Now I get the chance to explore that world through Zuko #Kya won't be a recurring character. She's connected to her home and the Old Tribe so I don't think we'll be seeing much of her in the future #But we don't need to. She's a vision of home. A past you cannot return to. The spirits of loved ones who watch over you.#She makes an impact on the present through her connection with the past. And I think that's beautiful.

The world if people stopped applying their understanding of "conservatism" and "religion/christianity" through a very modern, deeply American view onto Death Note (a manga from the Early-mid 2000s which is very much set in the cultural and societal context of early-mid 2000s Japan and all that entails):

#death note #fandom wank #i just be ramblin #listen I get it there's christian imagery #it's not bad to go over what that entails and whatnot. fun even #but beyond some potential parallels and symbols you have to understand that this is a japanese story set in japan in the early-mid 2000s #(and later an imagined 'future' from there)#you are not understanding the story if you're placing the characters on a political spectrum of beliefs based on what conservatism looks #like to you #you're superimposing your personal modern experiences and your country's societal/cultural state onto Death Note and it's characters and #calling it 'a reading'#I genuinely don't know how many more times I can endure people acting like Soichiro Yagami and Teru Mikami have the exact same set of #beliefs and religion and standards as a Southern USA republican/ultra conservative super christian #Or hell. People assuming that Light Yagami can't ever be relatable because someone like Light looks to them like a teacher's wet dream of a #perfect student who is always working hard and studying #when the truth is that while Light is the top student in Japan at one point‚ everything he is doing is within the realm of expectation for #'good' Japanese students. Not exceptional or supernatural or beyond dedicated. Good.#This is a manga where the time period and the setting and society at the time are deeply important #And you will never hope to have an understanding by forcing it to conform to what 'normal' society looks like to you #relating to character's experiences can go beyond relating and end up in territory where you're superimposing your experiences onto their #fictional reality and calling it canon #edit (because people put some good tags on this post): even though I was kind of vague about it this also goes for assuming that #christianity is the only possible religion any characters could be into #the options aren't either athiesm or christianity. there are other big religions in Japan #and in the same way Christianity colors American society and experiences even for people who have never practiced‚ so goes the way society #and people's general beliefs are influenced by Japan's major religions #the person in the tags who mentioned Shinto gets a cookie

Me, enjoying the return of my favourite campaign, knowing something like season one couldn't have kept going on in the same way, pleased that they found a way to pivot away from the heavy grief filled topics that it was heading towards, and that the entire cast is happy about the changes they've made

#listen. i know. i liked Laboosh and this version of Chuckles really grew on me too #but the mood on the ship had become so heavy #when I was watching it last year i hadnt had any specific spoilers but when i got to episode 10 i knew i was about to lose some fav charrys #and i procrastinated on it because i was already grieving a very close loved one from my real life #all while doing a job that i had to takeover doing because it was a job that loved one used to do and i was stepping into her shoes #i love when media can make me feel these emotions- when i can get attached to a character and feel feels for them #but having so much grief so fully encasing these characters that started out fun personally would've made this campaign so so hard #there was just too much #I'm still watching the stream and they're doing A&C rn and they really said it right just now #Laboosh and Chuckles and Pyke and Rett were oil and water #the two pairings didn't work together well and Derek and Mikey both had issues with their own characters #and Rich and Andy both really love their characters and the whole campaign is named for Rett's ship #so it just made sense to reboot it #in this version all of them are alive- dandy kavir laboosh chuckles- they're all still alive and out there #and they've said its possible to have stories with any of those characters again in the future #there is so much potential here tbh #anyways~#tk speaks #legends of avantris #stardust rhapsody #stardust rhapsody spoilers #I'm just happy its back

I hope the protoframes remain relevant even after this story arc for the Drifter concludes, but I also recognize how complicated things would get with how many characters they could keep trying to make stay relevant, leading to a Konoha 13 Naruto type situation where we have too many relevant characters from Umbra & Ordis all the way to Kaya Velasco.

Introducing... 'Till Our Blood Runs Cold

This is a passion project of mine that I started over the summer with my main OCs.

It's a dystopian world that collapsed due to warfare from accelerated technology. Researchers and officials rebuilt society, and decided to bring it under one ruler of a major dictator, with directors of each of the six territories to allow peaceful order.

These territories took over the previous continents, under the names of:

Drait | Previously North America

Shrapnek | Previously South America

Volvos | Previously Europe

Kalamity | Previously Asia

Ghista | Previously Africa

Thantia | Previously Australia

Oplin (Antarctica) had once been one of them, but differences regarding order made them an outcast, a rebel territory renamed to Fell.

The main plot regards around rehabilitation schooling districts.

When a teenager reaches their sophomore year, they are required to take a mandatory test at the end of the year to prove they're fit for the society of Astray (the world). While taking the test, security footage found of them is checked over to ensure they aren't a threat.

The test is like a personality quiz, certain results call for certain potential behaviors, according to the system. Failure to pass the test results in placement in a S.A.N.E (Secure, Acclimation, Nascent, and Effectiveness) Schooling District. Depending on threat level and failure to comply, they may be placed in one of the most effective ones in Drait.

If completed the test, but fail the security check, one will also be placed in the district.

Government action may place an individual in a district, but parents can also call if they want a certain part of their child fixed. The government usually always complies with what they wish.

Ages 14-17 are placed in the district until they have turned 18. If they are not deemed 'fixed' by their 18th birthday, they are terminated on Termination Day, a public gathering to watch the traitorous youth perish.

This story is a W.I.P and may change.
