1. Song of the year?

Weeell spotify says it was wuthering heights by kate bush, but i think knights' discography ended up being irreplaceable in keeping me alive this summer...hmm if i had to choose just one...maybe ironic blue. It is on a playlist from when i was paranoid that i wont survive if i dont listen to it, crazy roulette & artistic partisan in the morning.

25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one

Nod nod especially in the second half of the year i made a bunch of ocs, rotated the ideas for their stories in my head, and then put them back in boxes inside my brain. I made the alien gals, fascinated by humanity through rose tinted glasses of media they got their hands on, coming to earth and experiencing the horrors. I wonder what that could be about!

Ive drawn them in my sketchbook a few other times but this is the only digital colored ref so far...

Aaanyway, then i also had mt fujo, a vtuber who reviews bl media and her nr 1 online hater (for reasons of they both ship their otp differently. AxB vs BxA is no joke) is actually her sweet irl coworker she has a crush on. But they dont know... until they do. Her outfit is supposed to have that aoba figure as a necklace/central piece of sorts

And recently ive been doing animal gijinkas. No story, theyre just fun character design exercises

Ah and i have a mhyk oc based on Margarita from The Master and Margarita. Gonna copy paste a message i sent oomf about her (since oomf is the reason i read the book in the first place and one of the reasons i finally read mhyk, it felt right they'd hear about the oc): Her lore is shes a eastern witch who fell in love with a human writer. He wrote a novel that paralleled their story, shedding a positive light on human-wizard relationships. In the town they lived in, he was mocked and the book was forbidden from being published, out of humans' bitterness towards wizards. This put a lot of strain on both him and their relationship, soon enough he got sick and died. In grief, margarita flees to a forest where she builds a library where all kinds of forbidden and banned books can be found. She also specializes in restoring objects. Her magical focus is a torn page of the book her partner had written, the one that was banned, the page being one of the few remnants of its existence. On the side, after she restored his book, she hopes to use her object restoration and psychometry (feeling memories inside objects) powers to bring the master back to life through the memories inside his book. She toys around with making other puppets like this before she can try to bring him back, but has been unsuccessful in her goal so far. Murr has visited the library in the past, and now one of his soul shards resides there; he appreciates her dedication to restore and keep banned books and also her commitment to her gone lover. I envision western and eastern sages wizards would get called to a mission at the library, and it would stir them up. Shy for the fact that hes doing a similar thing except murr isnt dead, faust because the forbidden books include some about what actually happened to him in the past, etc...

heck, i'm complaining here too about fandom nonsense i keep seeing every now and then in the past year and a half that's bugging me again (it is OTP discourse)

tldr it's about the unnecessary aiyusa disrespect and i just get so so tired of seeing it tagged or spoken about with such nasty intent......

people who dislike aiball will do EVERYTHING to avoid calling Yusaku and Ai partners, even when they canonically call each other "saiko no aibo" aka "best partners". even when they canonically live and die for one another because they're irreplaceable to one another. even when they have gone through so much and both pursue a future where they won't ever have to be apart again!

this goes beyond just friends, it's a mutual unconditional love and respect! it's wonderful!

this fact about their bond DOESN'T inherently or automatically make it romantic, you know. yes, it can and is viewed romantically, and i agree (bias). still, your ship preference outside of these two is not threatened by Yusaku and Ai's bond or their importance to one another. so why do people make such a big deal about being disdainful about them?

even if it's not your thing romantically, platonic love can be a really beautiful thing, especially for these two. i really respect and appreciate the people who, when they do prefer Yusaku with someone else, don't see Ai as a nuisance or try to write away the influence and importance in Yusaku's life he holds. they're equals, that's the point of the show, to coexist and see eye to eye...

i think some people need to watch the show again instead of being hateful in the character tags and shipping tags or being covertly disrespectful with the "ew, don't tag as ship!" stuff. y'all really test my patience for real i'm just going to keep pressing the block button i can't deal with the negativity........

i don't even want to get into the "aiyusa is gross because Ai is like an adult" stuff i saw a few months ago. he's literally an artificial intelligence with free will and instinct that was 'born' from Yusaku's suffering and trauma. trying to give him a human age is so incredibly strange. and i guess if you are, go with 10 i guess LOL

All the while main Nagito and Nagiko are just laughing in the background eating popcorn. Just to be clear I treat main Nagito and Protag!Nagito's OTP as "Insert preferred ship here". It could be Komahina. Or it could be something as wild as a resurrected cyborg Yasuke for the Matsukoma diehards.

I do also have this one idea I've mused about for Nagiko's flings. Generally speaking she actually doesn't hold the many Kamukuras of the multiverse in high regard. Feeling that the novelty wears off fast, as once you've met one Kamukura, you've met most of them. Channeling Stillwell from the comic The Boys and thinking like "What have you thought of to do that the lowest speck of humanity couldn't, were they to be granted your level of power?". Being especially unimpressed by the ones that try to assuage their boredom by joining Junko or doing something else she considers equally dull and unproductive.

But there are exceptions to that. Like one Natsumizuru that she took a fondness to. Who had a bit more of a spark in her than a lot of other Kamukuras did, and channeled her talents in more productive ways to stave off boredom. I have this one mental image of Nagiko trolling main Fuyuhiko by not-so-subtly implying she had a thing going on with an alternate superhuman version of his sister. Being all like "Man she was rough, if I didn't have a reinforced skeleton that girl would have demolished my spine."

Komas unite for real HAHAHA, EXACTLY like, the protagonist always gets the best ships in this franchise!! I can't even pick a favorite Saihara ship- I have like 4 favorites?!?!

When laying in bed in the dark got too boring to tolerate anymore, he ended up wandering to the coffee shop a couple blocks from the apartment where he was staying; he grabbed the largest iced latte they had with an extra shot of espresso, and he drank it with the leftover Chinese food in his fridge. It wasn’t an appetizing combo by any means, but it did the job and gave him the energy to shower and do his hair and make himself look somewhat presentable for the crew’s night out.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he’d probably see Shane.
