may or may not be procrastinating.. how about another excerpt of pregnant Lance?
--
They had a party and Lance hated the food. He wanted real food. He was half thinking he could eat one of the locals, even.
“Lance, we can't eat the locals,” Hunk said, aghast.
“Just one?” Lance said, quietly because said locals were everywhere. “Hunk, I need real food! Protein!”
“No, Lance!”
Frustrated, Lance took a walk. He ended up in the bridge, gazing at the star map either Allura or Coran had left up. The door opened, and he glanced back to see Red walk in. Black had a more decorated suit. Probably to indicate some sort of rank in whatever secret organization they were from.
“Hey,” Red said as he came to a stop beside him. “You okay?”
“Fine,” Lance mumbled. “Allura says she can't drop us off on Earth. That it's not a priority.” He huffed. “A-and Hunk won't let me eat one-one of the l-locals!” The tears were sudden and numerous. He blubbered incoherently, and Red watched him, either frozen or apathetic.
This happened sometimes. Lance would become overwhelmed with emotion for no reason at all. And it seemed now was the time for a meltdown.
“A local?” Red said, and it was impossible to tell what he was feeling with that modulated voice and that stupid mask. He held out a hand, low. “Those little guys?”
Lance nodded, still blubbering.
Red dithered for a moment. And suddenly, he pulled out a knife.
“I'll get you one,” Red said. “Please don't cry.” Then he turned around like he really was about to go kill a local for Lance.
“You can't kill them!” Lance shouted, grabbing him by the arm and tugging him to a stop. “They're people!”
Turning back to him, Red was silent. The knife lowered slightly and gestured with his other hand.
“You said you wanted one!”
“I want one!” Lance cried. “But I don't want to kill them! I want real food!” He stomped his foot. “I hate that stupid goo and the food tastes so weird!”
Red looked down at his knife.
“Maybe there's something else on the planet we can hunt,” he said. “A something that's not people, but that tastes similar to home.”
Wiping at his messy face, Lance said, “Really?”
Red nodded vigorously.
“Yeah!”
Lance threw himself at him, hugging him tightly. As soon as his bump pressed against him, Red went stiff all over, but Lance did not let him go. This hug was happening, dammit! Red could fucking deal just this once.
“Thank you,” he breathed. “Thank you so much!”
“Anytime,” Red murmured. And after a few seconds, he lifted his arms and hugged Lance back, his hold gentle around him.
Once he got his fill, Lance pulled back and smiled delightedly at him.
“Let's go now,” he said excitedly, grabbing Red's hand. He pulled Red along, his other hand steady on his belly.

tl;dr:  Shiro’s family are people he would not only die for, but people he has unwavering belief in and has given a part of who they are, to create who he is, and likewise, they contain a part of who he is, within them.
Shiro is second generation American. I headcanon Voltron to be set roughly around 100 - 150 years into the future. Shiro’s parents were drawn out to America to join the rest of their extended family who also made the move throughout the years, though leaving behind Shiro’s grandparents on his father’s side. Shiro’s mother was pregnant with Shiro’s older sister, Toshiko, during their move. Shiro was born 3 years later, in Sacremento, where they’d settled down. ( I also imagine migration is a lot less of a hassle in this time ~ but I’ll make a post of how I imagine the VLD post-modern world would differ to our current reality later. )
The four of them were extremely close. Shiro grew up loved and supported and getting up to mischief with his big sister. Shiro was extremely close to his mother when he was young. His father was a little strict and slow to understand some Western constructs, but was overall open-minded if he could see that it was what was best for his children. Shiro could confide in his sister literally anything under the sun. This bond only began to fracture when Shiro was diagnosed with MND*1 at age 16, during his first year at GG.
VLD doesn’t mention Shiro’s family at all. Not at the Kerberos launch, not in his visualisation during lion bonding, and not when the group return to Earth. These facts are what has prompted the headcanon that Shiro’s parents and sister are no longer alive.
~I haven’t hashed out the circumstances around this too much but here’s a brief timeline of the events -       He loses his mother at age 6 due to terminal illness -       He loses his father at age 20 due to a hit and run -       His sister is caught in the Galra cross-fire, leaving behind her husband and two year old son*2.
Shiro is no stranger to loss, starting with the fading memories of his mother. Life keeps taking and taking from him. Every moment of success or happiness, seems only to be rewarded with pain and more suffering. And this cycle continues for him as we are introduced to him in VLD i.e. reaching the edge of the solar system - only to be captured by the Galra, finally escaping and returning to Earth – only to be launched back into space and having to fight in an intergalactic war, finding a semblance of peace with new friends and new purpose – only to die, is brought back to life – only to live with the debilitating guilt and dysphoria of living in another’s body. And so on.
A year or so after his father’s death is when I headcanon that Adam proposed to Shiro. The accident was a reminder of how unguaranteed life really is, and they already felt like they didn’t have enough time with the imminent worsening of Shiro’s illness. Adam was Shiro’s family. Adam made Shiro happy. At this point, Shiro had begun to notice the pattern of happiness and loss, and a part of him was expecting to lose Adam. (This may or may not have played a minor part in Shiro’s decision to go on the mission. Just a minor part, but significant enough to mention, all the same).
Shiro always had a close friend in Keith. There was something in him that called out to Shiro, and his gut instinct turned out to be right. The fact that they both understood loss beyond their years must’ve helped the understanding they had with each other, though they never spoke about it beyond the conversation we saw in VLD about Keith’s father. Keith is Shiro’s family. While in space, this bond only strengthens as they face the hardships of war and hard decisions together. Keith becomes an irreplaceable part of Shiro’s life.
Pidge, Hunk, Lance, Allura, and Coran are an unlikely group of people that are thrown into Shiro’s life path but find a place nestled in the twists and curves of it. Without a common cause to fight for, they may never have even met, let alone become a united front, an understanding forming between them that can come only from shared experience, impenetrable. But life isn’t about what doesn’t happen, or what could’ve happened; it’s about what does happen and it’s outside of your control. There’s a closeness he feels with them that can’t be manufactured by any other means apart from trusting someone with his life, and having them trust him of the same.
He feels a special closeness with Allura. She, too, has suffered and lost, in greater quantities than even Shiro can fathom. She, too, has had leadership placed upon her, based sheerly on the fact that there is no one else to carry the burden. Sometimes they butted heads, but they always believed in each other, and more importantly, they believed and wished wholeheartedly for the same future. Their bond strengthened when Shiro’s soul passed through Allura to enter his new body – something that also allowed him to receive Allura’s Altean crystal as the energy source for his cybernetic arm, and perhaps even pilot the Atlas as a mecha-tron. Allura was    is Shiro’s family.
In summary, Shiro’s family are people he would not only die for, but people he has unwavering belief in and has given a part of who they are, to create who he is, and likewise, they contain a part of who he is, within them.
*1 Please see Shiro’s illness headcanon - to be linked. *2 I didn’t want to stray too far from canon, but I’m also holding onto the headcanon of Shiro having a sister. So in my canon, he asks Commander Iverson about Toshiko when the crew return to Earth who informs him of her fate ~ he doesn’t find out about his nephew until later. In any non-canon AUs, Toshiko is alive.

Voltron AU with Keith’s sister
19 years ago as they say, Keith was borna couple months before that Krolia landed on earth after finding the blue lion after fell in love with Tex (Keiths dad) then 3 months after Keith being born the galra find the blue lion and to save the person she loves most she left to join the fight once more.
8 years later Tex dies in a fire from rescuing a family, leaving keith to be an orphan.... starting his miserable life until he meets Shiro and starts his adventure that will lead to being a paladin of Voltron.
Yet during all this time about 3 months after leaving earth, she rejoins the blades and gets a check up they told her she was pregnant - galra's don't need as much recovery time... their bodies are different. - then 9 months after that... or so a sweet little girl was born... keith sister - and now that tex wasn't involved in the name picking she was named a sweet galran name  Zayda
She was raised with the blades and trained from a young age, Krolia stayed on base with her until 3 months after she was born and then rejoined the fight keeping to one week long missions to not be away for too long from her. When Ulaz caught up with Voltron and met the paladins, he emediatly recognised the resemblance and reported back to Kolivan that he had found Krolia's son. In space, as a paladin. They knew he would eventailly surface they just never predicted these surcumstances. When his sister got a hold of the info Kolivan told her she was to stay put until Krolia got the news and made contact. But she knew that her mom wouldn't be in contact for a while as she was undercover. So as they were planing the big 'fight' againts Zarkons fleet at the end of season 2 she decided that it was time, as this fight could put a large dent in ending Zarkons rule.
So after the big attempt during one of the missions between the blades and the lions she snuck onboard and made it onto the castle of lions. After the missions slowed down she introduced herself as a comunicator between the two. When Kolivan found out on a breefing session where she was present he was furious but she managed to tell him that she was here now and if he ordered her back it could send the wrong message and he would have to explain himself, so he let her be.  She intergrated with the team easily - shiro didn't die he was just in a coma - she helped keith through his grief, and they became close. Lance suspected the truth of her tale as he saw the simmilarities, but felt it wasn't his place to voice them (eventhough he's keiths boyfriend ;)) When shiro woke up, keith started becoming interested in the blades organisation and Kolivan offered to have him join a couple of missions to get the feel of it as his training level could be helpfull (even though he was already the black paladin). She incouraged him into joining the blades and they went on a couple missions together. She did her best never to touch his blade in fear of activating it and having to explain that without her mother present, even though it was hers too.
  He took on a mission to collect and extract Krolia (That was supposed to be Zayda’s, but she got involved and told Kolivan it was time) but in the fight after having found out who she is to him she got ingured and he brought her back to the castle of lions. she did not go with him on mission and would have been ready to take Lance side in red if needed be. Krolia is placed in a healing pod as Keith explained what happened to the team, they ask who she was and when he says my mother she cries out and runs to the healing pods. The team looks confused and keith follows after her where he learns exactly who she is. Lance shows up and confirm his suspecions that she is indeed his sister, she tells him to give her his blade and shows that she can activate it. He is stunned and demands the full tale. At the end of it he states only that their father died without knowing he had a daughter, thats when she learns of her fathers death and can't imagine what that will do to their mother. Keith holds her as she weeps in his arms. The team then joines them and Lance fills them in as the siblings wait for their mother to wake.

*Slides in on a office chair* Now that you shared some of your HaaH headcanons for Shiro and Hunk, can you do Lance and Lotor?
Didn’t want to post these until I finally had some time to update them a bit and trim out spoilers, but I got a second last night, so here you are:
HaaH Lance and Lotor headcanons:
(Under the cut to save everyone’s dash)
First, a warning: Neither one of these characters’ backstories or plot event headcanons remotely line up with the show, one because I originally wrote most of this stuff around the time season 2-3 was being released and two, because I stopped watching Voltron after season 6 and have no intention of watching the rest of the show due to my dislike for the directions the writing took. I went back and updated some stuff, such as the names of some of Lance’s siblings, to more closely match what came later in the show… but for the rest… I’m just gonna do my own thing and pretend canon does not exist.
Lance:
- The literal definition of “rich as fuck.” When relaxations on economic policy were passed in Cuba that increased opportunities for private business, Lance’s grandfather made a solid deal for three massive sugar refineries. Today, artisanal coffee houses across the world utilize the sugar refined in Lance’s family’s factories.
- Grew up in a giant villa on the peninsula just outside the town of Varadero, on a sprawling property that included a long stretch of beachfront and individual bungalows for visiting family members and the family’s several live-in staff members.
- The whole family is incredibly down to earth despite this. Lance’s aunt and grandmother insist on having a hand in every family meal, Lance’s parents always make time to be involved in the children’s activities, and Lance was taught from a very young age never to take advantage of people, regardless of their position in the world.
- Lance is the baby of his immediate family by almost ten years. He was an accident that occurred after Lance’s mother believed she was too old to become pregnant. Of course his parents never treated Lance like an accident and loved him, but still, Lance has never been able to shake the idea that he wasn’t planned—and therefore he wasn’t wanted.
- He has four older siblings, two sisters and two brothers.
- All of Lance’s siblings are extremely successful in their careers. Lance’s oldest sibling, his sister Veronica, is a captain of the Cuban Navy and commands the impressive warship Audaz. Lance’s second oldest sibling, his brother Yuniel, is a decorated conservational ecologist working to protect Matanzas’ native forests. Lance’s third sibling, his brother, Marco, is a famous solo folk musician who made it big in Cuba. Rachel, Lance’s closest sibling, runs an immersion-based cultural heritage museum that preserves the rich and complicated history of Cuba and its people.
- In short—Lance grew up surrounded by the rampant success of his older siblings, watching as they excelled at everything they pursued—which just bred a greater and greater sense of insecurity in him, as he feared he would never be able to measure up.
- On Lance’s eighth birthday, in an attempt to cheer up his very depressed youngest son, Lance’s father dragged the family’s telescope down to the beach so that they could watch a space shuttle launching from the cape in Florida. At first Lance couldn’t work up the slightest interest, but when he finally saw the huge plume of the shuttle, arcing off into the unknown depths of space, he had a Moment™. Lance knew, right then and there, exactly what he was going to do with his life, something that none of his siblings had ever achieved: he was going to go into space and explore worlds unknown.
- Lance decided that he had, absolutely HAD, to go to Galaxy Garrison when he grew up. This part worried his parents, who pointed out that Garrison was not only in another country but also a solely English-speaking school and extremely competitive. Nonetheless, Lance was determined that he would not settle for anything less than the absolute best.
- Was totally that space obsessed kid. Still thinks Black Holes are the coolest thing in the universe. His parents bought so much “Astronaut” ice cream that they probably kept that entire industry afloat.
