zolu is so funny in general but especially when you take captains orders into account. Zoro's probably the only Strawhat that can't deny his captains orders even if it's for the dumbest shit, so when they finally get married Luffy's like, "you take my last name, captains orders" and now zoro is stuck being Monkey Zoro for the rest of his life

i have a ttrpg opinion that feels gauche to share on bsky and like hitting an angry hornets nest if i share it on reddit, so instead i’ll say it here:
there’s a bunch of folks bent out of shape over critical role/darrington press’s new game, daggerheart, because they’re convinced that CR is about to abandon D&D in favor of it for campaign 4. if it were up to me i’d say DO IT because i’m sick of hasbro’s shit specifically even as WotC tries really hard to clean up the messes it and its parent company create. realistically, though?? i doubt they’ll jump into that until they can prove that daggerheart has a bit more staying power. also, remember that these people like d&d! a lot! legally it kinda sucks to have your brand so heavily built in someone else’s sandbox, but they’re ultimately still having fun there!
putting the speculation aside, i just hate this attitude of “ugh i watch for dnd! why would i watch if they’re playing something i’m not even familiar with?!!” you are weak like little baby. do you have any idea how many people watch CR who have never played dnd and have no idea about the rules beyond what they mention on stream? the real reason you watch CR, i’d venture, has a lot more to do with the cast and the types of stories they tell—2 things that are not at all dependent on a single game system! dimension 20 gets that which is why they aren’t afraid to shake things up from season to season with different systems including heavy use of modifying existing systems for their own genre! CR moving to a similar model wouldn’t suddenly shatter everything about their brand or stories!
thus, those people complaining are stupid and should feel bad and embarrassed about their opinions. if CR did make the switch, their viewership might take a hit, but not because daggerheart is worse than dnd. it’s just that the ttrpg world and especially the CR fandom is full of petty, self-righteous babies who want to complain.

I’ve written fanfiction maybe once or twice in my entire life but my brain was suddenly possessed by the ghost of my 12 year old dragon obsessed self and now I can’t stop coming up with ideas for a Love and Deepspace x Dragonriders of Pern crossover fic

You know I find it funny that tiktok is a National Security Issue, until the politicians realize that people are not moving to meta, which they have stock in, and that it makes so much money for America and now they are going to lose that money. That's not even getting into how they've realized that we have the power to not let them get elected again.

Sometimes the things in our lives aren't directed at us individually. It is so easy for me to look up and ask God, "Why did you do this to me?" But that is such a self-centered thing to do--especially when the thing in question is on a large scale or effects more people than just me. I think often we deal with the effects of what is happening to other people, and it may not be directed at us specifically. It can be hard to realize that when we are suffering (or "suffering") but it may not be our specific problem beyond how we handle it in the given moment and move on with our lives.

George's Harrison's Daily Express column on the Beatles' stay in Paris (ghost-written by Derek Taylor), 15 January 1964
WHAT a fantastic reception! Terrifying, but very flattering. More than 50 jostling French photographers and about a score from England by the look of their clothes.
Poor Ringo missed the plane - he's fogbound in Liverpool - and I nearly missed it too.
Less than an hour before take-off I was asleep in my flat - dead to the world because I didn't get to bed until about 8am.
It's funny, but we didn't feel excited until the actual take-off but the scene at the Paris airport changed all that.
Not all teenagers
It was like England before Beatlemania really got going - enthusiasm, but not enough to knock us down or tear our ties off.
The last thing we expected was a bunch of autograph hunters, but they were at the airport too. And not all of them teenagers. It was a great flight. First class - not because we wanted to be segregated. We don't mind how we travel, but the people who own the Olympia Theatre paid for the trip and laid on caviar, smoked salmon - and milk.
I think I would have preferred an egg-sandwich. I was feeling a little groggy. The excitement's really got hold of us.
We swept into Paris from the airport in a chauffeur-driven Bentley. We had it flown over by our driver. Bill. We are staying at the King George V hotel in Paris. We are told it's the best in France and it looks it.
It's a far cry from the dingy flat in Hamburg where we first broke into Continental show business. Paris is great. I've been to New York, and that is big and impressive. But this is my first time in Paris. It Is a wonderful, magical city. So much dignity and space. It makes me feel important.
The French girls look great. But then girls are the same the whole world over. We seem to have a lot of curiosity value here. The French wonder what it is about four long-haired lads which has made such an impact in England and Germany. The Frenchmen we spoke to also said that there was nothing quite like our beat music over here. I don't know yet whether this is a good or a bad thing.
Presents have been arriving right up to midnight. People we've never met sent the biggest basket of fruit in France. It weighs about 30lb. There are bouquets of flowers all over the suite and the centrepiece of our mahogany dining table is a vase ol scarlet and white orchids.
Warm-up
We open in Versailles tomorrow. That's just a warm-up. On Thursday we have a gala opening after a public dress rehearsal at the Olympia. It's all a little frightening because the Olympia holds 2,000 and we are giving 30 shows, each of 25 minutes, in three weeks. That's 60,000 seats to fill In a place where we thought we were comparatively unknown.
Because I overslept before the flight I didn't have a chance to shave or wash or pack any clothes beyond a shirt or two and a pair of boots and a suit. So I will have to return to England on a day off soon to get some gear.
We will have to try to get to bed early a few nights so that we can look around Paris during the day. It would be stupid to waste our three weeks without seeing such a beautiful city.
P.S. Tonight I went to a nightclub called Eve in the Pigalle district. It’s a smart club, and somewhere to go. The music in this club is standard wing. Okay as a background but nothing exciting.

You're wrong. This unity is far greater than you could ever know. Something that binds us together by choice rather than force.
The Torchbearer will not fall to you. The hope we give him fuels and sustains him. It will see him safely through.
And should he stumble or fall along the way, WE will be there to catch him.
For in Trench, none of us are alone.
