Character proposal: Cake
I feel like Cake didn't get enough time to shine in the whole of BFDI.
With The Losers getting rewritten to give each member more agency, Cake will have his time!
Cake has untreated DPD developed pre-BFDI.
his parents are not in a healthy relationship!! But they refused to break up for Cake's sake. It... Didn't go as planned.
He also had MEEEAAAAN school bullies.
By his appearance in the show, Cake is around the age of a young adult.
Cake is shy and an overall very sweet person. He's well-intentioned and easily bothered.
A bit of a Goiky's Dragons fan.
Cake is a HUUUGE Loser fan. During his teenagehood he used to listen to podcasts from Loser, buy merchandise, and watch content featuring Loser-- he found those to be good distractions. Hearing Loser's trans experience helped Cake go through his own.
He once got to go to a performance. His grandparents took him!
Cake is SO HAPPY to see Loser in BFB,, but also kinda nervous. THAT'S HIS IDOL!!
He follows Loser around like a lost puppy and goes to Loser for help with his problems. He's the same with the rest of The Losers-- but not nearly as much as he is with Loser.
Loser is eliminated. For a while, Cake's... uncertain. He grows closer to other members of The Losers instead and wow! I am going to let this team be dysfunctional with or without loser, especially after everyone realizes hey. Hey! Loser's not someone to put on a pedestal.
There's tension on The Losers. Past drama Cake isn't familiar with is stirred up and uncomfortable amount. Firey and Leafy are NOT playing nice. (Seriously, Leafy joining The Losers made Firey meaner.) Pin dances around the topic of BFDIA. Coiny is struggling to mend things between him and Firey. Eggy and Needle are TRYING to hold everything together. Cake is just... Here. He's not actually that close to anyone. Hm.
When Two comes and Loser escapes Four, Cake is uncertain about switching shows. Cake's been doing better without Loser and I think I know how to seal that.
Kickstart the friendship between Book and Cake.
Loser is off being Loser, probably telling contestants to do what they think is right. Yeah. But not Cake.
Perhaps this is the start of Cake's realization. Hr doesn't need Loser. He doesn't need The Losers.
He comes across Book after she and Taco had a tense talk. Cake stands there awkwardly, Book asks if he's alright, he kinda nods and looks away.
Book is learning the power of healthy communication. She is quick to ask Cake--
"Do you want to talk about it?"
The weight on him starts to lighten. It feels good.
So, he follows Book to TPOT, walking with her off-screen and talking about his experiences as his voice fades out.
In TPOT, Cake joins Just Nots with Book.
This is a WONDERFUL IDEA!! He gets into an old interest and starts a Goiky's Dragons campaign with the whole team. They also get along wonderfully!!
Buuuuuut there's Pillow. Cake doesn't say anything to her but he doesn't appreciate the way she treats him or Bomby. Those two are the first in TPOT to have a strained relationship with her.
Pillow also ended their Goiky's Dragons campaign. Thanks. Wow.
Cake gets to be friends with everyone but finds himself closest with Book. The two talk about their history with each other. Book can empathize with Cake's struggles with The Losers and his DPD. Book actually helps Cake through it up until his elimination.
A series of shorts could be made to flesh out side characters(think BFDI:TPOT: Plan Dissolve Adhesive) and Cake would be one of the perfect characters for it. He gets out pretty early in TPOT :[

Note
do you have any ideas for the teams in the redux? if so can you do Just Not the gamers ever :>
There are. A lot of teams to go over!! Why not?
If you're looking for proposals on specific characters, I recommend searching the #character proposal or the #redux!(Character name) tags!!
Forewarning: this post is LONG!!
SEASON 1!
Team names start off randomized by Announcer himself. Teams also have designated leaders based on challenges-- until Another Name, where Golf Ball volunteers herself with support from Tennis Ball.
Squishy Cherries
Founded and led by Pin after she and Leafy were the last two on the balance beam in episode 1 of BFDI. Bubble, Eraser, Blocky, Match, Pencil, Firey, Pen, Woody, and Spongy join.
Later on, Firey switches to Squashy Grapes and Blocky rejoins onto that team.
The classic alliance between Pencil, Match, and Bubble stays strong, even as they are eliminated.
Pen, Blocky, and Eraser are suuuper close. There's also Snowball but they aren't on the same team so they don't get to spend as much time with him. They probably have their own group nickname.
Not.. quite the best team out there. Sometimes they argue. It's natural but it's also part of why they lose so many challenges. Individuals who do have talents that can help may be overlooked on sheer accident.
Squashy Grapes
Founded and led by Leafy after she and Pin were the last two on the balance beam in episode 1 of BFDI. Needle, Ice Cube, Coiny, Snowball, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, Coiny, Flower, Rocky, and Teardrop join.
Some highlights!!
Firey is picked to go from Squishy Cherries to Squashy Grapes. This is a great tool to further establish Firey's (rocky) friendship with Leafy and rivalry with Coiny.
Blocky rejoins on Squashy Grapes too. Ice Cube now has direct access to him and his shenanigans. She WILL start a legal battle over his deadly pranks, don't test her. (Blocky will do just that)
I want to give Teardrop some highlight in BFDI. She is HIGHLY COMPETITIVE and still perfecting her craft at this time-- and may fumble in the process, costing her team a challenge and getting her eliminated.
The team in general is dedicated to winning-- they have aligning skill sets that allow them to take the W for several challenges.
This forces the team to split, with members joining...
Another Name
Talk about a mixup!
When Firey is convinced that this team should actually be Squashy Grapes. Golf Ball says that they need to be another name and Announcer "accidentally" solidifies them as Another Name. Golf Ball does NOT hesitate to make herself team captain when Announcer asks who Another Name wants it to be. That sets of a trend for every team Golf Ball is in until TPOT.
Rocky, Firey, Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, and Coiny are split up from Squashy Grapes for the final 15.
Firey is argumentative and this does not bode well with Golf Ball. Coiny and Firey are constantly fighting.
When the team is locked in, they are a force to be reckoned. Golf Ball and Tennis Ball are the strategics, Firey is good at executing plans, Coiny is charismatic, and Rocky is... Well. Rocky can spit anything out of his mouth.
SEASON 2!
There are so many teams this season. This is because of season 2's gimmick: team swapping. Every episode, before the challenge wheel is spun, contestants are welcome to change teams as they wish.
The hierarchy in teams is demolished. Teams do not need a captain-- but it doesn't stop some from having leaders and it won't in future seasons.
Do note that I prioritize elimination order over who's on what team!! With all of the swapping that happens, some teams are bound to be removed or put up for elimination over others-- as long as the designated contestant is eliminated.
Team No-Name
The Golf Ball curse strikes again!!
Golf Ball also finds a way to make herself the team leader early on. You go girl!
No-Name starts off as organized chaos. They've got. Golly bear with me again: Bomby, Book, Dora, Firey, Fries, Gelatin, Golf Ball, Ice Cube, Match, Needle, Nickel, Pencil, Puffball, Rocky, Ruby, Spongy, Teardrop, Tennis Ball, and Yellow Face.
Golf Ball has a hard time assigning everyone to jobs. There's SO MANY PEOPLE. They don't need that many to win a cake baking challenge but people want the immunity. So Golf Ball just. Assigns everyone to groups.
As the team gets smaller, it's easier for Golf Ball to manage.
WOAH Bunch and No-Name form in the first episode. FreeSmart forms in the second episode.
This team. I have the least on I think. There's a LOT of dynamics and. I think it having so many people to start off with may be its biggest focus. Understanding balance!!
Beautiful Face Devotion Institute: Gone. Turned to dust. Reduced to atoms. What matters is Spongy getting eliminated in the episode following it's creation, so goodbye to this team!! Team No-Name just loses the challenge.
WOAH Bunch
This team starts off with just Donut. He thinks everyone being on one team defeats the purpose of there being teams at all!! Pin and Coiny get that reasoning and join him.
Teardrop joins WOAH Bunch. Needle joins WOAH Bunch. Yellow Face joins WOAH Bunch. Bomby joins WOAH Bunch. Nickel and Spongy join WOAH Bunch. Rocky joins WOAH Bunch.
Pin acts as the team leader and encourages supporting one another until BFDIA 11. From that point onwards, the team acts more as one entity. Without a head. Much to Pin's frustration.
The team falls apart as time goes on, allowing the merge to happen in BFDIA 18.
FreeSmart
Where bridges burn.
Formed by Pencil's alliance due to how large and chaotic No-Name was, FreeSmart starts off with Pencil, Match, Ice Cube, Ruby, and Book. Bubble is a spectator and host in BFDIA but she helps FreeSmart!!
The goal is, as the name implies, being free. Which makes for great irony with how controlling the team leader is 😋
Pencil acts as FreeSmart's leader for as long as she's in the game and works with the ideal of everything having a use and everyone having a part to play. Be resourceful.
Needle is an off and on member. Gelatin and Firey join FreeSmart with Gelatin leaving a couple of episodes after.
Going into IDFB, where there's no seasons, FreeSmart is still called FreeSmart, although it becomes more of a friend group.
Fries
Can. Can I even call this a team? This is just one guy trying his damnedest to make it through a challenge. Fries'll be getting his own character proposal eventually.
FriesMart
A duo with the parody name suggested by Fries to poke fun at FreeSmart. FriesMart didn't last long, but while it did, Needle and Fries get to have a fun dynamic!!
