gasping for breath, case clasped to his chest. He digs in his shirt, finds the earrings and tally and letter, feels his eyes flood. He doesn't bother wiping away the tears as the train whistle blows and it slowly leaves the station; water is starting to stream down the window, so it's hard to tell where tears end and the rain begins. Over the port city, and seated alone in the train, the heavens begin to cry.

Note
E:-Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Some wrote their thoughts out!!!! K!!!!
THEY WROTE THEIR THOUGHTS ON OUR POST 💕💕💕💕
MORE FEM LIGHT
K:- Eclipse this is! Wow!!
E:- Engagement!!!!
K:- I want to respond!!
E:- Do it K!! Be friendly kyaaaa
K:- Do it with me! Its a K and Eclipse Post after all!
E:- ! Should I? Ohhh this makes me nervous
K:- Did you want to post it, or should I?
E:- you post it. Everytime I remember the cameras I die a little inside
K:- Moood.
So Jenne D'Arch seems to be setting it in a more modern time then we were setting it, and leaning a lot more into the christianity religious symbolism that death note borrowed
Or is there more use of christian symbolism in death note than I remember?
E:- Personally I saw it was using symbolism and more aesthetics. Especially concerning the apple and how Light is painted in the official art. I can agree, Light would be filled with a lot of repressed anger. But I can't see her as humble.
K:- They seem to be taking away Lights Narcissism. I don't think thats something that is changed by gender so much as changed in manifestation.
E:- Btw they did bring up a question for me regarding Light fangirling over L, (again hard to see) did Sochiro already know who L was (as a detective not the person). Matsuda was with Soichiro when they had the meeting for it.
K:- Sorchio was the chief of police so maybe? World Famous detective should be known by crime solving fans (and Light is pretty big on justice)
E:- Yes, that was my thoughts too. Light as a person is narcissistic, egotistical, a tad vain, God complex. But that wasn't the case. Perhaps L can only be accessible after a certain level of clearance.
K:- ... Well not everyone knows about the BB murder case. And L is known as a world famous detective. Which means the name has rep. Or the title rather.
E:- Then L must have cases that are known globally at least for die hard fans.
K:- I think so
E:- Still, you think Light would have some inkling about him.
K:- so its interesting to me that Jenne has Light with a lot more religion in this AU. Both more respectful of Japanese Deities and ‘the gods will guide my hand’ variety. Jenne, I like how you are incorporating the eve and Eden imagery.
E:- Ngl Male Misa will always be unhinged simp to me.
K:- Misa is a simp in general
E:- Male Misa praising Light for being so smart, you can take that from my cold dead hands. I still live for Fem L and M Misa being low key besties.
If L can indulge in otome games I will be happy. Dating sims K. They were a hit early 00's. Jk.....but still
I'm all for Fem Light being more considerate in her use of the Death Note. Love her not rising to the bait like Light did✨
K:- The hesitation suits both her cautious nature and her increase in Piety.
I like this use of Syau (I always like Syau inclusion). How its Syau that is the trigger from hesitation to righteous, protective rage. And it opens a floodgate.
Jenne, you have changed Lights brain taking away her narcissism, but you have your own direction you want to take the character and other themes you want to explore, I can see.
-I loved coming up with Bestie L and Misa with you, Eclipse!
Honestly L playing an Otome game with L would be comedy gold. This one seems to be set in a more modern time then OG, so maybe some Hatoful Boyfriend?!?!
It's nice to see a Light that doesn't rise to the bait, and a slower crawl towards Evidence on Ls part. Or maybe if its really modern, Cat president!
E:- L playing some tasteful and cringe otome game and then fun ones like Hatoful Boyfriend hehehe
I say this as it's nice in a way to relax your brain.
And then her longing for the desert art
L isn't concern about dating or marriage. "I already have my partners right here," she holds up her Gameboy
K:- Gamer L! So much desert art!
E:- They look unfairly good in otome games.
K:- I keep forgetting, is Ls strawberry obsession canon or Fanon?
E:- He eats plenty of desserts with strawberries in them.
K:- ok, but I remember a lot of fanfiction where L had a strawberry obsession. To the point of a strawberry bathing suit print being a thing that grabbed his attention??
Does that fic still exist?
Anyway, food art!
E:- Oh. Oh thank God. He does eat meat and fruit (without frost)
K:- Jenne Your Light certainly has a more nuanced sense of Justice then canon Light, which makes sense, as a woman Light is probably a lot more aware of the ways the law fails to take care of people- thus her intense reaction over what happened to Syau.
The contrast between male "I am God of the new world" Light and your female "God will guide me to the new world" Light is an interesting angle to go with.
Did either of them do background checks in canon?
Admitibly Light had a lot more resources to do so, what with being the kid of the chief of police, and also accessing the police database by hacking his dads computer.
Misa could not do that.
E:- Light had access to names on the database but I don't think he actually spent time back ground checking each one
While we have Mishima running checks on the Kira Site, I know for sure there are petty people adding names of people they just hate.
And I am glad to see Jenne's Light not use the site.
K:- He trusts the justice system in a way that female Light wouldn't
E:- Light is a man, it benefits him more.
As a woman, my God you get discouraged for even trying to report what happened
K:- Not to mention the salt they take the statement with
E:- And you seen those videos of women only trains? Men purposely go on it just to make a point.
Once again the other Light himself is sexist, which makes me very upset Misa wasn't offing offenders in the entertainment industry.
Male Misa has no issues with that nor our PDN Misa.
Also kudos to Jenne, she wrote so much and she ate with her take.
I like how Fem Light straight up (in both takes) not be too hasty to set fire like Light.
Yearning K, I can write my non canon Takada and Fem Light. The yearning from Takada (one sided) let her be gaaaay (in my one shot)
K:- write it!
E:- Will if I can
Just ugh let her yearn.
K:- We should post it under ‘Always a different gender’.
E:- Absolutely
K:- So I'm pretty curious about better ways to use the note, and where the changed direction is going, that Jenne mentions.
Got any ideas of what they might mean with that?
E:- Am not sure in what way. But I was gonna say using origami as back up death note. You know how many kids and some adults have a paper shuriken on them?
K:- I did not.
E:- I wrote on those , I like making one ad no one is gonna bat an eye at a girl making one or a Fortune teller paper
K:- Oh!!!
E:- I can write names under those things,
My binders had mini pressed t shirts and origami cranes (from a friend)
K:- And if it's searched (by L?)
E:- Eyo what are bras for?
K:- wouldn't female L check that?
E:- I dunno K. Be weird if someone put their hand down my boobs
K:- Since when does L care for social faux pass?
E:- Ass grabs vs titty grab.
Light is discreet, flush it down the toilet.
K:- Light would probably manage to hide it like that. Gross thought, but imagine Light hiding it in her pad?
Unreadable by blood coverage.
E:- Mmm I can see her hiding it in her pad when she goes to use the bathroom, taking her time writing names, wait a full minute before tossing it in the toilet.
Besides.....Death Note has so many rules. What if I accidentally sold my soul by getting my period blood on it
K:- I don't remember anything about blood in the rules. And anyway, using the death note means you don't go to heaven or hell anyways. You go to Mu.
E:- True but like....just in case
I can see Fem Light getting annoyed with the amount of rules that grow by the day.
K:- I think deliberately killing someone with a shinigami (deity ) artifact is more then enough of a pact then your own blood spilled on it
E:- True true
K:- Back to Jennes post, she doesn't consider herself Kira. Which is another contrast to Male Light whose Ego skyrocketed at the worship, and considered himself Kira god of the new world.
E:- Light had expressed disdain for the name Kira as well but it stuck with him the whole series.
Jenne's fem Light does retain her ego under all the take of divine righteousness
Regardless of both Lights feelings on the Moniker chosen for them, it's what the public feelings regarding the two entities killing criminals
K:- L and Light.
As Light is interested in investigation, it makes a lot of Sense for Light to be interested in Ls cases and know them, as world famous detectives should be, world famous.
E:- Exactly! Would have been interesting to see at least some books about famous modern cases
K:- right!
E:- Especially considering L has been doing this as a teenager (maybe younger)
And using another famous detectives identity.
K:- two other detectives identities
E:- ......does L have legal rights to that
K:- Probably not, but it seems to be a pride thing. They bet their names and when they lost L committed identity theft, and yoinked it.
Actually, I have no idea how it went down. Let me look it up.
-“L engaged in a war with the real Eraldo Coil, and the real Danuve, and emerged victorious, claiming their detective codes.”-
What is a detective war?
E:- "Hello. It's me. Hi" L about Lights book collection
K:- With the Lind decoy, Light being Passive and Misa entering earlier is interesting!
I really feel Misa was the most dangerous character in the show before she aligned with Light, as once she got what she wanted from him (dating) she was nerfed. So Misa getting to be a threat longer is always something I'm curious to see.
If Kira forces you to pray or confess, will it help you get into heaven? That is a theological question I am not qualified to answer.
E:- Being Catholic I would have said that's Blasphemy. Being Catholic and American I ain't kneeling to a man on an ego trip
K:-The tatemae of humble piety hides the honne of repression and spite and rage at society.
L- "I believe Kira is a psychic" * gets netflix death note flashbacks.
But yah, L does kind of have to believe in some crazy theories to get to the conclusions he does in canon.
L would have difficulties with the taskforce anyways, but moreso as a woman. They are in base form, pretty traditional japanese men.
Matsuda doesn't get it, but has spirit.
Depends on time. Gay marriage is a lot more accepted today in Japan then it was when death note was first made, but of course there are still hurdles.
As for pronouns, that might be less of a problem in japanese.
Generally in Japan they refer to people by name, so L-san or, Eru-san would be the go-to for address anyways.
For L referring to themself, Watashi-ra, or I pronouns might be the neutral thing to go with.
Personally I don't think the gender of the voyer should matter when privacy is still being invaded by putting cameras in a family home.
As for objections, I don't think L is the only person watching. After all, theres a lot of nothing going on for a lot of it, and someone has to edit.
Light fangirling about L is kind of cute to me. As well as her drawing up these rules of engagement (that L doesn't know and probably wouldn't follow)
And Light wanting to team up with L to catch Misa is quite a pivot. Nice twist.
And then Light takes being on camera as a challenge. Watch me Flex at you L!
E:- Honestly I would giggle if Light played up the antics. You seen It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia? Where Dennis stares at the camera unblinkingly for several hours
K:- Staring contest Go!
Light being closeted is not an uncommon idea, and while it wouldn't fly well in the original 2000s settings , its nice to have it more talked about in a more modern AU.
An attempt to catspaw Syau into doing away with the cameras sort of. But she overdid it, and L caught on.
Later when Light decides she "believes" L, and enough time has passed that shes "no longer mad about the cameras" I think it would be funny for Light to fangirl over L. And Ls just embarassed, and Light is playing the fangirling up because of it.
Origami with deathnote as infinate paper source.
Jk, too much risk
I look forward to hearing about Misa!
If you actually think about it, if Light was the only genderbent character in deathnote, the show would take very dark turn and would communicate a different message.
K:- " If Light was the only genderbent character in death note, the show would communicate a diffrent message, yes, primarly because the show was written in the early 2000s with 90s values, and its creator was not good at nuanced portrayal of women, to put it mildly. Look at how Death Note treats Misa. Shes treated as a legit threat until she joins up with Light where she becomes more of a joke. Yes the sexism and being talked down to for being a girl would drive Light nuts, but its nothing she didnt already deal with growing up. Would it be harder for them to take her seriously? Yes-"
E :- "Which is obvious considering the early 90's 00's Japanese work culture. Even now it's still a breakthrough.
But they may or may not be trying to say Fem Light would suffer under male hands or something of that issue.
Would the Task Force hurt fem Light? Doubt it. Most of them are respectful men, the worst I can say is they can get hot headed with each other as men.
Laying hands on Fem Light? No.
They never did that to Misa not counting the time with Soichiro as that was with Light under the impression they were suspects."
K:- "Misa being under arrest and filmed was pretty yikes. And Solitary confinement was already a pretty dark and messed up angle to go. But Light here is the chief of police's daughter. She has the power of Neoptisim and a prior connection with most of them on her side. "
E:- " True true. He already had a bond with them. Misa's arrest was more hostile. Maybe that is what they were referring too?"
K:-"Misa was both treated like a threat and not.
Later on in the prisonorship she had police escort shopping privlages, but at first that image is pretty wack.
And why? What are we supposted to infer from this?"
E :-"I know right? She's a threat enough to keep around surveillance but not enough to stop her from swapping places with friends.
She can show she is capable of fooling people but it's not enough to treat her as a genuine threat. I doubt Misa minds it. It gives her so much leniency to get away with things.
But for fem Light it's infuriating.
But here I wonder if L would see her as a threat?
My canon L doesn't give a fuck about your gender. Only if you can actually play the game. Violence is not restricted by gender. Anyone is capable."
K:- " Are we supposted to infer something about L from Misas outfit while being filmed? I guess its interpritive, but I see it more as L breaking social boundries to make her unconfortable and push her closer to hopefully breaking. Same with the handcuffs really."
E:- " L does that with everyone. She ain't special in that which makes it oddly open minded.L does that to me by getting his damn feet on things."
K:- " I don't think L cares about Gender. But the steryotypes at the time imposed preformances of gender upon most of the players"
E:- "Right right. Such as expected reactions"
K:- "And I admit, I AU for fun. I'm not intrested in exploring the darker timeline where the taskforce is a skeevy to female Light.
And we acknowledged that the world would treat them diffrently by gender from where the concept was first incepted with female L.
Its always been part of the considerations, the Sexisim present in Japan at the time at which Death note was written. Hell, I'm probably missing nuances from it, from not being Japanese nor Not being an adult in the 90s"
E:- "We can only gather what we know and work with it. And once again this is for fun."
: )

