literal moments before this: a group of people in the crowd suddenly started chanting for miles to play standing next to me. he acknowledged it for a moment with the hint of a nostalgic/wistful smile, and then proceeded to level us all with reactionary, wry, raised-eyebrows look and launched immediately into see ya when i see ya instead. and this isn’t even my milex brain talking (the girl next to me literally went “oh wow”), the way he did it was genuinely SO loud. like it was an unmistakeable expression that so clearly showed he feels something about those two songs is inherently connected. it was such a from-the-gut, instinctive response and it spoke VOLUMES. i wish wish WISH i'd managed to catch it on video because i know my description is not doing it justice at all, but trust me. it really packed a punch. like there was this reminder of the most popular puppets song from the crowd (and one that’s particularly associated with all their milex antics at that) , and then this visceral expression from miles of "yeah, none of that anymore" or "look at where we are now" as he introduced see ya when i see ya. there were just. SO many emotional layers. and like yes, i know it's sort of an open secret that see ya when i see ya might be about alex and their creative/personal relationship, but god. this really felt so close to an open admission that that’s the case.

I’ve been turning this around in my head and actually, I suspect this was Matt’s plan all along. not to give him too much credit, but to me it seems like he’s thinking on multiple tracks at once right now because his more reckless actions seem to work out very conveniently in his favor.

when Matt visited Dex in prison, he didn’t just get pissed off and leave, he got the message. slamming Dex’s face against the table served the double purpose of giving Dex a weapon by knocking his tooth loose and making Matt feel better by giving him something to hit. jumping in front of Fisk was probably a less planned step (although I’m sure Matt was aware that revenge on Fisk would be Dex’s priority, so who knows?), but it also presented two solutions to Matt’s problems with him. either Matt takes the bullet, lives, and exactly what OP described falls into place, or he takes the bullet, dies, and finally gets to reunite with Foggy. from what I saw in that episode, Matt is in enough of a fucked-up mental state that he probably saw that as a win-win situation.

matt murdock just became the mayors hero. if fisk was planning on outing him as daredevil (which is unlikely tbh he likes fighting him too much), it would now damage his campaign that vigilantes need to be stopped since daredevil was the one who saved him at an event that the task force was supposed to be leading security at. matt's accidentally just put him in checkmate lol

"the zelda timeline is bullshitted and fake and-" wind waker and phantom hourglass and spirit tracks are all direct sequels of each other. the games themselves say this. adventure of link is a direct sequel to LOZ. the games and guidebooks that came with it say this. link to the past was made as a prequel to explain how the triforce came to be in the state it was in in LOZ. the games and guidebook say this. ocarina of time was then made as a prequel to this game. also links awakening, as per in-game story and guidebooks, is the same link as the one from alttp. but then majoras mask was made as a sequel to ocarina of time, even if it conflicted with the events of link to the past, which suggests the whole time travel thing had some consequences. twilight princess, with the execution of ganondorf and the literal hero of time teaching you the way of the sword, is then pretty safely assumed to follow some time after ocarina of time. the oracle games feature twinrova attempting to resurrect their son, but summon ganon instead, telling us that it AT LEAST has to take place after ocarina of time and before LOZ. skyward sword pretty solidly establishes itself as the very beginning of hyrule, so has to happen before everything else.

its literally only the handheld games and the actual timespans where the timeline wobbles. the vast majority of it makes perfect sense. timeline haters simply have only actually played 2 games at best (one of which being botw) and then read some salty tumblr posts.

sbk infection au GO

(mild body horror described non graphically)

au lore/infodump under cut

so this is all inspired by this thing that @rubycowashere said about an sbk infection au with chorus fruit, based off the mlp infection au trope! so this au spawned:

-the premise for this is "the chorus fruit was already a parasite kinda, and leon/the end kingdom brought it to the overworld from the end dimension"

-once someone's infected (by coming into contact with the chorus fruit, via any means) they start to turn into weird enderman-like creatures! at least, they look similar

-the chorus plants also drain the land into end stone as they spread

-Can You See Where This Is HeadedTM

-the end dimension wasn't always like that, and more specifically, the endermen weren't always like that! <-au lore

-after the irss event, since ruby and acorn spent time in the end kingdom building (or living there temporarily in ruby's case) they also were some of the first to be infected and also spread it further across the server to the other islands (it wasn't really noticed at first in the end kingdom since it already looked like that, leon was just Having A Bad Time) (the stuff didn't spread from spruce or cherry very well since it was only the people that got got)

-so the chorus plants travel throughout the kingdoms, hitting mangrove and bamboo first! sorry m1g.

-once people realize what's going on, they start to react accordingly. nether, acacia, and doak literally break all their bridges and isolate themselves in the hopes of stopping it from spreading to them!

