Culture Shock

Look, Danny knows not all of the ghosts from the Zone are human, ok?

Skulker is an alien, Wulf is from another dimension, and Frostbite's ancestral world don't even have planets.

You can meet any ghost from any world and any time period, it's only one of the infinite weird things about the Realms.

So it wasn't a big deal when Danny asked Walker to teach him his mother tongue. Just an attempt to reduce the communication error with the guy, and maybe an effort to get to know his Zone neighbors better.

Generic ghost speak can only get them so far after all.

And ok, Danny wasn't expecting to get actual language books and fucking homeworks from the warden, but whatever. Walker is stuffy like that. It's actually pretty sweet of him to give Danny all of these materials, and Danny can appreciate that.

It might have, unfortunately, slipped Danny's mind to ask more about Walker's origins. Although to be fair, learning an alien language wouldn't be a problem normally, it shouldn't be.

If not for that cursed Fenton luck.

How in the realms is Danny supposed to know Walker is Kryptonian??? Walker acts nothing like Superman, how is Danny supposed to connect the two dots?!

Shit, how do he even start to explain this when Superman is knocking on his dorm window??

every once in a while I’ll be possessed by the urge to write something for these two, and never finish it 🤷‍♂️ Ghost POV, pre-relationship, pathetic fluff

Sometimes, in a fantasy he never allows himself to entertain for very long, he fucks Soap slow in a cabin somewhere, lethargic little rolls of his hips spurring quiet sighs of pleasure from his perfect fucking mouth. Outside, it’s woodsy, or there’s rolling fields, just green somehow, he doesn’t much care, and thin sunlight and morning dew combine to mist up the windows. Johnny’s all golden skin and soft moans underneath him, one hand tangled in the short hairs at his nape, the other running up and down the planes of his back and the thought of it makes something cave in inside his chest.

It’s a pretty dream, and it fits in his brain like a circle in a square hole. Simon Riley isn’t made for pretty things, which never used to bother him much as he never sought them out in the first place. His hands were rough and mangled, deft at wielding a weapon and little else after so long in the service. And John Mactavish is far from a blushing virgin needing his hand held, but the feeling he inspires is all too delicate to ever do much more than prod at helplessly.

An age ago, Simon remembers using these hands of his to sweep floors and spray down mirrors at a motel, his shitty attempt at scrounging up some last minute cash for his ma before he shipped out and left his old life behind for good. Wasn’t much good at that either, but it was passable for a 16-year-old who was tall enough to look 20, and enough for a motel manager who could tell the difference but was too high and stingy to care.

In a fit of insanity, he thinks about cleaning Soap’s apartment, giving the kitchen countertops a cursory wipe, changing the sheets on his bed. There’s a spark of lust attached to the latter mental image, but its almost an afterthought, not substantial enough to save himself from embarrassment and he groans, rolling over to mash his face into the mattress.

It’s all a bit fucking pathetic, really. Simon Riley, resident bogeyman and otherwise consummate professional, fantasising about being his sergeant’s damn house maid.

love the fact that percy and annabeth both think that the title of gf/bf doesn’t truly encapsulate their relationship. love that annabeth calls percy “her friend” to damasen in tartarus because she thought the title “boyfriend” didn’t cover all that percy was to her and that “friend” was more accurate. they are dating but they are best friends above everything else and god isn’t that just so beautiful

brother's best friend suna who barks out a laugh when you brazenly ask him for a cigarette, knowing you never smoked one before (not under your brother’s watchful eyes) but here you are, tugging on his sleeve and eyes nervously flicking between him and the party that’s bustling inside. you will never hear the end of it if osamu or atsumu—worse: both—caught you outside in some dark corner with suna, begging him for a smoke. they just don’t get that you’re not a fucking baby anymore.

but suna? suna doesn’t care. or at least he acts like it. he takes a drag of his cigarette, the cherry red tip gleaming in the dark, his big hand encircling your wrist and pulling you closer until you’re nearly standing between his legs. you can feel his body heat, smell the cologne, cigarettes and sweat on him and it’s alluring.

“be good for me.”

his voice is quiet and sultry against the shell of your ear. idle fingers trace across the puls point on your wrist before letting go, cupping one side of your face instead. you have to tilt back your head to catch his gaze—famished, yearning, something dark, too. his thumb brushes over your bottom lip, coaxing your mouth open for him.

suna has a feeling you’d swallow anything he’d put on your tongue when he softly exhales the smoke into your mouth, slender fingers tapping your chin, a silent command to keep it in until he says so. your breath is a little shuddered when you exhale but you don’t pull away, fingers twisting in the front of his shirt, more, more, more, until the half-smoked cigarette is crushed and forgotten under his boot and tongue sliding against yours in a feverish kiss.
