o ya, may i ask about Dora?
Canon Dora is underrated. I love her.
Dedicated and loyal, skilled, sentimental, and collected.
Dora cares immensely about positive relationships. It breaks her heart when she loses them.
Receptively bilingual. She speaks her home country's language(Insulăvoric) and understands English while her cousin speaks both languages.
Dora has pica and has been managing it since she was a child. She had medication and therapy to help her handle it when she was young and continued medication into adulthood but was forced to stop when she entered the EXIT.
Who's her cousin? David. It's David.
David and Dora come from the redux's equivalent of Davidland. Currently calling it Clayland, this may change. Just know that everyone there is made of clay.
One thing you'll see with Claylanders is that they are a closed off community. They don't take well to change or new faces and expect you to stay where you grew up. However, there are some ambitious individuals who don't want that and they're treated poorly.
This is the case with Dora and David. David was willing to conform but Dora wasn't. She wanted to see the world outside of her hometown and got David involved.
Sharing this news got them scorn and scolding. It also lead to them being outcasted after David came home from BFDI. Dora said fuck it and they both left for BFDIA, with only Dora getting in and David growing bitter.
Dora wishes David didn't blame her for the way they were treated. Their close bond was broken. They go on low contact with conversations being uncomfortable at the least.
Dora REFUSES to go back to Clayland. She leaves BFDIA after her elimination and takes a job elsewhere in Goiky. Dora doesn't come back until she's invited to co-host an episode.
Dora may have part of an early episode dedicated to her in IDFB.. I think she'd be one of the characters who leaves after BFDIA.
When she's invited back for BFB, Dora doesn't turn the offer down or ignore it!!
Dora helps a lot during challenges while she's on Bleh. They're a mess in early BFB.
Dora is shocked when she's eliminated. She helped with so many challenges for her team while they were focused on bickering and mending and even flirting. She sat there through it all, a listener with Teardrop, a good competitor, and the one time they lose, she's the one out.
It's not fair.
But Dora can't bring herself to be angry.
Disappointed, sure.
But angry? No. At the end of the day, BFB is a competition show-- this is just the way things are.
When Four casts her to his domain, she expects to be out eventually. It.. may be a minute because there's so many contestants-- and a rejoin may happen. It happened with Leafy.
So Dora waits. And waits. And waits.
A month, maybe two passes. In that time the EXIT fills, Loser and Spongy escape after the whole group tries to, BFB splits, and then nobody ever comes back.
Four years of this.
In this time, Dora grows close to 8-Ball and Firey Jr.
Firey Jr is a kid. A teenage boy. Dora knows he went through something before joining BFB but he never opens up about what. And Dora doesn't ask.
She's just there. By his side. Trying her best to keep Four away from him. 8-Ball helps with this too. They aren't perfect.
Dora and 8-Ball pretty much act as Firey Jr's guardians.
She has to stay strong.
Especially with the group growing braver, leaving the classroom when Four isn't there to check on them. Stress is high during these periods and Dora won't let it control her. She can't get distracted.
The one time she did, Firey Jr and 8-Ball nearly got caught and died.
Never again.
David is also at the EXIT. He and Dora are forced to work together sometimes and it. May become an argument in Insulăvoric. They eventually get along well again.
The EXITors are all kind of? Tense? For the most part. They're all one another have but they don't. All quite get along outside of the classroom. But they all care for one another.
Escaping the EXIT is terrifying and relieving.
What's not okay is Two taking all of the EXITors and putting them to work at the hotel. Without their agreement.
The door out. Is locked! That's. WOW!!!
Dora breaks a window to escape. Two comes over to check out the damage as some EXITors ask to join the game. Dora thought about it and eventually decided that yeah. Sure, why not? What would happen if they weren't let in anyways?
The votes are cast and revealed during a storm. Two lets Four host the cake and stake and decides that the winning prize is staying at the hotel.
8-Ball and David are sent into orbit. Dora is. Actually horrified. They could both be dead or injured or lost and she can't know.
The same thing happens to Firey Jr.
Dora lost everything again. Just like that.
She's sent into the storm too, pulled by powerful wind. Where she ends up? I want to know what TPOT does with her first.
I do know I want her to be dedicating her time to finding her lost friends and family.

Goswin intro...redux!!!!
Once upon a time Chel made a one-off lad for a fic. He was supposed to be a joke, a butt monkey. Something went wrong; I’d like to say it was dnd but tbh I liked him before that. Now he’s here. Get ready for a doozy; he’s arguably MOST in need of a redo and also he gets an extra section because I have lost control of my life.
DQXI Spoilers abound, baby!
PROLOGUE
Cities rarely fall with all of their citizens still within their walls, and this rings true for Zwaardsrust as well. The king fell, because monsters with a leader often beeline for whoever’s in charge, and the knights fell, laying down their lives to protect His Majesty and whatever civilians they could, but a number of nobles and commonfolk alike escaped the crumbling walls into the vast unknown.
Goswin knows nothing of this, because Goswin was not yet born when Zwaardsrust fell, but it haunts his parents, haunts his older sister, and somehow still haunts him and his younger sistes, as so many tragedies haunt those left behind.
Goswin was raised within the walls of Sniflheim, studying in the academies that dot the city, aiming for the kingdom’s greatest university. With a keen eye for learning and a deep-rooted love for the many mysteries surrounding Erdrea, he was considered a shoe-in for any academic program he had his eyes set on, even if his nervous, quiet demeanor made him a target for the crueler children.
And then, one fateful day not long after his fourteenth birthday, one of the aforementioned crueler children picks the wrong moment to mess with him, and suddenly Goswin’s mind is clouded with an unfamiliar, genuinely-terrifying rage. And while the bully is quickly scared off by Goswin’s sheer anger—not to mention the swirls of strange red energy creeping up his arms—it leaves the little researcher boy himself more than a little afraid.
No amount of research turns up anything to explain whatever that rage was, and as time passes it only grows stronger and stronger. He enrolls in university at age eighteen, makes it to one class—and is suddenly overcome with a rage so strong he drops out entirely, setting out on the road to ensure he can’t hurt anyone else, especially those he cares about. Perhaps the world outside of Sniflheim will provide him the knowledge he seeks…or, at the very least, something interesting to research.