Help I got Lost in My Forbidden Wolkids Future AU Again*

See other entries in this tag and if curious about this alternate post-EW history and who these beans are, continue below the cut for the latest ramblings.
In this AU, Aeryn learns she’s pregnant as she’s recovering from the Final Day; the last quarter of EW allowed for some oops. Also contributes to her not realizing/taking her time/it’s already too late to simply end the pregnancy.
Dark, C’oretta, Iyna, other friends/companions start handling Hero duties, handling the Twelve, the Void, etc. Thancred does not travel; with Ameliance helpfully pulling some strings, he buys a small house desperately in need of renovations and repairs on the eastern cliffs of Journey’s End instead. Gives his anxious brain and hands something to do.
They discuss and formalize that marriage thing a lot sooner. Aeryn doesn’t change her name. It’s a very small affair with just the Scions, Aeryn’s immediate family, the Leveilleurs. Varshahn officiates. The Grandmothers try to get a promise for a big traditional Thavnair wedding post-delivery but Aeryn is firmly on the “no” side of that and Thancred backs her up.
Family’s time is split between Sharlayan and Thavnair as the kids grow. Varshahn is an amazing babysitter btw.
There was already a pre-arranged surgery scheduled after healing a few weeks from delivery, but the complications with Tesa's birth make it more imperative, and Aeryn can't have anymore biological children, which she's fine with.
Alphinaud also had some time to sketch an image of a seated Thancred holding Math for the first time, wanting to capture the absolutely stunned and soft look on his friend’s face for a proper painting later. It hangs in the Baldesion Gallery (created in a wing of the Annex to collect writings, art, trophies, mementos, and other artifacts of note to chronicle and archive the history of the Scions) and the painting is considered one of, if not the, greatest of Alphinaud’s works to date.
Over time and circumstances, Aeryn and Thancred also adopt Winter Thunder and Felicity. I know Winter's circumstances, Felicity's are still fuzzy.
All of the Waters kids have basic Limsan Rogue dagger, stealth, and sleight of hand skills. Thancred considers it Necessary and Aeryn doesn’t argue.