Fried likes working by himself and Needles likes working with a team. While Fries is a lone wolf, he won't hesitate to help a teammate out, and is ready to do just that in BFDIA 17.
Nickel
LITERALLY just the same case as Fries.
SEASON 4!
Section one: pre-split
To those not in the know: season 3, in canon and in the redux, is not a competition season and will not have teams! So we we are going directly to season 4. BFB is managed...? Kind of? By Four and X. Neither of them did background checks and Four was ambitious enough to host for 64 people.
Season 2's system of having no leaders and letting teams name themselves is kept. However, characters can no longer swap teams whenever they want.
(Note: I may change it to where X shuffles the teams together instead of contestant picking, X tries their hardest to note who's friends and who's not in order to keep teams compatible! It is not a perfect route)
A Better Name Than That
This just in! The Golf Ball curse is BACK.
A Better Name Than That includes 8-Ball, Basketball, Blocky, Golf Ball, Grassy, Robot Flower, Tennis Ball, and TV.
Golf Ball tries to be the team's leader but is thwarted. 8-Ball is elected and does not want the job. 8-Ball is not prepared or mature enough for it-- but hey. He has it now.
Golf Ball STILL tries to assert herself as leader with support from Tennis Ball when 8-Ball is eliminated. The team opts to work as a whole instead-- they want compromise.
They have a strong setup when they know what to do with it. Two strategists in GB and TB, a problem solver in BB, Blocky who's willing to do any dirty work, an organizer in RF, a sense of reasoning in TV, and-
A child. Grassy is five. The best A Better Name Than That can do with Grassy is protect him from Four. I did say Four didn't do background checks!!
Team Competitors!
Renamed from Team Icecube!, as Bracelety is now a huge BFDI hyperfan, not just fixating Ice Cube.
Team Competitors! includes Barf Bag, Bomby, Bracelety, Donut, Firey Jr., Gelatin, Naily, and Spongy.
Donut serves as Team Competitors!'s leader. They are a solid team even with their flaws. The entire team will have a strong bond in pre-split and the main focus will be how ignoring/dismissing someone can hurt their feelings.
Free Food
Free Food includes Bell, Eraser, Foldy, Fries, Marker, Puffball, Stapy, and Yellow Face.
The team has no captain, everyone chips in with ideas and strategies!
It's a random mashup but I think that's why it works so well! Almost everyone is a wild card and they're all unique personalities. They only lose once, costing them Stapy.
This team sparks the friendship between Fries and Puffball, as well as Foldy and Stapy!
Bleh
Bleh is the simple term for it. This team is actually every member's name at once and only algebraliens can pronounce it. Wonderful.
Bleh includes Book, Dora, Gaty, Ice Cube, Lollipop, Saw, Taco, and Teardrop.
Gaty acts as the team leader with backing from Ice Cube and Saw. There's a lot of conflict in Bleh during early BFB so they need a strong mediator at hand. Dora works really hard to carry the team to victory and Teardrop helps too.
The Losers!
The Losers! includes Cake, Clock, Coiny, Eggy, Firey, Loser, Needle, and Pin. Leafy joins The Losers! after being eliminated and returning, being declined by Beep.
Loser acts as the team leader until BFB 6. Needle takes over after. Coiny volunteers Pin without Pin's approval, saying that she is was a great leader in BFDIA!
Loser initially soaks in a lot of attention as a celebrity. High chance what got him out when his team was up for elimination was a targeted attack by his haters.
They do well enough to pass challenges. Unfortunately, there is a lot of problems with them anyways. Needle tries to manage Firey's sudden attitude when Leafy rejoins, Eggy tries to help but ultimately fails to, Pin is acting mildly uncomfortable every time BFDIA is brought up and it's leaving Coiny concerned, and Cake is growing stressed and uncertain with every coming episode.
Iance
"We aren't all in your alliance." -Fanny, probably
Iance includes Bubble, Fanny, Flower, Lightning, Match, Pencil, Ruby, and Snowball.
The healthiest friendships on this team are probably Ruby and Bubble and Ruby and Flower.
Pencil leads the team in the first two episodes. She isn't on the team for long but while she is, she pushes her ideals of everyone having a use-- and mistreating the team. Match takes over after, pushing the same ideals before Bubble confronts her and she's eliminated. Bubble encourages Ruby to lead once Match is gone.
Fanny is dumbed down by her own teammates as "Really Fucking Hopeless". Lightning gets his insecurities and powers exploited. Snowball is ableist. Match overworks everyone. Ruby isn't quite done enabling bad behavior, that happens a bit too late. Bubble is about to burst.
Death PACT
Death Prevention and Creating Trust.
Death PACT includes Black Hole, Bottle, Liy, Pen, Pie, Pillow, Remote, and Tree.
Black Hole and Tree take turns leading the team or work together-- it entirely depends on the situation. While the duo focuses on both parts of the pact, they do lean into different areas; Tree with the trust and Black Hole with the prevention.
For team conflict: Liy, during her short time on the team, feels ignored by everyone but Pie. Death PACT also spends a lot of time wrangling Pillow. Black Hole, while it doesn't let this be known, is actively stressing over Four and Pillow's violence.
On the bright side, Death PACT gets along really well! Remote is determined to learn from everyone, Bottle and Pie are great emotional support, Pillow(although destructive) is skilled enough at challenges to help Death PACT avoid elimination, as is Pen, and Black Hole and Tree are great leaders!
Beep
Beep includes Balloony, Cloudy, David, Leafy, Nickel, Roboty, Rocky, and Woody.
Leafy acted as Beep's leader until her elimination. Balloony would take over after.
Balloony is the team dad, no doubt. Cloudy and Nickel act as moral support. David tries his hardest. Rocky is good at challenges and close with Balloon. Woody quit shows after BFDI and declined Four's invitation but. Four would NOT let that slide. Roboty sits out most challenges.
Part 2: post-split
Teams have been split depending on if they're closer to yellow or blue in hue. Except for Ruby because why not. Put her on the blue team.
I've got 14 episodes to work with and nowhere near as many characters to worry about!!
Have Cots
Have Cots includes Balloony, Bubble, Gelatin, Leafy, Lollipop, Ruby, and Teardrop.
A solid lineup!! Everyone gets along fine. The Have Cots have no leader, everyone pitches in equally.
Balloony continues to be team dad until his elimination. Lollipop and Teardrop definitely have romantic tension and involve Gelatin into their fun alliance. Ruby and Bubble are getting to the end of their FreeSmart arc: Ruby is finally being herself and Bubble is moving on.
Have Nots
They end up living in the redux equivalent of the BRB! A shelter Four and X made for eliminated contestants to stay at. Spinning people around at mach 10 24/7 is going to kill them constantly and I don't think Four is going to want to do all of that recovering.
Have Nots includes Blocky, Firey, Flower, Loser, Spongy, Taco, and Woody.
This team also has no leader!!
Blocky is getting into pranks again. Woody's been spending the whole season coming out of his shell-- and now his new team is treating him like a child. Taco has her rivalry with Blocky and, following her elimination, will be investigating strange occurrences. Loser is moral support. Firey is getting along with everyone, his main focus is Leafy. Flower is also getting along with everyone, especially Firey! The pair of them are growing close. Spongy doesn't,, really have long on the show. His arc is pretty much complete by post-split, so he'll be a tool to help further others' arcs-- particularly with Woody.
SEASON 5
TPOT follows pre-split's format of letting contestants choose and name their teams-- though there is a mixup thanks to One during the first(only?) team swap.
Just Not
Just Not includes Bomby, Book, Cake, Naily, Nickel, Pillow, and Price Tag.
Naily initially leads the team but after her elimination Just Not has no leader! They are a giant friend group.
Price Tag is learning how to balance their skills to avoid overstressing, they are also DMing a Goiky's Dragons campaign involving the whole team. Book is. Very much so acting as a shoulder for Cake while Cake's still in the game. They all get to deal with Pillow and her shenanigans during challenges and Goiky's Dragons sessions. Bomby and Nickel are going to have their own mini arc together. I think. Before One kidnaps Bomby.
Death PACT Again
Death PACT Again includes Black Hole, Fanny, Lightning, Marker, Pie, Remote, and Tree.
Black Hole acts as the team's sole leader going into TPOT. He tries his hardest to keep his cool and drills his focus into preventing death that he's becoming paranoid about it.
Death PACT Again's story is about finding the right balance. Fanny pushes hard for that balance, especially after Lightning is eliminated-- this being the turning point for the team. They lose Pie and Remote as well. The way they handle death also causes Tree to be stuck in the canal for several episodes and he HATES it.
The Best
Renamed from The Strongest Team On Earth.
The Best includes Basketball, Bell, Eggy, Foldy, Grassy, Robot Flower, and Snowball.
Basketball leads The Best. Snowball intrudes and shares the responsibility a few episodes in as Basketball busies herself with a thousand things.
Grassy is still a child-- being in BFB and TPOT is going to effect him in the long run. As Basketball becomes busier, he latches onto Snowball as a parental figure. Bell is working on establishing her boundaries. Robot Flower and Basketball are growing closer-- RF's kill maim tear arc starts on The Best.
Are You Okay
The Golf Ball curse has been broken!! If Tennis Ball hadn't interrupted Golf Ball, it would've been A Good Name.
Are You Okay includes Eraser, Fries, Golf Ball, Pen, Puffball, Tennis Ball, and TV.
