Limited emotional direction for Rogue so far - which is both pretty standard for a script (you don't really want to limit the range of the actor's performance), but would also check out with the possibility that there are Things About Rogue they don't want public yet.

The "ancient Earth tradition of cosplay" line is missing from the script. When I look back at the transcript now, it does seem fairly obvious that the Doctor's response ("Oh, Rogue. It's when fans dress up as characters that they like") was added after they received the note "not every viewer is going to know what cosplay is." It's telling, though, that they took the opportunity to throw in one more Rogue Says Something Kind Of Suspicious And Weird for the bargain

ok I harped a lot in yesterday's meta on how Rogue doesn't express much sympathy for the Doctor here. Script Rogue seems to strike an interesting balance between Book Rogue letting the Doctor sob in his arms and Episode-As-Aired Rogue barely blinking.

they probably cut the lead-up to this moment (the Doctor asking if there's any possibility the Chuldurs could have shapeshifted into Ruby without killing her) because its exposition wasn't really necessary. but it seems like they could have kept the wordless shots of the Doctor breaking down and Rogue putting a hand on his shoulder. unless they decided they didn't actually want Rogue to come off as too warm here...?

Remember when I said I would explain the wolf lore from my last comic? Well here it is!!

Ex “princess” Zairian Ruby Swan aka Wolf as you know is the daughter of criminals Zander Jim Swan and Aurora Amelia Quinn-Swan. While Zander was a normal human Aurora was a dragon (yes yes I know it’s weird…) when Wolf was younger she loved her dragon side often being in her full dragon form more than her human form.

However after the incident Wolf vowed to keep her dragon nature a secret. For years it worked like a charm. Expect there are some problems with her plan…for her kind of dragon they were a very powerful and bloodthirsty (literally) kind of dragon. They naturally get a kind of thrill after making a kill. But with wolf’s high moral code and human half clashing with her dragon half she hates the idea of killing unless it’s a normal hunt for animals. internally wolf is in a constant battle with herself on top of everything else, as you saw in the last comic it seemed she temporarily lost control…

Before the events of that comic wolf was hit by the strong scent of blood coming from somewhere in the airship. She proceeded to follow the scent only to find a recently deceased body. Instead of informing someone like normal Wolf felt something inside her snap…before she could stop herself she felt her sharp teeth ripping off the arm of that poor toppat…thankfully wolf managed to stop herself before anything else happened. She was trying to get back to her room to reform her human form before Ellie stopped her.

ANYWAYS there’s Wolf’s biggest secret besides her past revealed!!! And I give you all Wolf’s partial form!! OwO

My not so dad (Some dingle pretending to be my dad) stashed me away deep in the monastery where no one was supposed to find me ! But I'm SUPER sneaky guys, and I managed to catch all my cleric classes ! =3 One day I wasn't sneaky enough though , and I got caught snooping =( Not so dad and the senior clerics had been stashing little baby tieflings like me in secret to move us somewhere to do something not very nice. I don't know what exactly, but Noxle and Casmos refused to tell me =0 ( And everyone looks at me pretty weird when I bring it up ! So much frowning ) Where was I ......OH YEAH ! I got caught right.... the old clerics dragged me into another room and branded me with a mark that the Church of Llira (Mah girl and goddess, respect on her name please) reserves for heretics . They didn't want anyone to believe me when I told others what they were doing. It was scary, and it hurt. I'm not going to lie, I had trusted them before this, but I had to do the right thing, even if it hurt. They threw me out with nothing but my robes, and I made the long trek to Neverwinter. I met alot of nice people along the way who complimented my bejweled robe . It has Ruby's and sapphires, and emeralds , and they said they needed some so they could feed their families, or pay a debt. So many people needed help that I didn't have any left by the time I made it to the city guys ! SO crazy =0 I learned my first lesson pretty quick though. ACAB I tried telling the city guards what they saw, but they shook me down for money. I told them no, but they were like "Aralaia, you are a naughty tiefling who will go to jail now" and they put me in the stockades But it's SUPER ok now. My crew found me and freed me ! That's how we met actually. We've had some ups and downs since then but I trust them more than anything in this whole wide world !