Mathur Waters "He reminds me very much of his father--not just in appearance, but in his easy charm. Far more assured and calm than Thancred was back then--though still prone to giving out nicknames." -Nanamo Math excels at strategy and tactics, learning mostly from Alphinaud. He's a reserved, calming friendly, especially next to his twin sister's higher energy. Like his mother, Math seems to be proper, laidback, and levelheaded, but once you scratch the surface, he's got his gremlin side--if it manifests more toward confounding his opponents than in reckless heroics--and has his showboat side. Math prefers Ranged Physical combat, so he can see what’s happening and call orders and encouragement both. Can swap between guns, bows, and chakrams; Math is a True Bard, and knows the Kriegstanz. When he must Tank, Math prefers the gunblade’s versatility and flair. As a Healer, his mother’s connections means he’s learned the Scholarly discipline of Nym, and trains with the reborn Nymian Marines. The analytical approach suits his style.

Natesa Waters "Regardless of faith, I know from the teachings of my youth there is a cosmic law of balance. Only fair my first daughter's so much like me, with her father's charms thrown in the mix." - Aeryn Tesa is a firebrand who gets in your face. She's also charming enough to get herself out of most trouble she gets herself (and her siblings) into. She combines some of her parents best--and worst--qualities in more visible ways than the other three tend to outwardly show. It keeps eyes on Tesa and her shields, after all. And yes. She's a hopeless flirt and secretly a romantic. Prefers Tanking; she likes being the center of attention and keeping others safe. Due to her lifelong fascination with Ishgardian Knights and Ul’dahn Sultansworn, she favors fighting as a Free Paladin, but can use greatswords, axes, and gunblades. When pressed, she can also forgo defensiveness to push damage from her usual weapons, preferring to remain in melee. She’s very good at the family rogue fighting style, passable with katanas, lances, and her fists. As a Healer, Tesa prefers the aggression and defensive capabilities of Sage.

Winter Thunder (Wintdoen Rhotfalksyn, Winter Waters) "I need to learn how to heal cuz you know my younger siblings." "Having known thy parents as long as I have, I can but imagine thy frustrations. Thus shall we delve into the secrets of the stars together." "Thanks Uncle Uri." Child of a young Sharlayan Hellsguard researcher who got tangled up with a faithless Limsan Sea Wolf. Winter was a toddler when his mother studied with Aeryn, and when the woman took ill and passed, Thancred tried to find his father, learning the sordid truth—that the man had also died while out at sea, leaving a widow and three other children in Limsa. So Winter became part of the Waters family. He’s about two and a half years older than the twins, but a meek, quiet man, happy to let Math take charge while Winter ensures everyone's taken care of. He's never tried to contact his half-siblings. He's not even sure they know he exists. So he leans on the Hellsguard name his birth mother gave him, keeping the Sea Wolf name in the background. He jokingly went by "Winter Waters" at Studium, and once also teased "Wintdoen Thancredsyn" but that was vetoed by his siblings. Prefers Healing; his main skill is with Sharlayan Astrology, taught to him by Urianger and Leveva, but he can use the tools and skills of Geomancy, Conjury, Arcanima, and Sages. If he must deal damage—and he’d rather not—he falls back on Arcanima. He is surprisingly adept with an axe, for those who think him too gentle to play a defender role, and is adept enough at magic to summon himself an icy weapon as he must.

Felicity Waters "Felicity, darling, please do your dear old dad a favor and stop trying to give me heart attacks." - Thancred An elezen girl of unknown origins. Small, fair, red-haired and green eyed. Youngest by 18 months, adopted as a yearling. Tends to be fascinated by magic and power and pushes limits she perhaps shouldn’t. Prefers Caster Damage; takes after Aeryn’s Red Magery, but also pushes into Black Magic on top of Thaumaturgy. Knows and swaps into Arcanima and Blue Magic also. When she must heal, Felicity relies on Conjury/White Magic. She thinks her parents don’t know she’s learned Dark Knight skills from one of Sidurgu’s students. Sid keeps tabs on her for Aeryn’s sake and reports back as necessary. She also thinks her parents don’t know she’s studied Reaping with the Lemures, but Aeryn and Iyna’s contacts there also keep the girl under watchful eye.

Aeryn next to her grown kids, and then the kids together. I apparently didn't get any pics of Tesa with Winter, but Tesa and Aeryn are the same height. Felicity is very short for an elezen, while Winter is a very tall roe. There's already pics of Math and Tesa together in other posts; Math is a bit taller than average for a midlander, but not the tallest.
I shoulda picked different filters and lighting, as Math & Tesa seem a bit light; they aren't as dark as Aeryn (and she's not very, depending on lighting, filters, environment, etc), but they aren't as pale as Thancred, either. Also not sure all the heights translated to Carbuncle properly.
The kids are in mixes of gear not currently available to their preferred roles, perhaps, but hey who knows what'll happen in Eorzean Fashion in the next couple of decades. More about their favored styles anyway; most of them preferring light, flexible adventuring gear thanks to their parents' influences and that early Rogue training.
Anyway. That's the latest about this AU from me. It'll be another few months before I trot them out again.
---
*Still @gunbun and @punchelf 's faults. My FC does NOT help. They're like sharks in the water when they sense Shenanigans, and encourage them thoroughly. 😘