Golf Ball acts as leader with Tennis Ball by her side.
Puffball is growing tired of being underutilized. Fries tries to be there for her!! Pen and Eraser chill together a lot-- Eraser's focus is a rivalry not on the team. TV's arc will transition into his next team but he's starting to be tired of being used. Like. There's a whole team to go for, Golf Ball!! Puffball actively wants to help more!!
Team8s
Team8s include Barf Bag, Coiny, Donut, Gaty, Needle, Pin, and Saw.
This team has a constant power struggle. Barf Bag, Donut, Needle, and Gaty are all fighting to lead, with Gaty eventually sitting it out as her focus changes.
The characters here share traits and it causes a LOT of arguments. Gaty initially tries to mediate, it doesn't go as planned. Saw acts as a listening ear to anyone who needs it. Unfortunately, Saw gets out before Barf Bag could really use someone to talk to.
The S!
The S! includes Bottle, Clock, Cloudy, Ice Cube, Rocky, Winner, and Yellow Face.
Winner is pushed to be team leader by Clock. They aren't against it but. Don't appreciate how Clock went about it.
The S! is very chill. A good group to be yourself in. Clock is actively pushing Winner's boundaries. Yellow Face is team dad. Bottle, Cloudy, Yellow Face, and Rocky are all very whimsical-- it helps Ice Cube let loose too.
Teardrop
Girl just. Switched from BFB after it ended. She has to try extra hard in order to avoid being eliminated-- as long as she's not in the bottom two teams, she should be fine.
-
The teams are shuffled by One.
Team 2
Team 2 includes Book, Eraser, Grassy, Ice Cube, Price Tag, and Snowball.
Snowball leads Team 2 to the best of his ability.
Ice Cube and Book are basically forced to interact after years apart-- they become friends again and Price Tag gets involved after keeping Pencil from them. Grassy and Snowball are still a son and father duo and Eraser is like. A fun uncle.
Death PACT Yet Again
Death PACT Yet Again includes Black Hole, Fanny, Gaty, Marker, Pin, Robot Flower, and Tree.
Black Hole and Tree balance leadership again-- with Tree handling the main responsibility of the team as Black Hole prioritizes maintaining the RIP IN REALITY right outside of the hotel.
Pin and Tree already had good standing, as Pin empathized with Tree being stuck in the lake; now they're good friends. They had to wrangle Robot Flower for an episode-- then she was magically fixed? Somehow??? Fanny busies herself with research outside of challenges but during then she can be a voice of reason-- albeit on the more negative side versus Gaty's positivity. Marker is here to lighten the mood.
Bagged
Bagged includes Basketball, Bottle, Liy, Needle, Pen, Tennis Ball, and TV.
Tennis Ball leads Bagged. He needs a lot of moral support to do this.. she's used to working WITH someone and Bagged saw that and went "Yeah. She'll do." BUT HE WON'T. Without a second leader he is STREEEEEEEEEEEEESSED.
Needle was initially willing to lead with Tennis Ball but she was eliminated and disappeared. Gone with no explanation.
Pen is greatly upset after TPOT 15. He has a lot of unrevealed anger as his friends keep getting out-- and because of Two's bedrotting, it may be a long time before he gets to see them again. Liy strategizes with him to help him manifest and use that anger. TV is at his wits' end with being used. Basketball is having focused outside of Bagged-- Robot Flower, specifically. Bottle is still here to lighten the mood!! But the stress of others is starting to get to her. Empathy GO!!!
CloudYAY
I am debating changing the team name 💔 but I don't know what to
CloudYAY includes Barf Bag, Donut, Golf Ball, Pencil, Pillow, Winner, and Yellow Face.
There is a leadership struggle between Golf Ball, and Pencil. Most of the team would rather work as a whole, or have Donut take charge as he actually considers everyone. When Golf Ball or Pencil take the wheel, they can be controlling. While Golf Ball is learning to stop this behavior, Pencil isn't.
Pillow is having her turning point-- she's getting consequences for her murder spree(aka not a lot of trust from her team) and therapy !! Yellow Face is still trying to be goofy team dad but it's getting hard. Winner is there by Yellow Face's side so... It's not all bad.
-
I THINK I SPENT A WEEK ON THIS. AAAHHHHH

Note
Say, how would the BFDI hosts react to seeing fans/fans greeting them? :D
BFDI: Announcer
Announcer will thank the fan and then dismiss them kinda harshly. It means a lot, really! But he has better things to do.
BFDIA: TV
Realistically id. Have to go over a whole bunch of people because theres. SO MANY who worked togehter to host but I'll prioritize TV for this one.
TV would try to stay professional and friendly. He'd be a bit flustered, though! BFDIA/IDFB TV is more passive than what we'll see in the future.
BFB: Four and X
X would be awkward but thankful and polite when being greeted by a fan.
Four.. I am not sure! He's unpredictable. Depends entirely on the mood you catch him in, as he is not afraid to hurt someone if they approach him during a bad time. Walk on eggshells.
TPOT: Two
Two will be nice and friendly and so, so positive. Telling Two that you're a fan of their work will make their day. Even week.

Character proposal: Pencil
CONTENT WARNING: This post includes depiction and discussion of abuse. It is from the perspective of an abuser. Please keep that in mind!!
IVE BEEN WANTING TO DO THOS ONE SINCE I STARTED THE BLOG !! Canon!Pencil has captured the hearts of many. Me included. Redux Pencil? We'll see!
I want to play so hard into Pencil just. Not being a good person. She can get better. Maybe. But not without ruining her relationships with everyone 😋
Loyal to her cause, a prideful leader, cliquey, assertive, and in desperate need to stay in control. You join a group with her, it will belong to her.
Professional bridge burner. She keeps finding ways to hurt the people around her.
Pencil joins BFDI with a plan-- having people on her side will further her standing in the game. If the voters see how loved she is, she'll get further too. It's flawless.
She and Match hit it off on the drive to BFDI's main playing field. Match seems to share a lot of her qualities and values, so it's worth pursuing.
Bubble is the one to suggest an alliance at the balance beam. Pencil takes charge immediately and Match full on supports her.
Ice Cube tries to join, pops Bubble on accident, and isn't let in until the middle of BFDI. Pencil finds her to be clever but a bit argumentative-- but Ice Cube wanting to not be excluded keeps her in check.
Pencil is right about her theory, too. She doesn't get out until episode 19 of BFDI.
Pencil is in support of chasing off Leafy when she buys Dream Island. Her alliance backs her up on this.
Pencil is SOOO down to join when she's invited back for BFDIA.
Here, Match and Ice Cube also rejoin and Bubble is a happy spectator.
Two new contestants join the alliance-- now called FreeSmart.
Book, a passive and loyal teammate. She does as she's told without a problem, Pencil makes sure of it. Sometimes she looks at Pencil with eyes Pencil cannot read, perhaps it has something to do with how close she is with Ice Cube.
Ruby is the second-- a high energy aspiring actress and endless optimist. Pencil appreciates her dedication but sometimes her energy is too much. She acts out of line and Pencil loses her cool.
But hey, she has to keep the team in check.
Even if it hurts their feelings, it's for their own good.
It's how she'll make sure FreeSmart wins BFDIA.
But Needle.
GOD, Needle.
Needle is a late addition to FreeSmart. Like the rest of the team, she craves validation. Validation that Pencil initially wants to offer-- but Needle ruins that.
She's independent. She argued more than even Ice Cube. She's between Pin and Coiny and working with FreeSmart. So, in order to deem her a true alliance member, Pencil demands Needle makes a sacrifice.
Needle says she did. Pencil never saw it, so... No. No, Needle didn't. Needle says Book saw her do it. Pencil glances at Book at Book clams up.
Pencil's been wanting a reason to drive Needle out. Now she has one.
Now, about others.
Pencil makes decisions for her teammates. They won a prize? Pencil puts it to good use. Remove Pin's limbs. Remove Pin's face. Pencil comes up with strategies. She's the leader. It's her job and she won't let anyone else take it.
Her alliance is useful. If they continue to be, she praises them. If they don't, she has to point out their errors.
IDFB.
The games are over, Pencil thinks she can relax. The cast is chilling in Yoyle City.
Match is back. She was eliminated pretty early in BFDIA.
Pencil finds Match clingy. She's closest to Match, yes. Match is the most devoted, yes. Match also acts similar to Pencil and Pencil is tired of it.
Ruby's been keeping a video journal-- or so Pencil thought. Ruby left the cap over the camera's lense. WOOOOW.
FreeSmart does. FreeSmart things. They're more of a REALLY UNHEALTHY friend group during IDFB.
One that's about to crumble. Sure, they have their good moments-- joking, exploring, hanging out.
Pencil's juuust a bit more irritable now.
When Pencil's control slips, so does her mask.
Ice Cube's been braver.
On a particularly bad day, Pencil scolds Ice Cube. Ice Cube SNAPS. [Near the end of IDFB!]
Book inches after Ice Cube, trying not to draw Pencil's attention--
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Uh.. with Ice Cube..?"
"You can't be serious."
Book stammers something and starts walking again. Pencil goes up to her and gives her a light shove. "No."
"Whuh, bh-"
Pointing an accusatory finger and blocking Book's view of Ice Cube, Pencil interrupts with a bite to her words, "Would you rather go with the one who just abandoned us or stay with a team that values you?"
