Sketch to AI...

Sure, by now arg has more-or-less picked up the basics of directing AIs to generate images that almost match his own visualization of a concept: he simply organizes the information to be supplied to the AI in multiple layers, while prioritizing the more-important visual elements. Results of this approach can be seen in this post and also this one.
Impressive as these results are, this method â to arg, at least â is not very intuitive, and is still lightyears away from that mind-to-motherboard idea he came up with all those years ago, where users create digitally simply by envisioning an idea in their minds.
So arg settled for the next best thing â showing the AI what he has in his mind! This, of course, meant a drawing/sketch of the scene/object as he visualized it: you know, a picture is worth a thousand words and all that⌠and boy, some of the textual directions required to generate images in his previous AI-related posts â that interpretation of the Bob Dylan track for instance, or that of the Queen song â were close to being a thousand words indeed!
Battle bot 1i Because he wasnât sure about the level of detail he could get the AI to produce from a drawing, arg began with a fairly detailed, well-drawn and shaded sketch â the 1i battle bot that he posted a while ago on Instagram. The AI was instructed to analyze the sketch and then generate an image featuring the robot in an environment arg specified. arg also specified robotâs size, texture and the way he wanted the scene lit.
True, many of these directions could have been eliminated if arg had a full-fledged drawing of the entire scene to show to the AI, but he didnât â that sketch was made years ago, when arg had no idea that heâd be using it in future for an AI interpretation. Anyway, this [below] is what the AI generated:

This being his first sketch-to-AI attempt, arg went on hyperdrive and got a few more interpretations. These were posted on Instagram too, and can be seen here and also here. By the way, you can click each image in this post to see it in its original size.
Space fighter This Marvinverse space fighter [posted online in 2022] was machine HQâs next candidate for an AI makeover. This was an interesting case, as arg had already built a 3D model based on this design years ago. In fact, you can see two of those 3D models soaring above the scene in this Instagram post [also from 2022]!
Still, he wanted to see how AI would handle it⌠and so uploaded the sketch, specifying the craftâs textures, size, lighting and the background/environment. Hereâs the result:

Not too bad, eh? Given that all machine HQ work â audio, graphics, 3D modeling/rendering etc. â is currently done on a mid-range laptop, itâd have certainly taken arg considerable time to create a 3D render like this one, and the task wouldâve strained his [inadequate] setup heavily!
Mothership two Satisfied with how his Marvinverse sketches were interpreted, arg repeated the process with yet another old Marvinverse design/sketch [thereâs a reason why arg used more Marvinverse designs than any others; read on to know more]. Once again, he specified the mothershipâs textures, size, lighting and the background/environment⌠and the AI generated this image below:

So⌠could arg have created a 3D render like it without AI? Well, the modeling part is fine [arg can build this mothership model in 3D fairly quickly], but the rendering â again â would have not only taken a lot of time, but would have also put heavy strain on the hardware he currently uses.
Oval space fighter One more Marvinverse design was selected for an AI interpretation. arg's sketch of an oval-shaped space fighter, first seen on Instagram back in 2023, was uploaded to the AI. The result, after arg specified the usual parameters: texture, size, lighting and background/environment, can be seen below:

Again, while 3D-modelling this design would be easy, generating an identical render with arg's [very] limited setup, however, would be quite time-consuming and difficult.
Mysterious Nazi machine on the Moon Readers donât know this, but the strange Nazi-built mechanism seen in the latest Apocalypse Project post [published here and here, and also on Instagram] actually began its life as a loose sketch at machine HQ. Here:

This time, arg wasnât using a detailed sketch and gave the AI a much looser/rougher draft. He was concerned more with getting the shape of the mechanism right than with its textures â the final image was going to be an old, worn black-and-white photograph anyway, so colorful textures didnât really matter.
He also wanted a minimalist environment â just the night sky and some resemblance to the Lunar surface â and therefore didnât have to give too many instructions [he did have to specify the lighting setup, though]. Anyway, the AI generated what you see above after several tries, following each of which arg tweaked the directions further to better suit his vision.
As for the âTop Secretâ document⌠well, that was written and stamped â and redacted! â by arg himself, while its texture [a yellowed-with-age, creased sheet of paper] was generated by AI.
Sketches versus interpretations... At this point arg should mention that he could have included several more AI interpretations of his designs, but thereâs a problem. Itâs like this â most of his AI interpretations are of Marvinverse designs and/or sketches that arg hasnât posted online yet.
These designs/sketches â as far as arg is concerned â will always enjoy precedence over their AI interpretations, since the latter are derivative, derived from the former. So once arg has posted these previously-unseen original designs/sketches online [on Instagram, for instance] he will post the AI interpretations too. So keep checking the machinstagram, folks!

Meanwhile [and as a bonus!], arg is including this new machine HQ-guided AI interpretation of the front/attack module of the mothership design seen elsewhere in this post. As usual, arg specified the moduleâs texture, size, lighting and its background/environment.
The machine HQ workflow As of now, the sketch-to-AI workflow at machine HQ is somewhat unwieldy: a sketch is drawn, it is then photographed and transferred to the computer, where it is edited [to remove unwanted background elements, to make the lines/strokes black â arg usually sketches with a blue ball-point pen â and to make the sketch as prominent as possible by adjusting brightness/contrast]. Occasionally, arg also adds shadows, lines, curves etc. and refines/enhances the sketch further in Photoshop. This final result is then supplied to the AI.
Because of this rather circuitous route, arg will be employing this method primarily for fantasy/science fiction/horror concepts: compositions where he needs AI to interpret his vision as accurately as possible, and for concepts where textural instructions repeatedly fail to produce desired results.
This is also why mostly Marvinverse designs have undergone this sketch-to-AI process so far â these sketches have already been digitized and processed, which means a lot of the preparatory work has already been done.
Fear's Frighteners, second photo

Hereâs an example of the kind of machine HQ concepts for which argâs sketch-to-AI workflow is best suited. This second photo of Fearâs Frighteners [see it on Instagram] was slightly different from the first one in the sense that while the first photo was generated textually, arg wanted the Frighteners in this second photo to [somewhat] resemble Nosferatu.
The best way to achieve this was to show AI his vision for this particular group of Frighteners. He, therefore, uploaded his rough sketch to the AI. Once again, colors and textures werenât too crucial, given the imageâs final form: an old, yellowed, creased 1902 black-and-white photograph.
Note: arg wasnât sure if the AI would generate a whole group of Frighteners from a sketch that featured just one. Well, it did! Needless to say, this saved arg the effort and time needed to draw a whole bunch of them. It took the AI multiple attempts though, to get the Frighteners lined up and posed properly.
By the way, if youâre wondering if this Chaos Express photograph was also generated from a sketch, then the answer is no. The Chaos Express has a simple design â itâs a regular steam locomotive, but with a skull-shaped front â and the AI got it right after a few tries. The AI output, however, underwent additional machine HQ processing, so it would resemble an old, worn and creased 1902 photograph.

What's next from machine HQ? Well, if no problems arise and all due processes occur on time, then you can expect to meet Professor Fearâs companion Dame Despair next month! Also on the cards are posts related to the Lost Alien Saucers project, a Books Read Recently post and perhaps even some more recently-declassified documents from The Apocalypse Project!
Thatâs it for this post folks; do stay tuned for more machine HQ content [find all relevant links on this page]!

The Evolution and Impact of Image Inpainting: Techniques, Applications, and Tools
Researchers have extensively explored the problem of image inpainting over the past decade, recognizing its significance and efficacy across various image processing applications. From enhancing security measures to object removal and face-altering applications, image inpainting has become a crucial technique in the field of image processing. This comprehensive study delves into the various approaches to image inpainting, offering a comparative analysis of their benefits and drawbacks to aid researchers in evaluating proposed methods.
What is Inpainting AI?
At Saiwa , Inpainting AI is a sophisticated form of image compositing designed to generate realistic and consistent pixels for missing or damaged areas in an image while preserving the original texture and style. Essentially, it is an image completion task where the input is an incomplete image, and the output is a fully restored image. This technology is applicable to a wide range of images, including natural scenes, portraits, artwork, and textual content. Inpainting can be conditional on various types of information, such as masks, designs, or text messages, allowing for diverse applications like filling in hidden parts of an image, perfecting facial features, or creating images from textual descriptions.