19/3/22 and the little things we know about Arknights Endfield
hello hello welcome back to my a9 nonsense rambles and i write this while redownload mumu because now./gg denied my ggplay. no i havent check the tags on this site yet and probably won’t in near future.
note: everything is from the official website and looting from discord to deal with my assumption.
so first we have this
talos-II
the ‘II’ part is actually nothing deep, really. terra is ‘terra 0′, es astris is probably gonna be ‘something-I’, and endfield is talos-II. it’s just their way of naming.
more info according to wiki: Talos - also spelled Talus or Talon was a giant automaton made of bronze to protect Europa in Crete from pirates and invaders, in greek mythology. on the newest CG trailer, the transmission beginned from the space, from a spaceship outside the planet. so with the introduction says ‘explore this world’, we can safely establish A9End that the whole land itself gonna oppose the players, which i suppose is the catastrophes and this:
inorganic swarming constructs is that punishing gray raven
mons3tr, a.k.a. kal’tsit spine, is neither a manifestation of originium arts nor a true living creature. and base on the beta art then mons3tr and those constructs more or less are of a kind. can’t wait to see mons3tr in A9End.
the first pioneers toiled for years to establish a foothold
which means there are many more factions/teams/companies. welcome to Asian OW gacha game. let’s hope that HG can do better than Hoyoverse (tho i love both)
i wonder if there’s native talos-er, besides those inorganic constructs?
it seems that Endfield Industries itself is everything in space exploration / neverland founding field, and ‘we’ are going to be a part of PFRD first. PFRD seems to be an important part which its shutdown strikes at the whole industry. not sure if the tech they’re tasked to recover is the Old Era tech or their own tech (bc y’know, techies from the main house on space probably are expensive, or a chance that those inorganic constructs can absord new and higher tech to evolve themselves as we have seen in one certain case: the seaborn) but maybe both.
originium
so far we’re not sure what th is catastrophe on talos-II and if it’s the same type of catastrophe terra-0 has, nor we know for sure if talos-II has originium and oripathy. i don’t remember the originium catastrophe on terra can physically distort enviroment to the point it creates phenomena, so the Corruption probably another kind of catastrophe.
but does talos-II have originium catas? yes, originium engines exists, so there is originium catas and the pioneers have been exploiting its power for years
this colonel sanders might or might not has oripathy on his head. (btw he’s mgs5 parody lol Lowlight can you stop doing meme)
so i say that in this timeline, oripathy might yet to be a global crisis.
the timeline
well, in case A9 and A9End place on the same planet
you see, the auto this lupo / vulpo is holding is some high tech that not even columbia got, anyone who’s obsessed with terra industries lore can see that. so now we’re basing it on gun now.
exusiai’s file:
the word ‘discovered’ in chinese is 发现, which is discover.
this is the part about gun in A9 artbook, rough translation under (thanks friend)
Gun weapons, shortened as guns, also known as firearms, are a type of weapon that uses spells to pressurise the projectiles to long distance targets. Compared to other weapons, guns belong to a type of new staff type weapon.
The structure resembles wands (Originium firing gear) – crossbows with gun core, which seems more suitable in the study of human factors. The structure of guns is more complicated. Besides requiring a certain industrial standard to manufacture, the user also needs to possess basic shooting skills and basic Originium Arts talent. Besides needing good aiming technique, the strength to control recoil after firing the gun, a well-versed gun user also needs precise, stable, and high frequency spell ability.
On Terra, most guns are produced in Laterano and are used by the Laterano people. Some Columbian technology companies have attempted to create some simple imitations of gun weapons. And to most non-Laterano people, gun weapons are not a type of practical weapon.
A note from translator: 铳 is really just the olden Chinese way of referring to the modern 枪. And based on the other gun related lore, 铳 seems to refer to Laterano guns while 枪 refers to other non Laterano guns. You will see 枪 when it comes to the more unorthodox guns: Sesa and the Rainbow Squad. Sesa himself is an anomaly and a potential catalyst in the gun lore, with his potential to change it in the future with his (brother’s) invention of guns that do not require Originium Arts.
it’s clear that gun on terra is found, not invented. it’s a bit less clear that technology on terra is underdeveloped. yeah, they don’t even have plane. they have helicopter, but what kind of helicopter flying so low that it got shot down by a shoulder cannon? (gravial event if you ask). even specter and gladiia said oldfashioned. terra’s tech is very underdeveloped, especially if the terrans didnt have much choice but develop the things that mainly help them survive the catastrophes.
so again, gun on terra is found and monopolized by laterano. RI itself is a 800 meter-long landship digged up from under dirt by Babel, which means the landship’s based tech belongs to older times. not sure if the terran invented the nomadic cities themselves (probably not given their standard technology, the nomadic city’s tech is definitely higher than that) but:
‘settlements and nomadic cities sheltered by massive walls formed a new foundation for our civilization.’ this means the nomadic city tech, in fact, either exists long before A9End starts or it’s started by the pionners. so i wouldn’t be surprised if A9 later reveals that nomadic city’s core tech isn’t the terran’s.
Old Era and A9End in trailer seems to possess higher tech than A9 too. so yeah, assuming the timeline like this:
Old Era -> A9End -> ... -> A9
something happened with the Old Era first; then the pioneers A9End a.k.a ourterspace men came to recover Old Era’s things and establish new civilization with their high tech; then something happened to them too; then long and long and long shit after shit we got Arknights! when climate somehow became worse and has given birth to countless originium catastrophes and resulted as the suffusion of oripathy and nomadic cities, also the weird mixing technology between the terran’s own tech and the old old tech from both Old Era and A9End era.
...
one more thing
HYPERGRYPH I DEMAND EXPLAINATION
(what if Yan’s shadow has been running since True Lung’s time? what if A9End’s timeline is also True Lung’s timeline????)
#arknights#arknights endfield#im not high while writing this yay#for the first fucking time#man i play too many gacha games

monster high characters as tma entities
because i want to corner the market on stupid tma content (shoutout to @novaslammer for helping me w some of the tougher ones)
anyway
THE BEHOLDING
scarah screams
reasoning:
- she can read minds whether u like it or not - it’s implied she reads them whether SHE likes it or not too
more under the cut
THE BURIED
amanita nightshade
reasoning:
- she spends 1300 years basically incubating in a flower with no room to move, walks around for a day, then goes back to sleep in the flower for another 1300 years. she has no problem with this - she had a chance to free the de nile family from being trapped in their tomb and she decided to just leave em there - she’s one of the only characters to have herself listed as a friend and no one else
THE CORRUPTION
bonita femur
reasoning:
- moth. bug - look at her. look at her hands. her shoes. trypo queen - she canonically eats holes through her clothes
THE DARK
twyla
reasoning:
- daughter of the boogey man - “my friends tell me that i have a shadowy figure or maybe it’s that i am a shadowy figure...” - literally appears to be made of shadow and manifests from it in the movies + cartoons
THE DESOLATION
heath burns
reasoning:
- he’s the son of fire elementals and tends to burst into flames on impulse, yes this has consequences - not chaotic evil, but chaotic stupid is as close as we’re gonna get here
THE END
river styxx
reasoning:
- literally the grim reaper’s daughter
THE FLESH
neighthan rot
reasoning:
- his outfit and the muscle detailing on his face + arm is about as Actually Gory as mh has ever and will ever get - he’s the son of a zombie and a unicorn. that alone brings to mind some. Imagery
THE HUNT
toralei stripe
reasoning:
- has canines, claws, athletic (on soccer team), so aesthetically she’s got it down - mh is not bold enough to confront hunting your peers for sport, so i’m going to consider toralei’s propensity for mischief as a toned down version of hunting - in light of this, the wiki saying she “[finds] no satisfaction in bringing down someone who already is down” sounds an awful lot like someone who enjoys a good chase
THE LONELY
invisi-billy
reasoning:
- “If I concentrate hard enough, I can disappear on cue…at least some of the time. Even when I am invisible, though, my ghoulfriend Scarah Screams knows I’m there, because she can read my mind.” - billy. to quote @novaslammer, “lonely but scarah is his anchor” - he’s a quiet guy ig - sorry to keep quoting him but “I had a dog once, but I had to give him away because every time I took him out for a walk, animal control would try and pick him up as a stray.” jkfgskjds when the lonely keeps pulling you in - he’s not shown being particularly upset or angsty about his condition btw
THE SLAUGHTER
moanica d’kay
reasoning:
- “Pet peeve: Monsters who think we can live peacefully with normies. First, peace is booring.” - she commands a small army of zombies and can forcefully convert humans into zombies. - her strong desire for a war between monsters and humans? slaughter aligned
THE SPIRAL
treesa thornwillow
reasoning:
- fucking, look at her
(credit to azzzaell for the art cuz she doesn’t have an official render)
THE STRANGER
hoodude voodoo
reasoning:
- voodoo dolls are mannequin-adjacent, right - he’s so off-model both as a doll & in the webisodes it’s a little unsettling. i love him - his debut appearance was being frankie stein’s fake boyfriend and he acted like a lifeless ragdoll the whole time, only to come to life and be sad she threw him away. statement ends - he’s dramatic + a theater kid, i feel like that’s stranger criteria
THE VAST
astranova
reasoning:
- she’s an alien - “the entire galaxy is my home.” - hundreds if not thousands of years old, is shown being friends with ever after high characters, and implies there are yet more lands + high schools she’s seen that we’ve never heard of - not the only mh character that flies, but she flies, adds to her case
THE WEB
wydowna spider
reasoning:
- spider
thank you all for coming!