"I-"
"Don't. You're just like Needle. After everything I've done for you-- I introduced you to your friends and got you to the final four of BFDIA-- you're making the choice to hurt us. FreeSmart wouldn't be the same without you and you know it."
Book doesn't answer.
It's not like Pencil would give her the chance to anyways. "How could you? I care about you, we care about you. How do you think, I don't know, Bubble would feel? Ruby? You know Ruby is sensitive."
"I'm sorry." Book's response is so quiet that Pencil needs a second to process it.
"I bet you are. Go join her, see how well we'll do without you, abandoning us like this..." Pencil gives a shooing gesture with her hands.
Book trudges away looking guilt-ridden.
Pencil takes the opportunity to rub it in Book's face for the rest of IDFB.
Pencil makes sure what's left of FreeSmart gets their shit together for BFB.
Iance is formed by what's left of FreeSmart, Snowball, Fanny, Flower, and Lightning.
Snowball butts heads for the fun of it but he's strong. That's useful.
Lightning electrocutes anyone Pencil asks to be. Like the OGs, he wants approval. Good.
Fanny...? All Pencil gets to see of Fanny is her contradictory behavior. "I hate (this)! I hate (that)!" SHUT. UP.
Flower-- Pencil's not the biggest fan. In BFDI, Flower was a jerk to everyone but her bullying is demotivating and she's strong. Except when Pencil gets to interact with Flower she realizes Flower has mellowed out some. Still spicy but not a total ass.
They didn't.. really interact in IDFB. She must've gone through something then or during BFDIA.
Pencil gets out like. INSTANTLY.
Four traps her in his dimension. She's alone for about a week with nothing but algebra. The doors are locked, there's nothing to do, and she's ALONE. ALONE.
ALL ALONE.
For a WEEK.
She's ecstatic to see another person.
This goes on for a while. The same cycle-- until the EXITors try escaping Four. Spongy and Loser make it, everyone else is stuck.
Nobody does ever come back for them.
For years, they're trapped in eternal algebra. For over half a decade.
Liy figured out how to escape the room. They get to explore some but have to be careful. Four checks on them every once and a while and if he knew they weren't working, he'd chase them down.
It's TORTURE.
Match is there but... Yeah, Pencil still finds her kind of clingy. After coming to the EXIT, Pencil noticed Match has been acting less like a clone and more like her own person.
Pencil can't bring herself to ask about FreeSmart. Not at all.
We get TPOT 11. The EXITors escape. Pencil's leadership skills really shine through here.
They escape. Two takes them and locks them in a dining space where they can serve contestants and debuers.
Pencil won't be trapped again. Fuck no. No, never again. She can't.
Dora breaks the window and the EXITors all make a break for it. They then DEMAND to be able to join TPOT. For many, getting back in the spotlight is great!
For Pencil? She loves the game and winning limitless power is so tempting.
She just doesn't want to go back.
i want some sort of breakup between Pencil and Match here. Not super dramatic,, just something like--
Match asks Pencil why she's been avoiding her because it feels that way. Pencil dismisses her. Match starts to realize maybe Pencil never felt the same way-- but before she can say anything Four zops her across the sky during the storm.
Liy and Pencil both get in.
This is Pencil's first time without her alliance, or so she thinks. Book and Ice Cube are here.
She pulls them aside and gushes. Price Tag intervenes, calls her a newbie, and Pencil just stares. WOOOOW.
Post-EXIT Pencil changes a lot. Six years of being trapped did this to her. She's quick to irritate and aggressive. She doesn't care for her new team, using the same logic as always-- Donut and Golf Ball? So useful, even if she doesn't like them. Winner, Yellowface, and Pillow? No. Just. No.
She tries to brush things off. She tries and kinda fails to be uncaring but she's LONELY. She's ontrying to get control over her life again. She's scared to be left behind. She's unstable emotionally. She's a disaster!! Nobody needs to see her like this. (Blind to your own actions. Go girl!!)
This back and forth goes on until TPOT 15. Pencil's been doing worse mentally and it's showing.
She has her infamous scene in TPOT 15 where she goes back in time and tries to change everything. It doesn't go as planned, they're brought back by something.
Fuckkkkk.
Pen gets Pencil's new team to lose TPOT 16.
Pencil tries again with Book after Ice Cube is eliminated.
The Book she knew? Gone.
This Book ain't afraid to stand her ground. She's a bit nervous, sure, but confident.
Pencil gets the most votes in TPOT 17. She has a panic attack and Donut is there to comfort her despite everything.
Book and Pencil have a confrontation on the Fourse in TPOT 17. It goes about the same!! Book tears Pencil a new one, Pencil is shell shocked but hides it, taking the victory for her team.
Pencil hops off the fourse. She seems like she's about to berate Book but, tired and out of energy...
Fine.
FINE.
She doesn't need FreeSmart. It means nothing to her. All of it-- it means nothing to her. She tries to convince herself of it. It's for the better.
She retreats to her Clubhouse of Awesomeness. In TPOT it is VERY MAKESHIFT instead of what they did in canon. Sorry not sorry, I want to to reflect her mental state :D
Pen follows her in there and gives her the same/a similar talk as he does in TPOT 17. Note that while he could express his anger about Pencil getting Eraser eliminated, he doesn't.
She doesn't answer him but... Hm.
She has tje option to get better or worse from here. We'll see what they do in canon!
I HAD SO MUCH FUN WRITING REDUX PENCIL AUADUUFHDHSISIDUFUUDHSU she sucks so much. Love redux Pencil

Note
if you're comfortable with it, may i ask how old the contestants in the redux are?
it's a good idea to get into the timeline!! I need to map that out!
BFDI starts out in January 1st, 2010, contestants joining are usually between 18 and 25 years old.
The shortest gap between contested seasons is BFDI and BFDIA. BFDIA will start in mid-late 2011. BFDIA will last until ,, early 2013 maybe.
IDFB goes on from 2013 to 2015. BFB starts in early-mid 2015.
We know Pencil, first eliminated in BFB, is stuck in the EXIT for 6 years. This would mean TPOT 12 takes place in about 2021. SO! I will be making some changes there.
Two comes down during the middle of BFB-- possibly late 2015 or early 2016. This results in the show's length being shortened. With a gap between pre and post-split as the hosts figure out what to do from here on out, we're looking at 2017 being when BFB ends.
Two gets TPOT on its knees in 2016 and doesn't host beyond the first episode until BFB ends. So, like.. the contestants are waiting several years unless I shorten the time between that. Which I think is what I'll do.
TPOT episodes have the largest gaps of time between them because Two is always off doing things! Atwosment park, exploring, chilling, projects.! And Two's eventual bedrotting.
I need two years between BFB 30 and TPOT 18. I need a decent amount of time between BFB 1 and TPOT 12.
2010: BFDI
2011-2013: BFDIA
2013-2015: IDFB
2015-2017: (in order) BFB start, TPOT split, BFB end
2017: TPOT start
Early 2019: TPOT 12
Mid 2019: TPOT 13 - TPOT 15
2020+: TPOT ongoing

For redux Pillow, I think she should be the exact same as in canon...
Ok not completely lol, something I really think the show missed was a proper transition between BFB Pillow and TPOT Pillow. BFB Pillow was always kinda ok with violence, but TPOT takes her character in a new direction without really exploring why.
I think just a proper scene exploring her thought process with luck and research would be nice. Shows how she didn’t think her team did all that well in BFB, and she wants to try a new strategy.
Also she’s totally neurodivergent in a low-empathy way
The current plans for Pillow
Neurodivergent Pillow makes so much sense. I was considering it when drafting her character proposal-- now it's official :D I'll be searching for a specific neurodivergency to throw her way. Welcome to the club Pillow!!
In the Redux, Pillow is endlessly curious. Part of what leans her into violence in BFB & TPOT is a seek of chaos. Pillow approached Death PACT because she misinterpreted them and now she's stuck with them. They noticed this and were quick to ensure her damage was minimal.
How frustrating! Seriously! Revival is completely possible-- what's it matter to Death PACT? Pillow, endlessly set on her ways, won't let Death PACT stop her forevdf-- but maybe she doesn't have to:
When Two arrives and takes most of the contestants, Pillow is happy to follow along. She doesn't care much for Four anyways, so she's able to completely ignore the look of horror on their face as 76% of their contestants leave.
Two offers a grand power that she is so interested in-- who knows what can be done with that? It's certainly better than a physical copy of BFDI. Pillow also takes the opportunity to switch teams when it's presented to her-- now Death PACT Again will have a harder time stopping her and she can do whatever she wants. That's more like it!
All of this is subject to change! I'm still drafting season 1's rework and Pillow won't make a proper appearance until at least season 3 so there's plenty of time to figure her out and make her consistent.

Character proposal: Redux!Loser
So!
Like most characters in BFDI, I like Loser. He's a guy who exists. My biggest goals with him are to expand upon his canon character and fit him into the plot.
Redux!Loser's story & character outline:
He's a celebrity famous for his Loser-Cake act, originally played with Winner in front of a small audience live in Goiky some time before BFDI.
Loser and Winner tour for a while. After a movie deal, Winner and Loser part ways, as Loser desires more and Winner is reserved.
While he won't be participating BFDI, BFDIA, or IDFB, he will make a propper debut BFB. To be honest, I don't know how he got there, but that will be figured out in due time.
