yk giving percy a roman sister would've actually been a GREAT addition, if only it didn't go against poseidon's loyalty towards sally which is super meaningful in the pjo books...

so. percy's arc in boo (learning to step back, allowing leo to sacrifice himself despite his loyalty/fatal flaw) sucks. for many reasons.

for one, percy yielding is such an integral part of pjo. all of pjo. but even if u somehow missed it in the first four books, tlo explicitly spells it out. "sometimes the hardest power to master is the power of yielding" hestia says to percy. "i yield when necessary. can you do this?" and then this is the climax of the story. "you are not the hero...it will affect what you do." percy has spent the last five books being told that he's the super powerful chosen one able to save or destroy the world, and he still chooses to yield to someone that has done nothing but betray him. "the line from the great prophecy echoed in my head...my whole world tipped upside down, and i gave the knife to luke." hoo acting like this is a lesson percy needs to learn is an affront to reading comprehension. percy lives bc he yields. and then he does it (yielding) again when he surrenders godhood, and power, to choose other demigods instead. this is not subtle writing.

for two, percy has rejected power, and his title, for the entirety of his story. percy doesn't even fully recognize how powerful he is until the volcano in botl. and he had to be told directly that it wasn't a fluke. then in son, percy immediately rejects the power and status offered to him. repeatedly. reyna offers him praetorship, he turns it down. frank is abt to let percy climb the wall first in the war games, percy says it was frank's claim. percy doesn't even want to go on the son quest but relents bc frank asked him. in moa, percy never demands that he lead. instead, he includes frank where he probably wasn't necessary, supports hazel, encourages annabeth, follows leo and piper's lead, and strategizes w jason. he isn't acting as a leader, but rather as part of a team. percy didn't need to "step back," the writing for the other characters needed to step up.

for three, percy had to be kidnapped and manipulated to be on this entire quest. he's not there bc he has a hero complex. acting like he has to learn to step back when he was quite literally shoved into place is wild.

for four, an integral part of percy's character is freedom, autonomy, and he extends this to the ppl he's loyal to. this is pretty explicitly established in tlt: "you're enough like me to understand," sally says. "if my life is going to mean anything, i have to live it myself." percy respects ppl's decisions. this is one of the first lessons he learns when he becomes a hero and an integral part of pjo: percy has to let sally save herself. percy has to let tyson go to the boiler. percy has to let bianca defeat talos. percy has to let nico walk away. percy has to let annabeth fight. if he loves them, he's going to let their lives mean something. even in hoo, percy still lets annabeth go on her quest alone, despite hating it, despite disagreeing w it, bc it's not his place to tell her what she can and can't do. this is her life. she has to live it. so this plotline doesn't even work it we ignore all of pjo and focus solely on hoo.

this theme of autonomy is especially important bc pjo is abt disability. one of the first things ppl try to take away from u when ur disabled is ur autonomy. the fact that percy vehemently defends it not just for himself but for others is essential to the narrative. percy advocates for other demigods, other disabled kids, and tyson, and he does so while maintaining their autonomy. it's why he's the leader, it's why he's the protagonist, it's why there is a callback to it in every pjo book. trying to act like he wouldn't respect someone's autonomy is a bastardization of this entire theme. which is actually fitting for hoo considering it bastardizes the rest of pjo anyway.

For one of the first times in his life, Jason Grace had friends. And he didn't just have one or two friends that he was only kinda close with, no, he had a whole bunch of them who were basically his ride or dies.

They supported him through anything, and he did the same right back, whether that be making sure Reyna kept her sanity intact as she navingated the chaos that was New Rome politics (for a place that was organized like a military, the politics sometimes got surprisingly out of hand), helping Leo escape from jail because of an experiment gone wrong, or helping Percy hide some unidentified remains. Jason really didn't want to know the story behind how Percy had acquired those.

Now that there was no longer a quest foretelling all of their dooms, and no more fetch quests from the gods (for now), Jason could finally spend actual quality time with his friends.

Without the lingering threat of death hanging over all of their heads, thank the gods (or don't. Everything is at least half their fault anyways).

The thing is, some of those friends, namely Percy, had found out that Jason, and a bunch of the others, hadn't got to experience what he called ‘typical teenager things’. And then decided to rectify that.

That led to at least once-weekly events such as movie nights, sleepovers, and spending exorbitant amounts of money on things that they didn't need at the mall.

So now, naturally, Jason was dragged to the county fair, getting to watch as all hell broke loose.

As soon as he arrived, Leo dragged him onto a completely sketchy ride, with exposed gears and wiring, that made ominous screeching noises whenever it started up, like the screams of the damned were trapped inside.

But, when Jason tried to be reasonable and claim that the ride was in no way safe for him to go on, Leo told him that it was fine. Well, fine enough to not have either of them be <em>seriously</em> maimed, at least. Jason didn't really believe him, but he decided to trust his boyfriend (for now). Leo was good with machines, so Leo would probably know if it was dangerous. Still, that didn't stop Jason from eyeing the worker who was running the ride warily as he taped a loose part back in with duct tape, before they started up the ride as usual.

As Jason was encouraged (read: bribed) to go on more rides, he got to watch in mild horror and bewilderment at the antics that his best friends managed to get up to.

From where he stood in the lines of rides with Leo, he could see Reyna absolutely destroying Frank in those stupid little scam games, as Frank was distracted by watching his girlfriend, Hazel, and Piper, willingly go on the most absurd and dangerous rides that they could find, just for the hell of it.