Let’s Talk About Steven Universe
*WARNING* This … “essay” has my opinions only. I am not speaking for the community, I am speaking for me because I like to express myself and there are people like @susanaaatc out there who like these kinds of discussions. So if you want, I’d like for others to give me their whole opinions on the show as well. Hell make a whole post about it like I did and tag me in it so that I can see your opinion. With all that stated, let’s get down to Bismuth.
So Steven Universe came out in 2013 and I was 11 years old at the time. I liked Regular Show and Adventure Time, not to mention I was obsessed with Rise of the Guardians and Monster High, so I was a bit preoccupied to watch the show. Eventually though, my best friend at the time talked about it constantly and she brought up the concept of fusion. She showed me the art book of the show that she bought and it showed how two completely different gems could fuse into one gem to become stronger. This is where my interest started, and it was the same concept that started pushing me away from SU later in it’s show run.
So fusion in Steven Universe is mostly treated as a relationship, and it’s not always just romantic. It can be between two friends, it can be seen as a more sexual relationship between two gems, a romantic relationship, or a parent-child relationship like with Steg (Steven and Greg’s fusion). This is an amazing concept and I love it so much but… I’m not here to talk about what I like, I’m here to talk about what I dislike.
One of the best characters in the show is Garnet. Garnet was revealed in season 2 (I think) to be a fusion between the two tiny gems Ruby and Sapphire, and Garnet is the manifestation of their love. She’s an amazing example of not only a healthy, respecting, and loving relationship between two people, but also is an amazing example of a healthy same-sex relationship. You see, Steven Universe uses “code” to represent something like race, gender, and age… But we’ll get to that later. My problem isn’t really with Garnet herself, but what Rebecca and the Crewniverse has made her in to. Many have said it before, and I agree. After her reveal as a fusion, Garnet was no longer the cool, collected, fun-in-her-own-way “mom” we knew before, she turned into a fusion, and a symbol for fusion, and a representation… of a fusion. After the reveal, all the crewniverse seemed to view Garnet as… was a fucking fusion! She lost a lot of personality in the 3rd and 4th seasons in my opinion and was really only used in the plot when it had something to do with fusion. To me it’s like having a friend group with only one Asian friend and the rest a different race, and then only inviting the Asian friend to hang out when you’re going to watch Anime, or a Kdrama. It’s a bit racist is it not? Just because you can relate a character to something in the plot does not mean that character has to be there. Maybe instead of putting Garnet in every fusion episode (with the exception of “Earthlings”) just mention her. She doesn’t have to be in every damn episode that has to do with the subject.
A lot of people have an issue with Bismuth… and I can understand that. Let me explain why. “Coding” is what a creator of any media does to give the consumer an idea of a character’s personality, race, age, gender, etc, without it being too obvious. Off the top of my head I’ll state what I view the “coded” characters as.
Garnet, Sapphire, Sugilite, and Bismuth are coded Black.
Amethyst to my knowledge is coded Hispanic or Latina or something like that.
Pearl, the Diamonds, Opal, and Rose Quartz are coded White.
Rainbow Quartz and Aqua Marine are coded White and British.
And I’m not sure about Peridot, Lapis and Jasper are supposed to be coded as.
So the race thing has brought up some issues. In the official artbook that I mentioned earlier there was a concept design for Concrete and the design was a little… oof. People weren’t very happy… lemme just show you.
So obviously people weren’t happy that good ol’ Concrete here looks like a blackface character from the early 20th century animations. And I agree it’s pretty bad, but I don’t think it was intentional.
Some controversial things that come from the show (other than countries like Kenya being assholes and trying to act like LGBTQ doesn’t exist) are the portrayals of two specific characters, who also happen to be fusions, and I agree with most things people don’t like about them.
Let’s start with Stevonnie. Stevonnie is the nonbinary (but let’s be honest she’s a girl) fusion of Steven Universe and his love interest Connie Maheswaran (I had to look up how to spell her last name smh). They’re supposed to represent Steven and Connie’s closeness as best friends and their growing crushes on each other. Rebecca Sugar has also stated that they’re a representation of puberty…. Excuse me? Puberty must have went swell for you Sugar. There’s someone who made a video about why they hate SU, that person being the ever controversial Lily Orchard, and she covered why Stevonnie is just… honestly she’s waifu bait. I agree with probably everything Lily says about this character because… it’s true. Puberty seriously ain’t pretty, and it sure as hell ain’t sexy until after it’s done… sometimes. Also, Sugar is contradicting herself saying that the Crewniverse isn’t sexualizing two very under age kids because Stevonnie is Steven and Connie’s ages added up… which would make the fusion 26 years old… that’s a bit old for puberty Rebecca. It feels to me like they wanted to make a sensual character, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but they didn’t really want to add a new character so they just put the two love interests together. But that’s so fucking wrong. I’m sorry, but sexualizing Stevonnie, which they are doing btw, I will make a post if you question it, is like people shipping siblings or an underage person with someone way older than them and saying “it’s totally fine because they’re just characters” (*cough cough* Ereri *cough cough* Hitachiin shippers *cough*). If you’re going to use that excuse, but then get angry at people who don’t take the character seriously because they are just a cartoon, then you’re a hypocritical asshole. Sorry to tell you. Stevonnie is a very good character overall though. I’m just uncomfortable when they appear because they’re two kids in a trench-coat with curves like an anime schoolgirl and moves like someone who just successfully seduced a poor guy into giving them the secret to the Crabby Patty formula.
Now let’s move on to Steg, the fusion between father Greg Universe, and son Steven. There’s nothing wrong with them fusing because fusion in SU symbolizes a relationship, no matter what kind. However… why do two chubby men make a sex symbol rock idol??? That’s… that’s gross. Why the fuck is Steg so “hot”? Why on earth would you create a fusion out of a father and son and think it’s appropriate to sexualize them and make them gyrate their genitals like they’re an Elvis Presley impersonator? Just… WHY? Do I even have to explain why this is so wrong? Really? Honestly??? You can fuse Steven and Greg and not make it so sexual, but nah let’s give them rock hard abs, a humongous bulge a sharp jawline that neither of the two have, and a tight ass. What the actual fuck??
That’s not my biggest issue though. My biggest issue is giving the Nazi bitches a redemption ark smaller than my nonexistent cock. Endeavor from My Hero Academia is an absolute prick right? He abused his children, notably his youngest, and his wife, and is an absolute asshole to everyone, but he gets a redemption arch. Do you know why it makes sense though? First off because as far as we know Endeavor never committed genocide, and second because he’s not a Nazi, he’s an abuser. Abusers, whether we like to admit it or not, can eventually see the error of their ways and understand that what they’re doing is both wrong and that it doesn’t work. Endeavor is getting a redemption arch because he obviously loves his kids, he just doesn’t know how to show it because of some circumstances we may not know. 90% of the time an abuser was abused themselves growing up, so they grow up with that resentment and they go one of two ways. They see how wrong it is and knows that it won’t get them anywhere in life if they bully others to stay on top, or they think that since they went through it and came out alive, then others should go through it too. I should know, because my dad was from an abusive family, and he turned out fine(ish… long story) while his brother and sister are pieces of shit that can’t hold a job or a home because they’re too involved in criminal activity to do so.
What does Endeavor from MHA have to do with the Space Nazi Diamonds in SU? Well people were sending Horikoshi Kohei death threats because he had the gull to redeem an asshole, and SU fans are pissed because Rebecca Sugar had the lady balls to “redeem” space Nazis. The difference being, you can be redeemed if you were an abusive cock, but not if you’re a genocidal bitch. There’s a huge difference.
Rebecca and the Crewniverse giving the Diamonds a 4 episode redemption arch is absolutely abominable. Peridot’s redemption? Fucking amazing, beautiful, couldn’t have done it better myself. Jasper’s? It’s currently going amazing and they’re doing a great job keeping her in character while also making her likable and even a bit charming. Lapis? Oh… let’s talk about her shall we?
Lapis Lazuli’s character is an absolute disaster. She’s a cunt, she’s a horrible friend, and my god is she abusive! Lapis was supposed to be a sympathetic character, and for a while she was. You could feel bad for her because her gem was damaged and she was trapped in a mirror for thousands of years and when she’s finally released, you understand her want to go back home and why she took the Earth’s ocean to try and reach it. It was understandable when she didn’t want to break out of the prison ship because she was anxious and scared of being locked away for another thousand years. It was easier in her mind to just behave and wait. When Jasper convinced her to fuse with her Lapis didn’t really want to, but saw an opening for the freedom of the humans and mostly for Steven, the one person who saved her from hell. But then everything went south.
Lapis and Jasper were fused as Malachite for months, obviously in a very stressful “relationship”, and apparently a very abusive one as well. When they were finally able to unfuse, Lapis was played off by the Crewniverse as a victim of abuse. This may be half true. After all we don’t know exactly what happened with them at the bottom of the ocean. What we do know however is that Lapis admitted to being abusive. This makes her an abuser. She described how it made her feel happy to abuse Jasper, or “taking my anger out” on her. She admitted to abuse and the Crewniverse still painted her as a victim. They’re both victims of abuse, and they’re both abusers. But that’s not what makes Lapis a horrible person… gem…
Lapis is a cunt… again. It’s okay to be antisocial, it’s okay to be cautious and stand-offish because you’ve been trapped, imprisoned and used so many times. What’s not okay is being a bitch to people trying to comfort or make friends with you, or try to cheer you up. Poor Peri, she was just trying to make amends and comfort Lapis after her whole ordeal with Jasper. Peri offered the cunt the thing that helped her organize her thoughts, the thing that calmed her in situations that made her anxious, the thing that comforted her and the first gift given to her by her first friend and the first person that listened to her thoughts, and the cunt destroyed it. She destroyed Peri’s recorder right in front of her, calling it garbage. Oh and the abuse doesn’t stop there, it only really began, because when shit started to hit the fan, instead of helping each other through it, Lapis abandoned Peridot and took the home they shared. Without a single thought she just took it and abandoned her, and it devastated Peri. I don’t remember her apologizing, and if she did it doesn’t matter because if I don’t remember then it must not have been very sincere.
I’m sick of spitting negative shit so I’m gonna end this here. Personally I’ve been liking the last few episodes, but I’m not too confident that the finale is gonna be satisfying. Those are my thoughts, do with it as you will, but for God’s sake be fucking adults about it. If you don’t got the guts to curse without saying “h3ll” or “pu$$y” or something like that then you’re not mature enough to respond to this. I’m not gonna argue with 9-year-olds. I’ll only have a conversation with mature people.

