Tbh in cannon that " Dw Ivy I'll stay in the den for you <3 " always rang as a blatant attempt at getting Ivy to have kits with him.

I Hc that because Ivy never really wanted the kits and Fern was never going to actually step up as a father beyond claiming them as his, the kits just kinda... never knew their parents? Ivy was always out and only really stopped to feed them, and Fern was sweet to them, but always made excuses on why he couldn't stick around to play or nap.

And I imagine Ivy would get more flack from the clan than Fern bc " Oh silly Ivypool! You know men don't do that stuff! But it's in your nature to care for them! Don't you love them? " and Ivy realizes that no. She doesn't love her kits, at all.

Idk, I feel like Ivy never really fit in with clan structure to begin with and after the df thing she tries to mold herself into a better ( more forgivable ) warrior, which meant taking and mate and having kits ( conforming to expectations )

Idk, just an interesting thought.

SO THIS IS ONLY KIND OF TANGENTIALLY RELATED I GUESS it just made me think about sparkpelt's ppd and how she might reach out to ivypool just because ivypool DIDNT spend her kittens' entire kithood in the nursery . but she has a paranoia that she's still "evil" deep down. so she over-corrects not realizing that sparkpelt is attempting to reach out. but that sort of thing is also a kind of defense mechanism to keep anyone from getting too close. i think thats a big reason why her relationship with dovewing never improves too.

Eeeeeeek, your dark Lucifer WIP is so captivating! Lucifer comes across so insanely creepy it makes me want to hide in a remote corner. And then you also said you don't really start off your stories with Alastor and Lucifer not really liking each and then developing feelings over time, and in the context here... I just wonder what that would look like. This dark, creepy version of Lucifer developing a crush on Alastor. I wonder what would be the start of that change. 'Cause Alastor already has this primal, instinctive fear of this version of Lucifer who very much seems to want him dead. At the point when Lucifer starts crushing, I bet there would be a moment where Alastor breathes a sigh of relief because even if he doesn't reciprocate at the very least he can rest assured Lucifer doesn't want to pop him like a grape any more, right? Only it's his momentary peace that gets popped because Lucifer's weird creepy unsettling behavior doesn't stop and can you tell I'm rolling around on my bed kicking my feet like a schoolgirl yet?

I'm glad people are finding dark!Lucifer as captivating as I do ^.^

God, there are so many things I want to get into with this AU, but I'm stuck between not wanting to spoil anything for when I DO write it, but really wanting to talk about it because it's been on my brain for sooooo long and I want it out T.T

I guess, one thing I can say is that you're right about Alastor being able to sigh in relief when Lucifer develops feelings, because it gives him reassurance that he won't get snapped out of existence. Although, Charlie would be sad if Alastor got snapped out of existence, so he also had that going for him.

When I get around to properly writing this, I'm very excited to get into Lucifer's creepy side. I adore writing thrillers and suspense, and I've been wanting to read a Hazbin thriller fic sooo much.

hi copper!!! this is a fantastic question!

so obviously typical irl rats have far shorter lifespans than the average irl tortoise. according to google (yes, be awed by my spectacularly in-depth wealth of research) the average pet rat lives between 2-4 years ish, and the oldest on record lived to be about 7. meanwhile, an African spurred tortoise (Splinter's species) averages more around a 50ish year lifespan in captivity, tho is suspected to possibly exceed 75 or more in the wild.

Now, the mutation does give us a lot of wiggle room for playing with these numbers. For the rat sons boys, id say their natural lifespan probably clocks in at about 45-55 years old? definitely not old by human standards, but not young young either. (though, its also important to note that the boys were exposed to the mutagen just days after being born.)

For Splinter, meanwhile, aging is slightly more complicated. He lived the vast majority of his life as a regular normal African spurred tortoise (well, non-mutated at least. there were perhaps some shenanigans of a more mystical variety going on before he was mutated, but thats a separate matter) He was about 70ish i think? when the boys were born and they were all exposed to the mutagen. so he is already distinctly an old man turtle papa. id guess he'd probably still have another eh lets say 25-30 years after his mutation. he could probably push it a little farther even with some mystic nonsense, but when push comes to shove id say his 'natural' post-mutation lifespan would put his death like a solid decade or two before his sons.

of course, the tricky part of the matter is that theres no way for Splinter to know any of this. theres no way for him to know how the mutation affected them all, or if it even affected them all in the same way. especially since the boys dont show many physical signs of mutation for the first few years, and just kinda look like normal rats, (albeit with a more human sort of intelligence) — what sort of health standard do you hold them to? what if they simply dont show external signs of sickness or old age anymore? how do you actually know if something is wrong?

for a while there Splinter is very worried that one of his babies will just essentially reach the end of their normal rat lifespan, fall and not get up again.

so mostly, he just tries to live in the moment, enjoying whatever time he does have with his little ones, taking each day as a gift <3

