Another Friday means a new set of Curious Collectibles tables have arrived!
If you like these and want even more options each week, consider joining me on Patreon! Patrons get access to more options, with new tables released every Friday! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Some additional inspirational prompts for the above treasure items:
What sort of magic does this want contain? ... Or perhaps it was meant to be a food source?
Who commissioned such a gaudy helm? Or perhaps those gems each contain a special power? Or dare it... a soul?
Who commissioned such a piece and where would this sort of beast even be found in?
What could this item be used for? Perhaps it is attuned to the plane itself?
And most importantly, what option would you choose? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As always, this table is available and free for you to use in your home DnD / Pathfinder / Tales of the Valiant / Shadowdark / TTRPG games, to help generate some more descriptive loot. These treasure options are perfect for a new quest-hook or a truly epic / one of a kind reward to feed your players (ever growing) loot goblinoid hunger.
If you love ttrpg stuff like this and are looking for more loot options, as well as a hoard of printable paper minis, terrain and monsters to help fill your table, check out my Patreon page! I create affordable paper minis, VTT Tokens and more, with a release every week! d20 Phobias
For character creation, but also super useful for dungeon theming.
Barking, biting teeth.
Choking, gas.
Corpses, decay.
Darkness, stealthy foes.
Dirt, germs.
Drowning, water.
Fire, being burned.
Heights, self-control.
Holes, wounds.
Open spaces, infinity.
Rats, skittering.
Sharp needles and spikes.
Slime, amphibians.
Snakes, reptiles.
Spiders, insects.
Staring eyes, paranoia.
Thunder, loud rumbling.
Tight spaces, being crushed.
Uncanny human-like figures.
Unexplained phenomena

Made a very quick D&D NPC generator for when you need to find a quick answer to "so who's this merchant/librarian/blacksmith/tavernkeep".
The fantasy races in the list and the stats there are based on 5th edition D&D, but since this is just for inspiration, just replace with something analogous to your setting or ignore entirely. Ta-dah!
Check it out here

Azalin Reviews: Darklord Vladeska Drakov
Tumblr media
Domain: Falkovnia Domain Formation:  Unspecified (former version 690 BC) Power Level: 💀💀💀⚫⚫ (3/5 Skulls) Sources: Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft (5e)
Without a Core containing neighboring Domains in 5e Ravenloft lore, the concept of an ever-failing would-be conqueror becomes as pointless as Vlad's efforts to overthrow Darkon. The new version of Falkovnia is a Domain overrun by zombie hordes as the people and their commander, Vladeska Drakov, fight a never ending battle against the hordes of undead.
All of Falkovnia’s villages have been abandoned as the remaining populace rally behind the walled city of Lekar. Their resources are running thinner each day and on the week of the new moon countless zombies shamble out of the Mists and lay siege upon what’s left of Falkovnia.
Vladeska shares Vlad’s love of punishment through impalement and his history as a mercenary. She was known as the Crimson Falcon and led an army of mercenaries that called themselves the Falcon’s Talons. So, similar, but different with falcons replacing hawks, though unlike Vlad, Vladeska was very much respected by her peers and the lords she worked for.
Eventually, Vladeska and her people killed the wrong person. Who this person was has been obscured by the Mists, but they were important enough to turn those Vladeska worked for against the mercenaries. Vladeska is said to be a tactical genius and instead of being cowed, she turned against those that pursued her. She was ruthless, forced people into her service and impaled anyone who attempted to stop her. The Mists came for her and her Talons after they had defeated Vladeska’s last foes. Our Tormentors always know when to time things to snatch away that bit of hope we all hold onto at the last possible moment.
Vladeska found herself in Falkovnia, which she conquered almost too easily, likely by our tormentor’s design. She was unable to enjoy her victory as days later hordes of undead laid siege against her. Falkovnia is locked in a never ending loop of preparing for war, then fighting it. Every citizen is forced to serve and fight against the zombie invasion. Vladeska does not have the power to control the borders of her Domain and they remain closed except for a brief period of time after the hordes of undead have been driven back once again. This would be the best time for all the citizens she forces into military service to flee, but her always loyal Talons patrol the borders at this time and any deserters are impaled. So most stay because they fear Vladeska more than they fear the undead.
Vladeska is unable to admit defeat, though fleeing would likely save countless souls. She is plagued by recognizing every face worn by the undead horde and she knows, somehow, they are coming for her in particular. Vladeska’s strength comes from her people’s loyalty and fear of her punishments. Without her people, she is easily dealt with, but one should not make the mistake of underestimating her. I will grant her 3 skulls for keeping her people loyal despite the never ending odds stacked up against her.