I found your blog through the Dolphins and Ducks Verse (which I am absolute thrilled about, btw), and I must tell you that I adore your design and portrayal of Book!Crowley and Aziraphale: Crowley with his restless energy, which alternately manifests as enthusiasm or anxiety; and Aziraphale, who does his best to be kind and angelic, but really just want the world to left him alone to his books and food. Thanks for making and sharing your art. Have a nice day!
aah thankyou so much! ‘0′ you’ve put it really beautifully, i appreciate it. i hope you enjoy the first official part when it comes around! ^-^

Magneto In Sonic Frontiers
So not that it makes sense to most people since its hard for me to get out official sonic x dimensions ridge lore but as part of a character progression thingy I have for Mag here is the rundown for prime mag (so main universe mag) character progression so like most characters he’s shaped by the decisions he’s made, the events around him, and the choices he makes now. He basically started at the beginning of this chart at the start of the story and lands between lawful evil and neutral evil at this point, probably leaning more toward lawful evil only because he still holds to certain beliefs despite what has happened, even if his views on it has changed
So that lead into his current design DarkStar Mag.
Most people don’t know this but Mag was initially an energy user. Had a rare form of energy called freeform energy that could change its properties based on the user and their needs. This allowed him to do incredibly things like copy abilities, use his energy for flight, etc. Coming from a long line of prominent figures in past wars known for their fighting abilities and prowess, his power was nothing to sneeze at. Unfortunately in a spite fueled revenge plot against the grandfather, Magneto’s dad, Gambit plotted to train Mag and warp him into a being capable of pulling himself out of his grandfather’s shadow, and also forcing his essence on mag to warp his mind like his.. Kinda like endeavor. This fell through when mag caught on to what was going on and refused to continue being a part of this ploy to erase his grandfather’s legacy as well as not wanting to be forced into being a pawn practically brainwashed into Gambits bidding. Yeah Gambit didn’t like that. Gambit originally wanted Maverick for the same purpose but switched to mag when that plan had fallen through. Through some events eventually Gambit sought out Mag’s sister pinky for the same purpose but both mag and Ellen, his mother stepped in and managed to force him to back off. This was back when they lived in tipple town, a disturbing town overseen by essentially a cult. They then moved to jump junction along with some of the other Tipple town residents for a much better life. However Gambit would soon return seeking Pinky’s power which they had inherited from her mother, both toon force users. Mag, not one to stand idly by went to intervene why Pinky ran off into the forest in fear. Gambit mocked saying how would Mag ever even have a chance at stopping him. Evidently though they threw major hands like never before. Mag had been suppressing his powers because they had been gaining considerable strength and he was also hoping by suppressing the power it would make it harder for Gambit to find them again. At this time his energy color was blue. It changes through the story. Gambit’s energy is purple. This is somewhat important. This event is also what created Neo. I’ll make a separate post on that. here is the fight theme btw if you’re interested as they fought through the forest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw912ZHKj8w Mag ended up overcharging his ability to blow them both up after Gambit tried a move to drain his power away from him. This move, was not the best for either as it badly damaged both of them. Some of the other townsfolk along with Ellen managed to force a battle damaged Gambit to retreat. The damage caused by overcharging had left its mark on Mag too however as he proceeded to be unable to use his powers up until a year or so later. Even then it didn’t manifest the same way. It turned orange, and was magnetic but only at the lowest setting. Later he manifested metal as a defense mechanism. Yeah Mag wasn’t originally born a metal user, but it manifested after he saw Jonathan’s dad, Disk, fighting off a battle damaged Gambit.
I thought I had better art of disk but I don’t. Here he is. He needs an update so he can look more like his son.
That’s Jonathon in the middle. So mainly what I want to talk about is that at this point the main conflict has been over for a little while now, and things have calmed down from a little fiasco involving mag and friends trying to split the planet a little earlier because they are trying to prevent a bad thing they say from happening and also the alt mags got together to try and use all the power sources they could to revive prime mag who is being preserved in a crystal. Sonic and friends have gotten used to the planet fuse and try to stop them. Even after finding out whats really going on there is some minor conflict but eventually they work it out. Mag is woken up and one of the alt mag’s lends him the new Darkstar mag form. Darkstar Mag or Oblique, is basically Mag if he had accepted the training from Gambit before and honed in on his dark powers, however, Oblique overthrew Gambit using his new power as he wasn’t too fond of the idea of being a pawn. Oblique had come to be the same way as neo, during that event created another universe. Since he had been honing his skill and wasn’t held back by the same moral code, he easily dealt with the gambit of his universe. However in normal mag fashion, he sought to resurrect prime mag and get him on his side as well. Gathering up as many universe mag’s as he could, he formed a coupe of the main universe with the help of DewDrop who was trying to heal prime mag and also wake him from his slumber. She also found out about the vision of something bad happening and wanted to prevent it. well in my version of frontiers Sufferous, who they had recently imprisoned in a dimension where he had no power, got out thanks to a remnant of his power crossing dimensions and letting him out. Prime Mag, who was recently awakened and granted Darkstar form but lacks the power he originally had to deal with Sufferous, sends out a distress signal and harness cyberspace to keep Sufferous sealed up until the other can arrive to help. Sage was meant to assist with this however due to corruption accidently mistakenly sees sonic as an enemy and him trying to stop her from her main objective, protecting the residents of the planet. Sonic then has to work with DewDrop,Katie and the M.A.G. system, and ai Prime mag created to stop sage and also find out what prime mag really intended.

