I HATE YOU FUUTA. I hate these types of adult characters that are HORRIBLY BABIED BY THIER WHOLE FANBASE I HATE YOU ALLLLLLLLLLL “but! But! His grou-” is his full intent of harming killcheroy —a middle schooler trying out a hat— also from his group? The day yall admit he knew what he was doing by driving her to suicide is the day i can finally rest. Also If you do not know that harassment can lead to suicide how absolutely stupid can you be? I referenced both TL conversations and the interrogations for this. MVs are mostly ignored due to their overall vagueness and heavily relying on interpretation, but I do mention some MV-only characters on this list (ex. Haruka's victim).

Haruka:

Haruka's mother: The most important person in his life; the person he'd like to see most again in his current situation. His mother would have preferred a girl instead of a son. His childhood was improved due to her being 'nice'.

Haruka's father: Is still present in his family structure. Haruka feels like he 'disappointed him', but Haruka loves him.

Haruka's victim/Pigtails Girl: Haruka was jealous of her.

Yuno:

Yuno's father: Left her family very early into Yuno's life. She doesn't consider even having a father.

Yuno's mother and grandparents: Part of her regular family structure. Considers them family herself, loves them. Would like to see them again in her current situation, would spend money on eating with them.

Yuno's client(s): Brief appearance in Tear Drop. Are her clients, pay a large sum for these dates. Presumably also pay to sleep with her.

Yura: Yuno's little brother. Also part of her family structure.

Haruta: A boy she met in kindergarten and had a crush on.

Fuuta:

Fuuta's mother: Divorced his father, left the family. Fuuta doesn't remember much about her. Wishes to meet her one day.

Fuuta's father: Fuuta thinks of him as a pitiful, fragile old man. His main caretaker. Is a civil worker.

Fuuta's older sister: Part of Fuuta's current family. Is a beautician.

Fuuta's friends: Get passionate about the same things as him, have similar interests (such as gaming, soccer, & browsing the web). Met over the internet.

Fuuta's victim (Kilcheroy): Someone whose username ("Miss Magic" in Japanese) he saw often, a victim of Fuuta's witch hunt friend group. Seems to be a girl wearing a middle school uniform; younger than Fuuta. She was targeted for posing with a hat she did not pay for, leading Futa to assume she stole it, when in reality she asked the shop owner for permission before doing so.

Muu:

Muu's mother: Muu thinks of her as cool and pretty. Glad to have her as her mother. Is french; originates from Nice, FR. Is an ex-model. Muu sees her as a role model. Her and her husband are first on Muu's to-see-again list.

Muu's father: Muu thinks of him as kind. Glad to have him as her father. A landlord by profession, though also works 'importing furniture from other countries' (a higher-up at a furniture company)? Him and his wife are first on Muu's to-see-again list.

Sayu & Co.: Ex-Friends of Muu's. Would receive gifts from Muu and text with her, though later turned on her and started bullying her. (Possibly, Muu would like to see them again, though she doesn't specify who these friends she'd like to see again are.) Believes she should've chosen her friends more carefully.

Rei: Muu's victim. Their relationship is unclear, but Rei does not ever appear pleased being in Muu's presence. Muu stabbed her.

Shidou:

Shidou's wife: Describes her as part of 'a family as happy as you could dream of'. Met her in his neighbourhood, was a family friend. They met during their 2nd year of middle school and have not seperated since. Was "a strong person" Shidou relied on. His 4th partner in total. Is dead.

Shidou's children: There are two of them, both sons. Part of Shidou's happy family. Shidou loved them. Presumably dead.

Shidou's victims: Confirmed there are multiple victims.

Mahiru:

Mahiru's boyfriend: Her first ever relationship. She'd revive him if she could. They met in their university, he said it was fate. His hobby is running. He works at a 7/11 & his favorite movie is 'Your Name'.

Hair salon girl: A confidant of Mahiru's. She can talk about anything with her. Is older than Mahiru.

Mahiru's parents: Were 'a bit strict'. Mahiru describes herself as sheltered because of this. Mahiru is their only child.

Kazui:

Hinako Mukuhara: His former wife & victim. They worked together in the police force. She loved him, but he did not share her feelings. He was hoping their marriage could 'change' him.

Kazui's childhood friend: A friend of Kazui's who he looks up to. Has a boat they've gone trawling on together before. Supposes they must be feeling guilty about what happened, even if he claims this is all his fault.