And so, after a year or two on the road, he finds himself in the tourist town of Phnom Nonh with nothing but an axe (for protection!), his many notebooks, and the clothes on his back, seeking out the source of their prized mural’s power. And when a certain little girl approaches him, claiming that she too dealt with rages like his only to be cured by the mural’s power, well, perhaps that’s the solution he was looking for!
WITHIN THE PARTY
As luck would so have it, his visit to Phnom Nonh coincides almost perfectly with the arrival of a certain Luminary in the town, looking for any sort of lead in their orb search. Not long after his run-in with Dora, he runs into Eleven and company, who lost track of her while looking for her parents. As anxious as he is about dealing with people, especially with his…condition…he agrees to team up with them to search, leading them into the mural’s chambers and, inevitably, transporting them into the Other Side.
Perhaps because of the party’s presence, or because he’s not an idiot, Goswin resists whatever weird compulsory-worship nonsense Dora-in-Grey exudes and proves himself to be a worthy ally in combat, even if he is a bit…overzealous at times. With Dora dispatched and the discovery that Goswin’s last hope—er, research has been destroyed, he decides to come along for the ride for three reasons: one, that whatever turned Veronica into a child is certainly a valuable substitute; two, because Eleven’s Luminary powers definitely qualify as Cool Research Material, and three, because Eleven is nice and Erik is pretty and Goswin is a gay disaster.
(And four, because they’re strong enough to take him out, should his mystical rage overtake him. But he won’t say that. And besides, his rage seems to be sated by monster battles, so he’ll likely be fine.)
Most of their journey is relatively peaceful (well, comparatively so, anyway), before they enter the First Forest and his rage fails to calm after a fight, leading to him turning on his party members. When confronted, he tells the party of his particular problem, and they promise to help him find the solution as soon as the Lord of Shadows is taken care of.
Guess how THAT goes.
Goswin finds himself in Gondolia, helping to solve their fish issues (fish-ssues?) in the wake of Alizarin’s sea tyranny and attempting to subdue his rage before he hurts more people. The party (read as: Eleven, Hendrik, Rab, Sylv and I guess Terra) winds up picking him up before heading to Zwaardsrust, where the rage becomes stronger and stronger…
Searching the ruins, since this is where his family lived and perhaps they could trace the source to that, they discover a mural (of course) detailing a long-passed encounter with a particularly powerful monster that, with its dying breath, cursed the bloodline of the knight who defeated it. Their lead acquired, they find the lingering spirit the monster left behind, slaying it for good and…not freeing Goswin from the rage so much as allowing him to control it, not unlike Jade’s Revamp ability.
Honestly, the jump back in time doesn’t affect his story too much; sure, the party is far less surprised at his inability to calm after that fight in the First Forest, and they have an inkling on where to go, but much like the Gloomnivore fight, it’s kinda…the same, if a bit Nastier on the monster’s end.
As an aside: if this were Definitive Edition and you chose to shack up with Goswin, his Tor cutscene would be very explicitly romantic, because Goswin is a gay disaster and if you chose to live with him you are both aware and on board with it.
MONSTER SQUAD:
In a different world, Goswin got there a bit too early, swept up into Dora’s mural and inevitably rescued by Team Luminary. Who get promptly scared off by Doroterra, thus ruining his chances of More Sweet Research. Despite his frustration, and his immediate fright at her hands, he ends up traveling alongside her (and the teacher who insists on babysitting them).
The specifics of his particular story, honestly, play out largely the same, just without being there when Yggdrasil dies. It’s about the found family and the interpersonal relationships. Besides, that’s probably not what you came to this for, given that a) it’s mostly detailed in Terra’s anyway and b) the next section exists.
GOSWINARY:
Perhaps, in a different life, the Luminary was born in Zwaardsrust, and perhaps that Luminary survived and was found in Cobblestone. Perhaps, in that universe, Dundrasil survived, with its crown prince thriving in the palace, visited at least once a month by his older-sister-in-spirit, the Princess of Heliodor.
A princess who is slowly becoming very suspicious of her father, just in time for said Luminary to arrive to present himself to the king.
She recruits Dundrasil’s Prince Eleven, as well as a thief named Erik with a supposed destiny to find and help the Luminary, to help her find the poor boy before he gets himself thrown into the dungeons. And thus, country boy Goswin gets thrown into the wildest ride of his life.
They were told there’d be a lot more lightning, but all he get really do is go into some sort of magically-charged rage state, and even that isn’t really controllable. There are more than a few mysteries to this particular Luminary…unfortunately, you have to wait until I actually make it to Goswinary. My apologies. If it helps…non-sexyfied Jade, not-villain Jasper and yes-villain female OC?
COMBAT:
Goswin would really rather not fight unless he has to—at first, anyway—but he does have weapons to use: axes (finally, another axe-wielder) as well as his notebooks. (This game doesn’t have enough joke weapons.) Erik also teaches him boomerangs!
As far as magic goes, Goswin has none; whatever magic he would have is fueling the rage thing, augmenting his natural strength at the cost of rational thought. He can do cool things with it, that’s for sure, but most of that comes after his arc is finished.
#chel's monster squad#goswinary...#you can tell the moment i mentally checked out lmao#tomorrow...nettie! in half an hour...hyrule warrior#gay baby goswin coming soon to an ao3 near you

2019 WRITING MEME
i only finished three of the specific things i mentioned a year ago so evidently these lists aren’t the most accurate BUT i’m doing this again now just for kicks (@ 2020 me: have you gotten your shit together yet??)