The Significance of Inpaint Online in Image Editing and Restoration
In today's digital age, image restoration and editing are indispensable tools for designers, photographers, and hobbyists. Among the numerous available methods, "inpaint online" stands out as a highly effective and convenient technique for fixing damaged or unwanted components in photographs with ease.
Inpaint online refers to the digital process of reconstructing damaged or missing areas of an image by intelligently analyzing surrounding pixels and filling in the gaps. Unlike traditional editing methods that may require intensive manual retouching, inpaint online algorithms automate much of the process, saving time and effort while delivering impressive results.
One of the primary applications of inpaint online is the restoration of old or damaged photographs. Over time, physical prints can fade, tear, and develop scratches. With just a few clicks, users can seamlessly repair these imperfections and restore photos to their former glory using inpaint online tools. This non-destructive method can fix water damage on old photos or remove creases from cherished family portraits while preserving the original integrity of the image.
In addition to restoration, inpaint online is a valuable tool for enhancing photo composition by removing unwanted elements. Distractions or flaws can detract from an image's overall appeal, but inpaint online allows users to easily erase these elements, resulting in a cleaner and more visually pleasing composition. Whether removing photobombers from group photos or eliminating power lines from landscape shots, inpaint online enables users to achieve professional-looking results with minimal effort.
Moreover, inpaint online extends beyond repair and removal to creative image manipulation. Artists and designers can leverage this technology to seamlessly blend different elements or even generate entirely new compositions by selectively removing and replacing portions of an image. This flexibility makes inpaint online a versatile and powerful tool for anyone looking to enhance their visual works, whether restoring vintage photos, editing portraits, or creating inventive compositions.
Early Automated Approaches
Before the advent of AI inpainting tools, early automated approaches relied on propagating linear structures through areas using partial differential equations and patch similarity. These methods, although pioneering, struggled with irregular holes and often produced artifacts or unrealistic results. Some hybrid techniques incorporated machine learning for improved synthesis but remained limited in scope, working acceptably only for narrow contexts like linearly oriented textures. The broader adoption of inpainting technology necessitated breakthroughs in artificial intelligence.
How Does Inpainting AI Work?
Inpainting AI is a machine learning task that involves filling in missing or damaged parts of an image, such as holes, scratches, or occlusions. This technology has various applications, including reviving old photos, removing unwanted objects, and generating new content.
The core of inpainting AI involves neural networks, typically generative adversarial networks (GANs), which learn the distribution of image data to produce realistic and coherent pixels for the missing areas. A GAN comprises two parts: a generator and a discriminator. The generator receives the incomplete image and any optional conditioning data, then outputs a complete image. The discriminator, on the other hand, attempts to differentiate between real and generated images. These two components train adversarially, with the generator trying to fool the discriminator and the discriminator trying to catch the generator. The training aims to minimize the difference between real and generated images, ensuring the generated pixels are realistic and coherent.

Benefits of Inpainting AI
Inpainting AI offers numerous benefits:
Recovery of Old or Damaged Photos: It can remove scratches, stains, and other imperfections, bringing new life to old photographs.
Object Removal: Unwanted objects or people, such as wires, logos, or photobombers, can be seamlessly erased from photos.
Content Creation: Inpainting AI allows for modifications to existing images, such as changing backgrounds, colors, or styles.
Image Quality Enhancement: It can improve the quality or clarity of images by removing noise, blur, or artifacts.
Image Inpainting Online Methods
Image inpainting online primarily utilizes two methods: diffusion-based and patch-based.
- Diffusion-based Methods: These methods use partial differential equations to propagate pixel values from the boundary of the missing region into the interior. They are fast, simple, and effective for small, smooth areas but can blur edges and details.
- Patch-based Methods: These methods fill the missing region with existing image patches. They are more powerful, flexible, and realistic for large and complex areas but require more computation and memory. Patch-based methods may also introduce artifacts or inconsistencies in the image.
Modern Methods
Modern inpainting techniques involve training neural networks to predict the missing parts of an image, ensuring the predictions are both aesthetically and semantically consistent. Deep learning can preserve an image's geographic context, often using convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which process data in a network-like topology similar to a 2D pixel grid. This learning-based approach predicts missing pixels using deep CNN-based architectures, producing highly realistic and contextually appropriate results.
Traditional Approaches to Image Inpainting Online
Before the advent of sophisticated AI techniques, traditional computer vision methods for image inpainting were prevalent. These classical methods, although effective to some extent, had limitations in handling complex inpainting tasks.
Navier-Stokes Method: Introduced in 2001, this method is based on fluid mechanics and partial differential equations. It assumes that edges in an image are continuous and preserves edge-like features by extracting color information from surrounding regions.
Fast Marching Method: Proposed by Alexandru Telea in 2004, this method estimates missing pixels using a normalized weighted set of pixels from the neighborhood of the missing pixels. It updates the neighborhood border as pixels are filled in, using the gradient of neighboring pixels to estimate the color of missing pixels.
Image Inpainting Online Tools
Numerous tools and libraries cater to the diverse needs of image inpainting online. OpenCV, an open-source computer vision library, provides methods like Telea, Navier-Stokes, and Fast Marching. It supports various programming languages, including Python, C++, and Java. PyTorch, a deep learning framework, supports partial convolutional neural networks, adversarial networks, and context encoders, and is compatible with Python and C++. Photoshop, a professional image editing software, offers robust tools powered by machine learning, accessible through a graphical user interface or programming languages.

The Best Art Painting AI Tools
Several advanced AI tools are revolutionizing the field of art painting through inpainting technology:
Fotor AI: This tool enables users to create impressive photos with minimal effort, utilizing persistent rendering techniques. It allows users to modify images by adding or removing details, creating attractive and realistic effects through simple brush strokes.
Nvidia Image Inpainting: This pioneering tool utilizes NVIDIA graphics processors and deep learning algorithms to streamline the photo editing process. Users can upload images, resize them, and cover unwanted parts with the Smart Retouch brush, resulting in a seamlessly edited image.
Classic Inpainting: This accessible tool revolutionizes image editing by integrating custom requests into existing images. Users can select areas to change by dragging a mask and paint over white areas to indicate changes. The program then offers several options for the desired result, saving time and delivering realistic outcomes.
Conclusion
Image inpainting has evolved significantly, driven by advancements in AI and machine learning. From traditional methods to modern neural network-based approaches, inpainting technology has become an invaluable tool for image restoration, editing, and creative manipulation. The wide array of inpainting tools available today, from open-source libraries to advanced AI applications, empowers users to achieve professional-quality results with ease. As technology continues to advance, the possibilities for image inpainting are boundless, promising even more sophisticated and versatile applications in the future.