Kazui's parents: Kazui assumes they must find him embarrassing. Does not consider them part of his current family structure. Kazui was either their only child or their eldest. His father wanted him to be a 'strong man', he was a policeman.

Kazui's elementary school teacher: A teacher he may have had a crush on (he says this uncertainly).

Kazui's family dog: A dog he had at his parents' place. Wow

Amane:

Yuuichi Momose: Amane's father, a 'reverend/lecturer'/high-standing figure in the cult. Has preached against medicine before. Is currently away on a trip, which Amane describes as a great honor for him. Part of her current family structure. Would like to see him again and wants him (or even expects him) to praise her. Amane believes he loved her.

Amane's mother: Part of her current family structure. Amane believes she [her mother] loved her. She lost her faith in the cult at some point.

Amane's victim (might be one of her parents): Amane does not regret killing them, sees it as having been her natural duty. She loved them.

The cat: A cat that appears alongside broken furniture in Purge March. She patched it up, to which it disappeared.

Mikoto:

Mikoto's mother: Is divorced from his father, raised him and his sister. He gets along well with her. Presumably, Mikoto has moved away from home and sometimes calls his mother when he doesn't have to work.

Mikoto's sister: Younger than him, currently going to high school. Mikoto thinks of her as brilliant.

Mikoto's boss: Appears in Double. Seems to have put a lot of pressure on him.

Mikoto's victims: There were multiple victims. Killed near a train station.

Orekoto/John: Mikoto's alter. Aims to protect Mikoto. Has stated he 'emerged due to Mikoto's stress' and will 'disappear if they are voted innocent'. Mikoto does not seem to remember John's times fronting.

Kotoko:

Kotoko's family: Her current family structure consists of her grandmother, her father, her mother, and her older brother. Has not elaborated on her family.

Mikio Oshii: scammed elderly people for money, once pushed an old woman to escape. Is the first person to be seen get beaten up by Kotoko.

Kotoko's victim: A serial killer who targeted young girls and would leave their bodies outside their homes. His father was in a position of power (can't remember which one), making it difficult for his case to be dealt with. Is probably on his 30s.

notes about the meanings of everyone's poses are under the cut!

akio: akio doesn't have an umbrella, he just has his hood on and he has this angry look on his face. back in season 1, akio just wanted to be voted innocent and truly believed he deserved to be forgiven and even though being voted guilty made him change as a person, he still doesn't care about the "moral side" of his verdicts, since now he just wants to be forgiven because being punished again can literally cost him his life. he still doesn't want to do anything with the guards or the verdict system, so he doesn't have an umbrella, but he still doesn't want to die, so at least he has his head covered.

shun: shun was very happy when the guards voted him innocent, since he believed his crime wasn't a crime at all and his thoughts were affirmed. however, he got "betrayed" by the guards since they decided to vote him guilty in season 2. this is why he has his umbrella lying on the ground: he really believed that the guards will still be on his side, but he was wrong.

kei: kei is holding his umbrella. he is accepting his verdicts. even though he was voted guilty by his own brother and brutally punished by him as well, he loves him too much to get mad at him. it also looks like he's offering his umbrella to shun which might look cute OR look like a reminder of how unhealthy their relationship is (kei was more than happy to flirt with shun back in season 1 and shun just acted shy and claimed to be taken, but in season 2, shun gladly joined eiko when she started to basically bully kei and shun got a new outfit to look more like kei) but also.. kei is winking here. the eye that he has closed here is the same eye that shun lost because of kei. think about the implications <3

asahi: he has his umbrella closed, but he's still holding it. asahi doesn't like eiji and he sure will not like hinode, but he likes miki. she's the only guard that he cares about, but he cares about her A LOT. so you can interpret his pose as him still being suspicious of the other guards, but wanting to be as close with miki as possible.

riku: my boy doesn't have an umbrella AND he doesn't have his hood on. sure, riku wants to be forgiven, but also.. he understands that even an innocent verdict won't make his pain go away. in fact, he will most likely just hurt himself even more to keep making the guards feel sorry for him and continue forgiving him. a little spoiler for his trial 3 vd, but there's a moment when he says that there is no verdict that will help him or make his situation better. so his head is not covered, he doesn't have an umbrella with him and he's also holding his hand out to feel the raindrops. riku kuroki why are you like this

aimi: her pose is similar to asahi's and the meaning is similar as well: she only cares about miki. however, i tried to make her pose look a bit more desperate, like she's even more dependent on her than miki's own brother. aimi doesn't care about her verdict. she only cares about finally having a friend.

