synopsis — in which you become acquainted with your boyfriend’s new haircut.

genre — nonidol!au, fem!reader, established relationship, and fluff

content — reader is a bit bratty, pet names (baby, pretty), and a man having the audacity to cut his hair instead of growing it out :((

author’s note — wrote this as a love letter to the legendary jullet (jeno mullet) BUT also an appreciation of his short cut because i think he’s rocking it right now. though nothing, and i mean not one thing, can touch the hot sauce jullet (r.i.p bby)

Trust, Jeno knew the weight of this situation. Your attachment to his hair was no secret between the two of you. You loved it. Threading your fingers in the hairs around the nape of his neck, continuously running your hands through his raven locks, attentively fixing the lengthy strands that fell into place in front of his sight. Sure, in your lonesome together, your hands were always on Jeno but your number one comfort place was having a hand constantly glued to his hair.

“___, baby, please open the door,” Jeno pleaded, gently laughing against the wood of your bedroom door. Of course there was a way he could finesse the knob himself but he found your unnecessary, yet completely anticipated temper tantrum— cute.

“No!”

“Baby,” Jeno bit back laughter, pressing his freshly exposed forehead to the door.

“How could you do this to me?!” Though muffled, he heard your dramatic query. His shielded laughter pushed its way past his lips, leaving you to hear his harmonious snickering as you stood on the opposite side of the threshold.

“What was that, pretty?” Jeno’s smile stretched, expecting his question would pressure you to let him in. The stretch of his lips could only double when he heard the lock click— stepping a few paces back for your reappearance just before your exasperated face was peeking through the minor crack you purposefully left in the door.

“I said,” you began. “How could you do this to me?” You whined, the sight of your boyfriend promptly making you upset all over again.

Jeno chuckled at your state, taking you the least bit seriously. “You’re being dramatic,” he countered.

Before you could hide from him again, Jeno wedged his hand between the door and the sill. Obviously, you were no match against his strength so you gave up control over the door without a fight.

“Thank you, finally.” Jeno smiled triumphantly, his tone dripping in sarcasm as he stepped into your shared bedroom where you had been hiding yourself for the past half hour upon witnessing his new haircut.

You presented yourself as less than ecstatic to see him, to say the least. By the time Jeno had entered, you were already shrouding yourself with your comforter to avoid him once more.

A sigh left Jeno while he wondered to himself how long you two were going to play this game. “Pretty, you can’t still be upset…” slowly, Jeno crept over to the edge of the bed to sit next to your hidden form.

He heard you huff from underneath the blankets before you quickly flipped it off your head. “Well I am.” And your head was covered again.

“You don’t like it?” Jeno probed you, of course he knew what your answer was but playing with you was just so much fun.

Like a game of catch-a-mole, your head peaked from beneath the covers like before to deliver him a quick qip but this time your boyfriend was time enough, catching the comforter with his hand to keep your pouty face in view.

“Jeno,” you cried.

“___,” Jeno mocked your whiny tone, maneuvering up the bed to hover over you. Though you feigned discontent with your boyfriend, you’d be stupid to ignore the kiss he pressed to your lips. You allowed your lips to mesh, it was swift, but effective in turning your once rigid form into something like jelly.

He pulled back, his handsome face still peering down over your own.

“Jeno,” you parroted yourself, this time your voice was softer as you reached a hand up to gently brush against his newly chopped fringe.

“Yes, pretty?”

You sighed at the usage of your nickname, it was twisted that he knew exactly how to use it to his advantage. Wordlessly, your opposite hand came to grip at the front of Jeno’s shirt, effectively pulling him down on top of you. He followed through, giggling as he situated his weight comfortably overtop of you.

This new position allowed you to adjust yourself along the crook of Jeno’s neck. “I don’t hate it,” you reluctantly whispered into his skin.

Shocked, Jeno changed the angle to where your faces were nearly touching. “No?” He whisper-shouted.

“No.” You giggled at the sight of his wide, stunned eyes, your hand still roaming the expanse of his cut.

Jeno smiled at this, bringing his lips back to your own and inevitably closing the gap between you. This time you gave more of yourself to him, arching your front into his. Sighing when you felt his hand place itself along your side.

He cut the kiss short once again, your faces still close as ever.

“I happen to like it. It suits you,” you admitted shamefully, it was disappointing to yourself that you had caused all this uproar to finalize that the change, though drastic and sudden, wasn’t all that bad.