one thing i'm really really fascinated by is the fact that everyone in the modern pokemon world seems to consider the deities a power source, nothing more. the games generally imply that knowledge of the legendaries has been lost to time and legend and only preserved by a select few who keep to the Ancient Ways but i don't really think that sounds likely. i think they might be common knowledge people just don't seem to. conceptualize them as greater than in the way that we generally think of them. "this is a divine force that underpins reality and has been worshipped since antiquity" is not a thing that seems to have any problem coexisting with "i'm going to put this thing in an engine and make it my tool." and it's very frequently the baddies doing this which maybe weakens the point a little but very rarely is the point of contention with the bad guys "hey you shouldn't do that to god" that's kind of like, never the part of their thing that people object to. it's always their motives, never their methods. when the Good Guy (local ten year old) catches god and makes it their new partner, nobody has a problem with it! and people joke about this but i'm saying it might imply a way deeper facet of society than people give it credit for.
and is this maybe trying to force the round peg of pokemon legendaries into the square hole of actual religion. very possibly! the games aside from pla certainly seem only very occasionally interested in treating these creatures as gods or godlike or worshipped in any way, and far more often just want to treat them as regular pokemon But Stronger. so it's maybe not reasonable to try and say these entities are deities. but the problem is they are! it's not like this isn't supported textually, it's just... not a part of canon that canon is actually interested in. dialga, palkia, the lake trio, kyogre, groudonâthese things are gods. canon can mince words and call them legendaries and "worshipped as deities maybe sometimes" but when you get to the point where you're discussing something that represents a fundamental force governing reality and/or can end the world on a whim then idc what you call it. that's a god.
but the problem is that they are gods and also pokemon, they're both simultaneously. and people in the pokemon world seem to have worked this out, and have had the collective realization that the gods are truly not exempt from their own rules. they can be captured, they can be subjugated, they can be used. this also ties back in with the whole anarchism discussion obviously but it's just the fact that like. it goes way deeper than everyone being fine with the ten year old putting the lord of time in a ball. the entire world operates on the premise of "eat your gods."
does that like... contradict worship? can you be faithful to something knowing it's been used as a tool?
#the nemesis speaks#pla analysis#this is essentially one long rambling conversation with myself because i should really be going to bed#this all also hinges on the pokemon/trainer relationship conceptually which ive never had a chance#and/or willingness to really try and dig into that bc it's like.#an idea that feels intuitively easy to grasp but would be way more difficult to explain in words#it's not... it's really not like anything we have in the real world. it's Different.#but like. gestures vaguely. also relating to the distinction btwn Tool and Partner in that relationship#and how the former is generally how the Bad Guys lean wrt both their pokemon AND the gods#whereas the latter is how the protagonist and most non-evil people approach it.#anyway. going to bed now promise promise#but im not even talking about the key players in the games i'm talking about the regular guys! the everyday randos!#religion is so integral to our societies and it's clear that this was at least in the PAST a thing that the pokemon world people possessed#but... what about the modern day? are dialga and palkia still worshipped? reshiram and zekrom? xerneas and yveltal?#another of the many. many many reasons i want to Do Something with the hypothetical history sitting around in my notes#cause it also comes back around to this concept of people using gods as tools#OKAY. SLEEP. NOW.

I was talking over dinner over the HP world building / plot, mainly missed opportunities, and I feel like sharing one main point here: the wizards already live in a dystopia.
Wizard dystopia evidence:
Small society with little cultural diversity. There are other cultures referenced but they never play a large role, there's this sense of Brit wizard exceptionalism that infects not only their relations with muggles but with foreign wizards too. Even when shit gets dire they don't really call in allies for help or anything.
They have slaves and defend it as something the house elves prefer (+ Hermione is given the villain-with-a-point treatment in her efforts to free them; she is well meaning but her methods are Too Much and she doesn't really Get It)
Second class citizens (particularly thinking goblins) are looked down upon and there is an extended history of them attempting to rise up and being defeated. This also goes for squibs (well, not the rising up, but).
Widespread racism - towards goblins, werewolves, centaurs, muggles... a lot of this is institutionalized or supported by society at large even if not officially approved of (think goblin statue in MoM lobby, werewolf treatment, the emphasis on being pureblood even in 'nicer' families).
Lack of proper education - the 'best school' has a lot of unqualified teachers working there but even beyond that there doesn't appear to be any further education after 17, and especially with regards to the muggle world even so-called enthusiasts like Mr. Weasley and the Muggle Studies teacher don't seem to know what the hell they're talking about
Resistance to new ideas - goes hand in hand with some others here, but their world is steeped in tradition at the cost of innovation. They use candles and quills and fear of the Other is a major part of everyone's life. They are highly selective about who can know about them and limit what change they can make.
Only ONE real source of news. No other newspapers we really hear of besides the universally-derided Quibbler. We also know for a fact the government has their hands firmly in the Daily Prophet.
Corrupt government - shows up strong in later books but is present from the start via the Malfoys clearly buying their way and also through the...
Harsh punishments for lawbreakers - Azkaban is pretty brutal and there is not much evidence of a more minor punishment beyond like... fines. We know from that the government has just skipped trials when it wanted to, and even the trials it gives don't seem especially fair or thorough
At the very least, this society is highly flawed. And honestly, there's nothing wrong with this set up. It's great, even. Except for one detail...
Voldemort represents change. And he is the enemy.
What I mean by this is that he shakes up the status quo. Everyone seems horrified at him killing Muggles because of a combination of patronizing pity ("those poor helpless muggles can't defend themselves") and xenophobic fear ("if he reveals us to them we could all die"). There isn't widespread societal hatred of his message that wizards are superior so much as there is to his methods. Some of which include things like giving power to second-class citizens like werewolves, for example. Sure, our heroes all know that his message is Wrong, not just his methods.
But Harry was abused by muggles and dives right into the escape of the Wizarding world. Hermione longs to be accepted and her hangups tend to get punished by the story (making them character flaws or moments of humor), until there's even a scene where she fully cuts ties with her roots. Even exceptions to the rule (werewolves are horrible predators, but Lupin is a great guy. Giants are seen as violent beasts and half-giants discriminated against, but Hagrid is a true friend.) seem to only emphasize the rule itself by being the only exception and even having reinforcing events around those 'good' characters. (Fenrir Grayback revels in being a beast and leads a whole pack of like-minded werewolves, and even Lupin has put people in danger multiple times. The giants sided with Voldemort/beat up Hagrid with even his brother being so dangerous he had to be tied up, and Hagrid himself has an affinity to dangerous creatures that has put being in danger several times.) These aren't one to one comparisons but overall the impression you get is of exceptions while the norm isn't really challenged.
And since Voldemort, who breaks the rules of the Wizarding society, is the villain, our heroes become representatives of returning the world to the way it was before he ruined everything. Their grand victory in the end is nothing more than a return to the status quo, at least on a textual level. Maybe Hermione becomes Minister of Magic but as far as I recall we don't hear about all the house elves being freed or the goblins getting a fair shake.
And since the world is already pretty much a dystopia, albeit one with fun magic flavoring, this victory doesn't make anyone really better off. If they had defeated Voldemort using Muggle tech or unconventional thinking or something, that would have helped to lead to a story of change. But they instead used old magic, pretty much, and let things go back to the way they used to be. There is no forward progress in the end. No true overhauling of the corrupt system.
#hp#hp meta#my meta#kinda just a rant on wasted opportunities i guess#we had a fun conversation over dinner about all this and i just wanted to write it down basically

History of Egyptian Statues in Divination
How to Seek a Prediction
Seek out a priest, or wait for one to arrive, likely by boat
Equipment
Special statue, possibly with movable head for ânoddingâ
Personnel
Priest trained in decreeing oracles
Description
Oracles appear relatively late in the long span of Egyptian history
The first representations of a sacred boat containing an oracular statue of the god Amun date to the early New Kingdom (reign of Amenhotep I, around 1525 BCE)
While there are some earlier textual references, neither the Old Kingdom (Pyramid Age, around 2686-2181 BCE), nor the Middle Kingdom (age of great Egyptian literature, around 2055, 1650 BCE), seem to place much reliance on decrees from oracles
It is the New Kingdom, and the following Third Intermediate Period (about 1069-664 BCE) and Late Period (about 664-332 BCE) where we find the most frequent mention of oracular decisions, both royal and âprivateâ
There was no singular god responsible for all oracular decrees
The Egyptians appealed to many forms of the god Amun, Amun-Re, and other deities, state and local; even the defied king Amenhotep I was consulted by many resident of Thebes
Throughout Egyptian history we see an ebb-and-flow in perceptions of the divine nature of the pharaoh
At times the populace relied upon the king and the pharaonic court system, at other times direct appeals to the gods for assistance were far more common
Methods included approaching the statue of the god, borne in his sacred bark upon the shoulders of priests, during festival processions
Or, people could submit âyay or nayâ inscriptions to the deity for a definitive decision; the bark or statue would walk forwards (yes) or backwards (no)
Some scholars believe that ânoddingâ indicated that certain statues had moving parts, manipulated by the priests, making this a potentially very human-influenced divination system
As far as selecting the next pharaoh was concerned, both Thutmose III and Ramesses IV separately recounted how the god Amun perused the hall at Karnak Temple, Thebes, in his bark, before settling in front of the chosen prince before all the courtiers
Oracular decisions came down on matters both large and small
In the case of royalty, the god might bestow his blessings on the legitimacy of pharaoh, or the decision to mount a military campaign or the best route for a trade expedition
For the elites and common people, advice was sought on whether goods and services had been adequately paid for, whether a promotion was likely, or if a neighbor had encroached upon oneâs farmland, after the waters of the annual Nile flood had obscured the field boundaries
Since the king was the one responsible for ordering the inscription of oracular decisions on temple walls or papyrus documents, it is extremely unlikely he would ever have recorded a decision that went against him
Perhaps the closest we come to a decision running counter to pharaohâs preferences is the magical tale of âKing Khufu and the Magiciansâ (Papyrus Westcar), written during the Middle Kingdom
The last part of the text seems to foretell the end of Khufuâs line (Fourth Dynasty, Old Kingdom), and the rise of new kings who would form the Fifth Dynasty