naomi: naomi has claimed multiple times that she doesn't care about her verdict and she doesn't care about the other prisoners' verdicts as well (not counting asahi. the fuck them kids mindset is still there) so she doesn't have an umbrella with her and it also looks like she's taking her hood off. however, i like to think as this naomi in particular as t2 naomi: getting an innocent verdict and starting to become more confident. confident enough to feel like you don't have to protect yourself anymore. she still got a guilty verdict though so maybe an umbrella wouldn't hurt.

eiko: oh this girl is so happy about her umbrella! look at the way she's holding it! this totally doesn't have anything to do with her obsession with eiji at all! eiko really doesn't care about the verdicts, but she loves her poor little meow meow too much, so she still cares about milgram in some way. there's also her brother being the fourth guard that never got an opportunity to actually do his job and the possibility of her parents having something to do with it.. her pose is also kinda similar to kei's pose which is a nice bonus since they're a pair.

yurika: THE GIRL IS NOT HAPPY ABOUT HER TWO GUILTY VERDICTS. she's the only prisoner that's sitting on the ground. she doesn't have an umbrella with her, showing that she HATES the guards and she HATES her verdicts (and how verdicts work in general), but she still has her hood on. the girl doesn't want to die. she REALLY doesn't want to die. (and her t3 vd will show it well </3)

reina: reina doesn't have an umbrella with her, which was to be expected from miss "i'm actually a serial killer hehe >:D please vote me guilty please please guys i'm begging i would rather die than live with the knowledge of what i've done". she doesn't care about the guards' opinions anymore. she does have her hood on, but in her case it's not related to her life, i simply thought it would fit her vibe well, since she's a person who finds it hard to be honest with others and is very secretive.

I have a vague idea about what's been going on but it's fair that it's been troubling you. If you want to know about the poem well...I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the full thing and it seemed rather personal to him so I'd feel bad if I just spilled his feelings so carelessly like that. The information about that other boy though is helpful. Thank you for that.

...memories are indeed a bit of a fickle thing aren't they Nell...I think a lot of people don't really know what to say so they just think forgetting or acting as if nothing happened is better. As if moving past it would fix anything or somehow return things to a state of normalcy. But that just makes it worse doesn't it? It just traps things in limbo forever.

Or at least that's what I think. Admittedly I'm a bit of a hypocrite there but it is something I think about.

“Nell? Nell… Are you going to stay in there all day too?”

I shrug at the question. It wasn't much of an answer to the one knocking on the door. Who was even asking this time? All the voices had begun to blend together.

I couldn’t even hear myself think anymore.

“Now, that’s no good. If you don't do your job, you'll break.” Lope's voice broke through my haziness.

Break? That'd probably be nice. I didn’t know what to do. A heavy bundle flooded onto me.

“Ah, you seem to be troubled. You’ve been ignoring answering as well. For someone as young as you that must be taxing.” Lope said and I shrugged. “Well don’t worry, I’m back. I’ll alleviate it now.”

The throbbing in my temples finally subsided. All of it was so loud I couldn’t even understand it. I looked down on to see Lope looking up at me with pity.

“Do you not have your aid?” he asked as he looked around.

“I haven’t used it in a while.” I muttered.

His ears perked up at that and he gave a small laugh, “Ah I take it you enjoy the bombardment then or maybe you feel like you deserve it.”

At this point despite everything falling in place for me to succeed I’m gonna fail. I’m not gonna be able to keep my promise, “Do you think there’s some reason I wouldn’t deserve it?” I muttered out the question.

At times like these my mind betrayed me pulling up all the things I'd rather forget. I wondered what you’d say or think about this ridiculous situation. I wondered if-

“Either way…I hope Jackalope didn’t give you too much hell…prisons been in a….state….I’ve been wondering though…why do you want Milko to be guilty exactly?”

If- It’s way too loud I can’t. I can’t it hurts- Lope startled in my lap as I clung to him.

“Nell?” I jumped back releasing Lope as someone put their hand on my shoulder. I looked to the side to see him staring at me with concern, “You alright?”

“Ah, great timing Milko. Cheer up this depressed kid. I can’t have people dying here.” Lope badgered Milko but it’s not like he could hear the thing.