I did a what if like if Mag had to fight the titans which could have been corrupted at first while he was trying to use cyberspace to seal Sufferous enemies not knowing about the other entity the END being at play as well. Seeing as the spirit gems are mostly powering the system he’s using as a seal he has to rely on other power sources, right now he is using the dark power he originally rejected using, but its gonna take more than that since he’s already been fighting earlier. So I have him unlock forever force as companions on that Island with the knight since its theme has aspects of all of them, Enigma,s laugh, Eternity pushing past his limits, and infinite not backing down drowning the pain respectively.
this is them forever force. Infinite has illusions, Eternity polarity which he uses to manipulate gravity and Enigma was evolution. They each have a stone respectively and a weapon. Eternity a spear and the dark opal, infinite his blade and the phantom ruby, enigma the evolving peridot and a futuristic blaster. Since they are on Mag’s side at this point they could give him pointers and lend him power for the fight against the knight titan. He’d be able to use their powers and weapons to aid him as shown here:
Illusions to help fight off the knights minions, gravity to hold down the sliding knight, infinites sword to meet him in combat similar to black knight, you could throw Eternity spear to counter act the titans shield throw and you could switch to enigma’s blaster which would evolve to be strong enough to damage the titans. You could also combo attack by using illusions to multi blast or just evolve eternitys gravity spear to throw even more attacks. all while this theme plays:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QL0Z9UvDW3c

(scheduled to post this around noon on thursday my time.)
as we head into this (american) thanksgiving, a lot of us are gonna be dealing with some Grade A Bullshit: retail work, bigoted relatives, etc. i wasn’t actually gonna do this originally, but then i realized what holiday was coming up right around the time of my blogiversary and i was like... welp. alright. guess we’re doing this then. things lined up too perfectly NOT to, and things can be kinda shitty for people around this time of year, so let’s put a little positivity back into the community! or something like that.
(yes i realize some of the people here are not american. no reason to deny my love tho.)
anyway, onto the callouts!
@ultimatetalentless have i talked about how much i love sin’s hinut lately? his and nanami’s friendship/rivalry (and his and chibot’s unresolved romantic tension) is so much fun to write and it’s so great having an Angst Partner to shoot terrible ideas at. on top of that i love talking to sin out of character and sharing some of the things we come across that remind each other of our muses.
@mideoku julie followed me and the following day, snakes started manifesting physically in my house. i get no peace from them. they follow me home every day and beat me down with a two by four while yelling down with cis. but if we’re being real here julie’s shitposting lights up my dashboard every day for better or worse and theyre actually a really cool person. we’ll fight in pokemon when u catch up to me binch
@steinways sarah’s one of my oldest mutuals from all the way back when she just had her mahiru and i?? love sarah?? she’s such a sweetheart and all of her characterizations are so absolutely stellar. 10/10 would sarah again and also she made my theme so. yknow. amazing all around
@ongakuvoices rio’s a special brilliant soul w so much love for their muses and it shows in everything they write... i adore both their ibuki and their nagisa to pieces!! i know theyre gonna go places in life and ill be over here cheering them on from the sidelines, probably holding up some signs with memes on them
@jrco-disd actually i hate seth. nevermind. i’m not doing this
@nullverum boss was like one of the first ndrv3 blogs i interacted with long before the game had its official english release. i remember i made a post a while before saying that i thought ouma/nami would be a strange but cute brotp and hell! i was absolutely right in every way. its even funnier upon finding out ou/ma kind of plays the na/nami role just as much as the ko/maeda role in actuality (he’s gotta do both since a CERTAIN SOMEONE gets fridged at the beginning), so they’re surprisingly good (bad, actually) for each other.
@ayatsurii sparkle’s peko is great ok? best sword girlfriend, would shower her in love and affection and cute things. nanami apparently has a thing for taller, stoic individuals with red eyes who could kick her ass one-handed. (don’t we all tho??) ahem. anyway. would recommend sparkle’s pekpek.
@kibouzuru i know we were mutuals for a while before i got involved with truth syndicate stuff? i feel silly not having interacted with u before because i rly should have. im really glad i got a chance to bc u and ur egg are cool (well, naegi’s a total dork) and now i can have nanami tease leggy and eggy about their relationship. she’s gotta get back at hinata for all those years of short jokes somehow, too bad naegi’s just collateral
@hikaup i remember i was on the lookout for pokemon blogs a while back and i stumbled across ur blog and was like... what the heck, this hikari seems way too cool... and wow!! i was totally right!! i love ur portrayal so much it’s such good shit and chiaki and hikari already have such a good dynamic. i hope chiaki gets to do Spooky Shit with hikari someday (and maybe even hold hands???? lets not get ahead of ourselves here) btw i get whiplash from how often u put out amazing themes
@kibcu
and yes, im gonna be at your basketball game tomorrow. stop telling me about it
@cantalazarus u know how i feel about u. ur smart and funny and talented and ur take on ur muses is So Good and
@malchancevilain watchy is another one of my oldest mutuals and its always great to see their togami on my dash! we’ve been in a few group verses together now and i love seeing how he handles different situations (always with a great degree of salt) and just hanging out ooc! also: greg grimaldis wherever you are you better believe im getting those fifteen dollars back *mic drop*
@seineijashu oh.
hey nerd. we havent rly spoken much in a while but im still out here 100% in ur corner and i love everything u do. i know i dont know like anything about Boruto’s Dad like i said (im more a hunter x hunter guy myself,,,) but even if roleplaying opportunities are scarce im still totally down to talk like any time. now if only our time zones would line up. ps theres a secret message hidden here did you see it
@hopefromtheordinary it’s so great to see you back in the dr rpc! i loved your komaeda and your kamukura way back when. i love the twin shenanigans you and sin get up to (serious or crack) and i really can’t wait to get more chibot/kamukura stuff going! im excited i hope ur excited too
@gamblingqueen ANOTHER person i’m so glad to see back over here!! u were one of the first people to rly plot with me to any extent ooc and i am very excited to get right back into it! chiaki and celes are such an odd pair, but it’s wonderful to see them interact after they’ve both been brought so low. im over here rubbing my hands together at the speed of light in anticipation
@mxssias if naegi tries to get nanami to watch sword art online with him one more time shes gonna kill him and hide the body in the reserve course grounds. ahem. anyway. alex you’re such a little shit but you’re funny and i love your egg boy even if he’s constantly getting himself into trouble and sacrificing himself like he doesnt have anything better to do. get that boy a better hobby? thanks
and sorry if i forgot anybody! doing these is kind of exhausting for me and i might have gotten a little lazy, but i tried to hit most of the people i’ve been in contact with ooc at least a bit (who have been active within the past week or so).
...
...
.........................
@jrco-disd ok fine fuck you. seth was one of the first people in the fandom to reach out to me and even if he’s often belligerent at me for no good reason (ok, fine, maybe i deserve it) i still really appreciate his friendship and am glad that we can exchange shitty sonic memes with each other. the day we get that sonic forces monster factory is the day we both can die happy, probably after strangling each other
#jnfbhjng i hate how in some of these i talk abt them like theyre not the ones reading this#and in others i address them directly#but im not rewriting this now!! take it or leave it!!#[welcome to my christian minecraft server // ooc]#follow forever

A Discovery of Beltane: Part 2 - Celebrating Me, Myself & I
My interpretation of Beltane is understanding what you find pleasurable; and celebrating it. Everyone has their own version of pleasure.
For me, Hello Magick!!!
In part 1, I talked a little bit about why I personally, find pleasure in sex, especially on Beltane. Part 2, is about finding my inner pleasure.
It was early, like 7am early - not crazy 5am early. (sidenote: #quarantine2020). So, as any good witch would do, I rose early to collect some Beltane Morning Dew. Said to have properties of beauty and youth – and I am wanting some of that.
Especially, now that I am officially middle-aged. (Which, btw which low-key freaks me the fuck out, but I’m human and trying to have some grace with myself). I specifically wanted to store some for days down the road for when I wasn’t feeling my prettiest and needed a little confidence boost internally and externally. .
I managed to get a couple tbsp. See Beltane Fail below.
But first. Coffee.
I was frocked with comfy blankets and my go-to furry robe, sleepy AF with my hair tied back. Yet, I was also excited, like a grown-up Christmas. Except the night ends in good loving (whatever that means to you).
While sipping my morning brew, journal in hand I meditated in my garden. Right, in this spot.