Jason watched in slight bemusement as Frank became increasingly more concerned at Hazel's risk taking activities, as she hung upside down from a ride as it spun at speeds that were sure to cause at least a mild case of whiplash, or went down the drop tower for what must've been, at least, the twelfth time.

Jason would've called Frank dramatic, but he too had seen firsthand just how sketchy the mechanisms that held the rides together were, so honestly, he couldn't blame him. Jason himself was honestly half about to leave the ride lines altogether, adorable boyfriend giving him puppy eyes be damned.

When Nico and Will <em>weren't</em> sloppily making out in some corner of the fair, Jason watched the two of them act stupidly in love, never letting go of the other's hand as they skipped through the fair, acting like teenagers without the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Will and Nico went on every ride and played every game that was marketed towards lovers, reveling in the joy that came with the two of them being together.

And,through a true test of patience, even though Jason found it almost obnoxious, Jason <em>did not</em> tease them about that. Not even a little. No matter how much he wanted to. Because Nico and Will deserved this - their relationship was still fresh, and he could remember back when he and Leo had gotten together, and they were just as sappy. How any of their friends had put up with that, Jason didn't know.

And when Percy wasn't trying (and mostly failing) to win food eating contests, he was trying to win the biggest, most obnoxious prizes from every single game. Solely because Annabeth had made one (1) single offhand comment that they were cool.

To make things worse (better? More chaotic?) a fair few of those games were water-based. So Percy, naturally, decided to rig those in his favor.

He won every one of those games on his first try, leaving the poor teenager who was working barely minimum wage stupefied on how water could behave in such ways that defied the very laws of physics.

It was Percy’s attempts to impress Annabeth more (not that he really could, considering that Annabeth was almost always impressed with Percy, no matter what) with his ever growing collection of bizarre and usually poorly made stuffed animals that made Leo finally decide to stop dragging Jason through ride after ride.

Jason's stomach, which had dropped far too many times that day, was very thankful for that turn of events.

Now Leo, as of recently, had been trying to prove to Jason that he was a good boyfriend. Jason saw no need for that to happen, because he already loved Leo more than the stars in the sky, and Leo did things everyday, no matter how little, that showed just how amazing he is, not just as a boyfriend, but as a person, a friend. But the phenomenon persisted nonetheless.

Leo grabbed Jason by the arm, and asked,

“Hey, Jason, do you want one of those obnoxious stuffed animals? I bet I could win one for you, no sweat.”

Jason knew that statement was probably prompted by Leo seeing Percy gift prize after prize to Annabeth, leading to Percy carrying a horde of tacky, but sweet, things. And Jason knew that Leo probably wanted to do the same, to show Jason just how much of a good boyfriend he was. Even though Jason still believed that it was unnecessary, because he already knew that Leo was the sweetest and most precious person on earth, he decided to humor Leo, and replied,

“Sure, why not.”

Jason knew that he made the right decision by the wide smile that lit up on Leo's face when he agreed.

Leo's game of choice was one of the games where you had to throw a ball at metal bottles, with the goal of knocking them over.

Simple premise, yes, but definitely rigged against anyone who chose to play, if the light ball and probably weighted bottles were any indication, but Jason didn't mention it to Leo. Leo was more than clever enough to have probably already figured that out, and created an entire plan on how to win.

Leo, cocky and proud as ever (a trait that Jason absolutely adored), gave the bored teenager who was running the booth a bill, and grabbed three balls, grinning at Jason.

Jason loved being the cause of that smile.

Leo tossed two of the balls to Jason for him to hold, and analyzed the booth, lining up a shot.

And then promptly failed to knock any of the bottles over. The ball hit the bottles, and

Leo's face immediately fell, but Jason tried to encourage him.

“C'mon, you still have two balls left, it's okay.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know, Sparky.”

Jason leaned over and gave Leo a kiss on the cheek.

“For good luck.”

“Like you didn't just want an excuse to kiss me, you dork,” came Leo's response, his voice filled with mirth.

“I'm <em>your</em> dork, so just shut up and throw.”

“Yeah, yeah, sure, just admit that you're a sap already.”

Even with Leo's playful protests, he still tossed the ball at the stack of metal bottles.

Leo's wide smile when he knocked them all over made something in Jason's chest flutter.

Maybe Jason was a bit of a sap.

But he'd never admit it.

“So, Leo, what prize are you going to get?”

Jason could tell that Leo already had his mind set on something, of the glint in Leo's eyes were any sort of indication.

With a grin on his face, Leo replied,

“The dragon, of course! It's like Festus! He needs a friend.”

Jason chucked good-naturedly at his boyfriend's comment.

“I suppose it does look like Festus, you dork.”

“Well, I'm <em>your</em> dork, Jason, and you love me, don't you?”

Jason just kissed his boyfriend on the lips because, well, Leo wasn't lying at all.

assorted pjo/hoo headcanons

autistic!will. i mean. i was one of the first people to write it (and post it on ao3, but i had stuff about it on my long gone old blog before then). this is true. to me. it's not incredibly obvious unless you know what you're looking for because 99% of the time he's eloquent and very passionate and maybe it's just the hyper healer in him and he'd like to think he passes well. but for people who know they can just tell. it's the voice, man /gn. gives you away every time /lh

pots!hazel. she ends up (mostly!) recovering from the fainting episodes associated with her flashbacks but still faints and feels unwell a lot of the time. she spends a lot of her energy and magic on staying conscious and aware, leaving her foggy and with flare-ups. will ends up diagnosing her half-way on accident during the three days nico stays in the infirmary. she doesn't faint a lot, but she will frequently have her vision black out when she stands and feel nauseous if she has to stand still for more than ten minutes (more or less depending on the day). together with jason and nico the three of them make up the fainting trio

reyna speaks excessively formally and politely when she's uncomfortable and the moment she feels safe around you she will just loosen up completely. it becomes very clear very quickly how much of her time is spent being uncomfortable

genderfluid!lou ellen. most of the time she's happy to be referred to as a girl, but some days it just feels wrong and she prefers to be referred to either gender-neutrally or masculinely. it's not something she's out about to anyone but her closest friends, partially because there's kind of enough stigma around being the child of hecate and also, it's not all that obvious, even to her.