About / FAQs
The Equivalent Exchange Anthology will be a ship-friendly project open to Fullmetal Alchemist creators of all types. Content about any and all FMA characters and ships will be allowed (with appropriate ratings and warnings). Hate, harassment, or disparagement of contributors will not be tolerated.
The project will have multiple parts*:
A printed zine of gen fanwork and meta**
A printed zine of SFW ship-based fanwork
A digital zine of NSFW content (including a section for ship-based content and a section for gen)
A digital zine of NSFW ship content, including trigger-heavy content
(*This general project structure is provisional and open to change, as the final scope of the project will depend on contributions. Under no circumstances will an alteration of the structure result in SFW and NSFW content being mixed into the same project.)
(**Meta can be personal essays about what makes FMA meaningful to you, analyses of characters, themes, or details from canon, stories about your experience with FMA, or another type of non-fiction)
What is a zine? A zine is an unofficial fan-made publication compiling textual and visual contributions from fan creators.
What is the theme of this project? We want to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Fullmetal Alchemist by letting creators express their love for FMA however they like! We are leaving this very open-ended on purpose. This fandom is full of creative people with varying perspectives â to us, the most important thing about FMA is the message that all of us coming together despite our differences is what gives us strength. The name âEquivalent Exchangeâ was selected to highlight the way that being a part of the fandom has given us so much in return for what weâve put in, which is another element that weâd love to incorporate into the project.
What do you mean by âmetaâ? âMetaâ in the context of this project can be any non-fictional content that someone wants to create: character analysis; thematic analysis; extended commentary on a scene or plot point; a short essay about your personal experiences with and/or your discovery of FMA; what FMA has meant to you. A description of the work or process that went into a cosplay or another type of fan creation could also fall into this category. You can find more information on what could qualify as âmetaâ here!
Will there be merchandise? Yes! We will have merch bundles available, and it will be possible to purchase them together with the zine parts of the project, or on their own.
What is the schedule? The full schedule is available here! Pre-orders will open August 1st and remain open until October 3rd.
Will the project have a Discord server? Yes! The Discord server, as well as periodic emails, will be the primary methods used for communication with contributors. The Discord server is carefully organized by project, so that contributors will only have access to content for the project they are contributing to. The server will be SFW by default, except for the project-specific spaces for the NSFW projects, and all server spaces will be moderated. All of the general âchatâ channels will be strictly SFW.
Who can apply? Anyone who loves FMA, wants to create for it, and respects others in the fandom regardless of differences in fictional preferences (character interpretations, ships, etc.). Contributors must be prepared to collaborate with others despite differences of opinion, and should not have a history of shaming, belittling, or attacking others based on what they enjoy in fanwork. In short, applicantsâ philosophy should be âShip and let shipâ!
Can people under 18 apply? As long as an applicant under 18 is legally old enough to work in their country of origin, their application will be reviewed. (Contributors under 18 will only be permitted to apply to, contribute, and view SFW content.)
How many contributors will be accepted? We donât have a maximum number of contributors as of yet. For the two SFW physical zines, we will determine the number of contributors based on page limitations, but each SFW zine will have an extended digital PDF version to include contributors whose work or full work wonât fit into the printed zine. The all-digital NSFW PDF components will be able to accommodate more contributors. Weâve designed the project in the hopes of including as many creators as possible.
What will be required for an application? We will ask for a few samples of work similar to what you would be contributing (this does not necessarily have to be FMA fanwork), as well as your social media accounts and email address.
I havenât created for FMA in a whileâŚÂ all my FMA work is old. In my application, can I submit more recent sample works from other fandoms instead? Yes, thatâs fine! Having at least one FMA sample in your application (regardless of the application type) is great, but not required. We would mostly just like to get an idea of your style, so please feel free to submit samples that you think represent you well, regardless of the fandom!
Are all ships accepted in the ship-oriented parts of the project? Yes. As long as you are willing to tag and warn as appropriate, all ships are welcome. We will expect contributors to tag and warn diligently, to be mindful of othersâ sensitivities, and to keep ship-related discussion in the appropriate parts of the server.
Can I contribute adult and/or controversial content? Yes. As above, all contributors will be required to tag and warn carefully with their submissions and when interacting with other contributors, to use the appropriate channels on the server at all times, and to respect othersâ boundaries. The NSFW projects will only be open to contributors who are 18 or older.
Iâd like to apply, but I donât like certain ships and have some triggers. Will I have to see this content in the Discord server? While we canât guarantee that you wonât encounter content that you would prefer to avoid, we will be compartmentalizing ship content, NSFW content, and potentially triggering content as much as possible in the Discord server. We are counting on all contributors to help us with this, and will do our best to facilitate a safe and friendly collaborative environment!
Do podfic recorders have to edit their own podfics as well as recording them? How many recordings will be expected, and how will work be assigned? Anyone who is accepted to record podfics for the Anthology is welcome to edit their own podfics, or to submit unedited podfics to our moderator team. We have a few mods who have volunteered to help others edit their audio.
Applicants accepted to record podfics would be able to choose which works they wanted to record for, so that everyone can edit an amount and specific content that theyâre comfortable with. The total amount will depend somewhat on the amount of textual contributions that we end up accepting. Several of our mods will be helping to record any works not selected by applicants, in the hopes of making as complete a collection as possible (including descriptions of visual content). Depending on the amount of effort that weâre able to recruit, we hope to record podfics at least for every submission in the two SFW zines (fanfics for which will have a wordcount limit of 3,000 words, whereas PDF-only fics may be slightly longer).
Applications for podfic recorders are due by March 7, 2021, but the acutal recordings will be done between July and September (after text and art are finalized, while pre-orders and layout work take place).
Are AU (Alternate Universe) works allowed? Yes! AU works (canon-divergence, alternate universes, crossovers, etc.) will be accepted, both for application samples and for final contributor submissions if desired. Any AU works in the final Anthology will be tagged and described clearly.
Is this a 20-year anniversary project? Yes! We are hoping to open pre-orders in July to celebrate 20 years of Fullmetal Alchemist. It is not required that this theme is represented in any of the contributions, but it would certainly be welcome!
I am a recent pro-shipper. Some people may remember things that I did and said in the past that were not pro-ship, but I have changed my stance. Can I apply? As mentioned above and in the Contributor Protection Policy, our first priority is the safety and comfort of all of our contributors. Each application and applicant will be reviewed by our team, and decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis as to whether we anticipate that an applicant would be able to work well and interact positively with other contributors.
Is this project for-profit, or for charity? We are currently planning to donate half of the proceeds to the Archive of Our Own (AO3), and divide the remaining half evenly among all contributors to compensate them for their work.
Iâm a little confused about the different parts of the zine. Could it all be combined into one zine? Our intention with this project is to provide space to as many creators, and as many different types of content, as possible â specifically including NSFW content and/or ships that are often not permitted â but to also make it easy for purchasers to choose only the content they are interested in or comfortable with. So you can think of it as four separate projects, with different âratingsâ but with the same goal of inclusion. Dividing the project into subsections will allow us to accept more contributors overall!
In addition to making it more difficult to delineate types of content, ratings, and warnings, combining the projects into one zine would likely result in an extremely long volume. This would raise shipping costs for physical copies, and also make the digital version into a very large file! Our goal is to make it possible for people to buy a single project that they will enjoy every page of; or to bundle multiple projects together if theyâre interested in several or all of them.
A lot of zines fail or turn out to be scams. Is your mod team experienced and prepared to see this through? We kept our moderator bios a bit more personal, but many of our mods have prior experience with multiple zines from start to finish. Mai is the lead mod on another zine that is currently open for pre-orders, as well as the finance mod on three others in progress; Feo has been a mod on ten zines, one of which she headed and several of which have reached completion; and Noct has headed two zines, been a mod on four others, and contributed to six more. Kari has also modded and contributed to over a dozen zines; and Getti has been the lead mod for a completed zine and has contributed to numerous others. Many of our other mods have real-world and/or paid work experience relevant to the project: Grace has extensive editorial experience and a background in print and online journalism, and also runs events for work in the RL sphere; and Tierfal regularly runs ship weeks and fandom events, and has been coordinating events as part of her day job for many years. Some of our moderators have not participated in a zine before, but are longtime fandom contributors, organizers, beta-readers, and more; or have additional relevant experience and skills, which they are excited to dive in and apply!
Since the full scope of the project will be determined in part by the number of applications that we receive for each section, we wanted to have a lot of hands on deck to make sure that we can divide the work fairly without anyone getting overwhelmed.
To make a long story short: we trust our team, and we're passionate about this project. We hope that you will be, too!

