This is a roleplay blog for Simulation!Evbo_ from the "Minecraft But It's A Simulation" series on youtube. I am in no way claiming to be the CC and this is not a fictionkin/system blog. Just a silly guy telling a story about our favorite evil Evbo.

Finally glad the mouthwashing fandom-at least on here- is finally coming around to see the idea that neither curly or jimmy are completely innocent nor should be babied or completely villainized because to do that you'd need to *checks notes*

Completely ignore how mouthwashing is a story of how systems of abuse are kept in power. Particularly rape culture and the patriarchy that encourages these actions while also encouraging bystander effect from other men close to predators...which is all encouraged under a system like capitalism.

I have a question, if I may be so bold: Do you prefer the arts whose twists are foreshadowed, or ones that burst forth from nowhere with unrestrained energy? My Lord Huin prefers the former, while I much prefer the latter. Now we cannot watch the same entertainment as he gets mightily upset when I call the plot of his omnishow in the first five minutes.

I think that there is often a careful line with regards to plot twists in fiction. Good twists I find are clearly rooted in the fiction. Primor Kalina betrays her alliance with House Valin, and it feels good because we know that she is far more ambitious than wise, and House Valin has fallen out of favor with the Patronage, and they had been feuding with House Lenore, whose holdings we know she envies. However, they are not the expected paths. She has always been quite hostile to House Lenore, and the disfavor House Valin faces is based on slander, and Primor Kalina has been the most genuinely happy we have seen her in her relationship with the heir to House Valin. It makes more sense to expect her to side with them and attempt to take House Lenore's holdings in the process, but she does not and the twist feels earned.

I think that many twists fail either to be unexpected, and so they are boring and telegraphed, or fail to be grounded. Both of these are frankly equally boring to me, but I prefer a twist that is grounded and telegraphed to one that is unexpected and entirely based on nothing we knew prior.

Perhaps this is dodging the question. So be it. But I think the binary you have presented me conceals that both of the extremes here tend to be undesirable. We want the surprise, yes, but we also want the twists to be built into the plot.

So uh I think I accidentally made a voodoo doll of myself and gave it to my little brother as a gift. I've been getting pretty into crochet, and I was making my little brother a doll for his birthday, and accidentally pricked my finger as I was embroidering the doll. I didn't notice anything strange until I gave the doll away to my brother and he started playing with it. Pretty roughly, I might add. He likes to run his toy trucks over the doll. How can I sever my connection to the doll? Just stealing the doll from him feels rude

Real quick: you didn't make a voudou doll. Voudou what's called a "closed" practice that, as far as I'm aware, doesn't have sympathetic magic. You've created a "poppet", which is a catch-all term for a "sympathetic magical construct" as Ambrose calls them.

You might need to go to a witch over this. This isn't typically something you'd easily be able to untangle yourself. You could try placing the doll in a salt circle for three days. Hopefully he'd understand if you wanted to "fix" it!