Wolf!Tomura being allowed basic freedom for once and immediately getting into body mods, so he appears at bunny!Dabis shop (a very pretty and very modded bunny), and gets his ears pierced, and then he gets a tattoo, and them he realises that he has a crush on the cute bunny so he gets some more piercings and tattoos to get to know the other more (Dabi also has a massive crush, he is just ignoring it cause of self-worth issues) and then he decideds to get a dick piercing, cause he knows Dabi likes them in partners of the past, and Tomura wants him to enjoy himself so much when they finally finally fuck (Also he gets off a little on the pain)

Dabi was willing to ride the man right there on the table when he saw the size of Tomura's cock, but he had to be professional through the entire process, he somehow succeeded and then goes home to try and find a toy that will match the size of the dick he just saw.

They end up fucking once the dick piercing is healed, Tomura was the last appointment of the day and Dabi came to work prepared, streached out and lubed up. They also manage to get themselves into a functional relationship afterwards.

HOT! Oh, I love the idea of Wolf!Tomura being just so down bad for the cute bunny that he keeps getting tattoos and piercings. But I've got to inject some of my favorite wolf/bunny treats too:

Tomura is, supposedly, just the son of a major CEO. In actuality, of course, he's gearing up to take over the criminal underground in Japan. Dabi is the self-exiled son of a police chief, whose cadet brother has recently gotten in contact with him because there have been some strange bodies turning up that seem to be from illegal farming, and a few of them have tattoos Shoto was hoping he might be able to look at and help identify the artists so the police can get a better chance as tracking down the names of the victims from what's left of the skin.

Tomura is having his rebellious phase, Dabi is being obstinate, and they don't exactly hit it off, but the attraction is immediate. Tomura starts getting the tattoos and piercings but always seems to heal more quickly than Dabi expects. Shoto keeps him looped in on the case, and he finds out the victims had traces of an experimental drug in their system that makes them heal much faster so that they could be butchered more than once. Dabi puts two and two together and still wants to get railed by the wolf who might eat him alive, more than once, if he really is the mastermind behind that organization. And after Tomura gets his dick piercings, Dabi tells him that his heat is going to start in a few days, but he'll want to see him for a follow-up appointment before then.

It's an invitation, and Tomura comes back, fully healed, in three days' time and absolutely ruins his cute bunny's hole. Dabi has his confirmation about who owns the farm that his brother is investigating then, but that dick (and he supposes the wolf it's attached to) is too good to give up now, and he turns a blind eye as he starts to work on the next piece the other man wants: a full sleeve with a wolf chasing a rabbit through whirls of smoke and fog, a red string leashing them together.

I’m probably going to hell for this request but the milgram prisoners visiting Texas and having a bunch of shocks at that shit that happens down here.

Ooh what a fun idea!! (Now, I think you’d be more of the expert on if they were to stay for longer periods of time, so I’ll uno reverse the question back to you, but) I do have some headcanons of what they’d get up to if visiting in general :D I'll leave the "shocking" things to you haha

Kotoko loves the new nature and landmarks around them, and finds a lot of outdoorsy activities and natural parks to visit. The others can’t always keep up with her, but they’re also enjoying the climate. Muu and Haruka love soaking up the sun, and Yuno and Kazui love seeing the new wildlife around – everything from big cows and things to those little lizards that are chilling everywhere.

While they all would love/be surprised with some of the food, Fuuta and Mahiru enjoy it the most. Fuuta makes it his mission to find The Most Texan dishes he can try, and Mahiru commits as many as she can to memory so she can cook them on her own someday in case her husband likes them. She also tries to combine it with some traditional Japanese dishes, which I don’t think ends well… 😅 Muu strikes me as a bit of a picky eater but she finds one thing she enjoys and gets incredibly attached to it. 

Shidou, Es, and Amane would be interested in the cultural and historical sites. They want to hit all the major museums and educational spots, being sure to jump into tours and ask questions no matter how much the others tease them for being touristy. 

Even if they’re not one of the areas of the state that goes big on it, Mikoto and Yuno would get really into the cowboy theme and try to dress/act the part. They’d bring everyone along to rodeos and shows, taking everything in with awe. Fuuta complains they’re embarrassing themselves with the stereotypes, but secretly, he desperately wants to get a cowboy hat for himself. They try horseback riding – Es is the very best at it, Haruka the worst, but they all have a good time.

I don’t want to stereotype the music, however, for the fun of it I think all the prisoners learn to sing country :D (Country remixes of the prisoner songs when??) Mahiru forces everyone to line dance, with as mixed success as horse riding.

There’d definitely be some culture shock socializing with the people there, but the whole cast would really enjoy it. The atmosphere would encourage Haruka out of his shell a bit more, convince Mikoto to slow down and relax a bit, and earn the already outgoing prisoners like Mahiru a huge social group...