Loser is a nice person, there's no doubt. He's prideful and courteous. He's famous!!!! And The Losers! love him for that. Hell, most contestants BFB love him for that.
But, my problem with Canon!Loser is the fact that he greatly overshadows his teammates. He's the main focus, which absolutely feeds into his love of fame, but it doesn't let the rest of his team shine until after he's eliminated.
Like a lot of fans do with famous people, they idolize him. They hold him to high standards and, as they spend more time with him, The Losers! come to humanize him instead. He has a small lie-- but it's not going to cause a wide controversy like it does in canon.
The biggest controvery he gets is reading Donut's diary in the EXIT but it's really not enough to cancel him.
He does fall off some time between the late BFB and TPOT 17-- the status quo changes and he just can't catch up-- but he's trying.
Loser is self-conscious-- he's baffled by the idea of being doubted or disliked.
He loves attention and does value his fame over his relations-- but that changes in BFB as he grows closer to his team. He thinks back often to the way he left Winner and genuinely feels bad. He'll still enjoy getting attention but he won't put it over his relationships.
He's well-meaning too. He cares about doing the right thing. But he's flawed!
Loser-Os were less of an attempt to get back into the mainstream and more of an attempt to acknowledge his past friendship with Winner. He hasn't forgotten and he never will.
He's got that funky voice I adore it. He's keeping that. If anybody has any ideas for why it's that way, I'd love to hear it!
I projected onto loser ONCE in 2024 so. He's absolutely an aroflux trans man.
This is a very rough draft! As usual, input will be met with open arms.

ok, uh, well, book's arc in bfb needs a LOT of fixing up imo. the idea of her getting abandonment issues because of freesmart and getting attached to taco dissapearing is interesting and definetly makes sense but it wasn't handled very well in canon,,,,,
I wholeheartedly agree!
It felt kind of? What's the right word for this,? Petty? Jarring? Seeing Book react the way she did-- and for how long she held on to that grudge for.
I think I'd push back her split-off from Pencil's alliance to IDFB and give her and Taco time to get closer, as well as have her chill on the bullying-- it felt so out of character for her.
Perhaps Taco gets forgotten about and left in the jawbreaker during Redux!BFB 2 & 3. Instead of being put on the swing during the challenge in episode 2, the jawbreaker is with other unopened ones(albeit empty)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Book realizes Taco isn't there to help, we rehash the scene where she thinks Taco's abandoned them all. Some shenanigans happen near the end of the episode that get Taco's jawbreaker closer to the swing that her team(Bleh?) is on.
I want a scene in the following episodes where Book does say something harmful-- something that sours things between her and Taco more. She won't relentlessly harass Taco, but she will have that flare of anger.
A few episodes down the line, she and Taco may have a heart to heart. They may not be friends anymore, but they can be on better terms. This'll make way for her story in TPOT!
With the rewrite in it's early early phase, this is all subject to change :]

you should do a proper character proposal for book!! she's my favorite character <3
hi, same anon as the one who requested book!!! i was thinking about a way to do a little rewrite of the team bleh arc in bfb:
-book's the first one to spot taco being out of the jawbreaker. the other members of team bleh don't notice at all at first. -her face sours. she doesn't accept taco trying to explain her absence after she herself has been abandoned for no good reason. -afterwards, she vents to her teammates about taco. her wording paints taco as a bad person putting the team against her.
basically, team bleh doesn't immediately go straight to shittalking taco in her face once they first see her, but instead hears abt her from book, who is, at the time of late idfb-bfb, like a mentally unstable unreliable narrator. and then they distance themselves from taco. also book doesn't straight up harrass taco bc i personally think that's a bit ooc
taco doesn't know why she's being ignored by everyone ....until she hears book venting to icy. events happen, taco's hurt, then we get to that heart-to-heart scene you mentioned in an earlier post!
hopefully i did this right im not a writer ^^;
ANON.
ANON, YOU GENIUS!! I LOVE THAT.
I LOVE BOOK!!
SO!!! DRRRUMMMROOLLLLL!!!!
Cw; verbal, emotional, and mental abuse.
Redux!Book is the epitome of hurt people hurt people.
Going into BFDIA, Book is cooperative, friendly, passive, gullible, and insecure. She just wants friends man!
Book applies for BFDIA with support of friends and family.
Book approaches Pencil to be in an alliance because she watched BFDI and she saw Pencil with a strong team! They lasted so long!! Pencil seems glad to have Book on.
Pencil has strong leadership skills and her right hand, Match, is a great manager. Bubble, a season spectator, seems less than content to have Book and a second newbie on the team.
This second newbie is Ruby!! Book can tell Bubble's hesitation makes Ruby upset. Book doesn't have much of an opinion on it.
Ice Cube!! Book naturally gravitated towards her when they first met, even if Ice Cube's expression was off-putting. She's often quiet so Book finds it easy to hang around her. She's also strong-willed and supportive!!
While Pencil is in the game, she puts herself in control and isn't afraid to set boundaries. Apparently that includes snapping at Ruby. (And Book if Book tries to echo Ruby's hype)
Book is genuinely disturbed when Pencil uses prizes from her alliance members to disable Pin and remove her autonomy. Ice Cube tries speaking to Pencil about this and Pencil shoots her down HARD.
Pin is a threat. Pin is an opponent. If she can't win challenges, she'll surely get out and FreeSmart has a higher chance of winning. This isn't personal. This isn't personal. Book keeps telling herself that Pencil doing this is NOT personal.
Pencil also keeps Book distanced from others. Pencil expects total dedication from everyone to FreeSmart. This includes hanging out between challenges, supporting those in the game even if you're eliminated, and GETTING THE JOB DONE.
This social isolation is why Book develops DPD. She NEEDS direction and to be controlled by others or else she won't know what to do.
But Pencil has to be justified. She just HAS to! Nobody says anything about it and Ruby and Match hardcore enable Pencil.
Pencil lights a fuse whenever Book fails at challenges. Book isn't.. exactly the best at them. But she tries!! She does!! And the audience loves this!
Book doesn't always like what FreeSmart does-- but they have to. She can't bring herself to speak up-- she sees what happens when Ice Cube tries. So, Book can only look at Pencil and wish her thoughts and feelings would magically project to her.
When everyone in FreeSmart BUT Book is eliminated, Book searches for anything that will bring that dynamic back. She tries Tennis Ball, Fries, Needle...
Even PIN! Who brutally killed her. Just to announce the alliance as over after she got safety and kill Book again. She and Book will eventually talk about this
If Book wins BFDIA Pencil will definitely hold that over her head. She'd say that someone who struggles as much as Book did should be thankful for those who boosted her. Well Pencil will probably hold how far Book got over her head either way,,, fun.
IDFB
Same old, same old. FreeSmart is more of a dysfunctional friend group now than ever before.
IDFB Book will get more focus towards the middle-end of the season. She spends almost all of her time with FreeSmart until then.
Same behavior from Pencil. Match is like her but softened. Ruby is an apologist. Bubble is there and has long since warmed up to Book.
Book still sticks by Ice Cube.
One day, Pencil is in a bad mood. It feels like whatever they do, Pencil finds a reason to snap at them.
And Ice Cube snaps.
The confrontation between them is harsh. Ice Cube calls Pencil's behavior out, then Match for enabling it, and stomps off, saying she's DONE with this friend group.
...leaving has been an option? It's that easy? Has it always been that easy? This whole time, the way out was just to walk away? Book can do that too, yeah?
Book goes to follow Ice Cube. Pencil shoves stops her.
Quoting directly from an older post here-- ...Book needs them. She's loyal to them-- that's her alliance. They got her to the final 5 of BFDIA. She owes them to be loyal. She owes Pencil to be loyal and if she can't be loyal, what use is she to FreeSmart? If she can't be loyal, she's abandoning her team and she's no better than...
And Pencil reinforces this mindset. She GOES OFF. She berates Book for even thinking of leaving. She tells Book that Book is abandoning everyone if she goes. You can find the direct quotes here.
Pencil then tells Book to leave.
It's no victory. Book follows Ice Cube in tears, feeling so guilty and horrible.
For the rest of IDFB, Book's mental health is shit. She breaks down multiple times. She's self-loathing.
Ice Cube defends Book when Pencil is there to bully her. And when Ice Cube isn't there, Book has to sit through ridicule. She barely fights back.
Ice Cube is there for Book. Book is there for Ice Cube. With Ice Cube's influence, Book starts to become braver.
Book decides she has to return the favor the best she can. She becomes more assertive, less quiet, and open.
BFB
Book's bravery skyrockets in BFB.
When Taco disappears for a challenge or two and then reappears out of nowhere, Book is the first to see her. Book feels bile in her throat. Taco tries to explain herself and Book refuses to listen.
She does indeed vent to her teammates, painting Taco in a bad light. The team distances themself-- except for Lollipop, who does go to Taco.
Taco decides to try to talk to Book. She finds Book venting to Ice Cube and Ice Cube being very quiet.
We eventually get Taco confronting Book. Bad at communicating #1(Book) and Bad at communicating #2(Taco) do not have a fun time.
Book does not relentlessly bully Taco, no. She instead lets her feelings accumulate until she can't keep them in and finally lets it all out. HURTFUL THINGS ARE SAID!!