-here's the fun part: the explanation of why birch is immune/marm is kinda immune

-does anyone remember how lil birchy was canonically fed chorus fruit? i do! anyways, lil birchy has now exposed birch (and also marm a little bit, since it's just In Her Bedroom) to chorus in very mild doses. basically spending a lot of time around it is like getting a vaccine. the chorus plants also do not spread over where lil birchy's grown

-marm was only weakly immune, so she still got infected, but she was able to (mostly) fight it off. she has no idea if she's contagious or not, so she's holed herself up in her tower to try and study the chorus plants, since her entire island except for that's become a barren wasteland, and she knows she'll be fine if she touches the weird purple plants

-avid and doovid. waugh. their story is very sad

-basically, doovid got infected, and so they decided to put up a thin wall in the treehouse to protect avid while also being able to talk to each other. avid starts taking notes, trying to find a way to stop the infection, for doovid's sake. it does not work, and he ends up breaking the wall, because he knows it's too late to save doovid and he doesn't want him to be alone before completely losing his sanity (infected people don't die, they just kinda lose their minds). this is how avid gets infected, but he doesn't regret it

-trog, tube, & viking are all kinda doing the same/similar things, isolated but watching the infection spread around them from a distance and trying to find ways to combat it! however, viking's notes are. a little bit less neat & tidy. (also there's 2 blue + yellow sticky notes, and 1 of every other color, which was a fun detail :3) kitt is also resistant to chorus bc of the irss but literally nobody knows skldfjsdkfj

-since ruby was infected early on, cherry became unsafe, and vintage had to flee. she went to birch kingdom since it was Right There, which was very lucky on her part (birch's bridges are still intact, but you can only go out so far on them before the chorus starts appearing). she mostly spends her time staring out at the ruins of cherry kingdom wondering if there was anything she could've done to save ruby. she's also gained very mild immunity bc she's been living at birch this whole time

-for birch kingdom themselves, they're fully immune. like, "could go and eat chorus fruit and be perfectly fine" immune -milkman spends his time wishing he could've saved everyone, and also trying to convince fool to let him go look for people. fool spends his time thanking atium that milkman's safe with him and neither of them are in any immediate danger. this is why there's a little bit of conflict! :D it's fiiiine

-the other kingdoms are less fleshed out but here's what i have:

-elffe is working on his castle more. he's trying to forget about everything happening around him. artemis is in her cocoon again

-kale is in space so he doesnt know what's going on (tea and fix are also on the spaceship bc i couldnt figure out what else to do with them

-acorn is infected, but since anathra's a hologram, he's immune. however, due to the memory problems and lack of support (acorn being. not in the right state of mind to help him. and other than that being completely alone) he's also not doing too great, and eventually he shuts down and is unable to do anything (like, glitched out x2)

-for end kingdom themselves: they're both infected. they're vibing

Wrong Ticket

Danny bought a plane ticket to travel to Goshen, Indiana to visit his father's family. Apparently his aunt was very excited to meet him, and Jazz was excited to send him away from the lab after his accident.

She was worried that she would have to spend a few days scouting colleges, and Danny would be left home unguarded (she wouldn't make that mistake twice, her parents didn't count as good guards and Danny would be too bored since he was on school holidays), so the invitation from their uncles was like a miracle fallen from heaven.

Unfortunately for Danny, his family didn't check the ticket after purchasing it, and therefore they didn't notice the error where "Goshen, Indiana" was changed to "Gotham, New Jersey," so when the airline called his flight, Danny didn't notice his destination. He practically fell asleep a few seconds after entering the plane.

Danny wished he had been paying attention when a few hours later he found himself stranded on the streets of Gotham with nothing but his luggage and a little money. Though that last seemed more of a risk than a benefit if he took into account the way they watched him as he passed.

As if that wasn't enough, it seemed that something strange was starting to happen to him, there were moments where his backpack would slip from his grip, almost as if he was walking through it, and others where he felt invisible. This did not go unnoticed by the denizens of Gotham, who were assessing him with clear interest.

Red Hood, who had noticed the guy (possibly meta) stumbling into his territory, sighed and offered him a temporary place to stay. Danny, who just met the strange guy in the red helmet, was relieved to have temporary lodging, though he would probably look for another place the next day. Just in case.

Beck: doesn't personally celebrate Christmas, but their family does. Would prefer spending Christmas Eve with MC--getting drunk on eggnog, going sledding or skating, baking cookies and trying to frost them before they cool, staying up late and falling asleep after sloppily making out on the couch. Christmas day they'd probably pop in to see their family--at least long enough to give their nephew a gift--but would want to get out ASAP.