- Lance attended Garrison’s summer Astrocamp in Arizona when he was nine. Quickly made friends with his cabin-mate, Hyrum Tava. The nickname “Hunk” came about from a slip-up when Lance tried to compare his new friend to one of his favorite American cartoon characters, the Incredible Hulk.
- Even after leaving the Astrocamp, Lance and Hunk stayed close friends, exchanging frequent emails and phone calls, which helped Lance stay on top of memes popular trends back in the states.
- Shiro was Lance’s cabin leader at the Astrocamp, and his kindness and exciting stories about actually visiting space(!!) made a huge impression on Lance. Lance… may or may not have had a celebrity shrine to Shiro made of photos and news clippings taped to his wall for several years. Whatever, every kid does it and he took it down eventually, gosh!
- Identifies as bisexual, but has never successfully dated anyone, male or female. Due to several bad experiences and close calls, Lance doesn’t talk about his sexuality or express any attraction to men except around people he is extremely comfortable with. Hunk has known for years, of course. (In fact, it was Lance’s struggle with his feelings that helped Hunk develop strong sympathy for LGBT people, despite the fact that his religion is very against it.)
- Never had a real kiss. Might be just a tiny bit desperate to have a real first kiss.
- Also might buy a bit too much into the idea of needing to be stereotypically attractive to fit in. Although his nightly beauty regime is now a comforting routine, it originally stemmed from Lance being extremely self-conscious about his looks. He’s more comfortable about his body than he used to be, but he still frequently compares himself negatively against others; do you know what kind of hell it is to have to share a locker room with people like Shiro?
- Cries at the drop of a hat. Sad book? Sad movie? Abandoned kitten? Dropped something on his toe? Tears times ten thousand. Lance was never pressured by his family to “man up;” in fact, he was always encouraged to empathize, so Lance is extremely sensitive to others’ feelings. (He and Hunk are a great fit in this regard.) He can perceive even minute changes in people’s emotions and is always ready to cheer up people who are down.
- He can’t read Keith for crap though. Not really his fault. Keith’s a literal alien.
- Lance’s extreme empathy actually backfires on him. Because being sensitive to others is second nature to him, it’s often hard for Lance to remember that not everyone is as perceptive as he is. Lance has, many times, mistaken the other paladins’ obliviousness for indifference. Everyone on the ship cares deeply about Lance and would never want him to feel bad about himself—but not everyone on the ship is perceptive enough to notice when Lance’s insecurities are affecting him.
- Wasn’t put in the cargo pilot classes at Garrison because of his flight test scores—most green cadets have zero flight experience and all do pretty badly at first. Lance was placed in cargo class because he scored too high on a combat sensitivity test, indicating that he was a poor fit mentally for becoming a soldier. Fighting monstrous looking aliens is one thing, but Lance would have coped very, very badly if he’d ever been required to kill another human being.
- Struggled to fit in at Garrison. After the crushing disappointment of ending up in cargo class, Lance also dealt with a lot of people treating him like an outsider because he was an international student. “Why is someone from Cuba trying to join the U.S. military? Are you a spy?”
- Couple that with the complicated student visa process and how his status as an international student might affect his ability to take part in Garrison-sanctioned internships and cross-border activities, and Lance felt utterly alienated at Garrison in his first few months.
- May… or may not have done exactly what his parents taught him not to do by looking for a scapegoat to take out his frustrations on. Keith, the lone wolf, ace pilot pretty boy who was too cool to even talk to the rest of the cadets (really thought he was too good to even make eye contact with Lance, huh?!) was an obvious target. Keith had every single thing that Lance had ever wanted in his whole life—the combat class, the talent, the prestige, the respect, the effortless looks—and he didn’t even seem happy to have it!
- Lance had never hated anyone before in his entire life, but Lance hated Keith—Keith basically came to stand in for every obstacle in Lance’s way, every mocking insult thrown Lance’s way, every harsh reminder from the professors that he’d never even be close to good enough, never measure up when someone like that existed… Lance started to honestly believe that the only way he’d ever be able to achieve his entire life goal was if Keith was taken out of the picture—something that proved unfortunately true when Lance was bumped up to combat class the moment Keith went missing from Garrison.
- Lance never actually said any of this stuff to Keith’s face before Keith left Garrison (Lance dreaded his parents finding out he’d been rude), but he would shit-talk Keith to anyone who would listen, a bad habit that was reinforced by people actually accepting Lance more when he started gossiping and spreading rumors than when he’d just tried to be genuinely nice.
- Even though he’d like to repair his relationship with Keith now that they’re teammates, Lance has no idea how to do that after so much time has passed. He really has no clue how to treat Keith normally after building him up into such a bitter rival. It’s… a work in progress.
- A big fan of RPG games and roleplaying. Definitely gets the most in-character when it comes to Monsters and Mana. His favorite thing about meeting new cultures is discovering nifty space items that look like key items from video games. Used to play old school RPGs with his cousins every afternoon. Playing with Pidge is extremely nostalgic for him.
- Has a host of other hobbies that don’t get much use inspace but are nevertheless impressive: he can surf, dive, and was part of a traditional dance group all the up until he left for Garrison. He doesn’t tend to think much of his hobbies as they’re not exactly practical skills you need every day in a space war, but the other members of Team Voltron are quietly impressed whenever they’re reminded of the cool things Lance can do.
- Lance has the strongest bond with his lion of any of the paladins. His connection with Blue is so innate that he can actually activate Blue’s abilities from outside his lion.
- The first one of the paladins to transform his bayard and the only one whose bayard can take three forms. And no, none of the three is a sword because what was the point of that, even??? Lance can wield his standard blaster, a long rifle, and dual pistols. The strength of theshots from Lance’s bayard can be consciously controlled—his thoughts and intentions determine whether a shot has the strength to kill or merely stun.
- Lance’s incredible aim isn’t a natural talent. Actually he’s spent hours and hours in a shooting range he found in the castle, working on perfecting his shot. Just like the gladiator levels on the training deck, the targets in the range keep getting harder and harder, but Lance is progressing very well. No one but Coran knows that Lance has been training so hard with his bayard, since Lance desperately wants to pretend his skill is all natural and has sworn Coran to secrecy. Coran covers for him by pretending he’s sent Lance off on absurd cleaning missions all the time.
- Is 1000% Coran’s favorite of the paladins. Coran won’t even try to lie if asked. Although Coran has never expressed it out loud, he sees Lance as an example of the brave, kind-hearted son he would have hoped to raise—if his son had survived the war. (On Lance’s part, although he’s also never shared this, Coran reminds him very much of his beloved uncle, who passed away when Lance was very young, but whom he still remembers well and extremely fondly.)
- After his uncle passed away, Lance’s aunt moved in with Lance’s parents permanently, and Lance essentially helped to raise his two very young cousins, Nadia and Silvio. Lance does have very good experience with children—unfortunately for him, what human children respond well to doesn’t always work for Galra kids!
Lotor:
- Has not spent 10,000 years kicking about the universe. We’re not doing that weird “If he’s immortal because of the rift creatures then how come his governess is still alive?” plot hole song and dance routine from the actual show. Lotor was born after the war decimated the Alteans 10,000 years ago, but due to Haggar’s condition (aka being, you know, dead), he was essentially unable to live on his own and was placed in cryostasis very shortly after being born.
- Roughly 20 years before the discovery of the Blue Lion on Earth, Haggar used advancements in quintessence manipulation technology to successfully revive the infant Lotor. But she didn’t wake him for no reason—she has a very specific intention for her son, a long endgame plan, of which Lotor and even Zarkon are currently unaware.
- We’re also not doing that dumb “How could Haggar—the only remotely Altean-looking being in all of Zarkon’s presence—possibly be my mother?” plot from the show either. Lotor is aware that Haggar is his mother, although he has never been able to infiltrate her research facilities and therefore has no idea how an Altean scientist ended up where she did, looking like she did, and siding with the Galra against her own people.
- Because his parents’ past and his own origins are such a mystery, Lotor is obsessed with learning the truth of the war, the Alteans, and every hidden secret from that time period, including Voltron and the mysterious “rift.” He devours any information he can get on this period of history, and especially on Alteans, voraciously.
- But even though he’ll take any pieces of information he can get, Lotor’s real favorite obsession is mythology. He’s a deep lover of folklore and fairytales, bestiaries and local legends, and more than one assassin has traded a good story in exchange for having his life spared. Lotor may or may not hunt for space cryptids in his spare time. However, no single legend occupies Lotor’s mind as much as the legend of the mythical realm of Oriande, home of the ancient Altean alchemists. As practical as he tries to appear, Lotor has never given up his deep-down childish wish to be the one who finds the promised land of Oriande and prove it is real. But when he thinks back… Where was it that he first heard about Oriande, again? Who told him…?
- That entire thing with the hidden Altean colonies is just… not going to happen. The writers were bad and they should feel bad. Although Lotor has looked, after 10,000 years and plenty of centuries of hiding any Altean connections, distinguishing those who still have Altean blood has become essentially impossible.
- Part of the reason Lotor has looked for Alteans is that he was born with a bizarre grab-bag of Altean instincts and abilities and no guidance on how to deal with them, because he’s certainly not going to reveal to Haggar that he has unexplained talents like precognition and the ability to speak to planets. Growing up with half of his bloodline extinct has been ROUGH on Lotor.
- Speaking of growing up… Even though he remains the crown prince on official record, Lotor took the first opportunity he could to leave his parents’ sphere of influence, and he has not physically been back to Galra Central Command in more than ten years.
- Lotor is effectively a universal wanderer. Aboard his personal ship the Urbanus (a Destroyer-class star cruiser which has been heavily modified and improved by Lotor himself), Lotor and his generals travel wherever they like, both within the Galra Empire and outside it, dodging Haggar’s frequent attempts to re-exert control over Lotor and even more frequent assassination and kidnapping attempts from Zarkon’s enemies.
- Although Lotor has a very specific goal in mind, progress on this goal has been slow and painstaking, and he’s often left waiting for the next bare bones clue to chase after; this has resulted in the young prince having an unfortunate abundance of free time, which is dangerous for everyone involved. In between progress on his mysterious life’s goal, Lotor and his generals frequently get into trouble with small planets, local governments, militaries both official and off-the-books, giant monsters, and at least two hundred museum curators. They may or may not be wanted for grave-robbing in 13 different star systems.
- Basically he’s space Indiana Jones, if Indiana Jones was still 20 and also purple and also not being paid enough to be a good guy.
- All that said, as much of a devil-may-care rogue as he’d like to be seen, Lotor did spend all of his childhood under the thumb of the empire’s brutal authoritarian dictators, and he is therefore every inch a crown prince; as befitting one of his stature, he speaks eight languages fluently, flawlessly matches his formal dress to the occasion, knows exactly which piece of silverware to use when, can engage in political battles of wits and diplomatic machinations with the best of them, and has been training in armed combat since he was three years old. Lotor’s impeccable manners and steely leadership ability were literally beaten into him, to the point that now, even among trusted allies, he sometimes finds it difficult to turn off his cold, calculated princely persona.
- Not that his generals really let him get away with that kind of thing for long. Only those who have lived with multiple older sisters can truly understand the constant state of teasing and mortifying blackmail that Lotor lives in. On official record, Lotor’s generals are a crack team of terrifying bodyguards; in practice, they’re more likely to be dragging Lotor for all he’s worth than rescuing him. They might keep up formal appearances in front of others, but they’re effectively a close-knit family behind the scenes.
- It’s not a coincidence that all of Lotor’s generals are women; besides generally being awful, most Galra men make Lotor uncomfortable. From a human standpoint, Lotor is ridiculously tall and powerful; but from a Galra standpoint, Lotor is a thin, unhealthy-looking thing whose stature doesn’t command authority or respect in the slightest. It’s exhausting feeling like you have to constantly prove yourself, so Lotor prefers to spend time with a group that doesn’t invite negative comparison.
- However, it should be noted that a Galra man having only female friends has completely different connotations than a human man having only female friends—Galra women are, on the whole, considered more aggressive, bloodthirsty, and over-bearing than Galra men, so any Galra man who would choose to surround himself with that many women must either be out of his mind or incredibly badass.
- When asked what it’s like to live with four beautiful women, Lotor is basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ personified. Despite living together for years, none of the generals are romantically interested in Lotor and he’s not romantically interested in any of them.
- Many people have incorrectly assumed that Lotor and Axca are a pair, but Lotor helped Axca escape from a slave colony and she will never let another man touch her in her life. Axca is extremely grateful and loyal to Lotor, but given that Axca was Lotor’s first real friend, he’s just as grateful to her.
- If you think I’m killing off Narti, you’re out of your mind.
- Despite the fact that Lotor does not feel connected to the Galra Empire or the Galra as a whole, he’s somewhat more traditional and more likely to conform to Galra social standards than he wants to admit (even to himself). He insists that he has no interest in upholding the classic values of the Galra or meeting their expectations for how a prince should behave—but in truth, it’s impossible to fully kill that deep-down desire to just fit in. When push comes to shove, Lotor always finds himself falling in line with the Galra’s oldest and most deeply ingrained beliefs.
- With Lance in the “has never had a real kiss” club. Is not with Lance in the “wants a real kiss” club. Lotor is actually uncomfortable with being touched by strangers (36 assassination attempts will do that to you) and doesn’t make real friends, let alone anything closer, remotely easily. Some people are open books; Lotor is that one book from Harry Potter that bites people’s fingers off when they try to open it. Once you’re in his inner-circle, he’ll let you hang all over him, but before that, the space bubble is ten feet in every direction.
- Doesn’t actually put any special effort into his appearance. He just Looks Like That™.
- In fact, he actually kind of hates that stupid cowlick hair that’s always in his face but no matter how many times he cuts it off or slicks it back, it just keeps falling right back in his eyes. He’s basically given up at this point.
