when you think about it ben's life is kinda sad and fucked up, and probably overworked

i mean unlike other teen heroes, they still hide their identity, they still have much time for their personal life and a privacy

and ben however, literally got his identity outed and he can't even have a day off without some bad guy bursting out of your door, probably because the villain knows what you are and knows where you live, and I think I read somewhere that he's considering moving to plumbers because how much trouble he's bringing to his hometown

and the fact that you are really well known, not just the people won't stop bothering you because you are popular, some people are not gonna treat you like a normal person because of how powerful you are, and not to mention how it will affect your school life and social life, you are basically not one with your classmates anymore because how different you are now, and you can't keep up with your grades because of your hero life (the fact that they confirms that ben still goes to school, it's just always away, and the fact that's he's considering going to college)

also he's really overworked, the show confirms that he works a part time job i think, and idk if he's paid at the plumber at all, and nah how's this dude not break down and collapse yet cuz all the school, a job and a hero life pack all to you and still be fine 😭😭

ben's case is kinda different from the other teen heroes cause man, he's isolated and alone from his hero life from the other people

so i started imagining how the transformers franchise would be generally represented in the Omniverse/Fandomverse and by proxy how every other fandom/franchise i like, liked or feel that it would fit.

It's probably gonna be personal/hc redesigns of characters from shows/continuities i've seen/familiar with or recently gotten into. In the TF case that would be RID2015, Cyberverse, Rescue Bot(shocker, i know), animated and Prime if i'm not careful(intimidated) enough, or BotBots since i just remembered about that and for the same reason for Prime.

I imagine the autobots and thier human allies being in a High-ranked alliance with the Omniverse Authoritarial Department along with the Metal cardbot cast, the Brave police, Blaze and his allies(mothertrucker was a firetuck and police tuck once or more and he sorta counts as a multi-altmodeed transformer), team Umizoomi, the Paw Patrol(shocker, AGAIN.(Also, there'll be two Chases)), the Mad Dogz, the police men from Spooky Month, the UT-DR Multiverse, Tom and his co-workers from the Sonic Movies(+ Sonic and his team) and so on, so more. And with a bias move I'M also apart in the OAD as an Privet eye Investigator/Detective, Spy, Police sketch artist and a 4th thing -

And for some ass reason I'm reinventing that one rottmnt g/t idea, but with Optimus thanks to a zesty TFP opXreader fic i read out of pure curiosity where Ratchet had to resort to Synth En to save Op, only to make Op freaky/zesty (i'm not using the word freaky/zesty as an insult, it's the best way to describe it, literally. Like, NSFW warning. Do not read if you're not comfortable with any form of Xes).

I believe Sentinel Prime actually has a pretty extensive knowledge on various organics (and more importantly their weaknesses) across the galaxy as a result of his xenophobia.

It's just there isn't that much written about Earth besides mocking it's name ("Terrible name- might as well name it dirt" to quote a certain biologist) and how just insanely diverse its organic life it.

More importantly, Sentinel may have just seen a rare opportunity to exploit a knowledge gap of Jazz's and decided to tell him the local wildlife spew slime to freak him out.

The writers for Ben 10 made a lot of choices but I gotta say Kevin's whole character arc is one of my favorite things about the series.

Like it's not perfect, alien force and ultimate alien end up having to do a lot of heavy lifting in an attempt to make his story somewhat comprehensible but it ends up rather nicely by the time omniverse comes around and throws a wrecking ball into it (tbh it doesn't end up changing much for the main points of Kevin's character throughout the series,but it's still a wierd choice ) ,what survives after that is what we have I guess.

Kevin starting out as someone who hates Ben because of his issues and learning to let go of his anger and becoming more mild in personality,but still himself,just overall less angry, and more willing to learn to love people and in turn be loved by them is an amazing character arc for him, he ends up so much happier than how he started out.

Him not being able to untransform being related to him not being able to let go of his anger as a teenager who ran away from home thinking that his parents were scared of him or hated him because of his powers, because he's a "freak" is also really good, but on the other hand I don't care for the way ultimate alien makes Ben act when Kevin transforms again, like Ben knowns absorbing a lot of energy fucks with Kevin's mind, yet he acts like Kevin choose to transform because he's evil again?? It's so weird, even grandpa max telling Ben that he'd put down Kevin like a mad dog is a bit much tbh.

I kind of oscillate between not caring about him and Gwen being a thing and liking it, on one hand they are cute, on the other the way the series handled them getting together is a bit odd, sometimes it feels like the writers were saying "everyone knows these two will get together" so the build up for them being a thing feels a bit lacking.

Which also goes into how Gwen is written sometimes, but honestly every character in the series is unfortunately in the death grip of the amatonormativity and the cishetness of it all.