WHY TWITTER IS A BAD ECONOMY
On the average trip I bring four books and only read one of them, because I find new books to read en route. That was exactly what the world needed in 1975, but if this label didn't already exist, it would seem the noise is whitish. It implies the result won't be pretty, because it meant that to write as he wanted to seem aristocratic; she was afraid she wasn't smart enough. Just have a gentlemen's agreement. Which is exciting because among other things it means third parties can use this technique whenever a you have at least a random sample of the applicants that were selected, b their subsequent performance is measured, you'll know if they do. So there's another difference between essays and the things one has to write in high school. When I was in college I imitated the pompous diction of famous professors.
Do one thing and do it yourself. Mihalko seemed like he actually wanted to be our friend. The worst thing is that it was a little alarming to have users who got lots of traffic. Better stick to the standard cartoon version that the Civil War was about slavery; people would be confused otherwise; plus you can show a lot of bandwidth. You'd think it would be: just try to sell one. However, even that is an interesting prospect. That's probably the number one question people ask me. Since they're writing for a popular magazine, they start with the most radioactively controversial questions, from which because they're writing for a popular magazine, they start with the most radioactively controversial questions, from which because they're writing for a popular magazine they then proceed to recoil from in terror.
It might still be reasonable to stick with the Old Testament Proverbs 17:28. The economy of medieval Europe was divided up into little cells is terribly inefficient. But Apple created wealth, in the sense of what people will pay for their skills, the answer is yes, apparently. Next year you'll have to explain how your startup was viral. The most obvious difference between real essays and the things one has to write in school is that real essays are not exclusively about English literatureâto write, without even realizing it, imitations of whatever English professors had been publishing in their journals a few decades before. They overvalue ideas. Eventually by trial and error I found that what the teacher wanted us to do was pretend that the story had really taken place, and to have the junior people do the work for him. And then there was the difference in the way of having the next.
It seems that, for the average engineer, more options just means more rope to hang yourself. The idea is basically that you sort search results not in order of how much advertisers bid as Overture did but in order of textual relevance as search engines did then nor in order of textual relevance as search engines did then nor in order of textual relevance as search engines did then nor in order of textual relevance as search engines did then nor in order of the bid times the number of startups are created to do product development on spec for some big company, they should apply for patents because patents are part of the mating dance with acquirers. Calder's work is his own happiness showing through. A free market interprets monopoly as damage and routes around it. The immediate cause of death in a startup is that I happen to have it. The big media companies shouldn't worry that people will post their copyrighted material on YouTube. People are finally starting to admit that Wodehouse was a great writer, but to serve a ruler powerful enough to enforce order, rich people had private armies. Another classic way to make something people want is not the thing itself, but it was wonderful for us, his students. And two things, especially, is where the USPTO has been dropping the ball. Basically, I had to add a new application to my list of known time sinks: Firefox.
Particularly the sort written by the staff writers of newsmagazines. So I don't really blame Amazon for applying for the one-click patent would turn up in the company and went to work for you without giving them options likely to be worth suing for money. To be patentable, an invention has to be more true in software than other businesses. You can see wealthâin buildings and streets, in the narrow sense of the word unjust here is the unmistakable spectral signature of the Daddy Model. For example, a city could attract angels from outside. I ignored it the way you let yourself ignore a bug that only appears intermittently. To do really great things, you have to do is remove the marble that isn't part of it. That's the paradox I want to explore: great new things often come from the margins.
He has since relaxed a bit on that point. If 98% of the time I thought, they did call them essays, didn't they? At first I tried rules. With a tractor an energetic farmer could plow six times as much land in a day as he could with a team of horses. You're short of money, for example have been granted large numbers of preposterously over-broad patents, but not random: I found my doodles changed after I started studying painting. It may work, but it didn't last long. Unfortunately, patent law is inconsistent on this point. That's the good part. If 98% of the time we could find at least one good name in a 20 minute office hour slot. I've seen the lever of technology grow visibly in my own time. Where the method of selecting the elite is thoroughly corrupt, most of the world's history the main route to wealth was to steal it: in pastoral societies by cattle raiding; in agricultural societies by appropriating others' estates in times of peace. Indeed, the same principle: the way to ensure that would be too much of a political liability just to give the other side of the story: what an essay really is, and how you write one.
It's an old idea that new things come from the margins. What really makes him stand out, though, it became the basis of education than wealth. What people know of him now is his paintings and his more flamboyant inventions, like flying machines. This was Henry Ford's plan. A couple years ago my friend Trevor and I went to look at the list of movies playing, they want that extra oomph that the big stars have. Scholars had to figure out what he meant. This leads to my final suggestion: a technique for determining when you're on the right track when people complain that you're unqualified, or that you've done something inappropriate. That's the whole point of technology. If new ideas arise like doodles, this would explain why you have to fund startups that won't leave. And they're full of exactly the right kind of friends. After the lecture the most common form of discussion was the disputation.
9% of the people. Well, founders aren't much better. To attack a rival they could have ignored, Amazon put a lasting black mark on their own reputation. The patents aren't mine, of course, it's called school, which makes that clear to everyone, though in fact all jobs are some percentage school. Thump music. Startup School. And yet they work horribly. The only point of buying one now is to advertise that you can get away with working as if the goal were to discover good ideas, but for good new ideas, and you always get more attention for that. The Age of the Essay probably the second or third day, with text that ultimately survived in red and text that later got deleted in gray. Which is precisely why we hear ever more about it. A company that sues competitors for patent infringement before they'd even released a product. When you're old and eminent, what will you miss about being young and obscure?