Despite his clear worry he looked to be doing much better.

I tried to say something but couldn’t. My mouth moving but no words came out. The next thing I knew he’d wrapped his arms around me, “It’s alright. Everything is okay, right now. It’s fine.”

“This is so embarrassing…” I muttered as I clung to his shirt, “I- I tried. I really tired..” my own sobbing grated on my ears.

“I know, I know. I heard all about it.” he spoke low and calm. “You’ve been doing so much while I was gone. Especially with all those requests being made. You did such a great job.”

No, I didn’t.

I was just going through the motions. I had tuned out. Ignored my duties. I did exactly what my mom always tells me not to. I got my hopes up expecting things to go one way and then got upset as soon as it went off track. The very moment things were out of my control I crumbled.

I didn’t do anything right…

I just focused on things that came easiest. I ignored everything. Except I’ve never been good at ignoring stuff. I’m not good at anything. Why is he lying… He’s comforting me as if I’m a simple child who doesn’t know any better.

I get it this is my fault… You can just say that. You can just yell at me too.

That's no fair... yelling at me like that.

I can handle it.

It wouldn’t be anything new… Why is he being so nice? I know I’m weird. I can barely express myself. I have inappropriate reactions to things. I smile when something is scary and cry at times no one understands. So, why.

Why not just say I’m weird and leave it at that? Why did you?

Cold, it was so cold… The growling in my stomach had distracted me from the chill as something big was wrapped around me. It was tight. It was comfortingly heavy.

“Nell, Nell?”

Huh? When did I fall asleep? I pushed against Milko’s chest annoyed, “I- I’m not a kid- I don’t need to be held and encouraged like that.”

As usual he relented quick, “Sorry, sorry- You just looked a bit upset is all.”

“Yeah, right the only person who looks upset all the time is you. I’m fine- Go away I have work.”

“Gotcha, I gotcha. Guess I’ll leave you to it.” he said while giving my head a rough pat, “Don’t overwork yourself to exhaustion okay. You didn’t really sleep that much… So be careful.”

I looked him up and down… The bags under his eyes had lightened up a bit was solitary better for him. He motioned towards the floor to the left of him, “I got your helmet back from Geraud and Daniel. They said you gave it to them. What was that about? I thought you liked this thing you said it was cool.”

I looked at objects in the room to avoid meeting his gaze, “It just felt kind of lame.”

I didn’t want to say it made me feel more emotionless than I already was. It’s an all-black helmet after all… No, one can see my expressions or hear me when it’s on but I can hear everything around me and see fine.

At first, I thought it was a good thing.

It was kind of like having my own space. But…

“Man doesn’t this thing get lonely to wear? I don’t get how you don’t feel invisible in it.”

It was a harmless question that Geruad had asked after using it. I hadn’t thought of it that way before. Probably because I always felt invisible to some extent. I didn’t say it, but the question annoyed me.

“That’s little kid stuff I’m over playing around in that thing and Milgram. It’s all stupid.” I laid back in my bed folding my arms, “It’s not like none of it matters. It’s not-” As though taking accountability for stuff changes anything.

“Huh… What the hell? Who am I supposed to talk about it with if not you?” Milko’s irritated voice caused me to look at him. He wore a frustrated frown on his face and was glaring at the door, “This is someone’s here fault, isn’t it? What the hell did they say to you while I was gone?”

Why was he so irritated- It’s like a switch had flipped.

“Did someone tell you that your helmet was lame? Was it Geraud? Those dumb voices- Tell me who said it?” he demanded before calming a bit... “I get the Milgram thing. I do. It’s hard to like it when in a situation like this. I really get that… But... Nothing it doesn’t matter. Sorry for bothering you. You don’t have to answer that I’ll figure it out on my own.”

Before I could even reply he’d walked out in a huff after placing my helmet on the nightstand. I looked at the helmet with a tinge of guilt. I’d ignored all this for so long. I bet they’d be mad.

It’d been months since I answered anything… Honestly, this sooo isn’t fair.

I pulled the helmet over my head and looked at the messages I’d been avoiding. I’d mostly been hearing a garbled mess of nonsense for the last several months. Like what was even going on in the outside world at this point. Vinya getting all excited about missing people reports. If anything, I thought that’d make her flip out more given her situation but she’d relaxed a lot.

I wonder how my mom was taking it... I hadn't mustered up the courage to look into it myself.