- His sword’s name is Eris and it was actually forged in the heart of a dying star.
- Kova the space cat hates Lotor. Lotor hates Kova. It’s a mutually antagonistic relationship. Somehow though, Lotor never makes any effort to get rid of Kova and Kova never takes the opportunity to leave. No one else understands it either, especially since Lotor gets along great with basically every other animal he meets.
- He’s not a pacifist by any means, but he is painfully practical and knows that, on occasion, sparing the life of one’s enemy nets more gain than indiscriminately crushing opponents beneath his heel. More manipulative than outright aggressive, he’s easily capable of twisting even the worst of situations to his advantage. Has an unfortunate tendency to be overly cunning—sometimes the tricks and twists he comes up with are unnecessarily full of flourish just because he thinks manipulating people like pieces in a board game is extremely entertaining. Riddles and mind games are Lotor’s favorite—the more convoluted, the better.
- Although most people refer to him by the basic “Prince Lotor” (Lotori Ahn in Galra), Lotor’s full name and official title is Lotori Kir Ahnja Avel i’ya ne Daibazaal, His Royal Highness Prince Lotor of the First Star. As the emperors and empresses of the Galra are said to be physical representations of the goddess, the firstborn children of emperors/empresses are always called “the first star,” after the supposed first creation of the goddess.
- Extremely competitive, but mostly about weird things—like sure he’s going to win if you challenge him to a swordsmanship duel, but challenge him to a staring contest? Your eyes will rot out of your head before this boy will blink. Do not think he will let you beat him in a spelling bee. More than once the generals have had to drag him away from getting involved in the bizarre competitions of the alien cultures they come into contact with. He was 1000% ready to learn to knit eight-armed sweaters with Rikrik fur, thank you. Would totally take up pig-farming JUST to win an Earth state fair.
- Likes to collect interesting artifacts and trinkets of lost civilizations by force if necessary. His ship is basically a floating museum at this point. The generals are starting to worry that they’re going to have add a whole ‘nother deck for all the war prizes Lotor wins himself. Lotor’s gathering hobby extends to games too—he’s a big fan of games that involve sets of items, like Renni, the Galra collectible card game. Would 110% be that Magic the Gathering nerd back on earth.
- In terms of other interests, Lotor is the picture definition of a Renaissance man. Although he’s not a flawless genius savant in every field, he is wicked smart and has studied a vast array of subjects; he’s a capable engineer, a skilled mathematician, a deft philosopher, a good scientist, and extremely well-read, and he is not going tolet you forget any of those things at any point in time. Lotor is always going to be better than you, please just accept your fate.
- Art is… another story. He might be able to sketch detailed architectural blueprints without breaking a sweat but ask him to draw a dog and you’re going to be in for some trouble.
And that’s more than enough for now I think! XD

headcanon + family !
@alnaari      [     meme     accepting !      ]
( sorry in advance because i kind of hijacked this ask to update my overall family headcanon for shiro instead of the tidbit that i intended for it to be adkfjgh )
tl;dr:  Shiro’s family are people he would not only die for, but people he has unwavering belief in and has given a part of who they are, to create who he is, and likewise, they contain a part of who he is, within them.
*1 Please see Shiro’s illness headcanon *2 I didn’t want to stray too far from canon, but I’m also holding onto the headcanon of Shiro having a sister. So in my canon, he asks Commander Iverson about Toshiko when the crew return to Earth who informs him of her fate ~ he doesn’t find out about his nephew until later. In any non-canon AUs, Toshiko is alive.

VLD Prompt
Ok, here we go.
*cracks fingers nervously *
------
He couldn’t tell Shiro. Especially not now.
When he got Lance’s message, he’d fully intended to come clean, hell he’d even started rehearsing a speech, words about how he hadn’t told him (told anyone) because he didn’t want to distract them- he was fine, he could handle it- the mission had to come first.
But now all of that meant nothing- he couldn’t say those words.
He couldn’t say “Shiro we have a daughter.”
Because they weren’t true.
“It wasn’t your fault, none of us blame you for what happened.”
Keith had said this over and over. All of them had. And he meant every word of it. Shiro wasn’t responsible for Kuron’s actions, he shouldn’t have to carry the burden of guilt that came with taking responsibility for those actions. It wasn’t right.
No- she was Keith’s child. And only Keith’s now.
Afterall, Kuron was dead and Shiro-
…… Shiro would never have to know.
*He names her Artemis.
---------
Or in which Shiro and Keith were a thing in space. Shiro was gone and then he wasn’t. Keith noticed ‘Shiro’ seemed distant but chalked it up to the trauma of what happened. Things got tense and Keith left to join the blades. While he was away, he discovered he was pregnant (a galra thing), but both team Voltron and the Blade of Marmora were dealing with a lot of sh*t, so he stuck with the blades and put off telling the team cause he didn’t want to distract them. Months later Lance calls saying something ain’t right with Shiro, Keith leaves Artemis with Krolia and goes to help out. Sh*t hits the fan, Shiro is Kuron, Kuron is evil then dead and finally Shiro is back. But Shiro is guilt tripping even though no one blames him in any way. And Keith swore he wouldn’t hold Shiro responsible for any of Kuron’s actions. Including fathering Artemis.
But how long can he keep this a secret?
Oh and Keith adores Artemis, so does Krolia and the blades. The timing was bad but it wasn’t a tough choice. He wanted a family, wanted a part of Shiro and he never regretted having her, just having to keep her a secret.
Also, Cosmo + baby = ultimate cuteness.
------
*sigh* I would write it myself but I'm so f**king lazy, so.... prompt?

The Secrets of Beasts
Completely unplanned and the fastest 2000 words I’ve ever written. Much fluff and sap inspired by some talk on the Pidgance Positivity Server about show epilogues/time skips/general Paladin futures. And also this post.
Plance as usual, set at an undetermined amount of time post series.
The team is investigating a mysterious nebula, but the Green Lion is obstinate about Pidge joining them.
Although I’m almost 100% sure someone has done something very similar, here’s my humble take.
~~~~~
Pidge yawned, cupping a hand over her mouth, exhausted from near constant research. She should call it a night, it was near two in the morning. Anything for a mission, she supposed.
She had the sleeves of her Coalition uniform rolled up to her elbows and shirt unbuttoned, exposing the black flight suit. A bright green stain on it nearly matched her uniform, but it was only the remains of hastily cleaned up food goo, spilled earlier while her mind had been focused on the mission.
“Where did the time go,” she wondered, rubbing her eyes. At least she was finished with her studies to the point of personal satisfaction. Looking at the data any further wouldn’t be productive. Hunk would double check things for her anyway.
The Green Lion rumbled, expressing a concern for her Paladin.
Pidge grinned, feeling less tired with her closest companion in her mind. “I know I have to take care of myself, Girl. I’ll go to bed as soon as I report what I have to the team.”
It took only a few steps to walk over to her communications station, one that she had retrofitted to her specifications. Her father’s design for the Atlas left little to be desired, but the comfort of having a workstation in the Green Lion’s hanger reminded her of their time on the Castle, and it meant a lot to her.
She called up the Black Lion and Keith answered immediately. He smiled warmly and Kosmo joined him, nearly pushing Keith over to sniff the screen.
“Hey Pidge, any good news?” he asked while pushing the cosmic wolf gently to the side.
“Somewhat,” Pidge responded. “The nebula seems to be harmless at least, and there’s no evidence of the Rift Creatures that I can tell. You guys should be good to proceed.”
A second screen popped on to her monitor and Allura joined the conversation from the Blue Lion. “I have not sensed the Creatures either. Although, I would feel much better if we had the means to form Voltron.”
“I second that,” Hunk chimed in, creating a third screen on Pidge’s monitor. “I do not like poking at a complete unknown, even with all of us. It just seems like a bad idea.”
Pidge offered a condoling smile and a shrug. “Sorry I couldn’t be there. Green was pretty adamant about staying on the Atlas while Dad and Shiro run the system reboot.”
Pidge couldn’t help a grin as Lance finally rounded out the team on her monitor. His face read of angst and displeasure.
“You know listening to the Lions is for the best Lance, they know what they’re doing,” she told him. “Blue took us to the Castle remember? Stop pouting.”
“I’m not pouting,” he protested. His frown deepened. He was definitely pouting. Pidge found it adorable and endearing. “I’m a little annoyed that I haven’t seen my wife in a week and when I do, she calls Keith before me! Don’t I get any kind of marriage privileges?” he finished dramatically.
“Oh my gosh,” Hunk said. He tried to groan and feign equal annoyance, but the delight on his face told a different story. “Can you two not have a couples spat on the Voltron mind link?”
“Do not answer that question, Pidge,” Allura said firmly. “Lance has been a Goybeenian Monkling all movement because of your absence. He deserves it.”
“I am not!” Lance defended. Although wearing his helmet, Pidge could easily imagine his hairs standing on end.
“I think Green would have said something if the sample I have was truly dangerous. If Allura isn’t sensing anything, Keith isn’t sensing anything, and I haven’t found anything scientifically dangerous, then you’re good to proceed.” She yawned, unable to help it after her long winded answer. “Although if you wouldn’t mind waiting another six varga I'd like to be awake to watch.”
“Yes, I think that is a fantastic idea,” Lance agreed firmly, huffing and crossing his arms.
“Sounds good, Pidge. We’ll see you in six varga,” Keith confirmed. Kosmo hogged the right side of the screen, and despite Keith’s soothing pets, continued to whine and whimper.
“Everything alright with Kosmo? He usually isn’t this vocal.” Pidge worried.
Keith frowned, and didn’t answer right away. “He just misses you,” he finally said with a genuine smile. “Congratulations, by the way.”
“What are we congratulating?” Allura asked, confusion written on her face, and everyone else’s save Keith.
“Uh, Pidge is having a baby,” Keith said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
The video link went dead silent, but the chatter in their minds ran a mile a minute.
“I’m sorry, I’m what?” Pidge exclaimed.
Keith blinked. “You didn’t know? Kosmo says he’s been smelling it on you the week before we left.”
The unmistakable sound of Green standing on all fours took Pidge’s attention away from her team momentarily. The Lion’s eyes lit up bright yellow and unleashed a proud roar.
Allura gasped in delight. “This is wonderful news. And it now makes sense why the Green Lion refuses to leave the Atlas. She wanted Pidge to find out first.”
“Oh man, this is amazing!” Hunk said. “We are totally throwing a party. Lance, dude, buddy, you’re gonna be a dad!”
Lance’s screen wobbled slightly, a sign Hunk had steered the Yellow Lion to give the Red Lion a congratulatory bump. The Red Paladin himself hadn’t yet spoken, his jaw hanging open slightly.
Pidge sympathized, she wasn’t sure what to say either. She cleared her throat. “Well… I guess I can’t argue with a cosmic wolf and a ten thousand year old sentient mechanical lion that lives in my head.” Her heart swelled and she couldn’t help but smile. “So, hey Lance, I’m pregnant.” The words sounded so foreign, but none had ever felt better to say.
That finally broke Lance’s silence. Tears welled up in his eyes behind his helmet. “I’m gonna be a dad,” he said. “I’m gonna be a dad!” he said once more, animated and bouncing up from his chair.
“Okay, let’s let Pidge rest,” Keith said, still smiling. “We’ve got a mission to complete later. We should all do the same.”
Green lowered herself and opened the ramp through the mouth, beckoning Pidge to climb in and pilot.
Pidge couldn’t stop smiling. “Looks like I’ll be joining you guys after I get some sleep.”
“Sounds good, ‘night Pidge.” Keith ended the communication.
“Congratulations, Pidge, Lance. We look forward to seeing you soon,” Allura said before also dismissing herself.
“Okay I just need to know, what kind of cake are we talking?” Hunk asked. “Regular Earth flavors or are we thinking something a little more exotic?”
“We’ll talk about that later, Hunk,” Lance said, tinged with a bit of annoyance. “Can I just talk to Pidge for a second? Alone?”
Hunk slumped. “Yeah okay. Just consider Hovian chocolate. In the back of your minds.”
Pidge crossed her arms and smirked. “You and Matt are going to be co-godfathers. Go prepare yourself for that.”
“Pidge that’s not fair!” Hunk protested, tears streaming down his face. “You can’t pull something that important on me when I can’t hug you!”
“And now you know how I feel,” Lance pointed out dryly.
“Okay, okay I get it. I’m off!” He paused. “I love you guys.”
“Love you too, bud,” Lance said affectionately, sniffling to dry up his tears.
Hunk removed himself from the group conversation.
“He’s right you know,” Lance started. “I want to be with you right now, holding you and our kid.”
“I know,” Pidge agreed. “I’m still trying to wrap this around my head. It doesn’t feel real.”
“You’re the smartest person I know,” Lance said warmly. “It’ll come to you before me.”
Pidge fiddled her thumbs, bringing her abdomen in her field of vision. She brought her hand to rest where she knew months from now the pregnancy would be obvious. “It’ll be a new challenge,” she said. “But less stressful than saving the universe I think.”
Lance laughed. “Ask Lisa or my mom and they’ll probably tell us otherwise.” His smile changed to one radiating confidence and compassion. “We’re gonna do it as a team though, just like we do with Voltron. And it’s going to be great.”
His eyes were filled with nothing but love. It made her feel comfortable and warm.
“I know. I love you, Lance. I’ll see you in person soon. After I sleep I need to get the sample loaded. We can tell our families the good news when we get back - together.”
“Sounds like a plan. I love you too, Pidge. Send my kisses to our peanut.” With exaggeration, he blew a kiss and placed it on his monitor.
Pidge humored him and caught it dramatically, placing it on her belly. “You’re going to need a better nickname for the kid,” she chided. “You know I hate peanuts.”