THINGS I AM DEFINITELY MOST LIKELY GOING TO WRITE
a reimagined version of you can’t miss it they said // the soulmate au redux i posted about before, in which jake and amy find out from the get go that they’re both soulmate-less and form a “you and me against the world; you’re the only one who understands me”-type camaraderie (feat. slow burn pining ofc)
the ~five remaining chapters of so close to reaching that famous happy end // the time travel au – first up: another max-centric interlude, in which the little guy wakes up ahead of his parents and decides to take it upon himself to make all of them breakfast
a canon-divergent ficlet wherein tedford rears his chaotic head and fully proposes to amy some time in early S2, forcing her to admit (to herself and teddy and everyone) that she most definitely doesn’t want a future with him
not a fic, but I’m 75% done with a new photomanip set for the royalty au and really want to get that up soon
THINGS I’D LIKE TO WRITE, TIME (AND CREATIVITY) PERMITTING
if i ever figure out how to write a proper action scene // at @proofthatihaveaheart’s request: another oneshot set in my atla au, focused on amy bloodbending for the first time to save jake’s life
if i ever decide to go horny on main: a soulmate au in which jake and amy unknowingly share dreams every now and then (feat. smut bc while i’m a hoe for any old soulmate au i think the extra layer would rly help spice up a super predictable trope lol)
a full fic for the beat cop au i posted about before
maybe my version of a hogwarts au just bc i already have a bunch of headcanons and think about it once every 15 hours
Tagging: @santiagoswagger @three-drink-amy @elsaclack @johnny-and-dora @arnie-santiago @fourdrinkamy @amyscascadingtabs @sergeant-santiago @proofthatihaveaheart @the-pontiac-bandit @nerd-husbands @disruptedvice @peraltasames @nolookfive @wishfulwannabe @do-me-decimalsystem @b99peraltiago @alys07 @dmigod @chaosssy

Coming Attractions August 2019

As usual, we present monthly previews of new movies being released. These are the movies what will be hitting your local cinemas this month:
August 2nd
Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw - After eight feature films and a worldwide box office of over $5 billion (including one of the ten highest-grossing films of all-time), the Fast and Furious is getting its first spin-off with Hobbs & Shaw. The introduction of Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs was one of the best parts of Fast Five, the film that acted as a resurgence for a fledgling franchise, so it is nice to see the character (alongside Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw), get an opportunity to headline a new franchise. Shaw’s turn from villain to hero has been a bit clunky, especially since HE KILLED HAN AND EVERYONE ACTS LIKE THAT’S OKAY WHEN IT ISN’T!!! Sorry about that, involuntary reaction. Go see Hobbs & Shaw.
August 9th
Dora and the Lost City of Gold - The cartoon Dora the Explorer premiered on Nickelodeon back in 2000 and is now set for a live-action feature film. If I was twenty-plus years younger, I am sure I would be super excited to see Dora and the Lost City of Gold, since at that age I was a fan of archaeology and would be begging my older brothers to take me. At this age, however, my interest is non-existent. I am sure my nephew wants to see it.
The Kitchen - Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss team up in this crime film based on a Vertigo comic book of the same name. In The Kitchen, the three women play the wives of mobsters who take over the organization in 1970s Hell’s Kitchen. The trailer for the film is definitely worth a watch.
The Art of Racing in the Rain - Kevin Costner voices the dog. Do I need to say more?
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark - Guillermo del Toro produces this upcoming horror film based on a series of children’s books. Honestly, I don’t know much about it because the TV spots are super creepy and worth fast-forwarding through.
August 16th
The Angry Birds Movie 2 (August 14th) - Did you love the first The Angry Birds Movie and have been patiently waiting three years for a sequel? Well, here it is!
Blinded by the Light (August 14th) - This musical comedy/drama inspired by the works of Bruce Springsteen is based a memoir entitled Greetings from Bury Park. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year to near critical acclaim. So if you are a fan of The Boss, there is a movie coming for you.
Good Boys - In the spirit of Role Models and Bad Words, here comes another hard-R film starring kids, in which, the leader of this group of Good Boys is played by Jacob Tremblay of Room and Predators. On the search for a lost drone, these kids find their way into all sorts of trouble and, of course, hijinks ensue.
Where’d You Go, Bernadette - Richard Linklater directs Cate Blanchett in this mystery based on a novel of the same name. When the titular Bernadette (Blancett), her daughter and family set off to find her. This film has had a myriad of a release dates, originally set to come out in March 2018, then pushed to October 2018, again pushed to March 2019. Then it settled on August 9th of this year, before being bumped again to August 16th - the date is now being released. Probably. Unless they move it again...
47 Meters Down: Uncaged - After 47 Meters Down starring Mandy Moore grossed over $60 million worldwide on a $5.5 million budget, the formerly planned to be a direct-to-video feature was destined for a sequel.
August 23rd
Ready or Not (August 21st) - In this horror thriller, a newly-wedded bride is thrust into a game of lethal hide-and-go-seek by her new in-laws. If she can avoid being murdered (or turns the tables on her new family), she wins. This movie looks fantastic and original and I cannot wait to see it. Ready or Not? Here they come.
Angel Has Fallen - First, they came for the White House in Olympus Has Fallen, then they came for London in London Has Fallen, and now they are coming for Secret Service agent Mike Banning himself in Angel Has Fallen. Originally upon hearing the threequel’s title, I assumed it was going to be an Air Force One redux, but instead it feels like Taken 3, as the hero is now the one being hunted. The second film grossed bout 40% less than the first film, domestically (the European location helped the film out-gross the original worldwide), so the question of how this new installment will do is up in the air. Lots of sequels, like Dark Phoenix, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Men in Black: International, are suffering at the box office this summer, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Angel Has Fallen gets added to that list next.
August 30th
Playmobil - Someone, somewhere: “Well, if The Lego Movie can make almost a half a billion dollars at the box office, why can’t a Playmobil movie do the same?” This August, they find out why.
Now for a quick look ahead to September, my top picks for next month are It: Chapter Two, 21 Bridges, and Ad Astra.

Reworking davidians,, reworking Dora and David for Dora's character proposal while simultaneously working on Firey Jr.'s. But like.
I considered making them paper dolls but Dora going underwater would dissolve her. And Firey Jr would turn her to ashes and I don't. Really wan;;t that. With the dynamic im setting up!!
I considered clay figures. I'm doing that with yellow face because why not. I think him being made of clay makes sense. Davidians and Yellow Face are crudely drawn looking fellows,,
Which does mean scrapping davidland but I think that'll be alright. It'll be worth it.!
I think I'm doing clay models.

