My controversial opinion is that the Batman mantle shouldn't be passed down at all, since it is too intertwined with Bruce's fundamental personality and being, to the point where anyone taking it up will always feel off or not exactly 'right'.

You know what's funny? MySims has literally so many elements that normally gives media huge fandoms

TONS of characters (so much shipping potential)

The fact that there are just a few canon facts about the sims and the rest is just free game

The interests that categorize the sims, like people love doing shit like *insert character* is SO *insert interest*

And so much more, yet finding mysims fans is like finding a rare pokemon. I personally blame The Sims because of how much they overshadow MySims

Regarding that twink getting railed in the Senate hearing room:

I can't be super happy because it's going to lead to various degrees of even more "they're sickly, sex-crazed vermin" discourse about gay men from both conservative politicians and just regular people. And OF COURSE it should not be his job to represent gay guys, as that is a role unfairly forced upon him by the marginalization of gay men...but it is a role he is in as a gay man working fairly high up in government, and he acted pretty grossly. Sex at work on someone else's desk is, generally, very bad.

On the other hand though he is an icon, a legend, and he is the moment. Having gay sex in the Senate is nothing short of an incredible and hilarious act of defiance, even if not intended as such. He got SPLIT OPEN right where RBG got confirmed to the supreme court, just like she would've wanted.

REASONS WHY I COULD NOT GET INTERESTED IN LEGEND OF KORRA. ( And yes I know the studio thought they were gonna get only one season and other issues but still.)

Warning: Spoilers and Really long.

1. Korra was able to bend three elements by the time she was 5. The Avatar usually wasn't found out until they were 13-16 which gives them time until they are an adult to learn and grow. But having Korra being found out and just knowing how to bend elements like this bugged me. And I understand the southern tribe would have some updates, but it's still all ice. Fire could make sense since they use it in camps and Air is everywhere, but earth made no sense to me.

2. Okay...so now everyone can Bloodbend and Metalbend.

This really bothered me for the sole purpose that only Katara and Toph would know about these abilities. Toph we know taught others how to do this and even had an academy. But bloodbending was something Katara only used as a last resort and I don't think she ever uses it after hunting the man who killed her mother. Its a terrifying technique but definitely something she would teach to another. Now I know that a bender could have found out about this ability like Hana. But this was after being imprisoned for months to years. Not to mention bloodbending can only be used under a full moon. It's way to rare to make your villain have this ability and it never made sense to me.

3. Sokka, Aang, Suki, Azula and well alot of others.

I understood when this show was announced that Aang wasn't gonna be there physically but to take out two of the gang like Sokka and Suki. It really didn't help. And to show little to no scenes of them was really a let down. And a lot of beloved side characters who we just have to presume are either dead or just not around. One thing I thought would have been nice to see was Korra speaking to Yue, she is a water tribe avatar who probably learned of the sacrifice of Yue and in all honesty should have made some connection to them. Not a huge one but just anything.

4. Aang and the gang...being given crappy adulthoods.

Aang being a father who only favored Tenzin the most cause he was an Airbender never made sense to me. He had seen what that kind of thinking did with Zuko and Azulas parents. And yet he just kinda pushes Kya and Bumi away to make Tenzin the best. In truth he should have focused on all his children.

Katara teaching Kya and careing for Bumi was fine, but I really urked me that she was just a healer. We know she's hands down the best but she is the most prominent fighter as well. Not to mention she kinda gets benched by the white lotus (they kinda suck as well.) She and Korra should have had a deeper connection, instead Katara kinda gets forgotten.

Toph being a cop....the kid who was rambunctious and the rule breaker who literally was wanted for money scams. A cop. She could have been anything else and it would have been fine. But a cop...no no no.

Zuko not being Firelord was a bit of a wildcard idea in my opinion. He gave the title to his daughter Izumi. Okay fine but here's the issue. He still has power and influence but like Katara gets benched because of age. (A reminder that Bumi, Iroh and Pakku who were at the same age in the show were literally defeating the fire nation armies on their own)

5. Technology

I hated this. The original avatar show was conveying the beauty of nature and how traditional world building works with older designs showing through.But then they added cars, airships and Gundam suits. Gundam suits. I half expected Shinji to show up.

6. The Villians

S1: A Blood bender who wanted to end all Bending. Makes no sense

S2: Unalaq and Vaatu. Another bender wanting balance with a spirits power who we have never heard of or seen before. And oh yeah the avatar has a spirit of life we never introduced and now must make sure they live.

S3: Zaheer an Airbender who basically said fuck the police and order. Oh but let's follow my rules and order of the Red Lotus

S4: Kuvira a dictator who wanted to pull a the Earth kingdom is better than everyone so let's copy paste what the fire nation did.

I can't make any of this up. Those are your enemies.

7. The Team.

This kinda gets hurt because of how young they made Korra a known Avatar. She didn't learn from her team, she already knew how to bend the elements with only Tenzin having to help. That's it that's her team. Not Mako, Bolin or Asami. They didn't teach her in the traditional sense which hurts the connection to all of them.

8. The Relationships.

I'm gonna say this now. There is nothing wrong with Korra and Asami. Okay. But they could have made the relationships of all characters have more depth instead of love squares with all four in the team. Heck Aang and Katara didn't end up till the end. Toph had possible crushes on Zuko and Sokka. Sokka had all the game to get multiple possible partners. Zuko had to wait to see Mai again till season 3. No one needed to start dating in the first season.