nico is a bit like a social interaction vampire. he's not as shut off as others seem to think, he just needs to be given explicit permission to talk about his interests because he's worried about annoying other people, especially after bianca essentially abandoned him. he could talk for hours and hours about his special interests (because yes, he's probably autistic too) like mythomagic (he picks it up again with percy's encouragement), ancient languages and literature

will and katie (gardner) friendship. they bond over liking star wars and when lou ellen join their circle she manipulates the mist to recreate scenes from the movies. as she gets better at it she manages to make the light sabers glow, much to will and katie's delight

after the battle of manhattan and will/kayla/austin almost dying from being overworked, the camp gets together with mr d and chiron without the apollo kids' knowledge and figure out how to run the infirmary in a more sustainable way than just forcing apollo and athena kids to be there. eventually they settle on apollo kids doing 8-hour shifts but none at night unless someone is severely wounded. for the night shift, other campers work in rotating pairs where one sleeps for the first four hours and the other for the last four hours. a lot more campers gain appreciation for the amount of work the apollo (and athena) cabin put in to keep them alive and healthy and the apollo cabin doesn't die of burnout

t1 diabetic!kayla. she's been sick with it since she was six, but thanks to having a very supportive dad and a team of professionals around him considering his status as an olympic archer, her condition is well-managed (most of the time, war time is unpredictable) and she knows how to treat and manage it considering her demigod lifestyle. accompanying headcanon to this: while ambrosia and nectar is mostly to heal injuries and wounds of a divine and/or serious nature, it can short-term manage blood sugar. mortal intervention is always needed to fix the problem though. a bit like how narcan delays but can't entirely fix an opioid overdose

cecil wasn't properly accepted as a child of hermes at first considering he didn't express exceptional skills at the more obvious and everyday traits associated with the cabin (multilingualism, athleticism, thievery). first when he was found to accidentally being an exceptional saboteur was he properly accepted by the rest of his siblings. due to this he tended to hang out with the unclaimed children in the hermes cabin rather than his own siblings, especially lou ellen

hjs!cecil (hypermobile joint syndrome; double-jointedness). he's not good with most physical activities because of this and easily discouraged to even attempt most sports due to how his cabin alienated him for not being exceptionally agile, a trait associated with their cabin. it's not uncommon for his wrists and ankles to not work well (such as the twisted ankle in boo). however, he feels like he "compensates" for this by working in the shadows. when properly encouraged and supported, he prefers fighting with knives (close combat or throwing), relying on being obnoxious to throw the enemy off

Annabeth Chase

You are a child of Athena but she will look at you like you're the dumbest idiot she knows.

Just kidding, Annabeth is intelligent and will analyze this situation logically.

Best believe this Wise Girl will interview you. However, instead of an employer to an employee, it's more like a lawyer questioning a witness.

What qualities of Octavian do you like the most? When did you start liking him?...Do you love him? DO. YOU. LOVE. OCTAVIAN? Gods, answer (Y/N)!

After her interrogation, she will want to know what are you going to do about it.

Annabeth will give you the pros and cons of dating Octavian if you want to ask him out. She has long list of cons; he's arrogant, condescending, cruel— and many more.

"And the pros, Annabeth?"

Her face morphs into this 'zoned-out' look as she tries to think of any desirable qualities Octavian has, making you laugh.

"Wow, I can't think of anything."

Whether you like it or not, Annabeth will be there when you tell Octavian about your feelings. She'll be hiding (with the help of her invisibility cap), carefully watching his reaction.

She is flabbergasted when a sweet smile slowly forms on Octavian's lips before takes you in his arms, whispering into your ear promises of love.

She is happy for you but she will not hesitate to put Octavian in an onager catapult and throw him across Camp Jupiter if he screws this up.

Piper McLean

To be honest, Piper will genuinely think that Venus cursed you.

Her initial reaction is this; "What in Jupiter's name is mom planning now? Is she insane?"

Will she call out to your godly parent? Hell yes.

Venus appears right before the two of you with an intrigued look on her face. Being the goddess of love, of course she knows of your feelings towards Camp Jupiter's augur!

"Cure her of whatever curse this is."

"Our darling (Y/N) is not under any enchantment."

"It's Octavian, what is there to like?"

"Even the most dreadful of creatures deserve love, my dear. Besides, apart from me, no one else can control where love grows or where it falters."

This reminds her of Jason, silencing her.

Venus, realizing this, gingerly kisses Piper's forehead before placing a hand on your shoulder, telling you how Octavian feels the same.

"He does?"

"Of course, you're my child! Now, go and get him."

You look at Piper for support, you look unsure.

While she doesn't look as enthusiastic as your mother, she nods in encouragement.

You hug both of them before exiting the cabin. By the window, Piper and Venus sees you approach Octavian.

A few minutes later, you kiss him (something that still makes Piper want to barf) and he eagerly kisses you back.

"I will make his life a living hell if he hurts her." Piper whispers to Venus before your mother disappears into the thin air.

This made Venus proud. No matter how beautiful her children are, they are capable of terrifying things.

She just hopes that day will never come or else Octavian will surely meet his end.

