They are by no means a meta guide, and are only based off my own personal experiences with these abnos as well as the tactics I personally found to be effective when dealing with them. have the idea of benson and randy being in a shitty motel room and randy decides that maybe he should make a choice its been drivong him nuts it shouldn't but his mind has been running in circles like a dog chained to a tree and he always ends up at the same conclusion he really wants maybe needs benson to fuck him

and so sitting next to benson on the bed he doesnt say anything as he climbs into bensons lap gripping bensons shirt in clenched fists staring as his breathing quickens and benson stares up at him darkly body tense grinds out a what are you doing randy one hand gripping an arm the other gripping randys side hard enough to bruise its suppose to be a threat but to randy it lights his nerves on fire

and so he leans in close hands shaking with sweaty fabric eyes flutter shut and breath stuff in his chest anticipating the feel of the warmth of bensons lips only for his eyes to fly open when instead he gets a brusing grip covering his mouth fingers digging into his cheeks before hes thrown off of benson and onto the floor

he cant even get himself untangles from the side of the bed or call out before bensons slamming the room door behind him without a word the whole situation is very confusing cause hes so sure benson wants the same thing so he makes his way to the peephole and spots benson leaning against the back of the car hugging himself against the freezing wind with a cigarette in his hand and randy cant help but feel guilty another decision hes made for himself bathing in the red glow of the word wrong so he pacing for a moment before grabbing bensons sweater and wrapping one of the few blankets they have around himself heaving a sigh he opens the door

submitted the project that's due today, currently struggling to finish a 3k word art history paper that's due tomorrow, got 9/10 on my graphic design project(s), decided what my autumn tbr will be and my current read matches my mug

a headcanon that is very important to me personally is that mulder and scully’s strides start to change as they settle into their partnership. like even when they’re not around each other. scully’s get longer and mulder’s get shorter so that they can walk side by side easier. maybe in the beginning, mulder is rushing around and scully is always trying to keep up, but he learns to slow down so he can talk and listen while they walk. eventually, they unconsciously adjust and meet in the middle. it’s just one of the things that irons itself out as they grow and change around each other, and their relationship as partners and friends starts to take shape :)

SPOILERS FOR ALIEN ROMULUS

no seriously like spoilers for the ending not just a bit in the middle

It's just a funny (hilarious) bit of foreshadowing but still spoilers

I'm driving home from watching this movie with my mother, and we're both just yapping about how we liked it, and I was suddenly reminded of what I noticed about Isabela Merced's character Kay!

Early on in the movie, we get a shot of her in bed after she tells Rain that she's pregnant, with a flat oval necklace clearly displayed.

This isn't the exact scene, but example:

you can kinda see the necklace once you zoom in

This medal is easily identifiable even from the distance/lack of detail thanks to Catholic guilt! yay! This is a Miraculous Medal (pictured below)

This is a necklace that centers Mary with a whole bunch of lore attached that details how St. Catherine Labouré saw Mary in a vision (twice technically) and the second time was instructed to

 “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck. Those who repeat this prayer with devotion will be, in a special manner, under the protection of the Mother of God. Graces will be abundantly bestowed upon those who have confidence.”

tldr: it's a very common and recognizable representation of Mary, they often have these medals at catholic churches as back when I worked at mine they were literally just sitting in the lobby.

What made me laugh so profusely in my car ride home is that Mary is considered literally THE mother in Christan lore and Kay does in fact give birth at the end of the movie... to what is essentially Weyland-Yutani Jesus.

Technically she took David's goo injection and produced the 'Offspring' (apparently what the horrifying human/xenomorph is called) (I prefer W-Y Jesus)

This is a wonderful bit of foreshadowing for the ending sequence, coupled with the engraving of Romulus and Remus and the Capitoline wolf, as well as the painting that was zoomed in on right before of a mother and child. And kinda as well to the whole thing about Weyland-Yutani trying to 'play God' with humanity's evolution.

But, on a larger more franchise-wide scale, this foreshadowing continues on with some of the themes from the previous two movies concerning origins and beginnings, as the whole Mary/Jesus thing is technically speaking, the 'origin/beginning' part of the New Testament. This is shown very plainly in the titles (Prometheus, Covenant, Romulus) which are all pulled from various origin stories - Greek, Abrahamic, and Roman. Prometheus stole fire, the covenants in the Torah/Pentateuch, and the founding of Rome. All different stories about the growth of humanity, ranging from how to live all the way up to founding empires. These ideas somewhat parallel the actual events of the movies.

B/c we watch David - and therefore Weyland-Yutani - discover the goo, experiment on it, learn how to interact with it, and then attempt to build a new empire with it.

It's a very messy analogy and kinda? does not fit with the Mary thing in Romulus, but in very broad strokes it ties in well enough, which for the whole confusing Prometheus/Covenant situation is par for the course.

Overall, Alien: Romulus is an amazing addition to the franchise and at the risk of sounding cheesy is literally a breath of fresh air. Right down to the pacing of the movie, it's classic Alien. I loved it, and even if you haven't seen any of the alien movies or even if you've only seen the first, and even if you have these spoilers, it's a fantastic experience!

(and for all the alien: isolation lovers there's such a cute nod to the game in the movie)

Okay, listen. There is only one way Buddie’s realisation scene in 8b can go, and it has to happen AFTER Eddie’s moved to El Paso.

Picture this:

Eddie, sitting on his couch in his new house. The one that was supposed to be a fresh start. He’s got Christopher’s drawings on the fridge, his abuela’s recipes in the kitchen, everything he thought would make this place feel like home. But instead, Eddie feels wrong, like he’s left something crucial behind. He’s staring at the walls, at the empty space beside him, at the way this house feels off. He should be happy. He should be fixed. But he’s not.

Cut to Buck, back in LA,. Buck who’s lying on his couch, head tilted back, exhaling sharply because why does this feel like a breakup? And why does he feel like something vital was ripped out of his chest? And it’s confusing as hell because people have left him before. Becasue Buck has experienced abandonment before. Abby left. Taylor left. His parents were never really there. He’s been through this before, so why does this one feel different? Why does it feel like something vital inside him is missing?

And then—

BAM, MOMENT OF REALISATION

Cue the cheesy as fuck montage of all their less than platonic moments, with let her go by passenger playing in the background (because what do we love 911 for if not the weirdly specific soundtrack)