Character proposal: Two
May as well be God. They have a power SO intense that the only number with more than them is 2763-- and that's only because 2763 can suppress Algebralien power.
Casual, easy-going, optimistic, tolerant, and friendly! Two gives others several chances, even if they really don't deserve it. Two is either completely in tune or out of touch with what's happening at any given moment.
ADHD friend! Two has their moments of forgetting about their own power.
They crave validation. They find it easy to get attached and difficult to let go.
When Two is hit with extreme emotions, they are hit HARD. They find it very difficult to recover from negative feelings.
Pre-BFDI Two struggles to keep friends. Stuff just kept happening. In wanting to keep friends, and thus being deeply concerned about what others thought of them, they became easy to push around.
I don't know what One's history with Two looks like in canon. All that's for sure is that she was trapped away somewhere but for the redux, I REALLY like the idea of One and Two being friends before that happened. I'm talking close-- possibly best-- friends. One introduced Two to the Equation Playground.
Following the incident, Two felt very mixed. That is-- was?-- their friend, right? One was good to them, wasn't she? Wasn't she??
Their standing with other Algebraliens either is neutral or positive. They weren't particularly close with many-- although it is easy for them to make friends and get along with others. Two hit it off really well with Eight. Eight is chill, easy to be around. Two likes that.
Two and Eight grew close and became QPPs(queer platonic partners!) Unfortunately, like so many times before, something caused them to split up and stop communicating all together. Maybe it has something to do with Fourteen. Right before Fourteen shows his true colors.
This is their last straw. After so many times failed, Two leaves their planet and goes on adventures. They return once or twice-- long enough to see BFDIA and have a WONDERFUL IDEA.
A sudden spark of motivation.
They should host a gameshow........... Aaaand they find something else interesting.
Hosting a gameshow chews at the back of their mind for years until they decide to use their powers to find the contestants of BFDIA-- they'd be loads of fun!!
They land on Earth in time to stop Spongy and Loser from getting ran over by Four. It's BFB!
Four and Two knew each other in the Redux. They weren't friends but they weren't enemies either. So, Four's quote changes from canon--
"What are YOU doing here? D:<"
Two gives Four a joyful wave, doesn't answer his question, and invites people to join TPOT. For now, it's pretty much the same scene as in BFB 16.
X stays behind. For some reason. Two has a chat with them before some BFBers come in and take them back
It takes a lot of reminders from the TPOT contestants to ACTUALLY start the show-- this becomes a running thing.
Two and Gaty get their time together. New friend unlocked!
After BFB ends, Four and X show up looking for something to do. Two offers them a place at the hotel. Four seems OVERJOYED(totally not plotting to use this as a way to get back at Two for taking his contestants!)
Two's toleration REALLY stands out when they're around Four. He's rightfully upset about Two taking over but the way he behaves back would have most done with him. Four and X get to work the kitchen!
Two is quick to swoop in and save the EXITors from Four when they manage to escape him. Two gives Four a good scold for trapping the EXITors like that and then puts them to work in the hotel diner. Dora responds by breaking a window.
Over the course of TPOT, Two becomes sadder and sadder to see competitors go. Two's made friends with and gotten to understand so many of them.
Eliminated contestants that aren't sent to Two's domain are going missing. Being ever the optimist, Two brushes it off, assuring everyone that the eliminated ones are probably somewhere-- they'll be fine and Two'll just send eliminated contestants to their domain quicker from hereon out.
There are consequences to not thinking things through.
Two and Gaty just keep on getting closer. Two eventually brings up QPRs to Gaty around TPOT 12 and Gaty lights up. They are now in a QPR!!
Gaty is eliminated in TPOT 14. Two is heartbroken and sends her away to the kitchen, leaving the contestants under the impression that she was in Two's domain. But, hey! Two can look on the bright side here-- now they can spend more time with Gaty.
This is the longest and best relationship Two has ever had. It's not perfect-- there's some attachment problems to work out, as well as priorities-- but Two is really happy for once.
TPOT 15: Seasonal Shift.
The timeline is fucked up and Two doesn't know how or why. It's fixed, not by the contestants but a force Two can't perceive, and a few changes carry over. Marker is green, there's a big crack in the sky---
A few changes?
Two RUSHES to the kitchen. It's a mess-- bags are sprawled everywhere, some utensils, and lots of food.
No sign of Gaty.
Shit.
Two snaps their fingers over and over, falling to the ground and covering their face, trying not to cry. Nothing is working. Gaty is gone, it's like she never existed in the first place.
Oh GOD. She never..
Two is left alone again and they can't take it.
Two completely shuts down. It's X who finds them in the kitchen and takes them to their room. Fanny and Ice Cube set up shop in there shortly after.
Two blocks it all out. They stare at their ceiling. They can't bring themself to move.
X brings Two food sometimes. Two doesn't eat until they're alone but it's not enough. They can feel their power draining and they just. Don't care anymore.
What's the point in going on if everything they love will be lost again and again?
This concept sat in my draft for a week 💔 I'm so proud of it

do you have any ideas for the teams in the redux? if so can you do Just Not the gamers ever :>
There are. A lot of teams to go over!! Why not?
If you're looking for proposals on specific characters, I recommend searching the #character proposal or the #redux!(Character name) tags!!
Forewarning: this post is LONG!!
SEASON 1!
Team names start off randomized by Announcer himself. Teams also have designated leaders based on challenges-- until Another Name, where Golf Ball volunteers herself with support from Tennis Ball.
Squishy Cherries
Founded and led by Pin after she and Leafy were the last two on the balance beam in episode 1 of BFDI. Bubble, Eraser, Blocky, Match, Pencil, Firey, Pen, Woody, and Spongy join.
Later on, Firey switches to Squashy Grapes and Blocky rejoins onto that team.
The classic alliance between Pencil, Match, and Bubble stays strong, even as they are eliminated.
Pen, Blocky, and Eraser are suuuper close. There's also Snowball but they aren't on the same team so they don't get to spend as much time with him. They probably have their own group nickname.
Not.. quite the best team out there. Sometimes they argue. It's natural but it's also part of why they lose so many challenges. Individuals who do have talents that can help may be overlooked on sheer accident.