Hazel Levesque

We all know Hazel is a very calm, sweet girl who will do no wrong unless she really has to.

But once you tell her about your feelings, she may act on impulse and confront Octavian immediately.

Why, you ask? Because like Piper, she'll think your under some spell. Except it's his doing.

Octavian has an evident malicious nature, a person who's willing to do catastrophic deeds to get what he wants.

So there's no way that someone like you could ever feel something for that oaf other than hatred and disgust...right?

You try to reason with her but she was determined.

She finds Octavian having a conversation with Reyna at the Garden of Bacchus.

Hazel promptly aims her spatha at his chest, demanding what he had done with you and how she will kill him if he doesn't solve it.

"What is going on?"

"(Y/N) likes him, it must be Amokinesis."

Both Reyna and Octavian's eyes widen as they look at you for further explanation.

Hazel didn't miss the blush on Octavian's cheeks and how the way the corners of his lips quirk into a small grin as he looks down, flustered.

"It's not Amokinesis, Hazel!"

"And I wouldn't do anything like that to (Y/N)."

Octavian replied, looking at you with such sincerity Hazel hasn't seen before.

Reyna looks back and forth between the three of you, delicately thinking of what to do. She settles the issue by getting you checked.

If there were no signs of Amokinesis then your feelings for Octavian are true.

After it was confirmed that it is, he didn't waste time and told you he shares your affections.

As much as Hazel loves you, she can never accept Octavian.

The two of them will remain in a bitter feud, only tolerating each other's presence for you.

And if Octavian hurts you? Let's just say Hazel (+ Nico) will make sure he spends eternity in Tartarus.

Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano

Reyna will say she's happy for you and urge you to speak more about your feelings.

As you ramble about; from when you realized you like Octavian to your daily interactions with him, Reyna will look for anything suspicious.

Octavian may be obnoxious, though no one can doubt he is a brilliant orator that can manipulate and charm people in his favor.

What if he used the same tactic on you?

Once your done, Reyna will just observe. She will take note anything; how Octavian acts, speaks, or talks about you.

After some time, she concludes that Octavian appears softer with you. Despite his reputation, you bring out another side of him; clement, calmer, more humane, and less evil.

I don't think any of them will particularly approve of him, especially Reyna.

Dating you will not completely change him. In fact, this makes her even more wary than ever.

What will she do if Octavian hurts you? Well, nothing really.

She would just smile, sit back, and enjoy the sight as you destroy him. You're a child of Bellona, after all.

❝ I'm - ❞ Jason has always found it necessary to pick his battles with Reyna, figuratively and otherwise ; it's far from useless to argue with her - honestly, that's the lifeblood that keeps them on their toes, helps them make the best decisions. But over the years, he's instinctively learned when to shut his mouth because she's right. There's no tell or formula, just a gut feeling that tells him to back down.

So he lets the argument drop from his lips and at Reyna's subtle touch, Jason leans against her. He knows that they've found a moment away from prying eyes, and the weight of that attention that normally hangs around his neck like it's trying to drown him is momentarily lifted. Jason has never been keen on letting his weaknesses show ; in the Wolf House, it'd get you killed before it got you anything else. And at Camp Jupiter, it just feels - like he's letting someone down. A lot of someones. Whether he'd asked for it or not, he's got people looking up to him, counting on him, and the last thing he'd ever do is disappoint them. Few things in this world hurt more and heal slower.

But Reyna's wordless insistence is like permission: go ahead, you won't break anything. The ache in his side is blooming brilliantly and the barest noise of discomfort swells in the back of his throat. Without saying anything else himself, Jason seeks out her hand, twining their fingers together, begging her not to pull away.

Go ahead, he signals to her in turn, you won't break anything either.

Homies, I forgot to post the last chapter. I'm a bit late but here it is. Spoilers to The Blood of Olympus (obviously). Let me know if the link doesn't work Sample below the cut.

All around campers cheered. The last of their enemies had been defeated. Reyna’s exhaustion grew. Her troops were tired after the fighting, many were injured or experiencing sore muscles. Everything washed over her lowering her reserve strength.

Her arm, despite now being metal (a gift possibly from her Mother- she wasn’t sure why Athena would grant her two gifts) ached and burned like it did when she was first injured. She pulled her arm close to her body.

She couldn’t move. Not yet. Her leg had lost its strength if she stepped she was afraid she would fall. Instead she held on to her spear for support.

Around her, campers chatted. She could hear Percy and Jason inviting the legion within Camp Half-Blood’s border. As Reyna’s exhaustion increased, she made the decision to get moving. 

She helped the nearest camper up, lending them some strength to get them moving and letting Frank take charge of giving the legion directions on where to go.

Slowly, she made her way towards Athena’s statue helping campers up, giving some basic first aid and encouraging them to help each other. Piper was doing the same. 

“Praetor Reyna, what are we doing with the supplies?” 

“Check in with your centurion first, then start bringing supplies into Camp Half-Blood. I’ll find out where we can make camp and we’ll get everything we can moved there.”

Reyna shared her decision with many more campers encouraging them to help as many get to the check in spot that Camp Half-Blood’s Cabin Leader’s designated so that the injured could be treated and the Legion could build their temporary camp.

Being Praetor, Reyna didn’t have anyone to check in with, but she needed the headcounts from the centurions. She tried to make it to them and could only get as far as the statue before she had to stop and hold onto it for support.

Her leg wouldn’t stop shaking, and putting weight on it made her knee give out. She had no choice but to wait until it stopped. Her arms began to burn from holding herself up. The metal prosthetic shined brightly in the morning light. Its general appearance reminded her of her dogs. Gold and silver created an even pattern starting from just over an inch above her elbow. Where the metal touched her flesh it didn’t burn. Just itched like crazy. 

