Dear lord, there are soo many bugs in the original Myrk Mire Demo O_O

How the heck did this thing run half the time?

I'm getting there, but wow, I did not expect this level of required maintenance.

By the by, I've gone and updated pretty much all the names for characters to reflect those in One Hærfest Day, thought it'd be easier for any brand-new folks who might stumble across the old demo.

DashingDon

As most of you are probably aware, DashingDon will be closing at the end of this month. Although the news didn't surprise me (there was writing on the wall), I was still shaken by its finality.

I've been in this IF niche for a long time. I remember when authors used to share via Dropbox and the panic that spread when they changed their security settings — DashingDon swept in and saved the day. The site has connected authors and readers for a decade and was the central pillar necessary for the IF explosion.

I don't know if I ever would have tried my hand at the Rose if DashingDon didn't exist. It feels like the end of an era. I want to thank Don for everything he's done. For all the time, work, and capital he's sacrificed for the website. He connected, hosted, and helped so many people; I am so lucky to count myself among them.

I haven't used cogdemos.ink yet, but I know that the person managing it is very active and doing their best to make the site as user-friendly, safe, and intuitive as they can. I have complete faith it'll be — and may very well already be — a worthy successor to DashingDon. ♡

Thank you to all who warned me of its closing! My files are safe in 3 different places, so no worries, I won't lose anything, but it's still heartwarming that you cared.🌹

hi! thanks for putting up the old myrk mire demo, it's a comfort :)

not a game-breaking bug report by any means, but thought you should be aware it seems m and nb M did not survive the name update, their names in game have been set to Mm and Mn respectively. unless this was on purpose, then please ignore me 🫢

Yep, that's a bug...

Oh well, it would have been too good to be true if no bugs had made it through.

This might been ask before but I don't remember. With the direwolf and the other ones that we might get. Will we be able to name them? Also choose the gender or are those set?

It will still be possible, you will be able to choose the names and genres of the creatures you link to, don't worry
