“He’s dead,” he tried to assure you, “I shot him in the head. Also how did you know about him?”

You snorted, kissing his head, “I never take my eyes off you, pet.”

A morbid comfort. Spencer was familiar with your profile—notorious and dangerous—yet he never raised the alarm. Enjoying your company to an intimate degree, he remembers when you chose to meet him. Cornerning him publicly, "No sudden movements, Doctor Reid," you'd whispered, stood by him in the line as though you were a couple ordering a coffee together.

"Did he hurt you anywhere else?" You worried, checking his arms next, then his torso. Spencer winced lightly, while Hotch's kicks were comparable to a nine-year-old girl throwing a tantrum, they still left some bruising. Not that he'd say that. He hardly needed another reason for you to justify going after the man. You grumbled in displeasure, the bruising was superficial and would heal soon-ish, “Do you need painkillers?”

“No, I—I’m fine,” Spencer won’t lie he enjoyed being cared for.

You cast a glance of disbelief, “Bubble bath it is then.” Your tone held a finality to it and Spencer follows as he guided to the bathroom.

fantasy novel about a village of humans living in a standard vaguely medieval fantasy setting who awake one day to find a massive hedge of thorns has sprung up overnight, which acts as a gateway to the fae realm. although they find this land to be treacherous and full of hostile inhabitants when they travel through, they must enter to bring back food and other necessities, as their own crops have begun failing and the local forest has been partially cut off by the hedge of thorns. a human who has grown up in the fae realm and learned all the tricks needed to survive there teaches them how to efficiently travel back and forth undetected, but they begin to suspect he has ulterior motives. this is billed as a retelling but doesn't mention any specific fairy tales or public domain stories and only if you've watched the right movies over and over as a child would you know that what it is retelling is 2006 dreamworks animated film over the hedge

The scene at the end of Justified, Season 6, Ep. 8 (Dark As a Dungeon) plays incredibly well with Raylan sort of having this confrontation with Arlo (his dead dad) and confronting this evil man that still has a grip over him, and I love it so much.