Squashy Grapes
Founded and led by Leafy after she and Pin were the last two on the balance beam in episode 1 of BFDI. Needle, Ice Cube, Coiny, Snowball, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, Coiny, Flower, Rocky, and Teardrop join.
Some highlights!!
Firey is picked to go from Squishy Cherries to Squashy Grapes. This is a great tool to further establish Firey's (rocky) friendship with Leafy and rivalry with Coiny.
Blocky rejoins on Squashy Grapes too. Ice Cube now has direct access to him and his shenanigans. She WILL start a legal battle over his deadly pranks, don't test her. (Blocky will do just that)
I want to give Teardrop some highlight in BFDI. She is HIGHLY COMPETITIVE and still perfecting her craft at this time-- and may fumble in the process, costing her team a challenge and getting her eliminated.
The team in general is dedicated to winning-- they have aligning skill sets that allow them to take the W for several challenges.
This forces the team to split, with members joining...
Another Name
Talk about a mixup!
When Firey is convinced that this team should actually be Squashy Grapes. Golf Ball says that they need to be another name and Announcer "accidentally" solidifies them as Another Name. Golf Ball does NOT hesitate to make herself team captain when Announcer asks who Another Name wants it to be. That sets of a trend for every team Golf Ball is in until TPOT.
Rocky, Firey, Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, and Coiny are split up from Squashy Grapes for the final 15.
Firey is argumentative and this does not bode well with Golf Ball. Coiny and Firey are constantly fighting.
When the team is locked in, they are a force to be reckoned. Golf Ball and Tennis Ball are the strategics, Firey is good at executing plans, Coiny is charismatic, and Rocky is... Well. Rocky can spit anything out of his mouth.
SEASON 2!
There are so many teams this season. This is because of season 2's gimmick: team swapping. Every episode, before the challenge wheel is spun, contestants are welcome to change teams as they wish.
The hierarchy in teams is demolished. Teams do not need a captain-- but it doesn't stop some from having leaders and it won't in future seasons.
Do note that I prioritize elimination order over who's on what team!! With all of the swapping that happens, some teams are bound to be removed or put up for elimination over others-- as long as the designated contestant is eliminated.
Team No-Name
The Golf Ball curse strikes again!!
Golf Ball also finds a way to make herself the team leader early on. You go girl!
No-Name starts off as organized chaos. They've got. Golly bear with me again: Bomby, Book, Dora, Firey, Fries, Gelatin, Golf Ball, Ice Cube, Match, Needle, Nickel, Pencil, Puffball, Rocky, Ruby, Spongy, Teardrop, Tennis Ball, and Yellow Face.
Golf Ball has a hard time assigning everyone to jobs. There's SO MANY PEOPLE. They don't need that many to win a cake baking challenge but people want the immunity. So Golf Ball just. Assigns everyone to groups.
As the team gets smaller, it's easier for Golf Ball to manage.
WOAH Bunch and No-Name form in the first episode. FreeSmart forms in the second episode.
This team. I have the least on I think. There's a LOT of dynamics and. I think it having so many people to start off with may be its biggest focus. Understanding balance!!
Beautiful Face Devotion Institute: Gone. Turned to dust. Reduced to atoms. What matters is Spongy getting eliminated in the episode following it's creation, so goodbye to this team!! Team No-Name just loses the challenge.
WOAH Bunch
This team starts off with just Donut. He thinks everyone being on one team defeats the purpose of there being teams at all!! Pin and Coiny get that reasoning and join him.
Teardrop joins WOAH Bunch. Needle joins WOAH Bunch. Yellow Face joins WOAH Bunch. Bomby joins WOAH Bunch. Nickel and Spongy join WOAH Bunch. Rocky joins WOAH Bunch.
Pin acts as the team leader and encourages supporting one another until BFDIA 11. From that point onwards, the team acts more as one entity. Without a head. Much to Pin's frustration.
The team falls apart as time goes on, allowing the merge to happen in BFDIA 18.
FreeSmart
Where bridges burn.
Formed by Pencil's alliance due to how large and chaotic No-Name was, FreeSmart starts off with Pencil, Match, Ice Cube, Ruby, and Book. Bubble is a spectator and host in BFDIA but she helps FreeSmart!!
The goal is, as the name implies, being free. Which makes for great irony with how controlling the team leader is 😋
Pencil acts as FreeSmart's leader for as long as she's in the game and works with the ideal of everything having a use and everyone having a part to play. Be resourceful.
Needle is an off and on member. Gelatin and Firey join FreeSmart with Gelatin leaving a couple of episodes after.
Going into IDFB, where there's no seasons, FreeSmart is still called FreeSmart, although it becomes more of a friend group.
Fries
Can. Can I even call this a team? This is just one guy trying his damnedest to make it through a challenge. Fries'll be getting his own character proposal eventually.
FriesMart
A duo with the parody name suggested by Fries to poke fun at FreeSmart. FriesMart didn't last long, but while it did, Needle and Fries get to have a fun dynamic!!
Fried likes working by himself and Needles likes working with a team. While Fries is a lone wolf, he won't hesitate to help a teammate out, and is ready to do just that in BFDIA 17.
Nickel
LITERALLY just the same case as Fries.
SEASON 4!
Section one: pre-split
To those not in the know: season 3, in canon and in the redux, is not a competition season and will not have teams! So we we are going directly to season 4. BFB is managed...? Kind of? By Four and X. Neither of them did background checks and Four was ambitious enough to host for 64 people.
Season 2's system of having no leaders and letting teams name themselves is kept. However, characters can no longer swap teams whenever they want.
(Note: I may change it to where X shuffles the teams together instead of contestant picking, X tries their hardest to note who's friends and who's not in order to keep teams compatible! It is not a perfect route)
A Better Name Than That
This just in! The Golf Ball curse is BACK.
A Better Name Than That includes 8-Ball, Basketball, Blocky, Golf Ball, Grassy, Robot Flower, Tennis Ball, and TV.
Golf Ball tries to be the team's leader but is thwarted. 8-Ball is elected and does not want the job. 8-Ball is not prepared or mature enough for it-- but hey. He has it now.