I have a vague idea about what's been going on but it's fair that it's been troubling you. If you want to know about the poem well...I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the full thing and it seemed rather personal to him so I'd feel bad if I just spilled his feelings so carelessly like that. The information about that other boy though is helpful. Thank you for that. ...memories are indeed a bit of a fickle thing aren't they Nell...I think a lot of people don't really know what to say so they just think forgetting or acting as if nothing happened is better. As if moving past it would fix anything or somehow return things to a state of normalcy. But that just makes it worse doesn't it? It just traps things in limbo forever. -Nott

Ah yeah I remember this one… It’s annoying. Why are you telling me you know something about Milko I probably won’t ever know. Was it to show off? I was curious about it at the time but replying would have just been throwing a tantrum. Something I understood was undeserved given the statement. Yet it annoyed me it annoyed me a lot. . .

I’m sick of this… Am I Milko’s guard or not?!

Nayo got to pester Daniel all of the time but the minute I have any say in a situation the person disappears. It’s always like this. Now I have to hear about things I know nothing about again from others.

It doesn’t matter how much I try…

“Oooo what a pouty look. What are you sulking about? Get an upsetting text from your penpal? Huh, huh~” Zareth asked curiously and Nayo hit him on the shoulder.

She cleared her throat for a moment, “What did we talk about?” she asked giving Zareth a pointed stare.

“That I shouldn’t tease people for being in emotional distress. It’s rude. God, you’re such a killjoy- Go away!” He tried to wave her off as she ground her teeth in frustration.

“I am not a killjoy.” Nayo emphasized each word harshly while grinding the heel of her foot into the ground, “Now ask properly.”

Zareth rolled his eyes before speaking in monotone voice, “Nell, it appears something may be troubling you. Would you like to discuss it with me? An individual who will take no pleasure in your plight.”

“What is this dog training? Socialization? Are you trying to teach him of all people how to get along with others? Ya, know what I actually don’t care-” Ina spoke for a moment before dismissing her own questions, “Nell, come confide in me someone who will take blatant joy in hearing the mess instead of being two-faced and acting like they won’t.”

“How about you all just leave him alone and shut up. Clearly none of you have any interest in helping. Come on let’s get out of here.” Geraud said as he begun to drag me off. He walked us all the way over back to our room before I took a seat on the floor.

“I wasn’t pouting. Just because a kid looks upset doesn’t mean they’re pouting. What a stupid thing to say.” I muttered as I crossed my arms. I tossed the stupid helmet to the side with an annoyed noise. I’m not pouting. I’m barely even upset.

“I mean usually I’d agree but you are literally pouting. What the heck is the matter? You of all people should know since we’re the youngest here we can’t go causing trouble. It’ll immediately be blamed on our age.” I avoided looking at Geraud, “Really the silent treatment now. This is so childish. I thought you were more reasonable than this.”

Annoying; he’s being so fucking annoying. “Yeah, well maybe you thought wrong. It’s not like you actually know me. So, don’t talk like you do.” I growled out the words.

It seemed rather personal to him.

I was the one that was meant to figure it out. That’s why Milko choose me to pair up with not somebody he can’t even hear.

“I don’t know you. Really?” I kept quiet at his question, “We have lived together for longer than I’ve been around my own family, but I don’t know you?! You’re serious right now?”

Like that was any of my business. It’s not like I really talked about myself around the others.

“Okay- Let me list what I know about you then you say if it’s correct or not?”

This is stupid. I wanted to say it but the words wouldn’t come out. What would this prove… Nothing it wouldn’t prove a thing. He’d probably say all the same old assumptions and I’d be sitting here with my feelings hurt.

“You cook breakfast for people in the morning despite not liking breakfast foods. You hate groups of people unless it’s communal dining. You act all quiet but want to be bothered by others. You’ve enjoyed every part of being here. You are for some fucking reason attached to Milko- I can’t understand it but what am I supposed to say- Any misses so far?”

Shut up, why won’t he just shut up.

“You’re good at most schoolwork but only as good as you need to be to get it done and move onto something you enjoy. You couldn't be more bored with theater if you tried to be. Yet, you keep encouraging people to do it because they’re having fun. If people don’t talk about something you’re interested in you tune out the entire conversation. I bet you’re not even listening right now!”

When is Milko going to be back I don’t like this.