She missed her dogs and her pegasus. She wondered if Scipio was okay. 

Reyna rested her head on her arms. She would have fallen asleep right then and there if she could.

“Reyna?”

“How are things moving?”

“Good,” Annabeth replied simply. “Clarisse took the Ares cabin and some of the Mars and Vulcan kids to remove and disable the rest of the landmines. Almost everyone has checked in.”

“How many haven’t?”

“Just one. Nico said you were over here.”

You know how the Wonderland kids are more of a neutral party in the whole royal vs rebel? Like,Kitty literally had a whole episode of the narrators not knowing if she was a rebel or not; Maddie loved her destiny but decided to be a rebel for Raven,and Lizzie also wanted her destiny but wanted to be kinder than her mom? Yeah,this but with the chthonic kids.

The EAH Wonderland is now the equivalent of the Underworld,with Nico,Hazel,Lou Ellen,Clovis and Ethan being more neutral of it and doing their own things. They also can't visit much the Underworld,unlike everyone else at school when they go home,because the connection with the surface is weak so they only have a few rare occasion to see their parents when they don't live with them.

Thalia and Jason are kinda like the O'hair siblings here,but with parent that forced them in their destinies,because they need to mantein their myths. Zeus always told them to continue family tradition,but the thing is that Thalia doesn't want to (so a rebel,yes),and Jason doesn't see a way out of it since he doesn't want to disappoint the high expectations his dad. So he and Thalia kinda switch roles (usually is the oldest to inherit the destiny),and Jason is the one to continue their legacy untill Thalia can finally find a loophole because she feel guilty about this.

Annabeth dynamic with Athena is like Apple White and Snow White,but the twist is that Annabeth doesn't want her destiny like Apple wants. She doesn't want to get poisoned and then marry to some stranger,so she try to do everything that a princess shouldn't and is an inventor. Her mom try to make follow her footsteps multiple times,but everytime they have a conversation of it,Annabeth just grow colder to her.

Percy is close to his dad,loves him and wants to make him proud of him,so he tries to make it work. It doesn't matter that sometimes he doesn't like what he has to do,at the end of the day he is ok with it,if it's mean his dad is proud of him and nothing bad happens to their family legacy.

Piper wants to be like her mom,she always wanted to have that life because for her it's a dream. Untill she understands what type of prices she needed to pay to reach her lifestyle and start to question it (Like Briar). Fortunately for her,after realizing she didn't want that anymore,Drew took the role (Silena didn't want to be like their mother in the first place).

Will admire his dad and his family history,and Apollo always encouraged him to persue what he wanted,but he wanted to be like his dad. Both Micheal and Lee didn't want to follow their already planned future so this made Will the oldest sibling that could inherit it,since Kayla and Austin are too little.

Leo doesn't really know how to feel about his destiny,so he tries to take things slow while trying to understand if he wants it or not. His dad isn't really present so he doesn't really know how to approach him on that. Eventually he decided to came neutral about it (like Kitty) and let everything play out untill he decide what to do (in the end,he become a rebel).

Frank and Clarisse are royal,they both were raised by an Ares that educated them about their family history,and both of them have a mission to continue their myths. At the end of the day,Clarisse doesn't follow with it while Frank does. Hazel is there to support him in his choices,even if it's mean leaving the whole "neutral" label.

I envision Luke like a Faybelle that really want to follow Hermes's story,but later on realize he doesn't want to or isn't ready yet (like when Faybelle stopped Briar to prick herself with the needle because she was worried). The headmaster puts a lot of pressure on him (and Percy,Thalia and Nico),so he convince himself is the right way to go. Connor,Travis and Chris have no idea of that and think their brother is just extremely dedicated.

Reyna and Hylla are like Cerise and Ramona,their story is tragic so while they make everyone think it's fine for them,they actually try to find a solution behind doors. In the end,the only way to continue is having one of the two give up on their destiny,so Hylla takes the burnt of it for Reyna.

Some of the teachers there are part of some of the myths of their parents,or straight up their older half-siblings from the godling sides like Cupid,Melinoë,Triton,Daedalus,etc...

Monster are still a thing but the school has a magical barrier to defense their students and classes about self-defense,and how to kill them,are taught (like those classes of heroism where the prince needs to saves the princesses from dragons).

The Gods are an active part of their children life. Olympus,instead of a mountain,is like a city where most gods lives with their children. Percy (and whatever other children of water deities you want to have) like in Atlantis with his dad,while Nico and Hazel are in the Underworld,so they are a bit cut of from them most of the time (especially the Underworld kids). Also,here their status as princes and princesses actually gets acknowledge so everyone give each other the respect they have.

Kronos gets replaced with Chiron at the end (idk what happened,my brain didn't think of it yet but it probably will-) and he decided that the whole thing is bullshit and that they can choose what they want.

I'm getting invested again in Ever After High (it's like the blueprint for Descendants and just an extremely better version if you never heard of it) and my mind had this brilliant idea of AU.

You know how the kids of the fairytales characters had to go to school to follow their parents destinies? And how some of them didn't want to because they were horrible and didn't what that? The whole division between royals (the people who wanted to follow their destiny) and rebels (those who didn't?)? That,but with percy jackson characters.

Make them all go to a school where they have to follow their parents footsteps,but while some of them want to and have a good relationship with their parents and people (like Percy),some just can't stand it,want nothing to do with it and try to escape from it (like Thalia).