Lance rolled his eyes. “I’ll have one by the time you and Green get here. Get some sleep, Pidge.”
“Night, Lance,” she responded.
He ended the group chat and Pidge stood for a solid minute just staring at the blank screens, mouth curved into a frown and missing him already.
She turned to Green with a wry grin. “You’re pretty good at keeping secrets, Girl. Anything else you got for me?”
A low, playful rumble was the only answer she received.
“Fine then. I guess millennia old beings can have their secrets,” she teased. Pidge walked up to Green, who closed her mouth to allow Pidge to pet her snout.
She received a purr in response.
Pidge wrapped her arms around Green’s nose as much as she physically could, smiling the whole time. She figured maybe it was the pregnancy, but all of a sudden Pidge was in a very affectionate mood. “I love you, Girl. You’re the best Lion, don’t let the others tell you any different.”
The Green Lion sent a wave of images through her mind; her bed, pillow, pajamas.
“Okay, okay, I get it. I’m exhausted,” Pidge said, pulling away. “I’ll see you later.”
As Pidge exited the hanger, Green sat up in its default mode, effortlessly looking proud and dignified.
Pidge made it as far as her pajamas and getting under the covers, but sleep eluded her. The excitement of discovery and a new personal mission kept her mind buzzing.
Eventually, she focused on the wall of photographs she and Lance used in decoration for their room. Many of them were of the whole Voltron team, a good number of them on some of their more memorable dates, but the one her eyes wandered to was their wedding photo.
Pidge could still feel the comfort of her dress, and how happy the white chiffon and green sash had made her, given to her as a gift from some of Matt’s close Coalition friends. She’d been expecting to wear her uniform, as Lance did, since wedding dresses hadn’t been on the forefront of minds while rebuilding Earth’s infrastructure and economy.
She’d missed having a good reason to wear a dress. The thoughtfulness still made her tear up to this day.
Now she’d have more reason. Even her baggiest clothes wouldn’t fit her eventually.
The thought made her curl up and close her eyes with a smile. The coming months would have their downsides, but all she cared about right now was how good and warm she felt. Lance beside her was the only thing that would have possibly made her happier.
It would only get better when she woke and joined her Voltron family.
Pidge decided the first thing she would do though, is EVA over to the Red Lion and hold her husband for all he was worth.
It would be a very long hug.
astralis | sheith | post-Voltron with kids | 3.5k
Keith’s birthday, years after they saved the universe.
The shifting bed slowly drags Keith out of sleep, releasing a noise of protest and instinctively reaching out to latch onto the warm body trying to leave. There’s a low, soothing chuckle that follows the sweep of a warm hand brushing his hair back, and then the soft press of lips against his forehead.
“Go back to sleep. I’ll be back in a bit.”
“Hmph.” Keith slowly lets go and rolls over into the vacated spot, soaking up the leftover warmth. “Mmkay.”
If anything else is said, he’s out before he can hear it.
He comes to (again) when a familiar weight is pressing down on him, gentle kisses planted onto every inch of his face.
Keith keeps his eyes shut and pretends that he’s still asleep, but he’s sure that the act is broken by his own languid smile. A huff of laughter is released from the person above him, their noses brushing together when there’s a soft murmur of:
“I know you’re awake.”
“Am not,” he retorts.
“Are too.” A kiss is dropped onto his nose. “Wake up, lazy butt.”
With a sigh, Keith opens his eyes in time to catch the flash of amusement that passes over Shiro’s face before it turns into open fondness. He wraps his arms around him and hums, nuzzling against him as he says, “I’d rather stay here.”
“Well,” Shiro says. “The munchkins are waiting.”
As if on cue, there’s the sound of running feet pattering down the hall followed by small giggling that gets louder as it nears the door.
“Guess they were too impatient,” Shiro says with an exasperated sigh, but he looks entirely fond when he speaks. “An attack is imminent. You better prepare yourself, baby. Who knows what’ll happen?”
“I think I can handle this fight,” Keith replies dryly, eyes fixed on the door as the knob starts turning.
Suddenly, it stops.
Then, two children appear on the bed in a flash of blue light. Kosmo looks entirely pleased with himself as he curls around them, tail flicking in satisfaction, while the kids—babies, he reminds himself; because they’ll always be his babies—shriek with rambunctious laughter.
Shiro moves off him just as they start crawling across the bed to climb onto Keith. He’s greeted with a big, wet kiss on both his left cheek and his right eye, both paired with a sound of mwuah!
They adopted a baby Galra a few years after the war was over, once they were settled quite nicely into their new lives. He had been abandoned by a group of Galra who still believed in Sendak’s ideals, and Keith just had to bring him home.
Keith was lucky that Shiro readily agreed to them taking in the baby because there was no way that he was going to leave him just like the baby’s parents had done.
Hikaru was the name they chose for him.
Sometime after that, Keith discovered that he was pregnant (boy, there were several loud complaints about Shiro’s ‘super sperm’ after that), and both Shiro and Keith were super excited for another addition to their family.
She took exactly fourteen hours, thirty-eight minutes, and twenty-nine seconds to be born and although every single moment of that long wait was agonizing, it was worth it.
They named her Akira.
“What do we say to daddy now, huh?” Shiro asks from the side while Keith discreetly wipes off the spit. “Just like we practiced, remember?”
“Happy birf!” Hikaru chirps. His pointed ears twitch as he flattens on top of Keith, flashing a (pointy) toothy grin at him and peering at him through glowing, yellow eyes. It’s starting to wear off as he ages and Keith is certain that his eyes will be purple. He’s three.
“Habbee daddy!” Akira says happily, though it comes out muffled as she gnaws on the sleeve of her Black Lion onesie that Lance made. She has the same eye color as Shiro, but she has Keith’s long black hair and his cute button nose (according to Shiro). She’s only two.
“Close enough,” Shiro says. “We’ll get there someday.”
Keith wraps his arms around their babies and kisses the tops of their heads, hugging them close. “Thank you,” he says, unable to stop smiling. “You two are very sweet. I love you.”
Both kids echo the sentiment, though Akira draws it out until Kosmo joins in with a soft howl. That makes Akira giggle, and then she’s wiggling out of his embrace to crawl over to the space wolf. She wraps her arms around him, which makes Kosmo huff happily.
The wolf and the kids have a very special bond. He’s very protective of them and is always by their sides whenever the whole family goes out, but Kosmo has proven to be easily corruptible. He often plays a hard game of hide-and-seek with them whenever it’s bath time or the kids have made a mess and don’t want to get in trouble.
The new parents did, of course, worry about them not getting along, so now they’re both glad that Kosmo is so open to being a big brother.
“Time to get up,” Shiro suddenly says, pushing himself off the bed and scooping Hikaru off Keith. He immediately latches onto Shiro’s arm and dangles off it while Shiro tugs on the sheets with his other hands. “We all made you a perfectly edible breakfast, and you have to eat it before it gets cold.”
“Perfectly edible, huh?” Keith arches a brow and fights a teasing grin. “I’ll be the judge of that.”
That prompts a smack on his ass once he’s finally up, which makes Keith laugh in delight as he pets through Kosmo’s flank before picking up Akira and following Shiro out of the room.
He sets her down to go to the bathroom and get his business over with, washing his face and brushing his teeth while attempting to comb out the few knots in his hair. Keith pulls it back into a ponytail when he fails, figuring he can fix it properly after he showers.
“Daddy, les’go!” Akira says, grabbing his hand the moment he steps out and tugging him towards the kitchen. “Made eggys and cakeys!”
Translation: Eggs and pancakes.
“We have this for you!” Hikaru exclaims once he’s seated at the table, holding up a black plastic headband with two cat ears poking out on top. “Birf hat! Wear it!”
He thrusts it out at Keith, who takes it with a bemused smile.
“Thanks, baby,” he tells him, carefully putting the headband on. “Did your Papa pick this out?”
Hikaru nods rapidly.
“Huh.” Keith glances over at Shiro, whose ears are tipped red and is pointedly not looking their way. He rests his elbow on the table drops his chin onto his palm, directing a grin at him. “That was nice of him. Maybe Papa bought it for a reason.”
“Papa,” Shiro stresses. “Won’t be talking about this right here. In front of the kids. Instead, he’ll wait until the night to show you why he picked these out.”
“Alright,” Keith replies, entirely amused. “Just know that I’ll be picking out your ‘birthday hat’ when February is near.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything different.”
Shiro turns away from them to grab two plates, one stacked with pancakes and the other covered in scrambled eggs. He walks over to the cupboard to bring out four other plates, setting them down on the table before serving them food. The kids get the pancakes first, and Hikaru is practically bouncing in his seat as Shiro cuts it into pieces for him while Akira stares her food down with furrowed brows as she stabs her fork into it.
“They wanted to add sprinkles to the mix,” Shiro says after he’s done cutting up Akira’s pancake, sliding a plate with a golden brown pancake to Keith. There are bits of color here and there, which must be the sprinkles. “Said that they would make it taste better.”
Keith cuts a piece and pops it into his mouth, humming at the taste. “Well, they’re not wrong about that. It’s delicious!”
“Don’t say that,” Shiro says quickly. “Then they’ll want it every day!”
“What?” Akira asks, squinting at them suspiciously. Her cheeks have streaks of pink and blue while her mouth is coated in chocolate syrup. “What you talk about!”
“Don’t be nosy,” Keith chides, reaching over to tap her nose. “Unless you want Aunt Pidge to take your nose away!”
“No,” she whispers fearfully, covering her nose with both hands and possibly dirtying them. Bath time is definitely going to be early today. “My nose! Not Aunty Pip!”
“You have mine,” Hikaru offers graciously, waving his fork around. “I give you my nose, Kira!”
Akira sniffles. “Thank ‘ou, Karu.”
Even though their names are already pretty short, they still managed to create nicknames for each other. It’s endearing to hear, and his heart always grows warm whenever he sees proof of their sibling love for each other.
“Make sure you guys eat all of your breakfast,” Shiro says, sliding sippy cups full of milk to their kids. Hikaru immediately drinks it while Akira focuses on licking her fork clean. “We have a long day ahead of us and we won’t get to eat until lunch.”
“We do?” Keith asks in surprise. “What are we doing?”
Shiro rolls his eyes. “Every year you try to find out your birthday plans before it happens, and every year I tell you the same thing: ‘nice try.’”
Keith huffs and stuffs a forkful of eggs into his mouth. He’ll never stop trying.
After breakfast, Shiro volunteers himself to bathe the kids. Keith lets him take the job in favor of cleaning up the kitchen, smiling to himself when he hears the laughter that spills out of the bathroom and fills up the rest of the house.
By the time he’s freshly showered and dressed (in casual clothes, as Shiro ordered), Shiro has the kids and Kosmo packed in the car and ready to go. Keith spies a couple of coolers in the trunk, several grocery store bags, and a bright red umbrella, and yet he still can’t get a sense of where they’re going.
“Is it a long drive?” Keith asks once they start driving away from their house—built next to that old shack in the desert, far enough away from everything so they won’t ever be disturbed. “I don’t think we can last a long car ride with the kids…”
Shiro laughs. “Don’t worry, we won’t be. I took that into consideration and decided we should have a faster way of getting there.”
☆ ☆ ☆
“I should have known we were coming here,” Keith says as he catches sight of the glittering waters in the distance. “You packed our cooler, that’s usually a dead giveaway.”
“We’ve only been to the beach three times,” Shiro replies, eyes fixed ahead. “I’d be surprised if you remembered that it was our beach cooler.”
The ride would have taken about two and a half hours by car, but being Defenders of the Universe has its perks from time to time—in this case, Shiro herded them all into the Black Lion once they arrived at the IGF-Atlas, just outside the Garrison. He piloted it while Keith sat on the floor of the cockpit with Kosmo and their sleeping kids.
They slow down as they near the beach, and Keith spies the hulking forms of the other Voltron Lions sitting in the sand. They’re all currently cloaked right now, but Black automatically detects them and points them out on her screens.
After they saved the world, Pidge managed to fabricate more cloaking devices for the rest of the Lions. It made it easier to travel around without being attacked by eager fans who wanted to meet the Paladins of Voltron.
One of the screens zooms in on a cluster of blue in the center of all the Lions, showcasing an image of three pop up tents and a table lined with delicious food. There are balloons tied to the tents, and a banner that clearly reads ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEITH!’
“A party?” Keith realizes, disgruntled. “I thought I told you not to make a big deal out of things…”
“How can I not?” Shiro counters. “It’s not every day that you turn thirty.”
“Oh yeah? Then how come when you turned thirty you made us all promise to never mention it in your presence, huh?”
“We’re here,” Shiro says cheerfully, completely ignoring Keith like the coward that he is.
Once he lands carefully and allows the Lion to power down, Keith gently shakes the kids awake. Hikaru is always easier to wake up, eyes flying open and body popping up with a speed that still manages to surprise both Keith and Shiro. Akira, on the other hand, glares up at him for disturbing her sleep and rolls onto Kosmo instead.
“Kira,” Hikaru says, with all the exasperation that a three-year-old can muster. “Come on! Beach time!”
“I no like,” Akira says grumpily. “I stay with Kosmo. No beach!”
Shiro crouches down beside them, wrapping an arm around Hikaru and reaching out to smooth Akira’s hair back. She stares up at him with the fiercest scowl, eyes a bit shiny as she clutches at Kosmo’s fur.
“The other Lions are here,” Shiro says in a low, soothing voice. “And so are all your aunts and uncles. Don’t you want to see them? They miss you.”
Akira sniffles. “Aunty ‘Lura here?”
“Yes. She’s here.”
That makes Akira light up and she pushes herself up to stand, grabbing Shiro’s hand and stomping excitedly. “Les’go!” she cries, tugging on it. “Les’go! I wanna see Aunty ‘Lura!”