“And not like it’s any of my business but I think you just cling to Milko so much because you fucking despise people your own age!”

“Shut the fuck up, Geruad.” I grumbled the words the low.

“What was that? I couldn’t hear you-”

“I SAID SHUT UP!” I yelled while looking up at him and he backed off a bit, “You’re annoying all kids like you are annoying! You’re all the same trying to get to know me for no reason- then getting upset with what you see. Adult, kid doesn’t matter really- I’m sick of being seen by any of you.”

“I- I didn’t mean to-” he began to stammer.

“What happens when I stop fitting that idea you made and ran with with in your stupid head?! Are you going to try to shove me back into it? Will you get rid of me as soon as I don’t fit- What happens when I can’t live up to that expectation, huh?!” I couldn’t understand, “What is it you want from me exactly? Just tell me so I can do it and be done.”

“I, I- nothing sorry for being such a pain I guess.”

I glared at my helmet as he finally left our room.

I don’t get it I thought I was doing a good job… I thought I was the only one who could do it. I thought. . . Whatever. I curled in on myself a feeling of defeat washing over me.

“I don’t know anymore.”

If there’s someone else who can do it then just let them. It doesn’t matter I don’t matter. Why bother…

Miki: .. Yes. 

Hinode: So.. The trial hasn't even started yet, but we already had to go through a lot.

Miki: Y-yeah..

Miki: I mean, we had to expect something like this. It's the last trial, after all.

Miki: But still.. Everyone has changed so much.

Miki: And it's.. kind of our fault too.

Hinode: We had to punish the guilty prisoners somehow, you know that.

Miki: ...

Miki: I don't think you saw punishing them as a way to save them or the other prisoners.

Hinode: Huh?

Miki: Are you sure that you really don't like seeing other people in pain, Hinode-san?

Hinode: W-what are you talking about, Miki-san-

Miki: Never mind.I just hope Eiji-san comes back soon.

Hinode: .. This might be a weird question, but.. what kind of relationship do you two have? Are you close?

Miki: Eiji-san is very important to me. That's all.

Hinode: Do you like him?

Miki: .. *sighs*

Miki: I don't agree with most of the things he says. He can be really annoying. He's way too cruel when he punishes the prisoners. 

Miki: .. But I still want him to come back.

Hinode: So you do like him.

Miki: Guard 003, let's get to work already.

Hinode: U-uh, yes, sure.

Hinode: So.. It looks like the relationship dynamics between the prisoners have changed significantly.

Hinode: Those who were enemies are starting to become closer and those who were friends now hate each other's guts.

Hinode: Let's talk about the changes every prisoner went through during this period.

Hinode: Prisoner 001, Miyagawa Akio.

Hinode: Thankfully, Akio-san has started to get better.

Hinode: His injury isn't that bad anymore, but it's possible that it will still impact his life in.. not the best way.

Hinode: He still has to wear bandages just in case, but now we know that he has a pretty big scar there. 

Hinode: Thanks to him being voted innocent, according to Jackalope, he was able to receive treatment from someone we don't know yet, but since Akio-san's condition really is getting better with each day, I don't think that person is dangerous.

Miki: "I wonder who that person was.. Maybe a doctor that works here?"

Hinode: It's easier for him to walk now and his headaches aren't as bad anymore. He can finally read without anyone's help again and it also looks like he's not that obsessed with his accomplice anymore. I'm happy for him.

Hinode: He also seems to have changed as a person as well. He still prefers to spend most of his time alone, but he's not as.. "arrogant" anymore, maybe?

Hinode: Actually, it seems like he became closer with some other prisoners and not just Aimi-san.

Hinode: Those prisoners are Kei-san, Asahi-san and..

Hinode: .. Riku.

Miki: ...

Hinode: I knew about what happened between Akio-san and Riku before the second trial, so I was also.. shocked.

Hinode: However, Akio-san was the one who saved Riku when he tried to do.. that to himself, so maybe Riku is actually somewhat grateful to him?

Hinode: Looks like Aimi-san was a good influence on Akio-san, haha.

Miki: But what about Miyagawa-san's relationship with Aimi-chan?

Hinode: .. Well, let's talk about her then, shall we?

Hinode: Prisoner 002, Hanasaki Aimi.

Hinode: Aimi-san has been voted innocent, and to be honest..

Hinode: It seems to have really changed her as a person.

Hinode: Or maybe that's actually her letting her true colors show?