And Kronos (for our mental sanity he is related only to the greek little 3 trio,otherwise it gets messy-) is like the evil headmaster that want them to follow their destiny like their parents did. And after he gets "dethroned" by the main gang,someone else take his stop and abolish the whole "childrens needs to follow their parents footsteps/myths" so all of them can have their own future.

Will and Bob bonding over positive feelings towards Nico. Bob telling Will how Nico was kind enough to befriend him, then Will starts shamelessly fangirling over Nico.

Jason Grace Takes a minute to understand what that means for you. Does his own research so he doesn't bother you with his questions. Gets you a small bi pride flag and sends you links to any bi memes that pop up on his instagram.

Piper McLean Hyped as fuck for you. Wants to know every crush you've ever had. Gets a little bi pride pin and adds it to her collection- she gets one for every queer person she knows and pins it to their picture in her room so she remembers.

Quirks, courses and important notes for everyone in the BNHA PJO AU!

Percy: Poseidon's Grace (Named by Poseidon, manifested when he was young, works like in canon), Hero, volunteers with little kids in need. The kids adore him and have like, two signatures each from him!

Annabeth: Master Analysis (she can see the stats of anything she touches, very useful for architecture), Business (she's gonna make these assholes profitable if it's the last thing she does), she occasionally makes the other Business students cry because of how obnoxious and overbearing she is, but it's good practice for when they deal with heroes.

Jason: Supreme Thunder (named after Sailor Jupiter's first move because it's funny. Works like in canon and hasn't discovered his air abilities yet), Hero, wanting to get out of Jupiter's shadow as a good hero in his own right.

Piper: Magical Girl Charm (works like canon but also includes magical girl particles and a transformation), Hero, aims to be like Midnight and/or someone kids can look up to.

Leo: Welder's Torch (works like canon), Support, causes Powerloader so much extra stress and is mostly banned from working with Hatsume.

Hazel: Fool's Gold (works like canon), still in middle school but aims to be a Hero and eventually a teacher, plays pranks on the bullies in her class but uses her "good kid"/cute privilege and gets away with it. She's being encouraged by the others to just punch the assholes.

Frank: Animorph (works like canon, he was really into Animorphs when he was little and named his quirk after it. Was also a late bloomer (got his quirk around 7)), Hero, aims to get the HPSC to treat heroes better.

Nico: Ghost King (works like in canon, Bianca suggested the name), General (only really going to UA because everyone he knows goes there), sometimes he'll just sneak into the others' classes and watch

Reyna: Super Strength (self explanatory, but also her canon powers from Bellona are a little hard to work into a quirk), Hero, she's one of the recommendation students and already has a gaggle of children who look up to her and think she's cool.

Will: No quirk name yet because all I can think of is a Rapunzel reference lmao but it works like canon, General and aiming for being a doctor, also no important notes because I literally don't know that much about him lmao other than Nico's doctor boyfriend in canon (also he rode a motorbike with Percy at one point in the original series but it's been a while so I don't remember which book)

— post BoO, jason travels between the greek and roman camps, spending a little more of his time with the greeks, for personal i need to heal reasons. he has been the roman trophy soldier for so long, and realises after the giant war that he doesn’t want to live his life being treated like a weapon. he has all the love in the world for his roman friends, n will not abandon them, but for his own health & well being, he needs space away from camp jupiter. — since becoming pontifex maximus, he works very very hard to fix camp jupiter’s issues in order to make it a safer and less army-oriented space for the roman demigods. he realises he cannot fix everything wrong with it, since the foundations for the whole place, new rome included, was built on a deeply problematic system ( cj is full of classism & nepotism, and is not free of racism either, since it was built by confederate supporters 😐 ), but he has to try. frank and reyna are absolutely the praetors cj deserves, and he trusts them to act with the demigods’ best wishes at heart.  — some of the policies he’s most focused on include: raising the minimum age for joining the legion, fostering a system closer to chb’s where the demigods are encouraged to spend more time with their siblings outside of their cohort restrictions; completely scrapping the cohort system’s “richest / most powerful kids get put in the best and most well provided for cohort” deal; honouring minor gods & their children; and paying back former legionnaires / their families for years of service. also, of course, bringing the council / senate to task for their previous mistreatment of certain cohorts & demigods/legacies. — he helps and supports the greeks in their plans to build a new rome-like place for their own demigods. i’m calling it new athens, but whatever it ends up being called, jason promises to help build the area in whatever way he can. — he and piper split amicably sometime after BoO, and remain besties. he has so much love n admiration n respect for piper and there is NO universe in which they could ever part on bad terms. not a single one. they have been thru so much together it is unthinkable for jason to not support her and be comforted by her presence in his life. — he doesn’t die helping apollo, but he does sustain some very serious injuries after the fight with caligula. after this, he takes some serious time off from doing more quests......again, for his own wellbeing :’|

LGBTQ+ Percy Jackson Headcannons

Hello everyone, I hope everyone’s day is going good. I wanted to do these headcannons for so long and I was waiting for Pride Month but fuck it, I want to do them. Love is Love and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise because your valid and amzing the way you are! Spoilers for TOA, Jason’s not dead!

- Percy Jackson is bisexual

- He’s less of a leader of the camp and more like the big brother. Most campers go to him to come out because he’s such a supportive person and such a great listener.

- If that camper has a crush on another camper and Percy knows that other camper likes them back, Percy along with the help of Piper get them togther.

- Bisexual Piper (or Pan)

- The Aphrodite Cabin help curious or confused campers figure out there sexuality or gender. They know pretty much know all sexuality’s and genders and help.