IVE ACTUALLY GOT A LOT OF THOUGHTS ON THE ALTS. I love AUs so much, so it's fantastic to just go crazy with rambling. Here you go!!

Bad Ben: Bad Ben is actually very, very interesting to me!! I love it when a good character becomes a bad character in terms of like their role. I would have LOVED to see more about him! I don't know, there's something about heros becoming villains that just makes me go bonkers. I feel like they COULD have added a slightly different color scheme, though, instead of just making him mint. By different I mean literally keeping him looking the same but inverting the white/black on him. I feel like it would have been a subtle change that could represent him deeper as a flipped version of Ben.

Ben 23: MY MUNCHKIN. I LOVE 23 SO MUCH HE'S MY SON. So I actually really do enjoy the concept of him! Someone without guidance, just doing whatever their teenage mind tells them is right at the time. I quite like him! I do think he could have been a bit more out of character, though, since Max did play a huge part in Prime Ben's life (and Max couldn't in Ben 23's). Maybe a bit more careless, but who is Ben if not careless in his actions? 23 could have been significantly more moody, at least in my opinion, because I don't think he would have gotten over Max's death and he's got the teenage brain, but otherwise, I adore him! I really wish we could have seen more of him.

Mad Ben: SEE NOW MAD IS MY SECOND FAVORITE BECAUSE I LOVE ME SOME APOCOLYPSE SHIT. The only reason he doesn't surpass Zarro Ben is because he is not a zombie. But anyway, I do like Mad! Again with the "good-guy-turned-bad-guy" trope, but also because we have confirmation that he went crazy with power and was trained under the unforgiving fist of Vilgax. It makes me INSANE and I do love him. I do think he'd find a way to break out after Mad!Rook put him in chains, though, since- y'know. He's a Ben. Ben's are known for being little bastards. Mad totally has some tricks under his sleeves.

No Watch Ben: See I'm not the biggest fan of No Watch, but I do adore him!! The only Ben in millions of Universes to have never gotten an Omnitrix? Hot DAMN. He is so very unique. I actually love him so bad, even if I don't talk about him or mention him a lot. He's always in the back of my mind just chilling out. I do believe that he is skilled when it comes to weapons, especially guns and artillery! He's just a little guy to me.

Benzarro: BENZARRO. ZARRO. ZEE. ZARRO BEN. BEN OF THE ZARRO. I LOVE HIM. SOSOSOSOSOOSOSSOSOSOSO MUCH. I LOVE ZOMBIES. Dude, if you could see 8 year old me, he'd be tweaken out so bad because ZOMBIES!! I LOVEEEE Apocalyptic Zombie Outbreak things. Benzarro is not the exception. Benzarro holds a special place in my heart as the mandatory undead character that makes a show good (jk, but I do love him so bad if you can't tell XD). Honestly, I don't have anything too bad to critic about him! I only will say that I wish his body was a little more decayed, especially on the side without the Zombitrix. I draw him with more decayed flesh and missing chunks because of it. But otherwise, I adore him SO much.

Eon: He counts, right? I actually really like Eon! Blah blah blah "Good guy is now a bad guy" shtick, but I actually do quite enjoy him! I imagine him as another version of Bad Ben instead of Prime. I think he used to have an Omnitrix, did bad things with it, and it broke along the way during one of his biggest heists. No longer having that power he relied so heavily on drove him insane, and now he wanders the Universe in search for a power just like it- not realizing he has achieved something far, far greater. I think he's cool :)

Gwen 10: I say she counts since she has an Omnitrix and would be considered an "Alt Ben" even though she's literally Gwen. But I think the concept of her is super cool! I like to imagine that she knows about her Spark, but never got too connected to it because she has the Omnitrix. She totally uses her aliens in every day life, and as a typical pre-teen, she also goes bonkers with them at times. She gets the zoomies as a Vulpimancer and denies it ever happened XD

Prime Ben: What can I say about him that everyone else already hasn't? He's the original wieldier, and I think he's chill. He's the base for all of the other Universes. Nothing could've happened without him :) THANK YOU FOR CHECKING OUT MY RAMBLE IT MEANS A LOT THAT SOMEONE ASKED EHAEHAHEAHEEE. I'm not including Albedo in this one because I do not believe he is an alternative of Ben! I think he's more-so a brother of Ben, since they've got the same DNA now (save for a few changes that made Albedo white and red), just send another ask for Bedo boy if you want that ramble too >:)

You aren't too far off lmao (mostly on the colour at least).