Golf Ball STILL tries to assert herself as leader with support from Tennis Ball when 8-Ball is eliminated. The team opts to work as a whole instead-- they want compromise.
They have a strong setup when they know what to do with it. Two strategists in GB and TB, a problem solver in BB, Blocky who's willing to do any dirty work, an organizer in RF, a sense of reasoning in TV, and-
A child. Grassy is five. The best A Better Name Than That can do with Grassy is protect him from Four. I did say Four didn't do background checks!!
Team Competitors!
Renamed from Team Icecube!, as Bracelety is now a huge BFDI hyperfan, not just fixating Ice Cube.
Team Competitors! includes Barf Bag, Bomby, Bracelety, Donut, Firey Jr., Gelatin, Naily, and Spongy.
Donut serves as Team Competitors!'s leader. They are a solid team even with their flaws. The entire team will have a strong bond in pre-split and the main focus will be how ignoring/dismissing someone can hurt their feelings.
Free Food
Free Food includes Bell, Eraser, Foldy, Fries, Marker, Puffball, Stapy, and Yellow Face.
The team has no captain, everyone chips in with ideas and strategies!
It's a random mashup but I think that's why it works so well! Almost everyone is a wild card and they're all unique personalities. They only lose once, costing them Stapy.
This team sparks the friendship between Fries and Puffball, as well as Foldy and Stapy!
Bleh
Bleh is the simple term for it. This team is actually every member's name at once and only algebraliens can pronounce it. Wonderful.
Bleh includes Book, Dora, Gaty, Ice Cube, Lollipop, Saw, Taco, and Teardrop.
Gaty acts as the team leader with backing from Ice Cube and Saw. There's a lot of conflict in Bleh during early BFB so they need a strong mediator at hand. Dora works really hard to carry the team to victory and Teardrop helps too.
The Losers!
The Losers! includes Cake, Clock, Coiny, Eggy, Firey, Loser, Needle, and Pin. Leafy joins The Losers! after being eliminated and returning, being declined by Beep.
Loser acts as the team leader until BFB 6. Needle takes over after. Coiny volunteers Pin without Pin's approval, saying that she is was a great leader in BFDIA!
Loser initially soaks in a lot of attention as a celebrity. High chance what got him out when his team was up for elimination was a targeted attack by his haters.
They do well enough to pass challenges. Unfortunately, there is a lot of problems with them anyways. Needle tries to manage Firey's sudden attitude when Leafy rejoins, Eggy tries to help but ultimately fails to, Pin is acting mildly uncomfortable every time BFDIA is brought up and it's leaving Coiny concerned, and Cake is growing stressed and uncertain with every coming episode.
Iance
"We aren't all in your alliance." -Fanny, probably
Iance includes Bubble, Fanny, Flower, Lightning, Match, Pencil, Ruby, and Snowball.
The healthiest friendships on this team are probably Ruby and Bubble and Ruby and Flower.
Pencil leads the team in the first two episodes. She isn't on the team for long but while she is, she pushes her ideals of everyone having a use-- and mistreating the team. Match takes over after, pushing the same ideals before Bubble confronts her and she's eliminated. Bubble encourages Ruby to lead once Match is gone.
Fanny is dumbed down by her own teammates as "Really Fucking Hopeless". Lightning gets his insecurities and powers exploited. Snowball is ableist. Match overworks everyone. Ruby isn't quite done enabling bad behavior, that happens a bit too late. Bubble is about to burst.
Death PACT
Death Prevention and Creating Trust.
Death PACT includes Black Hole, Bottle, Liy, Pen, Pie, Pillow, Remote, and Tree.
Black Hole and Tree take turns leading the team or work together-- it entirely depends on the situation. While the duo focuses on both parts of the pact, they do lean into different areas; Tree with the trust and Black Hole with the prevention.
For team conflict: Liy, during her short time on the team, feels ignored by everyone but Pie. Death PACT also spends a lot of time wrangling Pillow. Black Hole, while it doesn't let this be known, is actively stressing over Four and Pillow's violence.
On the bright side, Death PACT gets along really well! Remote is determined to learn from everyone, Bottle and Pie are great emotional support, Pillow(although destructive) is skilled enough at challenges to help Death PACT avoid elimination, as is Pen, and Black Hole and Tree are great leaders!
Beep
Beep includes Balloony, Cloudy, David, Leafy, Nickel, Roboty, Rocky, and Woody.
Leafy acted as Beep's leader until her elimination. Balloony would take over after.
Balloony is the team dad, no doubt. Cloudy and Nickel act as moral support. David tries his hardest. Rocky is good at challenges and close with Balloon. Woody quit shows after BFDI and declined Four's invitation but. Four would NOT let that slide. Roboty sits out most challenges.
Part 2: post-split
Teams have been split depending on if they're closer to yellow or blue in hue. Except for Ruby because why not. Put her on the blue team.
I've got 14 episodes to work with and nowhere near as many characters to worry about!!
Have Cots
Have Cots includes Balloony, Bubble, Gelatin, Leafy, Lollipop, Ruby, and Teardrop.
A solid lineup!! Everyone gets along fine. The Have Cots have no leader, everyone pitches in equally.
Balloony continues to be team dad until his elimination. Lollipop and Teardrop definitely have romantic tension and involve Gelatin into their fun alliance. Ruby and Bubble are getting to the end of their FreeSmart arc: Ruby is finally being herself and Bubble is moving on.
Have Nots
They end up living in the redux equivalent of the BRB! A shelter Four and X made for eliminated contestants to stay at. Spinning people around at mach 10 24/7 is going to kill them constantly and I don't think Four is going to want to do all of that recovering.
Have Nots includes Blocky, Firey, Flower, Loser, Spongy, Taco, and Woody.
This team also has no leader!!
Blocky is getting into pranks again. Woody's been spending the whole season coming out of his shell-- and now his new team is treating him like a child. Taco has her rivalry with Blocky and, following her elimination, will be investigating strange occurrences. Loser is moral support. Firey is getting along with everyone, his main focus is Leafy. Flower is also getting along with everyone, especially Firey! The pair of them are growing close. Spongy doesn't,, really have long on the show. His arc is pretty much complete by post-split, so he'll be a tool to help further others' arcs-- particularly with Woody.