- If there’s a camper who dose not identify what there assigned gender at birth is, the Aphrodite cabin helps them feel more masculine, feminine, both or neither. They will give them clothes that they like because they have the biggest closet in Camp. They give makeup and tips, if someone wants to cut there hair, they will cut it. They just like to make people feel beautiful, handsome, or both.

- If there’s an asexual or aromatic Aphordite kid who thinks something is wrong with them, there siblings tell them that there vaild and loves them so much.

- Aphrodite is so supportive of her kids. She wants them to love whoever they want and even if they don’t, she’s still happy for them. Sometimes if one of her kids have homophobic mortal parents, she will go talk to that child and tell them that love is love and that there vaild for liking who the like.

- Aphrodite cabin team up with the Athena cabin to teach the camp about the different sexuality and genders. The Athena Cabin more specially teaches the history.

-Pansexual Annabeth

- Athena Cabin teaches and educated people on every aspect of the LGBTQ community. If someone is uneducated, they teach them. They teach the Camp about the history and how it’s important.

- They will have literal charts, graphs and even discussions and debates if a character in there favorite book is LGBT or not.

- Malcome Pace is gay.

He’s dating Conner Stroll and they didn’t really tell anyone because they lowkey forgot. Everyone just thought there were best friends. One night at the campfire, Conner comes to sit with Malcome because at this point, no one follows the rule. He kisses him on the the cheek and the Apollo kids stop singing. The whole Camp is in shock, and they both reliazed what happened.

- The Athena Cabin and Hermes Cabin were asking them so many questions like “When did you get togther”, “How did you get togther”, or “Why didn’t you tell us”. The Aphrodite cabin was just squealing because they shipped them for so long. Everyone was asking questions. Mr.D was like “Ha, called it”, Malcome and Conner both said that “They just assumed everyone knew”, like did the camp see how close they were?

- Travis is so happy for his little brother, and supported them so much. Katie Gardener is happy for Conner because even though they get on each other’s nerves, Conner deserves someone who loves him as much as Travis loves her. Annabeth is so happy for her little brother. She asked “When did you two get togther?” They both replied with “8 months ago”. The entire Camp gose nuts of that fact that Malcome Pace and Conner Stroll got togther eight months ago without anyone knowing.

- In Olympus, Hermes keeps gloating to Athena that one of his kids is with hers.

- Back at Camp, the counselors are ready to do the normal Camp tradition when a new couple gets togther. Conner and Malcome know what’s coming, the Aries kids pick them up and dump them into the lake. It’s a tradition that started with Percebth.

- Conner’s gay

- The Aries Cabin are a little weary of the community but after one of there siblings come out, they become so protective of them.

- Pansexual Will

- During Pride Month, every single day during the Campfire, the Apollo cabin sing LGBTQ anthems.

- They put on LGBT movies during Pride Month for movie night. Conner and Travis tried to sneak in R rated movies but got caught.

- Apollo being so bi as fuck when he’s at camp and encourages campers to come out.

- In fact all the Gods not caring what gender or sexuality there kid is and supports them. After all, the Greeks were never straight

- Hazel and Calypso being so confused about the community because they weren’t around when the terms were made. Annabeth and Piper help educate them on the community

- Hazel finding a term that identity’s with her because even though she loved Sammy and loves Frank but there were a few girls back home that she liked. She’s happy that it isn’t unnatural.

- Pansexual Hazel

- Frank being so supportive and happy that she found out a part of her.

- Bisexual Leo

- Also Trans Leo (FTM)

- Leo being trans and insecure about his identity because of some transphobic foster homes. Piper and Jason being the first people to know and slowly felt more comfortable it’s telling people.

- Leo’s terrified to tell Calypso because he’s scared she will leave him. He puts off for a long time and Calypso knows something’s up. After much encouragement from his friends, he finally decided to tell Calypso. He asks her on a date in Bunker Nine.

- It was a very enjoyable date and they had a great time. Leo was stalling and Calypso knew but didn’t push him. He finally spit it out and was braced for Calypso to be disgusted and leave him but instead she was confused. Calypso never really grasped the term and just asked questions. Leo was shocked at her reaction and explains to her and she understood a lot more and was fine with it.

- Leo was shocked and rambled on about how he dosen’t meet her expectation of a “cis guy” and Calypso cuts him off with a hug and tells him she loves him no matter what. Leo was on the brink of tears and they just stayed there for a while.

- A couple days later, Calypso made Leo a homemade binder using the same material that she used when she makes him fireproof clothes. Leo was very happy. (I can do more of Trans Leo if anyone wants any)

- The Hunt obviously accepts trans girls because trans girls are girls!

- Artemis also hunts transphobes for fun with the help of Reyna and Thaila.

- Meg curses out anyone who is homophobic or transphobic.

- Mr.D threatening to turn someone into a dolphin if he hears someone say something homophobic or transphobic. Chrion giving that person cleaning duties for a month after dinner.

- Rachel blasting out Girl In Red in her cave.

- Percy, Leo, and Piper blastes our Sweather Weather at 3am, in the Posiden Cabin, singing it in the top of there lungs

- There’s a support group in Camp Jupiter for the LGBTQ+ community and Hazel obviously joins. The group gladly accepts there praetor.

- The Demeter Cabin makes rainbow flower crowns during Pride Month.

- Sally Jackson makes rainbow cookies for Pride.

- The Hephuetus Cabin teams up with the Aphrodite cabin to make rainbow jewelry.

- During Pride Month, the Iris Cabin decorated the entire camp in rainbows, they had a whole celebration all month. Things like Pride songs every night or movies, accessories and flags and even a parade.