You might not be particularly a fan of CNA from your sphere of headcanons, but considering that Ben can access another biomechanical species in the galvanic mechamorph, I'm sure there's enough of an Omnitrix work around to sample cybertronian data. Seeing as it's a Camaro you could probably have a TFP x Ben 10 crossover equivalent to TFA Waspinator maybe, a green Bumblebee (or a green hornet if you of/remember that) but it's Ben. Considering how the biomechanical Upgrade has a few biological translation issues to the point of not quite technically being a fully integrated transformation, maybe Ben would speak with his own voice like Upgrade does or maybe even through radio depending on how physically different cybertronians are to human anatomy.

I mean that specific line of thinking would only be possible if Ben snagged a sample of Bumblebee's CNA (or whatever you'd prefer) which could either be convoluted or unclimactic, though I guess if street racing in some part of the globe with a desert (aka somewhat nearby Bellwood which already exists cross universe between Ben 10 and Generator Rex) there could be some plot about his shenaniganery nearly running Team Ben off the road and messing with Kevin's own heavily modified yet fresh from 1979 Dodge Challenger to the irritation and anger of Kevin himself. Something something Bee got the attention of the wrong (mostly) humans(ish).

completely unrelated to Ditto,,, but the temptation to start a Ben 10 re-write fic but revolving around a genderswapped Ben (Jen/Jennifer Tennyson is the name i'm workshopping but open to suggestions) but it feels like that being the core idea (also self indulgent bcus trans girl moment) is sortaaaa lazy? i dunno! if you have any thoughts on any of this please let me know!

first of all, what is the omniverse?

we all know the basic idea, right?

“infinite possibilities! everything you can possibly imagine is real!”

and while the sheer notion of that is fcking terrifying

how does it work??

based on all the breadcrumbs and bits and pieces that exe file has been feeding my hard drive, i actually have a solid idea of how the omniverse is organized

or at least a part of it, since the excerpts i get often say “observable monocosm”

this is gonna destroy my mental health…

there are two types of multiverse that i think most people are familiar with

the many-worlds interpretation & what i call the “snowflake interpretation”

the many-worlds interpretation is the more well-known one. we’ve all seen or heard of it. schrodinger’s cat. aus. mcu. everything everywhere all at once. you get it.

while the snowflake interpretation is more like every universe is wholly, completely different from each other from the start - entirely different histories, physics, etc.

well in the omniverse, these two interpretations coexist, just not on the same levels. lemme break it down

if you’re actually into multiverses and cosmology and stuff, youve prolly heard of max tegmark. he basically suggested that the multiverse is separated by levels

and the omniverse kinda builds off of that, just switched up a little like poorly copied homework.

the first level is a universe

it’s indisputable. even if the omniverse doesn’t exist, i dont think ppl can deny that the universe does (unless theyre weird).

movin right along…

the 2nd level is a multiverse. this is where the many-worlds interpretation comes in. if u somehow don’t know it, it implies that all the possible outcomes of a quantum measurement, or basically an event, are equally real but do not interact with each other. means all hypothetical scenarios, no matter how big or small the changes are - what if you didn’t date that girl, or what if the meteor that killed the dinosaurs never came - have their own worlds. they branch off of one universe, and until a certain point in time they are one in the same. think of it like a tree

the 3rd level is called a megaverse. according to excerpts from vivat vita, the existence of them is still debated. they basically encompass all multiverses that, get this, are created from similar kinds of matter. this is where it gets complicated. scientists arent assured that megaverses exist since they havent discovered an observable “divide” between them. ill explain this later

anything beyond a megaverse is considered untestable, unobservable, and completely unheard of. most scientists just stop there - all megaverses make up the omniverse in finality. like tegmark said, the omniverse is the ultimate multiverse, the collection of all realities that are mathematically possible.

there are some hypotheses that the levels beyond megaverses entail existences that have completely different structures and systems. like while one verse (word for level of existence) looks like this another looks like this.

there are also hypotheses that verses have their own timelines, and that alternate versions of them exist based on their interactions with each other. like there’s an alternate version of a multiverse because someone fired a wormhole between two universes at a different time.

I'll never forgive c*rtoon n*twork for making ben into reckless cheater jock asshole and sticks with that narrative for the rest of the franchise because they wanted to emulate ben's personality in the os but failing

the fact that ben's character actually has some build ups like he's actually in pressure of being a young hero and he is actually traumatized in his past experiences when he was ten hence he has constant nightmares every night

and the fact they drop all that and make ben the worst possible he could for the sake of comedy and as someone who likes character writing this pisses me off

and it really feels like uaf wants to have deep storylines but is just too scared to go deeper, probably because ben 10 is cn's glorified toy commercial and they don't want it to be ruined for kids by giving ben 10 "edgy" stories
