Before BFDI 1a was released, one of Jacknjellify's early videos is "Doo-doo-dee-doo" which is heavily inspired by Animusic; some may argue that it is an Animusic fan animation.
It's also been heard in BFDI itself, in one of the BFDIA episodes (BFDIA14 i think.)
Animusic as a series was greatly inspired by famous progressive rock bands from the 70s, namely Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
Therefore, BFDI, and by extension the whole OSC is a prog rock reference.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Konata (grinning): "Prog rock? It’s actually short for pregnant dog rock."
Kagami (doesn’t look up from her bento): "That’s not even remotely true."
Konata (leans in): "Think about it. Long, drawn-out wailing sounds. Sudden tempo shifts. Confusing and kind of stressful. Just like a pregnant dog giving birth in the woods."
Tsukasa (tilting her head): "That’s… oddly specific."
Miyuki (gently): "Actually, Konata-san, it’s short for ‘progressive rock,’ referring to the genre’s experimental and complex structure—"
Konata (interrupting): "I know what allmusic.com wants you to believe, Miyuki. But tell me ‘pregnant dog rock’ doesn’t vibe harder."
Kagami (deadpan): "It doesn’t."
