♱ ┊➞ Now as a host of a system that was formed by trauma I was thinking wouldn't any systems that aren't formed by trauma be invalid because it's a disorder that's formed by trauma? I'm not just talking about Endos, I'm talking about all, the "systems" I'm talking about are

♱ Mixed origin 

 mixed-origin, meaning they have multiple origins. This is also sometimes called "multigenic" or "polygenic".

There are more specific labels for mixed-origins. Such as chaogenic, which refers to an overall chaotic origin. There is also pangenic, which refers to having all origins, within the systems experience.

Isoscegenic refers to a system with one primary origin, but a few system members who don't fit into that origin. Originflux is a system whose origin changed over time. Supragenic is a system who was altered by a traumatic event but is not originally traumagenic.

♱ Endogenic

Endogenic is an umbrella term for an origin which involves something other than trauma. Some systems may identify as endogenic and nothing else. Most terms under this in the list count as endogenic.

♱ Spontaneus/Nihilumgenic

Spontaneous and nihilumgenic refer to a system which came out of nowhere.

♱  Innate/Protogenic

Innate or Protogenic is a system which was formed from birth

 ♱  Thoughtform/Created

Systems can be intentionally created, this experience is also called thoughtforms. This is more likely to be a specific subculture though rather than a specific origin, but some systems use created, thoughtform, or parogenic.

One such is tulpamancy, which refers to a fully autonomous and separated created headmate created by a host, called a tulpamancer.

Senpiamancy uses the same practices of Tulpamancy to create headmates(Excluding any metaphysical/spiritual techniques). The main differentiator between Senpia systems and Tulpa Systems is that Senpia systems believe that the creation of there Senpias/headmates is strictly rooted in a psychological/Neurological reasoning. Whereas Tulpa/Tulpamancy can be used to refer to groups of people that may either have a psychological or Metaphysical/Spiritual belief.

Another is daemonism, which involve a representation (or representations) of one's inner consciousness, soul, or internal dialogue. This is often in the form of an animal.

Parotraumagenic is a system intentionally created to deal with trauma.

Archogenic can also be used if the system feels like their system was created in a more artistic way.

O-System, a system of headmates who started as OCs, may be similar to this. So is Primagenic, a system centered around an original universe.

An unintentional created system is called catharigenic. This doesn't have any connection to tulpamancy. Some systems in the tulpamancy community may also refer to these as walk-ins.

Willogenic is a term referring to an intentionally created system. This doesn't have any connection to tulpamancy.

 ♱ Metaphysical/Spiritual

Some systems may form because of metaphysical or spiritual reasons. Some may call this metagenic, spirigenic, or aethergenic, while others just prefer spiritual or metaphysical.

This also includes soulbonding, which involves a fictional entity appearing in one's headspace. This is usually spiritual, but may be psychological as well.

Walk-ins, headmates which seem to come in from another location, also usually fit under this. These can also count as gateway systems. Pariogenic is a term for a system full of them.

There are also origins which involves souls. Psychegenic refers to a system caused by being multiple souls in one body, seelegenic refers to a system with an origin caused by a soul splitting into parts.

 ♱ Exotraumagenic refers to a system which formed from exotrauma, which is trauma that occurred outside of the body, often for metaphysical reasons.

Cosmogenic is also metaphysical, referring to coming from the stars.

 ♱ Xeno-origin

Xeno-origin refers to origins that are more lesser known, and usually more personal and specific. These usually can fit into some of the other categories as microlabels.

People treat this real thing like a xenogender and it’s not just something you can make a cute flag for and just are. This is a real disorder and you need trauma to “get” it. If your system isn’t formed by trauma you ARE NOT a system. It's okay if your OCs are alters but don't make it a whole system type. All this nonsense is making my head hurt ╰ ˚₊‧⁺⋆♱

Elements of last night's dream:

* The King of All Beasts, named Kazu and also "The Two Brothers" in a nonexistent language in which the word for "two" also means "all numbers," referring to Kazu's status as a gestalt being comprised of all possible beasts. Its base form for most of the dream looked kind of like if Keith Haring had drawn "My Father's Dragon," but the dragon had two heads and no wings. Sometimes it was Mr. J or Cerberus instead.

* It was Cerberus because this was a Persephone-and-Hades retelling in which Persephone was a normal woman who died and decided to assassinate Hades. She eventually succeeds, but first must kill a bunch of other Cthonic gods taking the forms of people she loves, as well as Kirk and Spock, who had been created and trapped there via the psychegenerative actions of a prior dead person who'd tried to kill Hades. (It eventually becomes obvious that this earlier assassin was also Persephone, as her behavior has been warping the nature of time and identity in the underworld.)

* A woman named Voice or Motion who is a sort of avatar of chaos and creation who Persephone creates by accident. She is born full-grown and immediately begins reshaping the underworld to suit her "mother." She looks like Blue from The Raven Cycle. The next time she's seen, she's stage-managing a play in which one of Persephone's friends is beheaded when the character he's playing dies. Because everyone is already dead, this is fine, but it upsets Persephone.