Black lowers her head to extend the ramp out of her mouth. Akira takes off in excitement, shouting for Allura the moment she’s outside. Shiro hands Hikaru over before chasing after her, grabbing half the things they brought on the way out.
Kosmo stretches and yawns, long tongue licking over sharp teeth, and disappears in a flash of blue light.
“Just you and me now, kid,” Keith tells Hikaru, standing up to grab the other cooler. He peeks inside the grocery bags. “Here, this one has chips. Why don’t you take it?”
“Okay, daddy!” Hikaru says, crouching down to wrap both of his arms around the bag and hefting it up with heavy breath. “Heavy! But I help!”
“Good job,” Keith says proudly, ruffling his hair with his free hand. Hikaru beams at him, ears twitching in happiness. “Now let’s go, I bet everyone is waiting for us.”
Lance, Hunk, and Coran greet him with a cheer and wave, standing in front of the grill as they cook up something that looks like ribs. Pidge waves at him offhandedly while Matt nods in greeting, the two of them mostly focused on a device that’s sparking angrily on one of the tables. Krolia kisses the top of his head when she passes by with a big box, Kosmo trotting at her heels. Allura shoots him a bright smile, Akira perched on her hip despite her currently large stomach.
“Nice to see you all,” Keith says to everyone with a grin of his own, directing Hikaru to the food table so he can put his bag down. The moment he does, he takes off to be by Shiro’s side. “Anything I can do to help?”
“Nope!” Coran says, coming over and grabbing him by his shoulders. He guides Keith to the bench beside Allura and forces him to sit down. “You’re the birthday boy! You’re supposed to sit down and relax while we do all the work.” He pauses and looks over at Lance. “Is that right?”
Lance nods, attention turned back to the grill when there’s the sound of loud sizzling.
Keith looks over at Allura once Coran moves away, nodding at her stomach. “How’s it going?”
“Oh, it’s going swell!” Allura answers rather brightly, slowly sitting down beside him. Akira plops down onto the sand and starts making a big pile. “I thought I’d be tired all the time like those books said, but I’ve felt nothing of the sort! I suppose that’s a perk to being Altean.”
“It was the same for me, too,” Keith says with a laugh. “Glad there’s something we have in common.”
“I wish we had the shorter term in common,” she replies with a small huff. “I already want them out of me so I can finally hold them in my arms.”
Keith looks at her. He squints. “You just wanna see if they have Lance’s ears.”
She sighs. “Yes, yes I do.”
He reaches over and pats her knee consolingly. “Look on the bright side,” he says gently. “You’re having twins—the chances that they’ll both have his ears shouldn’t be too high. Maybe one will, and the other will have yours.”
Allura covers his hand with her own and breathes out in relief. “Yeah, you’re right.” She laughs. “Look at you, already being a fantastic godfather to my children.”
“That’s what I’m here for,” Keith says easily.
“Daddy!” Hikaru shouts as he comes running up to them, bouncing in place and tugging on Keith’s shirt. “Papa says we go to the water! Let’s go!”
Keith looks over at Shiro, who grins back at him. “Alright,” he says, scooping both Hikaru and Akira up. The former shrieks in delight while the latter slumps in his hold. “But first, we gotta change you into your swim clothes and you gotta keep them on the whole time we’re in the water, deal?”
“Deal!” Hikaru says happily.
Akira grumbles in agreement.
He hands the kids off to Shiro for him to change them, smearing sunscreen all over their skin once they’re done. Akira wiggles around in an attempt to escape it while Hikaru tries to lick it off his hand. He doesn’t really need it like Akira does, purple complexion and all, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
“Now we’re all set and ready to go,” Keith says when he’s done, taking off his shoes and rolling up his jeans so they don’t get soaked by the waves. He doubts they’ll want to head deep into the water, and that’s why he doesn’t change into his swim trunks. “Ready to go splash around?”
“Kosmo come too?” Akira asks.
“You gotta ask him, baby.”
Kosmo does go with them, and the five of them happily splash around in the water for a good hour or so until it’s time for them to eat.
☆ ☆ ☆
They’re all huddled around the fire pit while it crackles and dances with flames, the stars twinkling above them as they exchange stories of their recent travels. Pidge is slumped against Hunk while Matt sprawls across their laps, the three of them bundled up in hoodies and jackets. Allura is sitting back against Lance, their intertwined hands resting on her baby bump with heavy blankets draped across their shoulders. Coran is between the two clumps, manning the fire and trying to figure out how to prepare s’mores for everyone while Krolia tries to help.
Keith and Shiro have their arms wrapped around their kids, who slumber on peacefully after a tiring day. They sacrificed their own blankets to tuck them around them, but their own body heat is enough to keep them from freezing as long as they stay close together.
Kosmo is lying in front of them, gnawing on leftover bones from all the ribs they ate earlier. He’s gotten through half the pile and it’s only been forty minutes.
A kiss is suddenly pressed to the side of his head, prompting Keith to look up at Shiro curiously.
Shiro is gazing at him with an expression that’s pure adoration, voice low when he says, “Happy birthday, baby.”
Cheeks growing warm, Keith manages a smile in return and whispers a soft, “Thanks.”
Another kiss, this time on his forehead. “Did you have a good day?” Shiro asks. “I know you said not to make a big deal, but you seemed to be enjoying yourself…”
“I did,” Keith admits, snuggling closer to him. “I really did. It was probably the best birthday I’ve ever had.”
“You say that every year…”
“That doesn’t make it any less true!”
They share a laugh and quiet down when Akira shifts restlessly, only soothed by Keith’s soft shushing. She clutches the blanket tightly as she relaxes again, shifting closer to her brother in sleep.
“Are you happy?” Shiro asks next.
Keith tips his head back to stare at the stars, as bright as they are when they’re out in the desert. He thinks about everything that he went through and how despite all of that, he still managed to get to a point in his life where he has a family of his own, like he always wanted, and friendships that will forever stay strong.
And, a husband who also happens to be the love of his life.
A content sigh leaves him. He turns his head to kiss Shiro’s shoulder and meets his gaze, smile as soft as the warmth he sees in them.
“Yeah,” he answers. “I am.”
Note
i want to see a pregnant lance fic from u so bad… it could be established kl kid and relationship or lance being pregnant from a previous relationship/hookup and keith stepping in… idk..
i tried writing something for you, anon, but it wasn't coming out the way i hoped. :( so instead i'm giving you an excerpt from a fic i'm still not sure i wanna keep.
“Welcome, Blue Paladin,” said the woman, and Lance blinked in surprise. “I am Princess Allura of Altea.”
“Blue Paladin?” he said, pointing at himself with a piece of jerky, and she nodded.
He looked at the others.
“What's that?” he said.
“It means you are the pilot of the Blue Lion,” said Allura. “I am very happy to meet you.”
“Um, no thanks,” Lance said.
Allura blinked.
“But she chose you,” she said.
“Yeah, and it sounds an awful lot like you're gonna want me to fight with it, because that's totally a war machine,” Lance said, taking another bite of his jerky. “So I'm gonna pass.”
Allura stared at him blankly.
“But,” she said, “this is a great honor.”
“Yeah, and I'm delicate,” Lance said. And he rubbed his stomach absentmindedly.
Allura tilted her head. Her eyes going down to his belly. He stopped, dropping his hand.
“Do you mean you can't fight while pregnant?” she said. “Is that normal for your species?”
“WHAT?” Pidge said, choking on the word.
Strangely enough, the annoying masked person echoed her.
Lance went rigid as everyone but Hunk turned to look at him. And like the greatest person on Earth that he was, Hunk put himself slightly in front of him.
“You're pregnant?” Pidge screeched. Her eyes were practically popping out of her skull.
“Oh, I'm so sorry,” Allura said, brow creasing. “With how brightly you're glowing, I thought it was obvious.”
“Hold up, I'm glowing?” Lance said. “Like actually glowing?”
“Lance,” said the strange masked person. “Are you … pregnant?”
“Sorry, do I know you?” Lance said, annoyed. “I don't think so. Mind your own business.”
“Lance doesn't have to answer any questions he doesn't want to,” Hunk said firmly, somehow growing larger as he stared everyone down. “Back off.”
“And just who the hell are you?” said the masked person.
“Did I not introduce myself?” Hunk said brightly, demeanor changing to friendly once more. “I thought I did. I'm Hunk, Lance's other half.”
The masked person stumbled back as if they had been shoved. The other masked individual stepped up behind them and held them steady by the shoulder.
“The better half, I think,” Lance said idly. “Hunk, do you have any oranges?”
“Oh, sure,” Hunk said, reaching into his bag and pulling out a small orange. He easily peeled it and handed Lance a piece.
Lance popped it into his mouth and hummed.
“So if that's all, we're gonna get going,” Hunk said, holding out a hand to Lance's mouth. He spat out a seed into it. “We have things to do.”
“You — you can't go,” Allura said. “The Blue Lion chose you!”
“Yeah, and I can't fight,” Lance said. “You drive it. But please drop us off at home first.”
“Can you really not fight?” Allura said in increasing anxiousness. “Just how delicate is your gestational state?”
“Lady,” Lance said, “if I so much as bump my bump the wrong way, something bad could happen.”
Allura looked horrified at the thought.
“Can you fight pregnant?” Lance asked, baffled.
Allura nodded and said, “Some of our greatest warriors were pregnant. It strengthens us.”
Lance frowned.
“Wow, I wish I was Altean,” he said. “My back already hurts, and I'm in my second trimester.”
“Changing into an Altean only happens in fairytales,” said the red-haired Altean.
“Uh-huh,” Lance said, already having lost interest. He ate another orange slice and chewed on some jerky. “So … about that ride?”
“Could you at least help us recover the other lions first?” Allura said. “Voltron is the hope of the universe.”
“Mm,” Lance said, face twisting. “No offense, but a war machine isn't the hope of anything. It's a means to an end like any other tool. The people who work it would be the hope of the universe.” He yawned abruptly. “Oh, man, I'm tired.”
“Here,” Hunk said, taking off his vest and laying it on the floor. “Sit.”
“You're the best, Hunk.”
Allura was speechless for a moment. Then she frowned.
“Well, Voltron is the hope of the universe,” she said. “Will you help us recover the rest of the lions?”
“Well, seeing as you're holding me hostage otherwise,” Lance said, and Allura gaped at him, “I guess I have no choice.”
She soon snapped out of it and cleared her throat, returning to her regal demeanor.
“Coran, would you please show our guests their rooms for the time being?”
Voltron NextGen Multi-Reality AU Basics (S8 UPDATE)
Voltron NextGen Multi-Reality AU
SPOILER WARNING FOR S8
 Or just Multi AU for short. As a multishipper I’ve suffered with all my ships and NextGen ideas for a long time now, until I came to the conclusion: Why make an AU for every single ship when I can make 1 BIG AU for all of them? I mean with Alternative Realities being a thing it’s basically a free-for-all!
That’s how I came up with the Multi-Reality NextGen AU, honestly I’m only calling it an „AU” as a formality…
 Basically, every ship is canon. EVERY SHIP. I may personally not like a couple of ships but that doesn’t mean I don’t want others to have fun. So yeah, fight me.
And of course with this being an inter-reality AU the crossovers are endless… honestly come to think of it, this whole AU is pure self-indulgence, nothing else.
 I just enjoy designing NextGen children for my ships with some very little story ideas here and there and some crossovers. That’s all this is.
 But since I’m putting this out there in the void I might as well write up some basics to make it easy.
 Also this is probably obvious, this being a NextGen, but there’s a general warning for MPreg for the whole thing.
 As for all Realities:
 -          I headcanon Galras to have both set of reproductive organs, so all females and males can impregnante and become pregnant all the same, though the dominance of each organ can change in cycles.
 -          Also miss me with that „Allura is a teenager” bullshit, I headcanon her to be around 23 years in human terms in S1.
 -          I also headcanon Pidge to be a Trans Girl.
 -          Also you can pry Half-Korean Keith from my cold dead hands.
 -          Also also I headcanon Keith and Axca to be siblings, so unless I state otherwise just assume they’re are siblings.
 -          Depending on Reality Adam is alive. Also miss me with Adam dying in the Canon Reality too, my guy just lost a leg and was saved by the resistence and was chilling in the desert the whole time, okay?
 -          Krolivan is totally a thing in all my realities.
 The main gang’s ages through the Canon in my interpretation:
Pre-Kerberos:
Shiro: 24
Keith: 17
Lance: 16
Hunk: 17
Pidge: 14
Allura: -
 Season 1-5:
Shiro: 25
Keith: 18
Lance: 17
Hunk: 18
Pidge: 15
Allura: „22”
 Season 6:
Shiro: 26
Keith: 21 (+2 years)
Lance: 18
Hunk: 19
Pidge: 16
Allura: „23”
 Season 7 (by the time they get back to Earth):
Shiro: 27
Keith: 22
Lance: 19
Hunk: 20
Pidge: 17
Allura: „24”
 Season 8 (by the end of S8):
Shiro: 28
Keith: 23
Lance: 20
Hunk: 21
Pidge: 18
Allura: „25”
 1 year later:
Shiro: 29
Keith: 24
Lance: 21
Hunk: 22
Pidge: 19
 Epilouge (5 years later):
Shiro: 34
Keith: 29
Lance: 26
Hunk: 27
Pidge: 24
 Most of the AU focuses on a couple of ships of my liking and their children, those being:
 Klance Reality:
Everything happens mostly according to canon, up until about S6. The key differences being:
-          Thace is Keith’s Uncle, being Krolia’s brother, he also survives in this AU.
-          The Castle doesn’t get destroyed.
-          The 3 years gap still happen.