Hinode: I've expected her to be more happy about her only friend being voted innocent, but now that Akio-san is close with other prisoners and seems to have found friends in this place..

Hinode: .. Aimi-san is feeling lonely again now.

Hinode: She doesn't talk to Akio-san that much anymore. She doesn't talk to anyone actually.

Hinode: .. Except you, Miki-san.

Hinode: She seems to like you a lot.

Miki: .. Yes, she does.

Miki: She always says how I'm her "only friend" and that I'm the only person in this place who she can trust.

Miki: If I accidentally call her "Hanasaki-san" she stares at me with this weird look in her eyes and makes me call her "Aimi-chan" because "that's what I'm supposed to call her as her friend".

Miki: I just.. don't get it. I thought that if we vote her innocent, she'd act more..

Hinode: I think she's acting like this exactly because we voted her innocent.

Hinode: Aimi-san now thinks that she was in the right. She has been voted innocent twice now, of course she would think that.

Hinode: Of course she sees you as a friend. Because friends forgive each other.

Hinode: And even though you have.. also changed, you're still kind to her no matter what.

Hinode: So it's possible that..

Hinode: ...

Miki: What's wrong, Hinode-san?

Hinode: .. So, her brother thought that her classmates deserve to die for treating her like that, right?

Hinode: But what if he thought they deserve to die not only for bullying her, but also.. 

Hinode: .. For not being her friends?

Hinode: And since she killed him for "betraying her trust" in a way and doing something a friend wouldn't do..

Miki: .. She believes it's okay to hurt and even kill someone if they refuse to be friends with her?

Hinode: Possibly.

Hinode: And considering that she's been spending most of her time in her cell lately and writing something..

Hinode: .. Who knows what she's planning. 

Hinode: Now.. 

Hinode: Prisoner 003, Ishizu Shun.

Hinode: Well, this one has caused us a lot of trouble.

Hinode: He really didn't take being voted guilty well.

Hinode: Considering his memory problems, his memory loss is much worse compared to other guilty prisoners.

Hinode: Thanks to the way this machine works, we can also watch the recording of him getting his memory erased for the first time.

Miki: Do we.. really have to watch it?

Hinode: I found some of the things he said very interesting, Miki-san. We are the guards of this place, so we have to pay attention to everything the prisoners say.

Hinode: I don't know if it's because I'm not that physically strong, but I really felt like Shun-san was going to kill me.

Miki: If something happened to you, we would have two injured guards to deal with. I didn't want that.

Hinode: Haha, understandable.

Hinode: So, I guess now we know his victims' names. 

Miki: There's something that bothers me about this.

Hinode: Really? What is it?

Miki: .. Why did he sound so worried about Hina-san's new boyfriend?

Miki: Actually, from what I remember, in the end of his second video, he was eating cake with both of them. And he looked happy and didn't mind Jouhei-san's company.

Miki: If he believed that Jouhei-san was a bad person who didn't deserve Hina-san, why would he want to spend time with him? Why would he worry about him?

Hinode: Maybe he actually liked them both, haha.

Miki: What was that?

Hinode: Never mind, that sounds stupid.

Hinode: It's just.. Shun-san likes both Kei-san and Eiko-san, right? And he also really wants to be loved..

Hinode: I feel like it wouldn't be out of character for him to be in love with both his "ex-girlfriend" and her new boyfriend even if he hated him at first.

Hinode: But that's just a theory~

Miki: .. Hinode-san, we're having a serious conversation here.

Hinode: Haha, sorry, sorry.

Hinode: Anyway, it took a while to make Shun-san go back to his cell and he actually tried to run away, believing that there must be some sort of exit.

Hinode: And when he actually did get his memories back..

Hinode: .. The first thing he did was attacking Kei-san right after he saw him eating with everyone.

Hinode: He really hated the fact that Kei-san got voted innocent while him and Eiko-san got voted guilty.

Hinode: .. He chose the wrong person to attack, however. Kei-san really did suffer from the consequences of being voted guilty in the past, but he can still fight back as long as he has a weapon.

Hinode: So, uh...

Hinode: M-maybe attacking Kei-san when he had something sharp in his hand wasn't the best idea.

Hinode: Oh well, at least they match now when it comes to eye injuries.

Hinode: Except Shun-san's eye is.. Uh..

Hinode: Pretty much gone-

Miki: Can we stop talking about it?