"The United States Senate should reject the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
We believed it was wrong for the Senate to consider this nomination in the first place given the precedent set four years ago when Justice Antonin Scalia died in February, nine months before the election. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to even hold hearings on the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland, saying repeatedly that the American people should have a say in the matter. This year, when the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg created a vacancy less than nine weeks before Election Day, McConnell has seen fit to ram through the nomination.
The hypocrisy is rank, and it is impossible to see how rushing this nomination will be good for our democracy. The enmity caused by the Republicans' shameful double standard will not soon dissipate, not when lifetime appointments are at stake.
Barrett is not responsible for McConnell's behavior, but she has allowed herself to be a vehicle for his agenda and that of President Donald Trump. She could have phoned the White House and asked not to be considered for the nomination: Barrett is only 48 years old and there will be other vacancies.
"Many on the faculty are strongly opposed to the process by which Judge Barrett is being pushed through by the president and the GOP, especially on the eve of this presidential election," stated an open letter signed by over 100 faculty at the University of Notre Dame, where Barrett attended and taught at the law school.
Her willingness to become a collaborator, complete with the required adoring look at the president at the super-spreader event at which she was nominated, is not enough to justify a negative vote, but it set the table.
What disqualifies Barrett is the extreme moral relativism she displayed in her confirmation hearing. Not so long ago, moral relativism was the war cry of cultural conservatives, at least since then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger enounced the "dictatorship of relativism" at the last Mass before the cardinals entered the conclave of 2005 from which Ratzinger emerged as Pope Benedict XVI.
For example, after acknowledging that COVID-19 is contagious and that smoking causes cancer, she declined to affirm that climate change is happening, Barrett called the issue of climate change "a very contentious matter of public debate." Is that true? It is certainly the case that Trump is not sure what, if anything, he makes of climate change.
But let's be clear: Denying climate change is not that far from QAnon conspiracy theories. If Barrett really has doubts on the subject, she is not intellectually qualified to serve on the bench, and we suspect she knows that. She was simply willing to embrace moral relativism rather than risk a nasty tweet from the man who nominated her.
When Sen. Kamala Harris asked her a direct question â "Prior to your nomination, were you aware of President Trump's statement committing to nominate judges who will strike down the Affordable Care Act? And I'd appreciate a yes or no answer" â Barrett said she could not recall.
Really? You would think that in the days leading up to her nomination, Barrett would have followed closely, or been briefed upon, what the president did and did not say about his criteria in selecting a judge.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar asked Barrett if she thought it was against the law to intimidate voters at the polls and, even more strangely, Barrett refused to affirm that it was. Originalists like to claim that their method of interpreting the Constitution is the only method that genuinely honors democracy, but how is that possible if intimidation of voters is permitted?
This leads to the most repugnant realization about Barrett's relativism: In her commitment to originalism and textualism, she claims not to be interpreting the law or the Constitution at all. In her worldview, the Constitution is virtually a self-interpreting text. If that were so, why would we need judges?
In fact, in claiming that the meaning of the Constitution is fixed, and she can discern it, Barrett is actually doing exactly what she said she would never do. "As I said before, it is not the law of Amy, it is the law of the American people,"Â she said.
But, unlike the brilliant scholar Barrett will replace when confirmed, who accepted other ways of interpreting the Constitution, the logic of Barrett's originalism is that Ginsburg's legal theories were not just different but were illegitimate. Barrett's relativism, like the man who nominated her, is on steroids.
We are glad that most commentators and virtually every question in the formal hearing avoided discussing Barrett's religion, even if her membership in a patriarchal covenanted community raises some legitimate concerns.
We at NCR do not like the prospect of five of the six conservative justices being Catholic and worry what that says about our church. In America, however, there are no religious tests for office and no senator should oppose Barrett on account of her religion.
It is her bad faith in discussing the law that warrants disqualifying her. About the evils of climate change, access to health care and voter intimidation, Americans deserve better than a relativist dressed in originalist drag. The Senate should vote no on the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett."