-          On their way home they find a Shiro clone who managed to stay alive but never found his way back to Voltron, Shiro has a twin now (they decide to call him Ryou because I’m creative like that).
-          Shiro gets an Altean like arm.
-          Adam doesn’t die.
-          They go back to Earth and save it from Sendak, but Earth doesn’t become the center of the Voltron Coalition.
-          Allura doesn’t die.
-          Allurance happens at first but later they realise it’s not working, so they split sometime after S8.
-          Adashi, Thoran and Hunay happen.
-          No Altean Lance at all.
-          No Curto either.
-          Altea and Daibazaal aren’t reborn.
-          The Lions don’t leave.
 More stuff to know about the Klance Reality:
-          They eventually switch back the Lions with Allura going back to pilot the Castle and Ryou going to pilot Blue.
-          Allura will eventually become Queen Allura, and they’ll reform the Coalition with a more Altean center.
-          The Empire will be completley wiped out and they’ll work on clearing the universe from rogue warlords and pirate captains. Also re-habiliting and re-integrating galras into the universe.
-          Keith will have a more Galra like appearance after their third kid, because he got infected with a bio-chemical weapon virus and part of the procedure to save him was to amplify his Galra genes.
 Keith and Lance will have 8 children:
-          Rosalie „Rosa” and Thace „Ace” McClain-Kogane:
30 years old, the oldest of the children, twins, with Rosa being older out of the two of them. Rosa is named after Lance’s Mom, Ace is named after Thace, Keith’s Uncle. Rosa is a Field Commander and later she’ll become the Red Paladin. Ace is the Royal Commander and later the Black Paladin.
 -          Amelia „Amy” McClain-Kogane:
26 years old, smaller and sickly due to Keith’s sickness during the pregnancy. The future pilot/Captain of the Castle, she will pilot it with a pair of Altean gauntlets Allura made for her.
(She’s named after Amelia Earhart because I’m a history nerd.)
 -          Violet and Liliac McClain-Kogane:
21 years old, twins, with Violet being older. Both of them just freshly graduated, Violet is a diplomat, Liliac is a mechanic. Violet is the future Blue Paladin, Lilian is the future Green Paladin.
 -          Akira McClain-Kogane:
18 years old, going to graduate soon, possible future Black Paladin. He prefers to work with the Rebels, can’t quite find his place yet.
 -          Clarisse „Claire” McClaine-Kogane:
16 years old, the problem child of the family, possible future Red Paladin, nopes out to join the Blade of Marmora in secret.
 -          Charles „Chuck” McClaine-Kogane:
12 years old, youngest and last of the children, future Yellow Paladin, upcomming tech genius.
 As for the ages of everyone in the present of the Klance Reality:
 Shiro: 62
Keith: 57
Lance: 54
Hunk: 55
Pidge: 52
Allura: „59”
  Sheith Reality:
This reality follows canon the most closely, but there’s almost a slight „underage” warning, „underage” being Keith is 17 at the start.
 -          Shiro and Keith kind of „got together” just before the Kerberos mission, a good while after Shiro and Adam broke up, it wasn’t exactly official, they were supposed to figure it out after Shiro came back.
-          They had a one-night-stand before the Kerberos mission, Keith got pregnant, and since he wasn’t aware he’s half-galra, he was thought to be some kind of intersex.
-          Adam helped Keith, and helped him keep it a secret, and even helped him after he got expelled.
-          Adam was taking care of the kid when Shiro came back and they found the Blue Lion and kept taking care of her after their disappearance for 3 years until his „death.”
-          Curtis takes care of Hoshi after Adam’s death mostly. (haha)
-          Since Shiro didn’t bring up their Pre-Kerberos „relationship” neither did Keith, only until they were on their way back to Earth, that’s when he told him about the kid too.
-          Earth’s becomes the Center of the Coalition.
-          After the Universe is safe, Shiro and Keith „settle down” in the desert, Shiro keeps working as Admiral of the Garrison and Captain of the Atlas, Keith as Leader of Voltron keeping the universe safe.
-          Shiro had a twin brother called Ryou in this Reality but he also had Shiro’s disease and he already died from it.
-          Allura doesn’t die.
-          Altea and Daibazaal aren’t reborn.
-          Punk and Allurance happen.
-          Curto doesn’t happen.
-          The Lions don’t leave.
-          No Altean Lance at all.
  Shiro and Keith will have 3 children:
-          Hoshi Shirogane:
26 years old, mechanic and teacher at the Garrison, future Black Paladin.
 -          Ryou Shirogane:
16 years old, talented pilot, Cadet at the Garrison, the discipline case, named after Shiro’s twin brother.
 -          Sora Shirogane
11 years old, troublemaker with the face of an angel, she has very good strategic skills.
 Everyone’s ages in the Sheith Reality:
 Shiro: 50
Keith: 45
Lance: 42
Allura: „47”
Hunk: 43
Pidge: 40
  Shallura Reality:
This reality is pretty close to the Klance Reality, since originally they were in the same reality but I changed it later.
 -          Thace and Ulaz both survive.
-          The Castle doesn’t get destroyed.
-          Allurance doesn’t happen at all, Lance gives up on her and they form a strong sibling like friendship.
-          The 3 years gap still happen.
-          They go back to Earth and save it from Sendak, but there’s no Atlas and Earth doesn’t become the center of the Voltron Coalition.
-          They occasionally go back to Earth.
-          They eventually switch back the Lions with Allura going back to pilot the Castle, Shiro going back to Black, Keith to Red and Lance to Blue.
-          Allura doesn’t die.
-          Altea and Daibazaal are still reborn.
-          Allura will eventually become Queen Allura, (and King Shiro?) and they’ll reform the Coalition with New Altea at the center.
-          Keith becomes the new Galra Emperor of Daibazaal.
-          Shiro gets an Altean arm.
-          Hunay, Laxum and Thalaz happen.
-          Curto doesn’t happen.
-          The Lions don’t leave.
-          No Altean Lance at all.
  Shiro and Allura will have 3 children:
-          Prince Alfor (Jr.)
28 years old, future King, currently diplomat and Ship Commander. Named after King Alfor obviously. Has some alchemy abilities.
 -          Prince Leo
22 years old, new Captain of the Royal Guard. Doesn’t have alchemy abilities. (Yet?)
 -          Princess Hikari
17 years old, wannabe explorer, future diplomat, alchemist in training.
 Everyone’s ages for the Shallura Reality:
 Shiro: 63
Allura: „60”
Lance: 55
Keith: 58
Hunk: 56
Pidge: 53
  Svlav Reality:
Honestly this is just the Altean Empire Reality. Like I legit planned this to happen in the canon Altean Empire Reality but it can just as well be a variation of it. Everything is exactly the same except Sven and Slav having a daughter.
 Sven and Slav will have 1 kid:
-          Yume, 15 years old, member of the Guns of Gamara, her existence is considered an anomaly in all realities, this gives her a good amount of existential anxiety.
  Loturra Reality:
This also mostly follows canon, just with Lotor Redemption.
 -          Lotor doesn’t kill Narti.
-          Lotor also unlocks the secrets of Oriand.
-          (Lotor doesn’t lie to the alteans on the Colony, they can volunteer for the Quintessence extraction „experiment”.) I don’t know what to do with this part yet, bear with me.
-          Lotor DOES go kind of mad from the Quintessence exposure when they go in to the Quintessence Field with Allura.
-          Lotor and his Generals form Sincline and fight Voltron, but Voltron saves them in the end and Allura cures Lotor.
-          Sincline will fight beside Voltron.
-          Lotor doesn’t die.
-          The 3 years gap still happen.
-          They still go back to Earth and save it from Sendak together.
-          Shiro still becomes Captain of the Atlas.
-          Allura doesn’t die (duh).
-          Altea and Daibazaal aren’t reborn.
They’ll eventually unify the Galra Empire again this time on the right path and start to build New Altea with the Colony Alteans. Galrans and Altean unite on a new home.
-          Empress Allura and Emperor Lotor.
-          After Kolivan and Krolia retire, Keith becomes the new Leader of the Blade of Marmora together with Axca.
-          Allura becomes the Black Paladin.
-          I don’t know who’ll be the Blue Paladin yet.
-          Curto doesn’t happen.
-          The Lions don’t leave.
-          Kaxca and Shlav happens.
-          No Altean Lance at all.
 Lotor and Allura will have 2 children:
-          Prince Alfor the II. and Princess Honerva
23 years old, the royal twins, with Princess Honerva being older. Princess Honorva is a great warrior and future Empress. Prince Alfor is a talented alchemist and diplomat.
 Everyone’s ages for the Loturra Reality:
Allura: „59”
Lotor: „61”
Shiro: 62
Lance: 54
Keith: 57
Hunk: 55
Pidge: 52
  Shendak Reality:
Oh boy, here comes another hard one. This Reality is probably the most different of all and the least worked out. This is basically Sendak redemption with Sendak not being That Bad™.
 -          Sendak has a strong sense of honor.
-          After Voltron defeats Sendak, Zarkon denounce him a disgrace and „exiles” him from the Empire.
-          They eventually meet him again and he eventually joins them.
-          At first Sendak works with the Rebels later he joins the Blade of Marmora.
-          Allura doesn’t die.
-          Allurance happens.
-          Altean Lance happens.
-          Altea and Daibazaal are still reborn.
-          The Lions don’t leave.
  Shiro and Sendak will have 2 children:
-          Arashi and Urax
25 years old, twins, with Urax being older. Both of them are pretty problematic, but strong warriors.
 Uliro Reality:
This Reality is pretty much the same as canon, just with Ulaz surviving. That’s pretty much all that changes really.
 -          Ulaz survives the fight with the robobeast, he gets trapped in the pocket-dimension and they later free him with the help of Slav in the 3 years gap.
-          Ulaz will be amongst the surviving members of the Blade.
-          He meets with Shiro again no Earth after they defeat Sendak.
-          Probably Galtean Klance will happen at some point? I don’t have that many details on this reality yet.
 Ulaz and Shiro will have 1 son.
 Some other ships that don’t have their own reality but happen in already mentioned realities:
-          Thoran happens in the Klance Reality.
-          Hunay also happens in the Klance Reality, also the Shallura Reality:
Hunk and Shay will have 1 daughter, 14 years old, Koru.
-          Punk happens in the Sheith Reality.
-          Allurance also happens in the Sheith Reality and the Shendak Reality
Allura and Lance will have 2 children, a girl 19 years old, and a boy 14 years old. They boy will have alchemy abilities. They don’t have names yet sorry.
-          Laxum happens in the Shallura Reality.
Lance and Plaxum will have 2 children, 23 years old, twins a boy and a girl, they’ll both be amphibious, able to change between mermaid and human form.
-          Kaxca happens in the Loturra Reality.
Axca and Keith are not related at all, and they’ll have 2 kids, a girl 19 years old, member of the Blade of Marmora, and Yorak, 14 years old boy.
-          Thalaz happens in the Shallura Reality.
-          Shlav also happens in the Loturra Reality, they’ll have 1 daughter, 13 years old, (Yami) Yumi, she was genetically made by the Galra from Shiro and Slav’s DNA, to see what happens if they mix their strongest and smartest captive: the answer is anxiety and bad impulse control.
 Yeah, all the „Castle doesn’t get Destroyed” will be just solved by Allura pulling some Mary Sue magic thing, she does that often enough in canon.
 And the „Allura doesn’t die” is basically that, most of these will be wiped out for some time when Honerva destroys all realities except 1, so when canon Allura sacrifices herself to save all realities these AU realites just get restored and they just normally fight and defeat Honerva. (Tho this depends on reality since in some of them the story takes a whole different turn from her to begin with.)
 I’ll also add to this file as I go along and figure things out, but I think this is it for now!
OKAY THIS TOOK ME ALL NIGHT TO TYPE
Seriously I’m highkey proud of myself for finally sitting down and typing this up, even if it’s probably highkey cringey but fight me I’m still proud.
Your Kidge married hc were so cute! I will wait for part 2!!!!!
Hopefully a Part 2.1 will suffice for now! I ended up talking about their first baby a lot more than I intended, so I’m going to break this down by each child and then do a post where I focus primarily on the whole family dynamic!
Forewarning that there will be some mentions of Allurance in all these parts, but I’m not tagging it because they aren’t given any real focus. Additionally, since I know some of thisstuff can squick some people out, warning that there will be somewhat-detailedtalk about pregnancy, birth, and what exactly comes in the early stages with anewborn so please be wary if such things make you uncomfortable.
The First Baby
They talk a lot about children before they end upconceiving; specifically in the later years of their dating and throughouttheir engagement. Despite neither one of them being very social people, familyis undoubtedly a huge thing for both of them. Pidge’s family – the Holts – meana lot to her and she likes the idea of having a few kids of her own someday.For Keith, the idea of having a family unit comprised of his own actual kin –since all he’s got left is Krolia and maybe Nana Eve too idk
Pidge doesn’t actually get morning sickness with their firstbaby. She also doesn’t realize that she missed her periods because she was toofocused on her work, and actually finds out at one of her regular check-ups.
She’s about eleven weeks along at the time, with her duedate being placed in the mid-to-late October range, and is thrown for a completeloop. Not a bad loop, just a Holy-Shit-I-Wasn’t-Expecting-This-Today kind ofloop.
She actually calls Keith to tell him after she’s done withthe rest of her appointment.
“Hey, Keith.”
“Hey Pidge. How’d the doctor visit go?”
“Well, uh… I got some interestingnews…”
“Oh yeah?”
“I might… Kinda… Sorta… Be a little bit pregnant…?”
“…”
“…”
“… Uh… How can you be kindaa little bit pregnant?”