Hinode: Fine, fine.

Hinode: So, we can confidently say that Shun-san is one of the most dangerous prisoners right now. His relationship with Eiko-san is getting more and more weird too..

Hinode: He actually doesn't talk to anyone except Eiko-san now. He avoids Kei-san too, but every time he sees him, he looks angry and.. heartbroken, maybe?

Hinode: Looks like he really did like him.

Hinode: So, Prisoner 004, Chiba Naomi.

Hinode: Let's watch the recording first, since she got her memories taken too.

(Naomi: ...

Hinode: Okay, I think we're done.

Hinode: Naomi-san, how are you feeling?

Hinode: Naomi-san-

Naomi: .. M-mom?

Naomi: Mom, I'm sorry, I..

Naomi: *starts crying* I am so sorry.. for failing you..

Naomi: I just.. I don't know if I..

Naomi: W-where am I? W-where is my mother?

Hinode: Calm down. Can you remember who you are?

Naomi: U-uh..

Naomi: M-my name is Chiba Naomi. I am 30 years old. I'm an elementary school teacher. I live in-

Miki: The first thing she did when we took her memories was start crying for her mother..

Miki: I didn't know Chiba-san was so attached to her.

Hinode: I don't think she was attached to her in a good way though.

Hinode: The way she acted after losing her memories was very interesting.

Hinode: It's like.. At the same time she was more anxious, but she also was very friendly with all the youngest prisoners, even Asahi-san.

Hinode: Perhaps it's because she didn't remember what happened to her victim and how he treated her, since we took more memories from her than we did in Shun-san's case. 

Hinode: Maybe she used to see her victim in Asahi-san, but since she forgot about her crime, she started to like him more.

Hinode: But then she got her memories back and..

Hinode: .. The glass cat figure.

Hinode: She broke it and put the glass shards in Asahi-san's food when no one was looking.

Miki: ...

Hinode: Are you okay, Miki-san? 

Miki: My own little brother almost got killed, but sure, I'm okay.

Hinode: Got it, not okay at all, haha.

Hinode: Asahi-san was saved by Kei-san who noticed that something was wrong with the food and stopped him before he tried to eat it.

Hinode: I really didn't expect Kei-san out of all people to save him. You must be feeling very grateful to him.

Miki: .. I do, actually.

Miki: I did get him a strawberry milkshake as thanks later after that.

Hinode: This guy really made one prisoner lose an eye but saved another prisoner's life..

Hinode: Oh, by the way, let's talk about him now, shall we?

Hinode: Prisoner 005, Sanada Kei.

Hinode: His injuries are healing, thankfully, but I'm afraid there's not much we can do about his eye.

Hinode: Reina-san requested a new eyepatch for him, actually. A more.. uh, "cute" one, maybe?

Hinode: She really cares about him. At first she protected him from Yurika-san and now this..

Hinode: He got a new outfit and he feels much more comfortable in it now. 

Hinode: It's like he's back to "normal" but he's also more.. I'm not sure how to say it..

Hinode: It's like, now he has people he's actually close with and he sticks with them? 

Hinode: Though he is still very.. uh.. friendly with me, haha..

Miki: "I don't think Kei-san just wants to be friends with him.."

Hinode: But I think an innocent verdict really did have a good impact on him. He's still friends with Reina-san and he's now close with Asahi-san and some other prisoners as well.

Hinode: His relationship with them is much more healthy than whatever he had with Eiko-san and Shun-san.

Miki: .. I don't know if he will finally open up about his crime though.

Hinode: Well, Miki-san..

Hinode: Maybe he has a reason to be so afraid of talking about his crime.

Miki: Like what? And why do you think he's afraid of it and not just.. I don't know.. being mysterious, I guess?

Hinode: Well, let's think about it.

Hinode: Sanada Kei is a man who likes to be in control. When he sees someone he likes, he immediately tells them about it. He doesn't take no for an answer.

Hinode: .. But judging by how much he screamed during his punishment and how much pain it had caused him, he hates not being in control.

Hinode: Riku actually wanted someone to stop him. Maybe he even wanted it to be Akio-san. 

Hinode: Maybe he wanted it to be him so that he could make sure Akio-san is not mad at him and has forgiven him.

Hinode: Riku seems to have become more social again and he spends a lot of time with Akio-san, Kei-san and some other prisoners.

Hinode: She.. completely ignores us now.