"You abandoned us when we needed you! An alliance is supposed to work together! We all have a job we're supposed to do!! You're- you're useless if you can't pull your own weight. We valued you and you LEFT US! We-- you- you're useless if you can't be there. By- by abandoning us, you... You hurt this team. You suck, Taco. You... Suck.."
Yeah Book is definitely in tears by the end of that! And walking away. It's a rage-induced and impulsive state-- it's also Book pushing all of her own self-loathing onto Taco. Yah.
Book and Taco are no longer on speaking terms.
Near the end of BFB pre-split, Book's controlling behavior towards Ice Cube grows worse as she searches for anything to stabilize and distract herself. Ice Cube HATES it.
Ice Cube also won't sit there and tolerate it.
She confronts Book. The two start arguing and, in the heat of the moment, Ice Cube compares Book to Pencil. Whatever Book was going to say, she stops.
A nerve is struck.
Ice Cube tells Book how she feels-- how Book's behavior hurts herself and her team, how she's acting like someone Ice Cube knows she's not, and how Ice Cube is done with it.
Ice Cube stomps off. Book is speechless and sits in silence for a long time before completely breaking down.
It took losing her best friend but Book is finally able to acknowledge how her actions have hurt others-- and how Pencil hurt her.
She vows to make an effort to be better.
Whether or not she talks to Taco by the time Two comes down,, I've been thinking about it but maybe yes!! This is how Taco also gets better at communicating.
With that being said, they won't become friends. But they will be on neutral terms.
When Two pulls up, Book really wants to switch shows. As she's going to switch, she spots a shy Cake looking lost and uncertain. Book goes up to him and offers a listening ear.
TPOT
Book is happier than she's ever been. She's on a fresh new team with fresh new faces and they get along GREAT!! Most everyone on the team is supportive and friendly. Hi Just Not.
Book is the closest with Price Tag and Cake. Book lets Cake vent to her and enjoys his Goiky's Dragon campaign. He's a strong DM!
After Cake is eliminated, Book finds herself a best friend in Price Tag. Best. Friends!!!
When the team swap happens, Book is shocked to find herself on the same team as Ice Cube-- Team 2.
Book tries talking to Ice Cube. Ice Cube isn't interested. Okay!! Book'll just chill with Price Tag then. Price Tag asks about Ice Cube and Book's history and Book gives them the rundown.
Book is stunned when Pencil joins TPOT and takes Book and Ice Cube aside for a cross-team alliance.
It's Price Tag who comes in and pulls them apart. Book expects Pencil to have some strong words for Price Tag but she stares instead.
Book tries talking to Ice Cube about this too. It seems Icy is starting to open up to her again!!
Pencil tries with Book and Icy off and on-- until TPOT 15 when her own actions causes the world to almost end. Ice Cube, Book, and Price Tag all huddle together.
And the next episode, Ice Cube is eliminated. Not before confirming her friendship with Book is back. This is a good step.
Price Tag and Yellow Face are becoming close friends. Book talks to Winner about this and they're starting to become friends too.
As for Pencil? She pulls Book into a very makeshift version of TCOA and tries asking her to team again.
Book tells Pencil to shove off and walks away. She is genuinely scared of Pencil. 😁
THE FOURSE SCENE. PENCIL TRIES AGAIN. HEre's the redux version of their talk!! It's very similar :P
"I am not going to risk going up again!"
"There it is again, Pencil." Book deadpans.
"What?? What is that supposed to mean!?"
"You're still selfish! I thought that, by some miracle, maybe you'd have changed or gotten better, but you're worse than before! It's always 'me, me, me!' with you!"
"Then let me be a WE and JOIN MY ALLIANCE ALREADY!" Pencil takes Book by the arms and they both grapple to stay balanced on the fourse.
"No! I will never be on an alliance with you ever again!" Book grits her teeth.
"Why!? Why not!?"
"Because-" Book yelps as Pencil pushes her hand into Book's face "-because I HATE YOU!!"
"You hate me?"
"YES! You're controlling and selfish and obsessive and MEAN! You never let my achievements be my achievements. You made me scared of you!! Scared to go against you!! You bullied me for MONTHS and you NEVER LISTEN! I gave Ice Cube the space she needed! Why can't you give me the space I need!?"
"Because you're all I have here!! Book, Match is who knows where, Ice Cube is eliminated, and Bubble and Ruby are missing! I just want things to go back to the way they were. I was trapped in the EXIT- in Four- for years! YEARS! And this is how I'm welcomed back!?"
"You nearly destroyed the universe for your own selfish needs! You didn't come back asking to be friends or with an apology-- you wanted an alliance! To get you further in the game! That's all you want! That's all you've EVER wanted! And I will NEVER be used like that again!"
"Then what use are you?" Pencil throws Book off.
Book is left shaking. Yea,, she's scared of Pencil but that felt GOOD. She got her feelings out and now Pencil will finally leave her alone.
That's it! Thats the end!!!

because of recent events.... grassy character proposal?
Tumblr media
Concept art to go with it! The Grassy we see in the show versus adult Grassy.
GUUUUHHHHJ 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Gonna be real. Redux Grassy IS a child. He is five when he's introduced.
Honest, crafty, sensitive, and joyous with a strong self-esteem that only grows with encouragement from the adults around him. Good kid.
He thrives off of his relationships.
How did a five year old get into BFB?
Unsupervised, Grassy was let onto his parent's laptop and decided to apply.
Four did not do background checks. Four did not watch or read through any applications. They raffled all the applicants at random.
A Better Name Than That does the best they can with Grassy: keeping him AWAY from Four at ALL COSTS.
Grassy ends up sitting through a lot of violence. We are talking murder. And recovery. It scares the shit out of him at first-- he doesn't really understand why Four is like thst.
BFB Grassy's whole deal is "Dear god that is a child. Why is he here onhgjdhdjdjfhdjd"
As BFB progresses, Grassy grows used to it? I don't think desensitized is the right word. He's not processing it all.
Basketball does her damn hardest to school Grassy until she gets distracted with other things. Four won't let Grassy off the show unless he's eliminated and he. He won't be eliminated.
Basketball gets Grassy to move to TPOT, hoping things would be better there.
AND THINGS WERE!! kinda.
Joining The Best was a good idea! However, Basketball dwelves more into her robotics career, leaving Grassy to feel neglected.
Not for long! Snowball picks him up and. Now Grassy has a dad. A new caretaker yay
Snowball is not a perfect man. He's working to be better and encourages Grassy to be strong.
So, Grassy will be!! For Snowball, for Basketball, for his whole team.
The team swap happens and Grassy goes with Snowball.
This kid does not know hate. Not uet. He is kind to everyone, even if they're a jerk to him.
That is part of what makes TV feel like SHIT when he kills Grassy in the haunted house. Grassy did not want to leave TV behind but Tree did.
Redux!TPOT 19... i don't want to officialize anything until TPOT 20 comes out, so I know where they're taking the story and can determine what I need to do with mine. I keep elimination order so I have to work with that.
Grassy takes to anyone who seems like a strong leader. Pencil works-- until she THROWS HIM INTO THE GROUND. Of course he starts crying. Snowball just got eliminated. He's got nobody. Pencil just hurt him.
ALSO RHE CHALLENGE IS TO KILL EVERYONE. It's better that Grassy was put somewhere where he didn't have to witness a bloodbath.
I think if he gets eliminated, the cast'll convince Two to bring Grassy back to his parents instead of wherever eliminated contestants go.
Grassy will not participate in a sixth season (if there is one):
BFB/TPOT leaves Grassy with lasting trauma. That show has a lot of violence and murder. Grassy is a CHILD, he is not made for that. He doesn't deserve to see that. He deserves to go live his life. To go be a kid while he still can.
I intend to give him a good ending,. I hope he isn't erased from reality

It's her! Vaguely based on a flowering dogwood leaf. She desaturated after BFB and going into TPOT because of spending so much time by Firey. Left her scorched

hello. agender leafy (she/he/any)? I'm really interested in how objects represent their gender since they arent that humanoid. and a huge headcanon of mine is genderless leafy
for a while (probably most of season 1) she thought she was a trans boy (she didn't tell anyone) but realized she didn't really want to be or look like a boy, she just wanted to be seen as a person before her gender, girl or boy didn't completely seem to describe her. she was just. someone. a person. a guy
"maybe I'm gender neutral?" but that didn't seem to be it either
she never understood gender. maybe because she never experienced it.
i don't think she spent too much time questioning though. she has better stuff to do
probably has been made fun of or scolded for not looking or acting like a girl before. but she never cared about what gender people would perceive her as, she just did whatever made her happy at th moment. never trying too hard to look like anything. also i think she'd represent more masculine if she wore clothes, just because they're more comfortable
pronouns don't mean much to her. she never felt uncomfortable with any
she's baffled by how much people care about gender.. it shouldn't matter.
I'm not sure when she'd realize she's agender (perhaps bfb), but she probably told firey in late bfb and he was cool with it. good for them

I'd be so happy if redux leafy was agender just look at her. not a speck of gender behind those eyes.thanks for coming to my agender leafy ted talk. ps I'm definitely not projecting
I love exploring gender. Or no gender. Hell yea agender Leafy time!! She has problems but she doesn't have gender. No leaning towards masculinity or femininity or neitrality, minimal care for pronouns(she/her preference but go ham!- you'll rarely get corrected by Leafy)
I like that. I like agender Leafy. This is a solid take. I am going to run with it!