* Persephone has a cat who comes to the Underworld with her for reasons she doesn't initially examine carefully. After she realizes that she has successfully killed Hades (it takes a while because his shade looks the same and is angrily pretending to still be alive), she acknowledges that it was pretty unfair of her to use her new powers to summon the soul of her cat to the underworld to suffer horrible torments with her. The cat agrees, revealing that it has long since learned to talk (and that this is basically a "Wizard of Oz" retelling, too, because Toto does this in the books).

* Persephothy wonders how she's supposed to deal with Hades now that she's killed him and kinda rules his domain; she discusses this with Captain Kirk, who reasonably points out that she can just ignore the guy. The dream ends with her deciding that she is probably not going to do that, but putting it off to go hang out with some other dead people.

Addressing the recent anti-endo stance of the "Alterhuman Things!!" Discord server and misinformation.

The events were covered in more detail by a member of the server here.

Discrimination against endogenic systems isn't new. Especially on Discord. And not just in system or even alterhuman spaces. I've seen people talk about endogenic systems being witch-hunted and banned across Discord servers that have nothing to with systemhood or alterhumanity. This is just the latest in a long line of discriminatory servers.

Although it's especially frustrating here given the close links between the alterhuman and plural communities, and how both groups are often fakeclaimed and have our identities dismissed and invalidated.

Even more so when it's from a server which touts morals of respecting the beliefs of others, and claims to be friendly to anyone exploring their identity.

I'm not going to go over the entire controversy. I wasn't a part of it and can't confirm the full context. But I do want to address the inaccurate and defamatory statements made against endogenic systems.

There are two main points I want to address here. One is the psychological basis for the experience of endogenic multiplicity, while the other is on the terminology.

Current Theories on Non-Disordered Plurality.

While the owner of the server says they don't think people are "inherently invalid" in their experiences, they also suggest at the same time that the only way to have headmates is to have trauma-formed dissociative disorders.

This is untrue.

The ICD-11, which is the primary diagnostic manual around the globe and is created by the World Health Organization, describes alters as "personality states." It also makes it clear that having multiple "distinct personality states" is not inherently pathological.

In addition, the creators of the Theory of Structural Dissociation, the current lead theory in the origin of dissociative identity disorder, have also noted that being interpreted as spirits in mediumship may be "self-conscious dissociative parts of the personality."

Both the creators of this theory and the World Health Organization acknowledge that other forms of multiplicity exist. Or at least could exist, in the latter case. Some forms of non-disordered psychological multiplicity is actively being studied, such as tulpamancy. This research is still ongoing but is believed by researchers to be a real psychological phenomenon.

Non-disordered plurality has also been written about by psychiatrist Eric Yarbrough in his book Transgender Mental Health.

Who can call themselves plural?

The second big issue with the above post is claiming that calling ourselves plural is just a "misuse of vocabulary," which frankly, is even grosser to me than the pseudo-fakeclaiming.

So let's just set the record completely straight here: "Plural" is OUR word!

The first systems to refer to themselves as plural were doing so as a rejection of "multiple" and the medical model of multiplicity.

And there is a truth to that last line that holds true even today. That the power to name is the power to define and describe reality. It's why anti-endos try so hard to claim exclusive rights to terms they didn't create like "plural," "headmate," "fictive," "factive," and others that originated from non-disordered plurals.

These are attempts at stealing our power to name ourselves and define our experiences.

It's incredibly frustrating to me to be part of a community that coined terms to describe our experiences and then have people try to tell us that we're using the wrong vocabulary.

Additionally, Pluralkit, like Simply Plural and most other apps, spaces and organizations that use the term plural, is pro-endo and open to be used by any systems.

A Choice On Discrimination

We've established that experiences of non-disordered plurality is a real psychological phenomenon according to multiple psychiatrists and the World Health Organization. We've established that the term plural originated first with non-disordered plurals.

These facts are not in dispute.

What matters now is what you choose to do with this information. Not just the people who run this particular server, but those who run any servers with systems present.

There is an army of bigots out there who will demand that you discriminate and ban people for neurodivergences or their spirituality. If this were merely one server, I could have simply sent this in a DM and called it a day, but it's unfortunately an epidemic that constantly places people, often singlets, into these difficult positions where they feel they need to make these choices. Often with incomplete information if not just outright disinformation fed to them by anti-endos.

So this is it. You have the information necessary to make an informed decision. Your choice is that you can support a marginalized community that faces backlash often just for existing, a community with a strong overlap with the alterhuman community... you can uphold the values you claim to have of respecting people's beliefs and supporting those exploring their identities...

Or you can take the side of bigotry and discrimination. Join in those who want to discriminate against a marginalized community for our crime of existing.

In the end, the decision is yours to make.