It framed his face and highlighted his sculpted features. Lord knows he was still as handsome as ever, and this new cut gave you more opportunity to marvel at him. Though your fingers had less to work with, you were still able to play in it nonetheless.

“Thank you, baby.” Freshly flustered with your change in tune, Jeno pressed a peck to your nose, garnering a giggle from you.

“No problem.”

With your situation finally reaching a resolution, Jeno situated himself to lay on his side, holding onto you while his head was placed on your chest. Giving you the perfect opportunity to let your fingers linger in his hair like you’ve become accustomed to.

“More than my mullet?” Jeno mused.

“Don’t push it.”

Very spooky request. Witch reader with the whole kingdom cast after her.

The Kingdom wants them due to their skill. At least that's what they say to the other court nobles. Totally not because they're such a nice charming bby that always is so kind to them. Theanna totally didn't fall in love with them when she was still seeking ways to take the throne. Their smile and laugh a stark contrast to the whining and complaining of her courtiers. And Abigail and Ainsly totally didn't get enamored when they showed their skills and abilities defeating raging beasts and protecting some children who ran just a bit too far into the forest when playing. Elisha is also adamant that she only goes to the witch for their help in healing her wounds. Totally not because when she looks into their eyes she sees the finest jewels she's ever seen. That evil dragon is the only one that seeks out the witch. The court says it's to hinder the kingdom's prosperity, but in actuality it's because whenever Veronia and reader run into each other they give her some bangin biscuits and pastries. Also she sometimes stays the night and cuddles with Veronia :3c.

(Okay I love how this sort of feels like reader literally only really likes Veronia. Had to change it a bit with Theanna since she already had a mage. She recruited Ainsley at the age of 12 cause she was girlbossing. I was a bit goofier with this request, it was a bit less dark than other things. Ainsley is excluded because if everyone else were pining for her darling like this, they'd be dead, she has no loyalty even though she's in Theanna's squad.)

♡ Theanna always feared those with magic when she was younger, before she knew better. At the time of your meeting there was always the fear that should she come into contact with someone who had magic, they'd be able to see the copious amounts of spells that she had on her, and possibly dispel them, though that way highly unlikely as Ainsley always reassured her. Thus upon your first meeting she was hesitant to get close to you, despite you being known as extremely friendly and loveable to all the villagers. ♡

♡ When she first approached you it was with ulterior motives, having the witch who was beloved by her citizens on her side would only be one more reason for her to be made successor. She liked you enough but that was the extent of it. She really didn't think much more about your interactions until she really took the throne and realized she would need a wife. A kind wife, and she realized you'd been the only one to truly be kind to her before she became heir to the throne. ♡

♡ That totally was all there was to it. She needed a wife and you were perfect for the role. Yeah, she's kind of stupid and doesn't realize if that's all there was to it then she wouldn't have forced you to move your house to the capital and she wouldn't have assigned her best knight to watch over you secretly(R.I.P. to Abigail, she'll never get a break) ♡

♡ She was kind of upset when you became common knowledge to the people. You had been the first person she had truly gotten close to when she arrived in the world, seeing as you always treated all of her wounds. She liked having you be her safe haven in the forest so hearing you had moved to the capital was extremely frustrating because now you would be treating other people's wounds. ♡

♡ She had tried her best for years to convince you to join her on her travels as a healer, totally only as a healer, and yet you had chosen to move to the capital just because the crown princess asked you to? Needless to say the adventurer is now on bad terms with the rest of the kingdom. ♡

♡ At a certain point they have to weigh their options, they can either have the lovable witch, or the dragon slayer. They chose you, lol. Elisha really needs to hatch a plan to take you to another kingdom but with your rizz, they'd probably also try to take you. You'll never be Elisha's secret again. ♡

♡ Abigail is fine with being your knight, honestly she would have tried to guard you when you moved to the capital anyways. She knew being a witch would make adjusting to capital life difficult and you were almost a minor celebrity so you needed security. That's all there was to it. ♡

♡ She's oblivious to how she feels, simply believing her feelings towards you are just wanting to protect the future queen, one of the most skilled warriors she's ever met and she would never ever take the queen away from her closest friend, right? ♡

♡ Be still heart, she can't allow herself to love, she'll have to settle for being your admirer and guard. Maybe, hopefully Theanna dies before you so in your later years as a widow, you can move into her estate and she can have you close to you. ♡