This spot, in particular is a place of power, effort, love and manifestation. Something that I have discovered during quarantine. You can read more about this in my forthcoming blog; garden journey. #quarantine2020
I primarily spent most of the time grounding and actually focusing on what my body found pleasurable. As a green witch being still in nature stirs my body like nothing else. The crispness of the air, the sounds of the birds; unfortunately no heat of the sun – hence comfy robe – but the light of the sun was bright. It was rad.
As my mind began to wake up and shake off the sleepiness, I focused on getting my body to wake up as well. I gently stretched and rubbed my body the way I would wake my kids in the morning when they were little. With playful pinches, rubs and tickles. I honestly tried, waking up the nethers but it was an initial no go. I wasn’t ready.
So, listening to my body. I backed the fuck off – and I just sat. I looked at flowers, I listened to birds, I warmed my body, safely under a blanket. I breathed and did my best (I’m not an expert meditator) to focus on my chakras until each was warm and glowing.
Then, magically...stillness.
I can legit say, I have no idea how long this took but it poured out of me. I journaled the fuck out of my hand! (bet you thought I was going to same something else…wink, wink).
I journaled the fuck out of my hand! (bet you thought I was going to same something else…wink, wink).
Here’s what “it” was.
Then, as it was still quiet, I gave myself to my body. I felt the warmth within me, the goddess, the horned god, the earth. The only way I can describe it is through the words of an amazing Ohio band I’ve adored since the ripe age of 17. #Over the Rhine.
I want to feel and then some, I have five senses, I need thousands more, at least.
My senses and my body were definitely awake and bubbling with life energy. Then, as a respectful celebration. I had an absolutely wonderful time having sex – with my. self. And I must say, I am quite the lover 😘😘

Love and Light,
Astrid

Beltane Dew Fail:
The night before I laid out a bunch of clean fresh washcloths and hankys, hoping to be able to ring them out in the morning. Did not get a drop… resorted to old school survival skills and gently poured dew drops from larger leaves into a mason jar.

Miscellaneous Rune Factory 4 Secrets/Lil Cute Things I Noticed!
Dunno if any of this is helpful, and probably most people already know cos im a dummy who didnt read any walkthroughs or anything, but MEH I wanna squee about how neat these details are anyway! :D
* Every super giant version of a vegetable has a unique name (E.g. Doom Pumpkin, Ultra Toyherb and Maximum Pink) And did you notice that in the credits all the english translation team use one of these as a nickname? That’s adorable! * One of the requests is a tad confusing cos it asks to harvest a ‘Shining Tree’ but the crop is actually named Twinkle Tree. (Even though the seed is Shining Seed) I got stumped on that for a while cos I thought the tree still had another growth stage if I watered it more. Aside from that I havent seen a single translation mistake, which is amazing! * You can get unique dialogue if you have a character in your party while inspecting certain parts of the map. So far all I’ve found is that Arthur explains all the mysterious crates of trading items on the airship, and margaret gives you free fruit if you check the various things in her house. (only once though!) She also talks about how some famous historical composers were part of the De Sainte Coquille family. (for example Beet Hoven XD) * You can befriend boss monsters which is Really Friggin Cool and I’m glad I discovered it by accident instead of reading a guide! Its just so badass to use their hella annoying attacks against enemies and tear them aprt, or ride about on something that takes up the entire map! * But yeah anyway the fun trivia part: the secret boss recruitment items for the guardian rematches are the same as the best friendship items for the characters themselves! Marionetta is the easiest to recruit cos she just loves the highest level cake items, which you can get fairly often in Porco and Dylas’s daily food shop. Oh bonus fun tip- they each sell different dishes each day so check both if you’re looking for something! It can help a lot when you need like thirty damn Apple Pie/Cheesecake to capture your best friend’s monster self. *Thunderbolt likes the giant crop version of carrots, but i havent grown one yet. I’m not sure what exactly Ambrosia and Sarcophogus like, is there even a higher level version of honey and mushrooms...? Maybe its a high level flower and one of the lategame salted fish recipes...? * Oh and it seems some boss monsters who have a particularly large amount of attacks have some that they cant use while you’re riding them, since there’s only three buttons. Marionetta cant use the one where she throws plush toys unless you dismount. And it seems she can’t ever use the one where she locks you in a treasure chest while she’s a pet monster, I guess it was hard to reprogam the animation for different enemies? * Also i just find it silly cute that marionetta’s ride animation has her as if she’s on an invisible motorbike, for no logical reason! * It seems Pico actually was part of the Marionetta guardian monster, even though she could still manifest as a ghost? or something? The concept art shows a pair of monsterous hands with eyeballs that operate the marionette strings, and Marionetta’s pet monster description gives this other monster the name Handetta and seems to talk about it as if it has Pico’s personality. I dunno, maybe monster-dolce manifested a pico duplicate because she was lonely, or pico was casting a spell to create those marionette hands so she could keep her monsterified friend from hurting people? Its an interesting lil trivia that gives me fanfic ideas! * The Dead Tree boss monster’s apples are apparantly flat 2D textures, you just cant see cos it never turns its head while fighting you. But it looks kinda hilarious when its your pet! * If you wear a costume and go on a date with someone, it seems they’re quite likely to change into their version of the costume too. And if they’re wearing a costume on the world map they’ll stay in it if you add them to your party, and won’t change back until you send them home. I had fun always grabbing everybody during beach day and slumber parties before I was able to unlock the costumes for myself! It was a nice preview cos certain characters wear the same costume as the protagonist, just in different colours. (Btw this only works for swimsuit and pyjamas, not the rainbow of recolours for the default outfit) * For some reason characters still say ‘i wont go on a date til you get rid of that third wheel’ even when your other party member is just a monster. I would have thought it would be perfectly fine to bring my pet along :P I kinda hope that if we get a rune factory 5 then maybe there could be two-seater monsters where you can both ride while on a date and get special cuteness! :D * if you clear the leon karnak revisited dungeon before getting the super secret postgame quest to revive [certain person who died in the ending], you get a bonus awkward scene of reaching the top and nothing is there but Leon’s two shrine fox statues. Protagonist says ‘i just wanted to visit you guys’ and they’re like ‘wtf this is most irregular’. You can even give them gifts! (but they dont have a friendship bar to raise so youre just wasting your items lol) * if you clear the maya road snowfield dungeon before starting the act 2 quest where you’re SUPPOSED to clear that dungeon, nothing actually happens and you just cant walk through the final door to the next dungeon. Then annoyingly when you do initiate the quets all the switches in the dungeon reset so you have to do it again even though your map shows that you already finished it. I just find it odd cos Leon Karnak showed the developers thought about sequence breaking, but here they didnt. I was annoyed cos I stumbled in there entirely by accident and didnt even realize I had to initiate a quest first! * For some reason Doug hates bread and toast but is fine about sandwiches. And its a bit unintuitive to figure out Leon’s ‘likes poisonous things’ tip, cos he reacts the same as everyone else when you give him most poisonous dungeon items- getting pissed off that you gave him ‘trash’. IM SORRY LEON! It seems he only likes mushrooms and certain fish thatre stated to be poisonous uncooked. But then every other fish he only likes it if its cooked. Why u confusig, Leon?? * Dylas has the most favourite items, loving carrots, milk, fish, sashimi and anything else related. Kinda ironic that the self-proclaimed grumpy guts is the easiest to befriend! * I’m not sure if this is official canon or not, but it might be possible that Doug is related to Zaid from Rune Factory 3. Both of them have a backstory of their tribe being destroyed by invading humans, and they share silver eyes that might possibly be that tribe’s trait? (I dont think any other character has them) * Daria from RF3 could also possibly be Margaret’s sister. Raven says that there’s a resembelance between Margaret and ‘an elf in my village’, and Margaret mentions having a sister who’s an artist, so it might be her? * Oh and more obviously Porcoline is related to the De Saint Coquille family from RF3. And I havent personally played RF1 and 2 yet but from what I’ve heard there are other De Saint Coquilles cameoing in every game in the series? Thats cool! I wonder if they all share that same weird art style? * For some reason your son/daughter character always has Frey’s colourscheme even if you play as Lest. That’s really weird! I guess maybe they ran out of memory space to add two sets, but why didnt they just make the male and female protagonist have the same hair colour? * The promotional Nintendo Dream manga has the romances for the protagonists set as Dolce for Lest and Dylas for Frey. So thats the closest thing we have to an answer on the developers’ favourite routes, and we can assume maybe they liked Frey as the main protagonist? Though I’m not personally too hung up on which option is more canon, lol!
#bunni plays rf4#if i find any more stuff that other people might like to know i shall add another post!