- Jason being the whitest, straightest, cisest, male out there and supporting all his friends no matter what. He takes them to Pride, donates to charitys and organizations for LGBTQ+ teams or adults. Jason educates himself and will be there every step of the way. Calypso and Frank also being huge supporters!

- Nico being so happy that things have changed and he’s finally in an environment where he is accepted and loved. Will loves seeing his boyfriend smile.

- At the end of the month, the Hephuetus Cabin puts out a rainbow firework show, showing how everyone is accepted no matter what.

I'm kinda feeling Percabeth/Jasiper polycule in this chili's tonight so here are some headcanons:

Piper figured it out first. She understood the magnetic attraction to Annabeth and understood why Percy and Jason disliked each other at first. Of course, she didn't do anything with this information because the people she really trusted with it were main players in the issue.

Annabeth had an issue processing her feelings at first. She thought Piper was pretty, sure, but then when she met Reyna, she realized it was a different type of "This girl is pretty." and that sent her to where? Researching. She kept it very close to her chest, refused to act different until she was certain what was up.

Percy knew though. Percy is always better at understanding others' feelings versus his own. He notices Annabeth is slightly off and he wants to ask but he knows to give her space but its almost painful when he knows it gets worse when he holds her hand or just hugs her close.

Jason is....oblivious. While he's good at rallying the troops and leading, he doesn't much work well processing romantic attraction. He straight up ignores his feelings.

Annabeth finally works it out, just before they get to Rome, and confesses to Percy about it all. She lays it out very clinically, as if she's removed from the situation instead of taking the biggest, most hopeful step.

Percy listens attentively as she explains her interest in Piper. He asks if she still loves him and she says yes. They talk about polyamory and how it works and what communication would be needed and all of the details. Percy asks if he can think it over and, of course, Annabeth agrees.

Then Tartarus happens and everything's put on hold. Piper vows to talk to Jason about everything after Jason and Nico return but Jason seems off so she hesitates.

Cupid wasn't confronting only Nico, no, the god of love also picked on Jason. Sure, Nico was still the center of attention but by forcing Nico to come out in front of a person he didn't trust, Jason wanted to reassure him, maybe return some of the trust he never had. Jason told Nico that he also thinks Percy is attractive. Nico gives him one of his perfect death glares and Jason winces, thinking he screwed up. Nico asks about Piper and Jason backtracks, saying he still cares about Piper of course, but Percy is just so...captivating.

So, Piper and Jason are stilted around each other, each harboring worries that maybe they're only together for comfortability or comphet reasons. Piper tries to talk to Jason again just before they get to the Doors of Death. She chokes up and ends the conversation.

Out come Percabeth, banged up and traumatized, clinging to one another and basically being a unit. Piper shoves her feelings down because of course, they're perfect for each other. Jason becomes more detatched from Piper and angry with Percy again.

The Giant War ends as normal, they mourn Leo and start going their separate ways. Its about a year later when Annabeth reaches out to Piper. She and Percy finally talked about everything: Tartarus, their relationship, Annabeth and Piper, and decided Annabeth should try to pursue Piper.

Now Piper really has to talk to Jason. They're still at Camp Half-Blood, working on repairs and setting up for the new year. Piper finds a secluded spot and the two sit down. Before Piper can even start, Jason asks if Piper knows about polyamory. Apparently he'd been learning from Lou Ellen and it seemed a good label to fit his feelings so he decided to introduce it to Piper. Piper was relieved and nodded and they finally, finally, talked it out. Everything, from Piper and Annabeth to Jason and Percy and the fears they'd both shared. Piper confesses Annabeth has asked her out and explains she wants to try but she still very much wants to be with Jason. He's thrilled to hear it and agrees that she should go on the date.

Percy absolutely encourages Annabeth and helps her plan the date and is all around supportive.

Piper and Jason arrive at Annabeth and Percy's little rented apartment in New Rome. The boys see them off and head inside to hang out until they're done. Percy, bless him, notices how on edge Jason is and comments that they'll be okay. Jason does the awkward smile and nod in agreement. Of course they'll be okay, but he may not be.

It gets pretty late and they decide to start a movie. They're sitting on the couch, leaning into each other as the show plays and Jason takes the leap. After all, its been one leap after another lately. He asks what Percy thinks about Annabeth and Piper and Percy answers honestly: He's glad it worked out and he's genuinely happy for Annabeth. He knows he's her primary and he thinks Piper is a good person. So Jason asks if he'd ever see himself in Annabeth's position.

Percy kind of shrugs. He's never considered it but he wouldn't say yes at that point because it could always change. The two fall into silence again and the show plays. They're getting sleepy now due to the late hour and Percy pipes up again to ask Jason why he was asking so much. Jason turns to face him fully and tells him because he's had a small crush on him for a while but didn't know how to handle it.

Percy slowly grins and nods, all the pieces aligning in his head. He pulls Jason close and says he wants to talk to Annabeth before any big decisions are made but he's more than happy to try dating Jason.

Anyways, give me the power polycule 😤 I just think they'd be neat.

this is so dumb but I imagine Jason is still alive and people just keep coming out to him

like he’s just the go-to friend to come out to first and nobody knows why

we all saw his speech to Nico

and I’m sure when Piper gave him the reason for their breakup he was heartbroken but still super supportive and encouraging

Reyna tells him she’s ace and he’s so happy that she’s finally comfortable and confident with herself and her identity

eventually Leo comes up to him one day and is like “hey dude I think I’m bi”

and Jason’s still his chill uplifting self but in his head he’s just thinking “gods, are any of my friends straight?”

(the answer is no)