So DND is going great (I traded warlock patrons, became a foiled dragonborn in the process and in a separate incident now accidentally trapped myself in the astral plane for decades just to try and make a dwarf laugh)

Why cant I find any perfumes that actually smell like roses (or really any other flower) other than Bulgarian rose perfume?
Like roses have a distinct softly sweet flower smell that is light, airy and even abit earthy but every "rose" or "flower" scented perfume I find just smells like sickly sweet candy 😭

I think any modern au meng yao would really benefit from being a dungeon master. Elaborate plans and setups for encounters to pour over to give his high-speed brain something fun to do for once, he can use his acting skills on truly immaculate roleplay, and as a bonus he gets to kill everyone in his social circle except he doesn't actually do anything wrong and they can't get mad at him for it. It's not his fault you didn't roll better, da-ge.
For all that he speaks very well Jin guangyao is never a monologuing/grand speech villain. He is just so dependent on everyone else's opinion of him he never truly gets to let go, but I think he deserves to monologue over a dead body, actually. And ttrpgs are the perfect place to do it with zero consequences.

we have a big spreadsheet for all of our ttrpg campaigns so that everyone has easy access to a bunch of info on the game (highly recommend if you have folks who can't/don't take notes) and it makes me laugh every time to see the "problems" tab

Who made this mechanical marvel? What sort of origin do the clockwork gears have? Could it contain a mystical magic linked to the mechanical plane of order?
What sort of spells could this cuff already hold? What were they intended to be used for? Could someone without magical ability use them as their own?
Are we sure the deep red stains are from the wine? Or could they be from something... else...
Who would keep such a thing?! Can they?!... petrify... each other?!
And most importantly, what option would you choose? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As always, this table is available and free for you to use in your home DnD / Pathfinder / Tales of the Valiant / Shadowdark / TTRPG games, to help generate some more descriptive loot. d8 Dispositions × d6 Reactions
goblinpunch made this great blogpost that featured in Knock! #4. I redesigned it for a d6 and rewrote them each to have 4 outcomes. I have this on the inside of my GM screen when running Knave to replace the standard d12 reaction table. I've not yet rolled a d8 to determine disposition, I choose whatever makes sense for the character. But maybe you will!
1. Benevolent
1      Shun.  If you don’t leave, they’ll leave.  Reason: disgust / fear / dislike / you are bad.
2-3  Curious but guarded. Riddle talk / trades information.
4-5  Small assistance.  Limited in duration and degree. Shares information.  Asks questions.
6      Large assistance. Trusting, conversational. May ask to join the party.
2. Neutral
1      Attack.  Reason: protecting something / desperation / honor / mistaken identity.
2-3  Try to avoid or ignore you. Reason: busy / scared / suspicious / annoyed.
4-5  Parley. They want: information / assistance / supplies / employment.
6      Small assistance. Limited in duration and degree. Shares information.  Asks questions.
3. Hostile
1      Attack, with strong motivation to kill. Reason: commanded / hates you / desperate / no witnesses.
2-3  Attack, aiming to kill / capture. If you seem far too strong: Flee and regroup / reinforce.
4-5   Attack, aiming to rob / drive off. If you seem far too strong: flee.
6      Guarded parley: insult / threaten / command / deceive. Reasons: tired / scared / disgruntled / wounded.
4. Merchant
1      Will try to cheat you.
2-3  Will only try to cheat you a little.
4-5  Unmotivated. Standard prices.
6      Discounts!  Limited time only.  Reason: desperate / they like you / common enemy.
5. Guardian
1      Attack, pursue further than normal.
2-3  Attempt to drive you off, attacking if you don't.
4-5  Attempt to drive you off, but won’t attack if you don't intrude further.
6      Warn off then observe calmly. Will fight to defend what it’s guarding.
6. Hungry
1      Attack. Ravenous, near starving.
2-3  Attack if party seems weak or hostile.  Possible chance for retreat.
4-5  Targets foodstuff near party or in their bags, avoids combat.
6      Not hungry right now–but will be soon.  If approached: may flee or attack.
7. Greedy
1      Attack if you seem weak, steal if you seem dumb, beg otherwise.
2-3  Steal if you seem dumb, or else beg.
4-5  Focuses on hiding / protecting its own treasure from the party.
6      Tries to strike up a fair bargain.
8. Militant
1      Attack.  Reason: protecting something / desperation / honor / mistaken identity. 2-3  Hostile parley.  Will attack unless you: leave immediately / surrender money / surrender. 4-5  Parley. They want: information / assistance / supplies / employment. 6          Offer protection, try to recruit party into mission / gang / society / army.

Hey to be totally honest I tried the whole RP w ai thing, and it's not. Good. Like even with the "good" bots that have been fine tuned by people to be a specific character or whatever it's just. Not great. Like I promise you 100% you can At Least write something that fills in your fantasy w your OC by yourself, if not probably write something Better than the ai. And on top of that. If you wanna rp, seek out rp buddies. It's not easy but rping w a human is so much better, y'all.