IT IS HIGH TIME FOR HER CHARACTER PROPOSAL!! Long post incoming 😋
Kind, impulsive, and friendly with an ego. She craves good relationships.
Leafy has great survival skills for any given situation, nature OR social(this is going to come in handy!) She attended a scout group when she was little. Nature walks were her favorite. Her scout group had summer camps that taught survival and her guardians were big on teaching her too!!
LOVES learning about relics and artifacts.
She applies for BFDI with the goal of using Dream Island for a nature reserve or her own little home with a garden. I don't know which.
She and Pin form a temporary alliance to survive the balance beam challenge. It works and they both make their own teams.
that Goiky Map she used to teleport.. It's gotta be some sort of mythical object-- something unexplained in this world like Evil Leafy, perhaps an artifact of ole.
Ice Cube's complex ideals of revenge intrigue Leafy. When she's wronged, Ice Cube gets people back. Maybe Leafy can learn a thing or two from her.
She befriends Firey early in season 1 and the two stay close until the last few episodes... Where Leafy does SOMETHING that turns Firey on her. I don't want it to be the ferris wheel sorry chat.
Perhaps an argument a couple of episodes before the finale. I do want Firey to come across as petty. Maybe Leafy says something that hurts his feelings during that argument and, instead of talking to her about it, he denies her a spot on Dream Island.
At the bridge, he calls HER a mean person. He tells her she doesn't deserve to be on Dream Island moments after letting Coiny and Flower in. Where's the logic!?
Well, if he's going to be this way, so is she.
Leafy calls Announcer and purchases Dream Island. That'll show him!!
She hides out on the boat, fingers crossed that everything'll turn up fine -- she spots Announcer. He has his front faced to her... He's saying something she can't hear.
A SWARM OF PEOPLE APPROACH. DEAR GOD.
Leafy gets confronted for stealing. A lot of the same thing gets repeated-- insults, shame, calling her a thief and a horrible person. She can't even defend or explain herself. It is THAT bad.
Snowball gets physical and shoves her against the boat's railing so Leafy fights back, hitting him and thrusting him aside. This gets the crowd riled up more-- they're now going at her for assaulting Snowball. HELLO???
She uses a map of Goiky to teleport away. It's ripped up as she escapes, now miles away from civilization and alone in the Yoyleland wilderness.
She takes a moment to breathe.
And think.
What has she done!?
Maybe they were right-- maybe they were all right. Leafy is a mean person. She hurt everyone. Maybe it's better that she's on her own. She doesn't want to hurt people. She thinks back to Ice Cube again, then Firey.
She's a horrible person. She should stay out here. It'd be better for everyone if she was gone for good. Like she never existed. She lost everything and it's her own fault.
And the longer she's alone, the deeper she falls into that mindset.
There's a break between seasons 1 and 2. Long enough for being alone to have effects-- she develops anxiety and depression that strengthens in early season 2.
One day, some people fly in near her little setup and come in search of Yoyleberries. Leafy has been using Yoyleberries as a food source and knows exactly where to find some. It's Gelatin, Puffball, and Needle.
Leafy doesn't attack them. She tries to hide and observe them at the same time and does a bad job at it. Metal is easy to see against purple and green!!
it's either Needle or Gelatin who spot her. Either way, she's pointed out and Needle's the one to approach her. Needle asks Leafy if this is where she's been the whole time and Leafy stammers, failing to find words.
Needle says she's worried. Leafy tells her to go away. Gelatin interrupts, asking Leafy if she's seen any big yoylebush patches. Leafy asks if they'll leave her alone if she helps. Gelatin promises!
After leading them to a patch of bushes, she walks off. Gelatin follows, telling her that they've collected all the berries they need and offering her a ride on Puffball back to the BFDIA playing field.
Leafy says no. Gelatin insists as Puffball floats right next to him, looking curious. Leafy keeps turning Gelatin down as Needle comes back to fetch her teammates... Just in time to see Leafy pushing Gelatin.
Needle intervenes, standing between Leafy and Gelatin. "What has gotten into you!?"
"Nothing," Leafy urges. "I just- I want to be alone, why can't you get that?"
"I was just.." Gelatin frowns, voice trailing off.
"Did you have to hurt him to prove your point?" Needle questions.
A scoff and chime from Puffball, "Yeah, we were trying to help you."
"Like you helped us," Gelatin adds.
"If you-" Leafy takes a deep breath. "If you wanted to help me, you'd go away! Leave me alone! Why can't you get that!?"
"Fine, decline our help." Needle then turns away, helping Gelatin onto Puffball before climbing on herself. "Let's go, guys."
Leafy notices the look of pity and distrust on Needle's face as Puffball flies away. She moves locations after that, deeper into Yoyleland.
The days are blurred. Leafy is falling down a hole and she may not be able to climb back out. Her mental health is steaming shit. She has conflicted feelings. She's self-destructive and full of so much anger with herself that it MANIFESTS.
Say hi to Evil Leafy. Leafy's negative thoughts wielded by a strange force that takes on a physical form and its own life. She sees Evil Leafy out of the corner of her eye one day and before she can react, Evil Leafy disappears. What was that!?
Honestly she may be convinced she's hallucinating. She doesn't see EL again for a long time! So! Yah!!
Leafy has been regretting chasing the BFDIA 1 party away. She's so lonely. She has to keep being alone, she's still punishing herself and it's only fair.
Desperation is strong.
When BFDIA moves to Yoyleland, Leafy is compelled to watch from a distance. This is what gets her in the throes of a serious competition that kills her.
She wouldn't expect to be recovered but...
She is.
As she slips out of the HPRC, Leafy sees a fading light. She hesitates and follows but as she turns the corner of the HPRC, nobody is there.
But somebody remembered her. Somebody cared to bring her back. Somebody cares about her.
Really, it could be anything-- pity, a genuine friend looking out for her, someone doing something nice Just Because--- but Leafy doesn't care.
This gives her HOPE.
The flashback of the talk with Ice Cube we saw in BFDIA 20? Let's visit it. Leafy somehow finds Ice Cube(or the other way around) and is ecstatic to see someone again. By now, it's been a hot minute since the BFDIA 1 party dropped by and a bit since she's been recovered.
Talking to someone is nice but.. Ice Cube is quiet(no shock there) and only talks when Leafy pesters her enough to. Leafy wants to hang out with Icy. She has so much energy that she just. HAS to talk and talk and talk-- because Ice Cube is her friend !
"We are not friends."
Leafy stops in her steps. Icy talks about the way Leafy went about handling Firey's rejection of her. Leafy is quick to defend herself, saying she thought Icy would be proud. Icy says NO. There is a FRAGILE LINE on the RIGHT THING and Leafy just. Shattered that line.
Leafy shuffles in place. Icy continues, telling Leafy that she doesn't just blame her-- some of the responsibility goes onto Announcer for letting Leafy purchase Dream Island.
But it doesn't erase what Leafy did. It doesn't erase what Firey did. Leafy handled things poorly and Icy does not want to be friends. Hell, with the way Leafy's behaving, she may not have any at all.
Leafy argues that SHE DOES! And she'll prove it! Ice Cube rolls her eyes and walks off, leaving Leafy in her dust.
Her involvement in BFDIA becomes more. She first tries talking to Gelatin. Gelatin is chill, much to Leafy's surprise. He's still grateful for her help in BFDIA 1, despite the outcome. Leafy asks if they're friends because of that and Gelatin says sure. I plan on letting them have that small friendship into IDFB. This will be important.
CODE CRACKED.
She tried Firey once or twice. He asked her who she was. Okay. Wow.
The more involvement? It takes Leafy a while to find the competition since they moved out of Yoyleland.
Leafy tries Tennis Ball. Tennis Ball thanks her for trying to help but isn't interested.
Leafy tries with Coiny. Coiny is DOWN for her help and Leafy asks if they're friends now. Coiny agrees. Sure.
Pin. She approaches Pin for that alliance, finding Pin alone and angry. She'd be down to help Pin with. Whatever. And they'd be friends!!
Pin's probably going to do one last big thing in BFDIA that does more harm than good. Leafy will be involved, feel horrible, and watch as Pin starts her redemption.
As discouraged as Leafy feels, this friendship thing works 9 times out of 10!!
IDFB
The focus for IDFB Leafy will be showing her integrating back into the community, as well as delving into her "do things for people = I will get what I want from them" mindset that stems from wanting friends.
She will be mending a lot of relationships and clearing up misunderstandings. All friendships have their ups and downs-- that's also something to keep in mind.
Her friendships with Gelatin?? She sees Firey a little more because those two are decent friends. Firey still acts like he doesn't know her. (I can't wait to get into Redux!Firey. I can't wait)
A lot of characters with issues as improving this season!! Snowball, Blocky, Flower, and Pin. Seeing them all improve keeps pushing Leafy to do the same.
She also befriends Flower during IDFB!! Expand that friend group gal. Do it!!
She does drift away from Gelatin. No big fight or anything, they just naturally grow apart! Leafy has her friends she's with and Gelatin the same.
BFB.
WHOOOOOO BFB!! I GO RABID.
Leafy pushes her team too hard and gets out early in BFB. YIKES BAD MISTAKE, Beep isn't a fan of her after.
...she gets back in shortly after, joining The Losers!.
They're an interesting bunch. Dysfunctional guys.
Clock is dead for a LONG TIME. His teammates forget about him and it hurts him. Sorry dude. This is for your future arc ^w^ Leafy doesn't get to meet him proper until episode 15.