SEASON 5
TPOT follows pre-split's format of letting contestants choose and name their teams-- though there is a mixup thanks to One during the first(only?) team swap.
Just Not
Just Not includes Bomby, Book, Cake, Naily, Nickel, Pillow, and Price Tag.
Naily initially leads the team but after her elimination Just Not has no leader! They are a giant friend group.
Price Tag is learning how to balance their skills to avoid overstressing, they are also DMing a Goiky's Dragons campaign involving the whole team. Book is. Very much so acting as a shoulder for Cake while Cake's still in the game. They all get to deal with Pillow and her shenanigans during challenges and Goiky's Dragons sessions. Bomby and Nickel are going to have their own mini arc together. I think. Before One kidnaps Bomby.
Death PACT Again
Death PACT Again includes Black Hole, Fanny, Lightning, Marker, Pie, Remote, and Tree.
Black Hole acts as the team's sole leader going into TPOT. He tries his hardest to keep his cool and drills his focus into preventing death that he's becoming paranoid about it.
Death PACT Again's story is about finding the right balance. Fanny pushes hard for that balance, especially after Lightning is eliminated-- this being the turning point for the team. They lose Pie and Remote as well. The way they handle death also causes Tree to be stuck in the canal for several episodes and he HATES it.
The Best
Renamed from The Strongest Team On Earth.
The Best includes Basketball, Bell, Eggy, Foldy, Grassy, Robot Flower, and Snowball.
Basketball leads The Best. Snowball intrudes and shares the responsibility a few episodes in as Basketball busies herself with a thousand things.
Grassy is still a child-- being in BFB and TPOT is going to effect him in the long run. As Basketball becomes busier, he latches onto Snowball as a parental figure. Bell is working on establishing her boundaries. Robot Flower and Basketball are growing closer-- RF's kill maim tear arc starts on The Best.
Are You Okay
The Golf Ball curse has been broken!! If Tennis Ball hadn't interrupted Golf Ball, it would've been A Good Name.
Are You Okay includes Eraser, Fries, Golf Ball, Pen, Puffball, Tennis Ball, and TV.
Golf Ball acts as leader with Tennis Ball by her side.
Puffball is growing tired of being underutilized. Fries tries to be there for her!! Pen and Eraser chill together a lot-- Eraser's focus is a rivalry not on the team. TV's arc will transition into his next team but he's starting to be tired of being used. Like. There's a whole team to go for, Golf Ball!! Puffball actively wants to help more!!
Team8s
Team8s include Barf Bag, Coiny, Donut, Gaty, Needle, Pin, and Saw.
This team has a constant power struggle. Barf Bag, Donut, Needle, and Gaty are all fighting to lead, with Gaty eventually sitting it out as her focus changes.
The characters here share traits and it causes a LOT of arguments. Gaty initially tries to mediate, it doesn't go as planned. Saw acts as a listening ear to anyone who needs it. Unfortunately, Saw gets out before Barf Bag could really use someone to talk to.
The S!
The S! includes Bottle, Clock, Cloudy, Ice Cube, Rocky, Winner, and Yellow Face.
Winner is pushed to be team leader by Clock. They aren't against it but. Don't appreciate how Clock went about it.
The S! is very chill. A good group to be yourself in. Clock is actively pushing Winner's boundaries. Yellow Face is team dad. Bottle, Cloudy, Yellow Face, and Rocky are all very whimsical-- it helps Ice Cube let loose too.
Teardrop
Girl just. Switched from BFB after it ended. She has to try extra hard in order to avoid being eliminated-- as long as she's not in the bottom two teams, she should be fine.
-
The teams are shuffled by One.
Team 2
Team 2 includes Book, Eraser, Grassy, Ice Cube, Price Tag, and Snowball.
Snowball leads Team 2 to the best of his ability.
Ice Cube and Book are basically forced to interact after years apart-- they become friends again and Price Tag gets involved after keeping Pencil from them. Grassy and Snowball are still a son and father duo and Eraser is like. A fun uncle.
Death PACT Yet Again
Death PACT Yet Again includes Black Hole, Fanny, Gaty, Marker, Pin, Robot Flower, and Tree.
Black Hole and Tree balance leadership again-- with Tree handling the main responsibility of the team as Black Hole prioritizes maintaining the RIP IN REALITY right outside of the hotel.
Pin and Tree already had good standing, as Pin empathized with Tree being stuck in the lake; now they're good friends. They had to wrangle Robot Flower for an episode-- then she was magically fixed? Somehow??? Fanny busies herself with research outside of challenges but during then she can be a voice of reason-- albeit on the more negative side versus Gaty's positivity. Marker is here to lighten the mood.
Bagged
Bagged includes Basketball, Bottle, Liy, Needle, Pen, Tennis Ball, and TV.
Tennis Ball leads Bagged. He needs a lot of moral support to do this.. she's used to working WITH someone and Bagged saw that and went "Yeah. She'll do." BUT HE WON'T. Without a second leader he is STREEEEEEEEEEEEESSED.
Needle was initially willing to lead with Tennis Ball but she was eliminated and disappeared. Gone with no explanation.
Pen is greatly upset after TPOT 15. He has a lot of unrevealed anger as his friends keep getting out-- and because of Two's bedrotting, it may be a long time before he gets to see them again. Liy strategizes with him to help him manifest and use that anger. TV is at his wits' end with being used. Basketball is having focused outside of Bagged-- Robot Flower, specifically. Bottle is still here to lighten the mood!! But the stress of others is starting to get to her. Empathy GO!!!
CloudYAY
I am debating changing the team name 💔 but I don't know what to
CloudYAY includes Barf Bag, Donut, Golf Ball, Pencil, Pillow, Winner, and Yellow Face.
There is a leadership struggle between Golf Ball, and Pencil. Most of the team would rather work as a whole, or have Donut take charge as he actually considers everyone. When Golf Ball or Pencil take the wheel, they can be controlling. While Golf Ball is learning to stop this behavior, Pencil isn't.