While Pidge heads home, Keith mulls over the news andrealizes that Pidge is pregnant with ababy and she’s gonna give birth to ababy and they’re gonna be parents toa baby and they’re gonna have a start to a little family with a baby anD HOLY CROW A BABY!!!
The minute Pidge walks in the door he scoops her up and justkisses her and she’s absolutely confused for a tick. But then she sees how he’sgrinning at her and how big his eyes are and she realizes that they’re wateringjust a bit and she catches on. She nuzzles up into him and cuddles him and theyjust kinda stay there swaddled together for a long time and bask in theirexcitement.
They decide to tell everyone all together at a bigget-together two weeks from when they find out. They get together with theirfamilies and the other Paladins at least once a month to catch up and shoot theshit.
They both have to try really hard to keep it to themselvesthroughout dinner until finally, after they eat, they chime in that they havean announcement to share.
Pidge is the one who actually comes right out and says thatshe’s pregnant, with Keith preening right beside her.
Colleen is immediately in excited tears and darts over tohug them both, tickled pink at having a grandbaby to dote on. Samuel gets alittle misty-eyed himself and hugs each of them in turn, kissing Pidge’s foreheadand giving Keith’s back a good and hearty pat respectively. Coran also flies into hysterical, excited tears.
Matt gives Keith a playful punch in the shoulder and makes ajoke about not congratulating the guy on getting laid with his little sister.Pidge rolls her eyes and tells Matt he’s just jealous she gets it more than hedoes.
Lance and Allura both offer their excited congratulations,admitting that they’ve been trying for a baby of their own and will hopefullybe joining them soon.
Hunk gets a little weepy and promises to help them with anypainting, building, etc. they need to do in preparation.
Krolia slips away when everyone’s distracted without a word.Keith is pretty upset about it, since he was hoping his mom would be excited tobe a grandma, but he lets it go and instead focuses on being happy with theothers.
Keith is very emotional about being a Dad™ and it makesPidge emotional about having a Family™. They feed off of one another’sFeelings™ completely.
In regards to changes to the diet and schedule, Pidgestruggles with lowering her caffeine intake and making sure she gets her sleepschedule under control.
Pidge has been dependent on caffeine since she was like15/16, okay? How else do you think she got through early morning Garrison classesand late-night Garrison hackings?
Keith sees how hard it is for her, so he starts finding waysto help her out with it. Specifically, he finds out how to make fruit smoothiesfor her to substitute her morning cup of coffee.
In regards to her sleep schedule, Pidge mostly adjusts to anormal sleep schedule because her staying up late starts to stress Keith out alittle it and she doesn’t like that. Plus, once she gets further along in thepregnancy, she feels tired more often and sleeps more simply because she alwaysfeels tired.
With them going to bed around the same time, they cuddle alot more. Once Pidge starts showing more and the baby starts moving, Keithloves sleeping with one hand on her belly so he can feel them moving. Somenights, when the baby gets really restless, it sometimes seems like Keithgently rubbing where they most recently kicked seems to help soothe them, too,so Pidge is absolutely fine with it.
Keith makes sure to attend every doctor’s appointment with Pidge,to see how she and the baby are both doing. When they reach the point they canfind out the gender, they decide to go for it since they’d been struggling withnames and maybe having a gender will help.
They are happily informed that they are expecting a littlegirl! They’re both absolutely thrilled by the news, and picking names becomes abit more streamlined.
They also get a hospital bag ready once Pidge is about amonth out from her due date. Inside are some spare clothes for Pidge, as well asthe onesie they decided to they wanted to bring the baby home in. It’s darkblue with stars and comets all over it, and a little flying saucer on the frontthat says “Outta This World!” They pick this for obvious reasons, I think.
Pidge starts feeling a little weird late into the evening onOctober 29th, but she passes it off as just being exhausted. Sheends up waking up at nearly eleven, though, and gets up to use the bathroom. Keithnotices she got up and lays there, waiting for her to come back to bed, dozingin and out of it.
“K-Keith, are you awake?”
“… Hm! Y-Yeah, I’m up! What’s up?”
“I… I’m pretty sure it’s time…”
“W-What?” *flails uselessly and topples over the side of thebed*
“I’m pretty sure my water just broke… And that these crampsaren’t just cramps…”
“Okay, we got this! We’ve prepared for this!”
Keith gets Pidge the cheap slippers she bought, just forthis situation, and helps her get to the car. He makes sure to grab thehospital bag and rushes them there. Once they arrive at the hospital, Keithsends out a mass text to everyone letting them know that Pidge is in thehospital and the baby will be born soon.
It takes about seven hours of agonizing labor, and by theend of it Keith has lost all feeling in his left hand, but at 6:48 A.M. on October30th, Keith and Pidge become the proud parents of Amber Rose Kogane!
Keith playfully refers to her the best late birthday gift he has ever received.
Amber ends up having Pidge’s eyes, which is where her firstname comes from, while they select Rose as her middle name because Keith wasonce the Red Paladin, and being Paladins was what brought the couple together.Other than that, she ends up with dark hair like Keith as well as his palecomplexion, but gets Pidge’s button nose.
Everyone gives Keith and Pidge a little time to relax andsleep before they start cropping up to visit and meet the darling little girl.In that time, Pidge gets taught how to properly breast feed, as well as bothshe and Keith being shown how to change a diaper properly, specifically asconcerns involving yeast infections are a higher risk to newborn baby girls ifthey aren’t kept clean or wiped thoroughly. They also manage to sneak in a fewhours of sleep.
Colleen and Samuel are the first two to come by, with anextra little gift. Colleen went ahead and knitted a little peach colored baby blanketfor Amber, which has Pidge watery-eyed and Keith beaming. Matt shows up not toolong after that and, being a good big brother, comes bearing snacks and sodasfor the groggy new parents. Allura, Lance, and Coran are the three to show upnext, followed closely by Hunk and then Shiro.
The hospital normally doesn’t let this many people in to oneroom to visit a newborn baby and mother, but Universe-Saving-Paladins-of-Voltron and allthat can get you some nifty little exceptions.
Everyone gets a turn to hold Amber and coo at her, thoughadmittedly Colleen and Lance tend to hog her the most. Lance tries to excuse itas simply being a matter of needing to know how to hold a baby for when he hasone of his own. Keith calls bullshit.
Pidge and Amber only have to spend one whole night in thehospital to be monitored and then they can go home. When the little family ofthree pulls up, they’re surprised to see what is clearly a Blade cruiser parkedin the front yard. Krolia is leaning against the cruiser, fiddling with asmall, long box in her hands. Pidge side-eyes Keith before indicating he gotalk to his mother while she gets Amber out of the car. Krolia perks up whileKeith approaches her.
“Uh… Hi, Mom… It’s been… A while…”
“Yes, I do apologize for that. I had to take care of somethingimportant.”
“Didn’t even stick around long enough to let us know how youfelt about having a grandkid, in fact.” *Said with only a little bit of malice.*
“Well, it was a legitimate reason. I came here to being youthe gift I got for the baby.” *Said with only a lot of defensiveness*
Pidge approaches them with Amber’s little car seat slungover one of her arms and Krolia immediately melts, looking at the dozing infantinside. They all head inside and Pidge passes Amber to Krolia once they getsettled. While she quietly cooes over her granddaughter and aks Pidge aboutthis or that about the newborn, Keith opens the little box she brought.
Inside is a brand new bonafided luxite blade.
Turns out Krolia had gone searching to find some more of themineral and then, upon retrieving some, gone looking for a blacksmith thatcould properly sculpt it into a working blade.
Keith is simultaneously touched and exasperated by the gift.Like, Krolia could have at least stayed a little longer to bask in the glow ofthe news and then gone off. Then again, he knows that she still sometimesstruggles with the whole Being-Responsible-And-Involved-With-A-Family Thing.
She vows to come by and visit as often as she can. She also reveals she has about seven or eight more luxite blades in her cruiser for anyother kids they have. Keith is a little less endeared and a little moreexasperated by this.
“But why did you getso many?”
“I wasn’t sure how many offspring a human has at once! My brotherUdurat was mated to a Patuvian and they can produce as many as five to nineoffspring at one time!”
“…”
“…”
“I have an uncle namedUdurat?”
Anyway, back to the matter at hand! Amber and her parents!
Babies are typically pretty dull for the first six-sevenweeks since they haven’t started figuring out expressions or noises or anythinglike that. It’s mostly just a grace period for parents to try and figure outwhat they’re doing before their baby becomes more like an actual little person.
Once she starts figuring things out, Amber is a veryexpressive and happy little thing. For the longest time, she doesn’t know howto laugh, so instead she just kinda wears a big grin and shrieks for all she’sworth instead. Pidge and Keith find this simultaneously adorable and hilarious.
*Keith comes home from work* “I’m home.”
*Amber’s eyes get wide and her mouth gapes wide in a bigtoothless grin and starts panting and bouncing in her seat*
“Who is that, Amber? Is that your Daddy?” *Pidge, alreadystarting to snort in anticipation*
“AaaahhhhHHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAHHHhhhahhhhh!”
“Happy to see you, too, baby girl.”
Keith still goes on his morning runs, but he invests in alittle baby sling and takes Amber with him. He makes sure that she’s beenrecently nursed before he does – which isn’t hard, since Amber is an earlyriser like her Daddy – so that Pidge can get some more sleep while he gets tohave some Daddy-Baby time with her. He even buys Amber her own little babyvisor so the sun doesn’t get in her eyes.
Pidge gets the first genuine smile from Amber, but Keithgets the first laugh.
Amber struggles to figure out how to crawl. Like, she worksout how to roll herself on to her tummy, but she just doesn’t know what to dowith her arms. So she’ll just lay there on the ground, little butt in the air,staring at wherever she wants to go to like thatwill make her move. Again, Keith and Pidge are absolutely floored by theridiculous cuteness of their child.
She takes her first steps from Keith to Pidge while they’resitting on her little playmate with her in her room. They weren’t actuallyworking on her walking, either; she’d gotten good at standing at that point, sothey were just having her stand while they got her dressed to go to a familyget together. Pidge had been looking for the shoes that went with the littledress they picked, and Amber decided that she wanted to help look, apparently,and bam! She’s waddling her way across the floor to her Mommy.
Her first word is shouted in a way that Keith and Pidge findhilariously aggressive for such a tiny thing as her.
*Keith in the other room* “Hey, Pidge, did you finishgetting the grocery list together?”
“Uh, not yet.” *Trying to get Amber to take a little tether toy*“Aw, come one, sweetie. This is nice and cold! It’ll help with those achy littlegums!”
*Pokes his head around the corner* “Still refusing hertethers?”
“Oh, absolutely. She’s just so ridiculously stubborn.”*Small huff.*
*Amber is shoving the toy away with sharp barks of protest*
“Gee, I wonder where she gets that from…” *A small,sarcastic laugh.
“DADA! *Shoutedwith every fiber of feeling in her tiny body and paired with a dramatic turn ofher head to look at him*
*Cue Mommy and Daddy McFreakin’ Losin’ It.*
This is all for this part for now, but I promise to have thenext part with Baby #2 out as soon as I can! x3
Origins/Storyline | Mothership AU
Master list
Confirmed Ships:
- Samlleen (Previously)
- Krolleen (Currently)
- Adashi
- The rest are up to interpretation by the reader
Origins/Storyline
Colleen is originally married to Sam
Matt is 2-3 months old when Sam dies on a mission to Neptune’s moon, Triton
Colleen, in her grieving, flees to the house in the desert
About a month later is when Krolia crashes
Colleen finds her (taking the role of Texas)
Krolia has some Big Alien Dick EnergyTM and somehow gets Colleen pregnant
Keith is born a year after Matt was (they’re half-brothers in this AU)
Similar thing happens with Pidge about 3 years down the line
Yes, Pidge is half-galra now
Her design changes so she’s wearing tights under her shorts now due to her body having Galran markings
Her hair also mimics Krolia’s by being two-toned (brown on top and pink under) but she frequently dyes it to be all brown
She’s able to interact with Galra technology, etc.
Putting Matt at 4, Keith at 3, and Pidge at about a month old when Krolia leaves
Keith ends up idolising Matt as his older brother, deciding that when Matt goes to the Garrison, he would too a year later
Colleen returns to the Garrison as well as an engineer (mostly bc she needs an income for 3 kids)
At the Garrison, as Keith’s teacher, Shiro becomes a role model for Keith (developing a connection we see in the show)
He pays extra attention to discipline issues, helping him out, etc
The Kerberos mission is Shiro, Matt, and Colleen this time
Pidge is accepted a little early in so she’ll be taken care of per conditions for Colleen being able to leave to space
Kerberos mission fails - Keith flunks out, going to the desert
Pidge stays around a couple more months until she’s caught hacking into the systems too many times and is kicked out
They both end up living in the desert together, working on the blue lion conspiracy
Adam ends up becoming their ‘guardian’ until Keith is 18
Pidge does go back as ‘Pidge’ to keep trying to find anything out she can
Plot of Voltron ensues, but with the following changes:
Keith joins Pidge in looking for their mother and brother, but is more focused on the mission than Pidge is
When Pidge tries to leave, Keith has an outburst along the lines of “You’re going to leave just like everyone else in our family did!”
Lance does have a moment where its like wait Keith and Pidge are related?
Colleen doesn’t take the place of Sam, she ends up escaping the Galra and joining up with a rag-tag team of rebels (space pirates) as their engineer
They end up meeting with her when the pirates end up responding to a distress call at the same time Voltron does
During the scene where Lotor and Zarkon fight, it’s due to Zarkon getting a hold on one of the lions and by extension members of Voltron (It’s Lance because I do what I WANT)
When Keith finds Krolia and introduces her to the team, Krolia runs up to Pidge hugging her and just being like “MY CHILD YOU’VE GROWN SO MUCH YOU BOTH HAVE WHERES MATT”
Pidge didn’t remember Krolia at all (see notes 1 about why) so learning she has two momsTM is an experience, but it’s cut short by needing to deal with Lotor
During the battle with Lotor (aka the three year time skip) Colleen and Matt support each other through the mysteries of Voltron disappearing and the fight
Colleen establishes contact with Earth in this time (she was given the plans like Sam was in case she returned to Earth before anyone else)
Atlas is still in the works of being built bc Colleen is like “I’m literally broadcasting from space what do you think?”