Cake is a shy kid. He spends most of his time sitting in the background doing as told.
Firey is STILL pretending like he doesn't know Leafy. He's also short with everyone.
Eggy and Needle are desperately trying to keep the team from falling apart.
Coiny is acting as moral support to Pin, who's become red again. For them, old drama has risen. Everyone's on edge.
Leafy's awkward. She doesn't want to push anyone but she is being overly nice.
Late BFB pre-split,, when the ground turns to lava. Leafy is stuck on the bathroom roof. Needle is with Ice Cube and Taco on the other side. Curious, Leafy approaches, and gets blocked by Needle, who tells her to mind her own business.
A convenient guest of wind drags Leafy off the roof(that or she slips) and Needle fails to catch her-- but Firey does.
Leafy tells Firey that he can't ignore her now. Firey STILL acts like he doesn't know her and pulls her aside. Once they're alone(behind the bathrooms) where they have a talk. Firey tells Leafy to shut up about him knowing her. Leafy points out his lying. Firey tells Leafy that it's because nobody likes her anymore. Leafy is hurt and confused by this statement.
Maybe it's because Firey used to be her best friend.
But fine-- if he wants to be that way, they'll never talk again. Leafy clambers back onto the roof and crosses her arms. Firey drifts off.
Four announces the challenge!! It's to get back to him.
...Firey comes back for Leafy. Leafy doesn't want to comply with him because they agreed to stop interacting. The two of them start arguing and Needle pushes Leafy into Firey's hands. She could hear them the whole time!
They bicker off and on while they travel to Four. The lava drains and Leafy gets Four to recover Eggy-- just to confirm that they're friends. See, Firey!? Not EVERYONE hates her smh.
Firey tells Eggy that Leafy stole Dream Island. Eggy looks mildly uncomfortable and Firey seems to take this as a victory.
Coiny takes Leafy aside, offering a listening ear. He later invites Leafy to go get their dead teammates revived post-challenge.
When Two comes down, Leafy isn't interested. She doesn't want to quit the game she's dedicated herself to.
Post-split BFB is an area of I want to do a lot of changing in. I don't HATE it-- I find it quite enjoyable-- but I want to do a lot of reworks.
I want to focus on BFB 22 for a second here. For context: Donut's diary has been stolen and the contest is to find out who stole it or
When Leafy takes over for questioning, she calls Firey to the stand. Firey doesn't give Leafy a chance to talk, accusing her of stealing the diary and crafting an elaborate lie to go with it.
Leafy convinces Four to let her and Firey talk outside the courthouse. This has been stewing in the back of my mind for weeks, HERE WE GO!!!
"What was that about?" Leafy taps a foot.
"What?"
"Your story! You lied! I came to the Have Nots to check on what you guys were up to. You never got between the argument of Flower and Taco. I didn't say any of that. You- you lied!"
Firey hums and looks away.
"Why? D'oh, don't tell me you stole the diary." Leafy shuffles in place.
Firey grunts.
"Firey? Why would you do that?"
"Because YOU stole Dream Island from me!" Firey points at Leafy, tone harsh.
"...what?" Leafy deadpans. "You... Stole Donut's diary because I stole Dream Island?"
"I battled for two years* to win Dream Island and- and you just took it away from me!" Firey rubs his temple.
"Because you didn't let me in!"
"You- you still stole it! You went to the Announcer and now I lost my chance with you- with winning! And then we competed again and I didn't win a prize and now we're competing for?? What? A BFB that I might not even win based on votes? Woody and Blocky got more than me!
"I have no chance! I'm never going to win anything because of you! So I took it, so what? I- I deserve to have something valuable-- everyone said they wanted that diary. I wanted it! It's only fair I have something everyone wants--"
"You're still mad about that?"
Firey stops. "What?"
"It's been years, Firey." Leafy pauses. She should bring this up while the time is right. "Why are you still distancing yourself from me? What's the point?"
"...I- we were arguing... I don't remember why but something you said hurt me, Leafy. My best friend. Not my rival or enemy. So I didn't let you onto Dream Island and you stole it. You stole it and you never apologized. You never faced consequences-"
"I did."
"You didn't." Firey stares at her.
"I did," Leafy repeats herself firmly. "When I went through that map, I ended up in Yoyleland and forced myself to live in solitaire for over a year. Every day, I blamed and ridiculed myself for buying Dream Island-- because I thought I was irredeemable and hurt everyone. I blamed myself and I punished myself and lived with that guilt eating me alive every day."
Leafy takes a deep, controlled breath. "So yes, I didn't apologize to you and it's because I thought by now you'd have realized how horrible I felt. You've held on to a grudge because of a stupid choice I made when I was younger and I'm sorry for buying Dream Island."
"B-"
"But you've hurt me too, Firey."
"I know."
"To get back at me," Leafy grunts.
"No. I still care about you, Leafy," Firey argues and Leafy raises a brow. "On that boat, I saw them chasing you. I felt bad and I knew I could've intervened and it was easier not to."
"Then why- why didn't you try reaching out? Firey, you lied about knowing me for- goodness, years. You ignored and excluded me and were so guarded and angry and rude to me."
Firey swallows. "I... when I saw how much they hated you, I decided it would be easier to ignore your existence. I felt bad but it became number overtime. I did what I could to avoid the topic of you-- and then avoid you-- because I thought they would hate me too. And- and when you became friends with Gelatin I had to avoid you even more--"
A deep breath. "But I couldn't when you joined The Losers! and talked to Pin, Coiny, and Needle. They knew about you. They knew I knew but I was still convinced everyone hated you and Beep proved my point. Through it all, I- I never stopped caring, I swear."
"You have a funny way of showing it. I want to be your friend and get along, Firey." Leafy lowers her gaze. "I do, but you make it so hard... Don't.. don't make the same mistake I did and steal things for petty reasons."
"I'm sorry."
Leafy blinks rapidly. "You..."
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't've done that. I shouldn't've stolen the diary. And I'm sorry for denying you entry to Dream Island, ignoring you, and not helping you. I was ignorant to how badly it was hurting you. I want to be friends again too, Leafy."
Leafy sighs. "It's going to take time."
"Let it. We can start fresh."
A warm smile crosses Leafy's face. "Yeah."
I PUT MY HEART AND SOUL INTO THAT SNIPPET!! BFB 22 aka Firey learns accountability 🥰
After this, X finds out Firey stole the diary and his team is up for elimination.
Leafy takes the time to visit Firey after he's eliminated. Trust is slow to build back up but they're working on it.
It becomes easier to visit Firey after Leafy herself is eliminated!!
Once BFB ends, they're in a close enough relationship to try finding their own island to prosper on together.
With Firey's handyman capabilities and Leafy's survival skills, they make one fine team! There's kinks to solve but together they manage to talk their feelings out and find a compromise.
TPOT!!
One day, on their little island, a storm starts. Leafy helps Firey get to shelter and then she's gone. Perhaps One got to her or she died. We'll see what they are doing with her in canon!!
*This may change to be shorter timespan.
I AM SO PROUD OF THIS GAHHHDBDBEUEUDHSJAJAAHHH IT WAS WORTH HALF A WEEK OF BRAINSTORMING!!

how come there's no proposal for nickel yet??? /nm
Hey, Anon! I haven't gotten around to him yet but we can change that !! >:D
Autism. Plus a lot of vocal stims!!
Shameless, friendly, easily frustrated, a tad oblivious, and confident.
If you told him about cringe culture he'd look up dead in the eyes and call it stupid. Why be so judgemental over others, like, enjoying themselves??
GOOD WITH ANIMALS!! He has a special interest in insects and would've gone to college for veterinary work had he felt like it.
Probably grew up in a farm or, like, animal rescue sanctuary owned by his parents. He thinks fondly of it.
Applied to BFDIA to get out of the house, as he has been living with his parents.
PROBABLY related to Coiny. I think it would work.
Initially moral support for No-Name. When he switches to WOAH Bunch, he is quick to do the same for them.
Nickel and Bomby are closest while Nickel's on WOAH Bunch.
Nickel has a fun time working with Tennis Ball in late BFDIA.
He will do things to get on people's nerves without meaning to. Nickel's biggest struggle is social cues. Tennis Ball has the patience for this, best shown when they work together and travel through time, but Golf Ball does NOT.
I can explore that minorly with the WTFers and further in IDFB.
During IDFB, Nickel will play some sort of role in the Golf Ball and Tennis Ball storyline, I have no clue how yet.
Outside of that, he'll be spending more time with Bomby!! He's going to help Bomby come out of his shell.
Happily accepts the invite to BFB.
With his main story taking place in BFDIA-IDFB, Nickel does become less of a focus, especially with a cast of over 60 characters. That's a lot to balance!
I'll probably have him aid in the story of other characters-- maybe be a minor influence to Woody and be one of the members who's iffy about Leafy. Beep ultimately decides against taking her back when she rejoins but Nickel doesn't dislike ber-- he just doesn't appreciate the way she pushed the team.
He switches to TPOT because of Four's treatment of contestants. Joining Just Not is a good move!! As he gets involved in Price Tag's Goiky's Dragons setup and shares a team with his friend Bomby.
Nickel hasn't played Goiky's Dragons before but he is down to try-- playing a beastmaster druid. High chance he loses his first animal companion to Pillow.