When it comes to presents they receive, they like cool clothes and anything 'exciting'. Make of that what you will. When it comes to giving, they're a very impulsive gifter. They tend to grab whatever reminds them most of MC and hope for the best. That, and they'd probably make MC their favorite desert c:

Croft: much like...every other holiday, Christmas depresses the hell out of Croft. They miss their family. Especially their mom. Still, if MC felt strongly about celebrating, they'd do their best. They are fond of bad, Hallmark-y Christmas movies, so they'd want to do a marathon with cocoa and candy canes. Something simple, that allows them to get away from their emotions for a little bit.

For gifts they receive, Croft is quite picky. They like accessories and anything to do with the occult, but they don't feel like they need anything. Whatever they want, they buy for themself, so they don't really enjoy receiving gifts. Also, they will readily accept presents for Bones as presents for themself lmao. Give that cat a sweater and Croft will be thrilled.

They're a very thoughtful gift-giver. It's their love language. They get frustrated that they can't splurge on MC the way they would in the 'real world', but would still pick out the exact thing they think MC wants, and wouldn't hesitate to spend a ton of money on them.

Jay: oh, they'd want to go the whole nine yards. They love Christmas and any other holiday that lets them spend time with family. They also grew up Catholic, and while they're neutral on religion these days, Christmas mass is kind of a big one. So they'd want to spend Christmas Eve solo--just MC and them--doing romantic stuff. Exchanging gifts, hot cocoa, Christmas music, maybe go ice skating? And then Christmas morning they'd go to mass with their mom and sister (MC is invited, but Jay would 100% not expect them to come, or feel bad if they didn't). Christmas day would be a big celebration with their family and MC (and, I guess, Willow would be invited eventually lmao).

For presents, if you got them a dog they'd be the happiest person in the world lol. They also like anything 'practical'--a new pocket knife, a winter prep kit for their car, etc. They're kind of boring. That being said, new mystery novels or audio books would be great! Jay isn't as obsessive over finding the perfect gift as Croft is, but they're pretty observant. I think they'd spend a good amount of time listening to MC and trying to figure out something that they'd really want.

Perri: Christmas would be a hard one for them, for different reasons than Croft. Honestly they'd prefer to keep it kind of quiet. Making dinner together on Christmas Eve, exchanging gifts, just spending quality time together. They do really enjoy Christmas lights, so I think they'd like to also drive around town and just look at all the pretty lights. Christmas day they'd feel obligated to pop in and spend some time with their grandmother. It would be terse and short and awkward. But, that night, they would do a 'Christmas Ghost Story Spectacular' on their radio show, and they'd love MC to be a part of that!

Perri is pretty easy to shop for, because they're content with lots of different stuff. They like fun accessories and clothes, books and movies, comics, gadgets/toys, music ofc, even funny gag sort of gifts tbh. Anything that makes them smile. When it comes to giving, Perri would make MC the most carefully curated mixed tape imaginable. And also would probably buy them something small and sweet and thoughtful.

Ravi: would need to be reminded that Christmas is even coming, the man doesn't pay attention to holidays for the most part. That being said, he'd enjoy spending time with MC! He likes an excuse to get cozy and to keep MC all to himself, without any expectations to leave the house lmao. Probably would want to make dinner together on Christmas day--something over the top, especially just for the two of them. Would hang mistletoe to give him an excuse to keep stealing kisses. It would be quiet and romantic, if he had it his way.

Ravi hates presents, and doesn't ever want anything. He's a giant pain to shop for because of this. He'd appreciate something homemade--he'd find it thoughtful--but would be the type to say that spending time with MC is gift enough. You might be able to get him a puzzle or some yarn, though, and he'd be appreciative. He also, to be honest, kind of sucks at buying presents. He panics. So he'd straight-up ask MC what they wanted and buy that exact thing, or maybe knit them a scarf.

Yasmin: absolutely 100% throws a big Christmas Eve party at her house. The woman loves a party, and has a lot of friends who would rather be together than either a) alone or b) with their families. So she'd want MC there with her, to co-host and also just to be together. Get drunk, play some Christmas-y games, get a little silly with it. She'd kick everyone out eventually, though, so that she could have MC all to herself. Christmas day she'd want to spend one on one, enjoying one another's company--maybe with movies, definitely with Christmas music.

When it comes to gifts, she's pretty relaxed! There's lots of stuff she enjoys, and as long as it's clear that MC put some thought into it, she'll be happy. She likes candles and jewelry and books. As for giving gifts, Yasmin buys everyone books. Every year. She tailors said book to the person, of course--a cookbook, a guide to a hobby you've been talking about picking up, the newest novel by your favorite author--but you're getting a book. She might splurge a little bit for MC, though, since they're her partner ;)