♡ The kingdom has committed an act of war by having you move to the capital. She can't have her mate be so far away. It was bad enough when you lived in the forest and had people visit you at random. She was allowing that to happen though because you always returned to her at the end of the day. You were happy to see her right? So why then did you move to the capital?! ♡

♡ It's alright cause you still visit her with your cookies every week, and she knows that the people keeping you in the capital will be oulived by you so you will one day return to the forest with her and she'll hold you there forever. ♡

♡ All she must do is have patience. ♡

Watching Jurassic Park Dominion and man, whenever Owen, Claire and Maisie are on screen or it's their plot I just... do not care. The "love story" is boring, they try to make catchy phrases like the original when Claire says "Run" in that croaky ass rasp or do that stupid fucking raptor stance with the arm outstretched I just cringe. Surprised they didn't have Claire in heels for this movie.

But as soon and Ian, Ellie and Alan came on screen the chemistry was just there. Every time they interact I'm kicking my legs and screaming, they're all so fucking hot, they fall into their roles effortlessly, they're funny, they're compelling. I need more.

I like Ramsay though, and Dodgson coming back as evil dude of evilcorp and getting killed by the same beasties as last time amazing.

Season 3 wasn’t so bad actually.

I mean, I don’t like that Tim died, but it wasn’t a surprise. Daisy was certainly interesting, so it’s sad to see her go too.

bUT THEY KILLED MICHAEL! AND GERRY! TWICE EACH!!! and the other Michael. And ALMOST Jon, but he’s thankfully not dead.

I’m really glad we got a full grasp of what entities there are, and why, that just makes me happy lol. The more I listen to this the more convinced I am that I wouldn’t mind this job TOO too much. I probably wouldn’t, y’know, SURVIVE, but I think I’d be good at the rest of it. I also really liked getting to see all the different characters, like Trevor, Julia, Gerard Keay (r.i.p. v_v), and Helen once she became the Distortion. I can’t believe she literally asked Jon for help and he was just like “gEt OuT”, like SIR. STOP PICKING FIGHTS WITH ENTITIES THAT DON’T WANT TO KILL YOU!

I gained some healthy respect and admiration for Elias this season but while I appreciate how absolutely killer the man is, hE MADE MELANIE AND MARTIN ***CRY*** AND THAT IS **NOT** OKAY WITH ME!!! I loathe that he was like “well, if I had more time I’d tell you about how your crush despises you and break your heart THAT way, buuuuuuut since I’m a very busy man I’ll just go with shattering your entire sense of self-worth instead. :)”Watching Martin snap at people is probably one of my favourite things though because yes bby, stand up for yourself! Stop taking shit from people! You have a right to be angry and optimism is not a bad thing!

Oh my gosh though, when Jon was in Georgie’s house and all the lights went out and Nikola came in and talked to him I almost died. My sister had showed me TikToks and YouTube Shorts that she liked, usually cosplayers, using the audio of “You don’t sound Russian??” “How can I sound ANYTHING, silly? I’m Plastic! :D I don’t even have a vOiCe BoX, I had to bOrrOw this one!” And she’d literally shown me one like, THE DAY BEFORE, and I have no idea how I didn’t pick up on Jon’s voice, but once the scene was playing on the episode and then hit that part I was like OH MY GODS NO WAY ITS FROM MAGNUS ARCHIVES NO HEKKING WAY!! I played it for her and she got the exact same look on her face, though since I started the scene earlier than most audios do (for context) she already had the look because she recognized the voice lol.

But yeah, pretty good season overall. Listening to Basira and Melanie go “oh my god nobody has ever had a bigger crush than Martin has on Jon” was absolutely brilliant, I couldn’t stop grinning for a solid minute. Then Elias made her CRY but that’s not the point here. I also love that they invited Martin out for drinks, and that Jon is a Cat Person(tm).

I’m excited to see what season 4 does with Jon’s essentially-a-coma-but-he-has-no-actual-vitals and dreams, and whatever the ritual for the eye is, since that was supposed to come after the Unknowing. I can’t remember what Gertrude called it, but I know it had to do with crowns.

AHHHHHH season 3 my beloved. Also you may judge me but one of my favourite scenes is Elias making Martin cry because the two things I love in this world are Elias Bouchard and angst. Season 3 is so much fun bc u get to meet so many cool people. I love Daisy sm, she’s such a cool character. I’m very excited I think you’ll love season 4.