Pillow is having her turning point-- she's getting consequences for her murder spree(aka not a lot of trust from her team) and therapy !! Yellow Face is still trying to be goofy team dad but it's getting hard. Winner is there by Yellow Face's side so... It's not all bad.
-
I THINK I SPENT A WEEK ON THIS. AAAHHHHH

can you do a proposal for firey jr? /nf
YES
Redux Firey Jr,,, full of anger and stuff
Pencil was not the only one who suffered.
Critical, clever, impulsive, bold, insensitive, and a follower.
TEENAGE BOY.
Firey Jr houses a lot of anger. Anger towards his parents, anger towards Four, and anger towards Team Competitors!
He insists he can take care of himself but he doesn't want to be alone.
Sometimes struggles to articulate his thoughts and feelings.
Firey Jr also has a habit of dismissing others. His feelings are none of your concern so uh! Leave him be!!
If he respects you, he will share your opinion. He will support you. But once his respect for you shifts,, so does his behavior towards you.
He is not Firey's son. Well, not the BFDI winner Firey. One of his parents is named that, though. It's just. A total coincidence.
Firey Jr had it rough growing up. His childhood,, wasn't perfect. His parents were either too busy or were picking over Firey Jr's choices like vultures. Watching and judging. He's never enough for them. He's nEVER enough for them.
He can take care of himself, they say. Then turn around and tell him he needs their help.
He hates it.
So, as an act of rebellion, he applies for BFB and got in. The bus arrives, already full of people. His parents are at work, leaving him alone. Firey Jr doesn't hesitate to step in and ignores curious eyes.
He does not know what he's getting himself into.
There's 64 people. Jesus.
Firey Jr gets into Team Competitors!
He ultimately loons up to Barf Bag and Donut. Look at them. Mature, reasonable, kind adults. Unlike his parents. They're also leaders. They also treat him with care.
They treat the whole team with care. Donut tells Firey Jr that there's nobody quite like him and it makes Firey Jr feel important.
Firey Jr involves himself in their conversations. Look! At him! He can be mature and reasonable too. See guys? They totally see. Mmm.
But, the further into the season, the further Firey Jr realizes how dismissed he really is. All they see is a kid.
He's not just a kid. He can prove it. They'll see him. They'll respect him like they should've episodes ago.
Of course, he eventually bursts and starts an argument. This leads to his elimination-- where Barf Bag tries to let him down lightly and Donut is a lot more,, straightforward, telling him that maybe it's a good thing that there's nobody quite like him.
What?
Firey Jr is caught off guard. To hear that coming from someone he looked up to? Truly shameful. Seriously.
As he starts to rant, Four just. Sends him to the EXIT.
Spongy and Loser escape. Firey Jr almost does. This feeds his anger.
THIS KID GETS NO OPPORTUNITY TO GET MENTAL HEALTH HELP 😭😭😭
He grows closest to Dora and 8-Ball. They're essentially his guardians. Firey Jr doesn't like that they won't let him go off on his own when the exploring starts.
This is because Four pops in and out to check on the EXITors.
Firey Jr HATES Four. He will antagonize Four in little ways. He feels justified in it. The hate is mutual.
Four years pass. Firey Jr is a fresh adult by the time they escape.
Most people at 18 get looked at and told that hey! You're supposed to be mature by now. Ready to do adult things. Ready to be an adult.
But Firey Jr didn't really get that chance. He never really got to be a kid either. Everything was trouble after trouble after trouble. He hasn't changed, not in a way that would make others tell him that. He's acting like an adult.
He never got to be a kid. He never got to be anything.
When the EXITor join happens, Firey Jr is one of the ones knocked into the storm, way out into the mountains, where he finds an abandoned cabin to stay in while the storm passed through.
Firey Jr decides to live at the cabin in lonesome due to fear of stepping into the snow. If it's too deep, Firey Jr could slip in and be put out. And living alone means nobody would know he died.
One day, late 2019, some TPOT contestants show up for a challenge-- and to supposedly take a rest.
But things can't be easy, can they?
Conflict arises. Firey Jr tries to make them leave and, in a flare of anger, sets the cabin on fire.
It's. Unclear if he survives the following chaks. I don't know if he does in canon. If he does in canon, nobody notices and nobody recovers him. If he doesn't, he might just be lost again. This kid dude
One thing about Firey Jr: he never does stop caring about the friends and family he has, as angry or spiteful or hateful as he may act. He didn't get to mature past 14 year old boy and he may not any time soon.
He wants to be loved and respected. He wants to be treated with care and kindness. He had that with Dora and 8-Ball and now they're gone.
He doesn't know what to do or where to go.

if you're comfortable with it, may i ask how old the contestants in the redux are?
it's a good idea to get into the timeline!! I need to map that out!
BFDI starts out in January 1st, 2010, contestants joining are usually between 18 and 25 years old.
The shortest gap between contested seasons is BFDI and BFDIA. BFDIA will start in mid-late 2011. BFDIA will last until ,, early 2013 maybe.
IDFB goes on from 2013 to 2015. BFB starts in early-mid 2015.
We know Pencil, first eliminated in BFB, is stuck in the EXIT for 6 years. This would mean TPOT 12 takes place in about 2021. SO! I will be making some changes there.
Two comes down during the middle of BFB-- possibly late 2015 or early 2016. This results in the show's length being shortened. With a gap between pre and post-split as the hosts figure out what to do from here on out, we're looking at 2017 being when BFB ends.
Two gets TPOT on its knees in 2016 and doesn't host beyond the first episode until BFB ends. So, like.. the contestants are waiting several years unless I shorten the time between that. Which I think is what I'll do.
TPOT episodes have the largest gaps of time between them because Two is always off doing things! Atwosment park, exploring, chilling, projects.! And Two's eventual bedrotting.
I need two years between BFB 30 and TPOT 18. I need a decent amount of time between BFB 1 and TPOT 12.
2010: BFDI
2011-2013: BFDIA
2013-2015: IDFB
2015-2017: (in order) BFB start, TPOT split, BFB end
2017: TPOT start
Early 2019: TPOT 12
Mid 2019: TPOT 13 - TPOT 15
2020+: TPOT ongoing
