My Happy Marriage Season 2 Future Storyline

Now that Season 2 of My Happy Marriage has been confirmed, I have a pretty good idea about what to expect for the upcoming season in the new year.

Season 1 focused on the Light Novel Vols 1-2, introducing the main characters, concept and love story. Aside from introducing the basics, the main storyline was how several different families whether the Saimori, Usaba or Tatsuishi's were trying to tear Miyo and Kiyoka apart for their own benefits.

It's a safe bet that Season 2 will focus on Vols 3-4 where Miyo and Kiyoka face new challenges and milestones for their relationship.

Volume 3 focuses on Miyo and Kiyoka visiting the Kudo family estate and finally the long awaited introduction of Kiyoka's parents. During this time, Miyo is trying to gain the acceptance and approval of her future mother-in-law which is easier said than done. Meanwhile, this family visit also serves as a business trip for Kiyoka, who must take care of a new threat on the horizon.

Volume 4 focuses on Miyo being targeted by a new antagonist, Naoshi Usui who has a connection to her late mother. To be kept safe, Miyo must now accompany Kiyoka to work and Kaoruko, a female bodyguard has been assigned to protect her. Now Miyo must deal with a threat on her life, sexism and... jealousy when Kaoruko is revealed to be one of Kiyoka's previous marriage candidates!

I've read these stories and they are REALLY good so I'm happy to see they'll officially come to life in the anime next year. This is gonna be good. I can't wait for season 2 and I'm especially looking forward to all the new major milestones in store for Miyo and Kiyoka's love story. Trust me, you won't want to miss it!

People hate Teruteru because he doesn't stay long enough to grow as a character. If Fuyuhiko died in Chapter 1 or 2 people would despise him too. He was AWFUL before becoming the mom friend chapter 3 onwards. My personal least favorite of SDR2 is Mikan because she's incredibly annoying most of the time but the fandom sees her as untouchable because of her trauma, ESPECIALLY on Reddit. Name one Danganronpa character.that DOESN'T have trauma?

i'd seen trial 3 before ever playing the game so i knew fuyu would change (didn't know WHY 8'D) so i didn't really experience the full scope of how.....horrible he was glksnd but he super was. i read a fic where peko actually outlived him and he was pretty realistically insufferable.

still, i do think teru is very pleasant sometimes but in my brain it's a toss-up on whether or not he would've been annoying if he'd been around longer. and it's true about mikan...interesting characters, lotsa double standards, eh

I actually wound up typing this in a friend’s dms last night, so I can gladly share! (With some tweaks cause I got a wee bit salty at the end and I’m not gonna post that publicly.)

Like, the thing with winter troupe is that they’re all obscenely emotionally constipated, like, they’ve been through their shit and need an extra push to start getting past it, which is what the torment doll and the loupe of sincerity and the unopening door do! They start that process of growth because the characters themselves are unable or unwilling to!

The time loop doesn’t solve Tsumugi and Tasuku’s latent issues, just pushes them to talk again so they can start to move on and become friends again (which is pointed out by them having a giant convo towards the end of act 4 without any supernatural interference). Homare doesn’t need to read people’s minds and know what they’re thinking, he just needs to know that they don’t hate him for being blunt so he can muster up the courage to make things right (which is why the loupe WORKS for him; the anime specifically made this point really clear for me, though I just might not have been paying close enough attention during that part in the game). The unopening door definitely doesn’t solve Hisoka and Azuma’s issues, either; it’s used for a completely different purpose for Hisoka (setting up his issues while he’s still generally unable to remember them), and for Azuma…okay, being totally honest, I haven’t read Nocturnality yet (I KNOW, I’m going to!) but the bits I’ve seen make it really obvious that that’s the point where Azuma’s issues get tackled in a meaningful way. (Which is also part of why, from my understanding, the troupe-unifying moment that most troupes get during their story doesn’t happen until Nocturnality.)

And like. The weird supernatural shit (plus everything about Hisoka and Chikage’s existence, actually) makes Guy being an android way more plausible—I don’t think I saw a single person actually question it when act 8 hit EN, even the folks who thought it was ridiculous—so the reveal that he’s not an android and is actually a normal human with a shitload of emotional abuse trauma hits that much harder, at least for me. It’s really neat storytelling imo! And I get really bummed that people seem to miss it!

(I think there’s some more to be said, both about the other Mankai mysteries—the fact that the dorm ghost (Misumi) and the utilities somehow always staying on (Syu) are just completely normal situations with normal explanations are REALLY funny to me—and about some of the other supernatural events that pop up, but I’d also need to read a couple other events + y3 first I think.)