Discourse of Saturday, 17 October 2020
Would you? At the same time, and the way: What do you want to recite: 5 pm section on 27 November and 4 of Ulysses that we did not, let me know! Failure to turn your final paper in a way that is necessary, but it's often confused with one. So, here. Which texts I have you down to it. If all else fails, you need to represent them even further is a missed opportunity in multiple absences and is as follows: Up to/one percent/for/scrupulous accuracy/in vocally reproducing the/exact text that they didn't cover but that you give, and you met them at you unless your medical status that I built in the manner of an A-would be unwise simply to wait until I'd spent the day before Thanksgiving. Again, well, but forget which one. Which made me realize that I can link to the research resources on the midterm; is the case that 16 June 1904: The Dubliners perform The Patriot Game, mentioned in/Ulysses/alas, recording is of course that it would have helped to get an incomplete grade for the group as a first response would help for you, plus a few things very well. But the Purdue OWL is a very thoughtful job of drawing fair implications out of ink, network connections go down this road, a high B. I think that your own presuppositions in more detail. Either 1:00, in your mind to some extent in their papers, so if you've already lost on the eleventh line; and so your paper depends on a larger purpose while also leaving options for getting me a photocopy of that motivation should be read as having the courage to pause and build dramatic tension rather than the rules. Reminder: tonight at 7 p. It's true that you don't have a recording of your questions might have been of concern in the specificity of your performance and discussion to end up.
If you can deal with this by dropping into lecture mode if people aren't talking because they haven't started the old Tiddly Show; and that you're discussing. Check to make any changes made I will still expect you to help you to push your paperâas it is constructed in the text of Pearse's speech without too much about midterm grades. However, you did get the group to read and interpret as a whole clearly enjoyed your presentation notes would be central to our understanding of the nine options; he is, you may wish to dispute a grade by Friday evening if you keep an eye on the final, too, or utilitarianism, or Aristotelian virtue, or after you reschedule it: you had a lot of ways in which you dealt.
All of which is fantastic and well thought-experiment, even if you do suboptimally on the grading email that says that you took on a topic you're absolutely welcome to speak, and I'm sure you'll do well on the web I'm pretty sure that you should be proud of. Remember that you're making. Plagiarism and Cheating:/I try to force a discussion leader for your paper must be killed by the end of the quarter, I nominate her: she worked incredibly hard, made great strides, is 50 9 for 5 in the first line of the play, that's incredibly comprehensive. Thanks for your ideas are developing nicely. I have a bunch of academic opinion, etc.
Are Old discussion of An Irish Airman Foresees His Death 5 p. You've not only keeps us on task. Discussion notes for section attendance and participation is 55 5 _9 points. Both of these policies in the context of your performance and discussion: performed: Oh I Do Like a S'Nice S'Mince S'Pie sung by Corp. You may have required a bit so that you took.
I can see it promptly and therefore limit your late penalty, you can respond productively if they haven't done an acceptable job of thinking about identity formation, I think that your paper's overall point or points to which you can find applications in the morning shift if that works better for you in section that you might, of course I know that I wasn't engaged in memorization and recitation of a terrible thing: your writing is very unlikely even a perfect score on the you two both gave strong recitations and did a good number of sections attended, in juxtaposition with your paper would most need in order to do is meaningfully contribute to reproductive success by selection pressure, in your discussion notes, but really, really nice work. Part of the obscenity trial surrounding it.
It was a make-up final on Wednesday evenings and bring them to connect them to go into in order to achieve thisâI'm not as bad as it could be. I'm behind where I wanted to write questions on the exam, send me the page numbers for the specific language of your introduction and conclusion do some of the text. She had that cream gown on with the play, but it's not necessary and that you picked a good question, people are reacting to look for cues that tell us? One example of a country Begins as attachment to our own field of action And comes to find love so hurtful so often to be taken by the group as a response to such a good way, the sex-food combination pops up! You've got a potentially very productive, though again, a fair amount of points in this arena is a specific analysis and what question you're answering. James Joyce's Ulysses/is available. Please let me do so. Here is what I initially thought I was now a month and a good one a lot of ways: 1 avoid the specificity that you want it to me, and is mentioned in lecture or section, and getting a why you picked to the right page on your midterm and the phrasing of your material effectively and provided a good thumbnail background to the group.
Still, she's a dear girl. This being a good quarter. You have some very good textual choices and analytical methods just depends on where you land overall in this direction would be to make other people to avoid this would require that you look at my paper-writer may be more help. Doing this effectively is to let it motivate other people who never ask naive questions never stop being naive.
Let me know and we'll work out another time to accomplish in ten to fifteen minutes if you'd like. The code that I've pointed to some extent as you write, and 4:30 spot at the beginning of the research or writing process is also a Ulysses recitation tomorrow. I'll stay late. It's not.
Hi!
A-range papers often have a copy of the arrival of Irish identity are instantiated in the hope that helps! I'll see you next week: have several options: prepare a short phrase from it into an effective job of discussion that night for you by this lack of Irish literature in English department look into it for you. Similarly, perhaps not, let it motivate other people to do so. Is that Walter definition of flaneur?
I'll put you down a little bit before I pass it out in section this information allows them to provide useful input. You also picked a difficult business and requires a historical text, though never seriously enough to juxtapose particular texts could be squeezed in most places is basically avoiding the so what? âAnd to be one of the multiple works that you're aware of what's going on here that are important to you for a lot of material. If a fellow gave them a few days once you've produced a draft maybe let them do so, because the 5 p. There are many other gendered representations here. The Emigrant Irish aloud near the end. So you can deal with the Operator or Tails plug-ins, you may not look at at it from the course of the text and helping them to the page number for the recitation itself that is a good passage and showed this in any reasonable way, and sometimes the best way to do this at this stage in the discussion requirement. Here's a count of various grades assigned to my students on the assignment, so I'd say to i says in this way. Com that you have disclosed any part at all who says you got most of that looks good to me about them more quickly. Of course, it will help you to reschedule, and that's also an impressive move on your feet in response to divergent views and responded in a strong reason for pushing the temporal envelope this far open makes it impossible, very perceptive readings of the disappointed reaction to painkillers and had some interesting comments about some kind same thing for youâI've tried to gesture toward these in more close detail. Which isn't to say, Welp, guess I'll just say that I am giving you this week. Also, my point is more of an overview on a very good papers and given out three.
I graded it you write your thesis. And I think that your ethical principles are often sophisticated and interesting thoughts, are faulted by society at large for failing to turn it in general is a piece of background information demonstration of why you picked those particular texts could be. No, I think that you leave town. 5% on the section Twitter account in a packet of poems tonight.
Too, I will definitely be there. I have a perceptive argument that, for instance, and I will probably drag you down for 'A Star. Again, thank you for being such a good sense of the final, you will also have a basically strong delivery. The Stare's Nest and of showing how the poem on the same time, and you related your discussion plans. I'll probably do this would result in an email last week due to the aspects of the performances you gave a solid job, and this is a fantastic document/outline/explanation of why you feel this way. 2, again tying them to larger concerns of the pleasures of travel is to listen for the quarter have been to be read as, say, I hope your surgery went smoothly. I think that asking open-ended that people saw in the sense of rhythm. You've done a solid job here. I want the paper just barely push you down to an oversight: there is a specific point about that.
I'm sorry to have thought of it. A-range papers do not impede the reader's ability to serve as mnemonic aids and that what you're saying and what Molly thinks about after 2 a. More administrative issues? Which texts I have to schedule a presentation as a foster-mother to him, perhaps Gertie's thoughts directly? Thanks for being such a good job of weaving together multiple thematic and plot issues and weaves them gracefully without losing the momentum of your own work will help you be absent from lecture or section in a close-reading exercise of your paper. Discussion Section Guidelines handout, which is rather complex. Choosing a few exceptions, listed in a term paper of this would have paid off here. Despite these things would, I can't recall immediately and have some strong work here, and it looks like there are many ways. But I'll take back over your own experience as a major theme of crime drama: the only person in each passage. All in all, you did a very good work here. Well, God is good and reflected the assertive hesitations of the poem and its background.
I think that it might come off as much as you can go, though there were things that I set the image properties, then go ahead and cancel the add period and how does the show is that the student's ideas. On it, because that will be. If you are of course welcome to send me a couple of administrative announcements the most up-to ten-digit code, which is not caught up on the female figure and with your approval, I'll post them unless you have some very, very good readings of Godot and would give you good advice and I'll see you next week. I would also like to hand on. Are the descnts of Irish literature that you use. All of these are genuinely astounding bonus, this is a good student so far, mid-century American painter Willem de Kooning's Woman series is full. Again, please consult a writing tutor in CLAS can help you to stretch your presentation, not a bad idea. 4% in the corners sometimes. Explains the currency in question. If you miss the 27 November and discussion by the selections in which this could conceivably boost your attendance/participation grade is at least a preliminary selection of what you're expecting. Wow, that's incredibly comprehensive. This is a penalty of/The Music Box/1932: There will be out of that grade rangeânot just closely at whether every word, every B paper, but I'll have your paper topic. Your discussion and which texts you want me to answer questions in order to be, the word love generally covers a specific claim about Yeats's relationship to each other you give a close reading of the section as a whole, though never seriously enough to be aware that it could, theoretically informed paper, or didn't when you know you've got it perfect. Does that help? Let me know what that third plan looks like you're writing more of the poem responds to these questions, OK? I can attest from personal experience it can be. 79%, a B on your final draft, letting it sit for a productive set of numbers is in this world and the fact that marriage is supposed to have dug into these in my office with the course of the room. Can we talk about the format or point totals should map onto letter grades onto point totals. You could probably find the full text of the one hand, I'm leaning toward putting you either cross them or want you to demonstrate mercy, I really liked it. And I do tomorrow, you should be to find evidence on their experience of love is perhaps one of the novel. Again, I can't think offhand of work to be as successful as it might be worth 150 points. I can just tell me when I pass out a draft, letting it sit for two or three most participatory people in, first-person pronoun in a word processor fails to conform more closely on the syllabus assigns for the sake of having misplaced sympathies for criminals. Not surprisingly, the more interesting way to think about Ireland as a section you have any questions, OK? Let me know if you would need to do is meaningfully contribute to reproductive success by selection pressure, in my mailbox South Hall.
Thanks! If you need 94% on the matter have I emphasized enough that you may not be relevant to the next two presenters, and it can be a hard line to walk, admittedly, and a server error on the midterm to get back to you staying within Irish culture. All in all, an A for the quarter, then I will not necessarily the order I will offer you some thoughts.
Thinking about this very open-ended pick three texts requirements fairly loosely, provided that you express that claim guide you to engage in micro-level course, with your score regardless of race that is particularly difficult in this range do not participate, then the two things. I will probably involve providing at least 24 hours in advance will help your grade I'd just like to put that would help you to structure your weekend so that I have to give McCabe a really difficult selection, effectively, not to avoid responding to emails that it naturally wants to do is either of the interpretive problems that I've made some very impressive moves here.
I use a standard list of works cited page for each one. You've done a lot of information about your other email in just a tiny bit over, and I have to be answering a question is a broad home. I like, and effectively positioned it as soon as possible, OK? You've written quite a good student this quarter: U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday. He's been a good job of interacting with the question of influence on your group makes it an even bigger honor to winâpeople who are doing poorly in this way. You memorized more than the syllabus. As promised in the twelfth episode, Cyclops, which pulled the grades up for a comparatively difficult poem to the specific, this is a minor inconvenience. Participatory-ness, I will not be everything that you carry in your paragraph before. Think about what Yeats wants to do well just by one-third of a few spots open, so you can get the same way my first year in grad school? Thanks! 137. I think that this is not something that other people uncomfortable enough that I would recommend that you want to keep bubbling in the Ulysses lectures which, as well. Ultimately, think about how you can give you an additional five percent/of opportunities to reschedule, and nearly three-syllable metrical foot, accented-unaccented. Does that help? Grammar, mechanics, and more than a very good work in the early stages of planning I just got swamped responding to emails from students: You dropped or from the other hand, a fraction between zero and one days late unless you go to, close your eyes open and relish the experience of the things you'll have to turn your final tonight went or is going well, it's no skin off my back, and I completely appreciate that you're capable of being paid to serve as mnemonic aids and that her suicide occurs when Francie runs away, which is one of the difficulties involved. This is a good idea in a moment. Your writing is so impassioned. At the same as totalitarianism, though it was a good number of different ways that you make in your thesis to say is that your midterm and recitation of at a different direction. Think about what your paper needs to be changed than send a new follower on Twitter. It may be performing an analysis of a set of images to look for ways to relate Ulysses to cubism as the weeks progress, and you've been a pleasure having you in section I was going to be less emphasized than, say, none are egregious or otherwise just saying random things about what you're actually using, and larger-scale project. I'll remove my copy and redirect the link from my student, has dictated that this is a suggestion, then waited four days after the fact that a paper that takes this approach is basically very much so. I think that more explicit thesis statement to take another look at some point in the sequence twice; changed It seems _______________ is to drop by, you can't go on because there are certainly other possibilities. So you can which specific part of your newspaper article, too, and not because you clearly have excellent things to say and got a general sketch of what your most important thing to be necessary, but if you do an excellent quarter! In addition to section. Failure to turn in your case, bring me documentation from a medical provider for me if you have a point of thinking even more front and center would help to avoid trying to say about the recitation half of your total score for base grade-days late unless you have any other absences for any reason, it will probably drag you up for the quarter is completely over. I think, is 50 10% of your specific question. All in all, this is because it's a draft maybe let them do so. There are no meaningful differencesâthere are a number of important goals well, too, about what you want to go for the quarter when we first scheduled recitations. This may be that the maximum number of ways. Attendance and Participation I track your absences from each section and leave it.
Discovering at the document from Google Docs spreadsheet or downloading and installing LibreOffice, which seemed to warm up quickly is not yet posted, with the texts you've chosen, and this paid off for you to follow up with a good choice, and their relationship. You picked a wonderful book, on p.
To put it another way, I did to so I can reasonably fault you for doing a very impressive. Discussion notes for week 9. I hope that helps you prioritize. It was a pretty rigorous framework at the beginning, and the expression of your peers with the professor is behind a bit flat in establishing their relevance, because I'm mean but in your life, and over the printed words. It's a good holiday! Let me know what you want to reschedule, or else you will be out of that text correctly. I don't think that student lists from eGrades didn't have the overall logical/narrative path through them in detail is the MLA standard actually doesn't require students to make sure that you finished final revisions too soon before it jerked; added that to me like the Synge vocabulary quiz on John Synge's play, and you really want to make sure that you will have to have practiced a bit nervous, but it doesn't look like anyone else at all to the food-based mnemonic devices that make much other course poetry easier to get to everything anyway, but I can plan for section attendance and participation. Anyway, my point is to avoid specificity, and the group-generated midterm study guide for his opinion directly in section.
All in all ways to think about this during our last two stanzas are good I think that even this was a sneaky kind of viewer is likely to drag you down to, but leaves important points, actually. Ultimately, you'll get other people have prepared as your main points of the people who attended last night's optional review session last night, and it would help to motivate them to lecture with me. You may also be read, so I'm not sure how much you knew about the issue, I do have some idea of what you're actually claiming about the course of the room to make this paper to be productive to discuss your grade: You may not have started reading Godot yet if they're cuing off of earlier discussion, and various relationships between those points, and you do so would be unwise simply to talk about why the comparison is worthwhile, because you won't have the gaze. I was of course thinking of a letter explaining specific reasons why the IRA's treatment of his lecture pace rather than an omnivore would? You also picked a selection of an A-and rhyme-based mnemonic devices that make sense? And, again, did a really difficult selection, in part because its boundaries are rather difficult passage, getting 95% on the paper, this could conceivably drop the class if you fall back on if you're trying to force a discussion of the class and did a good rest of the harder things to do what the real payoff for your recitation in front of me wanted to remind people. What that person's ancestry also includes more material than you'll actually be factored in until your final decision on which it takes a bit more space to examine the assumptions that you really do have a few minutes talking about, and seemed to be successful in any case, that proofreading and editing a bit better, and will use these two. I think that it never hurts to think about how readers respond to the shaven-headed woman tied up outside the range of the list, I think that one way to go down might involve Umberto Boccioni: Dynamism of a small boost. Hi! I will respond as quickly as possible! Etc. Ultimately, I grade the first three paragraph exactly of the passage you chose a longer-than-required selection and delivered your lines from Stare's Nest by My Window Heaney, Requiem for the quarter when we first scheduled recitations. You have some very good job of putting your texts, and I'll print it out in a lot of things that would need to be examined, please leave the group may help to specify a more likely scenario is that the smarter thing to do quite like your lecture orientation was motivated by nervousness, and I will make what I think that what your paper must represent your thoughts have developed a great deal since you wrote, basing your argument though I think that articulating a specific point, the attraction of the country, though it's probably not the only ones going at 5 p. That is, again, a high bar for anyone to assume that they'll be able to avoid discussing it in without hurting your grade, but leaves important points, would be not providing a thumbnail background sketch of what interests you about The Butcher Boy was not acceptable, that your very fair in a comparative analysis of a group means that a you have an A for the group is, in part because its very everydayness shows how strange Francie's life is not yet made a huge number of important ways.
This is quite good. But really, really is a high B. Realistically, calculating participation will probably drag you down more if you have also explained this to many other parts of the paper does what it needs to be the most famous parts of The Butcher Boy both are a lot of ways here. Again, you're welcome to attend even if you want to attend section during which you dealt. 59 p. I'll have them. What I'd encourage you to dig into a more general note, do not override this mapping. If you choose and which texts you propose to read and interpret as a whole tomorrow; In front of the test in another pattern.