Krolia and Colleen reunite when they’ve found Kolivan
Colleen picks up on the signal and goes to it thinking it might be Krolia
She ends up helping Keith in the fight
They leave together to work on rallying forces for the BOM
When Sanda starts being a Little BitchTM Colleen splits off from Krolia and Kolivan to go manage things on Earth
Because of this, Colleen is able to save a LOT of people (including Adam)
Adam becomes head of the MFE’s and is able to reunite with Shiro
They don’t pick things up right away, Shiro apologises for a lot and Adam doesn’t forgive him, but he is willing to start a new and possibly rebuild things between them
Together (Pidgance Month Day 2)
Read it on AO3!
“So, does everyone have a companion for the banquet tomorrow?”
Pidge mentally kicked herself as Allura spoke, looking at each Paladin in turn.  Despite the princess’s warnings that the Evonrians would only speak to others in pairs, she hadn’t managed to find a date.  No, a companion, she corrected herself.  It’s not really a date.  Truthfully, she hadn’t had a clue who to ask, but she couldn’t just skip the banquet -- all the Paladins were expected to attend.
Hunk spoke up, snapping Pidge out of her reverie.  “Shay agreed to accompany me.”  Was it Pidge’s imagination, or did a hint of a blush color his cheeks?
Shiro was the next to respond.  “Matt will be meeting us there to accompany me.”
Pidge whistled.  “Nice going!”  She took a silent vow that her brother would never hear the end of her teasing.
The room fell silent, and after an awkward pause, Allura cleared her threat.  “What about you, Keith?”
Keith stood, shuffling his feet.  “Oh.  Well, I didn’t want to ask like this, but I was hoping maybe that maybe you’d want to be my companion?”
Allura’s eyes widened briefly, then she smiled.  “I would love to.”
“Well, there goes my plan,” Lance grumbled.
Pidge glowered at him.  “You can’t try and tell me there aren’t loads of alien girls just falling over themselves to go with you.”
Lance rubbed his neck awkwardly.  “Well, yeah, but I… ah… I don’t really have ways of contacting any of them.”
Allura sighed.  “You had nearly a whole phoeb to find a companion!  How do you expect this to work?”  She let out an exasperated huff.  “Did anyone else wait until the last minute to ask someone?”
Pidge shrugged uncomfortably.  “There really wasn’t anyone I could ask, since the Evonrians don’t count robots as people.”
“Why don’t you two just go together?” Keith suggested drily.  “That would solve both problems.”
Pidge opened her mouth and found that she had no response.  Lance, for his part, began to complain, but Allura cut him off.  “I think that sounds perfect!  So it’s settled: I will be Keith’s companion, Shay will be Hunk’s, Matt will accompany Shiro, and Lance and Pidge will accompany each other.”  She turned and whisked away from the breakfast table, leaving the Paladins in stunned silence.
As the Castle approached Evonra, Allura lectured the Paladins and their companions.  If she was nervous, she gave no sign beyond her pacing and endless reminders.  “Remember, no matter how difficult it is, you must not let go of your companion’s hand.  Remain together at all times, and defer to each other in everything, the way Evonrians do.  When dinner is served--”
“Allura.”  Keith gently cut her off, hesitantly taking her left hand in his right.  “We’ve been over this at least five times.”
“You’re right.  I’m sorry.”
“Landing on Evonra in approximately… ah… seven ticks,” Coran warned, and everyone braced for landing.  “Six… five… four…”
Pidge walked over to join Lance, unable to meet his gaze.  They had avoided each other the whole afternoon, and several times, she had caught him glaring daggers at Keith.  Now, though, he seemed resigned to his fate, taking her right hand as soon as she was near enough and managing an encouraging smile.  “You ready for this?”
Pidge’s heart thudded loudly, and she felt certain she was gripping his hand much too tightly, though she couldn’t seem to loosen her hold.  “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
“Hey.”  At Lance’s tone, she turned to look him in the eyes and was startled by how soft his expression was, despite the mischievous smile that played around his lips.  “Since we’re stuck together anyway, let’s try and have some fun tonight, okay?”
Pidge felt a small smile creeping across her face in spite of herself.  “Okay.”
“Announcing the Paladins of Voltron and their Beloveds!”
“Beloveds?” Lance demanded in a whisper.
Allura twisted to answer him over her shoulder.  “That’s how the Evonrians refer to their companions.  One’s companion is the person they feel closest to.”
Lance turned bright red, and Pidge was certain she looked no better.  “You could have told us that before!” he complained.
“Shush,” Keith whispered.  The doors of the grand ballroom swung open, and Keith and Allura entered, followed by Pidge and Lance, with Hunk and Shay behind them and Matt and Shiro bringing up the rear.  The packed room burst into applause in the Evonrian way, stamping their feet rather than clapping their hands.  Tables were scattered around the edges of the room, with an open floor in the middle, and Pidge noticed that the chairs were each wide enough to seat two people comfortably.
As the Paladins entered the crowd, they were immediately swarmed.  Aliens of all races had been invited, but the majority of the guests were Evonrians, easily distinguished by their many arms.  On one side of each Evonrian, innumerable short, noodly arms waved and flailed, while to their other side, every tiny hand grasped the corresponding hand of a different Evonrian.  They were some of the strangest-looking people Pidge had ever encountered.
A pair of Evonrians in resplendent blue robes approached Pidge and Lance.  “Why are there only eight of you?” the one on the left inquired.  “Are there not five Paladins?”
“There are,” Pidge assured him quickly.  “Lance and I are both Paladins, we just came together rather than finding other comp-- that is, Beloveds.”
“I see,” said the Evonrian on the right with a smile.  “Surely you must be the strongest of all the Paladins, in that case.”
“Um…”  Pidge wasn’t sure how to respond to that.
“We’re not, like, together together,” Lance corrected, a little too quickly for Pidge’s liking.  The two Evonrians grimaced, turning and walking away without another word.
“That might not have been the wisest thing to say,” Pidge said drily.  “It looks like, for tonight at least, we have to act like we really are together together.”
A pair of voices rang out through the room in unison.  “Attention!  Dinner will be served shortly!  Please be seated!”
Pidge and Lance made their way through the crowd to claim a seat at one of the many small, square tables.  Each table had one double chair per side, providing seats for a total of eight guests.  Pidge and Lance ended up with a pair of Evonrians to their right, two somewhat awkward-looking, vaguely birdlike creatures across from them, and Keith and Allura to their left.
As soon as everyone was seated, Evonrian waiters emerged from doors all along the opposite end of the room from where the Paladins had entered, each pair carrying an enormous serving platter.  As they dispersed throughout the room, quiet music began to play from hidden speakers, and a low murmur of conversation began to fill the air.
The Evonrians at Pidge’s table broke the awkward silence that had hung over the four pairs.  “So, tell us about your Beloveds,” said one with greenish hair and huge eyes.
“Yes, how did your connections come to be?” asked the other, a thin Evonrian man with a long nose.
One of the birdlike aliens let out a long squawk, cleared her threat, and tried again.  “Krawwik and I have known each other all our lives.”
“Brekk and I were destined to be together from the moment we were hatched,” Krawwik agreed.
The Evonrians nodded as one.  “And what of you, Paladins?” Long Nose inquired.
Pidge and Lance exchanged an uncomfortable look, unsure how to respond.  Meanwhile, Allura leaned her head against Keith’s shoulder.  “When Keith and I first met, he wasn’t very trusting, but he gradually has opened up to me, and we have grown quite close.”
Keith nodded, resting his head on top of hers.  “I still can’t believe that out of everyone Allura could have chosen, she fell for me.”
Seeming satisfied, the Evonrians turned their attention to Pidge and Lance.  “What about the Green and Blue Paladins?” Huge Eyes pestered, and it seemed almost like a challenge to Pidge.
Fortunately, they were interrupted by the arrival of food.  A pair of Evonrian waiters set their enormous platter on the table, lifting the cover to reveal… berries.  Heaps of berries of every color and shape imaginable, and absolutely nothing else.  Eight large, scoop-like spoons with short handles ringed the platter.  The Evonrians each grabbed a scoop and began to alternate between feeding themselves and each other.
Lance made an alarmed, strangled noise.  “How are we supposed to do that?” he asked anxiously.
Pidge hummed thoughtfully.  “It’s like that time when Allura cuffed us all together to eat.  What did we do then?”
Lance gave her a blank look.  “Didn’t we start a food fight?”
Pidge smirked. “I seem to recall that we did.”
Lance’s eyes widened.  “I see where you’re going with this…”
As one, Pidge and Lance seized spoons, filled them with heaping scoops of berries, and flung their tasty projectiles across the table, where they splattered across the stunned faces of the Evonrians.  Allura gaped at them, a horrified expression on her face.  “What did you just do?!” Keith exclaimed, his voice drenched with shock.
After a very pregnant pause, Huge Eyes spoke.  “You challenge us to food combat?”
“Um… we challenge everyone to food combat!” Pidge declared, hoping this wouldn’t end up getting her thrown in prison or worse.
“Every pair for themselves!” Lance agreed.
“Then let us begin!”  Quicker than a blink, Long Nose began hurling berries at Pidge and Lance, his many tiny arms a blur.  She stood, tugging Lance over to hide behind Keith and Allura, who soon joined the fray.  Within minutes, the food combat became an all-out food war, all thoughts of eating abandoned as berries flew through the air, staining everyone's fancy clothes, not to mention the walls, floor, and ceiling.
Pidge and Lance stood in the midst of it all, laughing hysterically at the chaos they had caused, their hands still clasped together.  Grinning, Lance squeezed Pidge’s hand.  “This turned out more fun than I was expecting.”
Pidge giggled.  “Who would have thought the uptight Evonrians would get so into a food fight?”
Lance shrugged.  “And who would have thought my Beloved would be the one to start it?”
Pidge froze.  “Am I?”
“Are you what?”
“Your Beloved.”
“According to the Evonrians, yes!”  Lance started to laugh, but stopped when he saw the look on her face.  His expression turned thoughtful.  “Yeah, I think you are.”
That night, the Paladins and their Beloveds returned to the Castle completely worn out but in a good humor.  Rather than dispersing to their rooms, they gathered in the lounge, separating to collapse on the sofas.  Only Pidge and Lance remained connected, and Hunk noticed.  “You two realize you can let go now, right?”
Pidge laughed.  “Of course,” she replied, “but who says we want to?”
He Is Our What?!
Voltron Legendary Defender (Klance story)
Just an idea that had been floating around my head. XD
What would you do if you woke up with a child y in your bed? Well, that is what just happen to Lance. You see after Keith left the team to join the Blade of Marmora, Lance cry to himself that night. He wishes someone besides Keith would comfort his loneliness, but that someone has to be Keith too. Well, Fate seems to grant him that wish and sent a five-year-old boy to Lance while he slept.
“Wha?!” Lance scream as he pulls up the sheet to see a five-year boy sleeping peacefully near him. Lance’s screaming woke up the unknown boy and Lance got a good view of the boy. He looks so similar to Keith except his eyes are blue like Lance and for some reason, his skin is sparkly or is Lance’s eyes just play tricks on him.
“Papa?” The boy asked, puzzled that his Papa looks different.
“Oh shit.” Lance cursed himself.
~~~
Shiro: So you are telling me that you just found tiny Keith in your bed when you woke up?
Lance: Yes!
Pidge: You sure you didn’t get birth and the boy magical grew overnight?
Lance: Pidge, I am a guy, and guys can’t get pregnant!
Boy: *reach out his hand to Shiro* Uncle Shiro!
Pidge: Oh boy, things just got more complicated.
Lance: *sent a glare at Pidge*
Pidge: Can I do a check on him?
Lance: Pidge, you get any close to this boy and I will make sure you regret will it.
~~~
Slav: This no doubts this child from an alternate reality.
Hunk: Okay, we get that but whose child is it?
Slav: Well, base on the appearance and eyes, I would have to say this child is Keith and Lance's child from an alternate reality.
Pidge: *yelling in the background* Hunk. you own me five gac!
Lance: He is our what?
Slav: Like I say, there is 25% of you two getting together, 10% of breaking up, 5% of one of you getting together, and 1% chance of you two having a child, also .5% between you two who will get pregnant with a child.
Lance: What about this reality? What is our chance?
Slav: That is for me to know and you to find out.
~~~
Lance: What is your name?
Boy: What are you talking about, Papa? I'm Laith, your son.
Lance: Okay Laith... I don't know how to tell you this but to tell you the truth. I am not your papa.
Laith: Then does Papa hate me?
Lance: What? No, of course not. At least I don't think the alternative me don't.
Laith: *start crying* Papa hates me...
Lance: *start to panic* No, I don't hate you. *Pick up Laith* I'm sorry.
Laith: *still crying*
Lance: Don't cry. Papa does love you. Why would he hate you?
Laith: *crying* Because Papa and Dada were fighting last night.  Papa was against Dada going on a mission alone.
Lance: *hug Laith and begin to cuddle him* Don't cry. Papa is here.
Laith: *still crying*
Lance: *Begin to sing Laith a lullaby."
Laith: *stop crying and listen to Lance's lullaby* Papa?
Lance: That's right, I am your Papa.
Laith: *Smile and close his eyes* I love you, Papa.
Lance: Me too, Laith
