i love underconsumption with the stuff i buy, yes everything i wear is thrifted, yes all my shoes are thrifted, yes my dresser and desk are thrifted!! i love using things till they rot and shrivel, i love recycling random things!!
i love the little things that i’ve collected over the years that hold more sentiment to me than the things that weren’t bought thrifted. i love thrifting!!! i love reusing!!!

Herrick, writing in 1888, insisted that “no fragments of [linen sheets] or of damask table-cloths or napkins should ever be thrown away. If the pieces of linen are not large enough to make full-sized cases, they may serve as covers to children’s pillows, may be doubled and made into squares for babies’ napkins or towels, or into wash cloths. The small bits that are impracticable for any other purpose are admirable for binding up cut fingers, or steeping in liniment to lay upon a burn or wound.”

This is a little juice bottle that I am reusing as a vase on my bedside altar. The flowers are from my backyard.

So the Magical Flying Husband and I get orders occasionally from Mistfits Market, and we regularly get Hello Fresh (do you know how much I miss grocery shopping and planning for my meals for the week? A lot. A lot. but I'm thankful for the vast privilege that keeps me able to not go into grocery stores full of shambling maskless eugenicists).
These boxes come either with a sort of honeycomb paper layer as insulation, or with stuff that is basically quilt batting. And being basically a quilter, I looked at that stuff and said "Ah. We'll be keeping this. I must have a use for it."
And I did, eventually! I stuffed like a dozen square pillow covers with it, so that I can have nice spaces to curl up in like a cat!

But for the last...year and a half? I've just been rolling them up tight and stuffing them into boxes and under the basement stairs and
and I think I might have made a mistake

As the third largest car market in the world, India also has growing tire waste. While manufacturers and importers will have to recycle all of their end-of-life tires as of 2025, there are calls on the government to support green technologies.