9. The overuse of the Avatar State.

Korra literally used this to win a race with children. The powerful state with all avatars power and wisdom.... seriously.

The literal power move of all avatars in one collected system. Used to play. It would have been a good lesson to have Korra at 13 -16 using it like that and learning that the power is not invincible. She needed to understand that in the state she could die and end the cycle.

10. Lack of Fun.

Now I know Atla had serious moments and funny ones too. But it worked better because they would be serious when the time needed to be. Heck even in the final episode Sokka, Suki and Toph take out an airships crew by saying its someone's birthday with no one questioning it. And just drops them into the water below. It's funny but funny enough to work. I can't recall any jokes from Lok. Like not a single one. But I know everyone here can recall a hell of a ton of lines.

Hey my darlings, just a little rant I need to get off my chest before working, gosh woke up to a lovely morning with kiddos and our routine, and then found out an old family friend lost his fight with Cancer this morning. My kids and hubby didn't really know him, but I knew him since I was a small kiddo and he was kind to me, genuine kindness, folks like him are rare.

Anyhow after a bit of crying, calming down life goes on and I get a call from my mom from family drama of my grandmother, I love my grandma but the older she gets... the worse she is... she is so racist, and hates all men and prefers my daughter from my son because according to her all men are scum bags.. except my husband since he is pure white... me and my kids are mixed so not as good.... yeah my grandmother folks... Gosh I hope things calm down. I dont want her to come to Utah, dont want to have to deal with her....

Its been an emotional day so far..... I'm a little drained, hubby is working so I have to wait for him to cry properly and I cant let my kiddos see me stress, because they stress and my boy is super protective he panics if I cry, anyhow waiting for my knight to finish work, get home........ But again, life goes on......... now to draw.

Since I have been working on my fic with my OC and Elias, I have been doing so much thinking about Elias, and I need to go on a quick TMA rant:

I think jon and elias were a very shippable ship up until elias was like

"all of it is ur fault blah blah you chose this"

Because the day he stepped foot in the institute there wasn't much else he could do and that was so mansplain gaslight girlboss and they just aren't shitty enough for each other.

like yes, the ending was kinda fucked and jon did so much stupid shit with sort of good intentions but like sometimes he did those things knowing the wouldn't be a certain outcome like telling martin he would blind himself and leave with him.

anyway jon was such a man for that but also like I don't hate him because I think he managed what he could with what he had, and YES there were other options but no option was good.

Also! More on the avatars and connections to fears and losing humanity. I feel like when you look at the avatars and such you people whose flaws and sharp parts were sharpened and polished. Not to say they're all bad, they're all flawed! It's honestly so compelling how much is built into them. I do think, however, that those flaws become a much more defining characteristic in an avatar. For Jon, his inability to not do things on his own, Martin's indecisiveness and interdependence. There's just a lot of egoism if you ask me, but it just gets so much worse.

Anyway, no need to agree with me or anything, but yeah. Wanted to put it out there. Might be wrong and silly.

I hate harry potter. I hate how this fuckass bookseries has had such an impact on children's literature. I hate how this fuckass bookseries has had such an impact on me. I hate how my family is obsessed with it. I hate how I see harry potter stuff everywhere I look around my house. I hate how my family mentions it so often during conversation when I DON'T want to talk about it. I hate how people saw me as a massive harry potter fan even after I grew out of that phase. I hate that I had a massive harry potter phase. I hate how I still have so much harry potter merch even though I've tried removing it all from my room. I hate that when I try criticizing the books my parents (especially my dad) thinks that I'm just being influenced by people on the internet. I hate that they believe that J. K. Okay now, NBC Found startin to bug me. Before I take my hiatus, Imma gone head and get this out after last night’s episode.

One: This coulda been one of the best dark romance couples I’ve seen on tv in a hot minute if they had just aged Gabby up and made Sir’s motives more clear. Like, obviously ya can’t do romance now cause it would be hella weird, but like……he DOES wanna be her partner in EVERY WAY: a parent, a teacher, a…….lover, but…..we’ve already established that can’t be….like, why did we write it this way??

Two: Gabby, girl ain’t you tired of threatening Sir every promo?? Like, find another way to tease the next episode…..(also, actors can only do so much with cringe writing; at some point the acting is gonna get a lil……questionable if the writing is). And, OF COURSE HE BROKE THE CHAIN; we’ve already established he WANTS to be there, but if you gone act reckless, so is he

Three: and perhaps my biggest issue is that…maybe this show shouldn’t be a procedural…..We get too much of those plots (and yet, also not enough, cause it seem like they always solve the cases too quick or that it’s rushed) and not enough of Sir/Gabby…in the present. I appreciate the flashbacks, but I also feel like we need an equal amount of flashbacks (sometimes)/present Sir/Gabby, AND cases and I don’t think we’re getting that. Just a lot of case plot (which, I feel, is why they solve them so quick) and 2-6 minutes of Sir/Gabby working on the case or her dealing with her feelings towards their situation. Separate that time out as equally as ya can to well round the overall story as well as the case of the week.

Of course, just my feelings, but I definitely will be sat for that season finale and already eagerly awaiting 2 lol 😅
