BEHOLD. Jason Narvy being fucking majestic for the world to see because Mr. Schrier graced us with the evidence.
The photo is from @skyland2703 because she knew I would cherish it forever--and she was right.

Thing that baffles me the most is that out of the plots they lazily copied and pasted in Samurai from shinkenger, they didn’t do the Richard brown ep. It was right there, easy material for bulk or spike to have a moment of, ya know, being a samurai what they’re training for.
Cause we can just copy the fisherman ep without the servants but not that ep, nope.
It just baffles me man what they pick or don’t pick , a layer of laziness never seen before
well that was because 95% of bulk and spike's scenes were filmed in LA (?) while the rest of the ranger stuff was shot in new zealand like usual, because, again, rushed production and paul schrier wasn't able to leave the country for six months on such short notice
it would've made sense but it wouldn't have been good, and bulk really had no business being in samurai in the first place. if they put any forethought into the idea they'd hold off on bringing him back until the ACTUAL 30th anniversary? not that it'd improve anything anyways

i am rewatching power rangers turbo (pretty passively, it's on my second screen at work while i do actual job things), and while it's never going to be my favorite season, i'm not feeling the active distain that has made me avoid the rewatch for the last 10ish years. it's not great, but when the new cast arrives, i'll be 100% bought in again... i remember that being such a breath of fresh air.
that said, it's pretty objectively funny that they had paul schrier and jason narvy do adr for the bloopers when the chimps on set where goofing around (why oh, why, did they ever put live chimps on the power rangers set).

so.....Hyperforce!
For those of you who don’t know, Hyperforce was a Power Rangers-themed RPG session hosted by Renegade Studios around....2018-ish.  They got some pretty notable people - such as the Sudarso brothers, Paul Schrier, Andre the Black Nerd, Christina Vee, and Meghan Camarena - to play the members of an all-new original team of Rangers in an all-new original “season,” typically bringing in a different PR alumni to cameo as their character per episode.  The show didn’t manage to greenlight a second season, but it got pretty popular in the fandom, and with Melissa Flores back writing for the comics, it looks like she’s using the opportunity to basically give Hyperforce the second season it missed out on through this event - starting with their own Unlimited one-shot.
My thoughts on this and Hyperforce itself are......mixed.  But I’ll wait until the full book is out before I talk about that more.  These are just the previews!  So let’s talk about the previews
Tumblr media
- Hi Chloe you’re looking and acting very Ranger Slayer here.  Ranger Slayer.........where is she...........I miss her
Tumblr media
- yeah that’s probably a good idea because i am NOT rewatching all of that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- so here’s a pretty decent summary of the first season.  I’ll be interested to see how well this book goes over with non-fandom people, because while obviously this fills in what Hyperforce is and where we are now with it, it’s obviously missing the finer details of what made Hyperforce endearing to fans in the first place.  But we’ll get to that when we get to that.  At the very least this confirms they’re in an alternate dimension/timeline, at least
Tumblr media
- Sorry guys but if you involve Jen in this you’re not beating the “this event is just trying to be Shattered Grid 2.0″ allegations
Tumblr media
- don’t keep making Ranger Slayer comparisons don’t keep making Ranger Slayer comparisons
Tumblr media
- the Battlizer design is still cool though, i’ll give them that.
Tumblr media
- I don’t really remember the full context for this since by the end I was kind of burnt out with the show but I’m preeeeeeetty sure the twist is that she’s not really on the bad guys’ side, right.  right.  because I’m trying SO HARD not to keep making Ranger Slayer comparisons

The Congressional Equality Caucus just recently condemned the National Defense Authorization Act, a military funding bill including a provision to ban transgender healthcare from being covered by TRICARE (military insurance). The treatments are still permitted for cisgender dependents, and there is presumably still coverage for unnecessary and often harmful surgeries on intersex infants.
The Equality Caucus statement said it was an attempt to strip medically necessary healthcare from children.
Anyways, like half of them just voted for it.

@shinobicyrus replied:
Oh God I completely forgot about that weird arc. What do you think was going on behind the scenes that the show just decided to replace two actors with Chimpanzees for 15 entire episodes?
I have no idea, but according to his IMDB page, Paul Schrier – the guy who plays Bulk – is credited as director for three of the sixteen episodes in which he voices a chimpanzee, so it must be a fun story.
(Oddly, Jason Narvy, the guy who played Skull, also appears to have an assistant director credit, though not for any of those episodes.)
My local network habitually aired Power Rangers episodes all out of order when I was a kid – we were lucky if both parts of a two-parter ended up airing consecutively, much less anything further-reaching – so I always had a fuzzy idea of how some of the plot points lined up.
For example, I didn't realise until just now that the gag where Bulk and Skull got turned into chimpanzees wasn't a one-off thing? Apparently they just stayed that way for the next fifteen episodes, and continued to serve as the show's comic relief B-plot in spite of being monkeys, voice-acted Garfield style by their regular human actors?
Now I'm wondering what else the out-of-order airing made me fail to connect the dots for.

Listen they caught lightening in a bottle casting Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy as Bulk and Skull
There has never been a more iconic duo in the 30 years this show's been on air

HYPERFORCE APPRECIATION POST!  It’s been 5 years since my favorite Neo Saban season first premiered.  Thought I’d throw some photos up to celebrate. We got 4 of the 6 Rangers together at Power Morphicon this year, and I threw some old photos with the cast and crew from when the show was still airing as well.  Just gonna keep twiddling my thumbs, wishing for a season 2 or follow up of some kind to resolve the cliffhanger they left things on.
What I don’t get is there’s that Power Rangers TTRPG they released last year, wouldn’t it make perfect sense to do another season of Hyperforce to demo those rules to a large audience?  I’ve even heard Hasbro might be making an alternate Rangers TTRPG using the D&D ruleset, that would be a perfect opportunity too.  All I’m saying is the pieces are all there, someone just needs to sign off on it.