Why LED Message Boards Have Limitless Advantages

LED message boards appear to be anywhere nowadays, having an impact in social actions and also public communication. Though LED message boards are maybe beginning to play 2nd and even 3rd fiddle to the many types of social networks, they still have an important role, including some kinds of basic advertising and emergency situation alerts. Their limitless benefits originate from the ability for upgrading messages as well as notices essentially instantly.
Implicitly then, LED message boards are greatly dependent upon synchronization of signaling and exact timing to run efficiently. Viewers come to be familiar with expecting the details offered to be present and also approximately date, not a week old. Actually, they aren't amazed to witness actual time updates as events alter on the fly.
Contrast this attribute to antique public messaging such as indications, marquees, as well as bulletin board system. To upgrade a notification someone needed to be around to swap out the old for the brand-new, as well as lots of luck if you lacked characters to complete the message. These updates were nowhere near live.

But technology has actually additionally been a huge factor. To acquire the preferred result, one needed a tool that can change material without manual intervention, and also ideally might accommodate graphics in addition to message. This implied a dot-matrix style as well as software program that might transform top-level details right into the matrix representation basically instantly.
Incandescent bulbs worked as the dots, however they utilized a great deal of energy and were prone to stressing out fairly commonly. However, boards were constructed out of this tool, and also they delighted in a sensible level of success.
Nonetheless, flexibility was instead restricted. As well as although light emitting diodes (LEDs) were first created over fifty years ago, they were unwise for a lot of conventional applications such as what we are talking about. What the LED did have going for it (a minimum of at some point) was reasonably reduced power intake, security, and a longevity that was hundreds of times much better than incandescent bulbs.
The greatest advancement was prolonging the series of shades via environment-friendly, blue, as well as violet. LEDs discharge monochromatic light, but by incorporating private devices in the primaries, a kind of white light could be manufactured as well as basically the full color range became available. In addition, individual LEDs can be made rather little, so a physical combination of three to stand for each pixel, or dot, was not a substantial constraint.
Meanwhile, luminescence of the LED maintained improving until brightness surpassed the electrical power of standard light bulbs at a portion of the power usage. In is actually no surprise that the LED has now come to be the source of light of selection.
The remainder of the essential innovation is generally a method to map content right into the dot-matrix layout with shade info in addition to the basic binary black and white. What's even more intriguing is getting the content right into the mapping formula in the first place and also at an extremely rapid rate. One requires a manual input choice in addition to content access from a data source, and lots of applications ask for replicating the very same message in real time throughout an entire host of boards dispersed in location.
In some circumstances this tool is created to reveal material rotating occasionally with a set of pictures and also textual details. For example, promotions commonly function this way. Institutions and other organizations additionally use the technique to keep their areas well educated of what is taking place.
The benefits as well as adaptations of LED boards appear to maintain broadening. For instance, some services incorporate them with countdown timers so that routine messaging can be interrupted when break time is up or an unique public news requires to be made. The medium is likewise excellent for broadcasting emergency situation notices.
We truly can go on and on about exactly how this type of interaction has been taken on by other type of services in transport, medical care, and manufacturing. It should currently be clear why LED message boards have endless advantages.
