I started watching The Double because of the various things you've posted (especially meta). It was exciting to read your commentary. Then I realized I was skipping reading what you'd written about it, which is a spoilerphobic habit of mine. So it was like yep, gotten me interested.

Just mostly incoherent squeeing noises over here. Love the show. Love Xue Fangfei and Xiao Heng. It's true. They keep getting incredibly cuter when it shouldn't be possible.

Aaaaaaa im glad you’re enjoying it! They truly get cuter with every episode and i’m really enjoying rewatching the show with friends who haven’t seen it yet! It’s so fun watching them make guesses about how the schemes play out.

What kinds of cars would Vasco and Machete drive in the modern au? At least for Machete, I can imagine him stepping out of Mercedes with a pair of high heels on. Maybe a Jeep for Vasco.

Machete can drive but dislikes it, I tend to struggle to imagine him having a car to begin with.

Vasco on the other hand, I keep picturing him with a convertible, a classic sports car of some sort. Preferably banana yellow in color. But I don't know enough about cars to go into more detail than that.

Have you done a post on half-animal/half-cookies? Ive always wondered if that means they have a second species or something... Examples: Cream Ferret, Sorbet Shark, Pinecone, Pancake, Nutmeg Tiger, Fig, Moon Rabbit, Squid Ink, Cream Unicorn, etc. (Excluding werewolf/vampire for obvious reasons)

Not yet, but I should! Those cookies are very interesting.

There's multiple factors that would make a cookie half cookie, half animal, and it isn't just one thing.

Hybrids

Hybrids are cookies who are hybrids of a (non-cookie) animal species. Cookies like Nutmeg Tiger Cookie. Nutmeg Tiger Cookie is a hybrid of a cookie and a Nutmeg Tiger, a race of wild spices. Because of this, she has the upper half of a cookie but the lower half of a Tiger, along with some Tiger traits along her body.

Ingredient Hybrids

Cookies who are not hybrids of another species due to breeding, but due to ingredient mixing. Nutmeg Tiger Cookie is a hybrid because of her parents, but a cookie like Witchberry Cookie is an ingredient hybrid because cat fur fell into her dough when she was being baked. Sometimes its also species related, like with Fig Cookie. Some ingredient Hybrids may be shapeshifters, but not always.

Examples of ingredient hybrids:

Cookies that can turn into animals or animals that can turn into cookies. Cream critters are an example of this. For cookies, it's usually species related (cream critters, haetaes), ingredient hybrids, or magic/association related, as even the cultural beliefs over a certain ingredient can affect a cookie. Examples of shapeshifters are:

Wanted to let you know that after your post about it I finally caved and ironed my damned fabric before doing anything with it and am devastated to admit that it makes all next steps so much easier. As I can't afford a sewing machine I found my fabric stash super daunting but for handsewing the ironed fabric is a game changer!!!!! Jfc why am I this stubborn.

Hehehe 😈 ironing seems like such a boring, menial task, but it really makes a huge difference. And honestly it doesn’t take that long, especially compared to having to trace and cut everything a second time if you fuck it up in the beginning. It’s so worth the tiny bit of extra effort, bc whatever you make will be that much nicer and you will feel that much better wearing/using it.

Dumb headcanon: Remus falls from the ceiling when he's summoned. He has so much fun making the cartoon crashing sfx. And almost everyone lets him fall (to avoid injury, because for some reason they don't expect it, or they're just petty like that *cough*Janus*coughcough*Roman*cough*)

Almost everyone. Virgil makes a point of lining himself up and catching the duke in his arms, bridal style usually. He claims it's so nothing gets broken and no one gets hurt. Remus knows better.

Every single time Virgil catches him he swoons dramatically. Sometimes he'll gush over "his hero" and praise him with smooches. Of course, sometimes he just starts stripping and tries to be seductive. That's when Virgil just drops him if they're not alone.
